Ron, Ruby, Hannah and Ashley are an absolutely spectacular crew. We were taken care of through every step of the planning process. They made us feel like family! The day of the wedding, Hannah and Ruby had every aspect covered before I could even think of what was needed. Even the golf cart drivers were so dialed in, they would look for people who might need a ride! Both my daughter and I were able to relax and enjoy each minute of that very special day. I can't imagine being cared for any better. The venue is clean, has great flow, and plenty of room to eat, mingle and dance, even with 200 guests. I'm so thankful to have found SWR, it was the perfect venue!South Wind Ranch's reply:

We had the most perfect wedding day at South Wind Ranch. Ashley and the entire team are incredible. Every single detail was perfect and all of our guests complimented the beautiful location, smooth flow of the day, and amazing service. Ashley orchestrated our entire day from getting ready, to timing transportation to and from our ceremony location, and the entire evening back at South Wind Ranch. Its obvious that she and the team genuinely care about the bride and groom having their perfect day. Thank you guys SO MUCH. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. -

We were the band for a recent wedding at South Wind Ranch, and we had the pleasure of working with Jessica Nepsha. She was organized, clear, and completely on top of the timeline, making load-in, setup, and performance smooth and stress-free.
Jessica is exactly the kind of coordinator vendors hope for: proactive, calm, and easy to communicate with. Everything ran seamlessly, and we always knew where to be and when.
Her work was evident throughout the venue. The florals and overall design were beautiful, intentional, and suited so well for the space.
From a vendor standpoint, Jessica is a true professional and a pleasure to work with. We would gladly work with her again and highly recommend her to couples and vendors alike.

Not sure where to begin, but we had the wedding of our dreams at SWR this past weekend. SWR was the first and only venue we toured — and the moment we met Ron, we knew immediately that this was where we wanted to get married. The venue is pristine, the landscape is stunning, and the perks and amenities that come with it would be hard to find anywhere else. When I first started wedding planning, I didn’t think I’d be a “high-maintenance bride,” but as the big day got closer, I realized… maybe I was becoming one. This summer alone, I attended nine weddings as a guest, and each was its own dream. It made me want certain things for my own day — and, if I’m being honest, I worried I might not get that same level of service (for no reason at all!). Enter Jessica, our coordinator — and I would literally die for that woman. She is hardworking, detail-oriented, honest, and caring… oh, and she answered every single text and call, even the ones that came in at 10:00 p.m. on a Monday night. When I would look around the room during our wedding day, I literally would see her RUNNING to get things done YES, actually running! She was extremely professional at every moment of the day, and I could not have done this without her. She was highly reccomended to us by a family friend who also got married at SWR and used her, but I knew we couldn't "choose" our planner. Luckily, we were matched with her and I am so glad that we were. Jessica offered to run errands for us on the week of our wedding, bring coffees and bagels the morning of, and even pick-up late-night pizza on the wedding day for our guests. WHAT A STAR. On the wedding day, I knew I just had to let go — to trust Jessica, trust our vendors, and trust that the venue team would execute. And wow… they did more than that. My husband and I are still speechless four days later. Everything exceeded our expectations beyond measure. We are completely overwhelmed with gratitude for the support, service, and care that the ranch provided. On my wedding day, I felt peaceful every single second — and that says it all. We had an amazing experience at South Wind Ranch! The venue is absolutely stunning — gorgeous mountain views, barn space, get-ready house, and back patio for cocktail hour. Our planner (Hannah Silvey!) made our day stress-free and unforgettable. It felt like they had thought of every detail. Our day was seamless and we all had a blast. Highly recommend!! -

How to even begin!!! The team at Southwind Ranch went so far above and beyond to make our wedding the absolute best day of our lives! My wife and I recently got married (Oct 5th 2024) and we had the best experience! The staff is absolutely amazing and the owner, Ron, was so helpful from day one and was there for every moment!! Our wedding coordinator, Jessica, was a blessing for us! She helped with everything and getting all of the details so that we could spend the day just enjoying our day! -

