Very Professional Services and Beautiful Venue

I had an appreciation event for my clients on July 3rd. I was so impressed with the details from beginning to end. I asked for fresh flowers as center pieces. Let me just say, the decor was amazing!!! Khaleema, the owner/manager, truly out did herself. Her staff (bartender and servers especially) were very professional and on point. The food was delicious and everything was done with the utmost professionalism. I love the decor in the bathroom. The personal touch is very unique and embracing. My clients were pleased and two of them will be using the venue for future events. This place is a venue that you will not regret having your events there.

Beautiful facility with an amazing staff

I rented this facility on June 30, 2019 for my daughter's gender reveal celebration. I can't say enough about how beautiful and clean this facility is. From the drappings to the linens to the chandeliers, it really is a exquisite facility. From beginning to end the staff was professional and absolutely welcoming. They really ensured our experience there was great. I appreciate mostly Khaleema, the owner, for her professionalism, patience and individual time taken to ensure this day was perfect. I highly recommend this facility. I cannot to have my 50th birthday party there in October! Just a note: the prices here are reasonable and Khaleema really helped us to cater our budget for an amazing event.

SugahPlum Events outdid themselves per usual! Everyone is still swooning over the gorgeous decor for both the ceremony and reception. Khaleema and her team did a great job highlighting the true essence of the venue with the perfect decor. They made our vision for our wedding a beautiful reality. They assisted with every detail and made our day stress free!

Don't ever use this company!!!

I have never written a review for any business, Never!

But when I tell you how compelled I am to put pen to paper and write this review. And it is all because of the owner, who was soooooo rude!!!

So last Saturday night, my girlfriend hosted a retirement dinner for her husband at Sugahplums. This event facility is located at the intersection of Old National Hwy and Jonesboro Road/ Hwy. 138 across the street from former home owner Evander Holyfield.

My biggest disappointing take away was the owners lack of professionalism. To exhibit being a professional, is easy! It simply means you are trained and skilled in your craft. You exude confidence,...

But when I tell you how compelled I am to put pen to paper and write this review. And it is all because of the owner, who was soooooo rude!!!

So last Saturday night, my girlfriend hosted a retirement dinner for her husband at Sugahplums. This event facility is located at the intersection of Old National Hwy and Jonesboro Road/ Hwy. 138 across the street from former home owner Evander Holyfield.

My biggest disappointing take away was the owners lack of professionalism. To exhibit being a professional, is easy! It simply means you are trained and skilled in your craft. You exude confidence, and at the very least you meet the needs of your paying patrons, as well, you need to be a kind-hearted person, working in the hospitality business. Of which, she was none of these! She doesn’t need to be in the hospitality industry at all!

Below are a few bullets summarizing just some of the owners oversights. Missteps. And her obvious, just didn’t give a damn flaws.

The Owners flaws: (just to name a few)
The owner only allowed us to come in the facility to set up one hour prior to the event starting. WTF!!!! This was for over 100 people.
Guest were late….. and lost….. because the owner failed to communicate 6 weeks ago that the invitations needed to have “Fairburn, Ga.” On them. Otherwise , the gps was taking people in circles.
The host paid for chairs that the owner didn’t provide. ( …and no reimbursement)
Dirty Restroom
Dirty Kitchen
Kitchen equipment was very dated.
Promised access to kitchens warmers. None on the site.
A quarter of the facility was still under construction.
Floors unfinished
Not waxed
Unpainted base boards
Unfinished dropped ceiling
Unskilled and rude Bar Tender.
The hired help ate the catered food.
The owner stayed at the event the entire evening, behind the bar. nd all night, at the event, like a bump on a log.
No up lights, as promised.
Didn’t give the retirement party their cut/boxed cake. SHE KEPT IT!

1.)The Owner Kalema Or Calema however you spell it has the WORST customer service ever. Her attitude is horrible she is very unprofessional. Was not welcoming at all
2.) The kitchen is NASTY very unsanitary she had a pair of Sparkly Pumps On a rack where utensils were held! The refrigerator is disgusting is looks like he came from a dump.
3.) Our function started at 6 o'clock the restroom was out of Tissue no paper towels bathrooms trash can was full from a previous even the day before! & KALEMA OR CALEMA HAD THE AUDACITY TO HAVE A ATTITUDE CAUSE I TOLD HER SHE...

4.) The Gentleman that she brought along to help serve or guest was in the kitchen eating our fried chicken! BEFORE THE EVENT STARTED!!! we had no problem offering food to the gentleman however, to sneak and it the food while your suppose to be setting up is unsanitary and unprofessional.
5.)We made a mistake and left cake her the facility the next morning we called to get the cakes only to find they had been eaten which Kalema failed to tell us.
6.) Once our even started Kalema left came back 30 min later fully dressed and hovered over or event. Who does that???
7.) OVERALL the facility could be better if she actually deep cleaned the place!!!
8.)She LIED ABOUT THE NUMBER OF SEATING
9.)The Bartender she recommended showed up a hour late also with a horrible and didnt want to serve our guest what we actually had. A drink wasnt displayed as requested....kalema probably threw it away or hid it who knows🤷🏽‍♀️
10.)DONT COME HERE!!!! LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING....... WE DO EVENTS ALL THE TIME NEVER HAVE WE HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS
