Adena is the real deal!!

Adena is an absolute dream to work with and a true talent -- do yourself a favor and hire her for your wedding!! My husband and I are blown away by her ability to capture the candid moments and real emotions of our wedding day without being intrusive at all (a big concern for us). Her organizational skills are unmatched and she helped plan our wedding day timeline and keep us on schedule the entire time. She's the calm, cool and collected person you want with you on your wedding day. We were not especially comfortable in front of the camera at first, but Adena knew exactly how to help us relax and act like ourselves. The engagement shoot was a huge help! Now we have these incredible, amazing photos that really look and feel like us as individuals and a couple -- we will cherish them forever. Thank you, Adena!!

The Full Package!

Adena at Studio A Images was the absolute best. Period. End of sentence. She is a professional in every sense of the word and our wedding went so smoothly in no small part due to the experience she brought to the table. Leading up to the wedding, she was incredibly responsive over email and did a really great job of not only helping us to structure the timeline for our day to minimize stress and scrambling, but also rolling with the punches if we had any questions or last minute changes in our plans. The day of the wedding, Adena and her second photographer Laura did a fantastic job of keeping everything running smoothly and on schedule. From the getting ready pictures to the couple and wedding party pictures to the family portraits, Adena did a great job of corralling so many people to efficiently get the shot. I just felt like I was in really good hands the entire time, especially given that the weather forecast introduced some unpredictability to the day. Despite that, Adena always had a plan and had an amazing eye for getting some incredible shots - sometimes planned and sometimes impromptu. Her candid shots were also everything; they really captured the energy of the party and so many of them bring a smile to my face that I know I’m going to have a bear of a time picking which ones to put in a photo album - it might just be all of them.
To make a very long story short, Adena’s communication, professionalism, and flexibility made it easy for me to trust her with photographing our wedding and that took so much potential stress out of the equation. I really hope to work with Adena again in the future because I really think she is the full package.

Fantastic photos and wonderful professionalism

We were thrilled with Adena's work as our wedding photographer! She was super professional and helpful in the lead-up to the big day, allowing us to feel at ease. She helped us determine a timeline that would make sense and even checked out our venue ahead of time to make sure we could be as efficient as possible. At the wedding, she got every shot we wanted and captured tons of blink-and-you'd-miss-them moments at just the right time. She helped us capture all of our photos efficiently while still allowing us to feel like the moments were special. While handling family and group photos, she knew exactly how to corral people and arrange them so that we could get what we needed without cutting into party time. We received numerous compliments about her, including from guests who are themselves photographers!
After the event, she sent a few early favorite photos the next day so that we would have some immediate moments to relive and share. And she was prompt with the delivery of the rest of the photos.
And, possibly most importantly of all, every photo is incredible!!

Hire adenda now! The best.

Adena was a breath of fresh air in the wedding industry! After meeting with too many photographers that wanted to tell us what our day should be like and what we should care about, Adena’s approach of it being our day and vision, and that there are no requirements of what that should “have” to be, made me and my now husband feel so comfortable.
We wanted our photos to feel lively and like us and not like overly retouched strangers and Adena and her second photographer really delivered. They managed to be completely in the mix all night capturing every laugh and tear and yet I did not notice them at all. They seamlessly blended into the day in a way that we could just enjoy ourselves without feeling like we were constantly being stopped to pose or go do something.
For our more traditional staged and group photos before the wedding, we had 14 members of our bridal party, both sets of parents, additional siblings, 8 nieces and nephews under the age of 12, and our dog…it was not a small task to wrangle this crew and get all of the pictures – they were so efficient that we finished with extra time to spare to relax before the ceremony!
I loved Adena’s honest and straightforward approach to her work, she made us feel like we could just be ourselves and that she was on our team to make sure we had the day we envisioned.
The photos we received from our engagement session and wedding are BEYOND FABULOUS. I am struggling to pick what photos to print and what to put in an album because there are too many that I love. Not a bad problem to have.

Phenomenal photographer and so much more

Adena is the very best for about a million reasons, book her and you’ll be glad you did. First, of course she’s insanely talented her work speaks for itself. She has such an amazing eye for really unique shots, finding the perfect lighting and angles and won’t hesitate to get her hands dirty to get it just right. No but literally, she got completely belly down on the ground at both our engagement and wedding shoots and the results were nothing short of stunning. It was amazing and to me sums up how passionate Adena is about her art and her clients. It’s what truly sets her apart because it’s just who she is as a human - kind, patient, hilariously witty, quick on her feet to problem solve and overall just a peaceful, positive energy during what can be a stressful day. I would pay double just for how calm and focused she kept me which is no small feat with me. She’s prepared to deal with any potential photo snafu from buttons to boutonnières, you can trust her with it all. Plus she can people wrangle like no other which an absolute gift when you have a large wedding party including small children and challenging family members.

I’d love to take credit for finding Adena but we met at my sister’s 2020 micro wedding and then the following year at the formal ceremony and reception. We hit it off so well (has she ever met a stranger? I don’t think so.) and I was impressed with how on the ball she was during what was certainly an abnormal couple of wedding seasons to say the least. So at this point she’s basically a part of the family having captured these big moments and I look forward to having her capture a whole bunch more.

Fantastic wedding photographer!

We had a great experience with Studio A Images and I highly highly recommend Adena. I loved our engagement photos, and it was fun getting to know Adena before the wedding. It was great having her and Laura by our side on the wedding day and everything ran so smoothly. They made us feel comfortable and beautiful. We got the pictures back two weeks before I expected them, and they are STUNNING. It was raining so we couldn’t go outside, but Adena and Laura arrived early and picked out a lot of pretty spots around the hotel for pictures that I would have never thought of. Adena also gave me recommendations for other vendors, and sent us to iReserve, which was the other best decision we made. 10/10!!!

