Do Not Get Married Without So Chic!

We hired Sara for her full coordination package and it was the BEST decision we made in our entire planning process. We had a short, 6-month engagement, and had a small 30 person wedding due to COVID, but we did an elaborate live stream feed so there was still a lot to stress about. But Sara just made everything so easy! She handled the big stuff, the communication between vendors and the venue, the day-of timeline, she helped us choose a venue that was absolutely perfect that we didn’t even know existed, she ran the show on our wedding day so we could just enjoy everything, she was there for any questions we had and any bride freak out moments I had (hehe) and we even had her design all of the room decor and flowers. We had no idea what anything was going to look like until the rehearsal, and it was absolutely amazing. I could just go on and on all day on how wonderful Sara and So Chic Events are, and how blessed we are that she was a part of our day! It was everything we dreamed of!!

Wonderful, and saved us so much stress!

We had a tight timeline for the wedding - about six months. Sara helped take so much of the minutia off of our plate, and made it so much easier and so much less stressful than it otherwise would have been. We were able to focus on the things which were important to us, and she laid out everything we needed to do and when. She put together some wonderful designs and colors, coordinated with vendors, handled all of the added complexity and stress from COVID, and just made the whole day come together so beautifully. We can't imagine having done that successfully without her.

The Best Wedding Planner Is A Must!

I want to begin with how on earth do you even plan a wedding without a wedding planner!
My husband and I booked the best wedding planner in my area and it was worth every penny. Sara with So Chic Events made the whole wedding planning process completely stress free for us and most importantly a stress free wedding day! There were a few hick ups throughout and on the wedding day as well that I didn't even know about until way after because Sara took care of everything! She is very personable, understands what you want and makes sure you get what you want.

Sara and So Chic Events are literal lifesavers and an absolute must for your wedding. Sara is truly amazing— so creative, knowledgeable about the industry and the area, and constantly goes above and beyond for her clients. Sara has your back and will do whatever it takes to make sure your wedding day is the most beautiful, joyful, and memorable day of your life. She is a true gem and an amazing human who we are so happy to have had in our corner during the wedding planning process.

The venue my husband and I chose for our wedding ended up being less than ideal and a huge headache to deal with throughout our two year engagement. When I say Sara went above and beyond to ensure that we dealt with as little stress as possible pertaining to our venue— I really mean it. She fielded in person meetings, phone calls, and emails from our venue, so that we could stay blissfully unaware of the true nightmare that I’m sure was happening behind the scenes and enjoy every minute of our engagement. Even better— when our wedding day came around, it would have appeared to us and all of our guests that there were no bumps in the road or hiccups along the way (including the day of!). It was the most gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, happy, memorable day ever. Sara was there the entire day, as well as the day before, running around to make sure that every detail was handled— which is never an easy job for a wedding planner, but even more so when she was dealing with our venue. We owe it all to her!

Do not hesitate to book So Chic Events for your wedding or party. You won’t regret it for a second!

Absolutely Amazing! Hands down a must!!!

Sara was a lifesaver and a miracle worker! She organized our dream wedding in 6 weeks under covid conditions and absolutely nailed it! We had a stunning wedding and everything was smooth! Sara is like the maid of honor you alway dreamed of!

Sara has more knowledge and expertise about weddings and planning than I even thought was possible! I put my whole trust in her and what she thought would work and what wouldn't and she blew me out of the water! She was so sweet and kind to work with, felt like she was my backstage maid of honor. Best wedding ever, thanks to Sara

Where do I even begin to start with Sara? I first heard of Sara & So Chic Events a few years ago when I saw somebody else had hired her for their wedding. I remembered how beautiful she made their wedding reception.. and it WAS a dream reception. My wedding was a COVID wedding that was to be in May at a reception venue, but got pushed back to October. When COVID restrictions did not lighten, and our venue cancelled all events in the middle of summer, we moved our wedding to a shed/barn on my husband’s family farm. I knew I would not be able to do/handle everything on my own; rentals, decorating, planning an entirely new wedding, etc. I needed somebody with a creative mindset and positivity (which she definitely delivered on)! At that point, I reached out to Sara and was VERY happy to hear that she was available. From the very first meeting with her to the day of the wedding, Sara was consistent, helpful, and working harder than ever to make sure the stress would be off of us and that she was taking care of every large and small detail. I truly felt at ease and that we were in good hands when I left my first meeting with her. It is very hard having to postpone your wedding due to something that is out of your control, but we knew we had made the right decision in hiring her and that she would completely exceed our expectations. I wish we would have had even more time together, and that I would have hired her from the beginning, but I know I will always remember her as the person who went above and beyond for me/us, and made our day more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I truly have never seen anything like what she put together for us, it was the prettiest wedding I had ever been to and it was mine!! I highly recommend Sara if you want a stress free, happy, beautiful wedding day. Best decision I ever made was reaching out to Sara. She (with the help of the amazing vendors she works with) turned our shed into a beautiful reception venue. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Sara for everything you did! You deserve all the great things life has to offer and more.

