DJ Gio and his entire team absolutely crushed it at our wedding. From start to finish, everything was incredible. The music was perfect all night. Gio played all of our must-play songs, read the room flawlessly, and kept the dance floor packed and vibing the entire night.
A huge shoutout as well to Walter on the drums and Doug on the Sax. They took the energy to another level and added such an awesome live element to the reception. We also upgraded the speakers, and it was absolutely worth it. The sound quality was crystal clear, perfectly balanced throughout the venue, and made the entire atmosphere feel even more high energy without ever being overpowering.
So many of our guests told us afterward how much fun they had and how amazing the music was. Everyone on the team was professional, talented, and brought such great energy the entire night. We truly could not recommend Gio and his team more highly for any wedding or event. -

I cannot say enough about how AMAZING Split Second Sound for our wedding on April 25, 2026! We had DeAngelo Dawson as our DJ and Zack Mason as our saxophonist, and together they created the most incredible energy and atmosphere for us and our guests all night long. Our reception was truly the best celebration and party we could have ever imagined, and it would not have been the same without the SSS team. Guests were raving all evening about the music during every part of the wedding, and we’re still hearing compliments weeks later. We had guests of all ages attending, and the mix of genres and songs kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night.
Music was one of the most important parts of wedding planning for me, so naturally I was nervous about “handing over the aux” for such a big day. I created inspiration playlists for different parts of the wedding, and DeAngelo absolutely nailed the vibe I was hoping for from start to finish. Not only did he seamlessly incorporate our must-play songs, but the songs he added on his own fit perfectly with the energy we wanted throughout the night. He completely exceeded every expectation we had. I was having so much fun during the reception that I even broke out the worm on the dance floor in my wedding gown — which says everything you need to know about how good the party was!
Adding Zack on saxophone was one of the BEST decisions we made. We wanted to surprise guests by bringing him out mid-reception, and Zack and DeAngelo timed everything perfectly. The second Zack joined us on the dance floor, the energy went to another level and the dance floor stayed packed for the rest of the evening. Zack was so interactive with guests while playing and brought such a fun, lively atmosphere that everyone loved. People are still talking about how incredible the live saxophone performance was!
If you are looking for a wedding DJ in the Charlotte area, look no further. Split Second Sound absolutely crushed it, and I would recommend them over and over again to any couple planning their wedding! -

We truly can’t say enough amazing things about our Michael Glass, our DJ from Split Second Sound! He absolutely made our wedding dreams come true! From the very beginning, he took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and brought our vision to life in the most perfect and high energy way. It felt like one big party with all of our favorite people, and that’s exactly what we were hoping for….So many of our guests have told us it was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to, and we truly owe so much of that to him!
If you’re looking for someone who will go above and beyond, customize everything to your vibe, and keep the party going allllll night, you have to go with Michael! Hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!!!! -

I cannot rave enough about DJ Gio. Fantastic energy and incredibly kind - checking in to make sure my husband and I were doing good. Followed the guidelines for the music we set, but made sure he was reading the crowd. He did a great job mashing up songs for both younger and older age groups. We had a full dance floor up until the end of the night! If you’re thinking of working with him and split second sounds, DO IT! -

Michael Glass ROCKS!
Michael Glass is amazing!! We got married in October 2025 at The Van Landingham Estate in Charlotte and our wedding was absolutely perfect! Michael did a great job of directing the crowd and keeping the jams going all night long. We had such a great time on the dance floor and I credited that all to Michael. Highly recommend!! -

If you're looking for the best DJ, stop looking, you've found the one. We got in touch with DJ Smylee through our wedding venue, and from our first conversation with her we knew we were in good hands. She was attentive and communicative every step of the way. She called us up a few times to make sure we liked the playlists she was putting together, or the order of events was correct, and the set list was on point or each walkout. She even pronounced everyone's names right all night. Our reception never emptied, and didn't end until the venue kicked us out because she had the place rocking the whole night. She made our wedding fun and memorable, and we feel like she couldn't have done a better job. We appreciated every moment we had with her as our DJ, and I can't recommend her enough. -

For our wedding there was no question who we were booking for our DJ, it was a must to book Split Second Sound! We were very impressed with the whole process Vinny has set up. He was very informative about their business and what they’re about and what they offer! The process was extremely easy and seamless from booking to planning! We went through all of their DJs and picked Matt Piver for our wedding! He was absolutely amazing! We met with him twice before the wedding and was always just a text away if we needed him for anything! Our wedding was supposed to be outside but had to be moved inside and Matt was able to pivot without issue! Our venue also was struck by lightning the night prior and kept losing power but that did not interfere with the party at the reception! Matt was super prepared and had backup battery power and the music continued even without power to our venue! Split Second is amazing in always having a back up plan and knowing them I imagine their backup has a backup! We will always recommend Split Second Sound, especially Matt P, to anyone who needs a DJ to make their party one to remember! -

