Best wedding alteration store ever!!
Wish I could give more stars!! My mom and I both got our dresses (MOB gown and wedding gown) fitted at sophisticated fit for my wedding. We absolutely loved making the drive to Delaware whenever we had an appointment. Everyone at the store is so friendly and excellent at what they do. They made our dresses look like they were custom because of how well they fit! Not to mention they were reasonable! And so much fun to talk to-my mom and I wanted to go to our fittings just to chat with everyone! I will definitely be going back to get future dresses fitted and definitely recommend sophisticated fit to anyone looking for a fun experience as well as a good price and expertly fitted dress. Thanks again!! -

Truly the Best!
I cannot recommend Sophisticated Fit highly enough for wedding dress alterations! When I say my dress did not fit AT ALL when I picked it up from the bridal shop, I am not exaggerating. But Christina is a miracle worker! She altered literally every aspect of my dress… the bodice, the shoulders, the back, the bust, and the hem. In one fitting, my dress went from what I worried would be a disaster to the dress of my dreams! She also did a masterful job at creating a bustle for a rather large tulle dress that stayed put the entire night and looked absolutely stunning! I got endless compliments on my dress and I attribute all of that credit to Sophisticated Fit! They are a talented group and their shop is such a positive environment that makes sure every bride feels beautiful! I will most definitely be returning to Sophisticated Fit for all of my alterations needs in the future! -

Pam and her team did an amazing job with my wedding dress alterations! My dress was strapless and they were able to make custom removable off-the-shoulder straps. My dress was hemmed perfectly. It was taken in and at my last fitting it seemed too tight but they were able to quickly fix it before my wedding day. Reasonable prices and quality work! -

I got my wedding dress at Claire’s across the street and they recommended Pam McBride from Sophisticated Fit. I read reviews online and everyone raved about Pam. From my first fitting, she was professional and caring and I knew I was in good hands. The dress turned out beautifully and fit me like a glove. The staff there is so nice and they really make you feel special. I highly recommend Pam for wedding dress alterations. -

Amanda Sent on 07/24/2018I came to Pam at Sophisticated Fit worried if my dress could be made perfect for me. I bought a dress made of scalloped lace and when it came in the center point between two scallops was not pointing straight up, but instead towards my hip. The bridal salon recommended Pam and she fixed that and so much more. She made the scallops look perfect, hemmed the dress which was difficult with the scalloped lace, took the dress in, and added some material so the V neckline was not so deep. This was all done in less than a month, when the recommendation is to give at least 6 weeks, if not 2-3 months, for alterations. I am so happy she could take me within the month of my wedding, and was able to fix everything that needed to be fixed, so that my dress fit just perfectly on the day of the wedding. I can't thank her enough for all the work she did on my beautiful gown, made perfect by her.

Kim Sent on 03/01/2018I found my perfect dress in December, 2016 with the hopes of losing at least 30 lbs to fit in the dress and feel good. I ended up losing my dad unexpectedly in February, 2017 and suddenly losing weight to fit into a dress was the least of my worries. I waited until the last minute for alterations and was thrilled when a friend recommended Sophisticated Fit to me. I went to see Pam and begged her to help me. I was desperate to say the least bc my dress would not zip and I only had three weeks to figure it out. She suggested adding new straps and criss crossing them and lowering the back for me. I would have never been able to fit into my islandy dress without Pam suggesting ways to make me more comfortable. The dress ended up being gorgeous and comfortable. I loved it so mucch that I asked Pam and her assistant, Tanya to help me pick out a headband, earrings and slip to make me feel even more special. Thank you Pam and staff for turning my frown upside down and for being so compassionate and understanding!!! I felt amazing on my wedding day in Jamaica and wore the dress way way longer than I expected bc of your impeccable alterations!!! Thanks so much, mon!! Kim T.

Samantha Sent on 12/20/2017I came to Pam in a panic after having a horrible experience at a different local seamstress. Bottom line, my dress was so uncomfortable that if it couldn't be fixed I was going to buy a new dress (6 weeks before my wedding, yikes!). I didn't have high hopes after the nightmare from the other seamstress. Pam never panicked. She almost laughed and told me that it would be "no problem" to make my dress comfortable. I immediately felt so much better and knew that I was in good hands. I'm sure it wasn't easy for Pam (I had 5 fittings), but she did it! My dress was so comfortable and beautiful. She made my day enjoyable because I didn't have to think about my comfortability. She also did alterations for my rehearsal dinner dress, which turned out fabulous as well. Pam is so sweet and her prices are very reasonable. Thank you so much Pam!

