The perfect wedding catering

Debbie and her team did an amazing job with our wedding! Debbie herself was so kind and enthusiastic about our wedding, and the whole team delivered excellent food and service. Our guests have been bringing it up every time they talk to us about the wedding. In the months leading up, Debbie was communicative and flexible and constantly made us feel like we were in good hands. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.

Ultimate Professionalism

Spice Catering was referred by my vendor of choice so I knew they would not disappoint, but they kicked it out of the park! Reginal Mueller who was my contact was responsive, accessible, coordinating with the other vendors. The staff on the day felt like old friends for the personable and yet professional making my event a wonderful success!

The Best Cocktail Hour

Debbie worked went above and beyond to plan and provide a wedding cocktail hour that was delicious, plentiful, and considerate of allergies and dietary preferences of all of our guests. We had a beautiful harvest table and passed hors d'oeuvres that guests enjoyed and raved about after our event. The Spice staff was attentive and professional.
We are so happy that Spice Catering was part of our wedding day!

Couldn’t imagine working with another vendor!

Spice catering group went above and beyond. They were a pleasure to work with leading up to the event and exceeded expectations on the day of. They did everything they could to make sure we felt no stress about the kitchen. They even put my bouquet in water and packaged it up for me to take home. They allowed us to serve alongside them as a way to greet our guests and they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming the whole time! All staff were just so kind and helpful we can’t recommend them enough!

Spice Catering made our dream wedding a reality

We’re so happy we chose Billy and his team at Spice for our wedding. Beyond incredible food and drinks (the strawberry gin and tonic was everyone’s favorites) with an extremely flexible menu selection process, Spice Catering’s attention to detail was second to none. They helped us find our vision for our wedding and made sure every aspect was perfect. They made sure our wedding day was about us and we didn’t have to stress about a single thing. On top of that, his staff made sure to make us feel like special and went along with every slight curveball we through the night. We truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better and we want to thank Billy and his team at Spice for making our dream wedding come true. You, hands down, cannot hire somebody better for your wedding in the Hudson Valley.

Fabulous Wedding 7/5/25

Spice was responsive, professional and easy to work with. My husband and I primarily worked with Deb, who was flexible and offered us a multitude of options that worked for us. She was excellent.

As for the wedding, the food was yummy, and exactly what we expected. My nonna was seated far away from the kitchen and didn’t get an appetizer from a passed tray, so she told an employee, and the server came to her every time there was a new tray. The servers were kind and professional, helping us with cake and dessert as well. The bar was well stocked, with batch cocktails already made and there was never a line longer than 2 or 3 people. Overall, I highly recommend Spice Catering. They are a great value and are doing an excellent job in the catering industry!

Awesome people and awesome catering!

Spice has always exceeded expectations with their food choices, quality, and service. Their staff and managers such as Debbie make the process so easy and efficient. At my cousins wedding debbie was always readily available with answers and information, practical and realistic, and met all expectations and requests. The chef did an amazing job as the food was spectacular, and the staff were very friendly during service. They helped setup as well as break down with no issues. Always love to use Spice and would definitely recommend anyone to use them!

Wedding, 11/8/24

Where do I begin? From my first phone call with Dan I knew he was the caterer for us! We wanted station dinner options for our wedding on 11/8/24 and Dan and his team made it happen. We really wanted to incorporate Puerto Rican food as an option, and we explained what we wanted to Dan (pernil, arroz con gandules & plantains) and although he and his chef have not made it, when we went to our tasting we were blown away by how good it was (along with the other food options we went with!) Dan made sure every detail was thought of and a little before our wedding, Regina joined his team and she made our experience even more enjoyable! Her attention to detail and kindness matched Dan perfectly, they are truly a power duo. They both, along with their wonderful team ensured our wedding day went smoothly and there was plenty of delicious food. From our P.R. Station to the AMAZING donut flambé dessert and other tasty treats, we got so many compliments! Thank you Dan, Regina & Spice Catering!

My Tornado Wedding

Spice catering went above and beyond. They responded to my request for a food vendor immediately. Debbie delivered everything necessary for me so there was no guess work… which is half the battle. I appreciated that. She made time to discuss my options and if changes were necessary it was easy peasy. Always with a smile and never a bother. The staff was prompt and unbelievable hands on in every aspect of the wedding. Cannot praise them enough. And finally the food was fantastic… there were no leftovers and people wanted to take some home. Unfortunately it all went! That is a sign of delicious food! I would highly recommend Spice Catering to all. Best wishes to the next couple.

Great Customer Service, Amazing Food

So much to say about Spice!! Since Day 1, Dan was so attentive & responsive. They were on top of it! The only catering vendor who really cared about us and you could really felt that.

I didnt have a wedding planner, so shout out to Dan and Spice team for helping my vision come to life! They were such rockstars the day of - and of course food was so yummy!

Amazing wedding catering

We used Spice Catering for our 5.20.23 wedding at The Hops Company and couldn’t have been happier! Dan and his crew were amazing to work with. We got married in the pouring rain and his catering team was hustling all day while it was pouring to set up a beautiful buffet. The food was delicious, we had so many compliments! If you are thinking about going with Spice Catering you will not be disappointed.

Flexible, Flavorful and Professional

Spice was amazing! Dan was a pleasure to work with during the planning phase- helpful, accommodating, attentive and flexible. And then the day off- the staff was so incredible: friendly, professional, attentive to guests (and to my husband and I) and attentive to details. And then the food- delicious! Everyone said it was some of the best wedding food they’d had. I opted for a less formal, more flavor-forward menu consisting of stations, and it was a hit. The beef was so delicious and so popular that we ran out- which was the only negative I can think of for the evening. Beyond amazing! Worth every penny!

Dan and his team were absolutely amazing! Our wedding was postponed not once but twice and took 4 years to get married, he was always on point with reaching out to me and always responded quickly to calls and e-mails! Everyone raved about the food as well and he kept the time line I gave him right on track throughout the whole night! 10/10!

Exceptional service!!

I would recommend Spice Catering to anyone who is looking for a fantastic food vender for their special event. We booked Spice Catering for our October 2023 and couldn’t be happier, Debbie, the event coordinator worked closely with my husband and I on every request we had for our special day. The attention to detail and the need to accommodate our vision made our wedding planning a breeze. I am very big on detail and organization. Debbie made our day stress free and organized, where I did not have to worry about ANYTHING! She communicated closely with my venue and other vendors as well.

The service was great but overall the food was PHENOMENAL. All of my guests were completely satisfied and I received so many compliments. The staff was friendly, professional and organized. I give this vendor FIVE STARS.

Great Experience!

We hired Spice Catering for our outdoor backyard wedding, and it was a fantastic choice. Debbie helped us every step of the way, from selecting meal options to ordering the proper flatware, ensuring that we had everything we could have dreamed of and more. We hired Spice Catering for our food, bartending, and dessert. We even opted for the flambéed donuts for dessert, which was not only a cool display but also a tasty treat that everyone loved. They worked well with us and set up their entire station in our garage, presenting everything beautifully for our plated courses. We would definitely recommend them to anyone getting married or planning an event!

Very pleased!

Went with Spice Catering for our daughter's wedding which was held at our home outside. Debbie was so helpful through the entire process right up to the day. She was the liason with the rental company and very knowlegable on what we needed to rent. I would have been lost without her! The wedding day went perfectly, kudos to the crew who did a great job. We were able to relax and enjoy the wedding without a worry. The food was absolutely delicious! We are very pleased with Spice and would highly recommend. I'd also like to mention great communication - Debbie returned all emails in a prompt manner and there were many!

Delicious wedding catering!

Spice Catering catered my wedding and I cannot recommend them enough! Debbie was a lifesaver during the wedding planning. We hosted the wedding at my in-laws house, and she helped us figure out the layout of the backyard, all the rentals we needed, and the general flow of the event. She was always available by phone or email and was extremely responsive. The food was also delicious. We got multiple comments from guests that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Debbie and the chef were extremely flexible during the menu planning and were able to customize dishes to our liking. We had a lot of vegetarians and they made an amazing quinoa and black bean stuffed pepper dish that everyone, even the meat eaters, loved!

Moreover, the entire Spice Catering staff was extremely attentive during the event. They kept asking my husband and I if we needed more food or drinks, and prepared appetizer plates for us during the pictures after the ceremony to make sure we had something to eat. I would highly recommend Spice Catering for a wedding or any other event, and wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Outstanding!

Thank you to Spice Catering Group and Debbie Salce, Events Manager for a perfect bridal shower for my daughter on Friday evening June 9, 23. Debbie did everything possible to make this an event an elegant event!! The room table settings and napkins perfect, delicious delicious food and plenty of available beverages to taste!

Amazing experience with Dan &Spice Catering

Dan and the spice catering team were great throughout the planning and night of experience for my October 2022 wedding. They have packages to start from but were able to customize every piece of the process. Their food was delicious and the stations option is a bit more elegant than a standard buffet but still casual to allow for more movement.

Can't say enough good things about Spice Catering!

Spice Catering was amazing in every aspect of their service from planning to execution. We worked with Debbie mostly on the planning end and I don't even know where to begin - she didn't miss a beat, she is so detail oriented, which is critical in this line of work. She was also patient as we worked through what we wanted, and allowed us to customize and build out a food experience that achieved the vision we had always dreamed of on our special day. Because of her we didn't have to worry about a thing on the day of our wedding and could just relax and enjoy ourselves. On the execution end, Spice continued to deliver - not only was the food incredible (our guests are still talking about it), but the service far exceeded our expectations. Everyone who worked the day of our wedding was incredible, attentive, and the execution was seamless. Can't recommend Spice Catering enough!

Personalized and Incomparable

I would recommend Spice Catering to anyone. Dan was extremely supportive, kind, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process. He genuinely shares in your excitement for the day and puts forth an incredible amount of effort in executing on all of your wishes. During our first meeting with Spice, we sat down and were coached through the planning process, given space to express our vision, and knew right away that this was the vendor for us. (The complementary to-go blueberry tiramisu was just the cherry on top, which didn't even make it home!) Since that first meeting, Dan was everpresent and would even take trips out to our venue to meet with us and the other vendors, ensuring a comprehensive, informed, and dynamic wrap-around service for the day. He helped us curate our own unique menu, incorporating our favorite foods into the passed hors d'oeuvres - even incorporating wooden serving boards that matched our centerpieces! The food was of an incredibly high caliber, the service throughout the ceremony was outstanding, and the added touches of presentation truly set Spice apart. We had high expectations knowing the quality Spice brings, and even still those expectations were exceeded. Trust me: this is the caterer you want.

Delicious and friendly catering with vegan options

Great catering with even better vegan options. From the quality of the food, timing, temperature of the dishes and friendly staff, there is absolutely nothing to complain about and we happily recommend Spice catering!
We live in Japan and we planned our wedding in Connecticut remotely with Tim from Spice Catering. Very responsive communication and flexible in incorporating our own ideas.

So Delicious!

Working with Dan and his team at Spice Catering was the best! From the tasting to our big day, they were communicative, flexible, honest, and most importantly everything was delicious!!! Such an incredible team!

We loved working with Spice Catering! From our first call with Tim, he was so informative and honest about pricing, ways we could save, knowledgeable about what we needed and didn’t need, it was all seamless. We did a backyard wedding and had to bring in a tent, chairs, tables, catering equipment, etc. and they worked with me and the rental company directly so I didn’t have to be the middle man. Great food and service! One of the team members that day made sure I had drinks at all time, a plate of food and got me every gluten free dessert that had so I could try everything. Everything We Wanted And More

We used Spice Catering for wedding and we absolutely hit the jackpot! Dan was super responsive and creative when we were coming up with the menu, they were incredibly flexible when we needed to reschedule our wedding due to COVID, and the food was incredible! We went through Spice for party rentals and coordinator recommendations as well, and being able to have one go-to person for everything was an amazing consolidation and stress-reliever. Cannot recommend Spice Catering more highly!

Incredible service

Dan, Tim and Spice Catering delivered the absolute best catering services we could have ever dreamed of for our wedding. They were so professional leading up to the big day and their team came into the venue immediately ready for set up and knew exactly what they were doing. The food experience was truly incredible. I so wish we lived in state so we could use them more for catering services. They often say people don't remember the food at weddings... well, our guests are still talking about it and the food was one of the big highlights of the night. The team did an excellent job curating a beautiful fall menu for us. We will always remember our experience.

Delicious food!

Tim McNamara was a pleasure to work with, very professional and flexible with my requests. All for a great price too! The food for the wedding was a beautiful variety of delicious foods and Spice even cared for my vegan and vegetarian guests in the buffet set-up. I received so many complements on the food from my guests. The staff at the wedding was wonderful and caring as well and they made sure as the bride, that I got enough food. They brought me a plate in between pictures of one of everything of the appetizers. It was amazing, so glad I chose Spice! Thank you all!

phenomenal!

