We had an amazing experience with Steelcut, specifically Kaitie! She was kind, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. We provided some inspiration but what Kaitie created for us went beyond our wildest dreams - the florals were simply beautiful, so unique and truly set the mood for the event. The team put such thoughtful effort into each piece and we couldn't have asked for more gorgeous arrangements. I wish I could have kept the flowers forever! Highly recommend Steelcut if you are looking for unforgettable, unique florals at your event. -

I worked with Kaitie on the florals for my wedding in Rockville, MD. We had a few phone/zoom meetings and also communicated regularly by email. The verbal communication was really helpful in making sure we were on the same page. We opted to pay for a mockup centerpiece before the wedding, which I would highly recommend. Kaitie did a great job on the mockup based on what we had discussed, and it was helpful to see it in person and make some minor modifications to the balance of colors and to the centerpiece vessels. We also had Steelcut provide and decorate our chuppah. The chuppah, centerpieces, bouquets, and boutonnieres all turned out perfect and looked beautiful for our wedding! -

If you are looking for a florist for your wedding, look no further, Hailey Weisbecker and her creative team (special shout out to Philip) at Steelcut Florist in Baltimore is the person you want. She first is so easy to work with and helps you pick flowers that go well together. She listens and turns your vision into exactly your dream flowers, look. They are so fresh, they lasted over a week after the wedding. As MOB, I wanted the flowers to be an important part of the look so we did splurge a little but for what we got, it far exceeded our expectations. They were simply beautiful. Everyone is still commented how beautiful the flowers were. Highly recommend Hailey and Steelcut! -

I am still just absolutely speechless on how unbelievably gorgeous the flowers were on Saturday. When my daughter saw her bouquet, her exact words were, “I love, love, love my bouquet!” You all took her vision of color and design and created exactly what she wanted. I can’t thank you enough for each and every creation…bouquets, boutonnières, table and floor arrangements, and the stunning overhang. Everyone was commenting on how gorgeous it was. We had such an amazing and special day and we can’t thank you enough for being a huge part of it!

Amazing wedding flowers!
Emma at Steelcut was awesome to work with. She was willing to host a Zoom call with us to make sure we liked the arrangements for our wedding day. They installed the flowers so quickly the day of our wedding. They also stayed at the venue to move the flowers inside the ballroom after the ceremony and before the reception. I highly recommend hiring Steelcut Flower Co! -

Every aspect of your floral arrangements was perfect...from the arch on the bandstand, to the pieces at the escort signs, and especially all the tables - everything just took my breath away and matched Mandy's vision so well! Mandy also really loved the vases at the entry to the tent. You took her thoughts and turned them into a reality and for that, we couldn't be more thankful!

Mary Ellen and Steelcut were a fantastic flower vendor for our wedding. Mary Ellen was extremely helpful with the planning process and very flexible when it came to changing/editing the plan. She took our design photos and somewhat vague ideas and turned them into an incredibly gorgeous display day of. All of our flowers looked amazing, whether it was the grounded arch for the outdoor ceremony, the bridal bouquets, the multiple distinct table designs, or the boutonnieres everything was beautiful, fresh, and stunning. She created the romantic vision/mood we were hoping for. Loved the bridal bouquet and we got so may compliments on the flowers. -

Brought my vision to life
It was amazing working with Emma and steel cut Maryland for my august wedding. Meeting with her I knew she had to do my florals. She took my ideas and made the perfect idea board and then brought that board to life in the most beautiful florals I have ever seen at a wedding. Every installation, bouquet, and table scape was absolutely breathtaking. I was so happy I picked SteelCut for my wedding. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an artistic and beautiful florist. -

Amazing florist!
Mary Ellen was so great to work with, and I was blown away by our wedding florals. I had a pretty easy job deciding on almost all of our wedding vendors, but I took months to find the perfect florist, and Steelcut Flower Co was worth the wait! I was not working with the biggest budget, and from the proposal through the final execution it was clear that Steelcut was so capable of making absolute magic from every dollar without excessive fees and making each element a really high-impact piece.
I was most thrilled with the incredible taste, style, and talent Mary Ellen brought to our design. I had a really specific vision and wanted something that felt really autumnal without being too on-the-nose, orange and red (or "pumpkin patch", as Mary Ellen put it), and she really nailed it with unique colors and incredibly unexpected details using fruit (tons!), branches, and grasses to beautiful effect, along with stunning flowers. The arrangements from our ceremony were moved to the front of our bar, which looked like it was emerging from some enchanted forest, with branches taller than the bar top.
Mary Ellen was so easy to work with, and even with a short window to get the venue set up, everything was set up with so much care, down to artfully scattered flower petals. Everything was handled by Steelcut, down to the votives and faux flame candles (unfortunately our venue did not allow open flame). I could not recommend them more! -

