Amazing photos!

My husband and I are obsessed with our engagement & wedding photos! Steven was an amazing photographer and we are so happy we made the decision to have him capture our wedding. We were referred by a friend and we decided to meet with him after looking at his photos. We loved his candid photos with so much emotion. We also saw that his photos were great in all different types of lighting. We loved meeting Steven in person and made the decision to have him as our photographer then.

We met Steven over a year before our wedding and the whole process was seamless. It really helped that Steven was very responsive and organized. He answered all of our questions right away, which I really appreciated. He was always professional and never late to anything. He followed up and confirmed all our deadlines/meetings and let us know in advance when our photos would be ready.

The best part was getting our wedding photos. Looking through the whole gallery really brings us back to our wedding day and reminds us of the feelings we had that day. The photos exceeded our expectations. Everything was captured so beautifully and I’ll be looking at the gallery over and over again!

So happy we hired Stak Studios!

Steven was the perfect choice for our wedding. He asked the right questions leading up to the day so that that everything went well without our having to think about the photography. His assistant was fantastic and meant that we weren't worried about things being missed when there were multiple things happening. From the moment he arrived while we were getting ready, until the DJ played the last song, Steven managed to have the perfect balance of being everywhere and getting all the shots but not being intrusive at all. What really sealed the deal was when we saw the photos and they were beyond what we could have imagined. So good!

Couldn't be happier!

Steven is truly a cut above! He has a beautiful sense of composition and a keen artistic eye. His photos were far more than a document of the day or a series of posed pictures- he captured the energy, emotion, and fun of the event so that every picture brings us back to that spectacular day. Artistic Genius! Helped a non-photogenic couple love their photos

Steven is an artistic genius! His photos were absolutely breath taking. He managed to capture every single person in our 200+ wedding looking their best with genuine smiles and facial expressions that bring us back to our wedding day. We love photography and our photographer was the most important decision we made as a couple for our wedding. Steven lived up to our very high expectations and then some. Steven was incredibly patient with our questions and with getting us comfortable with him and getting pictures taken. He was calm and helpful on the day of and I can't say enough about the beauty of his photos. We wanted to highlight so many aspects of the venue and Steven nailed it. Highly recommend!

My Dream Wedding w/ STAK Photography

My dream wedding was literally everything I could have dreamed for and more: perfect venue, perfect flowers and perfect husband but what really put the icing on the cake were the photos and the entire photography experience with STAK Photography.

My husband Jordan and I worked with Steven on our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and he somehow managed to capture the most amazing moments, even the little ones. The quirky smiles, the laughs, and tears ...each photo was beautifully captured and looking through them feels like I'm reliving my wedding day.

Steven is super professional, very warm and really passionate about his work. My husband and I joke that he was like spider man on our wedding day, literally on the floor, behind corners, in matrix like positions making sure to get the best shot! I dont have enough words to say about Steven but he is a part of our life forever. He memorialized the most important day of my life and from the bottom of my heart I'm so grateful we had the opportunity to work with him.

Great to work with!!

Steven was very flexible and accommodating. It was pouring down rain, but we couldn't reschedule (we had once already rescheduled, and it was impossible to reschedule again in the next coming weeks), so we moved forward with our engagement shoot. Steven was so positive despite the weather, and guided us through Central Park so that we can quickly take photos and stay out of the rain. The photos came out beautiful, and the rain made it extra special. Really appreciated Steven's time, and his professionalism :)

Highly Recommend STAK Studios!

Steven was our photographer for our wedding and we are very happy that we chose him to capture our special day.

Steven was super kind and patient with us and shot our engagement photos as well. My husband and I are not very good with photos and do not like posing (we always come out looking awkward), but Steven did a good job of capturing some amazing moments.

During our wedding, we had a lot of things going on (with a ton of people running around everywhere), yet somehow he and his team were able to capture EVERYTHING (including our dog who was part of our wedding). The photos are so genuine and he captured real-life moments. The quality of the photos are also really great -- we are so happy that we chose him.

I definitely recommend getting at least two photographers if you have a larger wedding (we had a little over 200). With two photographers, Steven and his team were able to capture every single guest and all moments of our wedding!

Weddings are expensive, but I would not cut corners around a photographer. Steven and his team are an excellent choice and we highly recommend him!

