Susan was the best communicator of all of our vendors (and we had some great ones). She had nice forms that we could fill out for the shot list, other vendor information, etc. and was so responsive via email and text (closer to the day). She created a super detailed timeline of the planned pictures, which we used as a starting point for our master timeline.
We had a quick call for a vibe check prior to booking (spoiler: she passed), and because we didn’t do an engagement shoot, the first time we met her was actually on our wedding day. While she offered to have a quick call before the wedding, we didn’t feel like it was necessary because of all the wonderful communication she provided leading up to it. We were totally right because she was so kind (to everyone, not just us) and moved the day along without making us feel rushed and was able to accommodate several location changes. She gave great directions and put us at ease, which is saying a lot for two people who are camera shy.
I could go on for a long time, but I will note three important things: 1) She starts 2.5 hours before the first look and then doesn’t leave until after three full hours of your reception (the clock starts after cocktail hour); this means she was on the clock for over 12 hours with us because we had a late reception start time (7 pm); for many photographers we looked at, this was out of the question. 2) You can use a credit card for booking with her without a weird card fee, which is rare these days. 3) We took portraits at a skinny park with a fountain and had a large wedding party so we were discussing ways to fit everyone into the shots, and Susan said, “Honestly, I don’t mind taking my shoes off and standing in the water to shoot if allowed.” Come wedding day, she had a little towel ready to go in case she had to jump in the fountain. How cool is that?
If you want someone to make your life easier during wedding planning by being organized, communicative and supportive who also happens to take GREAT, natural and bright pictures, you’ve found your photographer! -

Best Photographer in South Jersey!
From the beginning Susan was so easy to work with! My husband hates photos and was dreading the experience from the start. We started with our engagement session and we were quickly impressed by Susan! She made the session fast and easy and it felt more like we were having fun than posing for pictures. Once our wedding planning was in full swing Susan was such a help for scheduling the day and everything went by so smooth. Her pictures are flawless and I get compliments on them all the time! We are now expecting a baby boy and we will be using her for our newborn photos in the near future!! -

From our very first emails with Susan, I knew we were in great hands. She was warm, kind, professional, and completely on the ball. When we had our engagement shoot with her last November, we were blown away—she made us feel so comfortable and at ease, and the photos were absolutely gorgeous. After that experience, we were even more excited for our wedding day.
Flash forward to the wedding, and we truly cannot stop talking about how incredible it was to work with Susan (and Abbey!). She was thoughtful, efficient, and everything you could possibly hope for in a photographer. She captured moments so naturally while keeping the day moving smoothly and stress-free.

We booked Susan in the Fall of 2023 for our August 2024 wedding. She is extremely detail-oriented and wants to make sure she captures every moment of your special day. I really appreciated her organizational skills as we didn’t use a planner, and she helped us put together a run-of-show timeline for the day which helped keep us on track and she accommodated all of my requests for different shots. Susan is extremely kind and responsive - two very important qualities in a wedding vendor! We landed on her name as she was a preferred photographer for our venue and we’re so glad we did because she knew the grounds inside and out. We absolutely love how our photos turned our and are so excited to share with friends and family! -

The Best Wedding Photographer EVER!
Susan was absolutely incredible. I truly cannot say enough amazing things about her - from the engagement shoot where she helped me fix my dress, all the way through our wedding and beyond she was truly the best of the best and my favorite vendor I have ever worked with. Her professionalism, kindness, and ability to make us feel comfortable in front of the camera were absolute game changers. She helped plan our day-of timeline, kept things moving and on time, and delivered photos that were absolutely stunning. To put it simply, she is fantastic and you should definitely hire her to be your photographer!! -

You simply cannot go wrong when choosing Susan as your photographer! Susan is such a natural and so easy to be around. She made both the engagement photos and wedding photos a breeze! One of the things that impressed me most was her ability to command a large crowd without ruining the fun-energy or vibe. We had a very large wedding party (22) and a very complicated family dynamic but Susan was able to navigate all with ease. We were able to get every shot and combination that we wanted and still enjoy ourselves! Your photographer is someone that is with you for all the important moments of your wedding so it's really important to choose someone that not only takes great photos, but that you're comfortable with. This is definitely Susan! Now, for the photos... oh my god... people are STILL talking about how stunning our wedding photos are. We have yet to print any because we are having such a hard time narrowing it down! They are all so stunning. We can't thank Susan enough for all her hard work. Definitely book Susan - she is a pro! -

