As a musician myself, I knew I wanted to have Soul City as my wedding band before I even met my husband! Natalie is so professional, responsive, and supportive in every way! Soul City does not miss a beat, from the planning stages to the night of. All details will be covered and you can truly relax and leave everything up to them. Our guests had an amazing time and can't stop talking about the music. Having the full horn section was amazing and truly a dream come true for a fellow trumpet player. If you're thinking about a band vs DJ, do yourself a favor and include band/live music in at least some part of your wedding day (and be sure to book Soul City EARLY) - you will not regret it! -

If you want every guest at your wedding to get on that dance floor, Soul City is your band. They played songs across genres and eras, keeping the good vibes going for the entire night. Even my grandma, who has a strong aversion to dancing, got her groove on! So many compliments from our guests. We had some special requests of the band, including having our brother sing our first dance song, and adding in some special family dances. Natalie and the band were not just accommodating, but they were happy to do everything they could to make our celebration exactly what we wanted. We were so grateful to have our brother be able to play with them - thank you so much, for everything! A night to remember. -

I cannot rave enough about Natalie and the entire Soul City family. Having a band was at the top of my wish list when I started wedding planning. However, through the rollercoaster months of 2020, we did not have an opportunity to preview bands due to COVID. While it may have seemed like a risk, I never doubted that Soul City would be anything but amazing. Natalie was patient and helpful as so many things remained unknown – especially when we had an unexpected venue change five months before our wedding. Getting to hear them in person a few weeks in advance really made us even more excited. I kept telling my guests, “just wait until you hear the band!” As we planned the final details, we easily were able to incorporate personal touches while utilizing the knowledge Soul City brings to the table. Every detail, from the flawless ceremony sound to the high-energy playlist, helped make our day perfect. They truly know how to get people dancing and our guests keep telling me weeks later how incredible the band was! -

Soul City band is the best! Natalie, the band manager, was incredibly accomodating in us booking the band and having to switch around dates due to Covid-19. Throughout every step of the way, she was understanding and responsive. It was a breath of fresh air during a very stressful time. I can't say enough about the integrity and professionalism of this band. Not only are they a talented group of individuals, but they are above and beyond with customer service and they made sure to provide the best experience possible for us. -

I cannot say enough great things about Soul City! They were incredible to work with. Natalie is extremely responsive, organized and easy to work with which makes the entire planning process that much smoother. When it came to our actual wedding day, they were incredible! They did a great job of reading the crowd and playing music that still has our guests talking, four months later! They were super fun and flexible, coming out into the crowd to perform, letting my rowdy college friends sing our Alma Mater's chant and even inviting me up to star on lead vocals. They managed to be the perfect mix of professional and fun. If you're looking for a top notch band- look no further! -

We can’t give Soul City enough praise! From when we first inquired, band manager and lead vocalist Natalie was there to quickly answer any questions we had about options, pricing, etc. That didn’t stop once we booked either -- she was always just an email or phone call away, even offering advice on best practices outside of the “wedding band” purview. She is so warm and sweet, it felt like I was bouncing ideas off of one of my bridesmaids. When it came to showtime, Soul City blew our guests away. They provided ceremony music (keyboardist and guitarist + ceremony sound reinforcement), and reception music for the most amazing party of our lives! Soul City got everyone involved (even the kiddos!) and came out onto the dance floor multiple times to interact with everyone. It truly felt they were just an extension of our family celebration. This is one super talented group of musicians – we went to see them multiple times before our wedding, and will continue to go to their shows because they are just THAT good! Book them now before some other lucky couple snatches them up – it will be one of the best and easiest wedding decisions you make. -

Soul City is absolutely the BEST!! Early on into wedding planning my husband & I knew we really wanted to have a live band. We did a bunch of research and from the moment we went to see Soul City perform in Cambridge and my dad couldn't keep himself off the dance floor, we knew we found the right band.
Natalie was so incredible to work with throughout the whole process - she was incredibly responsive & proactive - coming up with questions or ideas that we hadn't even thought of. She took the stress out of planning and made us both feel really confident going into the big day that everything would be taken care of.
Our wedding on June 1 was INCREDIBLE and Soul City had a huge role in making it the best day of our lives! We had such a blast on the dance floor, the musicians were incredibly talented, fun and professional all at the same time. All of our guests raved about the music and we continue to get compliments on it even months later!
We can't thank Soul City enough for the best night! -

So much fun
Soul City really knows how to get everyone up on the dance floor and keep them there! We had an incredible time dancing during the entire reception. Our guest could not stop raving about the band. Every communication leading up to the wedding was prompt. Music during the ceremony and cocktail hour were spot on. -

Soul City changed my ideas of what a wedding band can do. A ten piece band with a horn section and three vocalists! They were in perfect form. They were "tight" like a small ensemble, and they totally had that "swing" without which, "it don't mean a thing". There were a large number of guests from England, and we wanted to show them that Motown and Soul can stand their own against the Beatles any day. The guests didn't want them to stop. We also went over their play list and picked out the songs most suited to their style. It was a total home run. -
Rekha Sent on 08/23/2018We love Soul City! *During* and after our wedding, we heard lots of "best band ever" comments from guests who had also hired live bands for their weddings. True, Soul City is the absolute best. The sound is out of this world (both talent/skill and sound-mixing, and the latter isn't always a given). Only a few people in the world can give Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner their due. I heard back from Natalie within an hour of inquiring into their availability, and she did everything she could to make sure we had an incredible experience. We even hired the band keyboardist to play music for the ceremony (Bruce Springsteen's "Backstreets" - not exactly soul, but certainly soulful). The band learned and performed our favorite Amy Winehouse song, "A Song for You," for our first dance, and my mother-in-law said the overall effect was so moving they cried. We knew we wanted a kickass Motown band, and we got it. Look no further.

Erin Sent on 02/18/2012I can't say enough about how fantastic Soul City was. There was not one person at our wedding who was not on the floor and dancing. If you like motown and funk music, this is your band. Their 10 piece ensemble is amazing - they have male and female vocalists, and a brass section! We had multiple guests ask us about the band and inquire how far they would travel. I will absolutely book them again in the future - maybe for a big birthday or anniversary celebration. Pat Wallace, the manager, was in contact with me often leading up to the wedding, and they were able to accomodate our requests for ceremony music as well. We got married on a rainy October night in Vermont, and they heated things up! Best wedding band ever!