STAK Photography / Steven made our wedding. To start, he really cared to get to know us first - our interests, preferences, who we were as people. We trusted his vision and didn't micromanage, which worked out well because he's a consummate professional and really knows what he's doing. He made us feel comfortable the whole time through engagement shoot and throughout the wedding day. He was on-time, had a great attitude, listened, and was present at all times even the entire time on a crowded, sweaty dance floor. Most importantly, we just saw our pictures this week and they are nothing short of spectacular and exceeded all our expectations. The emotions that were captured and the talent in finding perfect angles and lighting was so impressive. I highly recommend Steven for any photography needs.

We loved working with Steven. Our photos are incredible and we are tough critics. He was also an absolute PLEASURE to work with. For someone SO talented he was also SO professional. From the moment I came across STAK's website I knew I had found someone special. His wedding photos were not like the thousands of others I’d seen across my lifetime. He had a candid style all his own. The tender behind the scene moments mixed with high energy party scenes and everything in between took my breath away. Steven further solidified my gut feeling upon every interaction I had with him. He was prompt, polite and professional. It felt like I had just met a new friend not some random for hire. His studio was inviting and packaging throughout is 5 star. From start to finish Steven was personal without being pushy or phony. His pictures are a perfect blend of a romantic comedy. He mixes formal and fun with such high taste and creativity. He & his assistant got all my shot list requests and captured hundreds of candids that left me in awe. All people keep saying is “wow, those photos!” Top to bottom our expectations were exceeded. Hiring him was the best decision I made in the wedding process aside from saying I do!

Steven was the first person outside of my immediate family and friends that I thought of after I got engaged. I knew off the bat that I wanted images that captured the totally unscripted and impromptu moments of my wedding. And I just knew that Steven was the person to do it.

I first became familiar with his work from another friend’s wedding 7 years prior. He managed to catch some epic mid-air dance moves worthy of a rock band photographer and whether or not he’d characterize that as one of his signature styles, I just never forgot that. His work tells stories when arranged together, and they’re beautiful works of art on a standalone basis. For one who has (not surprisingly) won accolades for his work, he is very down-to-earth, warm and open. He has an easy-going way with his photography subjects and my guests have noted to me how they felt comfortable with the camera snapping away; in fact, they hardly noticed he was there. Everyone was able to be themselves, be present in the moment, and you can see that so vividly in the finished product.

And the STAK Booth is an absolute must! The photo booth in general might sound a bit overplayed by now but this was a definite hit at my wedding. My wedding was in July 2016, so we had Clinton & Trump face-masks and accessories. The props certainly brought out a side to people we didn't know they had!

Steven Young is not only an extremely talented photographer, but also a great story teller. His attention to detail, his ability of capturing those precious moments which is simply priceless and the outcome would only enrich your memories and yet blow you away.
Steven Young is very professional and yet laid back. He has this amazing work ethic and personable approach, once he starts clicking his camera, you know you found the right guy and you could simply enjoy your event freely.
We also rented a photo booth from STAK Studios, we were so glad that we did as our guests had so much fun with it and the photo quality was superb.

There are honestly not enough words that I can say that will capture how much I loved that Steven was our photographer for our wedding day. He is the most professional, caring, thoughtful, and talented photographer, and I am truly so lucky and blessed to have stumbled upon him and chosen him as our photographer. As every wedding day is stressful, Steven managed to keep me (the bride) at my calmest and was so patient and kind that I felt as if we were building a friendship rather than just a business relationship. His incredible talent is unmatched - he is so creative and so very original that the photos he produces will never be the same as other photographers. There was one moment that he had my husband and I stand behind a shower curtain, and although it may have seemed silly at the time, he produced a beautiful photo of our silhouette, and it is now one of my favorite photos of the wedding. He managed to capture every single moment of the wedding, and I can't thank him enough.

Along with being professional and incredibly talented, the quality of pictures he produces is top notch and worth every penny. When we met with him at his studio after the wedding to see our photos for the first time, I felt as if I was reliving my wedding and was almost brought to tears all over again. He took SO many photos, way more than I ever would have expected or hoped for. To this day, almost 2 years later, I look at our photos and feel as if I'm back at my wedding all over again. Also, I cannot forget to mention the countless times people have come to us complimenting us on our wedding photos and how professional Steven was in our wedding.