We used Spice Catering to cater our backyard wedding on June 26, 2021 and they did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the service was beyond exceptional. Kandice and her team were so friendly and helpful and they all just made our day that much more special. Spice Caterting Made Our Wedding Perfect

Dan and his group (Spice Catering) are the best at what they do, and I cannot thank them enough for being instrumental in creating the perfect wedding.

-From the initial point of contact Dan was professional, responsive, and reassuring. This was very much needed after having to cancel our venue from Covid, and then planning the wedding site at my parent’s house instead.

-Dan helped customize our entire menu to our liking. Food quality was outstanding, and our guests could not stop raving about it.

-The Spice Catering staff at the wedding were exceptional, friendly, and made sure no guest went home hungry.

-Dan additionally helped us (through Abbey Tent Rental, great company!) figure out all our tent, tables, chairs, etc. needs. We would have been completely clueless without his guidance here.

Our wedding truly felt and looked like a venue that day so thanks to Dan and the Spice Catering Group for helping make that happen.

Spice Saved The Day

This is a year overdue, however, it is well deserved praise! My daughter had planned her wedding for June 21, 2020 (originally not in my backyard)! We obviously found ourselves with lots of changes within a short period of time. I had heard and read wonderful things about Spice, Dan and his staff. All were true. Dan was responsive, flexible and a pleasure to work with. His staff Lisa and Marilyn were simply amazing and a joy to have in our home. Chef Tim's skills in the kitchen were outstanding as well. The perfect food for EVERY guest!!

First off, if you have guests with allergies or dietary restrictions, you NEED to hire Dan and his team! We had several guests attending who had Celiac disease & so we were very stressed about making sure that we had at least one excellent gluten-free option (because no one really wants to eat a plain chicken breast, even if they tell you they're OK with it). Dan and his team went ABOVE and BEYOND for us and our guests! Two of the three main entrees were gluten free, and they were incredible - a Tuscan chicken and a flank steak! It meant a lot that our guests with dietary restrictions were able to eat the same meals as every other guest, and not only that, but they were so careful that we had zero cross contamination issues (which often happens at restaurants) and no one got sick. That was such a HUGE weight off of our shoulders.

In addition, from the beginning Dan had the most wonderful ideas! We gave him the basic information about what we were planning, and he dreamt up an incredible menu and was more than willing to work within our budget. My now-husband and father-in-law handled the catering with Dan, and when they came back from the tasting, they could not stop raving about how wonderful Dan was and how incredible the food was (and they even brought me some leftovers to try, which was such a nice touch from Dan!). On the day of our wedding, our guests commented so many times on how delicious everything was, and the make your own brownie bar was the perfect dessert option!

If you want great food at your wedding, a collaborative and flexible mindset, and zero worries about dietary restrictions or allergies, hire Dan and his team at Spice! We could not have asked for anything better!

Absolutely THE best!!!

Like so many couples our plans ended up changing because of the pandemic. We had decided to work with Dan and his team prior to Covid. We are SO grateful that we had!! Of course, menus changed, venue changed, but he was one of the constants that helped us get to the finish line. His entire team is full of nothing but professionals. They had never worked at our venue before and this did not slow them down at all! The food was amazing. That is the first thing so many of our guests keep telling us! In our tasting, my husband mentioned how he would have been happier with a bit more sauce on his beef, and wedding day there was extra!! That little detail shows just how much he and the team are dedicated to making your event incredible for you. In addition to food, they coordinated all the rentals, we needed everything! We had a beautiful, perfect wedding during a pandemic and so much of that is thanks to Dan and his team at Spice. If we ever have an event we need catering, we will go straight to Spice!

Amazing & Unique Food! Dan is the BEST

We went with Spice Catering because of Dan, we had to make massive changes to our big wedding and only had about a month to really plan everything. From the minute Dan got on the phone he was so understanding and made it clear that he wanted to help make our day special. We crafted a meal for the day that fit us perfectly! We went with an Oktoberfest theme for food so we did Pierogi's, Pretzels, Bratwurst, Chicken Schnitzel and ended with a ton of doughnuts which were such a hit. Everything was Delicious! What was even better was that staff kept checking in on me to make sure I was able to eat food. I got so many compliments on the food, but Spice Catering really deserves an award. It was so unique and perfectly executed.