Sara with So Chic, September Wedding

Sara with So Chic is a must. Even during Covid times this year, she managed to make everything run so smooth. My wife and I got the go ahead from our venue 2 months before our wedding to proceed and that's when we hired Sara with So Chic as we needed the extra help (a lot of it). Unbelievable experience and she makes sure every little detail is taken care. Worth every penny and trust me, you'd pay more if you knew how much stress would be alleviated to get everything perfect.

Sara is one of the kindest individuals that I have ever met. Her heart of gold and upbeat attitude always makes you feel like everything will be okay, even when you’re on your 3rd wedding date due to the pandemic. Sara made Chris and I’s wedding even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. She handled all of the crazy turns of the pandemic in stride and took care of everything for us. Sara O’Shea

Talk about the best wedding planner that money could buy!! Not only do you get her but her fabulous team that makes the day go without a hitch. As a bride the only thing I had to worry about was walking down the aisle. Sara had it so I didn’t have to fret about anything other than myself, and with a busy day like a wedding it definitely is hard to focus on yourself. She made it happen. I never felt so beautiful in an even more beautiful place because she remembers those small details and goes the extra mile so that your wedding day is special. My husband and I had a very popular color palette of the season but she made it look like I have never seen the color combination together. She has the best recommendations for major vendors, such as DJ, decor and floral, cake, you name it!! She even found an ice sculpture and string quartet!! I would not do my wedding any different because she wasn’t just there for the good she was there to conquer the bumps along the way. I felt like I had not only a planner but an ally and friend. She was wonderful to work with and made things so easy. I always dreamed about my wedding day, as many women do, but she exceed every expectation and every wildest dream. Sara by far made our wedding day the BEST DAY EVA! 15/10 recommended!!

Best Decision of Our Wedding

It would not be an exaggeration to say that other than deciding to marry my husband, choosing to have So Chic plan and coordinate our date was the best decision I made. It's like I had a best friend on the inside - someone who knew what they were doing and treated us and our day like we were her best friends getting married and she wanted the world for us. Professional, knowledgable, problem-solving, thoughtful, and wicked talented, Sara O'Shea and the So Chic team are everything you want in your corner on your wedding day. Would reccomend 1000x over.

Beyond Happy!

I hired Sara as a full time wedding planner for my wedding this past July and words cannot express how happy I am that I did. I was a 100% DIY bride. I'm OCD organized, have a degree in interior design, and I had no interest in a wedding planner. I was completely capable, right?! Truth is, no one is - except the experts like Sara! From the minute I met her, Sara understood my (VERY uncommon) vision and was onboard with all my DIY aspirations. She was cautious and truthful when needed, but most important she was ALWAYS in my corner - and trust me - that is something money can't buy. Not only is Sara beyond capable with her years of experience, she is a genuine, good hearted person. She took on my wedding as it was her own and I still feel to this day like she cared as much about it as I did. I truly believe that my wedding wouldn't have been nearly as special as it was if she wasn't there making sure everything behind the scenes flowed together. Thank you Sara & team!

My husband and I loved working with Sara! She was very experienced and knew her stuff. She was helpful in many different ways from: proper wedding etiquette, details for bridal party decisions, room layout, timeline, vendors to use and more. She made me feel calm and I always knew I was in good hands with her. I never had to question anything or worry. I tell everyone getting married, hire a wedding planner and better yet hire Sara with So Chic Events. Ultimately, Sara is genuine and patient. Sara and her So Chic crew are amazing!!!

Sara and her team at So Chic hit it out of the park! We took advantage of the Full Service package and had Sara plan our wedding, which we would recommend to anyone!

Sara always made time to sit down with us and have an extensive planning session, which was invaluable given that we were planning a wedding in Peoria while living 300 miles away. Even before we formally booked her help, Sara sat down with us and talked through a general timeline. We greatly appreciated Sara's vendor contacts and ability to narrow down our options to vendors she thought would best meet our needs, which saved a lot of time and ensured we had an awesome team on board for our big day.

As we got closer to our wedding, Sara fielded a ton of emails from us. This became our primary method of planning, and it worked perfectly. We felt on track and in the know on everything that was happening even though we were far away. Sara did a great job of consolidating things that we needed to be present for so that we could knock as many of those things out as possible on each of our trips to Peoria.

The day of our wedding, we could not have possibly asked for more from Sara and her team. We’re sure there were a million things being coordinated in the background, but it didn’t feel like it to us because things just happened and looked even better than we’d imagined.

In summary, if you want to have a dream wedding with a stress-free planning process, work with So Chic!

Sara and Co. is the best thing that could have happened

We had the opportunity to work with Sara after we fired our first planner, and we are so glad we did. Sara was truly amazing to work with. From our first meeting through the entire process, she took the details and our vision very seriously. We had an idea of what we wanted, we just had no idea how to put it all together; insert Sara. Sara was one of the best choices we made when planning our wedding and one that we placed a lot of trust and faith in; she did not disappoint. Sara did such an amazing job taking some of our ideas, expanding on them and turning our private property into a magical scenery. Our guests can not stop reminiscing about the evening and how beautiful everything turned out. Our day and night would not have been what it was without Sara. She is an amazing planner, but more importantly, she’s a great person. Her and her team are genuinely there to help YOU and make your day the best it can be. We can’t thank Sara and her team enough for the help and guidance they gave to create such a wonderful evening. Love Sara and So Chic Events!