We live in and got married in Greenville, SC, and the small mileage fee for them to travel from Charlotte was well worth it. They are extremely professional, and from our first video call with the company to our final breakdown of details with DJ Smylee the week before the wedding, we knew we were in good hands.
DJ Smylee handled our ceremony, dinner, and reception music and did a great job introducing the wedding party and the speakers giving toasts. Split Second Sound also provided our officiant with a mic, which was very helpful. We got the lights with the package, which made for a really nice atmosphere.
Our music selections were handled perfectly, and DJ Smylee created the perfect playlists moving everyone from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. The dance party playlist was incredible. We and our guests had a blast! Thank y’all for all your assistance making our wedding a truly epic celebration!

DJ Charlie was so great to work with! He understood our vision for the wedding vibes and gave us the best mood music for the entire day! I was a very type A bride who had very specific song choices and he went along with my choices so easily. He also mixed the way I love to dance to (club-style) and was an incredible hype man. I definitely recommend asking to have DJ Charlie for your event!

We loved the variety in DJs/packages and ability to add services on a la carte. You can tell how much they value professionalism & quality, which was important to us.
DJ Smylee was INCREDIBLE! She was easy to work with, kind & read the room extremely well. We had a tricky request to somehow incorporate karaoke at the end of our reception and she executed perfectly! Our wedding wouldn't have been the success that it was without her -- we had guests singing her praises all night (and the following week). Could not recommend a better DJ for your wedding!! -

We wanted a dance club vibe at our wedding and that is exactly what we got! Everyone was on the dance floor all night long, especially us. Anthony was spectacular at reading the energy of the room and playing bangers all night long. He was really chill and fun to talk to. We had DJ Vinny provide the music for our entire wedding day and we were beyond pleased at his professionalism, energy and flexibility! DJ Vinny played the songs we asked for without any hesitation and even re-played my favorite song which I missed due to taking photos! My wedding was partially outdoors and indoors and when the party was manly outside due to the beautiful weather, Vinny adapted quickly and brought his speakers outside so my guests could enjoy both! I heard nothing but great things from my guests and I enjoyed every minute of my reception thanks to Vinny and the team at Split Second Sound! We also had a saxophonist provide music for our cocktail hour and were beyond pleased with his service as well! I would 1000% recommend Vinny and his team for any wedding or event! -

Their team went above and beyond everything we could’ve imagined. Our MC was Henry, and he is a true entertainer! And our DJ, Kaylon even had our Venue’s staff on the dance floor lol. I saw some of my family who never dance get up and there was not a dull moment that night. We also used their coordinator services and Charity was a lifesaver. She was on top of everything and made sure us and our families were taken care of. Unfortunately, the DJ we originally booked had some health issues and was unable to DJ our wedding, Split Second gave us a higher tiered DJ and threw in the ceremony package. As a company they went above and beyond. Derek was the DJ for our wedding and HE was AMAZING!!! He came out prior to our wedding to see the venue which made us much more comfortable. Our experience was Split Second Sound was great. We had an appointment in their office to go over packages/pricing. Based on the package you choose, you have a handful of DJs to choose from. We had picked a dj and later found out a few months before the wedding, he was no longer with the company. I became super stressed but Vinny, the owner, made it all better. He ended up giving us a dj from the top level package (we originally selected the middle level package) at no extra cost. We ended up having dj Charlie and he was wonderful. He kept the party going all night, listened to what we did/didn't want, was interactive with our guests, and all around wonderful. He facetimed with us once or twice to go over specifics, was organized, and very opened to our wants. If you're looking for a dj for your wedding, I definitely recommend them! -

