Incredible!!

Stephen has got to be THE BEST officiant. Not to sound biased but our ceremony was executed perfectly. Stephen provided guidance on building our ceremony and writing our own vows. He followed up several times over the months leading up to our wedding to make sure we were on track and not allowing us to stress at the last minute and not make well thought out decisions. Prior to the ceremony beginning, he explained to the guests the format of the wedding, and instructed them when to stand, sit, and not to use cell phones for photos. So many of our guests told us how much they loved Stephen and how great of a job he did. I would recommend him to anyone getting married.

Perfect wedding 💑

An inquiry was sent on the availability for our chosen date, and Stephen’s response was immediate. He asked some questions to determine criteria to help plan our perfect, customized wedding ceremony. He made some recommendations on ideal locations, and his suggestion was everything we were seeking. Stephen made frequent contact and follow up, with rapid response time. He was extremely thorough, and detailed throughout; making sure we had everything we needed along the way.
Wedding planning can often be stressful, but with Stephen’s assistance, it was stress free. Stephen did an amazing job as officiant; the ceremony was absolutely perfect, and the evening is one forever etched in memory. If you’re looking to get married in the State of VT, and want a smooth, easy and fun process, I definitely recommend giving Stephen Laurie a call; you’ll be glad you did! 🙂

We were extremely happy with Stephen as our officiant. He did an amazing job and helped us create the perfect intimate ceremony that we wanted. He was very professional and informative, yet very friendly and makes you feel relaxed and comfortable to be around. He responds to emails very quickly, is very helpful and goes the extra mile for you. We highly Recommend Steven.

Very well done and beautiful ceremony!

Stephen Laurie did an amazing job helping us stay prepared and on top of ceremony prep. He did an amazing job officiating our wedding and making us all feel comfortable and ready for the ceremony. He made it a beautiful ceremony and was very proffessional. I would highly recommend.

Stephen was awesome!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Stephen as our wedding officiant. He was very attentive to all the elements that we wanted (and didn't want) to be included in our ceremony. He and his wife joined us for the reception afterwards, which was great! We've seen other officiants at other weddings do their thing and bail immediately, so the fact that they stayed and ate with us gave it a much more meaningful and personal feel.

Stephen will definitely bust out his teacher voice for the rehearsal, which was absolutely required for our group of friends and family. It was very appreciated that he took the reigns and made sure everybody knew what needed to be done.

We would absolutely recommend Stephen for your wedding!

Exceeded expectation

We were overjoyed that Stephen was our officiant! He was very responsive, thoughtful, and professional from the very beginning. He gave us helpful tips on how to frame and personalize our ceremony. Being an intercultural marriage, we wanted to incorporate a Chinese tea ceremony into our wedding to honor the bride's heritage. We were thrilled when we found out that Stephen actually had experiences traveling to China and had a good understanding of the Chinese culture and language! He wrote a wonderful introduction for our tea ceremony, and was able to incorporate both western and Chinese traditions into our ceremony. It was a perfect day! Thank you, Stephen!

Stephen was great to work with. We were planning our wedding from CT, but he easily guided us and gave thoughtful advice and suggestions to plan our ceremony. We even used one of the readings he wrote in the ceremony, which was great as we felt like we were getting a little personalization that our guests wouldn’t have heard at other weddings before.

I didn’t really start getting nervous until the night before but Stephen worked so well with our planners at Jay Peak to sort out the final details at the rehearsal to make sure everyone knew exactly what we needed to do - and our ceremony went perfectly.

We had both Stephen and his wife as guests to our reception too, which was fantastic. We had a very small wedding and the two of them fit in perfectly with our guests. They were out on the dance floor all night with the rest of the group and helped get others in the partying/dancing spirit too.

Everyone said our ceremony was wonderful, our reception was amazing and everything the whole day was perfect. Stephen was a big part of helping everything come together so smoothly and we’re so glad he was part of our day.

Stephen did an amazing job making our wedding a reflection of who we are. We told him from the beginning that we needed a ceremony that blended very different roots and he made it happen! He wasn't just a great officiant, but was a great addition to the memory of our wedding day.

Stephen married us this past August and he was fantastic! Always helpful with suggestions, and easy going to make sure the ceremony was just what we wanted! Great at communicating, and kind when it took us a bit longer to get back to him. The ceremony was gorgeous and just what we wanted! He arrived early and made sure all was set and he was very prepared! Highly recommend. :)

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stephen! We got married in East Burke, VT and live in Connecticut. The first time I met him was on our wedding day when I walked down the aisle! We worked together via email and he always responded immediately and was so accommodating of our requests. My father brought him a poem to read that he wrote for us on the day of our ceremony and Stephen was able to make it work flawlessly and adjust his ceremony accordingly. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. He and his wife are the sweetest couple and we also enjoyed having them attend our reception. Thank you so much Stephen for making our day so incredible!!!! Our ceremony was exactly how we pictured it.

