Our wedding was everything we hoped for, and we couldn’t have done it without Strange Events. We had a dream team consisting of the owner, Renee, our coordinator, Lisa, and the officiant, Marianne. Renee’s attention to detail is second to none; she has everything down to a science and knows exactly what needs to be done and when. We can’t express how appreciative we are of having her guidance and structure. You can tell that she puts her heart into her work and genuinely cares about the couples she works with, as well as her staff.
We absolutely loved working with our coordinator, Lisa. She was exceptionally organized, communicative, and flexible. We appreciate that her personality perfectly balanced our nervous energy and kept us calm and reassured while making sure everything was taken care of. We had just one concern throughout the process, which Lisa and Renee resolved promptly. We genuinely felt supported leading up to and during our wedding day. If anything did go wrong, I had no idea.. and that’s how it should be!
Last but not least, a shoutout to our officiant, Marianne Vold. My husband and I can’t emphasize how wonderful Marianne was. She joined us later in the process but we instantly connected! She truly took the time to understand us as a couple and crafted a ceremony that felt so genuine and heartfelt. She is not only a wonderful person but also a talented writer. Seriously, the script she wrote was like poetry. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to guide us through such an important moment.

I knew I wanted a wedding coordinator so I didn’t have to worry about the schedule and such. When I spoke with Kayla, I knew that she would be perfect! Renee and her both kept me on track with planning by checking in on me monthly to see if I needed any help or had questions. They were also great resources (and someone to vent too) about COVID planning. The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect. Just as I hoped, I didn’t worry about a thing. Kayla worked so well with all the vendors and my bridal party. It was flawless and so worth it!!! -

Renee and her team are AMAZING!! 4 days before our wedding we found out our caterer got COVID and they didn’t have a plan B for us. Renee and Dahneshia swooped in and saved us! At first with brainstorming and advice and then ultimately finding a restaurant to replace our caterer in less than a week which is literally a miracle. Not only that but they were able to find Bartenders and staff for us (which our caterer was also going to supply) last minute during peak COVID and hiring shortages. I still can’t believe we pulled off our wedding and it was 100% because of Strange Events. Before this craziness Renee was amazing with answering lots of questions, recommending vendors, putting together a timeline for us, doing a site visit, helping us navigate COVID and calming my nerves. As soon as we hired her the planning got SO much easier, my only regret was that we didn’t hire her sooner!! Dahneshia was amazing day of the wedding taking care of all the details so I didn’t have to worry or answer questions from anyone. I literally can’t recommend them enough, hire them immediately!! :) -

Hiring Strange Events was the best decision we made! My only regret was not having Melissa there longer! She was amazing! She solved so many problems that I probably still don't know about and kept things running smoothly. She made sure I was taken care of, constantly checking to make sure I was eating and drinking, and she was always moving whether it was working with a vendor or taking care of trash -she was on it! Prior to the wedding she and Renee were very communicative and made sure I had a timeline and a vendor contact sheet so everyone was in the loop. Fantastic company to work with! I heard about them from a friend and will definitely continue to recommend these ladies! :) -

How do I even BEGIN to talk about how awesome Carrie and Dahneshia were on our day, and how great Renee was during planning? I hired Strange Events for day-of coordinating, to help set up tables and make sure the day ran smoothly. THIS WAS THE BEST INVESTMENT I MADE FOR MY WEDDING DAY. The whole day I wasn't worried about a single thing because I knew Carrie & Dahneshia were on it and taking care of everything. Renee booked with us back in 2019 and she was the main point person for the planning. She sent us monthly emails checking in with us and following up on everything. This was great because it kept me on track. When it got closer to the day, Carrie became our main point of contact. Not only did they handle day of coordination, but Carrie began reaching out to our vendors a month before the wedding to make sure everyone would be on time, and knew where/what was needed from them. This saved me SO much stress in the month before the wedding. Seriously - I felt like they went above and beyond here as I was not expecting them to do this for me and it was AMAZINGLY helpful. The day of, Carrie and Dahneshia showed up and set up all our tables, and coordinated the entire day for us. All of our vendors commented on how seamless our day ran and how well it was all organized. They seriously made my vision and dream come true. Dahneshia sat with me while I was hiding from my fiancé in the barn and talked to me to help keep me calm before the ceremony. I just felt like both Carrie and Dahneshia were genuinely happy to be part of the day, and not just "working" the event. I'd happily book them for any other event in the future! BFFS for life! -

We are a wedding catering service and we hired this company to help us with the wedding, as it was a bit outside of our normal range. The team was great!! I would definitely work with them again. -

Outstanding Service
My daughter's wedding had to be planned from "afar". Renee was very responsive and helped plan, organize, and execute my daughter's dream wedding. We live in the mid west so planning a destination wedding required someone familiar with the area and vendors. We couldn't have done it without Strange Events help and expertise. Renee even "loaned" us some of the decorations we needed. -

