The best band!!!

Truly the best decision!! Nate and his team are so talented and incredible musicians. Nate went above and beyond to make our night extra special. We had people coming up to us all night talking about how absolutely amazing the band was. Working with Philly Soul Patch was a pleasure and I would recommend to anyone!

Made our wedding dreams come true!

From the first phone call, to the last song, Soul Patch Philly were an absolute joy. We could not recommend them highly enough - you must hire them for your event!

Nate and the band were so professional, a breeze to work with, and made sure our day felt like us. They went above and beyond to cater to our day and everything went seamlessly.

All of our guests said how brilliant the band were, with many saying they were the best band they had ever seen at a wedding - the party did not stop!

My Wedding Reception was like a concert!

We chose Soul Patch for our wedding because we enjoy funk, R&B, and Motown music and because the samples on their website sounded great. They were very professional and accommodating and even learned our special songs for partner/parent dances. I am not a dancer but I danced pretty much the whole reception as if I was at a concert. Amazing night!

Incredible wedding band!

Every single guest that we talked to mentioned how amazing Soul Patch Philly was at our wedding! On the actual night, everyone kept saying, "they're so good!" They kept everyone on the dance floor all night, all guests ranging from ages 12 to 80+ were dancing and enjoying their music. Nate was highly responsive, and the band was able to learn a couple of songs for us that were not on their standard list, including 2 songs for the ceremony and 1 for the reception. We cannot say enough good things about the band! Highly, highly recommend! They sound even better in person than on their recordings!

Must hire! Sounded great!

Nathan and his band were so professional, and most importantly, they sounded amazing! We continuously got so many compliments over how good they sounded, and Nathan helped ease my mind over the sequence of the night. The best band!!!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Soul Patch. We booked them for our wedding on 6/7 and Nate could not have been any easier to work with. They played a private showcase for us before we made the decision to book, and within 5 minutes we knew they would be incredible!! In addition to playing our reception, they also did our ceremony and cocktail hour music which was amazing. Nate was super collaborative in planning out the set list and working through noise restrictions from our venue. Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night and couldn’t say enough incredible things! Book them!!!

Best Wedding Band

This review is long overdue, but we cannot recommend Soul Patch Philly enough! They were very easy to work with, and it was especially nice to work directly with Nate throughout the process. They learned a few new songs for us too, which was greatly appreciated. The night flowed perfectly with Nate’s leadership. They were a HUGE hit at our wedding. Guests are still talking about them several months later and many have said it was “the best wedding they’ve ever been to.” Soul Patch Philly kept the dance floor packed all night long! Nate and the entire band were so much fun and are incredibly talented. We would definitely book them again!

Incredible!

Soul Patch Philly brought the party to our wedding! The dance floor was filled the entire night with everyone, regardless of age or ability...the music was irresistible. Not only are they consummate musicians, they are beautiful humans and wonderful communicators. Nate and the entire band were professionals in planning a seamless flow of events and brought fantastic energy to the entire celebration. We are still smiling and loved every minute!

Hands-Down the best wedding band anyone had ever heard

To say Soul Patch Philly was great is a huge understatement. After our wedding, there were two things we heard from almost everyone.. “thanks for having us, we had a great time” and “holy hell, that band was amazing.” Nate and the rest of the band were super easy to work with - professional in every way while at the same time very easy to work with. We couldn’t recommend them enough to anyone looking to throw the party of a lifetime.
One little anecdote.. at one point SPP was playing “What a Wonderful World” and we noticed every person on the dance floor slowly realize that the gentleman singing wasn’t Satchmo himself. It was truly incredible in every way. We can’t thank Soul Patch Philly enough for playing at our wedding — it truly made the night for us and our guests!

Simply The Best

Soul Patch Philly is the best wedding band around! Their level of talent and professionalism is unparalleled. They were attentive, empathetic, flexible, and, most importantly, ready to tear the roof off! Nate was a pleasure to work with and didn't hesitate at all when asked to learn a new song for our first dance (which they crushed!). Their music library is extensive so you'll be able to find whatever vibe you desire for your wedding. We couldn't be happier that we were able to share our special day with Soul Patch Philly!