Where to begin? There are so many great things I could say about Sara and So Chic Events! My mom and I had so many ideas for our wedding – and while my mom was able to make many of those ideas a reality – there were still certain things that we needed help finding, planning out and/or executing. That is when we decided we should meet with Sara. After our first meeting, we knew we had found the perfect wedding planner-fit! Sara had all of the answers to our (long) list of questions and put us at ease every step of the way – assuring us that everything would come together perfectly. It was so nice knowing we had someone there on the day of the wedding who knew all of our plans, down to the placement of the napkins and candles on the tables. That meant we could enjoy the day getting ready and spending time with our friends and family, rather than worrying about setting up the venue and making sure everything/everyone was in the right place at the right time. Sara’s attention to detail is second to none; she won’t let you forget anything and will help you make decisions that are not always fun or easy to make. We’re so thankful for all of Sara’s help making our wedding day everything we wanted and so much more (even when it all happened in the middle of a winter snowstorm!). We would 100% recommend Sara and So Chic Events for all things event planning!

Best wedding planner ever!!!

I cannot recommend So Chic Events enough. When I first got engaged, I thought I might need someone to help me plan my wedding and put it all together. I set up a meeting with Sara and knew from the first meeting that she was the perfect fit for us. Sara has so much experience and brought up so many things throughout the planning process that I never would have even thought of. Our wedding day was an absolute dream and I couldn’t imagine our day without Sara there. The day went perfectly and she was right there to help with everything and had a quick solution to anything we needed. I’m so thankful for all of her help and all the hard work she did during our engagement and on our wedding day.

Surprise Christmas Wedding

Sara and her team at So Chic are simply amazing! She's planned a couple of Christmas parties for me in the past, so when it came down to a surprise Christmas wedding, there was no question who to hire. Sara has impeccable taste, and I trusted her explicitly in creating a magical event. No detail was left uncovered. Although I chose the venue, Sara was given creative license to cover the rest. When it came down to room reveal, no words could express how beautiful a scene she created. It was so much more than I had expected. I only wish every bride had the opportunity to work with Sara. Wedding planning and prep was smootless - I didn't have to stress or worry!

We would do it again!

Sara's attention to detail is unequaled. Her organizational skills are unparalleled. Her firm, direct, yet polite, demeanor is probably underappreciated. Our wedding presented unique challenges. The setting and the number of people we asked Sara to work with could have been a "deal breaker." But Sara took it all in stride, and we believe it was the BEST wedding we've ever attended!

Amazing Surprise wedding

We had an amazing experience with Sara planning our surprise wedding. We gave her complete control of the decor and she did NOT disappoint! The venu was amazing, the decor was beautiful and natural. The 15’ live Christmas trees behind the altar we gorgeous. It could not have been a more beautiful evening.

Our best decision.

Hiring Sara was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. I had never been to a wedding before, so we had no idea where to start planning. From start to finish she walked us through everything! She is SO organized. If we had any questions, she was always so easy to contact & quick to reply! She had great vendor suggestions! We were always told he had the "A" team from dj, to flowers, to cake, etc. On the day of the wedding, she took care of everything! Our only focus was on enjoying our day and spending time with our family and friends. She was there for me the whole day, and I am so grateful for her! She is one of the hardest working, and kind hearted people. I will be forever grateful for everything she did to help plan our perfect day.

we booked with sara to coordinate our wedding day and we'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. she was AMAZING!! she responds to emails all hours of the day, texts you to see how you're doing and literally thinks of every little detail leading up to your wedding day. we were hardly stressed about the wedding and we owe it all to sara! 100% would recommend booking one of the fabulous ladies at so chic!!

Working with Sara O'Shea and her staff was an amazing experience! I can truly not put into words all that she did for me as a bride. If you want to work with someone who knows wedding planning....go with Sara. Her organization and professionalism left even my wedding guests in awe. She seriously knew what I wanted before I did. Not only that, but she thought of all the minute details one would never think of. I live in Madison WI and was able to meet with Sara about 3-4 times, and then she put everything into action. When I would be home for a weekend, Sara made time to see me so I didn't need to make any extra trips! I was not exactly sure what I wanted in the beginning, and she helped my fiance and I see the big picture. On the wedding day, I don't know what I would have done without her. She told us where to go, what to do, it was amazing. My fiance and I were so grateful to have someone who was all hands on deck for the ceremony and reception. Not only did she help us out, but she helped my mother out as well. She took the responsibility out of her hands and allowed her to enjoy the big day. I could not recommend Sara as well as her staff at So Chic enough. She is worth every penny. The staff was so sweet to work with as well, they made us feel right at home and helped create the most special day for us :)