Without a doubt: our wedding would not have happened without Renee, Dahneshia, and Strange Events. Lifesavers, superheroes, geniuses - whatever you want to call them, they made our wedding weekend as magical as it was!! We live in Los Angeles and had this grand dream (delusion?) of a camp wedding weekend in Maine (where neither of us are from), and Strange Events made it the smoothest, easiest planning process it could've been. They were attentive, communicative, and eager to help; any question we had about a vendor or a location, Renee was quick to offer advice and guidance. She has solid relationships with vendors in the area, which made coordinating a lot of moving parts so easy because not only could she recommend companies, she could get in touch with them if we were having issues. We felt we were in safe hands the entire time and can't express how grateful we were/are because of it. So many people talk about how planning a wedding is so stressful, and we're constantly saying, "Oh really? We're having a blast! Find yourself a Strange Events!!" And their staff!!! Dahneshia, our month-of coordinator, was the absolute BEST. Lovely, funny, engaging, warm, but also incredibly organized and diligent. We felt like we were hanging out with a friend, one who wanted our weekend to be exactly what we imagined. She kept everything calm and fun, and did a great job of allowing us to be in the moment throughout the day. We also hired event staff through Strange Events and they were brilliant. They knew where to be, how to help, and any questions or concerns we had, they addressed with smiles. They made the dreaded clean up go so quickly, and helped handle any of the residual *stuff* so we didn't have to worry in our post-wedding bliss. The bartenders were just as great!! Organized and professional, but also friendly and fit right into the vibe of the night. We can't gush enough about this special group of people. If you're debating whether to get a coordinator, DO IT. If you're debating whether they should be through Strange Events, DO IT. Thank you to Renee, Dahneshia, and co for everything!!! -

If you need support planning or coordinating anything (especially your wedding!) look no further than Renee and her team at Strange Events. Renee was not just easy, but fun to work with and was always lightning fast to respond with support, answers, or great ideas. Her connections and recommendations saved us money. Our wedding day was stress free and everything went as planned without one issue. This may sound not real or over the top, but Renee truly thinks of everything and will handle things without asking so you can enjoy your day. I'd give her 6 stars in every category if I could!
Lastly, we used SE bartenders for our cocktail hour and reception and multiple guests commented on how great they all were.
Hire Renee or her team! You won't be disappointed! -

We at first were going to try to plan and carry out the wedding on our own. I do not recommend this unless you have been involved in this before or have experience planning large events. Renee was always there to help with any questions. Let us know what things we forgot or should at least think about was key. We had a day of coordinator, Carrie, that made the day seem flawless. I am sure there were some issues but none that I (The mother of the Bride) or the Bride ever had to concern our selves with. We were able to enjoy the day without having to worry about all the tiny details. Highly recommend

We cannot say enough good things about Renee and her team at Strange Events. Renee helped us through the planning process for our wedding, answering my incessant questions from things like what decor to use to achieve our vision to logistics about transportation. She was a grounding presence throughout, and proved invaluable throughout the weekend. We hired an assistant, Ali, who helped Renee given the size of our event, and she was just as awesome.
They were so attentive to detail, helping us with setup so that everything in our space was perfect and we could relax on the morning of our wedding. During our venue walk through the day before, we mentioned how we wished one of us had ordered the pasta dish because it sounded so good--during the reception, guess what was waiting for us?! A dish of pasta along with our entrees that we had ordered.
That is just one of many examples of how Renee and Ali listened to us and made us feel SO special on our big day. Everything ran smoothly, from our ceremony at the church to the events of our reception. If anything went wrong, I didn't know about it! They helped with venue breakdown as well so that the next day, our families could just go grab the boxes of our decor and didn't have to worry about clean up.
Long story short, Renee was an absolute pleasure to work with and made our wedding weekend stress-free and truly magical. Should I ever have any event planning or staffing needs in the future, I will be using Strange Events! Truly a great value an wonderful experience. Thank you, Renee! -

Renee was crucial to our wedding planning process and the weekend of the wedding. She answered all of our questions over the year between when we hired her and when we got married. She helped with everything from planning our layout to figuring out signage and lighting. The weekend of the wedding, she made everything go so smoothly and kept our whole family feeling so calm through any changes that had to happen. We really felt like we were all taken care of and free to just enjoy! We also ended up booking her event staff, baby sitting staff, and coffee cart, and all were excellent. Would 100% recommend Renee and her related services. -

We used Renee for our day of coordination, but she was so helpful during our 18 months of planning! She gave us recommendations, answered whatever questions we had, and gave us some logistics pointers that helped tremendously with planning. We felt so supported during our wedding weekend and felt like we could really rely on her to execute our vision. She was very calm and confident during the entire event which also helped us relax and enjoy our day. We also used Strange events for setup, tear down, and bartending services. We were so happy with how they executed our vision, and Jerica was an amazing team lead. They were able to pivot and solve any problems or changes that arose. The whole Strange Events team are very familiar with our venue, Granite Ridge Estate, so that made us feel confident in choosing them for the job. -

I was hesitant to hire a coordinator/wedding planner. We hosted our wedding in our backyard and I didn’t want a planner to make things feel too formal, but if you’re thinking about it, DO IT!!
I worked with Melissa as my day of coordinator and also had contact with Renee (the owner). To start this process I found neither Renee or Melissa were understanding my vision for the day and also kept pushing different vendors that I previously mentioned I wouldn’t be hiring (DJ, Cake Baker, etc). After the 5th time between the two of then my point was finally taken. Beyond this one kink, this was such a worthwhile investment for our wedding day.
Melissa made herself available for literally MONTHS to answer any questions we had and ease all our worries. She checked in monthly and then the month of/a couple weeks before the wedding she took over all major vendor contact and reached out almost daily to confirm details as needed.
I had hired most of our vendors almost a year before our wedding, so to have that responsibility taken off my plate was a life savor.
Beyond Melissa’s incredible work for the day of we also had two workers and a second coordinator that took over when Melissa had to step away. The workers, Chris and Wendy, were such a huge help! Again, this was something I originally thought I wouldn’t need, but they really made the day flow sooo smoothly. Since this was in our backyard, having the extra hands keeping people out of the house, pouring drinks, cleaning up and resetting for dessert, along with checking in with me and my Husband to make sure we were all set was THE BEST.
Long story long, Melissa, Chris, Wendy, and Lori (second coordinator) were such a great team. 10/10 recommend even if you’re having a 40 guest wedding ion your backyard like we did.