Absolutely Incredible Photographer

Our wedding was in October 2022 and we booked Studio A Images in early 2021. As two grooms with some significant body image issues and very opinionated families, to say that we both were nervous about photographers would be an understatement. Adena assuaged all of that. From the first planning conversation (and all subsequent ones) to our engagement shoot to our wedding itself, Adena worked to make sure that we were comfortable, at ease, and confident as we went through our day. After we booked with her, she even sent us a little welcome package with some friendly wedding reminders and some surprise gifts. On the day of our wedding, some unforeseen circumstances meant that we arrived at the venue about forty-five minutes after we were scheduled to do so. Adena was ready to go with our list of photos and ran a tight ship that we still got everything done five minutes ahead of schedule. She helped make sure everything was clearly and efficiently communicated to wedding party and family so everyone knew where they had to be and when to make all photos as smooth as possible. During the reception, she captured so many small (but significant) moments that made us so excited to see as we flipped through each picture. At all stages, she was extremely prompt and timely with getting each deliverable back to us, most of which, before they were contractually due. The photos themselves were beautifully shot, edited, and framed. Adena captured the authenticity of our day and our love and presented it fantastically. Now that we have our album, we cannot stop looking at it. We could not be more thankful.

Absolute best decision for photographer

I can't say enough good things about Adena and Studio A Images. From the first phone call with Adena, we knew that she was the right choice for our wedding photographer. Rather than rattling off a pre-written list of things that *would* be photographed for us, Adena was interested in getting to know us -- our unique personality as a couple and as individuals -- and what we were most interested in having captured on our wedding day. The result of that personal touch and thought shines through in our wedding photos, which are objectively beautiful pictures but also so uniquely "us".

We also can't overstate how helpful Adena was in making our wedding day run smoothly. As someone who had photographed at our venue (Liberty House) before, she was full of suggestions and helpful tips - from the hotel we should choose for great first look photos, to a flawless timeline, and so much more. She and her #2 (Laura) showed up on time - early actually! - on the day of and kept things running more-than-smoothly. One of our favorite parts of the day was our doing couples photos together, which felt so easy and fun to do together -- we owe that to the vibes Adena and Laura brought.

Adena managed our massive bridal party, family, and friends (210 guests) with ease and was so organized that we ran ahead of schedule and had time to fully relax and take in the moment before walking down the aisle. We are so grateful we chose Studio A Images as our wedding photographer and so highly recommend to anyone! We love our photos and loved working with her.

Adena is Amazing!

Adena was our photographer for our wedding and she was simply amazing. She is passionate about her craft and brought in great enthusiasm and joy to the process from beginning to end. Adena always leaned in to what we wanted. She helped us navigate logistics and provided sound advice on different ideas we had. On the day of our wedding, Adena helped us to keep calm and to simply enjoy the beautiful moments she was capturing. So Nice We Booked Her Twice!

I don't know what I can say about Adena, other than that she's absolutely fantastic. We have used her services twice already. Once for mine and my husband's original wedding (a smaller family only ceremony during the height of the omicron wave), and the larger wedding reception this past weekend. The two events could not have been more different and she handled them both equally beautifully. She got us back our entire edited gallery of pictures for the first wedding in LESS THAN A WEEK!!!! She's so wonderful at managing time and keeping people in check as well as managing family dynamics during the whole process. She really listened to what my husband and I wanted and captured it beautifully. she even managed to capture beautiful photos of our wiggly toddler and energetic dog! She is thorough, her rates are reasonable and fair given the high caliber of work she produces and she's also just a downright lovely person.

Absolute perfection, dream to work with, fabulous photos

Adena deserves 10 stars! She was a dream to work with: before, during and after our wedding. She listened so attentively during our pre-wedding calls and she was incredibly organized in capturing all our preferences. She even scouted a new photo shoot location for us when our original location went under construction. We felt so comfortable signing up with her, and on the day of the wedding she set us right at ease. It was a perfect start to our wedding day, having her coaching us through getting ready, first look, and portraits. She mingled seamlessly throughout our ceremony and reception, navigating around other vendors and capturing all the candids. The preview shots we saw the next day were spectacular, as were all the photos that followed - and she delivered everything precisely on schedule. We ended up with a fabulous collection of priceless wedding memories immortalized in her photographs. I would recommend Adena to everyone for any and all events or photo shoots. We are planning to get anniversary photos with her every time we’re back on the east coast - she has earned our loyalty and we’ll consider her a friend for life.

Could not be happier with Studio A Images, especially in a season of turmoil

Adena at Studio A Images was fantastic to work with. She did our engagement photos and wedding photos, and was an incredible pleasure to work with on both occasions. 5 Stars Just Isn't Enough

Hiring Adena was the best decision we made while wedding planning. She was such a pleasure to work with and was extremely professional and friendly the entire time. Adena is not only an excellent photographer but also a great person to talk to about everything wedding related (plus she has great dessert tips). Adena made sure to get to know us during every conversation we had and during our engagement shoot. Simply the best!

My husband and I first heard of Studio A Images from our venue's preferred vendor list, and I am so glad that we did. From the start, Adena was quick to respond to all of our questions and to help us to better understand what we were looking for in a wedding photographer (regardless of whether or not we chose her). It helped that she was familiar with our venue, but it's clear that her level of experience would translate to anywhere. When we decided to postpone our reception to 2021 due to COVID-19, Adena once again came through big. She swapped out our dates without hesitation (or fees!), and since we still wanted to get married on our original date, we hired Studio A Images to photograph that as well. Further proving that she was our guardian photo angel, Adena met with us one morning a few weeks before the wedding to walk around our new site to pick out photo spots. The day looked the way that it did all because of her! Throughout our day with her on 8/7, Adena provided excellent directions, and our photos came out beautifully! It's actually been difficult for me to choose which ones I want to have printed because I love so many of them. I would 110% recommend Studio A Images for any photography needs you might have. We will be hiring Adena for all of our future portrait sessions without question!

From the first inquiry email to receiving the final photos, working with Adena was effortless and enjoyable. As a queer interfaith couple, it was important for us to find a wedding photographer who understood us. Adena was, in a word, amazing! Studio A and Adena are amazing!

The minute we met Adena we knew she was the photographer we wanted to work with. Talented, kind, experienced - she is balanced in that she has ideas but was also very willing to work with ours. Incredible! Easy to work with, stunning photos!

We met Adena at a wedding expo and knew shortly after that we wanted to work with her. She knew within minutes the look we were going for, and in both our engagement session and the wedding itself she did everything in her power to go above and beyond. She is incredibly talented, clearly did her research on the venue, and was willing to listen and work with photos we had wanted as well. She made a point to learn what was important to us, and all of the photos she took came out incredible. If I had to do everything over I would pick her again in a heartbeat. I cannot recommend Adena highly enough.

Beyond Our Wildest Expectations! Supreme.

I really can't say enough wonderful things about Adena. From the outset, she is pure professionalism, warmth, and creativity. Adena took our wedding photos at Celebrate Harbor on Staten Island and she is such a pleasure to work with. I usually feel awkward around photographers but Adena is so experienced and down-to-earth that you almost forget you're being photographed. Adena is INCREDIBLY THOROUGH, asking that you fill out a form to list exactly who you want to have photographed (or not), VIP family/friends, etc., so that she won't miss a thing. And not only does she capture anything and everything you ask for, she's brilliant at taking the stealth romantic, intimate moments between you and your partner. Absolutely brilliant. We were just overjoyed at the results. I would recommend Adena in a heartbeat. Again and again.

It was a snap.

We were married this past summer and used Adena as our wedding photographer. We really enjoyed working with her from the beginning and appreciated the time she took to get to know us and our vision for our wedding. She is easy to talk to and asked the right questions not making any assumptions about traditional wedding practices. She has experience with same-sex weddings and tailors her approach to each client. She sent us our photos within the time frame promised with links to share with family and friends and we are very happy with the quality of her work. We would definitely recommend her and would use her again in the future for other celebratory occasions.

We loved working with Adena. She was extremely professional, flexible, and responsive. We were planning a wedding long distance and she was more than willing to work with us over the phone and with flexible scheduling. On our wedding day she was prepared and organized and she got some great shots! We loved how our pictures turned out and she made us feel very comfortable while taking our pictures. We could not have been happier with our experience with Studio A. Adena is not only very professional but very warm as well. She made us feel very comfortable during all of our shoots and was very clear during the contract portion of the engagement. No unwanted surprises and plenty of welcomed ones. I could not say enough good things about Adena and Studio A Images that would adequately convey how I feel about feel about the work she does. I saught Adena after I had a rough experience with engagement pictures. I planned my wedding predominantly from afar, so working with vendors had been a pain point for me. Working with Adena was truly a pleasure. She was friendly, super detailed, and organized. I never wondered if she was going to get back to me or if I had forgotten anything. I know she's a busy photographer but she always made me feel that #1 client.

Having Adena and her assistant around for my actual wedding felt more like having a good friend by my side. And that is really where Adena shined. The pictures she ended up creating for us felt personal, authentic, detailed, and exactly how I remember the day. This is in large part because Adena "got us". She didn't force us to do something that wouldn't be representative of the wedding vibe we wanted but she nudged us to try things we wouldn't have necessarily done on our own.

Adena is all about the customer experience!

From the get-go, Adena made the process very easy on us. We hired her for our wedding day pictures. She was very real and authentic over the phone, something that other photographers in the area seemed to lack. It was like talking with a friend rather than a vendor.

To build on that friendship feel, Adena requests meeting all clients prior to the engagement. Instead of meeting in a corporate office feel, we met at a bar in town, and really got to know each other better. This made us very comfortable once the big day came.

On our wedding day, she quickly gave us a run down of what we were going to do, and followed our shot list to a T. It was quick, enjoyable, and we can't wait to see the final product!

Adena is fantastic to work with - she is ultra-responsive and hyper-aware of the details, while remaining flexible. She shot both our engagement session as well as our reception, and we were extremely pleased with both sets of photos! Her pricing is affordable and the value of the end product is high. We also appreciated that she was enthusiastic about our less-than-traditional wedding plans (we had a micro-destination wedding in New Orleans, then a larger reception in Hoboken). On the day of the reception, it was clear that her number one priority was that we were at ease and enjoying ourselves. We couldn't recommend Studio A more!

Deciding which photographer to hire was initially a daunting task since photography styles vary greatly. Adena's photojournalistic style was exactly what we were looking for. After talking with her on the phone for our first consultation, we knew we wanted Adena to be our wedding photographer. She is warm and personable, immediately putting you at ease when you talk with her; I immediately felt like we were friends instead of a client and vendor. She patiently answered all our questions and accommodated any requests easily. Additionally, we were impressed by her professionalism -- she is always at the location before you and has already scoped out all the best areas to photograph with the light that is available that day. We're so pleased with both the engagement and wedding photos she took. She captured all of the people and type of photos of our wedding that we requested.

In short, you won't regret working with Adena for your event! We would definitely work with her again in the future (and we hope to be able to!).

I am so happy I found Adena from Studio A Images to do our wedding photography for our 10/7/17 wedding in Morristown NJ. Prior to finding her, I was overwhelmed in my search for a photographer - finding them all to be like cheap salesmen who were uncharging me and just wanted by business. From the first conversation we had, Adena put me at ease as she was calm, helpful, not pushy and down to earth. She was flexible to work within my budget and made my husband and I feel like valued clients throughout the process. I wanted to enjoy my wedding and with Adena's help I did just that! She was organized for all of our pre-wedding portraits and then disappeared into the crowd while managing to get all of the right shots throughout the ceremony and reception. And the quality .... AMAZING!! She captured so many intimate, genuine and quality (and funny!) moments without guests even knowing she was there on the dance floor! She will not disappoint!

My daughter got married May 28, 2017 – a large wedding at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, NJ. Adena Stevens at Studio A Images was the photographer. She brought another professional photographer (not just an assistant), and together they stayed for 9 hours! They were both top notch and we were 100% pleased with the way the day went and how the photos came out. They were able to catch precious moments in an unbelievable fashion. The getting ready photos, the “first look”, the bride and groom outdoors before the wedding, the formal photos, the Ketubah signing, everyone walking down the aisle, the entire ceremony, the cocktail hour, the still photos of the décor and setup, the entire reception, speeches, dancing, cutting the cake, etc. – all great!!!

Not one complaint! We loved Adena! Her understated, quiet way of getting the picts was amazing. You hardly knew a photographer was there! Dealing with her during the wedding and after the event was a pleasure. Our albums are more than we could have hoped for! Adena’s patience and dedication to perfection made her the best choice for this important occasion!

And I forgot to mention the engagement picts, included in her very reasonably priced package, came out fantastic – they really captured the love felt! She let my daughter and then fiancé choose any location – they chose Central Park – and dedicated nearly a whole afternoon to getting hundreds of pictures! You can’t go wrong booking Adena Stevens at Studio A Images (for any occasion).

My husband and I found Adena at Studio A Images after much searching. As a gay couple planning to get married in Hoboken, NJ, we were looking for a photographer with experience on both of those fronts--we didn't want our wedding to be anyone's guinea pig. When we came across Adena's website, it felt like a godsend. Her portfolio included many same-sex couples, and each couple seemed to be represented through their own unique tastes and styles, nothing felt "packaged" or filtered through a manufactured aesthetic--and what's more, she was a local. When we spoke with Adena by phone we were impressed by her ability to use non-gendered language when discussing our plans (so many other vendors were fixated on who was 'the bride'). Adena continued to impress us throughout the entire planning process, with conscientious suggestions and assurances that were always spot-on. On the day of the wedding rain loomed and a few unavoidable issues came up with other vendors, but Adena's photography was the one factor we were not worried about. She navigated our pre-wedding pictures expertly, managing 25+ family members all while keeping calm and focus, and keeping us calm and focused as well. At the wedding ceremony and reception she managed to be everywhere and nowhere at once-- totally unobtrusive, but also capturing every special moment, including many we did not get the chance to witness ourselves until we saw her photographs. We recently received the photographs of the day and are beyond thrilled with the work. Everything we like about Adena's photography is there: attention to detail that is editorial-worthy, candidness that is documentary-like, and composition that is flawless. I unequivocally recommend her work.

Working with Adena was an absolutely pleasure! She recently covered our intimate wedding, and did the most amazing job. Not only did she put up with two late brides, she braved the July sun and somehow managed to make us both feel comfortable in front of the camera. Adena made a point to do as much as she could before the big day - from meeting with us in-person, asking about certain details before the wedding, and scoping out the site of our ceremony - and it showed in how seamless our wedding day was. Adena and her team at Studio A Images were simply incredible. They did a wedding for a friend whose pictures I adored, and I was so glad they were available for our wedding! The pictures capture the very essence of our day, Adena's attention to every detail helped her capture everything from rings to centerpieces to stolen smiles and kisses. These photos come alive so much that I don't even need a video. Adena was an amazing photographer! We used her for our wedding memorial day weekend 2017. All the pictures from the engagement session and wedding came out fantastic! She was always super fast to respond and really took the time to get to know what kinds of pictures we wanted to get. During our ceremony, no one even noticed she was taking pictures and she was able to capture some really great moments! Because we had a large wedding (200 guests), she recommended a second photographer. Her colleague, Laura, was also amazing. The two of them worked really well together. We were amazed at how many pictures we got back and Adena also had no problem making small photoshop edits. She was very professional, but also very personable. Everyone felt very at ease and no one was "too stiff" during the formal portraits. Could not recommend her enough.

I first found Adena list from an ad online and after looking at her pictures she immediately moved me. Her pictures were thoughtful, focused, creative, and they clearly show her expertise as a true artist. There is so much more to taking pictures than most people know and Adena is completely aware of her environment, her subjects and her work. She is a perfectionist but is very open- minded and can makes changes easily .

We were photographed at a winery and some shots were more difficult than others but Adena make us comfortable and she took the most amazing shots of us . Even with my photo shy partner she was able to completely bring out our personalities in every shot . We couldn't have been happier with our pictures , our day and now our photographer. Everyone who sees our pictures comments on our photographer and they all say she is really amazing and we both concur . She will definitely take all of our photo opts in the future .

Adena was wonderful in every way. She was a calming presence that I did not know I'd need on our wedding day. Her pictures capture the emotion and feeling of the day. And, she is the most unobtrusive but thorough photographer. Many people barely knew she was there but she shot tons of amazing pictures. Adena was always available to talk and adhered to all of timelines that were set (i.e. during the wedding day but also in terms of when pictures would be available). Sometimes she was even ahead of schedule. I really do not have a single complaint about Adena's service and product. I wholeheartedly recommend her and I am sure we will hire her again in the future for family milestones.