Mother of the Bride

What a difference having the right caterer and food can make! Dan and his team of chefs and waitstaff are very professional in every way. Our New England style clam bake menu for our daughters wedding was all prepped and cooked on site and everyone raved about the food. From Lobsters, steaks cooked to order, steamers and New England clam chowder had guests going up for second and third plates of food. Their waitstaff was outstanding and catered to our every need with a personal touch. I HIGHLY recommend Spice Catering for your next catered event!

Great caterer for all your needs

Dan from Spice Catering was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was extremely responsive, met with us on multiple occasions, was always available to talk through ideas or thoughts we had, was honest with his feedback, answered SO many questions, and was open to our ideas so that we could make our wedding unique and personalized. Besides providing delicious food for our cocktail hour and dinner, all rentals were managed through Spice so we didn't have to worry about those and we were able to use their bar services while providing the alcohol. The staff the day of the wedding were great - attentive, always had a smile, worked well together and always made sure we (bride/groom) were taken care of as well as the guests. The chefs know how to make delicious food with great spices/flavors in a wide variety of cuisines and the food presentation is beautiful. The next time we need to cater something, we will def. be hiring Spice again.

Best Party Ever!!!

We booked Spice Catering and used their venue, Sage on High in Derby, CT. The event was a party/reception to celebrate our son’s marriage, which had occurred months earlier, out of state.
Can’t say enough about the venue itself, the outstanding food, and the non-stop service provided that day by Susan and her crew. Our guests are still raving about the chowder and the gourmet buffet. They even had a separate buffet area for the many young children in attendance....a truly nice touch which I hadn’t even asked for. Spice Catering was a dream to work with, and I would trust them with any special event, be it large or small....

From the very start of the planning process Spice was amazing to work with. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and just a genuine person. Dan and the Spice Catering crew were just wonderful to work with from start to finish. My husband and I got married on my parent's family farm... in a field... with all services (power, shelter, KITCHEN etc.) having to be brought in. Through his experience doing events like that, Dan confident knowing we could make that happen, despite us never having a 200 person party on the property like that before. Jonathan the head chef has a special love for what he does, which was so evident when we got to meet with him during our tasting. Dan was attentive and knowledgable throughout, and so creative in his ideas for meal choices and food options for cocktail hour and our wedding meal. We loved our food and are so thankful to Spice Catering for making a meal that was not just a traditional, typical, "wedding food" meal. Food was great and service was, too! Thanks, Dan!

Spice catered our summer wedding, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. Dan was very professional and creative, and we loved the unique menu items he created for our special day. Our reception was a rustic backyard gathering, and we chose to have stations rather than passed plates; everyone raved about both the creative cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres and the delicious options for dinner. On top of the amazing food, the service was top notch. Everyone was very attentive to our guests, who were pleased and had nothing but great reviews throughout the evening! My husband and I had a personal caterer who checked in on us, making sure we had food and something to drink during the busy cocktail hour- which we were so thankful for! We are so happy that we went with Spice Catering for our October wedding! The food was delicious and the way they presented it was beautiful. Dan and his entire staff made sure we were well taken care of and happy throughout our wedding. He is a true professional and you can see how passionate he is when it comes to his business. I don't thing we could have trusted anyone else for the most important day of our lives. They set aside food for us during cocktail hour so we could have a chance to eat during our carriage ride and picture taking. It was definitely a lifesaver! The caprese pipettes were so cute and tasty that I'm still hearing about them from my family and friends. We even had our own champagne waiting for us and then later on a bottle of wine at our table. The wine was Josh wine which is my husband's name. It’s those little details that helped make our day special. Thank you Dan!

Spice catered my outdoor wedding for 125 people in September 2015. They were excellent. They were so easy to work with even though I am sure I was not changing my mind 1 million times. The staff at the event went above and beyond and everyone the next day gave rave reviews of the food and the service I would not hesitate to use spice catering again and if you are considering them you won't be disappointed.

Dan Biagioni is the only caterer that I contacted that picked up the phone to discuss the catering for our wedding. We did not have a set idea of what we wanted nor a fixed budget. He provided advice that resulted in us have a buffet with one chicken dish, one salmon dish and one vegetarian dish ("adult mac 'n' cheese"). This covered all our bases and turned out to be a delicious combination that accommodated all our guests tastes. He put on a beautiful cocktail hour and provided the alcohol. We chose to stick to wine and beer. We provided our own flatware and plates for the main meal and he provided all the glasses for the tables. The price was reasonable and his team went above and beyond for taking care of all our 150 guests. I highly recommend his catering service to anyone.