We love them

The number one thing that was complimented about our wedding was the wedding band. Everyone was amazed at the range. The singer went from Louis Armstrong to Prince like a champ. We were so happy with the flow of the wedding based around the music! We would recommend to anyone highly! This is the second time my family had used them for a wedding and two of our friends have as well!

A fantastic addition to our wedding!

One of the few requests I made to my wife when planning our wedding was that I wanted a live band for the music. After getting a recommendation, we checked out Soul Patch Philly. Within a few minutes of watching them play we knew this was the band for us. The band leader, Nate, was so easy to work with and so flexible with what we wanted! We discussed the schedule of events a couple weeks before the wedding, and he made a great effort to come up with a setlist that made sense from the beginning to the end of the night, and include the songs that we personally requested got played. Their musicians and singers were top notch and involved in some capacity throughout the entire day, from our ceremony to the cocktail hour, followed by the full band playing 3+ hours during the reception. By the end of the night and in the weeks following we had gotten so many compliments from our guests about how great the band was, and how great of a job they did getting people out on the dance floor. I hope we can experience or use them again with another event in the future!

Best Wedding Band!

Best Wedding Band

We got married in October 2019 and we were looking for a band to keep our guests dancing all night. Soul Patch did not disappoint. We have received so many compliments about the band and how people haven’t danced that long in years. The music was so varied which was nice as it hit a variety of age groups and the band was engaging. The music also sounded fantastic! I didn’t even leave the dance floor and when I did I was disappointed I had to leave because the music played was amazing. If you are looking for a band to play at your wedding, book Soul Patch Philly. You will not be disappointed!

Flawless! Kept the energy going all night!

We worked with Nate K, who was incredibly easy going, professional, and fun from start to finish. On the day of the wedding everything went flawlessly - from keeping people on the dance floor, MC'ing the whole event along, announcing necessities - they never slipped up. They sounded amazing all night; we are still getting endless compliments on how stellar our band was. Would definitely recommend!

Nate, the band leader, knows how to hustle! He arranged for us to see them live at another wedding before booking, and was very negotiable with us. Scheduling was a breeze. On the day of our wedding in April 2018, everything went flawlessly. I didn't have to worry about the band at all. Walking around to visit our guests during the reception, compliments on the choice of band were absolutely the #1 most frequent compliment we received. They were incredible!

Soul Patch Philly was the band for our daughter's wedding reception. We could not have been happier with our experience. Everything about this group is professional and talented. Our daughter and the groom wanted a band that kept their guests on the dance floor and Soul Patch Philly certainly did that ! Numerous guests said that this is the best wedding band they have ever experienced. Nate worked with our daughter and her groom to tailor the music for them.

Soul Patch Philly absolutely brought the house down at my wedding! I have been to so many weddings with my now-husband where none of his friends danced...but not ours! They were all out on the dance floor all night! And that is thanks to Soul Patch! When I say everyone was on the dance floor, I mean EVERYONE, including my husband's 91-year old grandmother who swore she would not dance! Soul Patch's energy was electric and we have gotten so many comments about how our wedding was the best our guests have ever been to in large part because of the band. So many of our guests told us that they will be using bands for their weddings because the energy and the excitement that Soul Patch brought simply cannot be matched by a DJ. We cannot thank Soul Path enough for giving us the party of our lives!

Absolutely top notch. My wife and I got married June 2nd in Cape May, NJ, and Soul Patch played the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We currently live in Cincinnati, so we were doing some long distance wedding planning. Band leader Nate Kahn was incredibly easy to work with and flexible. He made some great recommendations that made the day run more smoothly. And the music itself...amazing. Their song list is huge and still doesn't encompass what these guys are able to do. We had an acoustic guitar and piano for our ceremony and a piano and horn for cocktail hour. Both flawless. We asked the band to learn a song for our first dance that was very different from what they normally play. Nate said no problem, and it was perfect - our favorite memory from the night. Nate did a great job MCing the reception, and we didn't even notice the band during dinner. That is a compliment - you don't want the band overpowering dinner conversation. When it came time to dance and party though these guys lit it up. Vocals, strings, drums, and brass all sounded great. Very talented musicians in this group. People I have known for years and never seen dance were out on the floor. We got countless compliments and lots of people asking for contact info for Soul Patch for future events. If music is important to you at you wedding or event, these are your guys.

Nate and the Soul Patch band had our wedding reception guests at Ellis Preserve dancing from the first minute of the reception. Their band is so tight, plays music for everyone, and feeds off the crowd energies beyond your expectation. The vocals, percussion, horns, drums, guitar, and key boards made the reception! We had so many guests say how much they enjoyed Soul Patch that it exceeded expectations. Nate worked with our daughter and her fiancé to deliver the music selections with variety, rhythm, and Philly soul. We highly recommend Soul Patch and you will not be disappointed! Great band.

Having a large band was something that we wanted so badly for our wedding but after shopping around, we weren’t quite sure we could afford it. Then we found Soul Patch Philly. They are so much more reasonable than some of the agency bands of the same size and so much more personal. Nate, the leader, put together a last minute showcase for us and another couple. We were blown away by their talent and enthusiasm and we booked them the next day. Nate worked with us on the schedule and provided advice on how to make the most of the night. They learned our first dance and performed it perfectly! The music at the wedding was fantastic from the ceremony prelude to the very last song. Guests were up dancing all night and kept coming up to us to tell us how much they loved the band. Everyone was so bummed when the night came to an end. People are still talking about how much fun they had and how they can’t remember the last time they danced that hard!

8-26-17 wedding -- Soul Patch Philly was the most fun, professional, and talented band we could have asked for at our wedding. Blown away from the demo all the way through the big day -- Nate walked us through everything and made sure the band was something we didn't have to worry about whatsoever on such an important day. "Are you kidding me?" and "Just wow." were the most common reviews by our guests. All kinds of amazing vocals and instrumentals in this band, I'd recommend them to anyone.

You can't go wrong with Soul Patch Philly! The band went above and beyond with EVERYTHING: accommodating last minute requests, transitioning into bits of foreign traditions, and making our wedding basically one big dance floor for the most part of it. Soul Patch is the MOST AMAZING wedding entertainment in the South Jersey/Philly area! People are still raving about how fantastic the music was at our wedding. Nate (the lead guitarist) was so accommodating and flexible with our music taste. They learned all the songs we wanted that weren't in their catalog for our ceremony and reception. They played acoustic guitar and bass for our ceremony, keyboard during the cocktail - which was so classy, and rocked it out during our reception with all the best dancing tunes. Our guests were dancing from the moment they stepped into the ballroom and had to be asked to leave the dance floors to return to their tables to eat. It was THAT fun! Soul Patch Philly exceeded our expectations in every possible way and provided top-notch musicianship for our reception! We loved every minute of it and were so grateful we were able to book them for our wedding. I would 110% recommend booking this band for your reception - they are well worth it - they made our wedding so fun and memorable!!!!

Nate and his band are incredible. He is very professional, even taking the time to get to know the couple before the wedding. When my then fiance and I started planning our wedding for December 2016 we knew we really wanted a great band to get the party going, so we started talking to several bands and even went to showcases to see them playing. From the beginning Soul Patch caught our attention with their talented people. Nate was very responsive and we met to talk about our expectations and decided to book with them immediately.

We could not have made a better decision!! The party was amazing, they kept everybody, from kids to the older folks, on the dance floor all night, everyone could not stop telling us how amazing they were!!

We booked Soul Patch Philly for our October 29th wedding and WOW were we happy we did! From my first phone call with Nate, I knew they were the right band for us. We arranged to hear them at a showcase first and we were immediately blown away! Nate was so helpful throughout the planning process and really made us comfortable with our decision in booking them. My now husband and I did a lot of research looking for a band for our wedding on 9.10.16 as we both prioritized music at our wedding. Nate was fantastic to talk with from start to finish. He called right after our inquiry to get a feel for what we wanted on our date-set up a showcase that blew us away. This band is extremely talented. They are authentic with a real sound, a beautiful horn section, rich vocalists, and an EXTENSIVE playlist. We wanted music that wouldn't just appeal to our friends and bridal party, but something that got everyone at our wedding up and on the dance floor-and that was exactly what Soul Patch Philly did. They added so much energy to our reception! Our bridal party, parents, aunts, uncles, friends-everyone loved this band. They did a little set in between salad and dinner that got our guests up and dancing right away-and played through the entire reception. It was amazing to see everyone having such a great time-our guests were chanting for them to play one more song at the end, which they did. They are extremely professional, have a classy sound and look, learned a few requested songs for us which added a very personal touch, played beautiful keyboard at our ceremony included in their pricing, and were a great band to interact with through the whole process. They offered a great value for the extremely high level of talent they delivered. I really hope I get the chance sometime to hear them again!!! We highly recommend booking them!