From the day we took the tour, everything went smoothly. We were able to go back and plan, meet with Ashley in person and over the phone, and schedule a time line. First off, Mrs Ruby&Ron, the owners of the venue do not only have the most beautiful piece of property I’ve seen in the area but also have an absolute passion for making your dream wedding come true! I was way out of my comfort zone when it came to planning this wedding! When you book the venue you also book one of the on hands wedding planners! Who immediately walk you through the property and gives you a list of preferred and highly rated vendors in different price ranges! Once you book all your vendors, and you have all your decor details, you simply hand them over to your Wedding Planner and they handle everything from there! From the timelines; small details and traditional things you may forgot about! They will reach out to vendors getting all their schedules aligned! Literally handling all the background stuff so you can focus on the small details that will make your dream wedding how you always pictured it! I cannot stress how beneficial this whole process was by simply using South wind Ranch! They offer a package where you can get a two night wedding so you hold The rehearsal dinner in an area on the property; there’s a bridal cabin on the property where you and your bridesmaids can stay the night and wake up and get ready, get married and bride and groom can stay the night in the bridal cabin night of or we had my mother in law and kids stay there after our send off! And as far as the day of the wedding…incredible!! I was blown away with how much the staff and Mrs Ruby and our wedding planner, Jessica, were out there putting everything together the way I pictured! There isn’t some random strangers you’ve never met before opening the doors before you walk down the aisle. It’s Jessica and Mrs Ruby, counting you down telling you to breathe everything‘s perfect; literally being there every step of the way! There were small minor things with no control of the venues that went wrong that I didn’t even know about until after the fact, which is how it should be! As a bride I was not bothered; questioned or stressed at any point throughout my entire wedding day or night! It was the most magical experience and weekend of my life; and a lot of the credit it due to this venue! This was a long review but I just wanted a bride to read this and know that if you want a venue that has it all and does it all I’d highly recommend again and again south wind ranch!South Wind Ranch's reply:

The Whites
My husband and I are so so grateful that we had Ashley & Hannah by our sides throughout the whole planning process and wedding day! Our wedding day went so smoothly and we were both able to be fully present throughout the whole day because of them. The venue was beyond gorgeous and had everything we were looking for and more. It was great to be able to get ready with my girls in the suite that is right on the property and my husband and his guys had plenty of space in the barn to finish up getting ready. Me and my husband had such a lovely experience with the team at SWR. The owner was super personable and fun! From the first moment we talked to him on the phone, we felt very comfortable and excited to visit the venue and meet him in person. The wedding coordinators are extra sweet. They were very responsive and they took care of every detail. They really understood what we envisioned for our big day and everything was more than perfect on the day of the wedding! They were also super flexible with some of the things we wanted, like bringing other vendors and the time for the event to end. I also loved that we could book the venue for two days, allowing us to have our rehearsal dinner there and having the option to stay at their beautiful bridal suite the night before. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane and lack of power, I was not able to stay the night, but they kindly offered a night for me and my husband to use the suite some other time. I am truly happy that we picked SWR and if we had to do it all over again, we would do it there, with the same team! :DSouth Wind Ranch's reply:

Couldn’t be happier
I just got home to PA and can’t stop thinking about our fabulous experience with South Wind Ranch while planning our daughter’s wedding. The venue was a beautiful setting for our December wedding! Even more importantly, Jessica Nepsha, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to help plan out all the details. Being a mother of the bride who was 10 hours away, I didn’t know which way to turn first. She connected us with all the right vendors to help create the wedding of our dreams.