From day one, Dan and his crew were nothing but professional and courteous. Anything I wanted he made it happen. Dan is high energy and happy to Brian storm with you to make your day uniquely yours. He was such a pleasure to work with. His staff took such great care of us on our wedding day. From making sure we ate (Someone made us plates and came to get us when it was ready) to making sure we stayed hydrated.
Carissa the wedding Cordinator is awesome too. She helped me towards the end. She tied up all the loose ends. Set my wedding timeline and was my go to person for all my freak out moments. She also set up my tables, chairs, linnens, centerpieces and other things for the day.

It is bittersweet that I am at the end of my journey. They have been such a integral part of my life for the last year. they truly felt like and treated us like family!

Dan was amazingly responsive and helpful from the very beginning of the process. Even letting me know about a bridal show Spice was putting on/attending so that I could get a mini preview of his food early on. Every email & phone call I made to Dan was immediately answered, even pointing out things that I hadn't even thought of! Even though I did not get my rentals through Spice, Dan helped me along in the rentals process, pointing things out to me such as the proper length of a linen for my tables, and suggesting a non traditional buffet table set up which ended up looking amazing. Dan even invited my Mom & Grandmother to a tasting he was already hosting, prior to the wedding. Ifelt completely confident in Spice before the wedding & they did not disappoint! The food was amazing, the presentation was beautiful and Dan even made a special appearance on my big day. Guests are still raving about the food! I also worked with Carisa & Shannon for my "day of" wedding planning needs. I was hesitant in hiring a "day of" coordinator, however it is one of the best decisions I made. Shannon was there at the rehearsal the night before to go over everything for the day of; and arrived on the day of with her assistant before any of the vendors and stayed until the last vendor left. She was there the entire day to keep me informed when I had questions and was the person I could direct others to, so that I could enjoy the day. She even ran out in the middle of the reception to purchase more alcohol! I highly recommend Dan and his team at Spice for your catering, and event planning, needs.

A first class caterer provided amazing food and excellent service! We are still receiving raves on how wonderful the food was! No complaints at all, I would highly recommend Spice Catering as the best wedding caterer I've ever experienced!

There aren't enough words to describe how amazing Spice Catering was. Dan was absolutely wonderful. When we first met with him to talk, I knew right away we were going to have a great experience. He was extremely professional, he was easy to talk to, down to earth, and most important of all, he really cared about our needs and wants. Choosing Spice was one of the best decisions we made. Any detail I wanted changed, whether big or small, he was so helpful and willing to change. He constantly checked in to make sure there wasn't anything we needed or that we didn't have any questions/concerns. Our wedding day was perfect, Dan's staff members were wonderful as well! Everyone was pleasant, personable, and had smiles on their faces. The bar was stocked well and the line was never too long. The food from cocktail hour, to dinner, was unbelievable! (YES, we were able to actually sit and enjoy the food!) Our guests are still talking today, almost 3 months later, how amazing the food was. We cant thank Dan & his staff enough for everything! We hope there comes an event in the future we can work with them again! We highly recommend Spice Catering for your wedding needs!

Absolutely fantastic!!!! (Yes, four exclamation mark fantastic) The entire staff was phenomenal - especially Dan! Our wedding was held at the Branford House in Groton and they honestly made our day so stress free. Highly recommend!

Dan Biagioni - (owner) from Spice catering was incredibly easy to work with on my Corporate event. I had called Dan with a basic small idea for my event. Within a few hours of speaking to Mr. Biagioni I had not only everything and more to fit my budget, but he turned my small basic idea into a FANTASTIC HUGE evening for my clients and I. What ever the price point, I would recommend Dan and Spice Catering for your next event.

I hired Spice Catering Group to cater my son's outdoor birthday party at a local park. Although it was a casual event, I didn't want my husband to get stuck on the grill like he always does. In addition, with a 3 year old and 9 month old baby at the time, I did not have much time to buy and prepare food for that many people. Dan was great to work with. He proposed a delicious BBQ menu for my party, which included grilled chicken, pasta salad, potato salad, and much more. My father is still talking about how good the chicken was! Not only did Dan bring the food, but he also grilled for us! Everything was very reasonably priced, not to mention delicious, for the quantity and quality of food that we received. I can't wait to use Spice Catering again for another event!

