We had our wedding reception at the Perry Hotel in June 2025 and it was absolutely perfect. The Perry Hotel exceeded our expectations. It is such a special location filled with character and charm. It is the perfect mix of Northern Michigan and costal elegance. Angie and Jill were extremely prepared and professional throughout the planning process, answering all of our questions and keeping us organized. We’ve received endless compliments on how amazing the staff, service, and food were at our wedding. We have no notes. It was truly perfect. Jill helped us incorporate passed espresso martinis after dinner and it was such a fun touch. The Perry made us feel so special, we never felt like just another number. We highly recommend getting married at The Perry!

I could not have been happier with my decision to have my wedding at the Perry! Angie and Jill are dream team. Everyone at the Perry is so nice, responsive, accountable, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond to ensure their bride and grooms have a stress free wedding. I cannot recommend the Perry enough - the views are absolutely beautiful, the food was amazing, and they can accommodate so many different things. Not a single thing went wrong on my wedding day or the weeks leading up to it thanks to the team at the Perry!

The venue was gorgeous. The view overlooking the water the pictures taken outside by the gazebo with all the flowers was breathtaking. We receive multiple compliments on how delicious the food was from the appetizers to the main meal. The staff went above and beyond adding little touches to make our special day even more special. When you’re planning a wedding, you envision it how the day will be and Perry hotel and staff made the transition so smooth that it went better than I could’ve ever imagined.

We are so happy that we got married at the Perry. Every member of the staff was amazing. From Angie & Jill helping us with all the wedding details to the front desk staff and bar tenders. They made the planning process easy and were just a joy to be around our wedding weekend. The vibes were so positive and fun!!

The hotel is quaint and the view overlooking the water is breathtaking. We loved the food and the entire reception set up.

We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended and we owe that to the Perry! I HIGHLY recommend this venue.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our wedding at The Perry Hotel. From the stunning location overlooking Lake Michigan to the flawless execution of every detail, the entire experience was unforgettable.

We feel especially lucky to have worked with Jill Harrell, who was truly the heart and soul of our planning process. Jill was exceptional—incredibly quick to respond, endlessly helpful, and full of smart, creative ideas that elevated our day in ways we hadn’t even imagined. No matter how big or small the question, Jill was on it, and always with such warmth and enthusiasm. She made us feel so supported and truly listened to every step of the way.

We’re also grateful to Cindy, who was so kind and helpful as our on-site coordinator. Her calm presence helped keep everything running smoothly throughout the evening.

The cocktail hour snacks were delicious, the drinks were expertly made, and our dinner and dessert were out of this world. The serving staff was so attentive and professional, striking the perfect balance of being available without ever interrupting the flow of the evening. Even when a surprise downpour rolled in, everything stayed perfectly dry inside the tent, and the staff handled the weather seamlessly—truly a testament to how well-prepared and experienced the team is.

The Perry Hotel gave us a wedding day that was joyful, beautiful, and completely stress-free. We’re so grateful for Jill and the entire team for making it all happen with such care and excellence. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Everyone at thee Perry is amazing - truly!!! We worked primarily with Jill for all of our planning but also worked a lot with Cindy on site. The year leading up to our wedding, Jill answered every single one of our questions and was always so gracious to take the time to connect with us anytime anything came up. She covered every detail so there was no stress going into the wedding day at all!
The Perry itself is absolutely gorgeous. We had ~190 people (almost the full hotel) and every event we hosted at the Perry (welcome drinks, ceremony, cocktail hour & reception) ran with ease. All of our guests loved the charm of hotel and raved about how kind and helpful all of the staff was. The food is SO good and the Noggin Room could not have been kinder about almost our whole wedding party coming in *unplanned* after our welcome drinks.
Also I have to mention that all other vendors we worked were on their recommended list - not only were these vendors amazing and we may not have found them without Jill/the hotel's recommendation, but they also absolutely all raved about working with the staff at the Perry, which I think speaks for itself.
From planning to cleaning up the next day, every person at the Perry went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and things were running smoothly. Truly one of the best days of my life and it would not have been the same without Jill, Cindy, and the full team! So appreciate for all of the time and effort they put into our day :)

We had our wedding in September 2023, and the Perry team, especially Angie, made the whole process enjoyable and seamless. After walking through the vision for the wedding and listening to their recommendations, so much stress was taken out of the planning process!

The service staff during our reception was absolutely wonderful. Everything came out in a timely manner and kept a great pace. My husband and I had the most wonderful night of our lives, and can't recommend The Perry enough!

The Stafford’s Perry Hotel staff went above and beyond to make our day incredible! Angie is one of a kind but all of the staff members who worked on our special day got tremendous kudos from our guests. I didn't have to worry about anything the day of - they just handled everything! Our guests are still talking about the meals and we’ve only heard incredible feedback. I know that there are dozens of weddings at the Perry Hotel every year, but they made me feel like I was their only wedding. I will forever be grateful to the Perry Hotel for not only facilitating the day of my dreams but going absolutely above and beyond compared to your traditional wedding venue.

Our two daughters were married three months apart, with the first wedding at The Perry. We knew Angie was organized and helpful and super easy to work with, but it wasn't until we expected the same professionalism with our next daughter's wedding that we realized what a great decision we had made in Petoskey. The second wedding didn't have anything go wrong or have anything to complain about, but there was nothing to rave about like we had experienced at every step of our planning and celebrating at The Perry. Our guests all commented on the wonderful food and service all night long. We are 100% fans of Angie and The Perry for a wedding reception.