Soul Patch Philly was absolutely terrific and we highly recommend this band. They kept the dance floor filled the entire time at our wedding and they accommodated a number of special requests -- from incorporating a bridal party entrances idea that we had to learning Queen's Under Pressure to cap off the night. We have received so many compliments regarding the music and energy they brought to our reception. They offer great musicianship and five different vocalists, all with unique talents. Soul Patch Philly is an amazing band! Our wedding guests never left the dance floor - everyone had a great time. Nate and his band were very professional, easy to work with and were very accommodating. I would highly recommend Soul Patch Philly to anyone who is looking for an energetic, fun and professional band. We are so happy we chose Soul Patch Philly - they truly made our night amazing!

My husband and I were so happy with Soul Patch Philly! We live in Kentucky, but had our wedding in Cape May, NJ. Even with all the distance Nate, the band leader, was responsive and accommodating! Soul Patch played wonderfully at the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We were even able to choose the songs we wanted! The band had so much energy and the wedding guests could not stop dancing. We wanted to continue the party all night! My husband and I would definitely recommend Soul Patch Philly to make your wedding even more unforgettable!

Nate from Soul Patch Philly was great to work with; prompt, courteous and meeting al our needs. The band was AWESOME!! Our guests never left the dance floor. Everyone said it made it the best wedding that they had been to in a long time and wanted to know where I got the band. They definitely created the atmosphere that we wanted for our daughters wedding; they played the entire time from cocktail hour through to the "last dance"; we were so sorry when the evening was over. I recommend to anyone considering a band--these guys were fantastic!!

Soul Patch Philly was the absolute perfect band for our wedding! Our guests are still commenting on how much fun they had dancing along to the 'fantastic live music!'

Aside from a very talented set of musicians who perform with amazing chemistry and an energy that is downright contagious, the band's leader, Nate, offers a personal and attentive element we did not feel we could have gotten from agency-associated bands.

This was the differentiator for us. It allowed us the ability to immediately build a relationship with the talent who would be a part of our special day. Nate was awesome to deal with. He was personal, attentive, professional, and honest. He also made us so comfortable during the entire process. Nate catered songs and experiences that were right for our special day. (As a bride it was very reassuring to be able to call him directly if we had a song idea or question, versus filtering information through an agency advocate).

We are so thankful that we discovered Soul Patch Philly and that they were such a big, successful part of our most important day!

The guests at my wedding couldn't say enough great things about the evening. In fact, I even received several thank you cards from guests! A HUGE part of what make the night so wonderful for both my husband and I was Soul Patch Philly. Everyone, and I mean, everyone, was dancing the entire night. Soul Patch was a pleasure to work with in addition to sharing with us their talent. They learned the songs that were most important to us that evening, which meant so very much to my husband, myself and our families.

This is a talented group of individuals who I'd recommend to anyone, not just in an online review. In fact, I've already provided their contact details to three other couples having wedding in the next year and my college alumni association for reunion weekend.

So much thanks to all the members of Soul Patch Philly for helping to make our wedding so memorable!

Soul Patch Philly was absolutely amazing! Everything we hoped for and more. They were totally on our same page with keeping the music rocking and played songs for all ages that had all our guests on the dance floor all night!! Soul Patch Philly did an AMAZING job playing our September 2015 wedding in Villanova, Pa. The eight-piece band had our 140 guests on the dance floor from the first dance, all the way through until the last song. We are still receiving compliments on the band.
Nate was wonderful to work with prior to the big day, providing us with recommendations and seeing through with all of our special requests for songs. He also did a great job MC'ing (introducing the wedding party, dances, cutting the cake, tossing the bouquet, etc.)
The band played songs from all decades through today flawlessly. We would HIGHLY recommend Soul Patch Philly to play at your wedding!