The most beautiful floral installations - they brought my vision to life!!
Mary Ellen and Steelcut Flower Co. were absolutely amazing!!! We had a very specific aesthetic and very unique elements to our table settings, like fresh citrus and succulents and geometric shapes. They truly brought the summery pop of color vision to life and did everything they could to make our flowers and centerpieces an absolute ten out of ten. Mary Ellen communicated with us every time there was an update and had no problem re-working even the smallest detail. Not to mention she drove 3 hours, one way, from southern Virginia to show us the centerpieces in person. The mother of the groom is experienced in floral arrangements and decor and was very impressed with Mary Ellen and her team - her florist friend was even impressed and tried to book Mary Ellen for a wedding later in 2022 but they were already booked. The highlight of their work was the flower installation above our head table at the reception and the decor on the head table and the geometric decor in front of the sweetheart table (which they had in-house without needing to rent). When the photos came in I was even surprised that to see that they put flowers in other places like the DJ booth, over by the picture frames, etc. It was a nice touch. It really could not have turned out better - we could not recommend Mary Ellen and her team more!! The pictures speak for themselves :) -

I could not recommend more!!!
Emma and her team absolutely nailed the florals for our big day. She was so patient with all of my inspirational imagery, questions, and ideas and brought my vision to life. It was better than I could have ever imagined and we received so many compliments from the guests. It truly brought the space to life. Emma was super professional during the whole process. We got married at my parent's home which was not the typical venue but she handled it with such ease. It was probably my favorite part of our wedding! I could not recommend Steelcut more! -

Perfection
Absolute perfection. I am in awe of what Emma and the Steelcut team put together for our wedding. I know I’m biased because it was my wedding, but I’ve been to a lot of events and I have never seen more gorgeous floral arrangements. What they create is truly art and rivals sights you’ll see at the most famous gardens. I had so much fun coordinating with Emma and it was such a breeze! She made my vision came to life and amplified it beyond anything I could’ve ever imagined. -

Working with Emma and her team was the best experience. We had various reschedules due to COVID, and Emma was flexible and helpful through it all. We even had the opportunity to meet with her in her studio to look at some flowers and other tablescape items to help inform the plan. The day of the wedding there were two completely random storms with high winds, even hail (in May)! The set up team was so dedicated to making sure our installments turned out perfectly that they were literally hanging onto them in their raincoats until the storm ended (which is absolutely above and beyond, and never expected!) The final product-you would never know that it wasn't perfect weather all day. From the flower towers to the table arrangements, bouquet and more-the styling is just true art. Emma is truly an incredible person - our original wedding date of April 19 was moved to just a reception on November 8. We decided to have a small ceremony on April 18 with just our parents because of COVID. That morning, she delivered the most beautiful spring bouquet I could have ever dreamed of holding. But it didn't end there!! In November, my spring florals turned into fall foliage and I gave Emma creative liberty with colors and textures. Best decision I could have made! The ballroom at Springfield was full of gorgeous reds and oranges, and smilax spiraling up the four columns of the room. Everyone commented on how lovely the flowers and decorations were, all thanks to Steel Cut. I would 10/10 recommend, and would love to work with this team again!!! -

Emma was a dream to work with!!
Firstly, she has a spectacular eye and was able to translate my flower dreams into tangible wedding magic - I was absolutely obsessed with my wedding florals; she did a magnificent job!
Second, her compassion, kindness, and flexibility blew me away. As a COVID bride, I didn't know how, if at all, I was going to get married in 2020. Emma was able to accommodate a date change not once, but twice, when an immediate family member was diagnosed with cancer during the planning process. My family and I agree that we have not seen more beautiful florals ever – she truly transformed my backyard into an outdoor cathedral. Wes and I are so so so grateful for Emma. She and her team are skilled, sweet, and impossible to beat! Thank you for everything! -

I LOVE Steelcut and the incredible work they did making my wedding a magical flowery forest of my dreams! I hired Steelcut after seeing lots of their work around Baltimore and on IG and I had a wonderful experience throughout the planning process. Emma was so friendly and intuitive, knowing exactly what I was thinking without me being able to articulate it. Emma brought my ideas to life and was flexible and responsive in the months leading up to the wedding. Seeing the florals on the wedding day was a next-level enchanting experience. From the moody bouquets to the charming centerpieces, to the greenery they worked hard to place among the string lights, the entire wedding was transformed by Steelcut's vision and artistry. The team also created a circular arch which was oh so stunning and dreamy... I still think about it often. Could not be more grateful for Emma and her team and everything they did to make my wedding unforgettable. Side note, they also decked out a hat I have with flowers for my bridal shower and it was amazing... Anyway, highly recommend and cannot thank enough! -

