Happy Bride with the Perfect Photos

The photos taken by Derek and his wife are breathtaking! Hiring Sunshine Photographics to take my wedding photos was a great one! The picture are perfect and their customer service is excellent! Fantastic!

I can’t say enough about Derek and Lisa from Sunshine Photographics. The photos from our wedding came out absolutely perfect. The different poses and shots were so beautiful and creative. From the beginning of myself and the bridesmaids getting ready, all the way through to our exit from the reception. The list of my favorites is way too long to post. In addition, I had a large group of family and bridal party who were often hard to gather for pictures, but Derek and Lisa were very patient. I would recommend Sunshine Photographics to anyone getting married in the Orlando area or any other area they may service.

Sunshine Photographics far exceeded our expectations for capturing not just the pictures for our wedding, but they captured the journey as well. We met Derek at a Wedding Expo held at the Heathrow Country Club. My first impression of Derek was so peaceful and I could not forget the way he took his time with answering our questions. I knew right then this was the photographer for us. We also chose a Wedding Planner after the expo and even met with her recommendation for a photographer but in the end I did my utmost to convince my fiance that Derek was the one. My pictures were fabulous. I was so pleased that months later tears come to my eyes. Thank you Derek for being the professional and warm person that you are. it was an honor to include you in this celebration. My brother was also impressed with you. I would recommend Derek to anyone who asks. His work is impeccable and his manner, engaging. God bless you sir. Thank you for everything.

We heard about Derek and his wife through our wedding planner, and could not have asked for a better photographer for our wedding! Most importantly, the pictures came out fantastic. But he was great for a lot of other reasons too: he was very responsive and flexible, and was willing to capture all the different shots on our shot list. He worked quickly, so we stayed right on schedule and never got fatigued. He knew our videographer, too, so they were able to work well together and move smoothly throughout the day. Derek was in control the entire time and was around for all the moments I'd have hoped him to catch, plus he has a calming and relaxed personality so it wasn't as if he was taking attention away from our special day. I highly recommend you use Derek for your wedding!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Sunshine Photographics was recommended to us by Pavone Events and we were so happy to meet Derek and hire him. He immediately made us feel comfortable and understood our vision for our wedding day. We had an engagement shoot which was fantastic, as it got us prepared for our big day! Again, we felt comfortable and at ease the whole time. We were stunned with how our pictures turned out and this made us so excited for the wedding ones! They were fantastic and we had one printed to go on our gift table at the wedding, lots of people commented on how nice the photograph was! He arrived early to our wedding and captured all the ‘specific’ shots we had requested (plus many more). We keep watching the CD he sent to us with all our pictures, trying to decide which ones we love most but they are all so nice. Derek did a fantastic job and we would recommend him to anyone!

We had a wonderful experience working with Derek. Not only were his packages and prices competitive, but his interest in what we were looking for was spot on!! On our wedding day Derek and Lisa were there to make sure they captured everything from start to finish. Our family and friends were amazed at how discreet and unobtrusive they were and how they got the shots they did!! It was very cool to be able to see the pre-wedding shots as well as the ceremony photos on the screens at the reception!! And, to too everything off, we had all the proofs posted three days later!!

We had a great experience with Sunshine Photographics. So often at weddings you notice photographers for the WRONG reasons - they block everyone else's shot, they interrupt special moments to get a posed picture, they clash with another vendor trying to get your attention, etc. the team at Sunshine just blended into the background on our day. Yes, we got all of the standard family shots, wedding party and so on, but our most treasured pictures are the ones we had no idea were being taken. They were a total pleasure to work with!

I highly recommend Sunshine Photographics! We had a destination wedding, so as you can imagine, it can be nerve wracking to pic vendors in an area that is no where near where you live. When I was looking for a wedding photographer, I wanted someone who could capture the moment, and not just take the standard boring photos. Derek fit exactly the type of photographer I was looking for; he has an incredible vision, and is also willing to listen to your ideas and make them come to life. Our wedding photos and my bridal portraits are absolutely amazing! I receive compliments all the time on the photos that Derek took. He listened to what types of photos I was looking for; he gave suggestions and direction for our posed photos; he made it fun. We both had ideas of where we wanted photos taken at the venue, but there were other unplanned locations and ideas along the way. Derek (and Lisa) helped make the entire wedding day special, capturing so many amazing moments - both posed and candid. Derek photographed my bridal portraits, wedding photos, and seven years later when we were in Orlando again, without hesitation we used him for family photos. He did not disappoint! We will definitely continue to use him in the future! You will truly be more than happy with the quality and creativity of his photos, as well as his professionalism.