Angie, Jill, and the rest of the staff were wonderful to work with. They were involved in everything from planning, set up/tear down, coordinating with vendors, and more. They truly made the whole experience a breeze and as stress free as possible. The views from the Rose Garden are amazing!!

Choosing the Perry was the best decision we made! They were so easy to plan with and helped make everything beautiful. Their input was very helpful and their staff was absolutely amazing! They have all been there for so long and work amazing together. They were very accommodating, especially while working on a budget!

We got married at The Perry in October of this year and had the perfect wedding weekend. I'm beyond grateful that we selected The Perry as our venue. Jill and Angie were incredible to work with. I didn't hire a planner or a day of planner, which I felt a bit nervous about, but didn't need one because Jill was so incredibly helpful in the planning process and helpful with the day of details. They were accommodating and quick to respond to my many questions throughout planning.

We had a Welcome Party, our ceremony, reception and farewell brunch all at The Perry and every detail was exactly what we wanted. It was so fun having almost all of our guests also stay at the hotel. We are from Chicago and all of our guests had to travel to Petoskey, so having everything in one place made it so convenient. The Perry is perfectly located in Petoskey allowing for our guests to walk around to explore the goodness that is Northern Michigan. I highly recommend The Perry - it seriously was a dream of a weekend!

The best thing we did was book our venue with Stafford’s Perry! Everyone there was so helpful from the very beginning, and were phenomenal to work with. Angie and Jill were fantastic to work together with, responsive with everything throughout the process, and more than willing to help. Everyone there was kind, welcoming, helpful, supportive, and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect place for our wedding. The location, food, and everything was perfect!! Stafford’s Perry is without a doubt five stars and the true definition of class and professionalism.

The Rose Garden Veranda was the absolutely the most gorgeous and picturesque venue I could have ever imagined. The backdrop with the sunset and the colorful flowers is like NO other. Angie was so helpful throughout the entire process. She is extremely knowledgable and her experience is unmatched. I was able to fully trust her recommendations. She is direct, smart and knows exactly what she is talking about. The food was delicious, the staff was very polite and our guests were so impressed. It was truly the wedding of my dreams. Everything about the Perry exceeded my expectations.

We had a May 2023 Wedding, our ceremony was held outside in the stunning Rose Garden overlooking Lake Michigan. Cocktail hour was also held outside under the veranda, while the reception was inside the H.O. Rose Room. I can’t say enough positive things about Stafford’s Perry Hotel Staff. Angie and the Team who work alongside wedding couples go above and beyond in every step of wedding planning to make sure you have a problem free, seamless, perfect wedding day. This is exactly the day we had. The food was perfect, the timing management is taken care of by the staff at the Perry Hotel. They give every ounce of care they have and put it towards your wedding day. I can’t recommend this venue enough, mostly because of the staff, but also because of the gorgeous garden views. The inside of the Perry is quite old, some elements I did not care for but with enough interior design elements (linens, candles, charger plates, florals, etc.) the place can be transformed into whatever you dream.

I grew up spending my summers just down the road from the Perry Hotel and always knew I wanted a Northern Michigan wedding. I looked around a little bit, but knew my dream wedding could only happen at one place! Angie and her team could not have been easier or better to work with. Angie has so much experience and has planned hundreds of weddings there, and it shows. She was so much fun to plan the wedding with, and she and the Perry staff were so accommodating to our vendors and guests. The night ran like clockwork, the food was great and the staff was incredible. My dream wedding came true and I could not have asked for a better day/night. All of our guests, who came from out of town, fell in love with the Northern Michigan hospitality. One thing people really loved was the setup of the dance floor. We had two bars set up on either end of the dance floor which really got people out there and dancing all night long. It was the best dance floor I've personally ever experienced at a wedding. :) I get emotional thinking about how perfect the day was, and I couldn't recommend the Perry more! I feel like we struck up a friendship with Angie and her team too, and look forward to more Perry weddings in our future.

Angie and the whole event staff at the Stafford’s Perry are flawless. When I was planning our wedding there are so many little details that often felt very overwhelming. After postpone
ing my wedding in 2020 I was feeling like things were piling up and I was going to miss something important. However, I should have never had a doubt because the moment the planning process started up in 2021 Angie, Xaina, and their team nailed it. They handled everything from start to finish. Their professionalism is unparalleled and their caring and attention to detail genuinely incredible. The stress and burden they took off my shoulders can’t be described, I truly felt relaxed the entire wedding (other than normal wedding gitters) because I knew they had me covered in every way possible. My wedding party, and the family closest to us and involved in the planning process all complimented them to us during the evening at how awesome Angie and the staff was.

Also, to give more compliments, if you are looking for a place to get married the Rose Garden Veranda was stunning. It rained the day of our wedding, but it did not stop the venue from being truly perfect. Again, many people complimented us on the beauty of the day & venue.

If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. My husband and I strongly recommend you choose this team to trust with your big day – they won’t disappoint you in any way.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Stafford's Perry Hotel team. My husband and I didn’t have to worry about a thing on our wedding day. Angie & Xania made the planning process so easy, and the Perry staff's execution was seamless. Our reception was in the Rose Garden Veranda & it ended up pouring rain during dinner. Their tent system is absolutely amazing - not a drop of rain entered the area. Amazing! They are experts in providing a superior guest experience. The food was fantastic and the service was seamless.