Adena was absolutely wonderful! She has a natural
talent. We didn't do engagement photos with her, but she still felt very strongly about meeting us prior to the wedding to get to know us as a couple. She came to our town to meet us for dinner to get to know us and what we would want in pictures. She also hadn't been to our venue in several years so she actually went to the venue a few weeks before the wedding to scope out good areas for first look photos and bridal party photos and sent me ideas. Initially, we were reluctant to do an engagement shoot (even though it was included in our package) because we didn't really want the pictures, but she convinced us to and we're so glad we did! Adena was amazing to work with. She did a wonderful job on our engagement photos and did a stunning job with our wedding day photos. We were married in January during winter storm Jonas and Adena went above and beyond for us in every way. She showed up to our venue hours ahead of schedule and became more than just our photographer, but therapist and event planner as she began helping coordinate the events of the day. She was super flexible and when it was clear that some of our photo destinations were not accessible due to weather she found unique photo ops in and around the hotel. She even went so far as to show up the next day to our rescheduled ceremony. The photos came out gorgeous, and to anyone considering Studio A, Adena is a gem and was such a pleasure to work with. Adena was attentive, incredibly professional, and everything we wanted. We loved Studio A Images immediately because Adena responded to all emails promptly and continued to respond to questions and requests right away through the day of our wedding.
She helped us plan out our photo shot list to get exactly what we wanted and to help manage our expectations of how much could be done in the time allotted. On the day of the wedding, she arrived early and worked with us to go through the posed photos quickly. I can honestly say I don't remember seeing her at all during the ceremony or after the posed photos - and that's the highest compliment I can give a photographer - she was so stealth!
We got the pictures quickly, a few weeks after the wedding, and I couldn't believe all the great candid shots she got. All of the guests were photographed and my mom was so excited that she finally was able to get a picture with all of her grandkids – something that hasn’t been able to do at past events. Everything was absolutely perfect and I would highly recommend Studio A Images for any event.

After meeting with 3-4 photographers, we chose Adena. We loved the photos posted online and the albums that she showed us at our initial consultation. She had photographed the weddings of several same sex couples and captured the romance and beauty of their special day. It was important for us to choose a photographer who was comfortable photographing a same sex couple and she was. She was experienced professional who made us feel comfortable behind the camera. She included a photo session before our wedding in our package. That gave us an opportunity to get accustomed to her style and for her to get a better feel for us. The fact that she really understood us was captured in the photographs that she took at our ceremony and reception. We absolutely loved our photos. She seemed to know exactly the shots that would be most meaningful to us during the entire day. She also took the most fun shots of our guests at the reception which made the photo collection of our special day a true reflection of all of the joy and fun we had. Adena was exceedingly professional and low key but also determined to get every shot we asked for.

We so loved working with Adena. My husband and I knew that pictures were so important to us, but both of us hate posing, and I have a killer resting bitch face that is challenging to work around. Adena gave us exactly what we were looking for - emotional images that really captured the spirit of the day without too much reliance on stiff, cheesy poses. Adena made us feel at ease and captured our day beautifully. We were initially against doing engagement pictures but did so at her behest to help her get to know us, our angles and how we could best be captured and I'm thankful we did so.

Adena's pricing was also incredibly reasonable compared to other vendors we spoke with, and her timelines for getting us images were much shorter. Adena was so great that the task of narrowing down photos for our wedding album is truly a harrowing one. There are so many beautiful moments and images to choose from we don't even know where to start.

Your trust will not be misplaced in Adena and her associates. Cannot recommend Studio A Images highly enough!

We have had a delightful experience working with Adena & Studio A Images. It was important to us not to take big chunks of our day to take pictures - we wanted to eat and drink and enjoy the day with our friends and family! Adena was the perfect choice for us. She captured our posed photos efficiently, providing helpful but not overly long direction about positioning, etc. She took the time before the wedding day to get to know us and our preferences. Like most pros in this business, she offers the opportunity for the bride and groom to dictate which shots are important, etc, but she doesn't make you do her job for her in this respect: she knows how to find the best shots without being micromanaged! We wanted the key family photos, of course, but otherwise, we just wanted her as an invisible force documenting the day's events and capturing special, candid moments. Adena was happy to deliver. She was prompt, professional and friendly. She went above and beyond in several ways, including some details - like making sure I removed my hair tie from my wrist before walking down the aisle, which I would have forgotten and which would have been in my pictures forever (whoops!). She has a great eye for detail. We lucked out with a beautiful, sunny day (and she took full advantage of that for photos), but we had the impression that she would have camped out in a blizzard if necessary to make sure she got there early. She really provided some much-needed guidance for this relatively low maintenance bride and groom, and we are looking forward to having our photos to cherish forever as a result of her great work! I'm so glad we contracted Studio A Images for our wedding. Adena was an amazing addition to our wedding day and the photos she provided us are priceless! From the moment Adena arrived to our venue that morning she was professional and extremely helpful to me and my wedding party. She knew exactly what time I needed to start getting into my dress (who knew the corset would take that long), she knew exactly how to wrangle the groomsmen and politely tell the best man to get lost right before our first look photos. It was just a complete pleasure to have at our special day. One moment that stands out the most is once it came to the time during our reception that her job was done she checked in with us to make sure she took any final shots we wanted. A few moments after we said our goodbyes to her a song came on that was from my husband's culture and EVERYONE got on the dance floor to dance to it. Adena came running back to get photos of it! I was soooo happy she heard it and knew that it would be a special moment to capture on film. I cannot recommend Adena enough for your wedding, call her today! :)

Adena was the photographer for our outdoor wedding. From our initial meeting until getting the final photos she was wonderful in her level of service and attention to detail. She placed a priority on getting to know our personalities in order to determine the style of photography we expected. On the wedding day she was prompt, prepared, and remained focused to achieve all of our photography goals without compromising the enjoyment of our day. Adena is fantastic. Not only did she take amazing photographs, but truly got to know us as a couple so that she could capture our personalities and make sure that our photographs were authentic and reflected us. I highly recommend doing an engagement shoot - it helped everyone get to know each other and get us comfortable being photographed. Adena was always available by email to answer my questions, and was happy to talk on the phone to go over everything before the wedding.