Sara was absolutely phenomenal. She took care of everything with the utmost professionalism. She was quick to respond to all of our texts/emails and worked well with not only us, but also our parents. Where to even begin? Our wedding was full of amazing vendors and wonderful people, but I think my husband and I can agree that choosing Sara/So Chic might be our favorite decision of all. Not only was she organized, professional, and knowledgeable, but she is truly passionate about her job which makes her that much more enjoyable to work with. Any time I had a question (about literally anything) I could email or text her, and she would get back to me right away with wonderful advice! By the end of our wedding, she really felt more like a friend! She took our vision and made it more perfect than we ever could have imagined. She also stayed organized with everything from vendors, to timelines, and budgeting. She introduced us to most of our other wonderful vendors, and together, they made it such a perfect day. She was the reason I was able to truly enjoy every part of the wedding planning process, and really wasn’t stressed at all! Our wedding was the most amazing day and I am 100% confident it wouldn’t have been as perfect without Sara and her team! I could not recommend So Chic Events enough!!!

Sara and I worked for over a year on my wedding. She was patient during changes, organized excellent vendors and stood by me the entire day. Our wedding was above and beyond beautiful and I credit her for the implementation. Thank you, Sara!

Looking for a wedding planner who goes above and beyond to guarantee a smooth, beautiful and stress-free day? Someone who will make your guest say, "This was the most beautiful wedding I have EVER been to" ? Well, Sara and her team are for you! We absolutely loved working with Sara and her team at So Chic Events! Sara was able to envision every detail of our wedding day and created a more beautiful day than we even imagined! It is typically hard to impress my husband. When we walked in to the Embassy Suites, his mouth was on the floor, he was in such awe! Our guest were also SO amazed at how elegant and beautiful the room was!! To top it all of, my husband and I moved to Alabama in the middle of our wedding planning experience, and Sara made it all so easy! Sara handled communication with vendors, and included me in the emails so I was aware of what they were discussing. Working with So Chic Events was the best decision we made. We couldn't believe how stress-free we felt leading up to the wedding, which gave us time to enjoy all of the special moments fully. Without Sara, I would have never been able to have the fairy tale wedding of my dreams. Not only that, but she made everything so easy. We were able to sit back and relax while she did the heavy work. After speaking to several friends (about planning a wedding); it sounds like she even prevented a lot of possible animosity that could arise between family members (or even bride and groom). Her attention to detail is impeccable. Sara thinks of things that I would have never been able to imagine. She sent us options of vendors within our budget. She was always able to provide suggestions and ideas that were within our budget. Sometimes we didn't always listen, but that was on us. :) There are not enough great things to say about her. My husband and I both agree, that hiring her was the best decision we ever made. Sara made this whole process so much fun and I am going to miss working with her. She is a true delight!

Sara O'Shea of So Chic Events planned my daughter's wedding from beginning to end. My daughter hired her to do everything. Wedding day was PERFECT!! My daughter wanted to be surprised with the final details, so Sara and I planned everything together from table decor to flowers to rentals. She was very mindful of our budget and our needs. She was always on top of things and made sure we were always on track. My daughter and I were able to enjoy the whole process without all the worry and work. I have to say hiring Sara of So Chic Events was the smartest thing we did when my daughter got engaged.

We hired So Chic Events to do the day-of coordination for our wedding, and we could not be happier! I was a little hesitant about hiring a coordinator, because I thought my mom and I could handle it, but when I found out we had to have all our décor out of our venue the same evening, I realized I would rather have my mom spending time with me that day instead of working like a crazy person, so I met with Sara to discuss our options. We ended up choosing a day-of coordinator, which means we did all the planning, but our coordinator would execute the day so that my people could be with me instead of doing set-up and teardown. It was hands down the best decision we made! We worked with Keri as our coordinator, who is absolutely incredible—she is so sweet and so experienced! We met a few times in the months leading up to the wedding, and she was always organized and up to date on what I had changed (I had added her to our wedding Google Drive folder & she always knew when I updated something, even before we would meet!) She had great ideas and suggestions for how to make things flow and how to make sure even the tiniest of details were taken care of—she even ended up covering small organizational jobs I had assigned to other people for the wedding day, because she is absolutely magic! She had talked to all our vendors beforehand, knew our ushers and bridal party by name, and had even come early the day before our wedding to start setting up, just because she could! She was both professional and warm, and she was able to go with the flow and keep everything flowing smoothly, even when we had a small technical difficulty from another vendor. If anything went wrong on our wedding day, I don’t even know about it—and that’s the dream!! I cannot recommend So Chic & their coordination services highly enough; they are great people, and they do an amazing job!!

Sara, aka My Fairy Godmother, made all of my wedding dreams come true. I have a unique style and also tend to be bit indecisive, she was amazing putting up with both of those issues during the planning process. Not only did she listen to my crazy ideas, she (and the team around her) made each vision come to life without batting an eye. Our day would not have been the same without her. 10/10!