I am still floating on Cloud 9 from having our reception at the Stafford's Perry! It was hands down the most beautiful scenery and the staff (Angie & Xania specifically) were fully invested in ensuring we had a PERFECT wedding. Our guests raved about the food saying it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding and the staff was professional and friendly to all of our guests. Working with this team was by far the best experience of our entire wedding planning process and I would highly recommend this venue for any future bride!!

We had the best wedding day at the Perry Hotel! From the amazing staff, to the delicious food, to the stunning views from the Rose Room, this venue cannot be beat. Through all the ups and downs of wedding planning during this time, the staff was outstanding at communication and making sure we had the safest celebration. The staff at the Perry was excellent! They were always quick to respond to our questions, willing to accommodate our requests, and truly worked with us to make our wedding day special. They also were incredibly accommodating and helpful while navigating a reschedule due to covid; they communicated any policy changes with us quickly, and worked with us to find solutions that work for us and the hotel. We didn't use a wedding planner, and I never felt like I needed one with the Perry. We highly recommend Stafford's Perry Hotel!

Our wedding at the Perry September 12, 2020 at Stafford’s Perry Hotel was perfect. A lot could have gone wrong given the uncertainty of COVID-19 this year and the day-long rain storm forecasted for that day. But we had booked the most amazing venue with the most amazing team for our wedding, and so we had the wedding of our dreams celebrating with family and friends.

We live in Petoskey, so picking a wedding venue was simple considering Stafford’s legendary hospitality and you’ve seen the views from the Perry Veranda. We had already committed to the Perry for our special day before meeting Angie, our wedding coordinator.

There was no question or concern too trivial for Angie in the year leading up to our wedding. Even when COVID-19 threatened all happiness in 2020 and many couples were canceling their wedding, Angie was constantly in communication with us about the safety protocols and how it would work if we did decide to postpone. None of us had all the answers when it comes to the global pandemic (and we still don’t), but Angie made us confident we could safely have our loved ones with us to celebrate that day. Throughout the process Angie made us feel as though she were planning this wedding for a close friend or family member.

The week of the wedding a rainstorm threatened to dampen our entire weekend. With everything happening in 2020 it was really depressing to think our wedding would be rained out. Once again, Angie had a plan. We thought the ceremony and reception would have to be significantly altered to protect the guests from the elements, but Stafford’s already had the tent walls and heaters ready. They even had a plan to protect and still feature the vintage furniture we had rented for the event. Angie was so upbeat and confident about everything we really did not worry at all about the weather.

The day of the event every detail was taken care of. Angie took so much care setting up the decorations and favors we had brought in for our guests. She checked in on us several times throughout the reception to make sure we were having as much fun as the guests. When the dress bustling wasn’t going well, Angie found us struggling and literally dropped to the floor to help figure it out. We felt so special all evening at the Perry, especially when the team at Stafford’s had our personalized Noggin Room mug waiting for us at the head table. We had earned the mug by drinking a long list of beers right before the pandemic shut everything down, and due to the timing the mug hadn’t been personalized. Days before the wedding we mentioned it to Angie, and somehow the mug was there to use on our special day.

It’s not surprising that two weeks after the wedding we’re still hearing raving reviews from our guests about their experience, and how impressed they were with the Stafford’s team. There is no shortage of stories our guests have told us. A few family members couldn’t attend at the last minute, one a close uncle due to a biking accident the day before - the waiter at his table was genuinely concerned about him and boxed up his meal for other relatives to take home to him that night.

We can’t stop smiling thinking about our wedding day, and Angie and Stafford’s are a huge reason why. Thanks to them we had our dream wedding in the middle of a pandemic. Our guests were safe and they had the best time celebrating. In times like these we can’t take for granted these special days. It was a day at the Perry we will never forget.

We have so many kind words to express our wedding day experience. My husband and I have been planning our wedding for a year and a half only to cancel our wedding 24 days before the big day. We planned to get married in NY but change everything last minute due to the pandemic. We never expected to have the wedding of our dreams after this happening, however, we did. We had the wedding of our dreams. All thanks to the Stafford Perry Hotel. Both Xania and Angie made our dreams come true. They took on our last minute wedding and made it incredible. They are very organized and make everything so easy. The wedding day itself was magical. From everything to the set-up, ceremony, decor, food, wait staff, bartenders, margarita was incredible and I am very picky about my margs lol. My guest are still raving about how excellent the food was. The attention to detail on the tables was amazing. We have so many more kind words to say. If you are between venues, choose this one. You will not be disappointed. This team is so fun to work with and make wedding planning a breeze.

Angie and her team at the Perry Hotel made the process from full wedding pre-pandemic dreams to a perfect microwedding during Covid as smooth as possible. Her team helped us understand everything that was going on up there from restrictions to fully helping us plan a Plan B wedding in a few short weeks. It was a magical garden wedding on the veranda with just immediate family, and we watched the most beautiful sunset that only Northern Michigan could deliver in Adirondack chairs. It was the most Northern Michigan wedding experience we could have asked for, and we are so glad that it was our experience.