It was truly a blessing that STAK photography was there for our wedding. I cannot recommend them enough, and you surely will not be disappointed if you go with them. No matter what type of photography you are into, one would think that every bride and groom looks for a photographer that can truly capture the essence of the couple and their love. It was truly serendipitous that Steve was THE photographer for our wedding day as he actually had a cancellation when we reached out to him for our day. We cannot express how much Steve brought from day one. He is extremely professional, responsive, caring and unbelievably talented. At the day of the wedding, he was everywhere making sure to capture all moments without being intrusive, at the slightest. And we have the pictures to prove that. He somehow managed to capture EVERY meaningful moment as we remembered it that night. Looking at the pictures 3 months later, we are able to transport back to that day as if it happened yesterday. We are sure we will feel the emotions 10, 20, 30 years from now. And that is definitely the type of photographer you want capturing your wedding day.

Steven is one of the most talented, kind, and committed professionals we have ever worked with. It felt more like we were making a new best friend than just finding a photographer. Steven got to know us each as individuals AND us as a couple so he could capture our special day not only through his amazing artistic eyes, but capture it in a way that we would want to see our story told. After our first meeting with Steven we had the confidence that he would deliver 150% and he most certainly did. Simply put, STAK photography made us most eased out of the stress out of our day. From the first day we met, he was great and really was flexible with what we wanted. Antonio and him were great, and they did what they could do. STAK booth photos came out great. We are eagerly awaiting our edited photos! The guy is a freaking chameleon and funny, and just does his job the best out of the world. He showed up on time, responded to all our emails in a timely fashion, and did what we told him to do.

Steven truly captured the happiness and excitement of our wedding day! From the day that we booked STAK we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Steven always helped to answer our questions and ease my mind when it come to arranging our schedule for our big day, since our wedding day was also the same day as the 5 borough bike tour. The day of our wedding arrived and Steven made us feel comfortable and have a great time taking photographs. Steven's enthusiasm and passion for photography is contagious. Stak was the first vendor we booked for our wedding and we did not regret our decision at all! We knew from the very beginning that we had to have Steven as our photographer. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and made us feel comfortable. We has so much fun taking picture with him!

Hiring Steven was the best decision we made for our wedding (other than marrying each other!). Not only are his photographs spectacular, but he is incredible to work with. The entire evening we could tell Steven was putting 100% into our photos. Last night we saw the pictures for the first time and we were blown away! Most brides are stressed when planning a wedding. I am so fortunate to have worked with such wonderful vendors that I did not need to worry about a thing. STAK went above and beyond. From my first meeting with them I knew that they were hardworking, talented and very down-to-earth people that I could easily relate to. On the day of my wedding, I felt so comfortable with them and that is evident in my BEAUTIFUL photographs.

Not only are the photos fantastic but STAK was also very responsive to me. Anytime I emailed or called I was able to get in contact with them immediately. They also helped me decide on where the best place was to take my pictures. I had many ideas about where to do my first-glance shots. Steve made suggestions and we worked together to decide the best place, and it truly was!

I highly recommend STAK for any of your photography needs. I've spoken to brides who have told me they looked at their photos once and put them away - I have been looking at mine almost everyday since I've received them!

Wow. To say STAK delivers is an understatement.

From the very start of our wedding planning, my fiancé and I had agreed that our top priority was the photos. After all the planning and partying, our photos would tell the story and help us to hopefully revisit one of the most special days of our lives. STAK truly stands out from the many photographers we researched, and partnering with them was the best decision ever.

We had very high expectations from STAK from looking at their work, yet somehow they still managed to exceed these expectations with their extraordinary talent, energy and professionalism. They are responsive, reliable, thorough and thoughtful, and really go above and beyond for their clients.

Having just seen our full photo library during our viewing party (yes – viewing party – so fun), we felt like we just got married again! It is simply amazing how these photos pull the real emotions out from that day. Steven has an incredible eye and managed to capture all of the best moments during our wedding – from beginning to end – and all from a unique perspective.