Sara was, simply put, the smartest decision we made in all of our wedding planning. We were planning a wedding in Peoria while living in NYC, and her help in planning every step along the way was invaluable. She coordinated with all of our vendors and took all of the leg work out of that aspect. She organized all of our decor and organized the entire event. And all of the paper goods we needed were perfectly done. Not to mention in all of this, her management of the actual wedding day (keeping everyone on time, set up and take down of decor, etc.) could not have been better. Would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Sara is WONDERFUL! She helped plan my wedding from start to finish. She took so much stress off my parents and I both during the planning process and on the wedding day itself. The best decision we made was contracting with Sara O’Shea at So Chic Events to help us put together a spectacular wedding and reception for our daughter’s October wedding. Sara listened to us every step of the way, and she was able to bring our daughter’s wedding vision to reality.
Sara is a true professional. She is knowledgeable, creative and has a wonderful relationship with the many vendors we worked with. There was no problem or issue that she couldn’t deal with. She gave us advice, answered our many questions, and helped us try to stay within our wedding budget.
When we finally reached the day of the of the wedding, we felt like we have made a very dear friend.

So Chic made our wedding unforgettable. My husband and I worked with Sara and we couldn’t ask for anything more from her. She respected our budget, gave us outstanding options, and truly created the wedding of our dreams. From the atmosphere to the photographer to the decorations, there was nothing we would have changed. Sara and team are organized, connected, reliable and overall fantastic. Our wedding turned out beautifully and within budget. Sara was always available for questions or concerns. Sara was so helpful when it came to the wedding planning process! She was the first thing we booked (before we had even officially set the date!) and was there throughout the entire process. She had great recommendations for vendors and even got us some discounts along the way. I cannot say enough good things about Sara. She did an absolutely fantastic job the day of the wedding and also the day before at the rehearsal. We had an inexperienced officiant, and Sara took control and lead everyone through their roles. We had 12 attendants, and the rehearsal went smoothly. We were able to enjoy the rehearsal dinner that much more, and lessened our pre-wedding day anxiety.
She made my daughter's wedding wonderfully perfect. She was super organized and I was not worried about a single thing the whole day and night. I had so many compliements about Sara from people at the wedding. I highly recommend Sara for your wedding!!!!!!!!!

I know we could not have put on my daughters beautiful wedding without Sara. Her knowledge of the vendors and willingness to work with the decorations we had saved us time and money. She was never more than a text or phone call away. She ran the rehearsal and the wedding day, leaving us to enjoy the day. She cleans up and loads it into your car at the end of the night. Five stars ALL AROUND! If you are getting married in the Peoria area, hire Sara IMMEDIATELY! Our wedding was the most magical, beautiful and stress FREE day of my life. Sara and her staff at So Chic took care of EVERYTHING.

I'm a very indecisive person and I love a lot of different styles. These two qualities do not mesh well when wedding planning. I had all of these ideas and themes in my head and Sara really helped me decided on ONE theme and made sure to keep every within that theme.

My husband and I live in Chicago, but my family is from Peoria. Planning a wedding when you do not live in the same city can at times be difficult. Not with Sara in the picture. This girl has the hook ups! She has a relationship with all of the most fab vendors. From our photographer to the florist our wedding vendors were some of the best I've seen!

My wedding day was the happiest day of my life. I did not have a care in the world because I knew Sara had my back. She took care of everything that day! If there were any hiccups, I didn't have a single clue. She is truly the best and I HIGHLY recommend her for ANY event you have! Shes seriously thebomb.com! :)

All I can say is just do it! Sara and her team will not disappoint! I'm usually the type of person that wants to be involved in every detail, but for our wedding I was so busy with other things that it was nice to give Sara a vision and let her make it happen. I couldn't of been happier with how everything went, how we didn't know about any issues that may have come up (like our florist just quitting 13 days before our wedding) and we really got to focus on spending the time with our friends and family and not stress about the details of getting everything set up and perfect! Sara was very accommodating for meeting times and always there if I had a questions, no matter how silly! I can honestly say our wedding wouldn't have been nearly as amazing had we not hired Sara and her team!

As a mom of the bride, I cannot imagine planning/creating a wedding of our daughter's dreams without a wedding planner. But, not just any planner. Once you meet Sara, you will know what I mean!! She knows her stuff and will point you to so many things that perhaps you would be clueless of like I was. Seriously-absolutely love this lady!!!! She even comes equipped with a fanny-pack on the wedding day!!! Sounds a little weird-right??? It is like Mary Poppins-with the bag that has absolutely everything you need whether you knew it or not!!! Issue with slight alterations at the last moment-no worries-Sara has needle, thread, tape, skill to pull off whatever it is you need. The best part though is in that bag is her own dose of responses at the most needed times! Just a smattering of things i can recall via Sara-" I've got it covered! No worries!! I'm on it! Already done! When and where do you need whatever to appear??? We've got this! No one but you will ever notice! :)" Seriously, Sara made planning the wedding of our daughter an absolute joy and pleasure. We are very grateful for her talents that she chose to share with our family!!!