From the initial call, meeting, and followup conversations, to the day-of coordination, everything about working with Steelcut and Emma was flawless, fun and a floral dream come true. They are so talented and made every single one of my requests (even last minute requests) a reality. These women are true artists. I also requested that our flowers be donated after our wedding to local homeless shelters and hospice and they made this happen. I could not recommend them enough! -

Stunning work
Mary Ellen and team did an unbelievable job with our wedding florals. Our venue was outside/a tent so there was a lot of natural beauty around, but the ceremony and reception areas themselves were somewhat stark. Mary Ellen transformed the spaces, celebrating the surrounding nature and fall colors while making everything warm and inviting. She captured our vision perfectly and made each element ideal to the space it was in (i.e., lowering planned arrangements on the bar due to wind). I can't recommend Steelcut (and in our case, the Virginia branch particularly) enough! -

Exceptionally Talented
We hosted our wedding at a vineyard in Charlottesville, Virginia and were fortunate enough to have Mary Ellen and the Steelcut team as our florist.
Mary Ellen was responsive and easy to work with and you'll see from the pictures, she's incredibly talented. During our calls and in our meeting, I knew she had great taste and I loved that she immediately understood the look I was trying to achieve. It put me at ease knowing I was in such good hands.
On the day of our wedding, we walked into the venue as she was setting up and we were blown away by her work.
Each piece was so freaking cool. We had these smaller arrangements on our rectangular farm tables that were my favorite; they were so unexpected. She had sourced small metal vessels for them which allowed the flowers to look like they were growing out of the table. The bridal bouquet was also stunning.
She created this incredible organic and effortless vibe. Her use of asymmetry...her flower choices...her use of color and textures....I could go on for many more paragraphs but you get it. I'm a huge fan of her work, and would highly recommend her. She's awesome. -

Emma made our floral dreams come true!
I cannot recommend Emma highly enough - she’s a truly talented designer, super responsive, and will work with your ideas / budget. She guided us through the process and was flexible to make changes even in the last minute!
We met with Emma over coffee for a design consultation and shared some of our initial thoughts regarding color, style, flower choice, etc. She immediately understood our design vision and brought a keen design sense to the table (she has a background in architecture and used her designs to accentuate the unique architectural character of our reception hall).
Emma was extremely helpful throughout the entire process... When we wanted narrower tables and the caterer advised us that this would lead to less space for centerpieces, she assured us that the vision could still be achieved with narrow tables we desired (even sharing pictures to ease our concern). When my husband in the last minute expressed a desire for fragrant herbs as part of the table setting, she whipped up beautiful scented bundles and for each plate.
When we entered our reception hall, my husband and I were in awe. It was more beautiful than we had ever imagined… the amount of detail she put into each floral arrangement is incredible. Every table was a little different yet cohesive - from loose garland with tapered candles to central arrangements with votive candles to tall central arrangements for the family tables.
Choosing Steelcut was one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding. Several of our guests commented on how beautiful the flowers were, and I’ve already recommended a few friends to Steelcut! Emma is extremely talented and will make your vision become a reality. I highly recommend Steelcut Flower Co. and wish hope to collaborate with Emma again in the future! -

I don't even know where to begin in trying to describe just how AMAZING it was to work with Mary Ellen at Steelcut Flower Co. So here is my attempt...
Mary Ellen is an ABSOLUTE GENIUS who will take your vision to the next level. She listened to what our vision was and really helped me think about what we could do to make biggest impact within our budget. When I first saw our ceremony and reception space I was overwhelmed with how she took what was an abstract musing in my mind brought it to life in a way that was beyond my wildest dreams.
Her attention to detail shone through in every reception table, arbor installation, and floral hairpiece that she designed. Everything she made for us was not only breathtakingly beautiful but told the story of our shared vision.
On top of her sheer artistry and talent, Mary Ellen is extremly kind and a joy to talk to. From our day one consultation through our wedding day I felt like we were old friends just chatting about flowers and big ideas.
I am so thankful to have worked with Mary Ellen! I can't recommend her enough and hope to work with her again in the future! -

Steelcut Flower Co. was the perfect choice for our wedding. We found them via instagram when I saw a beautiful flower arch they made and knew I had to have the same. However, other than that I didn't know much about what I wanted for my wedding flowers. They took the very little information and direction I gave them and created beautiful florals for our wedding day. The arch they created was absolutely beautiful and the bouquets and centerpieces were also gorgeous. They were extremely responsive and professional as well. -

