Best DJ Ever

Jimmy is a family friend of the bride so he was an easy choice to be our wedding DJ. He did an unbelievable job hosting and getting our party started after dinner. We gave him some playlists and he did a great job feeling out our music choices and adding to them seamlessly. Pretty quickly after dinner ended Jimmy had so many people on the dance floor there was hardly any more space. We are biased - but this was the most fun wedding we have ever been to in large part because of our excellent DJ.

The Day of our Dreams!

Jim was an amazing DJ for our 9/30/23 wedding!! Our guests had the best time. His request form was incredibly helpful in making sure we had all of our music bases covered. Would highly recommend!

Videographer for Wedding

Joanna from Soundwave is AMAZING!!!! If you are in need of a videographer for an event she is your woman! We hired her for our wedding and she was helpful every step of the way through planning all the way up to the day of the wedding. This is more than just a business to her and you can tell the moment you speak to her. Not to mention her work is beautiful and captures the perfect moments that you will want to have forever.

Amazing DJ !!!

Jimmy was our DJ for our destination wedding over the weekend. He was attentive, personable, and played great music. He played all of our requests (and absolute jams that were along the lines of our requested songs), he had perfect timing, and he was awesome at engaging the crowd.

The first thing he did that was phenomenal was call out a dance off during dinner. My parent's table, the first to go up, did a little dance when they were called to get their food. After that, Jimmy said "the bar has been set and each table must do a dance when they get up to get their food". Every table started doing them, and a person from each table ran up to request their song with Jimmy. It was hilarious, spontaneous, and so fun to watch, and it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't said that!

He was also very perceptive to our needs. At one point before the speeches my grandfather had to be brought back to the hotel. Jimmy pulled us aside and said "I think I just saw your step dad taking your grandpa home, do you want me to wait a bit for the speeches so he doesn't miss them?". This was so sweet and thoughtful and we really appreciated that.

Jimmy - you rock. Thank you for helping us kill the dance floor the whole night!!!

Jim is the best!

Jim and the team at Soundwave are simply amazing. Jim was extremely accommodating and was even able to make last min song changes the morning of the wedding. He was extremely fun and upbeat and kept everyone dancing all night long. We would highly recommend using Soundwave!!

Best DJ of Key West

We had Jim & Joanna for our DJ & Videographer for our wedding recently and I cannot begin to describe how amazing they both are. We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and were adding hours and people and making so many changes during our wedding planning and both Jim & Joanna were quick to respond and accommodate all of our changes. They are also just such kind people and you can just see how much they love their work and I love that. They helped make our wedding spectacular and I would 10/10 recommend them to everyone getting married in Key West.

Awesome entertainment!

Jim did an amazing job with the music for our ceremony and reception! He sent us a form to complete prior to the wedding to ensure all of our requests were complete in advance of the wedding day. The form was very organized and easy to use!
We provided Jim a short list of the types of songs we wanted played at our reception and he did a great job reading the crowd and keeping everyone on the dance floor. Our guests complimented his services and said they all had a blast!! I would definitely recommend Jim for wedding and reception DJ services!

Fun & Fantastic

Used soundwave for both DJ and Videography great pick! Jimmy the DJ was great and knowledgeable about our venue at the Hemingway Home. Very detailed in the planning process in regards to needing information about the entire ceremony and reception...which songs to play and when...On time with announcements. Music selection was great and matched the atmosphere of the night. Easy going. Definitely recommend.
Joanna was great for videography! She was wonderful to work with and had a great working relationship with my photography team. On time and fun to work with the entire day. Very accommodating with request and was able to adjust hours to meet our needs. We even traveled around key west for our videography for a few hours. Cannot wait to see our wedding video very excited

Amazing Video & DJ Duo

Joanna and Jim were not only amazing with DJ and video services but they were an absolute blast to work with. Jim kept the party going all night on the dance floor and Joanna shot the most perfect wedding footage. They listened to all of our requests and executed perfectly. The Best DJ in Key West

Jimmy was such an amazing fit for our August wedding at the Southernmost Beach Resort. From beginning to end, he was fantastic. Super easy to communicate with. Booking and song choices (via his online form) were extremely simple and user friendly. At our actual event, he was phenomenal. He has a great announcing voice, everything was on time and his music choices kept our entire guest list on the dance floor all night! We had so many guests tell us how fabulous he was. Highly recommend.