Choosing STAK as our photographers for our wedding was definitely one of the best decisions we made. Before we met with Steven, I was moved to tears browsing the website. I couldn't believe I had such emotion from looking at pictures of strangers. I knew I wanted our special day documented in that way. STAK exceeded all of our expectations and we felt so lucky that we found them. Steven caught some special moments where I didn't even know he was nearby. The first (and 2nd and 3rd) time I saw our pictures, I cried. I don't think there is another photographer out there who would have shot our wedding day like this. I would highly recommend STAK Photography.

Steven is extremely responsive and took the time to get to know us as a couple. He was also very transparent is laying out all the package options available for us to choose from.

On the our wedding day, Steve was all over the place, snapping away, probably took thousands of pictures to capture the story of our wedding. The shots he took were a combination of romance, fun, thoughtfulness, and just very natural, happy shots with remarkable framing. The STAK-booth was also a huge success, it definitely prompted our guests to do some crazy fun things at the photobooth.

After our wedding, Steve sent us a great preview picture that got us very excited. He kept us posted by blogging a series of photos captured from various parts of the day. And during the wedding photo premier party, it was such a joy to go over all the pictures and re-live our wedding day again at STAK's studio on big screen over a bottle of champagne. Steve is also a genius in selecting the right photos arranged in a thoughtful layout in making a storyboard of our wedding in a beautiful photo album.

LOOK NO FURTHER! I can't stress enough that you will be blown away by choosing Stak. I live in Boston and was getting married in NJ so I chose all my vendors by researching and reading reviews. I narrowed it down to a few photographers and met with them on Skype. We knew right away that our personalities would work together - these were two very humble, pleasant, kind, and extremely talented people. They are genuine and you know it as soon as you speak with them. Before meeting with them, we were impressed by their candid style. We decided to sign with them and getting the paperwork done was a breeze. They are extremely responsive to emails and calls and always keep things simple and catered to their clients. They make you feel like you are their only client by the attention and care that they give and take a sincere interest in getting to know you. We first met in person for our engagement shoot. We are so glad we did this because we got to know the two of them really well and got some AMAZING shots! We shot during an extreme heat wave. Steven and Tak love their job so much that I think they would have shot for hours more. They were truly born to do this and the way they work together is so natural and seamless. It's amazing to be around! From the moment Steven and Tak arrived on our wedding day to the very last step they took off the elevator, they did not stop snapping pictures! Not in an annoying way, it was like they were always there but you never felt them there. They have a way of blending in but not missing a moment. There isn't a single thing I could suggest that they do better. They are full of surprises & special touches. Our wedding day wouldn't have been the same without them & the memories they documented are priceless. Before I got engaged, I knew Steve and Tak would be our wedding photographers. I knew Tak in high school and after college, we reconnected on Facebook where I found out that her and Steve were wedding photographers. I loved looking at their photos and always thought how beautiful they were. After quite a few years later, I finally got engaged and didn't think twice about who my wedding photographers would be (thanfully they were available).

Steve and Tak did our engagement photos also. We planned our engagement shoot, but had to reschedule a least 4 times due to the weather. Stak was flexible and were very accommodating. My now husband and I were real nervous about the engagement shoot....how we would look and what we would do, but it turned out to be a great experience. We had a lot of fun and it felt so natural. This showed in our photos. It felt comfortable.

The day of the wedding went by quick, I barely remembered what happened, but Steve and Tak captured everything and more! They never got in anyones way. They were professional and never intrusive. When we saw the wedding photos for the first time, it was like reliving my wedding again. Every photo evoked emotion. It brought us back to one of the best days of our lives. The quality of the photos were amazing. They looked as if it came out of a magazine.

It was great to work with Steve and Tak. They quickly responded to any questions we had and were very helpful. They are friendly and truly care about their work as if it was their own wedding. Our wedding photos were very important to us. We made the best choice with STAK and are very happy with the whole experience. They're very talented and and it shows through their photos.

From the beginning, photography was one of the most important things for the wedding to me. I wanted great pictures to last us a lifetime. We definitely got that with Stak! We first saw Stak at work at my friend's wedding (Tina + Ajay) about a year and a half ago. I couldn't get over how energetic and fun they were. They seemed to be everywhere and people just fed off of their energy and the reception just went to another level. When we saw the actual photos we were just blown away at how they captured every single thing that happened, every expression and emotion from multiple angles! I knew that they had to be our wedding photographers,
I'd figure out a way to get them to Puerto Rico for our wedding.