Sara is excellent in listening to the desires of the couple and then assisting them in evaluating various options and solutions to make their special wedding day complete. She understands the vision of the couple and has great capacity to bring other vendors to the event and then does a great job in coordinating all of the various vendors being used to make the day seamless and ever so enjoyable. Being the dad of the bride, it was so very gratifying to see her enjoy her special day and not get consumed by all of the various aspects of the actually wedding planning/coordination. The activities can easily become a large a distraction, such that the special day of getting married becomes lost. Sara carried all of the 'wedding load' so our daughter was able to enjoy the entire special day in her life as well as her husband. Who wouldn't want that for their daughter and son-in-law...!

Sara is so chic and SO AMAZING! I don't know what we would've done without her. I cannot say enough kind words about Sara. She was essential to our wedding and the main reason everything turned out so perfect and helped everything run so smoothly. Sara was essential to the day-of success of our wedding. She was there to answer every question or need we had. Being the groom I didn't spend much time with her in the planning stage but she definitely helped keep stress levels down throughout. I was very much AGAINST hiring a wedding planner before the wedding as it seemed like a waste of money to me, but now that I've been through it I would HIGHLY suggest hiring a planner to everyone. Sara O'Shea was our wedding coordinator for our beautiful wedding in September 2016, and by coordinator, I actually mean that she was an organized, generous, multi-tasking, dedicated, and thoughtful wedding advisor. My husband and I had started some of the planning, but knew with our busy schedules, combined with our inexperience (and some indecisiveness) we would not be able to keep up with planning the wedding ourselves.
During our very first meeting with Sara, 9 months before our big day, we hadn't even technically hired her or paid her yet and she took the initiative to address some key details we needed accomplished.....SOLD!! In addition to that, during that first meeting, Sara was able to sense our style and suggested a beautiful venue for us to utilize for our reception and my husband and I are so grateful to her for introducing it to us. She made a quick phone call and we were able to see the venue and meet with their representative on that same day!
There is absolutely NO DOUBT that this woman knows the business in and out and accordingly the rest of the business knows her! Almost every vendor we met with already knew of Sara and informed us that she would do a great job.
She and her colleagues at So Chic made all of the final details come to life, including but not limited to our programs, reception signage, decorative items, etc. As for the day of, she transported all the of the important items to and from the reception that you don't want to burden your family members or friends with. We used my parents' champagne flutes and she took care of keeping these important items safe and sound. She truly thinks of everything!
We are so incredibly grateful to have worked with Sara! She has a tough job, but she does it with ease. She made our wedding come together so gracefully so we could just enjoy the ride and for that, we are and will be forever grateful!

My husband and I turned our entire wedding day over to Sara and her team. We wanted to have the least amount of stress leading up to, and on, our wedding day. So, once we picked out all of the big stuff (church, reception venue, cake, food, etc.), we let Sara run with it. With only a theme, wedding colors, and a budget, Sara and her team came up with an absolutely stunning reception that was far beyond my wildest dreams - everything from our flowers, centerpieces, rehearsal dinner decor, and church decor were 100% Sara. She and her team took care of set up and tear down at both the wedding and reception, so all my wedding party had to do was show up, look pretty, and enjoy the day. On top of that, she'll keep you on track and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Sara truly loves what she does and wants each of her couples to have a perfect wedding day.
It was so nice to not have to worry about a thing on my wedding day! Even if you choose to not do the full service package, like we did, Sara has ties with all of the best vendors in the area and her reputation, alone, is worth the price of hiring her.

Working with Sara was a dream! She helped plan our wedding and was there every step of the way. I knew if I had any questions that she was only an email, text, or phone call away. She always responded promptly and gave great recommendations for our other vendors. Our wedding day turned out perfect and I'm positive it was only because Sara helped plan it. Working full time and going to grad school left hardly any time to plan a wedding but Sara stayed on top of everything and it turned out perfect.
We got SO many compliments from everyone regarding Sara. I would recommend Sara to anyone planning any type of party!
She also has the most adorable shop in Morton, IL where you can purchase party supplies, wedding day accessories, and invitations. We got our invitations through her as well and they we spectacular.

Look no further! Sara is a natural organizer - methodical, but with heart! Her value was obvious even at the very first introductory meeting when we were wedding coordinator "shopping" which by the way, was completely unneeded once we met her. Having Sara and all of her vendor connections, allowed the bride and the groom (and their families!) to take part in the fun decisions and express what we envisioned - without responsibility for pulling all the pieces together! Fantastic!

So Chic was absolutely amazing !! I couldn't have had a perfect wedding without Sara and her team. They were always there to help answer any questions and made our day stress free! Booking Sara for Heather and Michael's wedding was the best thing we did! She kept us on task and on track up until the very end. We knew from the moment we met her, we would be completely satisfied with her service, and she did not falter. Having Sara helped us totally enjoy the entire wedding experience. I would advice ANYONE who has a wedding in their near future, to choose a wedding coordinator, and especially Sara and her staff! Outgoing, friendly, organized, knowledgeable, helpful, caring, and I could go on and on. We are going to miss Sara, but hope to keep tabs on her by on Facebook and by visiting her shop So Chic Boutique! Oh my goodness, where do I start??? Sara is AMAZING!!! I wasn't sure how we would get everything done for our daughter's wedding on 9/3/16. I did a search for wedding coordinators and So Chic Events came up at the top. Fifteen minutes into our first meeting I knew Sara was the person for the job! She is top notch at what she does. My daughter already had ideas of what she wanted and Sara took those ideas and ran with them. She saved the day when Seno dropped the ball on our wedding invitations and has great vendors that she works with. The flowers were beautiful and the venue turned out FABULOUS!! She is so meticulous in all the details and there are so many! We had ideas and she would give suggestions on how to save money with those ideas. We had so many things for her to decorate the venue with and she put them all together in an amazing way. She relieved the stress for us on the wedding day, not having to worry about anything, just taking in the joys of the day. You MUST hire So Chic Events for your wedding, her staff is very talented and Sara is THE BEST!!!!!