Never have I ever seen a DJ know how to properly handle a rogue T-Rex at a wedding...

If you have even an inkling of a suspicion that a rogue T-Rex may wonder onto your dancefloor, don't call the Ghostbusters. Call Jimmy Cooper. This man got the job done! My childhood friend surprised us in an inflatable t-rex costume and Jimmy knew to turn it into an insta-conga line, which got all of our guests on their feet. (Unfortunately, this led to a severe lack of photographs of this moment as everyone was busy having too much fun conga-ing around the Hemingway property. But... his beautiful wife, Joanna, was there to capture this and many other moments as our videographer.). We absolutely loved our DJ, as did our guests. We have received more compliments about him than any other of our vendors. And also the most complaints. Complaints such as, "that man did not play a single bad song so I never got the chance to try the cake!" Or, "my feet were killing me by the end of the night because I just couldn't stop dancing!" I mean, this guy played back to back N'Sync and Backstreet Boys (he knew his audience... aka 30 somethings that would give anything to relive their boy band crushes of the 90s). Thanks Jimmy for giving us and our guests such a memorable night. We adored you!

Jim with SoundWave was part of our dream wedding team on March 4 in Key West! Jim sent us a form to fill out ahead of time which allowed us to customize the music for our day. Couldn't have been better!

My husband and I contracted James with Soundwave several months before our wedding. We were always in contact with him regarding songs we would like for our ceremony and reception. James was incredibly flexible with our last minute changes to what songs to play for the processional music and our first dance. Not only was the audio portion flawless, they also provided uplighting that made our ballroom "pop". Do not hesitate to contact Soundwave, they are great!

Life of the party

Where do we even start?! When our wedding was on the cusp of being postponed due to COVID in April, the biggest light of positivity was Jim at SoundWave. He had the best outlook and attitude about the situation. When we had to postpone until December, he didn’t skip a beat and made sure he personally could DJ our wedding, replacing himself at an annual Christmas event. Joanna came into the planning process and I can safely assume that she was the most efficient and simple videographer booking on the planet. She was so kind and helpful and gave us all of her professional recommendations.

When we all met for the first time in person at our wedding, they instantly wiped any worries I had away. They were so positive, kind, happy, energetic and helpful. DJ and video services aside, we had a FANTASTIC time with them at our wedding! We laughed and and sang and danced all night.

Their equipment was fantastic! Nobody had issues hearing music, speeches or the ceremony. There was not a single time when the dance floor was not occupied and we are so grateful for them!

My Fairy tale wedding was captured by the best!

Trailer video was perfect!!!

Joanna is the best videographer out there!

We booked Joanna for our wedding and we couldn't have made a better choice for our videographer! From the moment that I spoke with her on the phone during the initial consultation, I told my then fiance that she was perfect. Just based on the phone conversation, I could tell she was going to do such a great job. She was so kind to all of our guests, including everyone, and made sure to catch all of the right moments while keeping everything on track. We haven't received our full video yet but we (and our family/friends) can't wait to see it after only receiving the highlight videos today! I usually feel so uncomfortable taking pictures or videos but she made the entire process fun and enjoyable. We also had a second videographer through Soundwave who arrived at the ceremony, she was amazing as well. If you're having any doubts about hiring Joanna, don't! We purposely cancelled with the wedding planning company we were originally going with because they wanted us to hire their own videographer but we wanted to go with Soundwave and it was the best decision. She truly went above and beyond her job description. She basically helped coordinate the guests beforehand to get the footage at the proper time. Her and our second videographer even offered to drive the groom and I to the reception venue so our guests could get there sooner while we get more footage. You can truly tell she loves what she does. We cannot recommend Joanna, or Soundwave, enough!