Stephen was an amazing officiant every step of the way. We were a few states away while planning the wedding and worked over just email and phone calls. Even with just that we felt like we really got to know him. He helped us create the perfect ceremony and was a pleasure to work with. We were able to choose every aspect of the ceremony and he provided great examples and coached us through the flow. The ceremony itself was flawless thanks to his timeliness, execution, and good humor. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking an officiant.

Contacted him Friday requesting a service Saturday. Stephen returned my call quickly and made the time for us with extremely short notice. Stephen was perfect for our wedding and we wouldn’t have asked for anyone else! Found him way in advance, realized he was extremely far from our venue, then contacted him again in a time crunch. We discussed options and came up with a solution for him to be our officiant, so glad we gave it another shot! When I saw his website I knew he was the guy we would want for our wedding. He was patient and sent reminders when we weren’t working on our vows etc., but once we did our part, he was right on top of sending me the entire ceremony. IMPRESSED. He is GREAT and I HIGHLY recommend him.

Stephen was great! He was extremely flexible and helped us to put together our perfect ceremony. Stephen was a pleasure to work with and was very helpful in designing a custom ceremony and vows that fit our beliefs and needs. He took special care in designing a unique ceremony that was designed just for us. Stephen officiated our wedding at Jay Peak resort in Vermont and he was absolutely fantastic. Our guests could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed our heartfelt ceremony. Stephen's encouragement was the reason we decided to write our own vows and reciting them was one of my favorite moments of the day and something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Stephen crafted a beautiful ceremony and included every detail I asked for. He responded to all my questions with a timely response. I also asked Stephen to give the blessing at the reception and he was more than happy to do it. He was so great and I can not say enough wonderful things. My Fiance and I immediately felt comfortable with Stephen from the moment we met him. I had spoke with him via email several times, and he was always so quick to respond back, answering any of my questions or putting my mind at ease if I had a concern. Stephen had a selection of readings and vows that really helped us narrow down the things we did and didn't like, and he was flexible with making any adjustments. We were so pleased with how he ran through the rehearsal with us and our wedding party, and being able to crack some jokes with us along the way. Come the day of the wedding Stephen was wonderful, and everyone commented on how beautiful our ceremony he was. Stephen was a fantastic JP! I was raised Jewish and my wife, Protestant and he had excellent knowledge of both Jewish and Christian traditions. He worked with us to create a beautiful ceremony that was exactly what we wanted. He gave us lots of options and was very helpful in narrowing down the details. He was also very reassuring and helped ease stress during wedding planning, which as we all know can be a difficult process for the whole family... "not my circus, not my monkeys" :). After our ceremony he even renewed my grandparents' vows after 68 years of marriage!

We really appreciated Stephens excellent knowledge, professionalism, and fun and easy going personality. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a JP! Thanks again Stephen!

Stephen was great to work with! From our early e-mail interactions to our first in person meeting (over a couple of beers) through the day of our wedding, Stephen was personable, responsive and delivered exactly what we wanted. We ended up writing our own ceremony for the most part (only because we had a very particular idea about what should be said and the overall tone) but Stephen gave us many resources and advice along the way. And his delivery was absolutely perfect... He was also mindful of his position to not be in certain shots (i.e. "the kiss"), which I thought was great and something that I certainly would not have thought of. Many of our guests also complimented that they enjoyed Stephen’s officiating and enjoyed his company during the reception. We very highly recommend Stephen!

I found Stephen Laurie on-line when I was searching for a Justice of the Peace. I like the transparency of his web page and when I outreached to him he responded promptly and was very helpful in providing me information about ceremony ideas (scriptures, poems, quotes, etc). His experience was instrumental in us selecting information and meeting our needs to make for a perfect ceremony and special experience for our wedding day. I would recommend Stephen Laurie to all.

We couldn't have been happier with the service Stephen provided to us not only at the wedding but in the months leading up to it. My wife and I were very hopeful that when we met Stephen for the first time (he came to meet us at a coffee shop several months before the wedding) that he'd be the type of officiant we'd want in our wedding, and he was. I got the impression he would be as involved as we'd like him to be. Through our numerous emails we traded he seemed to genuinely care that we got out of the ceremony exactly what he hoped. I specifically remember Stephen helping keep the mood light, and me from becoming too nervous, as we stood in front of everybody waiting for the bride. He interacted with the wedding parties wonderfully and I remember being asked by my grandmother how we knew him, as if he was a relative on my wife's side of the family. He interacted that well with everybody. It's for these reasons and many more that I highly recommend Stephen, we couldn't have been more pleased.