Last November we had our engagement shoot in Central Park, it was a lot of fun and a great way to start a relationship with them, once our wedding day came along it felt like we had friends shooting our wedding, not strangers which just made it so much easier to just relax and be ourselves. Our families were so impressed with them, that was all they talked about for days after the wedding!

We just viewed all our wedding photos this past Monday, Steven and Tak prepared a beautiful slideshow set to music that fit our wedding perfectly. I cried like I hadn't at our wedding and by the end of the slideshow I felt we had relived our wedding day, I was exhausted from our party all over again!
We are so incredibly happy with our photos, we could not have asked for anything more, we are just sorry we don't get to hang out with Steve and Tak anymore, maybe we can get married again just so they can shoot it?

It is amazing to find people who love their job this much and who care as much about your day as you do, I feel so lucky to have found them and you will too.

I had the unique pleasure of meeting Steven and Tak Young on the night that my now husband proposed to me! My husband hired Steven and Tak Young to document our proposal at Rockefellar Center, NYC. What resulted was an absolutely AMAZING documentation of the most exciting night of our life! Not only did they capture every moment and emotion, but they even got my mother cheering in a crowd of hundreds of people! After the proposal, Steven and Tak spent some more time with us and were SO friendly. They made us feel very comfortable getting our picture taken. Not only do we feel so tremedously lucky to have our proposal documented, but their work was so amazing that, to look at our pictures, is to relive the most exciting moment in our life!

Soooooo...it was no brainer to hire them for our engagement photo session AND wedding! And AGAIN, they did not disappoint! They arrived on time and happy to get to work (and they didn't stop the whole day!) They took some posed pictures for us, but really spent majority of the day taking pictures of the moments and the details of our day. They captured EVERYTHING!

I have to admit, even though their work is magnificent, I was nervous to see our pictures because I don't feel I am very photogenic. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY from their pictures! They made two slideshows for us - and watching them was so amazing! We relived the happiest day of our life! They even designed us an awesome album, but we are having trouble finalizing it because there are sooooo many wonderful pictures to choose from!

You will not regret hiring Steven and Tak! They are so friendly, easy to work with, and two of the most talented photographers I have ever met. We were so lucky to meet them! :)

My husband and I hired "STAK Photographer Duo" for a small intimate Indian wedding and our 350 person reception in NYC which lasted two days. We were in complete awe after experiencing these works of art. I use the word "experiencing" because its more than "seeing" - you actually experience the moments over again. During our search process, we looked for photographers who could show more than pretty faces smiling, trained monkeys can do that.. I wanted people who could capture moments of our wedding, all the emotional, funny, bizarre, and quirky stuff that goes on in throwing a wedding and STAK did exactly that. Our STAK photos were REAL, CREATIVE and they had HEART...you feel an emotion in every photograph.

Like most people, if you don't live in the limelight, the thought of having two people follow you around snapping photos of everything you do can be uncomfortable and even a little daunting, but this was certainly NOT the case for us. Steven + Tak have a quiet, almost invisible presence, so you don't even realize you're being photographed and also, there is something about them that makes you feel comfortable to be yourself. But NOTE: don't underestimate their "invisible presence" because their work is powerful and it packs a punch. They surprised us in their ability to catch all the small details that we missed because of the rush of the day. It was only through the photos that I got a chance to see all the decor that I spent months planning on, purchasing and agonizing over but ended up missing on the actual day- and that was so cool. The two of them even made a splash with our guests who stated that they were "all over the place and worked their butts off." (How they managed to be everywhere and always with us at all the perfect times is beyond me.)

On a technical level, Steven + Tak know lighting, and angles, they play with it and sprinkle it on like pixie dust. One minute you're standing there in a pose thinking -"is this gonna work???" and next thing you know, KABOOM! it's one of the BEST photos in the lot and then you start seriously wondering why Vogue hasn't called you yet. (BTW, Vogue, you can reach me on my cell..) lol On a business level, dealing with STAK in terms of contracts and financial issues, we were very impressed at how professional they were. All our business transactions went on with out a hitch (excuse the pun!). On a personal level, Steven + Tak are really humble and they have their own styles and talents and you see them play off each others strengths plus, you get the benefit of having two different styles of photography. I especially loved the fact that they were husband and wife. Steven + Tak work exceptionally well together, a kind of Ying and Yang, watching them work reminds one why people get married in the first place. They worked with us on their first anniversary which was such an honor and to me, it was also a testament to their personal dedication to their artwork. I mean who the hell chooses to work on their 1st wedding anniversary, on a weekend??? The answer: only people who love their work.