Booking Split Second Sound with Mike Glass was one of the greatest decisions I made when planning my wedding. No exaggeration, the dance floor was my top priority along with my top anxiety of the day. I wanted a fun dance floor with everyone on it, and it was a worry for me because not all of my guests party like I do. But good God Mike Glass knew how to get people on the dance floor! First, communication with Split Second Sound is superb- they respond within a couple of hours- so their account managers are amazing and on top of it! Second, we had two meetings with Mike- and he was flexible with timing and mode of communication (Zoom, Facetime, phone call). We explained significant songs, our vision for the reception, and the level of party we wanted. We told him we want a college rave and he was totally about it, hyping my husband and I up. After our first meeting, my husband was like "holy crap, I am so excited for our DJ he sounds fun." Which he was. Third, the day of, Mike was on time and professional. We didn't book him for the ceremony (we had live music) but because it was raining our officiant needed a mic, and Mike gladly set that up on the spot free of charge. He really went above and beyond for us. Fourth, his MCing skills are a perfect mix of enough and not too much. I've been to weddings where the DJ makes it all about himself, or the DJ hides behind his computer and never comes out of his booth. Mike Glass... is truly the nicest and outgoing person ever. Any sort of announcement- like grand entrance, speeches, dances- were announced to the point but with a little of his personality added- making people laugh and smile. He also went to tables during dinner and made sweet conversation and joked with everyone. He came to the head table and was like "parties, the bride and the groom was a party on the dance floor, so what songs will get you guys hyped up?!" He also thinks on the fly- during my dance with my dad, I forgot to tell Mike how long I wanted it to be, so once I thought it was getting too long I gave him a slight thumbs up and he immediately faded the music out and announced the dance was over. Fifth, THE DANCE FLOOR! Oh my gosh, it was everything I could have ever wanted and more! He did a battle of the sexes which involved splitting the floor with males and females on each side. There were three rounds of "battling it out," like Pitch Perfect. He even pulled my dad over to judge haha, which was unexpected but hilarious. Everyone was on the dance floor, I even had to have him make an announcement that we had a photobooth because no one was using it- everyone was on the floor! I didn't even get enough photobooth photos as I wanted to because I was also on the floor the whole night. The final song, we wanted a sing along song and did Brightside. He announced for everyone to get in a circle around us, then at the chorus he told everyone to close in and jump with us. It was truly the most memorable part of the night, and we couldn't have had it happen without Mike Glass. All this to say, if you want a professional DJ that can bring the f***ing party, you better request Mike Glass immediately! -

THIS IS A MUST DO FOR YOUR WEDDING! My wife and I hired Split Second Sound (and DJ Vinny) for our recent wedding. He was charge of keeping the dance floor alive, and I must say, they absolutely nailed it! The atmosphere created by Vinny and his crew (live saxophone & drums) was nothing short of magical, making the entire evening an unforgettable experience.
From the moment the first song played, it was evident that Vinny knew exactly how to read the crowd and create a playlist that catered to everyone's tastes. Their seamless transitions between tracks and impeccable mixing skills ensured that there was never a dull moment on the dance floor. The energy in the room was electric, and it was impossible not to get the guests out on the dance floor! Vinny flawlessly bridged the gap between classic hits and contemporary bangers, creating a dynamic and diverse musical journey that appealed to guests of all ages. The way they managed to keep the momentum going all night long was remarkable, and the dance floor remained packed until the very end.
Vinny paid close attention to our preferences and incorporated their requested songs from our guests. He got around and met with our guests to feel like he was “part of the family” and our special night, he definitely was!
In addition to the amazing music, Split Second Sound’s setup was top-notch. The sound quality was crystal clear (during the ceremony and reception), and the lighting effects added a mesmerizing ambiance to the dance floor. They truly understand the importance of creating a visually captivating environment that enhances the music experience.
I would highly recommend Split Second Sound to anyone in need of an exceptional DJ for their wedding or any other special occasion. Their ability to create an electric atmosphere and their dedication to delivering a personalized and unforgettable performance are unparalleled. Vinny and the live saxophone and percussionist made the wedding an absolute blast, and I'm still receiving compliments about the incredible music days later. From the moment my husband and I booked with Split Second Sound, they were incredible to work with. We had an initial phone meeting to discuss important information like our date, our music style, and what we wanted from our DJ. Based on the information, Split Second partnered us with Chanel - "DJ Smylee" - for our day. When we started our meetings with Chanel closer to our wedding day, we knew from the first moment we spoke to her that she was going to make our day absolutely perfect! She had our music style down PERFECTLY and had both sides of the family (a very multi-racial and multi-ethnic wedding) dancing all night! She was engaging, funny, and incredibly warm throughout our meetings, but also on our actual wedding day.
The company as a whole was tremendously professional, communicative, helpful in so many ways, and their ability to curate the most amazing entertainment experience, let alone the most perfect wedding day, was unmatched by any other company we initially spoke to! Dj derek = best dj ever!
Apologies in advance for the long review, but I feel it all needs to be said. Huge shoutout to DJ Derek! He was amazing to say the least! Not only did he run the wedding reception completely by himself, but it did it with confidence and enthusiasm. He effortlessly managed to get us back on track with our timeline and even offered to help with bustling my dress! (He could tell we were struggling lol!) Derek kept our special day running smoothly, and we got so many compliments on how great of a DJ he is. Derek even filmed our private last dance so we could have it for memories. He went above and beyond all expectations! From day one, Derek was very professional and always willing to help in any way possible. He really gets to know his clients and tries to make the music selections fit them. The amount of time and attention he gives his clients is truly remarkable. From responding to emails/texts quickly, to reviewing timelines multiple times, he is the perfect DJ for weddings. I 100% recommended DJ Derek and would hire him again in a heartbeat! I got a bundle through Split Second that included DJ, Day of Coordinator, and Photobooth. All were wonderful for a great price. They were of great value!
Trevon Banks was my DJ. He was friendly, funny, flexible, and knows his music. He spent time two weeks before the wedding going over my reception timeline, made great suggestions, and brought an overall fun upbeat energy to my wedding. So many people complemented me on the DJ choice. We were dancing all night! Even cooler is that he is well versed in Asian cultures including being fluent in Chinese. He did a great job of MCing my Vietnamese tea ceremony during the reception, dealing with my drunk uncles who wanted to karaoke, and simply making sure everyone had fun. I even had a mini dance off with him at the end of the night!
DzRai Williams was my day of coordinator. She was responsive but also emotionally supportive during planning and day of when I got stressed. She did a great job helping me with decor and making sure things with my other vendors ran as smoothly as possible. She also helped clean and did the final walkthrough. I got my full damage deposit back with no issues from my reception venue.
The photobooth was fun and interactive and part of a partnership with Shutterbooth. A month before someone contacted me to design the photobooth photo frame. Emails with questions promptly responded to, The booth was fully functional, came with digital props, GIF creators, and was straightforward enough that you did not need an attendant. Trevon set up and broke down the booth.
Overall this made the top of the list for favorite vendors. My wedding day dreams came true and I could not have done it without them! -