Made Our Wedding Great

We had Soundwave DJ at our reception on December 1. DJ Rahm was the best DJ we have ever heard. We had a long list of songs that we wanted to be played and he got every one of them. The sound system was great. DJ Rahm kept the music coming, and even had some tunes requested from our country music loving guests. Rahm was very personable and made sure we did not want for anything. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND both Soundwave and DJ Rahm

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Joanna and her work. She is a total professional and was so responsive and easy to work with from beginning to end. She captured every moment and detail of our special day producing our wedding video that is beyond our wildest dreams. The best wedding decision we made!

Travis and I were married 14 years ago today (4/21) at the Ernest Hemingway House and we are watching our video with tremendous gratitude. We can relive all the fabulous moments of our special day with the super high quality video we have. Extra special was the way Jimmy entertained my 4 and 6 year old nephews at the DJ table with delight at what his own son would be like. Great DJ, highly recommend!

My husband and I love music and we spent many hours compiling a list of songs that we wanted to play. Jim graciously took our longgggg list and played almost every song we requested. He laid them out so they flowed and tried to get our guests into it. He even complimented our song choices at the end :). Soundwave was just that!!

Jim at Soundwave did a perfect job of working the ceremony music just as my daughter ordered. The wedding reception was great, Jim was a great MC and keep us all on schedule and he play the music you wanted to hear. Once he got you on the dance floor you couldn't leave, just one great song after another! We also got uplights for around the dance floor area and it worked out great with all the flowers and palm trees, just wonderful!

Exactly what we wanted! Amazing!

The Soundwave team was amazing. We booked Soundwave due to its awesome reviews and it did not disappoint. We coordinated through James Cooper and DJ Rahm Rodriguez was our DJ. They asked us what we wanted and delivered just that. My husband and I had some very specific requests for our ceremony and reception and DJ Rahm hit every mark. By the end of the night we had heard everything we wanted and songs we had forgotten to request. DJ Rahm just got us, and got what we were going for. Our guests were on the dance floor the whole night, and not just one or two, lots! Soundwave does not disappoint!

Great Experience!

My husband and I hired Jimmy from SoundWave as our DJ for both the ceremony and reception for our destination wedding in Key West. We have nothing but good things to say about him as he was able to have people up and dancing for such a short reception (2 hour brunch reception). He was very responsive whenever I contacted him and was such a pleasure to have at our wedding. He knew we were from the Philadelphia area and even played the Philadelphia Eagles fight song which really added to the energy of the day. Superb DJ!

James Cooper is a DJ Mastermind. In full transparency, we used the whole Family Affair team to do our wedding. Planner, Photographer, DJ, Videographer were all one great package. How did we find them? Through Jim and his wife Joanna. When we initially were seeking vendors on our own, Jim was one of the first people we spoke with. We had spoken with a few other DJ’s before Jim and none really had the vibe and connection that we were looking for. Jim was perfect from the beginning and was by far our most responsive, vendor. He led us through not only the DJ selection process, but guided us towards a path for other vendor selection that ultimately brought me and my partner’s stress level to almost ZERO.

As a DJ, he is incredible. My partner and I were nervous to say the least when we were telling a DJ that we wanted the night to start out with inclusive Motown and approachable pop music that eventually turned into millennial gay dance party extravaganza realness.

Did Jim flinch? No.
Did he tell us he loved the idea? Yes.
Did he execute? 100%.

Everyone, and I mean everyone (my partners family aren’t big dancers) got onto the floor at some point, and most of our friends and close family wouldn’t leave.

My partner and I decided to change our first dance song the morning of our ceremony.

Did Jim reply to us day of the wedding immediately? Yes
Was our last minute change an issue? No.
Did he compliment our choice and say it would be perfect? Yes.

Jim at Soundwave was a PERFECT blend of client service, taste, experience, and talent. He is basically the Ritz-Carlton of DJ’s and frankly, I wouldn’t ask anyone else to DJ a wedding in Key West.

Exactly what we wanted!