We had a fantastic time working with Dan and the crew at Spice Catering! They were incredibly helpful and flexible in making our wedding day fantastic! Especially since my husband is very particular about beer choices for the open bar, but Dan was able to help us with supplying liquor for our event. The food was spectacular and all of our guests raved about it. Dan was even able to incorporate food from the farm where we had our ceremony and reception, which grows its own mushrooms and other vegetables. The only thing that was missed during our event (which we didn't know about until after) was that the bartenders didn't bring the kegs from the cocktail hour to the reception area, so we ended up with an entire keg of beer left after the event that certainly would have been consumed during the dinner reception had it been available! But we were able to use it the next weekend and have friends over our house, so no harm no foul. We are so pleased with our choice in using Spice Catering for our event and highly recommend Dan and his staff!

Dan and Spice Catering were AWESOME! Spice catered my cocktail style wedding at a New Haven art gallery a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't have imagined the event going any more smoothly! Dan was a great partner, always available to answer any of my questions and had amazing suggestions. He truly listened to what I wanted and executed every tiny detail we spoke about. His team was extremely professional and they took care of everything from event set up, service, bar, and break down. I literally just showed up and enjoyed the night! I didn't have to worry about anything! I would highly recommend Spice and would work with Dan again in a heartbeat for any future events!

The bottom line is that Spice Catering was amazing to us. The communication was excellent, the food was delicious, and the owner and his staff went above and beyond. Here is a more detailed review:
We met with Dan, the owner, back in the winter and told him what we were hoping to spend and what we hoped to taste on the day of our wedding. We were having a big tent wedding on family property and were worried, but Dan immediately put us at ease. Not only did he offer suggestions, but he also set us up with an inexpensive wedding planner. We knew Spice was it before the meeting with Dan was over. We had a few conversations with him afterwards, and he met us on-site.
We selected a menu that catered to both our tastes and a couple of our Gluten-Free guests. The appetizers were delicious and unique. Dan let us know that we could ask for items we didn't see on the menu too, but we didn't need to as there were dozens of options on the menu offered. The cheese table looked beautiful. Dinner was exceptional. The Spice staff made sure that we were taken care of first, but they treated the guests with the same kindness. I should mention that Spice assisted the wedding planner in setting up all of the tables with our centerpieces and dishes. That was certainly a huge help in making our vision come to fruition.
As it was a tent wedding, weather was a factor. Once it started to rain, the sides to the tent needed to go up to protect guests. The groomsmen went to do this, but Dan, the owner of the company, helped. This was not in his job description or responsibility, he did this simply because he cared about our having an enjoyable night.
As I moved around to visit tables, many guests, including one who owns a reputable restaurant in New Haven, CT, asked who the caterer was and commented on the delicious food.
Spice is a special company who takes the time to make sure every element, including things beyond its responsibilities, is perfect.

The Spice Catering Group catered our wedding at The New England Carousel Museum on April 18th, 2015. From start to finish Dan was nothing but professional, flexible and accommodating. He worked with us to create a menu custom designed to our needs flawlessly, making 90% of the menu gluten free. The food was DELICIOUS, people were raving about it all night and the service was impeccable. Do not think twice- book this vendor immediately! Thank you so much for making our wedding better than we could have imagined!!!

Working with Dan and his team at Spice could not have been a better experience. Not only did Spice provide the catering and bar services, but coordinated with the baker and rental company so we did not have to communicate with additional vendors, which was a blessing, especially since we were planning my wedding from out of state. We felt completely confident throughout the entire process that Spice would not only meet, but exceed our expectations because of the frequent communication that Dan provided.

We mentioned to Dan that we were trying to figure out a way to incorporate a Caribbean theme into the wedding because we were living in the Virgin Islands - this seemed almost impossible to us because we were getting married in a barn and palm trees and the whole rustic thing don't really mesh well. Dan came up with a brilliant idea to infuse a Caribbean flare into the food and drink. From making our favorite island iced teas (lemongrass and sorrel) to the main courses and sides (Caribbean jerk pork, mahi mahi with mango salsa, coconut rice, johnny cakes, just to name a few items) the food was fantastic and got rave reviews from the guests. We so appreciated Dan's care, concern, and creativity.

Dan met with us the day before the wedding at the venue to ensure that everything would go smoothly the following day - he clearly has terrific communication with his team because they executed everything flawlessly on the wedding day, including moving 100 chairs from outside on the patio to inside the barn following the ceremony. All of the tables, chairs, linens, and the bar were just as we hoped. We would 100% recommend Spice catering for a wedding or any other event and hope to work with them again in the future!