The Perry Hotel has to be one of the classiest establishments in Northern Michigan and we are so fortunate we picked the Perry for our wedding! We were happy to hear they offered a value season wedding option so that we could save money, but still be at an amazing venue.

The moment we met Angie during our consultation meeting, we just knew we had to get married at the Perry! Angie is so perfect at her job and made a crazy planner and worry-wort like myself feel at ease. Throughout the year of planning, we enjoyed getting to know the entire Sales Department staff and always felt at ease with how kind, courteous and lovely they were on phone or email.

Our guests commented over and over again with how amazing the venue was and we couldn't agree more!! They are still talking about how amazing the Perry Hotel is. We were all so impressed with the hotel and staff - they are all top notch and wonderful!

The Stafford's Perry hotel and their entire staff were a dream come true for our wedding reception venue. They not only prepared the most beautiful, professional and welcoming reception, but they also helped us every step of the way to plan our "destination wedding" in Petoskey, as we are from the Detroit area. Angie was our biggest help along the way and was so patient as I asked her a million questions, and always was looking for her advice and expertise. She was so kind and helpful through my entire wedding process. She made us feel like family. The reception itself was absolutely stunning. We rented the outdoor rose garden veranda on Labor Day weekend. Everything flowed together so beautifully and my family and guests can't stop talking about how amazing the service was. And the food was phenomenal as well, which never happens at weddings! Every plate tasted as if it was the only one made. We can't say enough about how much we loved our wedding. The Perry even sent us home with beautiful memorabilia of our specific wedding and the venue. Thank you so much for making our day an absolute dream come true!

Starting with the professional event planners and ending with literally every single employee, the service provided by Stafford's Perry was fantastic! The venues are gorgeous - especially the Rose Garden Veranda, the food top notch, the hotel pristine and tasteful. Our high expectations were exceeded!

The professional and detailed event planning staff gave me such a peace of mind. I knew Debbie, Nikki, Angie and Natalie had everything covered. We used the vendors on the list they provided to us. The wedding ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. The front desk staff, namely Rick, took all the room swapping with such a great attitude. He was so proud to show us the kids names behind the desk in blocks. The wait staff both at the restaurant and the ceremony were so professional and were excited for us. The manager at the Noggin, which we took over after the rehearsal and ceremony, was accommodating. Even tho we drove him nuts! The guests raved over the food (filet mignon with salmon) and desserts. The view was another topic. Gorgeous. Not to mention the sunset. Thanks for helping in making the kids' day magical.

WE CAN’T SAY ENOUGH about how pleased we were with the Perry Hotel staff and the professionalism of their employees! From the moment we booked the Perry all the way through to our daughter’s wedding day, they were so helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and courteous every step of the way! We can’t thank Angie, Debbie and Natalie enough for everything they did to make our daughter’s wedding the most beautiful day ever. If you are contemplating choosing the Perry Hotel for any venue, trust me you won’t be sorry! All we can say is thank you, thank you, thank you!

I booked this venue from Colorado, only having driven past it once ... that can be scary, but what I received was far greater than exceptional. Every time I had a question it was answered promptly (I had a lot of questions as we had booked more than a year out and thousands of miles away). We arrived to Michigan a week and a half before the wedding. Our final detail meeting with the crew made me feel very at ease and even more excited for our big day. Rehearsal went smoothly and I know that Angie was my moms greatest blessing after meeting her (my mom was VERY anxious and Angie put her worries at ease.). Day of was the easiest and least stressful day of the last year and a half; and I really owe it all to the staff at Stafford’s. We were reminded of where to be and when, and it took so much stress off of myself. Their attention to detail was amazing, I showed up and was blown away by how beautiful everything was set up. During our cocktail hour family started picking at the desserts, I did not want that happening and I told Angie, she immediately went and printed a sign saying dessert is for after dinner. LIKE WHAT?!?! We also weren’t sure if we were going to be able to eat enough so I had asked Angie to save us some food. She sent up a mini fridge filled with dinner and desserts for us, we were so thankful! Our bartenders were exceptional as well; I fell in love with the Rosé they served and one of them was kind enough to bring a bottle and two glasses up to our room for me.

I really cannot day enough good things about the Perry. It was the most perfect day and I’m tearing up writing how amazing the entire staff was. We look forward to Angie and her family visiting steamboat so we can take them around he mountain. If you book at the Perry you will NOT be disappointed.

If you're looking into the Perry for a wedding venue, you most likely know a lot about it. If you're asking yourself is it worth it, the answer is absolutely. Perry serves quality everything and that goes twice for the staff. They are helpful, insightful, responsive, fun and very polite. Choose them!

Our experience of holding my daughter's wedding shower at the Bay View Inn was amazing in every way possible. Angie was so helpful in every way and helped us plan every detail with no fuss and no anxiety. The set up and food were outstanding, and when the evening was over all we had to do was gather up the gifts, no clean up! I wholeheartedly recommend the BVI, and thank Angie for her professional skills and personal kindness!