Outstanding venue!
On December 11, 2021 my daughter Carly and her fiance Jack were married at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest, SC. I can sum up the entire weekend in a single word….MAGICAL !!!
The owner of SWR is Ron and I can not say enough about how accommodating he was throughout all of the months of planning what turned out to be a most exceptional and magnificent wedding. Always with a smile on his face, he gave Carly and Jack his utmost attention whenever meeting with them. He is so down to earth, so easy and comfortable to work with. The rapport was amazing as you could see and feel how much he really cared about making their wedding day as special as possible for them.
Then there is Ashley, Carly and Jack’s wedding planner provided by SWR. Ashley excelled at her job in every way imaginable, honing in on each particular want and need that Carly and Jack had. She utilized her wedding planning experience and expertise to make wonderful and helpful suggestions every time Carly was unsure between choices–right down to which kind of napkins to pick. Her creativity and ability to connect with both the bride and groom produced a wedding experience unique to who Carly and Jack are as a couple. A last minute change because of inclement weather caused Ashley to have to move the wedding ceremony itself from the outside chapel to inside the barn. Walking into the barn just prior to the ceremony one would never know that this was a last minute set up. It was like walking onto a Hallmark Movie set….the entire scene was spellbinding! My utmost gratitude goes out to Ron, Ashley and the entire SWR staff as they each contributed in their own unique way to make my daughter’s dream wedding come true. Every tiny detail was paid attention to, and every expectation was not only met, but definitely surpassed. You transformed the barn into a romantic winter wonderland, complete with a roaring fire in that gorgeous fireplace, twinkling white lights draped throughout, flocked evergreen trees and swags strategically placed, and softly burning candles on every table. Most importantly though, you created a warm and lovely atmosphere overflowing with kinship and love. A place where friends and family were able to come together as one united front to celebrate the long awaited union of this beautiful couple.
I highly recommend this exceptional venue with its top notch professional staff and incredibly beautiful grounds. The kindness and consideration displayed throughout the planning of Carly and Jack’s fairy tale wedding will forever be appreciated. There aren't enough words to fully express the gratitude my husband and I have for Ashley, Ron, and the entire SWR team. Our wedding on 12/11/21 was an absolute dream, despite horrible and rainy weather - and that was all made possible by Ashley and the SWR team.
Like any bride, nobody wants to even consider that there could be rain on their wedding day. As our day got closer and closer, we realized that the threat of rain wasn't going to just be a threat, but a very disappointing reality. I was devestated because I had always dreamed of getting married outside; however, Ashley made Plan B look like it should have been Plan A the entire time. She was there for me the entire week of the wedding (and way before that!), being a constant source of comfort and assured me that even if we had to move to the rain plan, that it was going to be beautiful. She was absolutely right. She and her team transformed the barn into a winter wonderland for our ceremony and reception, and even went so far as to change the layout for our ceremony hours before so we could open the doors up and still get a sense of being outside. After walking down the aisle, Ashley and her team opened the barn door right as I took my place next to my husband and I had multiple guests tell me that it looked like a fairy tale with the doors magically opening! Ron (the owner of the ranch who is one of the most fun people you'll ever meet!) even drove me and my girls down to the ceremony space in his car so we wouldn't get wet - every small thing you could ever want or think of, SWR provides and does it before you can even ask.
If you are looking for a place for your wedding, I cannot recommend SWR enough! I never thought I would get married in December (I always wanted a Fall wedding), but was changed my mind after visiting SWR. There were no Fall dates available at the time, and I was hesitant to get married in December - but I changed my entire plan/vision after visiting the ranch and I couldn't imagine my wedding being anywhere else or at any other time.
The venue is gorgeous (even in the rain), the staff is top notch, and the amenities (including the bridal suite you can stay at the night of your wedding or the night before as well if you do the weekend package) are second to none. You will not regret having SWR host your special day - thank you SWR for making all of my wedding dreams come true! You guys are simply the best.

Ron really cares about the couples that get married at the ranch. He was open and welcoming to us when we first toured. This ranch has the potential to explode in popularity. It is beautiful and scenic. There is a wonderful house for the girls to get ready in prior to the ceremony. The outside chapel area is so cute. The event barn was perfect for the reception. Ron also picks you up and drives you around in a golf cart to get to the most scenic places for the best pictures. I would highly recommend South Wind Ranch to anyone looking for a venue to get married at. -

Absolutely perfect! My husband and I knew as soon as we toured, this was where we wanted to have our wedding and it couldn’t have gone any better! From the rehearsal dinner to a great sleepover with my bridesmaids in the bridal suite, to the amazing reception in the party barn, it was perfect. Ron and Ashley were so helpful and treated us like family. Our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how pretty everything was and everyone had an amazing time partying the night away!