I guess it's clear, my husband and I have only great things to say about STAK and I'm from New York so if there was anything negative, I would have said it already.

It was an honor and a pleasure to work with Steven + Tak and they will be our go-to photographers. Right now, my husband is laughing at me cause' I'm already thinking up occasions just to be able to hire them again .. "um pregnancy?, baby photos?, Birthdays?, 10th anniversary?, 20th??!!" lol This vendor was by far, the one that I had the highest expectations for and they more than delivered! If you were at our wedding, you watched the photos and they brought you back in time and if you weren't at our wedding, those photos sure as hell made you want to have been there! lol Bottomline, my husband and I recommend them to anyone who wants stunning artwork that gives you memories that will last for a lifetime.

I actually saw STAK's work on my friends Facebook page before even meeting my husband. I knew from that day if I were to ever get married, that I wanted Steven and Tak to photograph my wedding. The day after I got engaged, I immediately e-mailed Steven. He always responded to my e-mails within a few hours (sometimes within a few minutes!) and made reserving the dates and setting up details for our wedding and engagement photo shoot extremely smooth. We drove up to New York from Northern Virginia a month after we got engaged and had our engagement shots taken outside the city. Steven and Tak gave us great direction the entire time and made us feel very comfortable during the shoot. It was FREEZING that day, but you never would have guessed by the look of our photos! We used one of the photos for our save the date postcard and our guests went crazy raving about it and showing them off to their friends and co-workers.

I'm really happy we did the engagement shoot because come our wedding day, we understood how they worked and directed, so we were not nervous at all during the wedding and knew exactly what to expect. They cared so much about wanting to get to know all of our family and guests that they asked if it would be okay to stop by our rehearsal dinner. On the day of, they arrived early to scout out the church and reception site so they already had ideas in mind for great shots. From the moment I walked out of my car to the church to start getting ready at 2PM, they were snapping away and did not stop until we drove away from the reception site at 10PM! I actually had to double check with Tak that they stopped for a second to eat their dinner!

After the wedding when we would talk to family and friends about how the day went, everyone was commenting on how wonderful Steven and Tak were and that they could not wait to see how awesome are pictures would be. I won't give any details to ruin the surprise, but they had a special way of previewing the wedding pictures for us when we were in NY recently. My husband and I were crying and laughing, just reliving every moment as if we were at the wedding all over again. They did not miss a beat and captured every special moment and much more. We ended up with almost 800 pictures .... with ALL 800 being frame worthy. I think that speaks volumes and cannot say enough about how happy my husband and I (along with our parents) are with choosing STAK. From the day I saw their work, I had no doubts that they would be the best and I can assure you that if you choose them, you will not be disappointed! Go with STAK! You will not regret it. The difference between their photos and the average wedding photographer's is enormous. Instead of stilted, boring pictures, you will have action shots that truly capture the energy of your wedding. Their images are artful; the subject choices and the compositions are stunning. Not to mention, Steve and Tak are a pleasure to work with. I had a complaint about almost all of the vendors we went with, but our photographer. They were perfect.