Susan is the BEST!!
Susan is absolutely sensational! She was a pleasure to plan my wedding day with. She answered my multitude of emails and questions so quickly! She made the entire process of planning and of course the wedding day of run flawlessly. My parents are divorced and both are remarried so I had a really long list of family portraits to take the day of and Susan made all of that and more happen so fast and the pictures came out amazing. She is incredibly organized, and made sure all of our requests and requested pictures happened, as well as making sure we were enjoying our day! Susan went above and beyond for my husband and I all day and even after the wedding! My sister and her boyfriend broke up after our wedding and her ex was in all of our family pictures and Susan was able to send our pictures to a colleague of hers and they were able to photoshop him out! You could never tell he was ever there to begin with! All of our pictures came out so beautiful!! My husband sang to me during our reception and he forgot to mention that to Susan. Without even asking her, she saw he was getting ready to sing and stayed a little past the time she was supposed to leave to capture that incredible moment for us. A friend of ours recommended Susan to us after they used her for their wedding and I recommend her to everyone looking for a photographer! -

Susan-start to finish- was the most incredible wedding photographer to work with! Super communicative, available and easy to get a hold of. Our photographs turned out beautiful, we had trouble choosing which prints to hang in our house (so far we have 6). She gets to know you and your partner as a couple and loves your input regarding the photographs, settings, and overall look that you want for your wedding photos. Truly the best experience! -

Susan was an absolute rockstar in the rain during our wedding photos. From the very beginning of booking, she was a pleasure to work with, amazing at coordinating details (type A bride here really appreciates that), and willing to answer any questions we had! Above all, the wedding day wouldn't have been the same without her. She makes you feel like a friend is taking the photos- very relaxed and makes the whole experience fun! Just from the sneak peek we got (only a week after the wedding might I add), she managed to capture the day perfectly, and even made it look like it was a decent day- when in reality it rained...a lot. I would recommend Susan to any bride looking for a natural editing style, it is classic and I will never get sick of these photos. -

Best photographer around!
I was so happy with Susan Hennessy as our wedding photographer. Throughout the planning process she was wonderful to work with, during preparations and keeping in communication. We really enjoyed getting to know her through our engagement photo shoot and were so happy with how those photos turned out. The day of our wedding she was punctual, a fun personality to have around and was great at keeping a large group on task to get beautiful photos. Our previews were beautiful and I am so excited to see the rest of our photos! -

Amazing!!!
Susan Hennessey was the most amazing photographer I could have ever dreamed of for our wedding day. With a postponed wedding, the sweatiest engagement session and many wedding ups and downs she was so patient, easy to get in touch with and her photos are just exactly what I’ve always imagined. Every session and communication we had with Susan was fun and painless for two people that are far from photogenic. The second photographer on our wedding day, Josh was so nice and helped our grooms party immensely during the getting ready process. I am so thankful for susan and her team being a part of our day and thanks to her we can look back on it for every day to come! -

I highly recommend Susan Hennessey Photography! Susan was a joy to work with. We first had the pleasure of her company during our engagement session. My husband and I were completely new to the professional photos scene but Susan made us feel comfortable and at ease, and the photos turned out gorgeous! Susan also photographed our wedding day and we couldn’t be happier. From the moment she arrived on the wedding day, she was calm and relaxed which made me feel calm and relaxed. She helped us stick to the timeline that was created, but we never felt rushed or overwhelmed. It helped the day go smoothly. By the end of the wedding day she felt like an additional wedding party member and I was genuinely sad to see her go. Susan captured so many sincere, happy, beautiful moments and the pictures really helped us to relive our day. She also posts the photos on her blog and on social media, including personal statements and our love story. This made it so much fun to wait for the photos and get these little sneak peaks. Susan is flexible, kind, and smart with her poses and photo choices. She really has a way of making you feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy, and this really shows in the photos. Everything turned out great and her photos are a perfect representation of our fabulous day. We will absolutely be using Susan for our photography needs going forward! -