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Stafford's Perry Hotel and their staff. When we came up from downstate to tour wedding venues, Angie spent an hour with us to show us all the different options they offered. She answered a million questions and gave us so many recommendations of what to ask to other venues as well, she is such a professional. From the beginning, the people at Stafford's made the difference for us. They are all so knowledgeable, kind and willing to help in any way they can. It would literately be impossible to get better service anywhere else. We had a welcome party the night before the wedding in the Resort Room, the servers were quick with the drinks and the hors d'oeuvres were so tasty. It was nice having the option of opening the doors to be able to hear the live music playing in The Noggin Room too. We had both our wedding and reception on the Rose Garden Veranda in late June, the backdrop of the flowers and the view of the bay were stunning and all of our pictures look amazing! We added the string lights to the tent as well which really made the whole garden feel magical at dusk. The food was so, so good. We received countless compliments on the morel chicken and the beef dishes. The servers, bartenders and everyone involved were so quick to help in any way and it all came together flawlessly. We were never really worried about our wedding turning out anything other than perfect. The whole team, Angie (the wedding Yoda), Nikki and the staff are so passionate about making sure you have the day of dreams, it will turn out nothing less than exactly that!

I would be remissed if I didn’t call out Angie Whitener specifically! She went above and beyond my expectations and her partnership is second to none! Between the people, the location, the back drop ...the whole experience was perfect. Dreams do come true! The Perry Hotel was truly the perfect wedding day venue!

The entire experience with Stanford’s was amazing - they were very easy to work with and had many options to choose from, based on your preferences and budget. The on-site staff was very attentive on our wedding day - making sure everything went off without a hitch! We had our ceremony in the garden and the reception in the Rose Room. Both were gorgeous and our guests still talk about how phenomenal the views were. It was a pleasure to work with Debbie, Nikki, and Kayla - I would highly recommend the Perry!

We are so, so happy we chose Stafford's Bay View Inn for our wedding! We wouldn't change one single thing. Stacey, Debbie, Janette, Angie, Nikki, and the entire team were absolutely amazing to work with throughout the entire planning process; every question was answered, absolutely every detail came together perfectly thanks to them, and we never worried about anything - we just knew it was taken care of. We had a beautiful (hot!) day for our ceremony in the gorgeous garden, and held the reception inside, and it was perfect. The food was incredible! We heard all day and night from family and friends how beautiful the venue was, how glad they were that we gave them a chance to take a trip to Northern Michigan, and how they couldn't imagine a more perfect day. We can't thank everyone at the Bay View Inn enough!

Our wedding at the Bay View Inn was absolutely perfect!! Most of the guests stayed at the Inn and everyone of them said that they will be back to stay again! Everything was so wonderful it is hard to put it all in words! The staff were so kind and helpful with all of our needs, and made us feel like family! They went above and beyond that of hospitality standards for certain!!!!! We had so much fun with all the little things at the Inn which made it feel so homey, and none of us wanted to leave! The food was so amazing, all the guests said it was the best wedding food they ever had! It was perfect, just perfect.

Cannot say enough good things about the staff and service at the Perry. Every detail was taken care of -- and gorgeous. If you're looking for a budget venue, this may not be your best choice. But for us, the extra expense was 100% worth it. The view, the food, the decor, the flowers, the space itself ... everything was exactly what we wanted. And Tracy (wedding coordinator from the Perry) was absolutely incredible: took great care of us on the day-of. We'll always look back on our wedding fondly, mostly because we got to enjoy the day and not fuss over the details.

Choosing a wedding venue was one of the most difficult aspects of our wedding planning, but choosing the Perry Hotel was a dream come true. The staff at the Perry is... there are no words. Exceptional, above and beyond, knowledgeable, joyful... none of these quite capture it. Angie and Tracy are spectacular and working with them was a delight. I was constantly amazed at how well they kept track of our wedding details (better than I did!). Their insight was always spot-on, and their kindness and passion for what they do make them a dream team. The venue itself (we were married in the Rose Garden Veranda) - there's nothing like it. Breathtaking. We had a beautiful day and watching the sunset was an absolute highlight (it's fun to scroll through facebook, so many of our guest's profile pictures are in front of 'our' wedding sunset). Being able to have our guests stay at the Perry (which itself is an adorable/amazing hotel) and walk everywhere was absolutely perfect. My family rented the Perry house, which gave us more space and made for incredible getting-ready photos. We fell in love with Petoskey and with the Perry Hotel. I promise if you see the Rose Garden Veranda on a sunny day, you won't choose any other wedding venue. I also promise it will more than live up to your expectations of your wedding day! The Perry Hotel more than exceeded our expectations! Evan Chestnutt was our contact. Her professionalism and attentiveness made us feel thoroughly taken care of leading up to the wedding and the day of. The Perry Hotel went above and beyond to help us create the vision of our wedding. Our reception was held in their colorful and lush gardens with Lake Michigan as the backdrop. The incredible sunset view was a stunning highlight. Guests were thrilled with the accommodations and hospitality of the hotel staff. We can't wait to go back to visit for anniversaries to come!

Whenever I needed anything, they were very accommodating. The answer wasn't always yes, but it was always helping me out if it was a no. They truly helped me with everything, including ideas. They were helpful and willing to work with my budget.

Anyone who is looking for the perfect spot in Northern Michigan to get married - The Stafford's Perry Hotel is it. The Rose Garden Veranda has one of the best views of any venue - anywhere. The staff is incredibly friendly and made sure that our day went exactly as planned. We could not ask for a more perfect day!

