I am an actress and I first met Sonja as a makeup artist for a commercial that we were both working on. I have worked with several makeup artists throughout my career, but within a matter of minutes I knew Sonja was superior. By lunchtime of that work day, I knew I wanted Sonja to do my makeup on my upcoming wedding day. We just clicked and she is such a skilled makeup artist. I booked her shortly after!
Fast forward to my wedding day, and Sonja exceeded all expectations. Sonja and her assistant, Christina, arrived at the venue early and were ready to start makeup a half hour early. We had a total of nine different women that got their makeup done and Sonja managed to keep our makeup schedule ahead of time. Everyone's makeup looked AMAZING. My entire bridal party raved about both Sonja and Christina.
I LOVED my makeup for the wedding day and would recommend Sonja a million times over! Do not hesitate to hire her for your wedding! She will not disappoint! -

Sonja is fantastic!!!
I reached out to Sonja very last minute to see if she could help me with makeup for my elopement. COVID had disrupted our original wedding plans, and we decided with little notice to elope at the end of the month. Not only did Sonja respond right away with her availability and rates, she was immediately open to hearing what I was envisioning (despite the chaos and last minute nature!), allowed me to add my mom later on, and my sister day of as our plans evolved. Two days before our wedding it was supposed to thunderstorm, and due to COVID, we had to have our ceremony outside so we decided to move everything back by one day. Sonja got back to me immediately when I asked her about this, and was wonderfully agreeable!! I wasn't even able to confirm the start time until the night before and she was able to make it, arrived early, added my sister on last minute and was just a delight to work with! She was also incredibly safe and very well prepared to handle COVID safety measures. Oh, and the makeup was BEAUTIFUL! Could not recommend Sonja enough. She was absolutely fantastic in every way! -

We met her years ago and always stayed in contact, I was so excited when she was available to do the make-up for all of the girls for our wedding (5 of us). She is the absolute best and is so talented, a true artist! We all agreed that we felt like ourselves, just the best possible version. Will be hiring Sonja anytime we need our make-up done, from weddings to events and even for a special date night. We cannot recommend her highly enough to everyone! Thanks Sonja!

Kadie Sent on 09/19/2018Sonja went above and beyond for our wedding! Even from the practice run a few months before the wedding, I knew we had made the right decision to go with her. When it came to the day of, Sonja remembered everything we had discussed about my look. Sonja and Melissa arrived early, knew exactly where to set up for the proper lighting, and worked professionally with our hair stylists. My bride squad and I felt so comfortable with Sonja, and we all looked fabulous and felt confident for the wedding, photos, and reception. Her positivity is contagious and she is incredibly talented at makeup. Plus, I'm obsessed with the lipstick she recommended for me -- I want to use it for all my special events! Sonja really is SO good at what she does.

Talin Sent on 11/01/2017Sonja is amazing and she gave me exactly what I wanted for my wedding day this past September. I wanted a very natural, dewey look with a bit of drama, and that is exactly what I received! Sonja listened to my wishes and performed accordingly, giving me guidance where I was unsure. I was already convinced when I saw the photos on her website, but booking the trial with her confirmed my decision; not only was she very thorough, professional and informative about everything she was doing, but we had a great time! I felt like we became friends instantly. She's super friendly, relatable, hilarious and makes you feel like the most gorgeous person ever :) Her impressive resume and diverse range of experiences also ensured me that I was in great hands.
On my wedding day, Sonja was already at my venue when I got there, all set up and ready to go. She did myself, my mother, 2 of my sisters and 1 of my bridesmaids all in a couple of hours and we all felt fabulous. If you want an expert that knows what she's doing and will make the process fun and enjoyable, Sonja is the one to go with! I will definitely consider her for future events. -

User3086224 Sent on 06/10/2017Sonja was great! She recently did my bridal makeup, as well as makeup for my mom and two others at our hotel room in downtown Boston. I also did a trial with her a couple of months ahead of the wedding (she came to my house!) which helped me get to know her and think through a couple of day-of items. For someone you spend basically all morning with on your wedding day, Sonja was great! -- I picked her for the natural, pretty look she can create and her great reviews, and as hoped for she was communicative and organized leading up to the day, as well as prompt, warm, and not to mention talented with makeup! Thanks Sonja!! :) -

The trial sold me, and the wedding day was amazing. She not only did my makeup but put me at ease and made me feel extremely comfortable. She did my bridesmaids as well and everyone looked their best! I would hire her again in a heartbeat! If only she could do my makeup everyday. She made me feel like a movie star! I 100% recommend her! -
User2335264 Sent on 09/26/2015My sister had used Sonja for her wedding back in November 2014 and after seeing her work, I knew I had to contract with her. She is extremely professional and very quick to respond to any questions that you may have about your big day. I am someone who is quite particular about my makeup and often do not like it when others do it other than myself. This was certainly not the case with Sonja. From the trial to the actual wedding day my makeup was incredible. She knew exactly where to highlight on my skin so that it would show up wonderfully in pictures. My makeup was flawless and it didn't smudge or come off after hours of dancing. She even made up samples of lipsticks for my wedding party so that we could reapply as necessary on the wedding day. One of the biggest things I wanted to do on my wedding day was look like myself and not someone with a ton of makeup on. Sonja made me look my very best and brought out a better version of me that I have never seen before. She is amazing and I would 100% recommend her to any bride!!

User2216095 Sent on 07/08/2015Sonja was awesome! I was not intent on getting my makeup done professionally until my mother finally convinced me. I wanted to look natural, not made up. Sonja was awesome. She listened to my concerns and gently suggested a few things that I would normally not have done but I'm glad I did. She was able to do my makeup, my sister's and my mother's in a very hectic bridal suite within an hour and a half. Sonja is a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her! -

From the trial to the big day, Sonja was incredibly professional, responsive and helpful; it was clear that she wanted to make me and all of my bridal party look and feel beautiful! I'm not big on makeup, so I wanted a clean, subtle look for the wedding - Sonja worked with me to find exactly what I was looking for. Not only that, but she did a wonderful job on my mom and all 4 of my bridesmaids as well. I would highly recommend Sonja for any bride!! -

Sonja Gjokaj came to the wedding venue and took 1.5 hours to make the bride and me (Lady of Honor) look beautiful. She made this time so much fun, relaxing and very special. We met once before the wedding for a make up session. Sonja listened to our preferences and ideas and then added her artistic talents to make us look amazing. We highly recommend Sonja!