Joanna was our videographer for our wedding and reception at Hemingway House. We wanted to wait until we watched our video before writing a review. What we wanted was a nice, simple, but high quality video account of our perfect day. We wanted to hear our vows, watch our friends and family talk and laugh, and basically just relive this moment in our lives. That was surprisingly difficult to find. With soundwave, we got exactly what we wanted and for a very reasonable price. On top of that, Jim and Joanna were so easy to work with before, during, and after the wedding and our video was done before the estimated turn around time. We couldn’t be happier!! Fantastic customization

Jim was incredible with our custom playlist and ceremony music. And a fun staple of Key West, I've learned from other vendors' feedback.

We had a very specific vision that Jim met with ease and enthusiasm.
He talked with us day-of to ensure the timeline was on-track, and was patient and worked without hiccup with things got inevitably delayed.

He was on-time, his set-up and lights blended right in, and he was very sweet. Though a backdrop in the eyes of our guests, his playlist and his announcements were spot on to us with what we idealized and his professionally worked without any hiccups.

Jim at SoundWave is true professional! He stepped in to DJ my friend's wedding last minute when the originally scheduled DJ no-showed, but honestly if I wasn't a bridesmaid I wouldn't have even known that Jim wasn't supposed to be there the entire time. He was able to pick up in minutes the tone of my friend's wedding and the dance floor was full for the whole reception. Jim very clearly has been in this business a long time and he's very good at it!

Jim and Joanna were absolutely great and complete pros. The setup of microphones for the ceremony was very smooth, and they explained all the details to us before hand. We had a completely custom playlist, but they nailed the timings on everything. They were also super helpful with spur of the moment announcements. Jim even looked up an obscure song on his phone when there was an impromptu karaoke session at the end haha. We couldn't have been happier!

Ahhh I cannot say enough about SoundWave and our DJ Sanaris! He was a gem! He met us out to review our event and event music. Sanaris made our wedding so fun for everyone! He played the music I had requested but also played to the other demographics within our group. He even let my nephew behind the booth with him to mix a little. I know he will treasure that moment forever! My chaplain even got down on the dance floor. Sanaris was not only our DJ for that one night we met him out at his other gigs throughout our stay that weekend and our guests were so pumped he was our DJ! I may have hired a DJ but we both walked away with a life long friend! I highly recommend SoundWave for your next event because they will cater to whatever vision you have!

Jim did a fantastic job at our wedding! We used him for our ceremony and reception. When I wasn't sure of what music to choose for the ceremony Jim provided lots of suggestions which made it easy for us! Jim was able to stay within our budget and provide everything we needed!

Jim was simply incredible! He was not only a joy on our actual wedding day but also in the planning process. He responded quickly to emails and was extremely accommodating and professional in everything he did. Even when there was LOTS of details with family names and last minute song changes AND even two add on live performances, he made it happen! Even more than that, he made it happen with a smile and always made me and my family feel like we were in the best hands. Which we were! As for the day of, he was a dream. He took into account ALL of our song requests and suggestions for different times during the celebration. On top of that he was an incredible MC. He had great energy and brought lots of joy to the party! He knew exactly how to read the night with songs and our Wedding celebration was all the better for it! We were so lucky to have Jim and we will always remember him for the amazing celebration he gave us on the best day of our lives. P.S. My mom also wanted me to mention how nice it was that he dressed for the occasion, in a nice suit for our formal wedding!

Jim is the best! I would HIGHLY recommend Jim and SoundWave to have as your wedding DJ. Jim is super nice and played such amazing music. We initially hired Jim Cooper from SoundWave to be our DJ, but then after talking to him and his wife, Joanna, who is a Videographer, we decided to choose one of their packages which included both of their services for the ceremony and reception as well as uplighting for our July 2016 wedding. We had 6 hours of video including highlight, so Joanna met us at the ceremony and had shots from us getting out of the limo and doing our pre-ceremony photos, guests arriving, the entire ceremony, and the entire reception. Jim had a great set-up for the ceremony as well as the reception. He played music as guests arrived and also had a wireless lapel microphone so that our guests could hear the officiant loud and clear. Jim was able to take all of our song requests for each of the different parts of the day and use them to figure out what else we would like- he did such a great job that the whole night, we didn’t request any songs- he kept everyone on the dance floor! We were so glad that we chose to do the video, too, because it was so much fun getting the short preview and then, shortly after, getting the full-length video which allowed us to relive the entire day each time we watched it.