Gorgeous, intimate photos from a fun, professional industry expert!
We had the best experience with Susan as our wedding photographer! From the beginning of the planning process, she helped us create a day-of timeline that became the foundation for the rest of our planning and coordination with other vendors. She was extremely supportive and responsive during the planning period, and especially with so many changes that occurred during COVID restrictions. On the day of the wedding, Susan put all of us at ease and made sure we had so much fun during each stage of the day. She made sure we stuck to our timeline, but also maintained a fun and cheerful attitude while taking portraits. Our bridal party portraits and couple session were so much fun! Susan also provides an extremely personal touch by putting together your preview photos with a blog post that tells your story. When I shared ours with family and friends, they were so impressed by the level of detail and care that went into the post - like nothing they'd ever seen before! The photos themselves are absolutely gorgeous. We received ours about 2 months after our wedding and have not stopped looking at them! We loved working with Susan so much that my sister has already booked her for her wedding next September! -

Susan was an incredible person to work with, and we could not be happier! We got married in 2020 when many couples had to change plans numerous times. When we reached out to Susan, she was so welcoming, flexible, and accommodating to our unique circumstances. We knew right away that she was who we wanted to work with. We had a micro-wedding in LBI on the shore, and it truly was a dream come true. She made everyone feel comfortable and was extremely professional. She created a beautifully detailed blog page for us to share just a few weeks after our wedding which included personal details about our love story. She also sent us a decorative box with our final flash drive and photo frame with pictures already printed. We would love to work with Susan in the future for maternity and family shoots! Her work is phenomenal!

Where to start?! Susan was absolutely amazing; from her communication to flexibility to her amazing work, words will not be able to describe how great she was to work with. Susan captured our engagement photos and wedding day photos and whenever I look through the pictures, I am breathless. Not only is her work amazing, but she is just so kind and made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Words cannot describe how perfect!
Susan was absolutely perfect for us! We fell in love with her and her work during or engagement session. Then our wedding was scheduled for June of 2020 during a global pandemic, no only was she so supportive but she basically planned my whole microwedding for me at no extra cost. Her work was amazing, she somehow got my husband to enjoy the pictures even though he normally hates doing that sort of thing. I can not say one bad thing about her I am SO THANKFUL for everything she did and how AMAZING all the pictures turned out! -

Susan was nothing but professional from day one. She was so sweet helping us navigate the wedding vocabulary and figure out our style. She really took the time to get to know us as a couple to make our day more fun than we every could have imagined, AND she managed to capture every bit of that emotion on camera. She also kept the entire day running smoothly. I didn’t realize this, but the photographer is the one that builds the schedule and really keeps the day on track, and Susan was very organized, excellent at communicating with us and our vendors, and very flexible with any customizations we asked for. Susan was the best photographer we could have asked for and more! I had originally booked another photographer, but it didn't end up being the right fit and we ended up going with Susan. That was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding! Susan did our engagements photos and made us feel so comfortable. She was responsive to every email and answered every single question thoroughly. We got married on one of the hottest days of the summer - 100 degrees! You couldn't tell from our photos with Susan. She worked with us to make us comfortable on the day even with the heat and gave great tips to help us stay cool. Our pictures came out AMAZING! She set up a couple of large group family shots in the reception that came out perfect. We highly recommend Susan for her professionalism, personality, and amazing photos! -

