  Cant beat a full dance floor

  These guys are a MUST for an over the top wedding experience!! They keep the dance floor full with their stellar vocals, musicianship and song list- literally something for everyone in the crowd. Something blu is so active on the stage and dance floor with their choreography-they are the dance partner you need for your wedding!!

  Worth Every Penny

  Wow wow wow wow! Where to even begin?! Something Blu was an absolute HIT at our wedding!!! These guys are the real deal and are SO much fun to work with!!!! We knew we always wanted a band at our wedding and Something Blu confirmed every reason why (and more!). Our guests are STILL talking about how amazing the band was and how much fun they had. The dance floor was FULL all night long! They have the most incredible energy both on and off stage, they MC the entire evening, and you can rely on them to handle the evening timeline so you don’t have to worry about a thing! Matty even gave my husband a shirt so he could have an outfit change too, haha. Not to mention, they will learn any song you want custom with your package (and you can pay for more, which we did and was worth every penny). They know how to read their audience. They know what they are doing to ensure ALL guests have a good time. Book them and let them do their thing and I promise you will not regret having this band at your wedding!

  This band is truly amazing! I wrote a glowing review on he knot and meant every word of it! I wish everyone could experience what we did that night, because of something blu we had an absolutely perfect wedding reception. If you are at all interested in live music, I say hire this band! They are seriously incrible, best decision we have ever made!

  Best music I have ever experienced at a wedding before. I hired Something Blu to perform for our wedding reception. The guys are really great to work with and they did an amazing job getting the crowd involved. The band listed to any concerns that I had and went out of their way to make sure my partner and I were very happy! The band has a great music selection and I love that they learned a few new songs for our wedding! The band was fun and I loved the change in costume for the half way point! The band brings an amazing energy to your wedding. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for music for their wedding reception! DJs are great but to bring on the live music is way better. People were having more fun at our wedding reception than I have seen at a lot of other receptions I have been to. We were their first gay wedding and the guys were completely comfortable with everything! I love these guys and cannot wait to go see them when they perform around town!

  This band was awesome! We took a chance on Something Blu and booked them for our wedding … despite never seeing them play. We chose them based on their song list since we wanted contemporary and pop music. They exceeded our expectations! The band was reasonably priced (on the cheaper end of the 10+ bands we got quotes from), willing to travel over 100+ miles, great at entertaining the crowd, very talented, and classy. Everything they did was entertaining for the party crowd, but appropriate for parents and grandparents as well. They learned three songs for us at our request, one even being a Mariah Carey song. After having Something Blu as part of our wedding day, I would never understand why someone would choose a typical wedding DJ over a live band. It was by far worth the money spent! Many of our guests have told us it was the best wedding reception they have ever attended. I attribute that to Something Blu and a Halloween Wedding Costume party!

  A+ for this AMAZING band! They come highly recommended from us! I noticed that they had great reviews on the Knot so we decided to give them a call. They didn't have many videos to see their previous performances but they immediately offered an invite to their band practice to hear them play. We had a great time with them. We knew right away that we wanted them to play for our big day. Not only do they have a good selection of songs but they are just fun people to be around. They let us pick as many songs as we would like for them to learn before the big day which I have never seen before. There were a few songs that were popular during our engagement that they were able to learn very quickly. We received so many compliments from people who attended our reception saying "where did you find these guys", "they are amazing", "this was the best wedding dance we have ever been too" and the list goes on and on. They were very interactive with our group and got even the "non-dancers" to the dance floor. By the end of the night, everyone was dancing which is what you hope for in a reception. We didn't have to tell them what songs to play, they just know what works. Once we booked them, we knew that they would take care of the music and they would make sure the night would be a hit! If you are searching for an affordable, fun, talented band to play for your reception, give Matty-T a call and BOOK THEM!   Let me start by saying I have relatives who are now planning a backyard party next summer solely for the purpose of having Something Blu come and perform because they had so much fun.
  
  Something Blu was the perfect band for our reception. They did everything flawlessly from start to finish: walking around and individually serenading our guests during cocktail hour; doing an incredible job emceeing the entire evening to keep things flowing; and playing the most incredible playlist of songs to keep the dance floor overflowing the whole night. They brought so much personality and fun to our reception. And were great about traveling the 2 hours to rural Iowa to perform. You guys are the best and I will always recommend you to people getting married in the area!

  Thank you for the wonderful review. Coming to your parent's house was like being transported to another world. The backyard was so perfectly manicured from the landscaping to the lighting, not to mention the beautiful dance floor! I still tell people it was like walking into the final scenes of "Father of the Bride". Also, your crowd was so dedicated to dancing and celebrating your big day, I dont think we have ever had the dance floor going so late. Congratulations and thanks for having us!

Whereas most bands can only go up to ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. Where can Something Blu go from there? Where? 11, and that's exactly where Something Blu took the party.
  
  These guys did it all. Behind the energy-filled fun that gave us & our guests, there was also a much-appreciated sense of professionalism & respect for the details; evidenced in their suggestion to meet with us in advance and to carefully walk through the upcoming wedding day (Thanks Logan). They also proactively met with our wedding coordinator to ensure everything went well.
  
  They nailed it by providing (i.) the instrumental music during our ceremony, (ii.) "crooning" / Frank Sinatra music towards the beginning of the ceremony, which was spot-on (some folks thought Aaron was lip-syncing; it was just that good, & (iii.) they absolutely rocked it during the reception! Not only are they great musicians, they are also great entertainers. They engaged our guests with the full use of their wireless instruments; often times rocking out on chairs and even table tops to ignite the party. It was legendary and our guests are still talking about them! Their performance will live on into eternity via several of our guests' social media posts!

  Something Blu played at our wedding on 9/5/15 in Des Moines, Iowa. They are the best. They play a wide range of music, are reasonably priced, and have a unique personality that is hard to find in other wedding bands. They will go all out for you. Our guests (old and young) are still raving about the music at our wedding and how much fun the band was. Even though our wedding day was a scorcher, Something Blu played with a high amount of energy and enthusiasm throughout the night. I was impressed.
  
  Throughout the planning process, Something Blu was extremely responsive and flexible in making sure all the music details were taken care of. On the wedding day, they arrived on time, were prepared, and paid special attention to details such as how to pronounce each name of the wedding party for the grand entrance. They are a professional group to work with, yet know how to let loose and start the party when the time is right. I recommend going to see Blu Simon play before your wedding day. It will set your mind at ease that your guests are sure to be entertained!

We hadn't meet the guys from Something Blu in-person before our big day, but they were very helpful during the entire planning process. They always answered my emails and questions promptly and thoroughly - even though I had 1000 questions.
