Debbie from Sovereign Spirit is the spirit is the best. She officiated our 8/16/25 wedding in West Dover, VT. We live in DC and met her several times via zoom and once in person leading up to the big day. Her process is clear, fun and often felt like a date night as my now-hubby and I reminisced over how we met when deciding what to include in our ceremony. She was kind, easy to work with, skilled and professional. Her communication with us was excellent. She felt like a second planner of sorts in helping us keep the timeline and setting the structure and flow of the ceremony. We could not have imagined our day without her! -

Debbie just officiated my wife and I's wedding and we cannot recommend her enough. She is fantastic to work with and really took the time to get to know my wife and me before drafting the ceremony script. The ceremony was by far the most complemented part of our wedding day and she definitely deserves all the other kind reviews left here. 10 out of 10 would recommend. -

amazing justice of the peace!
Debra was absolutely amazing! always answer my emails in such a timely manner and communicated clearly! she was such a hands on justice of the peace, she showed up early to help make sure everything was set and to help make our day go as smoothly as possible! she always reminded me not to apologize and it was our day! she truely was such amazing person! if you’re looking for someone that’s hands on and such an amazing person i highly recommend going with Debra! -

Working with Debbie was a treat. We were searching for an officiant who would take the time to get to know us and our story, and she did exactly that. Debbie was very organized and laid out the timeline of our meetings, sent a questionnaire, and then closer to the wedding she sent a draft of the ceremony. We felt that Debbie captured our relationship beautifully and many of our guests shed tears during the ceremony. What I appreciated most was Debbie's calming presence especially when we were nervous up there. We highly recommend working with Debbie! -

Debbie created a beautiful ceremony that embodied our love story. She told our story to our families and friends with love and devotion and brought our emotions to life with her words. Debbie took the time to sit with us to get to know us and we were in awed when she presented us with the ceremony, I was overcome with happy tears! . She is very thoughtful and kind, she is such a positive light! She incorporated our love for the moon into our ceremony, as we married under the light of the Hunter's Full Moon. She blessed the wedding ceremony space before we got there, and blessed us by chanting a moon mantra. Our family and guests were enchanted by her words, the moon, the warm fall breeze, and the autumn leaves falling from the trees...
Debbie has a special place in our lives as the witness of our pure love and devotion. -

Debbie accommodated a last minute request for us- we were so fortunate that she had the time in her schedule. She truly went above and beyond and did more than we could’ve possibly imagined and hoped for. From the ceremony script, to rehearsal, to the day of coordination. She truly took the time to get to know us as a couple and made it so personable and special. She gave us tips and pointers for little factors and details we wouldn’t have even thought of and communicated every step along the way from the minute we met till the days leading up to our event. Her office space was warm and inviting, just as much as her presence. It felt like we’ve known her forever. We are so fortunate to be able to have had the pleasure and honor of utilizing her services as our officiant. There wasn’t a dry-eye in the room and one of the biggest feedbacks we’ve received was about how special, intimate, and beautiful our ceremony was. We will always recommend Sovereign Spirit and appreciated the passion she puts into her work. -

Rev. Debbie is one of a kind! 5 stars is not nearly enough. I believe it’s important to feel connected to your officiant - someone who is joining your love by marriage. From the moment we met Debbie, we knew she was the right fit. Honestly, our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without her. She was kind, attentive, and listened to our needs. My husband and I asked for a hand tying ceremony, where she exceeded our expectations of the event. Debbie is down to earth, empowered, respectful, and simply a beautiful person inside and out. If you chose her for your wedding, she’ll ensure you feel you are right where you belong. In addition to her amazing personality, she blessed our space with a sage cleanse, which we personally loved. Debbie is also a reiki practitioner, if that interests you. I would highly suggest her to friends and family for any service that she offers. Look no further - Debbie is the one! -

My husband and I had a small celebration this year following our elopement last year. Debbie was incredible every step of the way. Despite the 2,000 mile distance (we’re both from New England but live across the country), she kept us updated with her edits to the ceremony and had us involved in every step of the process. She made the ceremony so personalized—my husband and I met at an escape room, so Debbie made the ceremony puzzle-themed in a sweet but not too corny way. She suggested we add a wine pouring ceremony, and we are so glad we did, as it felt very genuine to us and our union. We cannot recommend Debbie enough! -

She truly listens, and creates a ceremony to fit you as a couple so that they are words that can resonate with you for a lifetime. Highly recommend!
We hired Debbie to perform our wedding ceremony and I have to say everything went off without a hitch! It was the most perfect day and she helped to get it that way! She was great to work with! She was very professional and easy to talk to. She asked all the right questions even things I wouldn’t have even thought of! And she really captured who we are and put it in her speech. I would highly recommend Debbie. She gave out all the right vibes for the day and even saged the property! Thanks again Debbie for making our wedding day so unforgettable! -