When I was planning my wedding over the course of 2018, I was told Steelcut is one of the best. But that is a total understatement. After doing months of research and IG stalking, I knew I wanted to hire Mary Ellen for her unique arrangements.
Our wedding was in a barn this past November, and one of our concerns was the space feeling dark, or undecorated. So, we decided to add some floral flare throughout the space. From the bar garland, to the seating arrangement, to the welcome sign and tables, Steelcut made our venue POP!
I was brought to tears on my wedding morning when Mary Ellen dropped off our bridal bouquets. Everything was stunning and unique. I cannot begin to describe just how beautiful of work she did. I have posted some photos below. Like they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. -

Would recommend Steelcut 11 times out of 10!
I worked with Mary Ellen in Baltimore and the experience was amazing from start to finish. When I first met with Mary Ellen, I had a few inspiration photos and told her (maybe) 3 flowers I liked-- I did not know what I wanted. She talked me through different options and guided me throughout the process. Mary Ellen knew the Baltimore Museum of Art, which was super helpful and supported using the flowers from the ceremony as part of the reception to avoid waste. I would highly recommend her and her team- they clearly love what they do and it shows in all of their work! Oh and if you don't, follow their instagram for a little brightness in your day! -

Lisa Sent on 08/12/2018Mary Ellen and Steelcut Flower Co designed our wedding florals for our 6/17/18 wedding at the George Peabody Library in Baltimore. We LOVED our florals and the bridal bouquet was absolutely PERFECT. We spent a very long time trying to select a florist for our event and we are so happy we chose Steelcut Flower Co. We had met with Mary Ellen and made a plan for brightly colored, cheerful, whimsical flowers reminiscent of a bunch of wildflowers. We wanted a unique and bold design and Mary Ellen truly made our dream come true. The coral charm peonies, corncockles, rannunculus, delphinium, and garden roses were stunning. We had mentioned to Mary Ellen that I love lavender and so I was pleasantly surprised to find a few sprigs of lavender tucked into the bouquet and lavender sprigs adorning the boutonnieres. We wish our wedding florals could last forever...but of course their fleeting existence is what makes them so magical in our memories.

Emily Sent on 08/24/2017I’m not sure where to begin with Mary’s review and I wish I could give her & Steelcut Flower Co. 10 stars instead of 5. Everything was exceptional and I can’t recommend her enough.
When I found Mary, I knew almost instantly that she was the florist for me. We clicked and I felt a strong connection with her work. She has such a lovely and creative way about her & her floristry. When viewing her work, you will see that what she creates goes far beyond flower arranging, it’s ART. She puts her heart and her soul into her work and I adore her one-of-a-kind aesthetic.
Within the first 30 minutes of our first meeting, Mary knew exactly what we wanted and she flawlessly brought my vision to life. Both myself and my husband were SO impressed. I remember my husband during our first look on our wedding day said, “Em, have you SEEN THE FLOWERS?” He was in awe and so was I.
I did all the branding and invitation designs for our wedding and Mary took what I created and matched everything perfectly with her florals. It was a beautiful collaboration and all of our guests loved & noticed this. From the bouquets to the table arrangements, everything was extraordinary. We’re still getting compliments about the flowers. My sister (the MOH) just told me yesterday that the flowers were her favorite part of the wedding.
Mary was responsive and professional. She was always happy to chat via email or meet for coffee. She works with your ideas and your budget to give you the perfect flowers. She’s patient, kind, and is a great listener.
I can’t recommend her enough and I only hope to collaborate with her again in the future.

She worked through all the changes and additions without complaint and was super accommodating and easy to work with. Given her portfolio and her style suggestions, I had no worries about what anything was going to look like - and I was not disappointed in the least. Everything was perfect. I worked with Emma Bates at Steelcut Flower Co and was so so happy with my wedding day flowers!!
Emma was lovely - I knew I loved her from our initial phone call when I had no idea what I wanted and was going in 100 directions and knew nothing about flower types! She was excited about my vision, passionate about her job, and spunky. Over the course of the 9 months that we worked together, I changed a lot about the flower types I wanted, shades of greens, budget, tablescape, etc. She never faltered and always listened. She was patient as we made adjustments, and offered very helpful suggestions. We went through probably 5 different proposals and she delivered exactly what we agreed on. At the end of the day, I wish I would've had an unlimited budget when it comes to florals because these women do BEAUTIFUL work. However, they worked with the budget that I gave them and it was elegant, timeless, and exactly what I envisioned. -

Gorgeous flowers!
We had a 2020 micro-wedding with a limited budget, and Steelcut Flower Co was easy and flexible to work with! They gave us a beautiful wildflower aesthetic with my requested colors, and I adore the unique ceremony framing installations they made for us!!