Excellent to work with and respond quickly

My husband and I got married at the Perry two months ago, and we still comment daily on our incredible experience with Stafford's. The whole staff is so attentive and detail-oriented-- we didn't feel the need to hire a wedding planner because Stafford's wonderful day-of coordinators are with you every step of the way. We always felt informed, and encouraged to make our special day unique. We had multiple special requests and requirements, and the staff made all of it happen for us without blinking an eye! They are truly top-notch.

I tell all my friends to consider getting married at the Perry! And if not married, everyone should go for a visit at least!

I absolutely recommend Staffords Perry Hotel as a place to have your dream wedding! The staff made our wedding day worry free, run smoothly, and everything I had ever hoped for!

This place is the perfect wedding venue!! Ceremony + reception + accommodations all in one location = extremely happy guests. The Rose Garden Veranda was gorgeous for our late-fall wedding. The conservatory on the veranda is awesome because it is heated - our guests were very comfortable in 50s-ish weather. The view simply cannot be beat. The food was incredible - we chose filet mignon as one of our meal options and most of the guests chose this; even the pickiest steak-eaters were so impressed. I looked at my husbands filet (I am vegetarian) and it was the most perfect cook we both have ever seen. Pricing is extremely fair, especially for a northern Michigan wedding. There's no minimum guest count which was one of the main deciding factors when we chose a venue. We had 55 guests and it was absolutely perfect. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating - but it was the little touches that really made a difference, ie. our names in blocks at the reception desk, our wedding info in the elevators, even a lovely gift in our hotel room on our wedding night. The ladies in the sales department were just unbelievable. Angie did our tour at the Bay View Inn and we mentioned that we might stop and look at the Perry at some point, too - she did not hesitate to drive over and give us a tour there as well. She was so friendly and answered every question. We did our tasting with Debbie who was also very friendly and helped answer lots of emails from us, as we planned from 4 hours away. Audrey was an INCREDIBLE day-of coordinator. She is very direct and will stick up for what you want, but she is still so extremely friendly. She had everything on-point the day of the wedding and it was so nice as a bride to have someone else be in charge of this thing besides you! The staff at the Perry set up and take down decor and whatnot at the reception, which was such a relief not to have to worry about that. They did a fantastic job setting up; it was exactly as I had envisioned. Perfect.

If you are planning a wedding from far or near, we would whole heartedly reccomend this venue 100% to anyone. Angie & Evan were so professional, flexibile and fun throughout our entire wedding planning process. We did not have to worry about a single thing in the days leading up to the wedding or on our special day. These ladies along with the rest of the Perry Hotel staff treated us and our guests like family and showered us with that Nothern Michigan hospitality! If you are looking for delicious food, amazing service and a fabulous in town location (with priceless views), then you we can assure you this is the wedding venue for you! We are so appreciative for all that they did for us and couldnt have imagined having our wedding at any other venue.

We booked the Bay View Inn just 6 months before the wedding. I was not expecting much other than use of their garden and their banquet room. As we began the discussion with their wedding coordinators, I was so please to find out how much they provided with their pricing. They had wedding coordinators present for a details meeting, the rehearsal, and all of the wedding day keeping everyone on schedule. The garden was beautiful and well groomed and our experience using the Inn for our reception was phenomenal. The food was top notch and the service was just as great! I would not have changed a thing about my experience with Stafford's Bay View Inn.

Stafford's Perry made our wedding a dream come true. The staff is all so generous and hard working. They took great care in putting everything together, down to the small details. The Perry is such a timeless, classic place with a great view! It was such a perfect wedding day all around!

This is the best wedding venue in Northern Michigan! The views of the lake, the staff, the food--everything! It's all wonderful. Evan, Angie and Audrey are true professionals who make you feel so welcomed and comforted to know everything is going to go off without a hitch on your big day. We had a wonderful experience planning our wedding from downstate, as Evan answered every question, gave many suggestions, and always was timely in her responses. Our guests raved about their experience at the Perry, and so have we! This is the place to go if you're looking for a beautiful Northern Michigan wedding!

We had a perfect wedding! The Perry Hotel and Staff are mostly to thank for that. As most couples from down state do, we planned our wedding via emails with Evan the wedding coordinator at the Perry. She was absolutely wonderful. Not only was she always on top of her game, giving me every option possible in hopes of always finding answers to my endless questions, but she was a warm, friendly person that was so much fun to get to know as well. The Perry Hotel staff were ALL extremely warm and welcoming. That made for a day that made us feel like royalty. We will always remember their cheeriness and limitless help on our wedding day. I would absolutely recommend anyone to have their wedding at the Perry! We had an absolute blast, with zero worries, as Evan and the staff took control of making sure everyone was at the correct place at the right time, and our guests completely enjoyed themselves as well. Not to mention the best view of Lake Michigan in town!

Our Wedding was perfect and it was all due to the Perry and their wonderful staff. Angie and Debbie are great at with all the planning and Evan will coordinate and orchestrate your day perfectly. The Perry is beautiful inside and out. It has breathtaking views of the Bay and the grounds are perfect. The food was amazing, as good as any we have had while in Ann Arbor. Let's be honest, Wedding food is usually underwhelming at best. Ours was wonderful, and the staff was great from the servers to the bartenders. Ernest Hemingway loved the Perry, we loved the Perry and you will too!