OUTSTANDING work. I was introduced to Steven & Tak's work through one of my sister's best friends. We were looking at their online slideshow (Kerri & Asa) and I was just blown away by how dynamic the photo's were. They even picked a more than appropriate song for the slideshow. After I checked out the rest of their website I was hooked.
When I told my husband about them and got an initial quote for the package we were interested in, we were a bit intimidated. Quite frankly this was the second most expensive thing that we purchased for the wedding (second only to the reception). That being said, we had decided that the quality of their work far outweighed that of any other photographer and was so good that we even decided not to use a videographer. We pooled that money and justified using their services for that reason. Boy were we spot on with that decision! Even the guests at our reception were impressed with how they could move throughout the crowds to get certain shots- but NOT to the extent that they were in the way. In fact, they were virtually "invisible" in that sense, which we loved!!! They even brought little postcards of shots from our engagement session and put them on the tables. So classy!!
Come to think of it they were completely focused on our wedding and needs which is amazing considering the fact that it was only 6 days before they got married themselves!! (congrats again!! Can't believe its been a year!!)
They have been nothing but accomodating and the pictures are so good they could be from magazines!! No joke- I actually cried when we got our first look at the slideshow from our wedding. This was arguably the most valuable purchase from our entire wedding and the BEST part is that this is the one thing that we have to help us remember the experience. In the end, after all you buy and all you worry about the only thing you have left are the memories and any pictures of the experience. We are lucky enough where these pictures are so amazing that they will bring us right back for the next 50 some-odd years. My only question is this: do you guys do baby photos??

My husband and I used STAK for both our engagement photos and our wedding photos. They are incredible - check them out at http://www.getstak.com (ours are Nicole + Josh) - a very dedicated pair of photographers. Our engagement session was only supposed to be 1 hr - but they got so into our shots it ended up being over 2 hours! Not only that, they did not charge us for the extra time. A great bonus with them is that they will give you freebies when you get enough comments on their website - we have a beautiful black and white 8x12 of one of our engagement photos and will soon get a huge canvas of another photo due to the amount of comments we received.

They were very flexible with my husband and I when it came to scheduling our engagement photos - as for wedding photos - they book up fast! So book them ahead - I think we got them a year or more in advance - one of the first vendors we picked - even before we settled on a date for the venue! They are worth every penny - after your wedding and engagement you'll want tokens of these times. Highly recommend both engagement and wedding photos - engagement because it will give you a feel for how to work with STAK and how to pose/what they're looking for in photos - also you'll have more relaxed faces/smiles during this time because it's not as stressful as the wedding. Steven and Tak did the photography for our friends' wedding, and we were so impressed that we booked them for our own wedding! We had an engagement session with them which was a blast, and the pictures were amazing!! We got so many compliments on them. As for the big day, we recently just had a viewing party, and were nothing short of thrilled with their work. They both have a very keen eye on capturing the moments, but their portrait work is beautiful as well. Their ability to capture emotions is second to none. We also saw some sample albums at their studio and were extremely impressed. We're so excited for engagement and wedding albums.

Steven and Tak are both very professional yet easily approachable. My husband and I truly consider them as our friends. They're also quick to respond, and as newlyweds themselves, they really understand how to make the process best for everyone involved.

Even though our big day has come and gone, I still follow their blog. Their photography is fresh and out-of-the-box, yet timeless.

This husband and wife duo are the most amazing photographers in NYC! I heard about Steve and Tak from a fellow LIWer and as soon as I saw the pictures I knew I wanted them involved in the "wedding" somehow! lol This was how! They were attentive and helpful. Steve was the person who I was most in contact with and true sweetheart doesn't come close to saying how great he is. Steven Young of STAK was amazing. We hired him to do our engagement photo session and our wedding. He has an amazing eye for detail, light and shadow, and incredibly unique perspectives (such as windows and mirrors) to catch breathtaking shots. He has a very calm personality that made us feel 100% at ease (especially helpful when we decided on a distance shot of us in the middle of crowded Grand Central Station, while he stood on the stairs near the Apple Store! We kept thinking as we hugged and kissed and people stared at us...yeah, this is normal, this is normal). The pix we got were GORGEOUS. From the first e-mail to the many calls and emails that followed, Steven was so responsive, thoughtful, flexible, accommodating...and, most importantly, his work is phenomenal and tear-inducing (the HAPPY KIND!). Having him at our house while we got ready on our wedding day was seamless. He is so subtle and sweet. He, and his assistant, were an absolute pleasure to have as part of our day. Our guests at the wedding commented to us afterwards "Your photographers were great. They were capturing it all, and never once got in the way." Going to his studio to view the slideshow once the pix were ready, had us both beaming and crying and smiling. We loved Steven and would hire him in a second all over again.

I originally came across STAK photographs as I was browsing venue pictures and just knew we had to consider working with them for our wedding- it was absolutely the best decision we could have made. The experience that Steven creates from the very first meeting, to leading up to your wedding, during your wedding day and even beyond is by far the best.