Soul Patch Philly played at our wedding this past weekend (9/19/15) and was AMAZING!!! From start to finish, SPP was a pleasure to work with. The band leader (Nate) was super responsive, well organized, accommodating to our requests, and a true professional from the first time we emailed him through the event. We used SPP for the entire event--ceremony (2 piece), cocktail hour (3 piece), and reception (full 8 piece)--and they tailored their sound/style perfectly for each part of the night. When it came time to get the dance floor going after dinner they did not disappoint, rocking for a full 2-3 hours with no breaks in the playlist. SPP's sound quality and musicianship was spot on, nailing every song from the most basic wedding staples to our special requests. Guests were raving about the band since the moment they started, through the night, and are still complimenting us on how good they were. I don't plan on getting married again any time soon but if I did I would hire SPP again in a heartbeat!

The one thing I knew I wanted at our wedding was an amazing live band that would bring the party. Let me tell you, Soul Patch had every single wedding guest on his or her feet!
Researching live bands in Philadelphia can be a frustrating process. Many bands were inflexible about meeting and charged excessive rates. Nate, Soul Patch's coordinator, was extremely prompt and professional in responding to my questions, and accommodated our schedule for a showcase. I found having direct contact with Nate to be one of the most valuable services Soul Patch had to offer. Nate has a wealth of wedding planning insight and experience, and he not only addressed my questions, but he also proactively addressed many potential issues and ideas that I had not considered. He truly loves what he does and cares about each client. Nate was adamant about getting to know each other a bit so that he could learn about our music style, to make sure the playlist would fit with what we would enjoy most. The most helpful insight was about the timeline of the evening. I was struggling with the order of various events throughout the night, and after mentioning this to Nate, he provided a draft timeline and walked me through the pros and cons of various options. Ultimately, we ended up with a timeline that made sure we got the party started early and lasted all night long!
If you're still unsure about Soul Patch, I would recommend going to one of their showcases. The band's chemistry and energy are palpable when they play. They clearly have a lot of fun playing with one another, which carries over into the crowd. I think the best way to explain their ability to engage a crowd of all ages is through a picture we have from the end of our wedding night, which shows deserted tables and literally EVERY guest on the dance floor - including my grandparents! By booking Soul Patch Philly, you will be guaranteeing that your wedding is the best party you and your guests have been to in years!

Soul Patch Philly were so great and easy to work with. They were professional and responsive during the entire process. I have never seen so many people up and dancing as there were during our wedding; they were great entertainment start to finish. It was the most fun I have ever had at a wedding and Soul Patch Philly played a huge part of that. So many people at our wedding have been telling us how amazing our band was. They played so many different genres of music throughout the night. We couldn't have asked for a better band at our wedding!

Soul Patch Philly totally made our party! It's hard to cater to the music tastes of a crowd ranging from recent college grads to 50+ year olds, but they certainly did! The band was lively throughout the whole show, playing everything from Motown classics to songs that are currently on the radio. They knew how to get everyone dancing and keep the party going until the very end. Nate was extremely professional and responsive to work with. All of our guests kept asking who the band was! I would totally recommend them for any event.

Soul Patch Philly was great! I received so many positive comments from my guests including "this is the best band ever" and "the band is really good."

I appreciated that I was able to give the band details about the audience and they tailored the music for the evening to fit the tone and vibe of the event.

Working with Soul Patch Philly was a pleasure! Nate and his band members were extremely professional and absolutely made our reception unforgettable. We were able to pick out the songs we wanted (even songs they had never played before) and the band performed them better than we could have imagined - they were the life of the party! They played from the start of the reception to the very end and kept our guests up on the dance floor and having a great time. We got so many compliments from our guests saying that they were the best band they have ever heard and we can't thank them enough for making our wedding day so memorable. Before I review the actual night let me run down the preparation process, which was effortless and easy: we put a deposit early, and then as the time drew closer Nate reached out to us to start working on a song list and other procedures. We also put them in touch with the venue to get them coordinated with the spacing, setup etc. Nate and Co. were more than accommodating – they even learned “our song”, the “Father-Daughter song, and the song for the Mother-Son dance! Some of the the songs we picked were tough to replicate, but Philly Soul Patch nailed it!