Having Adena there on my wedding day was like having a friend there with us. She checked in with us frequently and it was comforting having someone we already knew there with us to capture all of the important moments. She even helped bustle my dress! I would definitely hire her again and would recommend her to everyone!

Adena is not just an incredible photographer; she's organized, professional, and a perfect additive to a bride or groom's morning. The day can get a bit frenetic, but Adena has a way of keeping everyone calm and punctual, and makes sure everyone is comfortable with her work. She provides an outline of photographs the couple and family wish to take ahead of time so that every shot we really wished to have on our wedding day was captured. She'll go to really fun lengths to get gorgeous shots ( we climbed on rocks in the water!) Adena has a particular eye for capturing special moments, and made sure they were presented beautifully. Her coworkers are equally as professional and talented, and they made my wedding day even more special. I really can't recommend Studio A Images enough. I am so grateful to have had such an incredible experience!

Adena Stevens of Studio A Images was an absolute dream to work with! As soon as my husband and I met Adena, we knew we wanted to work with her for our wedding. Not only is she smart and kind, but it was clear from our first meeting that she is a true professional.

Adena listened to our wants and needs re: our photography, and delivered on every promise. We opted for candid-style pictures, and she and her second shooter, Brandi, truly captured the feel of the day. From rocking dance floor pictures to special, romantic moments – she caught it all! The pictures she took of our decorations and atmosphere are stunning, and the posed and candid pictures of us and our guests are amazing. Everyone looks their best. On top of that, Adena and Brandi really faded into the background during the day – not once did we feel like we were being “followed around,” nor did they distract our guests from enjoying the ceremony.

I would recommend Adena and Studio A Images to anyone. In short, she is professional, kind, attentive, and quick to respond and answer questions. We couldn’t be happier with her work, and are glad to know her as a person!

When I got engaged I knew I had to book Adena (Studio A images) immediately. My sister in law had already used her for two affairs so I already completely trusted her and knew she would do an amazing job. The photos came out beautiful-- that was a given but what impressed me most this time around was how Adena and Pete handled everything the day of the wedding. The week before, Adena and I had sat down and discussed how things would run and which photos were priority etc. but with a wedding party of 30 we knew things would be unpredictable. Let me say, with late comers and many (many) hyper children there was opportunity for a lot of stress but Adena and Pete improvised, wrangled everyone together and got the job done, not to mention on schedule. Not only did they prevent stress but were also super creative with their shots and just by trusting them (laying in the grass? Climbing rickety fire escape? Completely worth it) we had a blast and got one of a kind photos out of it.

Amazing photographer!! It rained on my wedding day and I was so scared that my pictures wouldn't come out right and they came out beautiful!! I would definitely pick Studio A Images for all of my future events =)

We are so happy we chose Studio A (Adena) to be the photographer at our wedding! From our first meeting with her to the finished product, the process was amazing and flawless. We met with Adena twice in the beginning of the process so she could get to know us as a couple and understand what type of photos we wanted. She offered great suggestions and made sure she got everything we wanted at the same time. She followed up regularly with us, guiding us through the steps, was always there to answer questions, and was promptly responsive. Through our discussions with Adena we could tell she really knew the venue and scoped it out beforehand as well (both the church and reception). Unfortunately, it rained on our wedding day, but Adena put all those worries to ease. We discussed alternative options the day before and she made me feel much better. The venue staff was very impressed with Adena's knowledge of the area and how she suggested to deal with the rain. She really took advantage of her surroundings, from the natural light in the church doors to the breathtaking NYC skyline at the reception. The portraits she took were very natural and she was able to capture all of the special moments throughout our day in the candids she took. She was always accessible during the wedding if we needed her, but blended in with everyone at the same time...we didn't even notice her taking some of the pictures we got! We got so many compliments about Adena from the guests at our wedding. We loved that she gave us a sneak peak picture the next day, which got us even more excited to see everything! The turnaround time was so fast as well. We absolutely love the finished product! We get to relive our wedding day when looking at all the pictures Adena took. They are breathtaking, she truly captured the whole event and our personalities.

Overall, we loved Studio A and would recommend Adena hands down.

Adena was fantastic - from our first meeting through the last photograph of the night, she was right on top of everything, making sure we had the perfect shots. She went and "scouted" the venue the morning of and due to weather we had to change our plans for pictures, but I wasn't worried at all, I was confident that she knew what she was doing. During the reception and ceremony, she captured so many pictures, but at the moment, you could barely tell she was there.

We had our engagement session with her several months before the wedding, the pictures were fantastic - she did such an amazing job of capturing us as a couple - the photos were beautiful, but also really showed off our personalities.

Adena was so professional and responsive throughout the planning process and really worked with us to get all the photos we wanted, even with a 21 person bridal party and 4 separate sets of family photos to get through. She was efficient, but we never felt rushed or like we weren't getting the shots we wanted.

I cannot wait to get our albums back - if they are half as great as the rest of our experience with Adena and Studio A, they will be amazing.

Adena as was excellent - she appeared to be everywhere, managing to capture the special moments without being intrusive. We received our photos within a month of our wedding, which was faster than what had been agreed.

Adena is an extremely talented photographer. She captured all the special moments of our ceremony and reception, and our family portraits are treasures. I think she captured every guest, whether on the dance floor or at their table.
Adena is highly professional and very easy to work with. In addition, she battled extreme winter weather conditions on the day of our wedding and from the first forecast of snow and ice assured us she would be there. What a relief. We couldn't be happier.