I didn't think we needed a wedding planner for my only daughter's wedding since I consider the two of us very capable and organized. It was my daughter who suggested we consider hiring one -- she didn't want me stressed the weeks leading up to the wedding. After deciding it wouldn't hurt to explore the idea, I stumbled on WeddingWire and Sara's reviews. They were so positive, I requested a meeting with her. We were impressed with Sara from the get-go and couldn't pass up her "So You" services. She recommended the perfect vendors who brought our daughter's wedding vision to life. Sara is down to earth, listens intently and her input, advice and involvement through all the planning, the rehearsal, wedding and reception was invaluable. I can't imagine having done it all without Sara.....she's the best!

The only regret I have in hiring Sara of So Chic Events is that I didn't do so sooner. She has great ideas, knows the best vendors in the area, and manages the moving parts of so many events with a friendly attitude that makes you feel as though you have been friends for years. It is an impressive, and rare, combination.
We started working with her relatively early in the process, when I realized that I simply could not manage to plan a wedding from another state and stay sane. As soon as I spoke with her I felt at ease. She let us know which vendors to book (and she was right each and every time). She managed a lot of the behind the scenes stuff, and left me in charge of decisions and budget. I felt like I had the creative control necessary for it to feel like 'my wedding' without the stress of managing each and every detail.
I emailed Sara my Pinterest board, pointed out my favorite bouquets, centerpieces, and cakes, and then on my wedding day there they all were. Setup, takedown, timelines, and everything was managed. I got to spend time with my family knowing that if something small went wrong, Sara would handle it and I would probably never even have to know.
My wedding day was flawless, and it was thanks to Sara and So Chic Events.

I loved working with Sara and her team! I set up the coffee visits package with her. I had 3 one hour meetings and 1 complimentary consultation for just $250. She paid for herself right off the bat, as the vendors I worked with knew her and gave me a small discount. She was very easy to reach and helpful to create the vision and wedding that I wanted. I felt that she wanted what was best for me on my day. I did not feel that she wanted me to spend more money in my planning than I was comfortable with. She was able to help me stick to my budget and provide vendors and contacts to fit this budget. Super helpful!

What a magical wedding and reception! Sara made sure the vision my daughter had for her dream wedding was executed to perfection! She always kept us on schedule throughout the entire wedding process. I cannot say enough good about my experience with So-Chic and Sara O'Shea. She was organized, fun, added great ideas, very on top of things, professional, and I couldn't have pulled off my dream wedding without her. I enjoyed our meetings of planning months ahead of time, texts week of to make sure I was good, emails to see what she could help with, attended our rehearsal and made sure everything was ready to go, loved seeing her waiting for us as we arrived to the Church with a smile, she was also waiting for us as we arrived to the reception, and stayed until she knew I was comfortable. I recommend Sara for any event planning, especially a wedding. You will be in great hands and everything will get done to perfection (I tested this with giving her 3 hours to completely turn around a ballroom to get ready for 260 people with lots of details...she succeeded with an hour to spare).

Taylor Morgan at So Chic Events was our day of coordinator and helped make our day absolutely perfect. She was timely with responses and took care of any issues that came up on our day. Taylor was sent to us from heaven!!! She is the PERFECT person to have by your side before, during and after your wedding & reception. Her attention to detail is amazing. There were SO MANY things we had not thought of that she very respectfully suggested to us. We had so many compliments at our reception on how busy and professional Taylor was. After interviewing several planners, I chose so chic because of their location, services provided, pricing flexibility (depending on services), and their professionalism. We had a guest list of 500 people and Sara O'Shea took on our event with enthusiasm. She was very inquisitive as to what we found important to ensure our wedding day was everything we dreamed of. We were able to communicate with Sara as often as needed through email, phone, and face to face meetings as often as we needed. She is professional, candid, heartfelt, understanding, and patient which was an absolute blessing. I highly recommend using So Chic for any event as they are thorough and detail oriented but still maintain a personal relationship with their clients. I am so delighted we chose So Chic to handle our special day and would refer them to anyone.