I have had the chance to use SoundWave's DJ services for private parties previously, but this was the first time I had the chance to use them for a wedding, reception and after-party. Jimmy did a great job of working with both me and my daughter and son-in-law to supply music for all ages and appropriate for the wedding, reception and after party. The music complimented each of those components and made for a fun-filled event. He also provided the sound system for the wedding ceremony and everything worked so that our friends and family got to enjoy the entire day! SoundWave also does wedding videography and we utilized that service as well. Jimmy's wife, Joanna, headed up that service and because they are both part of the team, they worked together flawlessly. I would definitely recommend SoundWave for any of your DJ and videography requirements!

Jimmy and Joanna were simply amazing!!! I got them the family affair package that included DJ, photographer and the videographer. It was the best decision ever! Joanna was the sweetest!!! We worked with DJ Jimmy to coordinate logistics ahead of our wedding. He was super responsive via email and made sure everything was set for the big day. DJ Shawna was our wedding DJ. She provided support for our outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. She did an amazing job of keeping the party going all night long. Friends and family kept the dance floor filled. She rolled with the punches and providing the perfect soundtrack when an unexpected dollar dance materialized in the middle of the dance floor. The day before our wedding, we caved and rented tents in response to the forecasted rain. The morning of our wedding, we called the tent company and asked them to come take the tents down, because the forecast had cleared up. We should have known--after paying $1000 for wedding tents that wouldn't make it to the wedding--that rain it would. And it did. This could have been disastrous for us, but it wasn't, in part because of DJ Shawna's awesomeness. Once the rain started, Shawna's tarps and raincoat came out, and the music continued without a hiccup (with a 100% the rain-themed playlist). And as soon as the rain stopped, the tarps disappeared. We wanted a low-key DJ to set the tone for our event (no announcements, no special dances), and DJ Shawna responded perfectly. She played all the songs we had requested in advance, she played perfect songs in between, and our guests all raved about her the morning after. DJ Shawna is the best!! She listened to all of our requests, and somehow made our eclectic music taste into an incredible reception. Our dance floor was packed the entire night! People are still commenting about how great our DJ was! We were very impressed with how she was able to keep my 75 year grandfather happily dancing, as well as my 17 year old cousins! It's an impressive feat! We couldn't have been any happier. SoundWave in general is also very accommodating to your needs and schedule - we had a bit of a delay in sending our requested songs over to them, but they were incredibly understanding, and put everything together in a short amount of time, AND it was still perfect! You can't go wrong with SoundWave.