Stephen was such a great pleasure to work with! I think there may have been about 50 plus emails between the two of us prior to my wedding day, most of them regarding the "official stuff" and some of them were just Stephen checking in to see how we were holding up as the big day approached. Stephen delivered exactly what we requested and provided us with great advice on vows, readings etc. He arrived on time, fully prepared and his fee was very reasonable :-).

I found Mr. Stephen Laurie through WeddingWire and couldn't have been happier with how things went. At the time of finding him, we had less than two weeks until our ceremony and I was losing hope of finding an officiant. Mr. Laurie was very open to the time crunch and within a couple of days we had the ceremony completely set up. We were able to customize it to exactly what we had wanted. He was extremely kind and our family was extremely impressed with how he conducted the ceremony. I am beyond grateful for how everything went and how open he was to the last minute booking! I would recommend Mr. Laurie to anybody in need of an officiant!

I have left reviews many times prior to this, however never have I been more pleased with the services received from anyone! When we found Mr. Stephen Laurie, after months of searching and painful disappointment, we were thrilled to say the least. He began with making me feel most welcome to the fact this was all about my fiancée and myself! He asked questions and really truly listened to the answers, so much so, even I was amazed at just how well he paid attention to each and every detail without having to be told more than once! He truly made this experience all about us, the Bride and Groom. Each and every detail intertwined into the Ceremony becoming "Made For Us" and our lives together thus far! He was amazing in so many ways, in EVERY way necessary! When a couple is going to be married, they have so many things on their plate that it is difficult to keep track of many of the Wedding details. Yet, Mr Laurie made each and every step happen with ease, Beauty, and PERFECT! He sent a Mach Ceremony within a couple hours and a plethora of information which made the process all that much more simple for us, the busy couple to plan. From the moment we spoke to Mr. Stephen Laurie, to the moment we said our goodbyes, it was the most amazing, beautiful and stress free Wedding Ceremony we could have ever hoped for..... THANKS TO MR. Within 24 hours of initially contacting Stephen (through email back and forth), we had discussed details and received a sample ceremony for our review. Stephen's sample ceremony included readings we had requested as well as beautiful pieces he had suggested. Changes were made per our request and he had tips for us to flawlessly deliver our own vows. Our ceremony was small, (18 total in attendance) but absolutely beautiful and Stephen was great with my husband and I and our families. I would highly recommend him for anyone getting married. All of our guests loved him, and we were honored to have him officiant our wedding! Thank you so much!

Stephen Laurie was amazing and helped to made our wedding perfect. He never responded more than 12 hours after I'd wrote to him, he wrote out our vows and ceremony perfectly. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone I know looking to get married.

We contacted Stephen via email about our elopement plans and he was very prompt in responding and offering his services. Our situation was a little complicated with one of us on an aircraft carrier in San Diego and the other in the Washington DC area but Stephen was very accommodating and flexible. We appreciated his willingness to provide some choice readings that were appropriate for our ceremony and guided us through the flow of the ceremony. Stephen was very professional, articulate and prompt for our ceremony and took care of delivering the license to the Town Clerk afterwards. We would highly recommend Stephen to anyone.

Steve was very flexible and accomodating to our needs. We were very at ease with him at all times. He does his best to make your wedding day the way you want it to be. He is very personable. I would recommend Steve to you for your wedding.

stephen laurie was wonderful he answered all of our questions and was able to work with the ideas we had for our ceremony and he also showed up an hour early with us just to make sure everything went off perfectly. We would recommend him to anyone in the area.

I highly recommend Stephen Laurie as an officiant. He was very professional, flexible and understanding. He had great respect for our needs as a couple but also knew when something wouldn't work and was not afraid to express his opinion. He was easy going, social, and he truely enjoyed his "job" in our wedding and took great pride in his part of our special day.

Stephen was AMAZING. He incorporated all of the elements that we wanted into the ceremony, provided guidance to help us write our own vows, and was very professional- all on extremely short notice. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal!!

Stephen Laurie did a phenomenal job at our wedding 3 years ago. Since the day I came across him online, he was very responsive through email and extremely informative. We had continuous conversation throughout a year and as our date got closer, he reached out with our next steps to consider. He ranges from religious and modest, to humorous with a smile. The night of our rehearsal he was there ready to go and gave great instruction with room for laughter. He put on an excellent speech for our ceremony that we still talk about to this day. We wanted a more laid back but romantic feel and he gave us that!