South Wind Ranch is absolutely the most amazing place you can get married. They put the EASY in wedding planning. My husband and I only toured one place (South Wind Ranch) and as soon as we stepped on campus, we were hooked. The careful thought that has been put into the aesthetic here is absolutely enchanting. Ron and Ashley are a dream team and truly operate under the effort to make everything exactly as you had envisioned. Our guests absolutely RAVED about our perfect Fall wedding, my bridesmaids couldn't get enough of the bridal suite and Ashley was an absolute angel in coordinating it all. We would recommend this venue over and over and over again. -

Best Wedding Venue in town

Western Welcome Party
The venue was perfect for our Western Welcome Party the night before our son’s wedding. Ron was wonderful making sure everything was ready. We rented buses to get our guest to and from Downtown Greenville which worked out great! I would highly recommend this unique spot.South Wind Ranch's reply:

Magical Weekend
My daughter and her husband had their reception at South Wind Ranch in July 2019. Both Ashley and Ron were so easy to work with. We had 265 guests and they made it happen. The outside patios were great to accommodate the larger crowd and the cocktail hour, The venue was transformed by the florist, it had a natural elegance feel, it was a beautiful location with the lake and the sunset. The bridal party did not use the house, but the groomsmen were able to utilize the property and the house to shower (and they loved it). All of the guests had a great time. Also a big shout out to Ashley for managing both the wedding ceremony, which was held off site at a church in Greenville, and the reception at Southwind.South Wind Ranch's reply:

Our wedding at South Wind Ranch was perfect. We wanted a beautiful spot that would be welcoming for our out of town guests and kid-friendly. The space and the property is gorgeous. The kids had such a good time and we LOVED how comfortable we were in the Guest House. Everything is beautifully done and every detail was on point. Ron is awesome to work with and we have enjoyed seeing his vision of the space come to fruition (we booked pre-construction). He and Ashley are so accommodating and made everything very easy for us. -

We are planning my daughters upcoming wedding in October and Ron and Ashley have been GREAT! We also hired Ashley as a wedding planner and she has been top notch! I have had zero worries because she is handling it all. They also have a large list of venders they work with. Any questions we have had or concerns Ron has handled it immediately. He even went to the local hotels to works deals for our out of town guests..

I HIGHLY recommend this PROPERTY for anyone to get married. It’s absolutely gorgeous and Ron the owner is absolute amazing.
Please, PLEASE before booking with South Wind, have a conversation about booking and using their wedding coordinators. If you’re told your coordinator will be Ashley, you’re good! But please PLEASE if you are told your coordinator will be Jessica, RUN AND FAST!!! She’s absolutely terrible. Like so terrible that it actually broke my heart how bad she was. I planned my entire wedding…. I booked all my vendors, spoke and coordinated with all of them, figured out details, EVERYTHING. My supposed “coordinator” did not ever reach out to me on her own. I had to reach out to her for any questions and plus she never even answered that hardly other than maybe a text message here and there or if she did it was days later.
I'm one that likes to be organized and and ready to go WAY in advance. She didn’t even reach out to try to coordinate with me until a little more than TWO WEEKS before the wedding. Do you know how stressful and emotional that is for a bride who is not supposed to worry about doing anything but marrying the love of her life? She also always had a oblivious attitude that she didn’t do anything wrong or that everything was okay. It was heartbreaking! My parents did whatever they could to make sure I was able to get married at this venue and to know they had to pay a lot of extra money for someone who was absolute garbage is enraging to me. AWFUL. So disrespectful of your time and money was all she was.
LASTLY, if she couldn’t get any worse, because she waited so late to try to coordinate with me, she was rushing I believe to get all the details together (point being I never even received a timeline or floor plan until a little over a WEEK before the wedding that was made without even coordinating with me…) that she was calling vendors and making decisions… BEFORE ASKING ME! Which included adding on things and more money for me to spend. SO DISRESPECTFUL! Almost every one of my vendors reached out to either myself or my mother and told us that whoever our supposed coordinator is… needs to be let go or put in her place. Two of my vendors were furious actually. Because she called making decisions after we had already talked to the vendors and told them exactly what we wanted so it was confusing and screwing them because they were going back and forth, (for example she called my caterer and suggested we add back items we took off because she had on the timeline to have our food served at 8:15 PM which was never even asked by me). It's different to make a suggestion to a vendor after consulting with the bride, but to make suggestions to a vendor before even consulting with me was infuriating. Not to mention, I had a photo booth pop up on the day of the wedding (I was the one who booked, contacted and had everything planned for that as well) and had a solid plan in place. She proceeds to contact and tell them to show up an hour earlier without consulting me which cost me an extra $250.. THAT IS NOT THAT VENDORS FAULT. Period. They were doing what they were told and it's not a situation where "they should've told us it cost more", NO. I SHOULD'VE BEEN CONSULTED BEFOREHAND. PERIOD.
Do you want to know the worst thing? I WAS NEVER EVEN REFUNDED BY SOUTH WIND. Even though it was THEIR planner's fault. Be aware, they will act like they care, blow smoke up and act like they are going to fix things but NOTHING was ever fixed. It's infuriating, heartbreaking and altogether WRONG. This review may be harsh but I gave them PLENTY of chances to make this right after multiple attempts to try to approach it the right way. Nothing was ever done. A planner who did NOTHING was paid good money for me planning my own wedding and I was also charged more money for things she did and it was never corrected.
It's just unacceptable. Our food from our caterers? Never even saw any of what we had left that WE paid for. Our cakes that were left over? THEY WERE GIVEN AWAY WITHOUT ASKING ME TO STAFF AND OTHER PEOPLE. At least half of my bridal party and even some other attendees who were apart of my day informed me how rude Jessica was.
Just please be aware. This is from my OWN experience. Was my wedding day amazing? Absolutely. Would I get married there again? For sure. But the experience and stress I had to deal with up until the actual day? NEVER. After analyzing, and again this is how I FEEL, is that I was given a script of saying they cared and wanted to make everything right, but it was all about making money to me to where I felt sad, heartbroken, unimportant and that I was just another person who booked their venue.
Again, I would still recommend someone to get married here but ONLY because of the absolute beauty of the venue. That's about it. -

