Southern Grace Photography did our engagement photos and our wedding photos. I couldn't have found a better, more affordable photographer that takes beautiful, natural light photos! He never missed a beat on our wedding day, I was running a little behind that day but he was ALWAYS there and ready to adjust the timeline and make sure we still got all the photos we wanted. I will cherish these photos forever. He truly captured the mood of the day and made sure to photograph all of our friends and family that attended! Southern Grace Photography did an amazing job, was very professional and prompt! I can't wait to use them in future sessions as our family grows! -

Southern Grace was nothing short of incredible. I had Gwen as my photographer for my wedding day and all I can say is WOW. She captured every single moment and everything we asked for. She was thorough with our phone consultation prior to the big day and I really felt like she genuinely cared about me. She was so kind, thoughtful, and patient. Our wedding was only about 30 of our closest family, and she made sure she got pictures of each and every one of them. My dog was our dog of honor and she made sure she was part of the special day in each and every way as well. The pictures came out even better than I could have ever imagined and they captured so many moments of pure happiness. Southern Grace did a wonderful job editing and getting our photos and getting them back to us during the busiest season. They are also extremely reasonably priced for everything they include with their packages. Communication was exceptional and deposits are clearly communicated. If you aren’t sure what package to book, they are very thoughtful in getting to know you and what your vision is before advising on the best package for your needs. My wife and I were planning a small elopement within 2 weeks and we decided to get a photographer. We were expecting to be turned down by everyone since it was such short notice. Southern Grace saved the day and Rob was able to capture our special day. He was very professional and helped us out since we didn't know what we were doing. Looked for a photographer within the budget but local. Found Southern Grace and was not disappointed. We ended up with a custom plan since we were going for a more fly on the wall/candid shots. Tried to stay clear from tradition. They knew exactly what to do with little direction from us. -

Southern Grace provided very professional quality photos for a very affordable price. They were very quick to respond to our inquiry and very helpful with determining location and what to wear. They also let our dog join in the fun. They made the shoot feel relaxing and fun for two people not used to getting their photos taken. Highly highly recommend!! -

I've been delaying this review for some time in part because thinking about it makes me so angry, but also because we still haven't gotten it wedding album. I no longer believe it exists so here we go.
Worst vendor of my wedding and life. I've never worked with someone so unprofessional. I filled out their questionnaire and created a shot list, neither of which were even looked at. The photographer was LATE on the day of and delayed our service. She had my shot list but had not looked at it and kept suggesting portraits and shots we did not want and were not appropriate. "Let's get the grandparents in"... they are dead thanks. The second shooter was 12 years old at best. Some how we ended up with multiple pictures of her in our final package. Why?? Even if you took pictures of your kid during my wedding, I DO NOT want them.
We were told the pictures would be processed and available 6 weeks after the wedding. I checked in after six weeks and was told our edit was next. Then again told it takes them 8-12 weeks per wedding. You know, that's fine in all reality but when you send me a proposal that says 6 weeks, I expect 6 weeks. Change your proposal if you can't meet your own deadlines, or perhaps warn customers in advance. Well it took 3 months for the pictures to come back and we were so disappointed with them. There was random stuff in the background of portraits, bad lighting, poorly timed shots giving everyone awkward expressions, and what I really wanted was candids but there were only a handful.
We were told the album would take 2-3 months, and that seeing a draft of it was impossible... so it's been 8 months and despite many emails, we have not seen the album. -

Can’t Be Trusted
Long review to highlight all aspects of working with this company as our wedding photographers. BEWARE of the “World Renowned” claim on their website. Their service is far from white glove as they claim.
This company does part-time photography at best, but tells you this is their full time job. They outsource the picture taking to other people. They get paid to be the middle man and frankly it shows. Before we signed the contract, we were told they were full time photographers & the husband/wife team would be the ones shooting our wedding. They stated they do all of the editing themselves, which seems to be correct. When asked about timelines for delivery, they stated a 6 week turn around as our wedding was very small. The truth is they are so focused on other things, they can’t deliver on their promises. Customer service is hands down the worst I have ever experienced. They take advantage of people trying to build their portfolio just to make a buck.
The signed contract clearly states pictures would be delivered no later than 6 weeks from the event. Our wedding was April 8, 2023, making May 20, 2023 the 6 weeks mark. We heard nothing from them after the wedding, so we reached out on May 12 to get an update & to see if delivery was on track for the following week. I was simply told, “Weddings take 6 – 8 weeks”. No other details or information was provided. We understand things happen & while we were disappointed they would be late, we understood. We suggested they update their contract to reflect a more appropriate & realistic timeline for future clients. We followed up again as follows.
- May 30 asked for an update & no response was given
- June 2 we were told “we have been running 8 – 12 weeks, but that’s not your problem.” They also said pictures are in the process of being edited & would be delivered next week
- June 9 again no response
- June 10 we were told the pictures were in final post & would be delivered next week, before June 16
- June 15 we asked what time the pictures would be delivered. 9 hours later, the response was simply a link to the pictures. No other information or details, but we finally got the pictures nearly 4 weeks after the contractual delivery date. (Copies of the messages are included so you can see what actually happened. I’ve seen reviews where they try to deny these behaviors & it’s important for people to know who they are dealing with)
Communication is not proactive & when you’re lucky enough to get a response, it’s short, rude, & very unprofessional. In the beginning, they were professional & kind. That all changed after the contract was signed & they had us locked into a fee commitment. We paid our deposit & they went silent until 2/2/23, not to check in about the wedding but to see if I wanted to spend more money by adding a boudoir session, which I politely declined. I also asked if we could set up a time to talk over the next week to cover the day of & review the timelines. To which I was told “your photographer will be reaching out”. This was the first clue we had that they were outsourcing the photography. Mind you they never actually told us this would be happening. We had to reach out again on 2/11 to ask about setting up time to review the timeline, shot list, & other planning items for wedding day. I was finally given a first name only of the photographer & was told she would be giving us a call. On Feb 14th, we had to reach out again to get the photographers phone number as we had not heard anything from them. It took looping our wedding coordinator into the conversation to get the phone number. Communication with the actual company was horrible, short/rude responses, & zero accountability. It should not have taken us reaching out 3 times over the course of 12 days to get connected with whomever is providing a service at our wedding.
My advice, go with a company the communicates well, has a passion for what they do, and will enhance your experience. This isn’t a place you will find that experience. Run far, far away. -