Jonah from Split Second Sound came highly recommended from our incredible wedding planner who said that he was truly the best in the business. Jonah was always willing to meet in person or via Zoom to discuss our wedding vision. We had to work out a lot of specifics such as three different performances and a separate live band, on top of our specific vision for music. Jonah was so gracious and patient in figuring everything out with us, meeting with us several times in person to collaborate. He even created a mix for our special performance. We felt like he took the time to get to know us and understand how we wanted the wedding to feel, and he truly delivered on making it happen seamlessly. Jonah is extremely personable and ACTUALLY mixes on the day of which made the reception dance time feel so lively the entire time as he was able to gauge the energy level of the crowd and keep the energy going! We hired DJ Josh from Split Second Sound to be our wedding DJ, and we were not disappointed. He was such a great part of our wedding day, but also the whole wedding planning process. As soon as we hired him, he reached out and set up a time to get to know me and my fiancé. He was so personable and eager to know what made us unique as a couple and what we wanted for our wedding day. Not only did he go above and beyond with getting to know us really well, he also helped tremendously with the timeline of the day, specifically with the ceremony and reception. He was knowledgeable and had tons of suggestions to help us make decisions for the day. He was flexible when we changed our mind or took a hot minute to make a decision. On the day of, he was prepared and ready to go. He played our favorite songs and kept the dance floor full throughout the night. We are so glad we hired Josh to be our DJ, and we will 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ! -

Josh was amazing. The last thing I wanted to worry about at my wedding was the music and making sure people were having a good time. Not only did Josh play a banging playlist, we was out getting the crowd going and raising the energy. I could not recommend him enough! Worth every penny and more.
Josh was also very respectful and courteous towards all guests and was very flexible with meeting schedules to make sure we had everything perfect. He even met with us at 6pm on a Saturday.
When you’re getting married you want everything to be absolutely perfect and Josh definitely 100% did his part and more. If you want everything to go smooth and as perfect as possible, he’s your guy. -

Dj josh is the goat
DJ Josh was a HITTTT! Not only was our dance floor poppin' the WHOLE time (no exaggeration), but we walked away with a friend in Josh! He met with us via FaceTime multiple times leading up to our big day to make sure he had every detail right, but also to just get to know us as a couple so he could make our day reflect who we are, and he did just that. He is so kind and SO fun! All of the silly ideas we had, he not only helped us, but he WENT FOR IT with us!! He also noticed people wouldn't stop taking photos with my husband and I at the photobooth, so made the dance floor chant our names to get us out there! He was truly the best DJ, and worth every penny!! We love you, Josh!!! -