Having delicious food was incredibly important to us and Spice did not disappoint! We found Dan as well as all of the Spice staff to be very flexible, approachable, and easy to work with. We have received a ton of compliments on our food, particularly our cocktail hour selections. All of the staff were professional throughout our wedding and everything looked and tasted wonderfully. The staff helped with the setup and breakdown and looked after my husband and I- making sure we had everything we needed- all night. We were very pleased and happy that we chose Spice!

Dan gave us the most amazing outdoor wedding. He was so helpful in the whole process from where to set up the tent to the actual menu. The food was remarkable, and the service was outstanding. I didn't have to think about anything but getting married and enjoying each and every moment. Dan is very caring and it shows in his presentation and in those who work with him. I highly recommend this catering venue.

Spice is the best! We requested a beautiful lobster bake for 18 people, and it was perfect. Spice took care of all the dirty work, cleaning and preparing the lobster, allowing us to enjoy the deliciousness that followed! No matter how big or small your vision, Spice will make it happen. I would highly recommend their catering services time and time again.

My now husband and I were struggling to find a caterer that would customize a menu for us, but also work within our budget. After getting quotes for thousands of dollars over what we could spend, it was recommended that we contact Spice. Dan and his whole team were amazing! We couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Highly recommend them!!

Dan was the BEST in terms of explaining what Spice Catering offered and how they could help us with our wedding. Dan was very responsive during the preparation phase and always got back to my emails or calls on time. The menu options are impressive, and they also offer more "normal" meals for the less adventurous couples like us! At our wedding, the Spice team was SUPER helpful, SUPER friendly, and created a wonderful dining experience for our wedding guests. While Spice does come in a bit more expensive than some other local caterers, it's the staff and presentation alongside the tasty cuisine that made it more than worth it. I highly recommend!!!!!

Disappointed

We hired this caterer based on a list we were given by the venue we rented for our wedding reception. Tim was attentive and saw our vision for this event. We paid extra for his supervision and to ensure smooth execution for the reception. The cocktail reception went well although the tables were not arranged as agreed upon during our meetings. We overlooked that as it was a minor oversight. The bar ran outta olives and limes ten minutes into the cocktail hour…someone ran out and bought more, thankfully. We paid the florist extra to have flowers on the trays of the wait staff. We were handed the entire container of flowers after the wedding…so none were placed on the trays. The waitstaff was sweating…clearly they were short waitstaff. Most disappointing was the layout of the dinner stations. We discussed interactive dinner stations…it was like a cheesy buffet - the only true station was the salad station. Lastly we had 90 people attend and the dessert station was one tiny tray that had maybe enough for 50 people. When my daughter asked that more be added, no was the response from the staff. So we paid of $200+ per head for food & beverage…being foodies…and input from other foodies at the event…Spice received a 7/10 rank. The cocktail hour looked pretty and was the best part of the catering…but that was only half of the event. Sorry not sorry but they asked for a review. Not horrible, just meh.

While we are disappointed to hear that we missed the mark months later, we are very appreciative of the constructive feedback you've provided as it will catapult us in our efforts to consistently better our services for future clients.

In regard to your concerns about the table setups during both the cocktail hour and the dinner reception we agree that was a challenge.

Since the entire inside of the venue was reserved for guest seating and a full casino set up, cocktail hour had to remain outside indefinitely. Your hors d'oeuvre stations were in fact in the correct spaces but the tables and chairs for cocktail hour were indeed moved by many guests in an effort to all sit together in larger groups. This is not unusual as family and guests often want to socialize together.

In regard to the dinner stations, we did have some space limitations at the venue. Due to the spatial constraints caused by large casino game tables, we were forced to set up the entire multi-station dinner offering in the bar area which resulted in a much more congested feel to the dinner. While we preferred to serve these stations ourselves due to covid guidelines and for the health and safety of our staff and guests, we gladly made an exception to have all three stations be self-serve at the client’s request. This service concept was also implemented for dessert and the entire dessert quantity provided for the wedding was consumed by guests without any portion control. It was also observed that many guests were busy enjoying themselves with casino games during the time dessert was offered that resulted in them missing the station.

Lastly, one of the most important things we here at Spice want for our clients is a good value of our food and services. It should be noted that the $200+ for food and beverage that you noted also accounts for over $8K of staff and rental expenses and not just for food and beverage.