Rachel Sent on 07/23/2016I just got back from my final fitting with Pam. I am over-the-moon happy with the way my dress turned out! She made it fit like a dream. She was able to guide me with choosing the most flattering accessories and undergarments for my look. Whenever I had questions, she happily explained her process to me. Most amazing to me is that she was able to take my scalloped lace dress and hem it so that you would never even know it had been hemmed! When Pam saw my dress and I asked how on earth she was going to deal with the hem, she sort of chuckled to herself and said, "That's no problem at all!" To be honest, after meeting with Pam I had shopped around with another seamstress (one who is less popular but still has a good reputation) to try and find a lower price. When the other seamstress took my dress out of the bag, the first thing she said was, "Uh oh!!!" I wish I were joking about that! She also said that just the hem alone would cost me the same amount that Pam had already quoted for ALL of my alterations, including taking in the sides and 11 bustle points! To top it all off, she was working out of her home and her cat sat on my train while she was pinning the front of my dress! Needless to say, I took my dress and RAN back to Pam, and I am SO glad that I did! For such a complicated dress, I think that her pricing was reasonable...and I learned the hard way that when you are dealing with your wedding dress, you cannot put a price tag on the peace of mind you will have knowing that the most talented professional in the area is working on your dress. I hope that YOU don't have to learn that the hard way. Now you can just go to Pam and know you are in the best of hands. ;) Plus, she has been so patient and accommodating throughout this process. She even squeezed me in for my final fitting when I didn't have an appointment. I love Pam and recommend her most highly for your bridal alterations!! -

She came recommended from Claire's Fashions (where I purchased my dress), and another friend had booked her for alterations as well. When I called her to book an appointment she was accommodating to my schedule since I had to travel from Cherry Hill, NJ, (an hour trip) and she listened closely to what I wanted and gave great recommendations. I originally purchased an Allure sweetheart neckline strapless dress and requested to add a button-up illusion back with lace straps and she nailed it! I tried going to a different seamstress before seeing Pam and I just couldn't trust the other seamstress, Pam you can trust with any alterations and she'll make it look fabulous! I also got my full-lace dress hemmed and added a 5pt bustle which stayed up all night, even through crazy dancing! If you're in the Wilmington/Philly area and need a trusted seamstress go to Pam at Sophisticated Fit! -

Amazing alterations
Pam at Sophisticated Fit was wonderful to work with. My dress had a large train that I didn’t want and three layers of tulle underneath that were too much for me— Pam helped by giving her opinion and I felt like she really understood what I wanted. In the end, she made the changes I wanted and it looked exactly how I wanted. My dress fit like a glove and made me feel amazing. Highly recommend! -

They made me feel at ease during each fitting, and their competent and experienced approach helped me relax amid wedding stress! They gave me a recommendation on how to bustle my dress that was unique and fitting for the style, and when the big day arrived, my maid of honor and my mom were able to secure the bustle in 10 minutes flat. Thank you again for helping me look my best!

Dress did not fit
After 4 appointments and $750 spent unfortunately my dress did not fit at all and was extremely loose around the chest. I should have realized 2 weeks out from my wedding after 3 fittings when the dress didn’t fit at all that there was a problem and taken it elsewhere. They kept telling me to trust them which I unfortunately did. Their solution for the dress not fitting whatsoever was to just tape the dress to myself using wig tape. If I were a tailor I would consider it a failure that I did such a poor job that the client had to tape the dress to themselves. They assured me that the wig tape would hold throughout the wedding, but the stickiness only lasted for about 10 minutes. I lost a half hour of time with my photographer when we were supposed to be taking family photos because I was trying to reattach tape, which came off again before the ceremony had even started. I was uncomfortable the entire night knowing the dress did not fit and people could see fully down my top. Coming here for alterations was easily the worst decision I made for my wedding. -

Annmarie Sent on 09/14/2018I took my wedding dress here upon recommendation from Claire's Fashions. My dress needed a hem, the waist taken in, and the shoulders pinned down by 1/4 of an inch. The cost of these alterations was half the cost of the dress! When I returned to try on my dress, the hem looked great. The rest was so awful. The dress was no longer symmetrical and the sides had not been taken in. However, to "fix" these mistakes required another large check! The bustle for my dress that she pinned up looked so awful (American style on a dress with thin flowy material).I told her I no longer loved my dress. She became very condescending and told me I was wearing the wrong type of bra, that I was allergic to my dress and shouldn't wear it (I broke out in a stress induced rash), and that it would not look any better than it was. I was very polite and respectful as I gave my dress back to her to fix. When I got outside, I broke down into tears. I ended up claming down, going back inside and asking for my dress back and for the check that I had just written, so I could take the dress elsewhere. She got very upset and started yelling about how I was carrying on and acting like a child. She told me she was done with me and wouldn't alter my dress any longer and to "take it and get out". This was so unprofessional, as I was the one who asked for the dress to leave with! She is overpriced, rude, condescending, and unprofessional. The workmanship is NOT worth the high cost! Save yourself the stress and the tears!