Susan was amazing to work with! She was very flexible for our engagement shoot, which we kept having to push because of work issues. She was amazing on my wedding day - made sure I got all of the shots I requested and worked quickly in the cold weather! She also got my pictures to me sooner than I expected, which was amazing because I didn't have patience to wait for them. I ordered an album as well which came out very high quality and beautiful. Overall a great experience!! -
Nicole Sent on 08/02/2018Susan is absolutely amazing! She was hands-down mine and my husband's favorite vendor from our wedding. She managed to capture every moment and detail from the entire day. We're able to relive our entire wedding day when we look through the photos she took. She helped keep me sane throughout the day, too, and made sure I remained comfortable in the 85+ degrees heat!
As soon as Susan saw me starting to get frazzled about anything, she stepped in and talked me down. She helped keep my bridal party in check and was amazing with all of my family and friends. She even managed to get great shots of my two dogs that were in the wedding! Her assistant, Josh, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was SO great with the guys and he managed to take very creative shots!
Susan also did mine and my husband's engagement session, which was included in the package we chose. The photos turned out so beautiful - we had a very hard time deciding which ones to use for our save the dates. We actually ended up not only using them for our save the dates, but we also created an entire guest book for our wedding with them!
Her prices are comparable to other photographers and she even offers albums! Most photographers only give you an online gallery or a USB drive now-a-days, but Susan does all three! She is extremely responsive and flexible and she truly knows how to make you feel special throughout the entire process. She made sure to get every shot I wanted by sending out a very helpful questionnaire two months before the wedding. She also sent out a photography timeline about a month before, which really helped me plan out the rest of my wedding day.
We recently received our wedding album and we are completely wowed. Susan did an amazing job on it and made sure to get our opinion on everything. The album is such great quality and is truly something we will be able to cherish forever. My husband and I will definitely be reaching out to Susan again in the future! -

Linda Sent on 12/04/2017Hiring Susan as the photographer for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. Leading up to our wedding day, she answered any questions that I had right away which kept me at ease. She also created a timeline for the day, which was very helpful to keep us on track to get all the photos we wanted. The day of the wedding she arrived early, kept us on schedule, and was so pleasant to be around all day. The people I hired to do my hair were late, so we were behind and when Susan arrived, my hair and makeup had not even been started yet. Somehow, Susan managed to keep us on schedule and get a lot of shots in our bridal suite, when we only had 10 or 15 minutes to spare before the ceremony began. She kept us on the exact schedule that we created for the entire day, even with Center City, Philadelphia traffic! Susan and her assistant were very organized all day. They were quick and efficient, especially when gathering different family members together for photos. Within less than a week, she sent us a sneak peak of our photos. I was expecting a couple of photos, but she gave us a bunch of her favorites and wrote a nice blog about our day! Everyone absolutely loves the photos and keeps asking me where I found my photographer. We were so lucky to have found her. My husband and I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos soon! We highly recommend hiring Susan for your wedding day!

Christine Sent on 10/19/2016Susan was one of the first people we booked for our wedding. From the start, she was very personable and responsive to all emails. She truly did her best to make the wedding process a little less stressful for us. Prior to the wedding, Susan made sure that the day was completely planned out for us and checked/re-checked the list of pictures we needed, and the ones we wanted. Susan made sure it ALL happened and was very flexible when we would add in an idea for a shot here and there, and was willing to add an extra hour on to her time the week before the wedding for us. My husband and I are not good with the "kissing pictures", however, Susan surprisingly made it incredible un-awkward for us. Susan completely understood that my husband and I did not want to be pulled out of the reception for pictures. We got them all completed prior to the cocktail hour so we could enjoy our night. We just received a sneak peek of our wedding pictures from almost 2 weeks ago and they are absolutely stunning. We cannot wait to see the other moments she captured from the best night ever!! -

She was so warm and cheerful that it was easy to relax while having our photographs taken. She made us feel extremely comfortable and was able to have fun with us. During my bridal shower, she took photos of everything from decor to guests to gifts all while being unintrusive. To top it off, her photographs were so stunning that it made me squeal with joy! Having a bad experience with another photographer for engagement photos made us hesitant for a session with another photographer, but Susan not only took amazing photos, but she made up for our past experiences with her personality, style and gorgeous pictures. Her turn around time for photos was very quick and she made sure to check in with us to make sure we loved everything that we received. Love is an understatement. Susan's work is proudly displayed in various rooms in our home! If you're looking for a photographer, look no further. Susan is honestly the best of the best!