We have only good things to say about our wedding day at the Perry Hotel. Our reception was on the Rose Garden Veranda and was catered, of course, by the Perry Hotel. The site was beautiful, and the view of Lake Michigan from atop the hill was breathtaking. Dinner tasted fantastic and the service was spectacular. We sat at a sweetheart table and were waited on hand and foot. Our glasses were never empty. The staff was friendly and professional, and did so much work quietly behind-the-scenes. It got chilly at night, and at one point we noticed all of a sudden that the tent walls were down and portable heaters had been turned on inside the tent. We hadn't even noticed them making this transition. We never had to ask for anything- they were on top of it. Our coordinator, Lauren Butwell, was a fantastic resource throughout our planning process. She was very knowledgeable about the property, the food and beverage service, and weddings in general. She offered great advice and was very detail-oriented. We planned our wedding in only 5 months. With such a short time frame to plan, we really needed to be able to count on Lauren and the hotel. Their organization and experience made planning so much less stressful. Each time we met with Lauren, we felt very reassured that they would handle everything properly on our wedding day. Lauren kept the evening flowing on our wedding day. She made sure we kept to our timeline and prompted us through all the major events of the evening. We did not have to worry about a single detail on the day of. After our reception, many of our guests joined us in the Hospitality Room at the hotel for a late night snack and then closed out the Noggin Room Pub. It was the night of our lives! To top it off, we stayed in a quaint honeymoon suite at the hotel (complimentary with a certain number of hotel room bookings), complete with a balcony overlooking our reception space and Lake Michigan. We are very happy we chose the Perry Hotel for our wedding.

We are so happy we choose The Perry for our outdoor Up North wedding. The staff was beyond helpful and responsive leading up to the event and flawless the day of. It was a beautiful site for a unique outdoor wedding. We have received SO many compliments from guests (many out of state who have not been to northern michigan) on how beautiful it was.
The hotel staff is also extremely friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend!!

Excellent place to have a wedding. Staff was very professional and attentive. We had a small outdoor wedding in the Veranda where both the ceremony and reception was held. The Perry Hotel is absolutely amazing. I planned my wedding in just 2 months, and they were attentive and super easy to work with, which helped immensely with such a short time frame, and with me being in Grand Rapids. I had so many compliments, maybe people said it was the best wedding food they had ever had- and it was super reasonable! I also had multiple compliments that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The thing I loved most was that with a small wedding, I had originally booked the Reycraft Room, which is still beautiful but small. A week before the wedding, they upgraded me to the Rose Room, which is simply breathtaking and was perfect. I couldn't have been happier with my experience and I recommend the Perry to anyone!

My husband and I were blown away by the professionalism and responsiveness of the staff at The Perry Hotel in Petoskey, Michigan. We live in Chicago, which would normally make it harder to coordinate for a destination wedding. However, our wedding coordinator at the Perry, Kristina, was so organized and responsive that we never were concerned with our distance from our wedding venue. On top of the responsiveness and organization, the entire staff was always nice and easy to work with. We cannot recommend this venue enough! Not only is the venue itself beautiful, as it overlooks the bay, but the staff is amazing!

The Perry was exceptional. They made sure we felt comfortable with all our decisions and were always there to answer questions. The food was also amazing and a view of the bay at night is always perfection!

The event was flawless! The food was delightful and the event coordinators were very attentive to detail and my wants and needs!

We picked The Perry because we wanted to have a beautiful outdoor northern Michigan wedding. Photos truly don't do it justice! On top of the outdoor space, the hotel itself is beautiful and classically vintage while still being well kept/clean. My get ready photos were made by the gorgeous king suite we were comped as the bride and groom! Angie W. and Xaina made the whole experience so incredibly easy and they handled everything with kindness and professionalism. The staff at the hotel during the wedding went above and beyond-EVERYTHING was taken care of and I didn't have to worry about a single detail. We had to switch last minute to have the reception indoors due to weather and the staff made it so easy and just as beautiful as my original vision. I could not have asked for a better wedding experience! I want to make special note of the incredible food-we are still getting compliments on the food at our wedding! I couldn't agree more-it was one of the best dinners I have ever had. Thank you to everyone at The Perry Hotel!

Stafford's ended up being a great choice for our winter wedding! From the start, we met with our wedding coordinator and she gave us the run down on our different options and we used that as a baseline to plan our day. Stafford's was very easy to coordinate and add our personal touches that we wanted to incorporate.

Stafford's allowed us to have an outdoor wedding, in Petoskey, in February. It worked so well, as the ceremony was inside a small enclosure that had heaters in it. We gave blankets as wedding gifts, set up a hot chocolate stand before the seating, and told everyone to dress warm in our invitations. Needless to say, no one was too cold. It was a success.

They allowed us to decorate ourselves, bring in separate deserts we wanted, and bring in various events that were out of the ordinary. It was nice to have the flexibility as many venues don't want you to add your personal touches, only what they allow.

Family and friends were all treated well. Easy booking of the hotel for everyone, which was sectioned off so everyone's rooms were next to each other.

I would recommend Staffords, as they allowed us to do what we wanted and have a great time. Nikki Gugin was our coordinator, she was awesome and I'd get her if you can.

Growing up in Petoskey I knew I wanted to come back to have my wedding there. Choosing Staffords Perry Hotel was an easy decision that I continue to be so happy with even 6 months after our big day. From the start Evan, the coordinator that we worked with from day one until our wedding day was amazing. The Perry provides a coordinator for you as part of the package. I asked endless questions via email since we weren't living in the area and she was so quick and thorough with her answers. The Perry does everything for you, including setting up decor! They even he,p guide you through a day of timeline that takes away so much stress! I would recommend the Perry to anyone looking for the perfect northern Michigan wedding.