Because I travel for work I knew I wasn't going to get to meet Steven until the day of our wedding- which would make any bride nervous. He did everything he could to ensure the day went exactly as planned and put my nerves at ease by working with my husband through the entire process and the day went off without a hitch.

Steven's vision, professionalism and talent for capturing every memory of the evening is what really stood out to us- he went above and beyond what we ever could have imagined. Not only are the pictures absolutely gorgeous but Steven was so much fun to spend time with the day of our wedding.

STAK Photographers was one of the best choices we made to cap an already perfect day. Steven is very professional and VERY thorough and made sure that our experience was smooth, comfortable, and all encompassing. Working with Steven was absolutely FANTASTIC! I cannot say more great things about his work and our experience on our wedding day. He was very flexible and took so many photos. The saying goes, "pictures don't do it justice"...well, those people have obviously not met Steven Young from STAK and seen his work!
I can't even begin to explain what a pleasure it was to work with him for our wedding. Steven made the entire process stress-free. He was friendly, helpful, professional and we couldn't have made a better choice in our photographer. But, what truly blew us away is when we saw the pictures that Steven captured during our wedding and reception. It truly reflected all the emotions of the day and now we have these beautiful memories thanks to him. He has an amazing talent and passion for photography and it can be seen in every picture that he takes! Steven is amazing. The shots he got were fantastic, beautifully framed and incredible coloring/lighting. I specifically looked for a photographer who could take great shots indoors, since so many "great" photographers are only great with lots of natural light. Steven was easy to work with, responsive to all calls and emails, and flexible! He did miss a few details such as pictures of our rings, cake forks, an overview of the reception room, and a lot of group portraits that were on a shot list (such as the whole wedding party together, the groom with just his family, the two immediate families together, some of the elderly relatives, etc.) BUT he is absolutely THE BEST when it comes to candids. We were able to re-live our wedding through his photos because his best work was shot when we weren't posing. Looking through our photos is not just remembering the wedding, it feels like we're back there. Another amazing thing about Steven's work is he doesn't over-edit. We look like ourselves in the photos, not an idealistic version of us. After we got all our photos, I asked my husband if, in hindsight, he would hire Stak Studios again and we both agreed that we absolutely would!

STAK photography was beyond anything we could have asked for and now writing the review after we've seen the photos, we will say that hiring STAK was the best decision we made! We had a small wedding and knew that the photos were the most important factor in our wedding because it would be those photos that would allow for us to share our wedding moment with the rest of our friends and family who were not there. Not only was Steven easy AND FUN to work with, but he was so caring and made us feel so comfortable. He is also a true professional showing up on time and running around to document everything even if it meant going in the pouring rain. Knowing that we had him there to document lifted a huge weight off of our shoulders because we knew we didn't need to worry about a thing. In fact, on the day of our wedding, it went from sunny to full on downpour, and with any other photographer I might have worried that the photos would look dreary, but I didn't even panic knowing Steven was there snapping away. The end results were beyond anything we could have asked for. Even my husband appreciated the importance of photographs and our whole network of friends and family were blown away. As one attendee mentioned, you couldn't even tell it was dark and dreary from how wonderful, energetic, and romantic the photos were.

When researching photographers for our wedding, my MOH saw STAK's work on her friend's wedding website. She emailed me the link and I was instantly in love with their work. Both my Fiance and I were blown away. We had met with a few photographers and were a bit disapointed by the quality of work they were offering. It all seemed like the same old cheesy wedding photography. So even though Stak was at the very top of our price range, they blew the competition out of the water with their amazing portfolio.
Our engagement shoot: This was only the second time meeting the photographers, so i was a bit worried that we would not be able to relax in front of their cameras... I was wrong! They are fun and easy to be around. we shot for about 2.5 hours and had a blast. They gave us plenty of ideas on how and where to pose and where more than happy to try our ideas as well. The outcome: the pictures are stunning! People commented that they looked like pictures out of a magazine. Most of them don't even look posed. Very natural and fun.
Wedding: They arrived at the venue before I did! they were their relaxed/fun selves and again made it so easy for us to be ourselves in front of their cameras. My guest kept calling them "paparazzi" because they were everywhere at all times!
All in all, STAK is pricey... but worth every penny!