Studio A Images delivered on everything that I asked for in my wedding photos! I wanted primarily candid shots that really illustrated our unique, fun wedding and the day was perfectly captured! Adena was very flexible and dependable, and knowing that we didn't want to spend all day taking photos, had an executable plan that cut down on time. Adena of Studio A Images is just wonderful. From her response to my inquiry email with a phone call within 30 minutes to spending this past Saturday with her as she captured my wedding, she has been a joy to work with. It felt like she genuinely wanted to get to know my fiance and I. She was excited to shoot our engagement session at a graffiti landmark in Queens, something that might not be every photographers cup of tea. She also initiated rescheduling our engagement shoot due to inclement weather.

Her work is exceptional and she really has an eye for composition, something I appreciate as a fellow artist. She captures little moments and also the big picture. My husband and I got married at the Queens Botanical Garden and on our wedding day she scouted our ceremony location before meeting to take photos of myself and my bridesmaids getting ready. Because of this she was ready with suggestions of where to take our couples photos within the garden.

She is incredibly punctual, showing up at least half an hour early to all of our meetings. She went over the schedule of our wedding day with us the week before and made sure we were where we needed to be on the day of. When there was an unexpected moment with our musician playing a song for us away from the reception, Adena was happy to quietly follow and get some shots of the moment without being obtrusive.

She seemed to be everywhere at once yet never in the way, getting shots of people laughing and dancing, talking with a group of friends or catching little moments with family. She had a preview image from our wedding up the very next day on Facebook and although she said it would be up to 3 weeks for some more preview photos, they were up a week later. Adena is truly incredible at what she does and I would highly recommend her to other brides. Thanks so much for capturing our wedding in such beautiful photos, Adena!

Adena is an amazing photographer and we were so happy to have her be a part of our wedding. Our photographer was one of the first vendors we booked and since we weren't having a videographer, we really wanted to make the pictures count. Our initial meeting was very laid back and we got along so well that we knew Adena would be great.
Having an engagement session was a perfect way for us to get to know each other and see how she worked (and for her to see how we were together). There were a ton of laughs and some really awesome pictures that came out of our few hours in Hoboken.
In the months leading up to the wedding, Adena would check in on us to ensure everything was going well with wedding planning (and our move) which is really just going over and beyond. Before the wedding we filled out a questionnaire with all of our details and expectations and she pretty much laid out a timeline for us, which is incredible. There are so many logistics to think of during a wedding and her experience helped us navigate the day seamlessly.
I could really go on and on, but
1) She got along so well with us and our wedding party, everyone liked working with her.
2) She takes AMAZING pictures and doesn't "over-pose" or force anything that doesn't feel natural
3) She is professional to the utmost, but cares so much about the couples she works with.
Thank you Adena, for being a part of one of the best days of our lives. We wouldn't have wanted anyone else!

I was so thrilled with the services Studio A Images provided for our wedding. Neither of us is particularly comfortable in front of the camera, but Adena put us at ease from the beginning. She assured us, as we stood sleeveless in the falling snow, that freezing would be a small price to pay for beautiful pictures. And, she didn't disappoint; we couldn't be happier with our wedding pictures!

I was a resident of Virginia, but getting married in my hometown of New York in March 2013. And I was struggling trying to find all of my NYC vendors while living a few states away. I came across Adena with Studio A Images after hours of reading reviews on all the wedding search engines and various boring conversations/interviews with various photographers. I sent her a request for info, she called me right back and the rest was history! We just seemed to click over the phone. I told her my theme, my ideas, my budget, my priorities, and my woes. And she listened to me. She didn't try to "Yes" me to death, or make promises, or brag about her talent and technique. She seemed just as human and down to earth as her photos in her gallery. The package that she offered me was exactly what I was looking for and we got started booking her for the date.
We had an Engagement Shoot in Brooklyn, NY over the holidays, which was included in my package. It was bitter-bitter-brutally cold that day. But she was a trooper as we posed and smiled and took shot after shot and hiked all over the DUMBO neighborhood and over the Brooklyn Bridge. She kept us in good spirits with her energy and enthusiasm, we ALMOST didn't notice the cold! Those pictures were pretty cool and edgy and really showed our personality as a couple.
On the evening of the wedding, Adena and her assistant (the 2nd shooter-also in my package) were on time and ready to go! I felt comfortable enough to be myself and just relax in front of the camera. She has such a good eye and I knew she wouldn't miss anything, and she'd capture me and my bridal party as our best possible selves. The pictures are beautiful with an approximate 6 week turnaround time for your final product. I couldn't be happier with the entire process working with Adena. Weddings are as stressful as they are exciting, so you really want your vendors to be on point. I never had any doubts with my photos while in the hands of Adena and Studio A Images.

Adena was amazing! Photography was the one part of my wedding I did not stress out about. Adena was extremely helpful throughout the entire process - from showing me samples of other weddings and willingness to travel to Charleston, SC...all the way through tackling a shot list that was longer than both our arms put together! But the best part was her excitement, friendliness and genuine warmth which brought out the best in myself and my husband (who is not photogenic and very camera-shy!). Thanks to Adena we have timeless, beautiful photos that capture every part of our special day. We couldn't be happier with Adena's professionalism, organization and amazing photographer's eye!

Adena was faced with not one but two days of inclement weather interfering with our photography plans, both the day of the engagement session, which she re-scheduled for two days later, and the day of the wedding, when fall suddenly arrived at our garden wedding with a chilly rain. The wedding could not be rescheduled, but not only did Adena have a well-mapped-out photography plan for Rutgers Gardens, a place she seemed eager to photograph, she also arrived at the gardens early enough to come up with a plan B. She is a dream to work with, totally professional, and incredibly talented. She commandeered the wedding party with ease and charm, including my mom! When her favorites came up on her blog a week or so ago, I was beyond pleased, as was everyone else.

