In all honesty, they were a STEAL for everything that we got and everything they did. They were the least expensive caterer we found, including restaurants and bbq places who didn’t even offer full service catering, just the food and delivery. With Special Occasions Catering, they responded right away throughout the entire planning process which was a huge deal to me. Anytime I wanted to change or add something, they would do it right then and there through e-mail and send me a new invoice right away. We had two tastings where we got to choose what we wanted to taste and went over everything we needed and what foods we wanted and what services we would be getting, and we didn’t have to go anywhere else after just the first tasting. The tastings were so much fun and you got so much food!!!! We even got to take our leftovers home. In our catering package we got, 2 entrees, 2 sides, a vegetable, and rolls and butter were included. The full service that was included was, someone coming to our venue to set up, decorate, clean up the guest tables, throw out trash, clean up and package our leftovers. We also got beautiful plastic plates, utensils and napkins. We also paid a little extra for our caterer to cut and serve and our cake, which helped TREMENDOUSLY!! I didn’t know how we were going to go about that part until they told us it was something we could include. The caterer came to the venue, set up, served some cake, cleaned up, and left. It was flawless and easy and I never had to worry about one thing. The food was incredible! It was so hot and fresh and we got sooooo many compliments including, “I could eat that food everyday.” When you are a bride, you want to be proud of what was served to your guests and I was. I was very worried about how they would decorate and what it would look like and if it would match up to my standards. I had planned everything myself to make my wedding look and feel like my dream and I was nervous about someone taking over the buffet table decorations. But, when I walked out and saw the GORGEOUS display the caterer was creating that matched perfectly and even ADDED to my beautiful set up, I cried tears of relief and joy. I am so thankful for Special Occasions Catering and the amazing, inexpensive services that they provide.
There is no end to what they offer. Literally. -

Nicole Sent on 07/11/2018So much more than I could have ever asked for and beyond affordable! I didn’t expect them to decorate my buffet table but they did and it was PERFECT! The food was amazing, try the yankee pot roast! And they gave me my Mac and cheese bar. They are located a little out of our area, but so worth the trip and the minimal fee they charge for gas way out there for me! Highly recommended!

Special Ocassions worked with us from start to finish to make sure everything was just perfect! They stayed the entire event and made sure everything went as planned! The food was amazing and they even included some of our decorations!! -

They personally brought them to my house so we could decorate the reception space on Friday instead of waiting for them to come on Saturday. Everyone that I worked with was extremely friendly and helpful. The free tasting was fun and the food at the reception was really good. They provided cups, plates, napkins, and silverware. The prices are very resonable. I would highly recommend this company for any occasion that you need catered. -

We had so many compliments about our food and the setup was great. The staff was friendly and things went really well. I would recommend them to anybody that asks. Please give them a shot after your tasting, you will not be disappointed! -

I challenge anyone to find a cheaper caterer for the amount of food you get + a chocolate fountain, centerpieces, table clothes, flatware, and shirt lighting "all included." My only issue was the individuals who came out the day prior to our wedding and day of. They were extremely rude to my mother and lazy the day of the ceremony. I was fortunate to have had hired friends to work the bar because they did a better job serving my guests that the caterer. But again, cannot beat the price and the food is great, just disappointed in the level of professionalism. -

Stephanie Sent on 07/19/2012We went through Special Occcasions because we had heard nothing but great things about them... and ALL of that was true!! Everyone took the time to get to know me and my bridal party and recommend things that we would like. They even called and gave us more options that they had just gotten in. The only downfall I have, and it is NOT reflecting the food, is the lady they sent out to us. We had 3 people catering our wedding, and the lady was very rude. I had a couple guests tell me that she looked like she did not want to be there, then at the end of the night when we tipped them (Which we did NOT have to do) she looked at my dad like really? Thats all you are giving us? Now, it was a pretty good amount for only 3 of them, and she had the nerve to take it with an attitude. It was just a TIP, something we did NOT have to do! Other than that, everything was amazing! -
User2698808 Sent on 07/25/2016Catering was good amount and quality for the price. It wasnt the best food ive ever had but good wedding food! We had buffet style but even so the 2 wait staff refilled our drinks and took the plates from people which was totally unexpected and awesome!! One did show up in a white tank top "wife beater" which i thought was unprofessional but they were both nice. They said they ran into traffic because they were there about 40 minutes late my fiance had to call because the wedding was going to start. Overll good experience i would do it the same over. Not the best but good quality and amount!

Kelley Sent on 07/13/2013I'll start with the good. The price and the food were very good. We got a lot for our money. They also included our centerpieces. But the are several reasons I would not recommend them. First, they arrived on Friday to begin setting up which was good, but they were very rude to me(the bride) everything I asked they had a snide comment for. I was a stressed bride who was being yelled at by our caterer. A friend had to step in and deal with the situation. That I can get over, but the biggest reason I would not recommend them is what their bartender did. We hired 2 bartenders through them and we supplied the alcohol. We had some non guests come towards the end of the night. Their bartender sold a bottle of bourbon to one of these not guests. Luckily a true guest saw this all happen and my husband confronted the bartender. She did give us the money but I highly doubt that if someone would not have told us she would have kept the money. Also another small detail that rubbed me the wrong way is that they set a tip jar out without asking us. Not a big deal but I still think they should have asked the bride or groom.