I have worked with Derek and his lovely wife Angie since our engagement photos back in 2007. They are professional, fun, creative and a joy to work with. We had a beautiful time having Sunshine Photographics do our wedding pictures both Derek and his wife went above and beyond to make sure they captured every single moment. Also the quality of the pictures was awesome and they had such cute ideas. We decided to book Sunshine Photographics because my fiancés (now husband) sister had used him at her wedding several years ago and had such a great experience. Derek and his wife Lisa are true professionals who work together quickly and efficiently to get beautiful pictures. They have been in the business for a long time and they only get better with experience. They are willing to take posing suggestions from the bride and groom, as well as incorporating their own personal style and creative touches into the shoot. My mother loved them both and fervently expressed her appreciation for Derek’s efficiency and calming demeanor. He moved smoothly through all of the family and bridal party shots prior to the ceremony, pulling different people in and out of shots with ease. He even pinned on each of the groomsmen’s boutonnières when we forgot completely about them! He uploaded our pictures quickly and they were waiting for us to view online (and the CD was at our door) before we even returned from the honeymoon. I cannot say enough great things about Sunshine Photographics and I am so happy that we chose them to document our special day.

Derek was awesome!!!! Everything was perfect, I did not have to think he did everything which is what every bride needs when you have so much going on. But he was also open to suggestions if any as well and incorporated them into the photos. He was very professional and easy going at the same time. You could tell he puts his clients first and cares about the end result. Loved his personality and cant say enough good things about our experience not to mention the price was great too, I have seen couples spend waaaay more on there pictures for there wedding and did not even turn out half as nice as ours did. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!!!!

Picking a photographer for our wedding was probably the hardest vendor choice for us. In addition to the concerns that every bride shares for wanting amazing pictures that will document the event’s key moment, my added concern was that my husband (then fiancée), generally refused to pose for pictures. Well those concerns were set to rest fairly quickly. My fiancée first met Derek for our schedule engagement session at Rollins College Campus in Winter Park. The two of them hit it off quite well and by the end of our session my fiancée was strutting and posing like a regular GQ model =D.
Our engagement pictures turned out great and the wedding pictures were just as awesome! Derek and his wife/assistant Lisa took some amazing, professional and creative photos and were able to capture the essence of our wedding. From key wedding highlights that we will look upon in years to come, to those unexpected photos of friends and family celebrating that the bride and groom are sometimes not privy to. The pictures all turned out amazing and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience and the results! Thank you, D & J

Derek shot my parents wedding 20 years ago, and has only gotten better with age. Did a lot of great things, but also made an effort to restage many pictures my wife wanted from places like Pinterest. The best part is before you sign anything he sits down with you to see what you are looking for and make sure he is the guy for the job. He also has his wife trained to not just be his assistant, but act as a second photographer when requested. Both are very friendly and well worth the money. He even is a great source for potential vendors that you might still be looking for.

All we can saw is... Wow!!! It was absolutely wonderful working with Derek (and Lisa!). Derek is an amazing photographer, so kind and wonderful to work with, sent us our engagement and wedding photos very quickly, and definitely met all of our personal needs - a true professional. We just received our wedding pictures DVD, and they are wonderful! You can see the proofs on his website for about 90 days. Please check them out! We couldn't be happier. :)