Adena is everything you want in a wedding photographer. She's fast to respond to questions before the wedding. She is affordable and can work with you to make sure you get everything you want. On the day of she is so attentive without being in the way... and fast! I mean we made it very clear that we wanted to attend our cocktail hour and she was super fast with our posed pictures! And of course the most important part..her pictures are beyond amazing. Just look on her website, you can tell she is top notch. Everyone keeps commenting, because the pictures are just so beautiful and original. We are beyond happy with Adena and would reccomend her to everyone!

When my husband and i got engaged he insisted we use his friend Adena from
Studio A Images as our photographer, boy am I glad we did! From our first meeting to the end of the wedding day itself, Adena was amazing! She was so sweet and very professional, and on the day of the wedding made us feel so comfortable and confident. The pictures she took completely speak for themselves! She put up a few sneak peeks on Facebook and the comments from people just keep pouring in! People as well as ourselves couldn't believe how unbelievable the photos came out, we are dying to see the rest! Adena did a great job capturing out night from beginning to end, she took amazing candids, and really told the story of our night! I will forever sing her praises and I highly recommend her!!

Adena was fantastic! She made my husband and me both feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera. It was like having pictures taken by an old friend. (Not an easy feat with two camera shy people). She did everything we wanted and even put up with three outfit changes during the engagement session. Our pictures were gorgeous and with over 900 wedding pics, it was extremely difficult to choose for the album. Luckily, Adena also sent friendly monthly reminders to keep us on task. Highly recommended. Expensive, but worth it!

Adena was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the moment I first spoke to her, she was helpful, accommodating, and supportive. After coming all the way out to our house to meet us and discuss our options, she continued to be extremely patient with all of our millions of questions, even before we booked her for our wedding! This continued after our booking, on the day of the wedding, and even after!

Beyond just running an excellent business, Adena is a phenomenal photographer and her work is incredible. Before the wedding, she went so far as to take a trip out to my area to help me find a location for my pictures (this was more than an hour from her office). On the day of, she displayed exceptional creativity, as I had asked for non-traditional pictures. Despite being hot and muddy (and suffering from an aching foot), she ran around, rallied the troops, and overall helped to get us the best memories of our day. She even played referee between me and family members to help keep me calm and happy and for that, I’m extremely grateful because it was above and beyond what I expected of her.

In the end, my pictures were gorgeous and I now have exceptional memories of my special day. I especially love that my pictures are so much more creative and different than anyone I’ve ever seen, and I’m so appreciative that Adena helped make that happen. I have also received countless comments on how brilliant her work is. Thank you Adena! I hope to work with you again in the future!

Choosing Studio A Images, home of photographer Adena Stevens, was among the best decisions we made for our wedding. Adena was kind enough to meet with us twice before the wedding to go over every detail - where we would be shooting, what kind of images we most wanted to see, the dynamics of our wedding party, the timeline for the reception, etc. She was professional in every sense of the word, taking detailed notes and responding to e-mails promptly. She even made a special trip to a nearby historical site and arranged for us to use their grounds the day of the wedding for our bride and groom portraits.

One of the challenges we faced was photographing a large wedding party (14 bridesmaids!) and coping with my lineage of photographers who came to the wedding with a critical eye. Adena was a powerhouse on both fronts. She managed to capture all of the family portraits and focus on the plans we made, without being derailed by my very creative (and forceful!) family.

The images are stunning. Intimate. Thoughtful. Unique.

I am so grateful we found Adena.

Adena was the photographer of our dreams!!!! Having a photojournalistic style, which is what we wanted and needed, produced the look we were seeking. You didn't even know she was in the room. Everyone had a wonderful time and you can see it in the faces and expressions that she captured. The groom had a history of terrible looking faces in his pictures; however, Adena managed to turn out some photos that we are proud to display. I/we would highly recommend her photography expertise to anyone, and we have!

Adena was incredibly flexible, easy going and professional. I highly recommend her if you want wonderful photos you will have for a life time. My wife and I were very satisfied and we are quite picky. The photos reflect our personality in a way even a video does not. Studio A gets an A+ from my teacher wife.

Adena is more than just a wedding photographer: she's a crowd-wrangler, bride-calmer, and true artist all in one! Adena stayed calm despite our extremely rushed photo schedule, and helped make sure everything we wanted got snapped, despite family and friends being late and other chaos! She worked with us before hand to make sure she understood what we wanted, so we wouldn't be disappointed the day of. Our photos came out absolutely beautiful. My only caution is that brides looking for "glamour shots"--heavily retouched photos that show them at their perfect best--should consider a different photographer, as Adena is more about capturing the day in a documentary style as it happens, and getting natural (and gorgeous!) portraits. You should also make sure, as with any photographer, that you tell her about what images you want besides people (such as cake, flowers, etc) so you make sure you have a record of all the important details. She uses a worksheet during the planning process that is a good opportunity to do this. If your wedding day has a tight schedule, and your family and friends can be difficult, then Adena will be a huge asset in making your big day perfect, and ensuring the photos look so much less stressed than you actually are. We had a great experience with Studio A Images, and I'm sure you will, too!

Adena was fabulous from start to finish. We had no idea what we wanted in a photographer, and she guided us through the whole process professionally (but wasn't stiff). The shots are just beautiful--my families loves them. One family friend said she wanted to do her wedding over again and use Adena! The photos were delivered on time and in an orderly fashion that helped us a great deal.

Adena at Studio A Images was a pleasure to work with. True to her word she kept the ship on course and everyone on schedule. She was great with pre planning, providing us with minute to minute schedules and lists of all photos. She really took the time to get to know us as a couple and portray that through her fabulous photos!
