  Food was better at the wedding than the tasting!

  First, quality of service: We got married at the end of May 2022, which was right in the heart of the post-COVID wedding surge. Despite how popular of a time it was to hire a caterer, Alyssa made us feel like we had nothing short of her full attention. I'm talking the kind of attention where we consistently got replies to our emails within the hour. She was very professional to work and interact with from the very beginning. The menu we originally suggested underwent numerous revisions and requests for her input and she guided us to what turned out to be an amazing dinner for us and our guests. Additionally, every SC associate (Alyssa included) who worked the stations at our wedding was very polite and friendly to chat with as we ate. One thing I especially appreciated was that we were able to give updates on our guest count and even changes to our menu up until very close to the wedding - the flexibility SC provided was something I didn't expect when some of our other vendors required final planning months in advance.
  The food: In short, amazing. Even better the day of the wedding than at the tasting. Every item on our menu was reported to be at least one of our guests favorite. Everything was exactly as we expected it to be and the options offered by SC really let us customize the feel of our wedding to be exactly what we were looking for. Even the fun, cultural items (e.g. two varieties of gourmet grilled cheese and the shrimp and grits) that I would say are hard to pull off just because everyone has a favorite version of it became everyone's new favorite. Not only that, but we even got to take some food home the next day because there was PLENTY of offered - running out of food for our guests was never in the cards. Our verdict is that we are happy we chose SC to cater our wedding and would highly recommend them for yours as well.

  100% Recommend this Caterer!

  Catherine helped us with SO much along the way. She was so responsive and accommodating, it made everything so easy for us! The food was EXCELLENT. So many people came up to me and told me how good the food was....and how often does that happen at weddings? Definitely recommend them!!

  Amazing Wedding Catering Experience (Even through COVID)

  Something Classic was the best!! We worked directly with Alyssa and truly can't thank her enough for being so responsive and professional throughout this 2+ year experience. She changed our menu and went through options both for food and settings until we were totally content and excited about what we picked. We knew at the tasting that it was delicious food, but it seriously turned out to SO GOOD.

  Delicious variety with great service

  We used Something Classic for our Rehearsal Dinner hosted at our home and Reception at the Mint Museum Uptown. Our guests raved about their food for both events. At the Rehearsal Dinner, which was a southern BBQ buffet, our servers were an absolute dream. At one point after they had mostly packed up, our guests started taking some food out of the fridge, so they unpacked, served seconds (thirds, fourths..), and packed right back up. The kitchen was left in better condition than when they arrived! At the Reception, we served a more classic American meal with Italian influences, and again service was wonderful. Definitely recommend them for any of your wedding events!

  Great staff and food!

  Something Classic catered my cocktail hour and reception at the Mint Museum Uptown. They were wonderful! They have a very diverse menu of options and when I visited for my tasting, they really treated us like queens! The tasting was in a beautiful little room where the table was decorated like an actual table at a wedding and they brought in the food, took notes, and were open to making some changes to the ingredients as well to accommodate us! Our guests raved about the food at the cocktail hour and reception all night and also how friendly all of the staff was - shout out to Chuck, our bartender :) Alyssa was my main contact at SC and she was super helpful, thoughtful, and really great at giving us ideas and answering questions. I loved working with Something Classic and would highly recommend them!

  Wonderful Caterer!

  My husband and I hired Something Classic Catering for our wedding, and I highly recommend them! Alyssa was incredibly helpful throughout our entire planning process. She was always very responsive, was willing to make several changes to our contract based on our needs, and made the process fun! From countless emails sent back and forth, to our tasting, and the day of our wedding, Alyssa and the Something Classic team did an amazing job. Almost every guest we talked to at our wedding commented on how delicious our food was, and they're still talking about it almost two months later. Also, our wedding cake was by far the best cake I've ever had. If you're looking for a catering company that is easy to work with, helpful, and that provides amazing food, call Something Classic!

  The Best Food!

  Something Classic was a great value!!
  The high points:
  -delicious food (far above average)
  -we were able to craft a sort-of custom menu based on their existing entree and hors d'oeuvres (that said, their existing offerings are wonderfully diverse)
  -they made an adorable and super-convenient take-home basket that included an extra meal of each entree and appetizers (and cake), so we didn't have to worry about meals the day after our wedding
  -wait staff were so friendly and checked with us throughout the night to make sure we had any food and drinks we wanted
  -Kristina worked with us to update our order many times from contract to event, and was always patient and responsive with our questions and changes
  -tasting was great, and they took notes on exactly what we wanted to alter for the day-of
  -price was a really great value for what we got, especially considering how delicious the food was
  -they took great care to operator sustainably, by recycling the bottles/cans, avoiding plastic products (e.g. bamboo stir sticks instead of plastic), etc.

  The food was absolutely delicious! We had a buffet style reception and Something Classic offered us a bunch of different options. The menu we ultimately selected was great and all of our guests told us they loved the food. They also offered us a full tasting of the dishes we selected prior to the wedding so we knew just what we were getting. We would definitely recommend them!

They even cut my cake and served it for free!! They cleaned up in a timely manner and didn't leave a huge mess behind them. They even packed us a to go basket with full plates and cake complete with cups, napkins and plastic ware for the night.   We worked with Catherine at Something Classic for our wedding and I can say that our entire experience with Something Classic from the beginning until the end was absolutely phenomenal. They are extremely professional, answered my millions of questions (fully and promptly), and worked with us on creating the perfect menu. We also used them for linens, cupcakes (we did this instead of a cake), and uplighting. The food tasted incredible at our taste testing, but we were worried that it would not be as good when made in bulk- we definitely worried for no reason, the food was INCREDIBLE on our wedding day! I can not tell you how many of our guests came up to us and told us how amazing the food was and we had multiple guests going up for seconds and thirds (of the buffet and the cupcakes). Their catering staff was so incredibly friendly and made sure that we had anything we wanted during the reception. They provided us with a basket full of food and cupcakes at the end of the reception which was devoured by us and our friends the next day (still tasted amazing). We would not have changed a thing and VERY HIGHLY recommend using Something Classic!!!

  Something Classic did an amazing job catering our wedding this past weekend at The Mint Museum Uptown! The communication we had with Catherine leading up to the event was always a delight! She answered all of my questions in a timely manner and was so pleasant to work with! Not only was the food amazing, but the catering staff did a phenomenal job! They were never in the way, but some how still managed to always have tables cleared and food out for our guests. We also had an open bar that they staffed, and we have received SO many complements on how smoothly that ran. The bartenders were quick and so friendly!! We highly recommend Something Classic for your wedding catering!

  Wow! Daisy Catering (Something Classic's catering division) was AMAZING! The food was wonderful, we have had so many compliments on our menu! The staff was so helpful and went above and beyond to make our reception go smoothly. The staff also stayed after the reception to help our wedding planner break down all the tables and chairs and help clean-up.

  Something Classic serves delicious food! Catherine and all of the staff were lovely and such a pleasure to work with! The only thing I would say as constructive feedback would be that some of our guests were served dinner immediately while others waited quite a bit of time before being served. But once everyone got their food they were very happy with the quality and taste! And I cannot say enough how wonderful all of the servers were and the entire team!

  We had an amazing experience with Something Classic as they were extremely easy to work with for all of our catering the day of our wedding. The food was outstanding and have heard over and over again from all of our guests how delicious their meals were. We couldn't have asked for anything better and appreciate how easy it was to work with Something Classic.

  We are repeat customers of Something Classic. The ability and professionalism of Something Classic to provide an amazing event is second to none. My guest have not stopped commenting on how spectacular our food was at our wedding. I will definitely use Something Classic for any future catered events.

  We cannot thank Something Classic enough for our yummy reception food! Catherine was such a dear to work with! She helped us narrow down the types of food and the right amount and was such a pleasure to be around!!
  
  Our guest are still raving about how delicious are good was, especially the loaded potato bar and the fried mac and cheese pops! Presentation was beautiful and the servers and bartenders were so kind!!

  We had our reception at the Mint Museum Atrium in Uptown Charlotte and they are that space;s caterer and frankly was the easiest choice because everything was good!! I saw the "mashed potato bar" and I was set but I could go on and on from the cocktail hour Gazpacho Shooters and Rosemary Shrimp Skewers and bite size "fried chicken on sugar skewers" with honey mustard OMG yum it was all so great! Then inside the "Pasta Bar" "Salmon" "Slider's Station" with burgers, fried green tomatoes and barbecue sliders- everyone was happy! We loved working with Catherine and the whole group at Something Classic and I have been a fan for years and was so glad to work with them for the food we served at the reception- thanks for everything!

  We loved working with Something Classic! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! We met with them months before the wedding for a tasting and to discuss details. They provided our plates, cutlery, napkins, glasses, etc. as well as a coffee bar, drinks, and a great buffet. The mashed potato bar was a hige hit with our guests! They also cut and served the cake. Their team helped make the reception perfect!

  Something Classic saved the day with our catering. We had a last minute change up and needed a company that would provide wonderful service on short notice and Something Classic really delivered for us. The spread was really gorgeous and everyone complimented how delicious the food was. They also put together a basket for my husband and I to take with us to the hotel room since we were unable to really eat during the event. That saved me! I would definitely recommend them.

We were so impressed with their food and service we didn't feel that we needed to talk with anyone else and we were SO pleased with our choice. We worked with Catherine for the catering portion and she was a total dream to work with. She always answered all my questions quickly (even those not related to our catering directly) and in the most constructive and helpful way possible. She met with us several times, even at our site, to make sure all the details were coordinated. The day of the wedding they could not have made everything any easier for us. I barely even noticed the catering staff and when I did it was only to notice what an amazing job they were doing. They truly went above and beyond. I almost wish I could get married again just to have them do our catering.

  Get the Mac and Cheese bar

  Something Classic catered our Mint Museum wedding and all the food was great. Jill was easy to work with and provided lots of suggestions to help put together a really diverse menu. Our guests have all raved about how good the food was. The build your own Mac and cheese bar and build your own mashed potato bars were big hits.

  Great Food!

  My husband and I hired Something Classic to cater our wedding at the Levine Museum, and we are so glad we did!
  
  Alyssa was very responsive while we were shopping for our caterer - she even stayed late to discuss our options with us one weeknight before signing the contract, which is a HUGE help for busy working professionals.
  
  Something Classic allowed us to choose from several menus that offered a wide range of options at a variety of price points, which was incredibly helpful while we tried to keep our budget in check. (Try the spicy mac & cheese lollipops if you get a chance - SO GOOD!) They were also willing to work with us to make modifications to our proposal to keep the overall cost down. Best of all, our guests LOVED the food!