I am from Canada, and planned a wedding in Orlando, so had to cross my fingers and hope long distance planning would work out. This photography service, owned by Derek Smith, was listed as a preferred vendor on A Beautiful Ceremony, the officiating service I hired to perform my ceremony. After numerous emails with Derek, and seeing the photographs on his website, I was very confident I had chosen a great photographer, and was hopeful he could create beautiful photos for me (I am very self-critical of photos of me). My wedding was supposed to be outside, and unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, which was problematic as I am from Canada and not familiar with the area to know where I could relocate a wedding with a day's notice. Derek worked with Reverend Knox to find an alternate location, and was very reassuring that I would be happy with the new location. Derek couldn't have been more right, the location was stunning, actually provided a better backdrop for my pictures than my original choice! As for my photos....they are stunning, as self-critical as I am, Derek was able to make me feel that I was beautiful, my pictures are unique and breathtaking, he was able to capture "moments" in my photos. I may be as in love with my photos as my husband:) I can't say enough about Derek, he's professional, caring, reassuring, and very skilled at what he does. Highly, highly recommend him!

Derek has a way of capturing the atmosphere of the day! We now have photos and a book that allow us to go down memory lane just as we remembered it! We also worked with Derek on some informal photos that included family as well. All around positive experience!

Derek's artistic talent captured every moment of joy, spontaneity and emotion at my daughter's wedding. He is genuine(!) and felt like one of the family as he easily navigated the ceremony and reception. Each and every vendor was chosen by my daughter and myself based on how well they would fit into our idea of the perfect wedding. I could not have asked for a better photographer! Sunshine did everything we asked for and more! He worked amazingly well with our other vendors-basically organizing our day for us. Sunshine Photographics were AMAZING! They made everything so easy and effortless as they knew the venue inside and out and were able to get the best shots!! Derek and his wife did an unbelievable job. They were creative and took shots I could have never thought of myself. We have great pictures of the groom when he first saw me, and when I first start down the isle. Derek blended well with the guests, and if he say guests gathering for a group photo he was there taking one too! My guests really enjoyed seeing the ceremony photos at the reception, and just couldn't wait to see them all online. They didn't have to wait long. There were up a week later. Derek even stayed 2 hours longer than planned just to get a picture of us leaving in the limo. I have so many good pictures it is going to be hard to choose!

From the first call I knew I would use Derek's company. He was very knowledgeable, immediately had creative ideas and made me feel comfortable. He has packages to meet every need. The day of the wedding he showed up early, was right there from the first person pulling in. He took us to all of the best places for photos in the gardens and in his easy going manner got us to pose easily. We ended up with such quality photos they look like they should be in magazines. Within 1-2 days the photos were up online for us to share with family and friends and soon after received our HD Disc of photos. To say the least we are very pleased with the decision to use Sunshine Photographics in Orlando, FL. I can’t recommend him more.

Derek was great! So easy to work with and a great photographer. He took our engagement and wedding pictures. He had so many ideas and was open to suggestions as well. We were extremely happy with him and his work!!

Derek and his wife are amazing! Their pcitures are breathtaking! Both he and his wife made our special day amazing! He has everything set up and a schedule to help move things right along. For someone like me who wanted to get out and enjoy my guests, he made that happen without jeopardizing any important pictures! I couldn't recommend him enough.

Derek was amazing during the planning process, and throughout the event! I've heard many horror stories of friends' photographers getting in the middle of everything, just to get a shot. Derek and his wife were transparent throughout the entire wedding, getting shots we never thought were imaginable. Additionally, upon our return from our honeymoon, we had mail from Derek, containing all the images! Great job, Derek! Thanks for being so wonderful!!

Derek did a great job on our engagement photos and on our wedding day! He made us both look so natural in our photos because he was so quick and gave good direction. I am so glad to have our wedding day captured so beautifully!

I have nothing but exceptionally good things to say about Derek and Lisa at Sunshine Photographics. I chose them because the were recommended to me by a friend who had used them. I was not let down. First off they are very professional yet fun to work with. They made the whole process "upbeat, quick and painless." That is a quote from the groom who HATES having his picture taken. I really enjoyed how Derek would show me a shot or two he had just taken on the wedding day. It let me get a sneak peak at how awesome the pictures were coming out. I was so excited to see them after the wedding and low and behold they were emailed to me a couple days after the ceremony! How impressive! The photos were a nice balance between artistic and traditional photographs. Also I found the photos to be a great price for the quality. I am overly pleased with the whole experience of using Sunshine Photographics. I was blown away by my photos. They brought my husband and I to tears while flipping through them. Derek and Lisa do an excellent job of capturing the pure emotion on people's faces during the day. If you don't hire them good luck because they are the best!