There are not enough categories to vote 5 stars on for Sara O'Shea of So Chic Events. She exceeded all expectations/hopes/wishes for the perfect wedding planner. Extremely organized and involved. Supremely polite and decisive. She has history with vendors. She has the communicative capacity to get things done right, at the right cost, and at the right time. From the very first meeting, she made us feel very comfortable, that our wedding was in the right hands, without even having to say those words. And we can be very skeptical people when it comes to hiring services. We had a large wedding (300 people) with no shortage of small and large tasks being thrown at her from several different family members. She met/solved them all and more. She also runs a great shop in Morton; we were impressed with the quality selection of wedding accessories. We purchased our invitations, reception info cards, table place cards, and seating boards through her. Pricing was very comparable to the same value of stationary from online sources. If I had the means to advertise her services to everyone in the central Illinois area, I would do it without question. I think we found her from searching online, we had no specific reference to her.....and not only do we feel like we hit the jackpot before the wedding even happened, but we genuinely feel like she is a friend now. There is no doubt in my mind that Sara O'Shea is the best person in her field in central Illinois (at least), I hope you are lucky enough to have her plan the very best wedding for you too.

If it was possible, I would put 1,000 stars for value on this scale. I can't imagine having our wedding without Sara and So-Chic. We were budget conscious and had some venues pre-picked before beginning to get down to work. She made everyone so comfortable. With all the little things that come up the week before a big event, it was so calming to be able to still be heavily involved in my idea of fun (e.g. making table numbers) and know that everything would be delivered on time and beautifully ready.

Oh my goodness! More than a month after our wedding and people are still asking, "so how was your big day?" My response is always a little timid because I don't want to come off as proud, but the truth is that our wedding day was flawless! Taylor of So Chic Events worked with me leading up to the wedding to make sure everything was in order as much as it could be which really made the day flow smoothly. If anything did go wrong, she fixed it and I never knew. So Chic Events provided a level of service that was unexpected and consistently above the assumed level of quality that we assumed according to the cost for those services. This was evident in the preparatory planning meetings with written itineraries to value our time in those meetings, especially in the "day-of" preparation for a wedding at our private residence, certainly in the details of the ceremony and reception, and even extending to the vendor network and reputation So Chic has with those vendors. We were grateful that we were able to share our day and event with the So Chic team.

Prior to meeting for the first time, I suggested to the bride, to take some of the stress of the day off her, and because I didn't want to set up all those chairs, that we meet with So Chic to see what they could provide for us. As we lived in the week up to the wedding, many many times the bride said how thankful she was that we chose So Chic to coordinate our day and details. It went so smoothly, despite an outdoor ceremony and open sided tented reception, having rain on it all up to 1/2 hour before the evening ceremony. Due to the rain, the temperature dropped into the 40's on the end of May, and So Chic was so attune to the service quality of the outdoor reception that they had their vendor bring in portable tower heaters. The party never skipped a beat, and actually made for some amazing photos!

While I don't wish for another wedding, I can't wait for another event to work with So Chic and their team again. The best feedback/comment I can give, is that as we were leaving the states for our honeymoon the next day, the bride said, "I can't think of one complaint. It was a perfect wedding." We both know that only happened due to the So Chic Events group.

Sara was our day of coordinator and she was such a huge help on our wedding day and the months leading up to it. During our meetings, Sara answered endless questions, provided suggestions and constantly asked us any ways she could offer assistance. On the day of, she set up and tore down all our decorations, helped coordinate everything, kept in contact with our vendors and solved any last minute issues that came up. My husband and I were able to enjoy the day as the Bride and Groom and not have to worry about a thing. We can't thank her enough for all she did!

Sara and So Chi executed my wedding perfectly! Sara is m ore then a wedding planner, she will become your friend and basically takes calls 24-7 (even when we call on a holiday like Fathers day!) She is on the ball and super organized. These qualities are probably found in all wedding planners, but Sara like I said, takes it to the next level and personally cares about your special day. Her text was the first one I woke up to on my wedding day, which was early! She doesn't just want the decor to be perfect or the food to turn out right, she wants you to make sure you are healthy and happy and have the best day of your life! Most people couldn't handle that pressure, but Sara thrives on it! She also had another wedding booked on my same day, but that didn't keep her from surprising me at my wedding, super pregnant and not feeling well, I may add! If anyone is teetering on whether to get a wedding planner, just hire Sara because she will become much more then just your planner. Hey, this isn't just me saying this either- I never hear anything other then rave remarks on So Chi. Also, I want to add that Keri, who was our day of coordinator, did a fantastic job as well! We just loved her spunky personality and the way she was able to get everyone together for the ceremony and into the reception. Love these girls and I miss taking with them on a daily basis!

SoChic was the best choice I made for my wedding! They will guide you to high quality vendors in their network, keep you on track with budget and timeline, and go after your own vision without adding their own preferences/style to the mix. My planner was basically my best friend all the way from The Ring to I Do, and especially in those hectic few weeks leading up to the wedding!

I did very little and let Sara completely takeover every single detail!

The wedding itself was flawless!
Sara kept well organized notes on all of the details! She well understood everything we wanted and executed all of the details beautifully, again without us knowing any details (we wanted to be surprised). Her organizational ability and exceptional attention to detail were beyond compare, but her almost uncanny interpersonal skills make her truly a prize to behold and an irreplaceable friend!

Sara truly made our wedding absolutely perfect!