We hired Jim and Joanna as our DJ and videographer. I cannot recommend them enough! Joanna has the BEST personality and makes everyone feel at ease in front of the video camera. Her husband, Jim was also an awesome DJ. He kept the music at a comfortable volume during dinner and knew exactly when to crank it up for dancing. I hired James Cooper to be the DJ at my wedding in June 2016 and he was absolutely amazing! He played all the right songs that got people up and dancing. I decided to have him to pick the cake cutting song, bridal party announcement song, and bouquet toss song because I already had so many decisions I was making, and he did a wonderful job picking all the songs. We had our wedding on 3/5/2016 at the Rum Barrel in Key West. We enlisted the help of Soundwave to ensure we had some great music to dance to and an MC to run the show. Sanaris was our DJ. He did an amazing job. I cannot say enough good things about him. We did not have a wedding planner at the site and Sanaris along with Kathy from the Rum Barrel made sure all of our expectations were exceeded. Sanaris did such a great job none of our guest wanted the party to end. When everyone realized we were almost out of time, they all begged me to see if we could keep the party going. Jimmy and Joanna were awesome! They were hands on from the beginning and catered entirely to our specific preference. My fiance' and myself were unsure of what we needed for our day but Jimmy immediately reached out to offer guidance which made things totally stress free. We had a mix of every type of music and he nailed it! When we arrived to our venue, the set up looked perfect and he played whatever our guests wanted! Joanna handled all videography for our day and did so perfectly! She captured moments that I didn't even realize happened throughout the course of the day. Even better, she had a wedding day highlight Vimeo sent to us in less than a week after the wedding! It's so much fun to watch and the visuals are awesome! They're such a fun, professional and talented crew and I would most certainly recommend them for your event. Honestly, when I first started planning my Key West wedding I wanted to have a live musician play the ceremony and reception. However, I wound up booking Soundwave for DJ services for the ceremony and reception and could not have been happier with this choice. Jimmy was our DJ for the evening and he was an absolute pleasure to work with that night, as well as throughout the planning process. Communication was mainly through email, and I received a few forms that I had to submit prior to our event so he knew what kind of music to play, as well as any special songs we wanted for the ceremony and reception. Jimmy worked with me through the entire process and played everything we wanted! Our ceremony went off without a hitch and his transition from the beach, to the garden, to the actual reception deck was seamless. He really was able to read my crowd and got everyone dancing by the end of the night. I'm not sure I could have picked a better DJ for our wedding, and I highly recommend him (as well as the others at Soundwave) to anyone who is looking to have a Key West wedding. The services were reasonably priced for what we received; we couldn't be happier!

We used Soundwave for our wedding in April of this year in Key West at the Sheraton Suites. It was perfect!! Jimmy and Joanna are amazing to work with! Initially, I wasn't going to go with video but Joanna talked me into it. I haven't seen the video yet but knowing that I almost didn't document the best day of my life, I can't believe that decision came across my mind! Their personalities are amazing! They have high energy but aren't over the top/on top of you and they really get to know your likes and dislikes! I didn't want any cliche wedding songs played (even though Shout was lol) and Jimmy listened! I also didn't know if I wanted to do the Polish Bridal Dollar Dance but he said to just let him know if I'm feeling it and he'll get it going. Our wedding would not have been the same without them!

I had actually booked another DJ for our wedding reception but for some reason I felt the need to keep searching on-line and kept going back to DJ Jimmy's website. I started this wedding process thinking I knew everything and that it would be easy to pick the best vendors and as I got closer to our wedding date I started to realize just how important it is to find likeminded people who share your vision, personality style and want to make you happy.

2 weeks before our wedding I cancelled our contract with our original DJ and crossed my fingers that DJ Jimmy would have the date available and be able to take our wedding on. Well... the odds were in our favor and with it being a holiday weekend, we were able to sign a contract and plan everything from the unique wedding party intros to exactly what I wanted and needed for dinner and dancing music so quickly.

I had already hired his sister-n-law and wife a year earlier to be our photographer and videographer and have to say that the flow of the photos, video and music was seamless!! Check out their family affair package!

When the big day came he was spot on and kept the energy up for our reception and kept our guests on the dance floor which is very hard with the majority of our wedding guests having 2 left feet! We all danced the night away and I couldn't of been happier with my last minute change and the professionalism and energy of DJ Jimmy with Soundwave!!

He also provided my uplighting which I highly recommend as it adds a great feel and atmosphere to the room!

You won't be disappointed!!!! Thank you DJ Jimmy!!!!

My husband is a scratch turntablist by trade, a full time DJ and producer in life, and is now in his 23rd year of this career. He knows his shit when it comes to DJs and thus I set him on course for finding the perfect vendor for us.

After doing a bit of online research, he stumbled upon a few options and gave his favorite, SoundWave, a call. Jeff spoke with Jimmy (one of the owners). He was so helpful over the phone and thus from afar. The SoundWave team overall was very professional and their pricing was on point. They had their song choice forms sent within a few hours of signing the contract, and when I was unsure about how to change up the special dance schedule (to change from ceremony dress to party dress), he provided great insight and advice.

Jimmy ended up DJing our wedding himself. He was super down to earth, listened to our hopes and dreams of building our own setlist and then when we realized our guest list included a large population of 60+ year-olds, we realized beyond the special dances, the reception music wasn't really for us. These people flew down to party with us – the least we could do was let Jimmy do his job and play the hits to please the crowd and get them moving.

Can't say enough great things about SoundWave! The customer service was fantastic - they were even able to make last minute changes to one of our major songs just a couple of days before the wedding without any problems! They played great music throughout the wedding - The whole time there were people on the dance floor having a great time! They were able to play all the songs requested by the crowd, even some very unique requests (my brothers requested for them to play a Game of Thrones soundtrack song and we all thought it was so great they were able to play it!). Everyone knows the DJ is the life of the party (they either make it or break it) and SoundWave made it a great night, many people were saying it was the best wedding they had gone to!!

After researching quite a few DJs I decided to go with Jimmy at Soundwave. It was the best decision ever! He felt out the crowd and played whatever was keeping people on the dance floor. We only had 15 people at the wedding but with the energy and dancing it felt like much more. The ceremony music and first dance/father daughter dance were exactly what I picked. He made our special day fun and exactly what we wanted. We also used his wife Joanna for video and she was such a pleasure to work with. I would 100% recommend Soundwave!

We used sound wave for our wedding this June and we have nothing but great things to say! My husband did a VERY DETAILED list of songs and we sent them over before hand and We couldn't have been happier with the way the evening went. Sean was our DJ and he was great about getting the wedding party in line and into the reception and making the rest of the night run super smooth between the speeches, cake cutting and bouquet toss and such. Sound was great, we heard all the songs we wanted too and got everyone our dancing and had such a great time! I was in contact with Jim beforehand and he was also great with communication and making us feel at ease and making everything run smooth! Would highly recommend!!

What makes a wedding? The atmosphere and quality of people in attendance! SoundWaves really is the best DJ service on the island - they helped create the fun and lively feel that we were looking for. They were so helpful throughout the planning process (dealing with my dozens of last minute little changes!) they were fun, our DJ made us feel comfortable and relaxed (introductions were great!) AND it was a party! Our dancefloor was full all night - she played the best music. Thanks for being an important part of our special day!

Our wedding planner recommended Soundwave, the reviews online were great and we decided to book with them. We were able to fill out all the forms of the type of music we wanted, I left a lot up to the DJ in the forms as I really wasn't that picky, I knew I did not want any organized dances (cupid shuffle, electric slide) but we wanted to dance the night away. Right before the wedding we finalized the specific songs, our cake cutting song was not even a song we were able to find anywhere but on YouTube, but they found it and were able to play it.
Day of the wedding: I can't say how awesome Shawna was! Absolutely amazing, she was high energy and was dancing with us and was nothing but spectacular. She shared her name with my Matron of honor and I think they became BFF's during the reception. One of the best parts of the night was when she played the DOOP song. We didn't think about playing it before the wedding, but our friends had the song on their phone, she just plugged the phone in and played it right from there. It meant so much to us and we didn't even realize how perfect that song was for the night. She took plenty of selfies which we thought were hilarious and she danced with the flower girls most the night on the deck. She also kept an eye out on me to see when I wanted to move on from the first dance, and the dance with my dad. Could not have asked for anything better!

We had DJ Shawna at our wedding on April 18th and she was absolutely AMAZING!!! She took the time to speak with us via email and phone calls prior to the wedding to get to know us and what music we like. She played all the music we requested…even some old school Spanish music for my parents.

We recently had DJ Sean from Soundwave at our wedding. He was awesome, played all the songs we requested and played the genre's we love the entire night. He coordinated every event in a perfect timetable and he got a great feel for the guests and their preferences and played right into it. We couldn't have asked for any better DJ then Sean, thank you so much for an amazing job and we would highly recommend him and Soundwave to anybody looking for the best DJ's on the island!!!

We used Soundwave (DJ Top Jimmy) for our April 11th wedding reception at The Reach, and could not be happier with our decision. We had a musician for cocktail hour and the transition was flawless. We provided a few must have songs, and he did such an amazing job reading the crowd. We had 47 people total with a wide age range, and he had everyone on the dance floor all night. We would highly recommend Soundwave and only wish that the night could have lasted longer.

Sound wave was recommended by our planning company, surprise in paradise and I couldn't be more thrilled. Dj shawna was FANTASTIC! She was incredible fun right from the start. She made great recommendations when it came to some awkward family moments with the groom and mom dance, when we found out last minute that his step mom also wanted to dance. She played everything we wanted, and everything that I didn't know that I wanted as well. It's like she read my iPod. Literally none of our guests could leave the dance floor. Joanna could not have been better! She captured every little moment on video without feeling intrusive! Her personality and energy are infectious and she is just so fun and comfortable to be around! Everyone there was so nice to work with. Ed who did the actual filming was very kind. He moved around without being noticed, taking just a few minutes with us after the ceremony to allow us to get back to our guests quickly. He was a pleasure to work with.

We hired SoundWave at the recommendation of our wedding planner (We've Got the Keys). We couldn't be any happier. Jimmy C followed everything we requested prior to the wedding including our play and do not play list (though I am sure some of my guests would have preferred he cut out my Brittney medley). Jimmy was able to keep the night fun and entertaining not only with his DJ skills, but also with the couple of comments he would make throughout the night that made my guests and I laugh. We would recommend hiring SoundWave.

My husband and I are from New Jersey and chose to have our destination wedding in Key West, Florida. I chose SoundWave as our DJ based on wedding wire reviews, Facebook videos of wedding receptions Dj'd by SoundWave, and a positive review from a bride who had used Jimmy at her wedding recently. We could not have been happier with our decision to have Jimmy as our DJ!!! I spoke to him on the phone to get an idea of his style and from our first conversation, he was super friendly and easygoing. He answered emails quickly, returned phone calls, gave suggestions for songs when we could not decide, and seamlessly tied together our musical requests. His no-fuss attitude made my husband and I feel comfortable and confident in his abilities to get everyone up and dancing all night at our wedding..and that is exactly what happened! His flawless transition from the mother/groom dance to 'Happy' got every single guest out of their seats and dancing the night away! He played an array of music genres and made the event a huge success. We cannot thank you enough Jimmy for being so easy to work with and so great at your job. My daughter and her future husband hired Spyder to be their DJ for their reception, what a wonderful DJ, he was very professional & he kept everything moving the entire night. The moment he started playing music for guests to dance, they were up and dancing. I do not think that there was a time that the dance floor was empty! His choice of music was spot on, we had guests that ranged in age from 78-5 years old and Everyone was up dancing until the very end of the reception.
I hired Joanna to do the video for my daughter's wedding, as this was a destination wedding we had events planned every evening. Joanna was able to customize a package for me that allowed us to have her for our Welcome Dinner, Catamaran Booze Cruise and the day of the wedding . She was great and the guests loved her! Joanna was professional and blended in so at times you did not even know that she was there filming. Everyone of our guests were excited that the events were being filmed and have asked me about getting a copy of the video when it is finished. Do not hesitate to use Soundwaves of Key West, they are great and worth it. Love you guys!

I am so completely happy with our choice to use SoundWave for our DJ services. They were responsive from the beginning and organized all the information we gave them incredibly well. The music was FANTASTIC and people danced right up until the venue shut down. Also, not being incredibly well versed in the order of weddings myself, our DJ was excellent at giving us cues for speeches and such to move the night along in a timely fashion. We are 100% happy with our choice!

We had an unexpected storm during our outdoor reception. DJ Jimmy played rain related songs to lighten the mood. He kept the mood light and the guests got up to dance in the middle of the storm. He followed our playlist and made the night the best! Joanna, the videographer, did an awesome job! We barely knew she was there. The highlight video she created makes me cry, laugh, and smile. I love it!!
