    Stunning!

Once my now-husband and I decided to get married in Northern California, we visited over a dozen different venues. We knew we wanted a unique, beautiful place where we could get creative, bring in our own vendors, and - most importantly - offer a weekend of events for our guests with room to stay overnight since many were traveling to celebrate with us. Spring Hill Estate was PERFECT for us, and served as the setting for the most magical weekend of our lives. Months later, we are still hearing from guests who remind us that the venue was stunning and unlike any other they’d seen before. Kim (the venue coordinator at the time) and Larry (the owner) were a pleasure to work with. The only bummer was that Kim left the team the week of our wedding, but Larry stepped in immediately to be our main point of contact and he made sure we were all set. Fun fact: Larry also owns Petaluma Creamery, among a number of other businesses, and we were fortunate to enjoy/share a variety of his delicious cheese, ice cream, and butter! We highly recommend that you consider Spring Hill Estate for your own special celebration!

    Amazing experience

My husband and I got married at Spring Hill Estate in August of 2018. Our experience with the venue was incredible. There were a few very large perks: -we were able to accommodate all bridesmaids, groomsmen and family on the property (saved our guests lots of money, and also created a very fun environment over the wedding weekend) -Kim was extremely accommodating with anything we needed. We were planning a wedding from the east coast and she was always available to send pictures, ideas of layouts, and site tours at the last minute. Her customer service was over and beyond and it made our experience so enjoyable! -We were able to cut down on rental costs because so much was included. We were able to save a few thousand dollars being able to cut out rentals of chairs and tables. The barn is so gorgeous aesthetically that there very little rentals were needed within. -We got married at the top of the house overlooking the hills, had our cocktail hour outside on the side of he barn, and reception in the large barn. The guests loved the fact that they didn’t need to drive to another venue for the reception nor wedding. It was extremely convenient for everyone, yet gave such beautiful and different scenery for each part of the night. I got so many compliments from our guests saying that they’ve never seen such a unique and beautiful venue. It had an amazing romantic/rustic vibe that really made our day one of a kind. I can’t thank Larry and Kim for such an amazing experience. We are so grateful and blessed we had our wedding at Spring Hill Estate! 10 out of 10 would recommend. :)

    A headache to work with

We got married here in Fall 2021 and the whole process was a huge headache. When we first toured the venue in the winter of 2019, we decided this was where we wanted to get married in the fall of 2020 (it ended up getting pushed out a year due to Covid). The owner, Larry, met us for the tour and was so nice/chatty/funny and was the best salesman. That was the only time we had a good interaction with him. After that, he was a nightmare to work with. After we did the tour and decided to book the venue, we communicated with someone from Larry's team. I can't remember her name since there were so many different people being "let go" (or my guess is maybe quitting) between the time we booked and actually had our wedding. She realized she sent us the 2019 prices for our 2020 wedding package but decided to honor the 2019 price anyways. We ended up signing a contract and although she verbally told me things would be included, I made sure that we added them all the the contract.

When we did our walk through in the spring of 2020, Larry (the owner) met us instead of the lady we had actually been working with. For the walkthrough, it was me, my (now) husband, my mom, my mother in law, our wedding coordinator and our catering guy. Larry was SO rude the entire time. When we started talking about our plans for our big day, he kept saying that certain things weren't included in our package. I luckily had a copy of the contract and showed him that he signed off on everything that was on there. He said that the girl that worked for him forged his signature and lost him a ton of money so he fired her. He kept making snarky comments the whole time I was doing the walkthrough with my team and kept talking about how much money he was going to lose on this or that. It was SOO embarrassing and I was almost in tears. We ended up leaving the venue so upset. I emailed someone at the office and confirmed that they would honor everything in the contract, but it made me super nervous that a lot of this stuff wouldn't be there the day of my wedding. I decided to only communicate via email from then on to make sure everything was in writing.

Then covid hit and we had to postpone the wedding. I thought "alright this is our way out of working with this venue". I asked them if they'd refund my money but they said no, they would only postpone. I figured if Larry felt he was losing out on so much money, that would have been the perfect opportunity to cut ties on both sides and he could have rebooked another couple for a much higher price. Since they said no refunds and my deposit was over $7k, we just moved forward. I made sure to only communicate with them in email so everything was in writing. I expressed my concern about Larry being so upset and unprofessional at my walkthrough and how I was so nervous that everything was going to fall apart the day of my wedding. I had communicated with at least 3 different people at his office since they had a lot of turnover. Finally I worked with Teresa, who was a breath of fresh air. She was so sweet and understanding. She made sure to answer all of my questions and assured me that everything would be perfect on my wedding day. We wanted to have one more walk through 3 months before our wedding and I planned to meet Teresa on site. Well what do ya know, Larry (the owner) pulls up on site for the final walkthrough and no Teresa. I hadn't seen or talked to him in one year but he was still the grumpy, rude guy and actually made me cry that day. He followed us around on the walkthrough and started saying he was losing out on so much money with our package that he is never dong weddings again. He said he was going to charge us $2k to use the bathrooms, that half the furniture that was supposed to be included was broken, and that we weren't allowed to use certain things like the golf carts (although those were specifically in our contract). I luckily printed the contract and every single email exchange and showed him proof of everything we were supposed to get. We pretty much argued the whole time and I left in tears. I called Teresa and she assured me everything would work out. I was so stressed for the next 3 months while planning the rest of the wedding though.

Fast forward to the wedding day, Teresa went above and beyond to make sure that everything in our contract was correct and on site. I only dealt with her that day and she was available for all of my questions. When the bus driver cancelled the day before, Teresa came to the rescue and drove the bus herself. She was seriously so amazing to work with and she is the sole reason why I didn't cry on my wedding day (well except out of happiness).

The venue is gorgeous, I'll give them that. But it's bare bones so you have to do a lot of coordinating between all of your vendors yourself, which is tough to do when you can't even tell them if you will have X amount of chairs or certain tables. If I had to do it again, I would not pay that much money for the stress it caused. I think now they aren't even including the mansion or some other things in their packages. I know Larry and his wife live in the mansion so they would probably be on site on your wedding day. Luckily, the mansion was included in our package so Larry and his wife were gone for the weekend and didn't bother us. But exactly at 12:00pm on the day we were checking out, they were already on site and my family members who had went to pick up something we forgot in the barn said Larry was rude to them and kept saying how he was never doing another wedding there again. But apparently, he is still hosting weddings so I figured I'd leave this review for anyone else who is thinking about this venue.

In a nutshell, a few words of advice if you book here:
-Do NOT deal with the owner (Larry) at all costs. He may come off nice in the tour while he's trying to sell you, but he is a nightmare to work with. He should not be dealing with the clients at all.
-If you can talk to only Teresa, she is amazing and is a joy to work with
-Make sure you have EVERYTHING in writing. Do not trust anything they say verbally because you may need to show proof of it later if Larry changes his mind.

Again, beautiful venue but I would never recommend them again based on my experience.