My husband and I had our wedding reception Labor Day 2021. The venue itself was beautiful and we and our guest loved it. The night was perfect weather and we had a blast during cocktail hour to the end of dancing. The bridal suite was clean and perfect to get ready and spend the night in. Great job in the facilities!
One part we were not satisfied with was the wedding coordinating team. We signed the contract in February of 2020 so had full planning and coordination included in our contract. South Wind Ranch assigned us 4 different coordinators throughout our planning process because the previous 3 had quit or were fired. The last coordinator we were assigned was a week before the wedding and was not responsive or answer our questions. The head of coordination said she would be there day of and was no where to be seen.
On wedding day, my family and I showed up to the venue at 1pm and it was a mess. There were desserts from the previous night all over outside with ants in it, the cushions were soaked with water but left on the couches, trash cans were full, and a lot of debris / trash on the floor. We had to pick up all of that because now day of coordinator had to run out for ~2 hours to do an errand (3 hours before the event). Needless to say the prep for the event was extremely stressful with missing nametags (the groom and maid of honor) and a dirty venue. Meanwhile I had to go up and get ready and leave my parents scrambling to get the barn ready. Another coordinator was there but meeting with another couple the whole time. We were very disappointed with this and it caused us a lot of stress hours before the event. They were helpful during the event in terms of making sure we had the things we needed and having things organized at the end of the night to pack up the next morning, but the prep work left a lot to be desired. Thankfully we had a great DJ, Audiografs, who helped coordinate the reception and make sure everything was on time and flowing well. Also make sure to get everything in writing. We had issues with the linens being included but then the venue changed the service and they weren't willing to give us linens. Thankfully I found the email stating linens were provided and got that taken care of.
One other thing I was the walkway to the barn. We had two guest fall (one on the bridge and one on the gravel). When we did our tour of the venue and in our contract, there was supposed to be a golf cart to transport guest to and from their cars and take us up the hill for pictures, but that was nowhere to be found. I didn't even have a golf cart from the bridal suite to the barn, so had to walk in heels and my dress down a very steep hill which was not the easiest.
I also sent all this information the week after my reception to the owner and heard nothing back. If I heard anything back I would not have wrote the reviews but want to tell other potential couples. Communication was very poor.
Despite the stress of the coordination and some logistics, I had a wonderful reception with friends and family.South Wind Ranch's reply:
