This was the best night we could have ever imagined! The crew at sound explosion especially DJ Chris are an unbelievable team that made our night better than we could have ever imagined. Amazing time at our wedding!!

Our experience with Sound Explosion for planning our wedding was so smooth from beginning to end. Everyone of our song requests were played and the music all night was so much fun to dance to. Couldn’t have asked for a better DJ!

We had Chris as our DJ for our wedding in June and we truly could not have asked for anything better. We still have people to this day raving about how great the DJ and the music was. Chris was super responsive during the entire process and everything went perfectly from the ceremony music, first dance, parent dances and keeping the guests on the dance floor all night. We also used their Photo Booth which was such a nice touch to have - we were sent home with a guest book of all of the photos taken that night! I highly recommend this company, we even have friends using the same DJ now for their wedding because they loved him so much.

Wedding DJ

We can’t thank Chris and Sound Explosion enough for making our wedding absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, Chris kept the energy high and the dance floor packed – our guests never stopped dancing. He read the crowd perfectly, played the best mix of music, and created such an amazing atmosphere. So many of our friends and family said it was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to, and that’s largely thanks to Chris. Amazing wedding DJ

We had the privilege of having Chris MC/ DJ our wedding and it was nothing short of amazing. He was extremely professional, accommodating and made us feel comfortable throughout the process. His song selections were perfect for the more intimate moments and was able to get the whole party up and dancing when it was time. Every guest had positive feedback when it came to the music. Expectational Service !

Sound Explosion provided my husband & I with excellent service on our wedding day . Justin was a wonderful Dj, taking song requests & making the party worth wild . We also rented a photobooth/stand that Amanda helped all friends and family use an operate . They set up our backdrop exactly how we pictured ! We had an amazing party that's take great music ! Definitely will be looking forward to using them again for events and parties !

Unbelievable lighting and photo booth experience!

I came to Sound Explosion with a request for bistro lighting at Houston Hall in West Village, for our wedding. I have to say, the whole team were absolutely fantastic. They were able to bring our vision for lighting alive, provide us with expert advice and deliver the lighting perfectly. To top it off, when we came to them with an extra request for a photo booth, they were able to provide us with competitive combined pricing and provide this service as well. I get the feeling that I could have come to them with any request, and they would have done their best to facilitate it, which, when planning a wedding, is such a nice feeling to have. Again, thanks so much to the whole team, absolute 5* service.

Excellent DJ

Mike performed as a DJ for our wedding reception and was a pleasure to work with. His easygoing nature made the process of booking, planning and executing painless and he took great efforts to go the extra mile. We were particularly impressed with the small, but important details he thought of and smoothed over, taking a lot of work out of our hands. We put together an eclectic list of songs to include, and Mike did a great job arranging and filling out the setlist in a way that made musical sense, provided dynamics and most importantly, was fun and got people dancing. We would not hesitate to hire Mike/Sound Explosion again and feel confident knowing he will do an amazing job.

Best DJ, best music!

Had the best experience with sound explosion and Mike Demaio, Lou Font and a phenomenal saxophonist who truly made the party. We received compliments all night in between dancing and sings that the selection of music was so, so good!!

couldn't be happier

My sister in law used them for her wedding and I couldn't imagine another DJ. Mike was accommodating, flexible, and got everything done without having us worry. He even made last minute adjustments to accommodate my guitar player the day before!! Seriously 10/10

Amazing DJ!!

We hired Mike from sound explosion to DJ our wedding. He was a 10/10!! He really listened to the kind of music we wanted to hear and played exactly that. Our wedding was epic!

I would hire DJ Mike DeMaio again in a heartbeat! I never got a chance to meet with him in person since since I live in the Midwest now, but I felt confident from our phone conversations that he understood the vibe I wanted for my September 2022 wedding in New Jersey, which was an epic, fun dance party. Well, it was exactly that! Many of our guests traveled from far away, and told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to - I know the music played a huge part in that. I was out on the dance floor for as long as I could be! The MC and saxaphone player were incredible, too, and made the night so much fun! I only have great things to say about them, and highly recommend them for your event!!

Initial conversations exceeding expectations

Firstly, my review is solely based on my conversations with Steve and the members of his team that I recently met at a bridal expo, rather than my experience with them as the hired production team for my cousins upcoming wedding. As maid of honor to a very relaxed and calm bride I was designated (ok, self appointed) as the point of contact for all vendors at the expo and anything wedding related in general. At the expo we met with 2 people from the company who were not only patient with answering my laundry list of questions but also enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. We gave them the vision for the wedding which is not the typical “high energy dance party” many weddings are and asked how music can be incorporated into a more sophisticated destination wedding where the atmosphere was more romantic and more of a large dinner party setting. rather than just say “we’ll play any music you want” and expecting us to swoon, they explained the entire process from picking songs, customizing the equipment set up to match the venue, and most importantly gave in depth answers on how they match their work force for the evening with the energy of the event to give you a completely customized experience. Later in the night I went back to ask more questions about incorporating live music in addition to the DJ and spoke with Steve. He was phenomenal. Just listening to me explain the vision for the wedding I knew he got the look and feel we were going for 100%. Most impressive I have to say is that in the days after the expo I got a phone call from Steve to follow up on our previous conversations. Any other vendor we met that night sent a very generic email just reintroducing themselves and asking if we were interested in setting up a meeting. The conversation truly was a pleasure. Steve offered so many suggestions and tips knowing that the bride wasn’t even committed to a decision on booking them yet! Not many vendors would be so quick to offer their help without a commitment to them. It was a no pressure conversation that truly didn’t feel like a sales pitch. Even if the bride and groom choose to go another direction with their entertainment this company already deserved a great review just based on the initial conversations we had.

DJ’ed our wedding

The best advice I got as a bride was to hire people you trust and let them do their job! Steven and sound explosion defined this perfectly. While I second guessed just about all of my decisions, Steven worked with us to give us the exact party we wanted. From scheduling to lights, everything was perfect. I think it’s also worth noting how well he worked with our venue and maitre d to make sure the whole event ran smoothly. We literally had to worry about nothing. There were a few last minute details to work out and Steven took care of everything. After watching our wedding video, we had even further appreciation for how incredible Steven was. He kept the energy up, people on the dance floor and read the crowd expertly.
To us, music was in the top three most important decisions and we absolutely made the right choice with Steven and Sound Explosion.

Excellent DJ Service

To say we are picky when it came to picking a DJ was an understatement after literally looking up every DJ within our area we stumbled upon Mike DeMaio and knew right away it was exactly what we wanted. Everything from the initial interaction to the day of our event we felt catered to and were dealt with very professionally. The music was amazing, the additional lights and indoor sparkers only added to an already amazing night. To top it all off Mike was able to find us a photobooth and a person to work it for NYE literally 24 hours before our event, when we lost our photobooth due to covid. Overall it was an absolute pleasure dealing with Mike and the Sound Explosion team. Highly Recomment.

The best of the best!!

Sound explosion made my wedding unforgettable! Mike and Jeremy were awesome! Mike was easy to work with and listened to all of my requests. They handled music through the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Mike played the perfect mix of music for the crowd. Everyone from age 2 to 90+ was on the dancefloor the entire night. All of my guests are still talking about how it was the most fun wedding they've ever attended. Jeremy arranged one of the most memorable, hilarious garter tosses, it was incredible! The lights and video screen were awesome. Within a week of my wedding they sent me 200 photos they took throughout the night which were also shown on the screens. Everything was great and we had the time of our lives! Thank you Mike and Jeremy!!!

Loved Sound Explosion Event Group!

Mike DeMaio and Eric Bischoff from SE Event group truly made our wedding fantastic! They provided music & equipment for both our ceremony and reception and were incredibly easy and friendly to work with. Our guests were dancing pretty much all night thanks to their music & MC'ing. They also remained incredibly flexible through two wedding date reschedules and one time change. I would absolutely recommend them for events!

Above and Beyond! You Will Not Be Disappointed!

We had a small wedding (~30 people, no dancing) due to COVID restrictions so we weren't really considering a DJ - just a few Spotify playlists. After speaking with Mike on the recommendation of the venue to order a speaker, we were convinced that he was trustworthy and we would probably be better off using him. Boy, were we right! Mike honoured our request to play our playlists, but also - with our approval - mixed in his own great selections. He paced the evening extremely well, playing both the processional and recessional, and doing first dance and speech introductions. On top of it all, he helped with the venue setup / clean-up and general coordination - and only charged us a fraction of what he normally would have. Mike and Sound Explosion are, simply put, amazing. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Best of the best!

We couldn't be more thrilled with Sound Explosion! Mike and Steve DeMaio and their whole team were phenomenal during our October 25 wedding. Our guests were out on the dance floor the entire time and are still raving about how great the music was. Even our venue said that our DJ setup was the best they had ever seen. Mike was so patient and communicative with us through our four (!) wedding date postponements this year, and we are so grateful!

Best Entertainment

My husband and I decided on Sound Explosion for our wedding music. We had no idea how great of a decision that would turn out to be. Mike was by far the most entertaining DJ I have ever witnessed. He had my husband, our guests and I dancing all night! My father who had two herniated discs was on the dance floor for hours. People have been telling me almost two months after my wedding still what a great time they had and that they never danced so much! He was so wonderful to work with also. He took the time to hear out our requests and made sure he left no detail unnoticed. We recommend him and sound explosion immensely! Thank you Mike!

Surpassed our every expectation!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!! We TRULY could not be more thankful for how incredible Sound Explosion was for our wedding day. Since the moment we met with Mike DeMaio, we felt totally comfortable and confident that he knew exactly the vibe we were going for on our wedding day. We told him we wanted lots of dancing and gave him an idea of some genres we liked. We didn’t even have to say much, because he was basically able to read our minds and knew exactly what we wanted after just a few words. We are not the most traditional, so we didn’t want to spend a lot of time on entrances, speeches and first dances. Mike assured us that he would be able to get through all of that stuff quickly so that we can start the dance party that we had dreamed of! I seriously cannot put into words how truly EPIC that dance party was. Every single seat was empty and the dance floor was packed all night long. He played for three hours straight!! I can honestly say we have never seen that at a wedding, and we’ve been to about 20 in the past few years. We knew Mike would be an awesome DJ from the start, but he totally surpassed our every expectation. Our guests could not stop raving about how incredible Mike was and how much fun our wedding was. Guests of all ages were having the time of their lives. We were so happy that Mike played songs they all knew and loved. So many of our guests (and staff at the venue!) told me that they’ve never seen a bride dance so much in their lives. If that’s not enough to make you book Sound Explosion & Mike DeMaio RIGHT NOW for your wedding day, we even had a few guests say goodbye to us, just to find them on the dance floor again ten minutes later because they just could not stay away from the dance floor. Amazing experience from start to finish!

Planning a wedding is hard enough but having no idea where to begin makes it seem impossible. Searching for a wedding DJ was giving me anxiety because none of the companies I met with felt right; that was until my first meeting with Mike DeMaio. I knew right away that he was perfect for my vision and that I had to book him and Sound Explosion for my wedding!
Mike knew exactly what I was looking for, even when I didn't. He spent a lot of time going back and forth with me (emails, texts, phone calls), reviewing all of my wedding details, providing wonderful suggestions, and making the planning as simple as possible. The professionalism and overall kindness was beyond what I imagined.
Day of my wedding, Sound Explosion arrived early to set up and discuss final details with myself and the venue. They worked wonderfully with all my other vendors and they made certain that I had nothing to worry about. Everything was handled beautifully on their part. My wedding was exactly as I had envisioned and a lot of that is due to the Sound Explosion team!! Mike DeMaio, Eric, and the guys from Sound Explosion were down-to-earth, a ton of fun, and overall, absolutely fantastic!
They are 100% the only Event Group I plan on booking and recommending for all future events.

Where do I even begin?! From the minute we booked Sound Explosion, Mike, Eric and their crew were beyond amazing. They made us feel extremely comfortable and like family from day one. Every expectation we had of our big day was surpassed In an amazing way. They went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was absolute perfection. Mike DeMaio is AMAZING!!! He had everyone up on the dance floor the entire night! There was not a single moment that the dance floor wasn’t full. The music was amazing. The set up was amazing. The sparklers were amazing. Book them now! Best decision ever

When my husband and I started this wedding process, we had no idea what we were doing or looking for. We relied heavily on recommendations and when my MOH recommended Sound Explosions, I set up a meeting.

Turns out, their business was 5 min from my house and that we all even had mutual friends. Small world. It broke the ice immediately, but even if it hadnt, Mike and Steven made everything super comfortable anyway.

We met a couple times to discuss and it was always easy. They listened to what I wanted, dealt with my over organized personality with a smile, and understood us as a couple.

Frankly, we were not conventional. The weirder or more unique something was, the better. From asking Steven to not wear black (which he didn't), playing uncommon ceremony songs to giving a sample playlist mainly consisting of reggae, Sound Explosions came through. They did exactly as we asked, and really allowed us to have a great party.

Steven kept the party going, was lively, on time, and dressed to the nines. Several times I actually went to thank him for coming because he fit in as a guest so well. The mirror photo booth was a huge hit, and the staff even danced along all time. The next day when we went back to the venue, the staff told us we had the best wedding and that they were dancing to the music on the sidelines. In the end, Steven came through we exchanged hugs because well, we family now!

Bottom Line: Great prices, great customer service, great music, and overall a great time! Book them now!

Outstanding

Music makes the party and for my wedding mike Demaio and sound explosion did not disappoint. They were so professional listening to any and all requests we had, I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to run away from a picture or my guests because my song came on! All my guests keep talking about how amazing the music was, the dance floor was packed all night. They also took a ton of awesome pictures that night which was great to look over while at our honeymoon. Mike Dimaio and sound explosion is a no brainer, they just know what they are doing, they really make the party. My wedding reception would not have been the same without them. Oh, not to mention the incredible mapping mike did behind us during our reception, you have to ask him about this. He’s the only person around offering this service my venue kept telling me how awesome it was and they have never seen it before.

Amazing DJ company

Sound Explosion is the best in the business hands down! From the start Mike DeMaio just clicked with us and knew exactly what we were looking for. He is so personable and really makes sure to do everything you ask for down to every little last detail & request. The music was absolutely amazing! Almost a month later and we still have everyone telling us how it was the best weddings they've been too and how much they loved our DJ. Everyone was up dancing the entire night. My husband and I did not sit down once the entire night! The Photo Booth was perfect and so much fun for all of our guests (including us). The night was a nonstop party just how we imagined for it to be thanks to Mike, and Sound Explosion. They took pictures the entire night and they came out amazing as well. Im so glad we choose them!

Incredible experience!

Words cannot begin to describe the incredible experience that we had with Mike DeMaio & Steve of Sound Explosion! We first were introduced to them at a Bridal Expo in the Spring of 2018. Their level of class, professionalism, and fun-loving energy was evident from the moment they began their showcase. We had a full vision of the vibe that we wanted for our August 10,2019 wedding and were put at ease during our conversations with DJ Mike DeMaio. He took the time to fully understand the variety of music that we wanted to ensure that all of our guests had an amazing time. Everyone danced the entire night and we received countless phone calls and text messages the days following our wedding asking who the DJ company was because it was the BEST party they ever went to! The drummer was unbelievable and truly pumped up the party. We were also provided with beautiful photos from the zap shots that Mike's team took throughout the night. We are thrilled with our decision to book Sound Explosion for our wedding and highly recommend them to any couple who is looking for a DJ company that goes above and beyond for the ultimate wedding experience!

Hire Mike Right Now!!!

I first met Mike at a wedding expo in the city and I immediately knew he was the right fit for our wedding. We were dragging our feet on finding a DJ because most DJs we spoke to couldn't even tell me what their favorite music was! On the contrary, I immediately felt comfortable with Mike. He was personable and professional and throughout the experience continued to provide us info without feeling pressured to make a decision.
On the day of the wedding, Mike, Steve and the rest of the team were dedicated to making the day nothing short of spectacular. Their fairy lights were beautiful and something special I had not seen at other weddings before. They showed up early to get everything set up and organized. Throughout the reception, they felt the room and played all the crazy requests our families and friends brought up. The photobooth we booked with them was of course a hit, and they even gave us a beautiful book full of photobooth photos at the end of the night! Finally, they helped us hire a violinist, Arsenio, who was the perfect addition to our wedding ceremony. (He even played the Jurassic Park theme song for me to walk down the aisle to!) The team truly wants to bring your vision to life and will work with you in any direction you want to take it. Overall, you will not be disappointed with booking with Mike DeMaio and team!!

Spectacular

This is by far hands down the best DJ company out there. Nothing short of spectacular, they had my whole crowd up and dancing the entire night. They played great music and were so attentive, they absolutely blew everybody away. I would recommend them to anybody for any occasion. They are absolutely phenomenal!

Hire them ASAP! You won't regret it!

Finding a DJ and MC was very important for my husband and myself since we were envisioning a hell of a party for our wedding so finding the right vendor within our budget with great stars was a task BUT luckily, we found Sound Explosion! You won't regret it. We worked with Mike DeMaio as our MC and Neil Beats as DJ. I can't deny that we were a bit specific with our music choices since we wanted a mix of Greek, polka, pop, Latin, and general hits for our family. THEY HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD! Everyone was dancing and it was such a blast. Not only that, Mike was so fun, made everyone have a great time, and he did such a great job with our introductions. He was very understanding and super easy to communicate with.

Not only did Sound Explosion DJ and MC for us, they provided us with a photobooth, photobooth attendant, LOVE Marquee Sign AND ceremony musicians. They were very understanding and reasonable when working with our budget which we TRULY appreciated since we were not getting any help from anybody. Photobooth was a hit as usual.

The ceremony musicians were even a last minute question but they were able to help us. We were considering just using a speaker but then my husband said he preferred musicians. We asked Sound Explosion if they knew anyone and they were able to set us up with 2 musicians for a violinist and cellist for 1.5 hours. We are eternally grateful for helping us throw such a magical wedding day from beginning to end!

The best!

Our wedding was October 5, 2018 and one of the best decisions we made was hiring Sound Explosion. Eric and his team were absolutely amazing the night of the wedding. We received so many compliments on how great our DJ was. The music is such a big part of a wedding and SE exceeded our expectations! The dance floor was packed all night long. I gave Eric little direction and he absolutely nailed it. I also gave Eric a list of requests from all different genres of music and he managed to play them all! We also hired a percussionist through SE. He was AMAZING and so much fun! He interacted with the guests. Such a great touch. I would 100% recommend SE!!

Our experience with this group was absolutely amazing!! Steven and his crew did a fabulous job making our day so special! They were familiar with our venue which made it super simple in our decision making process. We also LOVED all the suggestions they made especially regarding lighting at the venue and the mirror photo booth to make our day even more amazing! We also had a violinist during our cocktail hour that was absolutely INSANE! Steven worked the crowd all night and even serenaded my grandma to her favorite party song! We know we couldn't of made a better choice and appreciate how much they were a part of making our BIG DAY so special!! We love you guys!!!

We loved Sound Explosion! Mike was a blast to work with: quick responses, honest and open. One of the highlights of our wedding was having DJ Mike and his team a part of our day. Mike DeMaio recently did my wedding out in Pennsylvania. We were extremely happy with him and his amazing staff. Before the wedding Mike met with us several times to ensure our requests were met. He was extremely professional and prudent. The set up at the wedding was great and kept the entire night running smooth. We needed to make a few last minute adjustments during the night and it was all easily taken care of by Mike and his staff. We will definitely be using Sound Explosion for future events.

We got married this past weekend and used Mike DeMaio and the Sound Explosion team as our DJ. We are soooo happy that we did because everything was absolutely amazing! Everybody was up dancing and multiple guests came up to us throughout the night saying that the DJ was awesome and the music was great. People are still calling us saying that we had the best wedding with the best music. They played music from every genre that kept our guests dancing the whole night and we are so thankful! We also added the photobooth which was a huge hit! Every time i looked it was packed with people and everybody loved it. Mike did a great job with the lighting because the room looked insane and it matched the music he was playing perfectly. He even had it say our names on the wall which was a pretty nice touch. We used sound explosion for our November wedding and were completely satisfied. My husband is a real music critic and was adamant about having good music at the wedding. Well low and behold, the dance floor was packed! And they read the crowd- mainly we wanted alot of oldies and we got it:) the ceremony recap was amazing and the djs kept the party moving along all night. I especially appreciated the little extras like my husband and I kissing by our cake with rock music playing, their photographer taking extra photos and really catering to the crowd. I would definitely recommend sound explosion for a good party:) thanks!

I was married 10/8 and Billy was absolutely one of my favorite vendors to work with planning my wedding! If ever I was nervous or had anxiety about anything he kept reminding me how wonderful and fun the wedding was going to be. Billy and his team turned our night into an epic party!! I never imagined having so much fun especially being the bride and groom when there's so many places you have to be, the guests and us had an amazing time!
Working with Billy you can customize the kinda night you want. We omitted a lot of the "traditional" customs such as bouquet/garter toss, and Billy was there with us putting together every detail.
We got 2 flat screens for the photo montage and it couldn't have been a bigger hit, our guests loved the trip down memory lane.
People are still talking about how much fun they had at the photo booth, and you're given a disk with all the photos taken on it so you don't miss anything.
I could go on and on about how wonderful Billy and Sound Explosion are to work with, and I would chose them again in heartbeat!

From the moment i met Billy, I knew he would do an amazing job on my wedding day! He was so accomodating and helpful. Any time i had any questions or wanted to change things in my package he always responded promptly and helped me make any changes i wanted. I also provided Billy with a very specific list of songs that i wanted played and he played every single one. I could not be happier with my choice in DJ and production company! Mike & Steve made planning a breeze! They were extremely helpful and made sure everything went smoothly on my wedding day. I wanted my wedding to be an experience for my guest. Sound Explosion was able to help me create that for my guest. I wanted something different than flower centerpieces so they decorated my tables with beautiful crystal chandelier & candlelabra centerpiece with warm lighting that lit up the room and looked elegant and stunning! The music was also amazing! From the drummer to the music they played, my guest literally danced the night away before dinner was even served! It’s been 2 weeks since the wedding and our friends and family are still raving about how it was the best wedding ever! I really owe it to Mike & Steve for making it a memorable night! If you want good vibes and a memorable wedding than I highly recommend you to go with Sound Explosion!

We used Sound Explosion Event Group for a handful of services for our wedding, and our DJ Mike DeMaio and MC Tunde were fantastic. The music from Mike was on point, and Tunde was full of energy. The dance floor was full all night, and everyone told us they had a great time. We also used their photo booth service - we opted for a new system called Mirror Booth, which was different from the traditional photo booth. It was a bit more complicated to use since people were not used to it, and there were no clear instructions on where to look, etc., but overall we got a handful of fun photos from our guests to look back on. Additionally, Mike helped us book our ceremony violin soloist, Arsenio, who was great to work with as well. I had a special request for which song I would walk down the aisle to, and Arsenio eagerly learned the music and had it down pat for the wedding. During the planning process prior to the wedding, Mike was super responsive to all the questions that we had and awesome to work with. We highly recommend Mike and his team at Sound Explosion!

We used Sound Explosion for our special day this past weekend on June 9, 2017 and WOW. We had Mike and his team for our special day from ceremony, to cocktail, and everything for reception. From the very beginning Mike helped me with everything i needed or didn't understand. The week prior he was in contact with me everyday making sure we had everything finalized and ready to go. On the big day, they brought more than i could have imagined. We used uplighting, photo booth, gobo, fog machine, and them as our DJ and it was spectacular. All of our guests could not stop talking about how great the entire team was, along with Mike keeping the crowd going. We had a slight problem with our photo booth because it was new, but Mike was so great it helping everyone out and getting me all of the photos to my guests just two days later! They added little things here and there that just added to our special moment. They really kept up with our personalities for music and our dance floor was never empty. Thank you all again for making our special day great!!

Mike DeMaio was our wedding Dj for our May 7th 2017 wedding held at the Watermark in Asbury Park. We met him at the LGBT Wedding Expo in early 2016 and he was very approachable especially in comparison to other dj's that were there who were really overbearing. We made an appointment to meet with him at his location in Staten Island a few weeks later and explained to him what our taste in music was (early 2000s). He was really laid back, as we are, so we booked him right away. It was really easy since everything was done online. Closer to the wedding he was easy to communicate with and went over everything with us over the phone (music and the order of events) so I felt confident that we didn't have to worry about music. The day of the wedding everything went smoothly. Our guests had soooo many compliments about the music and it's def 'coz Mike really understood what we were looking for. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!!

As a professional violinist for over 20 years I have to say that Neil and Billy are the best that there is when it comes to making a couple happy on their wedding day. my wife and i where just married last week and Niel and Billy did everything in their power to make our day a special one. The whole team at Sound Explosion is the best in New York hands down! What makes them better then anyone else is their amazing Love Sign!!! our photographers took some pretty amazing pictures infront of the sign. Also i must add how their LED lights brightened up our entire hall. my wife is obsessed with the color mint green and Neil provided that for us!!! I know from experience how music can either hurt a wedding or make it the most memorialable night in a persons life. Words can not describe how happy my wife and I are after choosing sound explosion! Our wedding was this Saturday and we are still tired from all the dancing!! From the minute we met with Billy we knew our party was in great hands. Mike helped with some amazing elements like the ghost sweetheart table , logo projection and photobooth. Billy kept our dance floor packed the entire night. I was married March 25, 2017 at South Gate Manor and I want to begin by saying that I have never written a review before. Sound Explosions is the best decision you can make about your wedding! They will help you from start to finish through the entire process to make sure your wedding is over your expectations. Their music, lighting, presentation, professionalism, suggestions, decor, help, immediate responses, etc. made the most important day of my life SO much easier on me. DJ Neil helped me through the whole process. When I walked in I was clueless about exactly how everything went. He made me feel comfortable and at ease. He sat there for hours to help me with choosing songs, who to dance with, the reception entrance, the first dance song, the video montage- everything you can think of to the last detail. DJ Mike DeMaio was amazing! He was always there answering questions, following up, calling to confirm details and making sure every need was met and we were 100% satisfied. I never once had to worry about anything music or entertainment related going even slightly wrong with this team. They were on top of every detail. The day of my wedding they were both there, along with Ryan taking beautiful pictures, and everything went amazingly perfect.
I would highly recommend this team to EVERYONE. They are such great people to work with and made what could be a complicated process SO smooth. I have never received so many compliments before and have never been more happy with an outcome before. By far the easiest process and most satisfied outcome of the best day of my life!!!

Sound explosion amazed us for our wedding 03/11/17 at the Ashford Estate in Allentown, NJ. We couldn't be happier with the results from Neil Pontecorvo and Mike Demaio.
We aren't good with song or artist names, we kinda just hummed or terribly tried to sing a song as Neil pulled from his library song after song that he thought we were trying to recall. Amazingly enough he always got it.
We were unsure what songs we wanted for the spotlight dances and looked to Neil for insite. He sat with us playing sample song after song until we decided on one, really he made the whole selection process so easy.
I'm half Pakistani and half Italian and wanted some fun Pakistani music in the mix... I emailed Neil a few Pakistani songs I'm sure he never heard before and I can't even explain how amazing the mixes were. Every person was on the dance floor regardless of their ethnicity, because it was a perfect mixture of Paki and American beats.
Neil mixed everything up and did an excellent job while Mike killed it MCing. It felt so personal and intimate. I truly felt like a guest at my own wedding.
We laid out an outline of what we liked and let him plan the rest. And we got compliments on the music from every age group of guests at our wedding. We ended up giving sound explosions name to a bunch of guests who texted us the day after our wedding and even while we were on our honeymoon.
The day of the wedding they were there early to set up, and stayed 12 hours later killing it up until the last moment of the after party.
We ordered our photo booth from them and it was such a hit. It was one outside of the booth so everyone could fit inside, and you could watch your pose as the camera counted down. Also they provided a photographer who photographed our guests the whole day, and all photos were printed and provided to guests before the after party began.
We had a great experience, Could not have gone better, we thoroughly recommend Neil and Mike from sound explosion!

Not even sure where to begin but to say STOP researching and go with Sound Explosion for your wedding DJ/MC!!!! Phenomenal crew!! Never a dull moment of dancing. I knew Neil Pontecorvo was the right choice from the moment I met him at a bridal show. I asked one question about music and the convo continued so effortlessly. By the end he knew exactly what I wanted. I am a dancer and music was most important to me (next to food). The music at the reception flowed perfectly- so obviously, we spoke, he listened!!! Add Mike Demaio to the mix for your MC and everything will be taken care of- no doubt!! We do not have a negative thing to say.
Our first dance we were "Dancing in the clouds" (aka smoke machine) which is a great way to get some unique pics. We added the solo violinist to our cocktail hour; had the fantastic/energetic percussionist for the reception---big hit and a must have-- and included the LOVE marquee sign at the last minute with no regrets to that decision at all. The pics with that sign in the background are so unique and beautiful. (And now we keep hearing how everyone loved the sign and asked where we got the idea from---Neil!!)
Stop looking and just book them!!

Everything with Mike DeMaio and DJ Neil Pontecorvo exceeded our expectations. We were hesitant about going with a DJ for the Ryland, but we are so happy we did! They knew just when to transition the music and played based on the crowd! I didn't have to write down every single song I wanted, but he was sure to play everything I had mentioned. He also made it very easy to get in touch with him, and made him self available to discuss and meet, in the beginning and the end. We were also worried about snow, being that we got married in the Winter, and he also put all our worries to rest. We would definitely recommend him to any of our friends!!!

Great job by Eric, Marvin and the entire team at Sound Explosion. The dance floor at my daughter's wedding was never empty. Rave reviews from all my guests. If you're looking for someone with years of experience, easy to work with, thorough, and very professional- need not look any further. Mike DeMaio at Sound Explosion really came through to make my wedding day flawless. Not only did he find us a specific keyboard we were looking to have, but also provided ample microphones and speakers. He also listened to us and took into consideration our song preferences, unique dance/eating timeline, but also incorporating friends and family on the mic. He was down for it all. Very easy to work with and accommodating!

?? When I got engaged in 2014, a friend of mine referred us to Billy with Sound Explosion. We were newly engaged and knew our wedding would be fall 2016. When we were going to meet with him, we were excited but not necessarily positive we were ready to book. However as soon as we arrived at the appointment, we knew we found our DJ! His energy is contagious and really gets you even more excited! He was flexible with making appointments and making decisions. We signed our contract and two years later went back to finalize everything. We met with him the Tuesday before the wedding, and again his energy and excitement were contagious! He made us that much more excited about our entrance and all our special songs! Billy really made our wedding more fun! He worked with our best man to put a "parental advisory" sign on the screens, made the Backstreet Boys fit into a set at the wedding, and played the best mix of music to keep all our guests (of all ages!) on the dance floor all night! He was truly an asset to making my wedding flow effortlessly and making it the best night of my life! It's been over about 2 weeks now, and my husband and I watch our Same Day Edit (recommended by Billy to do) and our Bridal Party Entrances videos everyday because we are just so in love with how everything came together, and we couldn't have done it without Billy and Sound Explosion's help!

Don't hesitate to book with them Steve and Vinny did an amazing job at our wedding our family and guests danced all night long they played our song list and read the crowd and played an awesome variety of music for all decades. October 5, 2016 was The New York Police & Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund's Annual Gala. It is our largest fundraising event of the year and Mike Demaio did an amazing job. We loved working with him and his team! It was our first time working with him and he was very flexible to work with as we had to switch locations at the last minute. He was professional and personable. We greatly appreciate all that he did to contribute to the Gala's success. We recommend him to anyone. Thank you Mike!

Mike and the Sound Explosion Team transformed my wedding into a truly spectacular event! We decided to go with a wedding package including photobooth, up-lighting and DJ (as well as many other perks) and I couldn't be more glad that I did! This was the first time sound explosions had worked at my venue, and the guests, myself AND the venue staff were raving about them all night. The dance floor was PACKED the entire night! Even as the bride, I couldn't bring myself to leave the dance floor, and was able to relax an really enjoy my wedding.

Definitely book this team! Best and easiest vendor I worked with for the event, and you wont be disappointed!

We booked DJ Neil Pontecorvo for our wedding. As soon as we did, we knew we made the right decision. We had met with other DJs and companies that were very pushy or had a "cookie-cutter" vision for our wedding. Neil worked with us every step along the way to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. He made sure our dreams became a reality and nothing was done that would be considered less than perfect. For the event, he provided great uplighting, moving heads, amazing icicle lighting for the ceiling, a great photobooth and a "LOVE" marquee sign that everyone wanted to take a picture with. The reception itself was truly every newlywed's wish. Between Neil playing great music and the MC Mike Demaio making sure everyone was having a good time, the dance floor was packed all night. These guys did a great job, and we would recommend them to anyone! Do yourselves a favor and book with Neil and the SEE team.

Mike DeMaio is the best DJ/MC in the NY/NJ/CT/PA area. You will not find a more professional, relatable, knowledgeable, gay and lesbian friendly, attentive entertainer for your event than Mike. I am a very demanding consumer but Mike D delivered ten-fold. His caliber of service surpassed my expectations. He made our wedding the hottest party going in N.Y. on Sunday, September 18!

Mike is not only easy to talk to but his confidence in his ability is delivered when he DJs your event. Mike makes himself available months prior to your event to help you develop your vision. Mike allows you to create the vision of the event, including sound and lighting effects, without being pushy or telling you that something would be difficult. If you want a Cinderalla wedding, Mike will deliver it. Many of my guests complimented Mike and how professional, yet low-key he was. Mike's approach is cool, calm and collected. Mike to make your event a success without any hiccups and during your event adds a personal touch by referring to you in a respectful manner.

Also notable is that Mike was dressed in a suit at my wedding. That was appreciated because he does not stick out like a sore thumb in photos. Your professional photographers will appreciate his attire. Mike was actually dressed better than some of our guests!

In closing, we were very impressed by Mike. I cannot say enough good things about him. Thank you Sound Explosion for assigning Mike DeMaio to my wedding!

We tremendously enjoyed working with Mike and the whole team at Sound Explosion! The music and the emcee can have a big impact on your wedding. Mike handled everything very well. Let's get into some specifics:

Pre-wedding planning: Mike was very easy to work with. He never rushed us through the planning and asked good questions to clarify the details. He was very accommodating of special requests and had good ideas for how to handle different parts of the reception. Most importantly, Mike is a great listener and takes the time to get to know you so that his music and presentation work well for your personalities.

Cost and Value: Sound Explosion is roughly in the ballpark for what you'd expect to pay for a wedding DJ in the greater New York City area. They typically have multiple staff people who show up -- an MC and a DJ for all packages and an impromptu photographer for others. Splitting the DJ's work from the MC makes a big difference. This made it easier to find us ahead of important moments (cake cutting, introductions, toasts, etc.) while keeping the music going.

Emcee work: Mike was exceptional on the microphone. He knew how to work the crowd, direct traffic, provide announcements, and set up our special moments. Our wedding party included quite a few people with foreign names, but he pronounced everything perfectly. Above all of that, we were very impressed with Mike's ability to improvise and think on his feet. He noticed that our toasts were running longer than expected, so he broke them up into two sessions at different points of the night. That did a lot to keep the crowd interested. Mike was great about checking in and adding all he could.

DJ work: They spun some great tunes! All of our requests were included. When they got the crowd up to dance, we remember wondering if we had sent in a playlist -- because they played exactly what we wanted to hear without our even asking for it.

Overall, it was an awesome wedding!

Billy and his crew were absolutely amazing! We had a vision for our wedding that Billy brought to life. From the first day we sat in the office to the day of the wedding, everything was perfect. Mike and Neil are the best! They made our special day just that: special. I was a bit of a pain and kept emailing Neil with a million questions. He answered me very quickly with the answers I needed. He played all of the music I asked for. Mike was very attentive and kept checking up on my husband and I to make sure we were having fun. He also made sure my other guests were having a good time.

I would highly recommend this duo for your wedding day. Two thumbs up!

If I could give Sound Explosion 100 stars I would! Bill and Joe had done our wedding July 3, 2016, they went above and beyond our expectations. Every request we had put in prior to the day they granted. Its a month later and I still have my friends saying how great of a time they had. The energy in the room was insane, the music was amazing, and the drummer Faruk was PHENOMENAL! It added a extra special touch, he had my 3 year old daughter up there with him all night he got into the crowd as well and the whole party went crazy. I cant say enough great things, Bill made us feel like family and made sure everything we wanted we had received. Thank you soo much Bill, Joe, and Faruk you made our day one we will never forget.

What can I say about these guys that hasn't been said already in all of the other positive reviews (I'm not surprised). When you think of a great wedding reception you think of three main things: setting, food, and music. The latter of the three is what really makes or breaks your wedding. These guys KILLED IT...they had the whole place lit from start to finish...I had people dancing the whole time. And we had a VERY ethnically diverse crowd...they really put the time and care into making sure my family (Russian/Jewish,Italian,Portuguese) was very well accommodated with the music selection. They played everything from "my yiddishe mama" to "la chata mi cantare" to "romeo santos" and more and they made it work!!!! They fed off the vibe and worked the crowd. Besides the music, Dj Neil Pontecorvo and MC Mike Demaio were soooo professional and they really made you feel like they were part of the family there. Our wedding reception, definitely didn't go according to plan...started late and the timeline was all screwed up. If it wasn't for Mike and Neil's quick thinking, our first dance, mom/son & father/daughter dances along with the speeches would have all been out of wack. And in addition to this, they had their photographer taking photos and vid the whole time, and another gentleman overseeing the photo booth set up (which was awesome). Neil and Mike really care about what they do and crafting the experience you are looking for r on your wedding day...needless to say I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. This was a memory of a lifetime and these guys provided the soundtrack for that memory....Neil, Mike, and the rest of the people at Sound Explosion...a BIG THANK YOU... Love, Mo and Al 8/6/2016!

My husband and I hired Mike to DJ at our wedding. I am West Indian and my husband French. We were looking for someone to cater to both cultures. After interviewing a few people, we decided to go with Mike and it was the best decision we made. It was easy working with Mike as he was very personable. On the day of the wedding Mike delivered and went above and beyond our expectations. He catered to both our cultures, and our guests loved the music. Everyone was on the dance floor from the first dance song to the last. He was also very accommodating during the reception and ensured that everything was going according to plan. We received numerous compliments on our DJ. Additionally, Mike was a team player and worked well with our other vendors. I keep referring him to my friends and family and will be hiring Mike the next time we have a function.

When i first spoke with Eric, I shared that my fiancé and I wanted a party. We wanted our guests to have an enjoyable time on the dance floor. He played all of my song requests and made special announcements for our guests. We had an outdoor ceremony and I was concerned that the guests would not hear the readings and officiant. I had nothing to worry about - everybody was able to hear the ceremony perfectly. Eric worked with my choices of music for the ceremony as well. Days after the wedding, guests contacted me to tell me what a great time was had. EVERYBODY complemented the DJ. The dance floor was packed almost the whole night. I HIGHLY recommend Sound Explosion. Great people to work with and they helped make my night magical!

From the moment we met with Mike at Sound Explosion we know with out a doubt that we would be using their services for our wedding. Through out the planning he was available to answer all of my questions promptly. On our final meeting we turned in son request sheet and Neil made it all work. Mike and Neil had everyone on this dance floor all night long. All throug the night and after the wedding everyone told us how much fun the night was. The lighting that they did really enhanced our venue and the photo booth is highly recommended. My husband and I loved looking at all the photos the next morning. We highly recommend sound explosion and will definitely be using their services in the future.

Great DJ/MC! Music was perfect and he read the crowd well. He added the perfect touch of lighting to enhance the views of the room and make our venue even more elegant. We also added a photo booth which was enjoyed by all. Everyone complimented Eric and his entire team all night and afterwards.

My mother hired Sound Explosion and Steve DeMaio to DJ our engagement party. He did such a great job that we hired him and Sound Explosion for our wedding reception on April 9, 2016 at the Old Bermuda Inn. We had 2 TVs, uplighting, smart LEDs, and the classic photobooth. He was our favorite (and most fun) vendor to work with throughout this whole wedding planning process. He offered great music suggestions and didn't play the typical music you hear at every wedding. He listened to what we liked and tailored our reception to our music style. The prices were very fair and he even threw in a few things. He offered great advice and was always available to answer any questions we had. We had a great time at our wedding. We will definitely using them again for any events we have in the future. From our first meeting till the last dance Sound Explosion was extremely professional and a delight to work with. Every special request was executed and all of our guests loved every minute of the night.

There are so many DJ companies out there but when i met Sound Explosion at a wedding event, i felt the most comfortable with them. They are so professional with their services and great team of people. Billy, our DJ and MC for the night was just outstanding and he made us and our guests dance the whole night! He was also helpful with the selection of songs and the overall wedding planning. They do this all the time so they went over and beyond our expectations. We also used their photobooth and it was a success! Our guests had so much fun! Keep up with the good work!

Steve & Steve Dj'd our wedding. Our Dance Floor was packed from start to finish. Everyone loved them, young and old. We have quite a big family and there are several weddings coming up. Our cousins have already said they are booking them for their wedding. I had soo much fun, I never wanted the day to end. All our special surprises and dances where perfectly orchestrated. The system they used sounded amazing. Everyone was impressed by them. I would recommend them to everyone!!!