Derek and Lisa are amazing photographers! They were able to capture all of the special moments throughout the day and didn't make us feel like they were even there. They were prompt in getting our photographs to us after the wedding and were very resonably priced for the excellent work that they do!! When they took our family pictures and candid shots in between the ceremony and reception they were fast, friendly, fun, and exceptional. The one thing that was important to us was having the pictures to capture the day and Sunshine Photographics was definitely worth it and I would recommend them to everyone.

It was a pleasure working with Derek from Sunshine Photographics because he is very professional but at the same time very personable. The photos came out BEAUTIFUL and even though we got over 1000 shots, it didn't take up alot of our time for group shots. I definately recommend Sunshine Photographics!

Derek was very easy to work with and our photos turned out great! He was very flexible and we were able to get most pictures we wanted. I loved how we didn't have to wait long to get our wedding CD too.

Derek and Lisa were AMAZING to work with for our wedding!! They were referred to us by a friend and at our first meeting I immediately knew they were going to be fantastic!! Derek remembered several of the shots I liked in their office and made sure to take them on the day of the wedding, even when I completely forgot! He was very calm, mellow and easy to work with. The staff at our venue love him and he was very comfortable and familiar with the venue and their staff, which helped a TON! Our pictures look absolutely wonderful and I cannot imagine our pictures looking any better. Thanks so much for all you did for us and for making our special day so memorable!!!

Derick and his wife were a fantastic duo to work with! They were very flexible and were willing to work in any picture I wanted them too. In fact I created a file of wedding poses and bridal party poses and they printed them out and made sure we got every one! I do wish my final product had been edited a little bit more but overall I was very pleased with the work that was done! Something that I think kind of sets them apart is that they give their client every picture they take which is pretty cool and nice to have. Great people!

Sunshine Photographics did a really good job at our wedding! Derek was great! I will suggest that if you have some ideas of photos you would like to have done, please tell him beforehand. It's not that he's not creative on his own, but I found that I was so much happier with his work since I had some previous ideas of what I wanted and I emailed him those ideas beforehand. When he showed up that morning, he had that email in his hand. Very impressive!

My husband and I were very disappointed with our wedding photos... If we had to change one part of our wedding unfortunately it would have been the photographer. We got married in December and this photographer came recommended and I also checked reviews and our experience was very poor. We are yet to share our wedding photos with our friend and family (6 months later!) because we had to send them to a professional to be photoshopped. We received 1,400 photos on a disc just 3 days after our wedding, very surprised to received the photos so shortly after but excited. When we uploaded the photos not on photo was brightened, eyes were shut in 50% of the photos, random objects in pictures, shadows everywhere. I contacted the photographer to see if maybe this was a preview and was informed this was the final edited product. The website we were told we could share with friends and family was just a disaster of 1,400 photos that actually had to be purchased even though we "owned" the photos and discussed this with the photographer before signing the contract,

We have received 3 professional opinions since receiving our wedding photos all saying that we should contact the photographer regarding the poor quality of these photos. We have paid an additional lump sum of money to get these photos professionally edited so that we have wedding photos to share. Some of them are the simple adjustment of lighting so you are able to see our faces. Overall very disappointing and I would highly NOT recommend. Our other vendors were absolutely wonderful so we chalked this one up as a loss and moved on.

This photographer was the absolute worst I have ever seen. I sometimes pull my album out and it brings tears to my eyes that this special day will never be viewed in the wonderful way it should. My main photo of my husband and myself at the church was shot with a huge vent over our heads, it was not corrected nor re-done and furthermore, some of the other shots taken actually were of my husband and me NOT showing my beautiful ring? It is amazing that their lack of care actually ruined the memories I have to look back on. I know it was 12 years ago, but my sister's upcoming marriage brings it all back and I feel complelled to let others know to PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS. They would NEVER get my recommendation for anything...ever.