I think, best of all, is that their music appealed to ALL ages and types. We had every single person out of 125 or so grooving at some point. Maybe it was the soulful Earth, Wind and Fire (my favorite), or other classics, but it’s been 3 months since the wedding and I am still hearing about the reception. Let me share a few of the comments we heard beyond the “your band was awesome!”:

- “I’ve only ever danced twice in my life, and your wedding was the second time”

- “I can’t believe they learned ALL the songs you requested”

- “I swear they never took a break!”

- “I LOST IT when they did Montell Jordan’s “This is How We Do It””

As the night went on and every guest was grooving out there, Philly Soul Patch started to close it down and say goodnight. The crowd was having none of it. In response, they all started chanting “One More Song”, “ONE MORE SONG!” until they got what they wanted. It’s a moment I can’t forget - it meant that, not only did they not want the night to end, but that we had made the unequivocal, right choice.

They truly deserve this write-up and also our personal recommendation. To anyone looking to make a “good” event and “unforgettable” event - you must check out this band!

I booked Soul Patch Philly for our annual holiday event at one of the most exclusive country clubs in eastern PA. This band rocked our party. In fact, many people thought they were the best we have ever had. The band played music that appealed to our youngest staff (student interns) @ 20 years old to our retired partners @ 72 years old - from The Four Tops to Meghan Trainor and kept our people on the dance floor all night except for one brief break. Party goers asked that we book them for next year's event. Nate was great to work with and they delivered. You will not go wrong in booking Soul Patch Philly for your event.

My husband and I were married on October 11th. His parents had seen Soul Patch Philly at a family friend's wedding, came home and said you have to have them for your wedding. We listened to them at a showcase and were sold.

For our ceremony we wanted a very low-key feel. Nate played an acoustic guitar and another band member played the keyboard. I asked to walk down the aisle to Bright Eye's First Day of My Life. Nate played it on guitar and learned the lyrics. It was one of my most emotional moments of the day.

We also had two band members play some light jazz through the cocktail hour. During the reception, we wanted high energy! My husband and I love to dance and they kept the dance floor full all night. I highly recommend them!

Soul Patch Philly was an awesome wedding band! Nate and his crew were happy to drive down to Baltimore for our wedding in October, and rocked the whole night. They learned a few great tunes for us (Ophelia by The Band and our wedding song - I'll Back You Up by Dave Matthews) and were very responsive to how everyone wanted the flow of the night to go (basically get the formalities done with early and dance as much as possible!). We'd definitely recommend these guys for your wedding!!

When my fiancé and I began planning our wedding, we always knew that the music throughout the day was going to be one of the most important parts. We are both music teachers, and we wanted that part of the experience to really be something special. When I reached out to inquire about Soul Patch, and finally got to go see them live, I knew right away that they were the missing link. They were phenomenal from the first email, through the killer set lists, and all the way to the group picture that they got in on with all of the "survivors" at the end of the night!

If someone were to ask if I would recommend them for their parties or receptions, I would say, "Why haven't you called them already!"

Nate and his band, not only have great music selections, they are incredibly talented musicians. Beyond that, they conducted the cocktail hour and reception in the most professional manner and met every request we had. They played our song selection, incorporated the groom's daughter into the first song, accompanied a few family members who are talented musicians. Their ability to read the crowd allowed for it to be the most fabulous and memorable event. Many of my guests sent notes to me afterward stating that was the best band they had the pleasure of dancing to. They played 5 hours un interrupted and had guests up and dancing at the cocktail party!! I'm trying to find another event to have them play!

Soul patch Philly absolutely 100% made our wedding. They were incredible and amazing energy throughout the entire night. We had many people tell us the next day it was the best music and wedding they have ever been to! The dance floor was FULL I mean full all night, literally there was no one sitting. They made an incredible play list of some of our recommendations and theirs and kept the energy all night with a perfect mix of old and new tunes. They also accommodated our song requests and embraced them with incredible performances! Our mother of the groom and groom dance was "what a wonderful world" and the one singer sang exactly like Louis Armstrong!! It was INCREDIBLE!!! Everyone was loving it. It's an easy choice, if you are debating DJ vs. band (like we did), soul patch Philly is a must!!!
