Summerall chapel was the perfect place for my husband and I to tie the knot. As a graduate of the citadel, he felt a strong connection to the venue, and I fell in love with the grandiose nature of the chapel, stained glass and beautiful wooden pews. Nancy Lefter, the coordinator, is incredible and we also had her as our organist (best decision ever!) she really made the ceremony and so many people raved about how incredible it was. -

My husband graduated from the Citadel and we knew that this was the only place we wanted to get married! Nancy was our coordinator and organist and she was responsive, helpful and played beautifully. The sexton helped keep everything on schedule.. the wedding began promptly at 3pm.. not sure what else I had expected from a military college :) !! Overall a wonderful experience and we did not find the rules burdensome at all, understand that they do up to three weddings on any given Saturday and keeping that in mind, all the so call 'restrictions' made sense and were easy to work around. I highly recommend the Summerall Chapel! -

The Citadel was an amazing place to have a wedding! The Summerall Chapel is beautiful and ornate! Nancy Lefter our organist and pretty much wedding coordinator was amazingly helpful!! She answered all my endless questions and got everything scheduled and organized for us. Our officiant, Chaplin David Golden, was also wonderful! He gave a wonderful and fitting wedding ceremony that we will remember and cherish always. Thank you so much! -

Absolutely beautiful chapel! Nancy Lefter was great to work with: prompt with information and very helpful with suggestions. The use of the chapel comes with a sexton, who acts as a wedding rehearsal and 'day of ceremony' coordinator. Our sexton was worth his weight in gold!! Our ceremony was seemless, stress free and perfect, all thanks to the sexton! -

This is truly a beautiful chapel to get married in! Nancy was so helpful with any question that I had, and even helped us when our officiant backed out on us a week prior to the wedding. She sent me a list with at least 50+ names of people that I could call. Again an awesome place to get married!! -

Mrs. Lefter is amazing! She is the main reason to book your wedding here. She was so professional and made the ceremony work flawlessly. We just showed up and she told us exactly what we needed to do but still gave me options to personalize my ceremony. She went above and beyond to meet with me a 8pm at night while I was in town on work so that I could feel comfortable that all the details were covered. She is also a wonderfully accomplished organist and made my day when she was able to play the piece I had picked out in college well before I had even met my husband. The Chapel is of course beautiful and the sextons who work the ceremony under her guidance are professional and bring an air of royalty to the ceremony. Well worth the cost and afforable considering high prices of other Charleston locations. -

As a graduate from The Citadel, I had always dreamed of having my wedding here. Little did I know my husband to be was extremely supportive and on board to invite our closest friends and family to this beautiful chapel to make this a reality. There is an extensive list of rules of what you can and can't have for your wedding, but that is mainly because there is a different wedding there every three hours on a normal Saturday. There really is not much need to decorate, because the chapel is beautiful as is. Everything was perfect! We were even able to pull some strings and make Citadel History by having the first all Female Sword Arch team for our wedding. :) -

Beautiful chapel! We got the date that we wanted and happened to be the only wedding that day as well. Nancy Lefter also helped us with some of the Catholic requirements for the ceremony, even though she isn't Catholic herself. I loved walking down that really long aisle.
Cost is a little high, though. Especially if you or your fiance are not alumni. -

Nancy Lefter is an excellent organist and she is also on top of things at the chapel. The sexton will also keep you on task and will help with the rehearsal and small details. No complaints about this site/vendor at all! Also, the place is absolutely, astoundingly beautiful... -

Since my husband graduated from The Citadel, we were able to use this huge Spanish-style classic chapel for our wedding. As a bride I loved how long the aisle is! They have a good many "rules" for music, decoration, and send-offs, mainly because there is a different wedding there every two hours on a normal Saturday. Also, as a military college they maintain some fairly strict standards. In my opinion, though, the strictness ended up producing great results in their "sexton" - who is a Citadel Cadet that coordinates all the participants at the rehearsal and the day of - because he was a life saver: from whipping all our attendants into shape to straightening my veil he was spectacular. The final cost below includes the chapel, sexton, and music. -

This is a very expensive place if you aren't an alumni. The organizer that they use was very helpful. -