DJ MIKE HALL! Hands down the best vendor of our 200+ person wedding to work with! He had easily 100+ people on the dance floor all night! Our wedding crowd wanted to extend an extra hour to dance our DJ was so amazing! Our biggest compliment even a month after the wedding is how AMAZING Dj Mike Hall was! My family has already gotten his card to try and book him for our future parties! He was so professional and well experienced. This is a company who made our lives so easy and Dj Mike was just so fantastic for our perfect day, even with a bridezilla like myself! Future brides- listen to DJ Mike he knows exactly what he’s doing! Also stop looking now for a dj! This company and this guy is worth every penny and more! Hands down the best wedding DJ I’ve ever experienced! Michael Glass was the talk of our reception! Everyone loved the energy he brought. I can’t even count the number of times that people commented on him. He was so engaging, hosted a dance battle, coordinated the flow of all reception events and brings such a joy to the entire experience. I cannot recommend him enough. Many of my bridesmaids were trying to think of events where they could hire him! (even though their already married lol)
Split Second Sound was a preferred vendor for my venue and I'm so glad I was given their information.

I cannot express enough how much we loved working with Jonah and the SSS team. Jonah took the time to get to know us as a couple and went above and beyond to make our wedding reception exactly what we wanted. Our wedding guests loved him, despite him rejecting some of their song requests that were on our "do not play" list (SSS takes those very seriously!). My only "complaint" is that I didn't have enough time to talk to all my guests because we were on the dance floor from beginning to end of the reception. Thank you for making out special day so memorable. I had a blast. -

Outside of my husband this was the best decision I made for my wedding!!! My DJ Michael Glass was incredible - all night and days after our guests were still commenting on how engaging he was and how much fun the whole thing was. He was beyond detailed and ensured everything ran smoothly. I also utilized their concierge services and Steph was just as incredible. I highly recommend both and split second sound in general. Even before working with my two team members every person I had an interaction with was spectacular - quick responses, professional and courteous. I couldn’t ask for a better DJ and I’d never even think of using anyone else for future events! -

I am SO glad we hired Split Second Sound as our DJ for our wedding! At first, I chose another DJ who wasn't available, but the staff suggested someone who went way above and beyond - Lauren! From the beginning, he was willing to do whatever I wanted (even as far as offering a solution to mic my cello for a song I wanted to play for the outdoor ceremony). Then when my husband and I got COVID a week before our original wedding date (12/27/2020), they were gracious and worked with us to reschedule for the new date (9/18/2021). Lauren did a fantastic job reading the crowd, playing music that got everyone on the dance floor and was AMAZING at transitioning the songs. I ended up foregoing my sparkler exit because I wanted to keep dancing LOL We had a blast! Worth every penny!! -

We first discovered Split Second Sound at another friends wedding and it was hands down the best DJ we have ever experienced so when we got engaged, we obviously went directly for SSS. We listened to all the DJs tracks and landed on Michael Glass. He was incredible from the start to the last song of the night. We had two interviews with him where he gathered the details of our day and our opinions and interests in music for the whole day. We also had a hype man who did an excellent job of keeping the night going an encouraging the guests to the dance floor. We cannot recommend Split Second Sound and DJ Michael Glass enough! We would do it all over again a million more times!! Love you guys! -

Mike G from Split Second Sound was the PERFECT choice for our wedding day.
We had rain delays at an outdoor venue and had to change our timeline on the fly - Mike G HANDLED IT! He entertained our guests and brought out the party whenever he saw both myself and the groom ready to dance. He intuitively knew when to pump us up and when we were trying to socialize with our guests. Even having a dance battle!!!!!
I was initially worried about my guests during all of the delays and people not having a good time, but all of those fears were wiped away the minute we talked to our guests. They loved his attitude, humor and music selection. He walked between the tables at dinner to interact with everyone and see if there were any song requests. -

We were married last weekend and our DJ, Chanel, was exceptional. Contracting with Split Second Sound was so easy and the office staff was responsive when I had questions about the planning process. We had some very unorthodox requests for our reception but our DJ was more than happy to oblige and met our requests perfectly. The whole event exceeded our expectations! Our DJ made sure things went smoothly, that all of our requests were accommodated, and that the dancing was lively! She was professional, courteous, and really listened to what we wanted. It was clear she wanted to make sure we got exactly what we were looking for and she definitely delivered. Great job, Chanel, and thank you so much!! I used split second sound for my wedding. I used the entertainer package and got Todd Havens as my DJ. From cocktail hour to the reception was amazing. He was very personable and attentive to make sure things went how we wanted things to go. Then the music, we danced ALL night. Everyone had an amazing time and our DJ did a great job! My brother used this company for his wedding 8-9 years ago and I used them yesterday. If you need a DJ for an event, I suggest you contact these guys! Will try and add pictures when I get them(wedding just happened)