We used the Stafford's Perry hotel for our wedding guests and for our rehearsal/welcome dinner. The hotel rooms were great, and the service was excellent. It's so nice to have a bulk of your guests staying at the same location. The welcome dinner was truly excellent. All of our guests raved about the view from the H.O. Rose dining room. We rented A/V equipment through the hotel for speeches, and A/V went off without a hitch. We also used the Reycraft room for our Sunday brunch, and the staff was just great. Food was continuously replenished, so it was fresh. Dirty dishes were efficiently cleared, and place seatings were re-set.
Debbie Norris was our event manager, and she was phenomenal - flexible, helpful, and customer-oriented. I would highly recommend the Stafford's Perry.

We absolutely loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Perry Hotel! The views are stunning, the food was great and Angie and the team at the Perry are amazing to work with. I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day, which I was so appreciative of. They arranged all the rentals leading up to our wedding day, and asked all the right questions to make sure we had all our bases covered. I will say that all the extras do add up (upgraded chairs, tent liner, upgraded linens etc.) but it was a beautiful setting and we were so happy with how everything turned out.

The Perry Inn was a beautiful site, overlooking the bay and perched in downtown Petoskey. The Rose Room was elegant and the wedding coordinator was extremely helpful. The only complaint was at brunch the next day, when our party was a little too rowdy for their formalities. The party also has to end by 11:30. Beautiful boutique hotel though!

The Staff was great. There seemed to be a lot of add ons. But you can't beat the view and the helpfulness of all the Wedding planning staff, they were amazing.

Great food and service!

Long review ahead: I would say the venue is stunning, we got married in the rose garden followed by cocktail hour and had our reception in the HO rose room. The food was wonderful and staff and bar tenders were great. Ellen is amazing on service kindest lady around. The chef and his team were on point, worth every penny, 11 out of 10 on that end for sure. We arrived on Thursday for my Saturday wedding and the hotel service staff made us feel so special, honestly couldn't rave more. The hotel is iconic. However I did not hire a wedding coordinator as I was told there would be one on site day of. I brought a uhaul of stuff since I did my own wedding planning and that morning at 8am my family unloaded it brought all of it in and went to work setting up. What fell short was the day of wedding coordinator Anna to assist with running things. She didn’t arrive until one which was fine however an hour or so before my wedding ceremony, while my aunt was finishing set up, she gave a random couple a tour of the venue when she was needed the most. It was a huge slap in the face to my family and wedding party, and honestly took the magic out of what should have been such a special time. The band showed up and she was no where to be found so they were unsure how to load in and set up, my aunt stepped in as (Anna was giving that couple a tour around that time). My florist was missing for a little and she never cared to call, I had to while getting my hair done even though she had all of our vendors information. None of my candles were lit before I walked down the aisle or in the cocktail hour area even though they were in huge lanterns that I brought in and set up, she assured my dad they would be lit, but that never happened (she could have lit them or told staff too instead of giving a tour an hour before my wedding). Also none of the candles were lit on the front porch where my welcome sign was She never came to get me to tell me to come down for the ceremony while I was taking pictures, even though she said she would be right back, one of my cousins had to. And when I got down stairs she mentioned I was late? I checked into the hotel Thursday but we got a mr and mrs suite on Saturday complements to the hotel. Since I had to move around my stuff my mom asked Anna what room number my wedding suite was, her response to my mom was “how should I know?” and my mom had to politely ask her to go down to the front desk and ask, as my mom was tied up with setting up and Anna was just standing there with her clip board. She never had the staff move the arch in place even though she confirmed we could use it, so we had to scratch it last minute. Unfortunately there is more but I only have so much room for a response. It’s a shame to focus on this part because it was a magical night, my photographer Meg was unreal she arrived on site at 3 and took control of the chaos, I mention this only because Anna’s energy about my wedding was completely different. Meg truly wanted to be there and help, and my wedding party and others said we felt Anna didn’t really care. We are planning on coming back to the hotel as it’s such a wonderful place to be, we had lots of family and friends stay there over our wedding weekend who raved about their stay. But to put over a year and half of personal planning, saving for a couple years as my fiancé and I paid for almost our whole wedding on our own, bought and brought in everything needed, and we were so proud to be there and host our family, I think brides should know 6/10 on the day of wedding side. There is no way I would have pulled this wedding off with out the support of my family. But we needed someone the last couple hours before for final touches, and to give the staff direction, which we were told was day of coordinator duties. Angie was good as we worked with her the most she helped with questions and time line scheduling but I didn’t need to talk to the team much over my wedding year of planning, but with our walk through meeting the day before my wedding she and Anna showed up 10 min late and the front desk had to call them. Which is no big deal but then when we were talking about a question on table seatings Angie said she had to run to another meeting, which was odd because we were getting married the next day, and said meeting at 10:30 am was fine, we were happy to have met earlier maybe the meetings should be a little longer than an hour. We did not feel like a priority at all by the wedding staff during our wedding weekend. But the hotel staff was phenomenal. I am only posting this because I feel like every bride to be should feel special and if other brides don’t have to feel the way I did post wedding because I shared feedback then it was worth the time to write.
