Working with Amber was amazing. She was extremely responsive and helped organize an efficient timeline for the day of. Her team also included a hair stylist and they were both so great to work with. Amber and Kristy did an amazing job with hair and makeup for my May 2025 wedding in Mystic. I also had hair/makeup done for my rehearsal dinner with them, which I would highly recommend to fully relax and enjoy the night before. Amber and Kristy arrived to our home on time the morning of the wedding and were finished with plenty of time before the official festivities began. I'm so happy that I went with Smudge for hair and makeup and I couldn't recommend them enough! -

Amazing work by amazing women
I hired Amber and her team for hair and makeup for 9 women including myself. They went above and beyond with their attention to detail and professionalism. Not only did they arrive early, but they kept to their schedule to a tee. We ended up finishing everyone’s hair and makeup with plenty of time for touch ups. Smudge was a dream to work with throughout the whole process. From initial inquiry, through the trial, and to the day-of, they were professional, attentive, and reliable. When we had some extra people wanting services, Amber was so helpful and responsive with updating the contract. Everyone in my party was thrilled with their hair and makeup and it lasted perfectly all day - through humidity, rain, and a LOT of dancing. They kept us on schedule and were able to work with everyone's inspiration - whether it was a bolder look or something more natural. Amber and Sarah were amazing to work with! I did a trial and then they came to Newport for the wedding day! I decided kinda late to do a trial and I was so glad I did as it quieted any fears I had! I felt the most beautiful I ever have in my life and my hair and makeup still looked amazing after a whole day of photos and then hours of dancing. We actually ended up ahead of schedule with hair and makeup which helped us get some extra time for photos! I would highly recommend Smudge for any hair/makeup needs! -

Amber was the best! I had a very small wedding and had a hard time finding someone to do just one person’s makeup and travel day of. Amber had no hesitations and assured me she was available! Fast forward to a week before my wedding. My hair dresser decided she wasn’t traveling for my wedding. I discussed with Amber and she found me someone from her team a week before to do my hair! Amber was responsive and listened to my requests. The day of my wedding, I felt like the most beautiful bride. I can’t thank you enough for your help when I was feeling stressed but also for helping make my day so perfect! You won’t be disappointed working with Smudge! -

Amber and Sarah were a joy to work with, from my first interaction with Amber, to the trial run, and then on my wedding day it was a joy to work with them. The day of my wedding in June 2023 they arrived on schedule with their chairs and tools.
They were accommodating and flexible when my mother-in-law wanted her hair done last minute. They were attentive to my party of 8 ladies and were able to get everyone’s hair and makeup done in a timely manner while listening to their wants and needs.
Everyone in my party loved working with them and loved how our hair and makeup turned out. They made me feel beautiful and that’s all I could ask for on my wedding day. They provided good company and were professionals throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Smudge Makeup to anyone who is looking because overall I had an amazing experience. -

Amber and Sarah from Smudge did a great job!! From the first phone call to the day off, very professional, and helpful! I had a little extra of a hoop to jump through when planning my wedding as we had moved out of state about a year or so before the big day. Coordinating everything was not easy with that being the case and Amber was willing to call me and answer any and all questions from the start as well as adjust and work around when I would be back in town for the trial and other wedding things prior to the wedding. From the trial to day of I had decided to change a few things to the look and they both did an awesome job with adapting to the new aspects of what I had wanted!! I know the process wasn’t an easy one for being out of state and having only so much time to work with being available and they did awesome with accommodating everything they could to help me out! My girls and I felt beautiful on the big day thanks to them!! -

Amazing Bridal Experience!
Lidia from Smudge did an absolutely amazing job on my bridal hair and makeup! She worked with me to produce a look that was based off of pinterest photos I liked while also tailoring it to my own complexion, hair color and length, and aspects that would best highlight my features. She made everything look natural yet so put-together and polished and I absolutely LOVE the way the look turned out in photos. Amber and Lidia were also so helpful in adding on last-minute makeup for my mom and bridesmaids when I asked (only a week before the big day!). Lidia even helped out one of my bridesmaids with her hair when her updo was falling out. She did a trial run with me several months before to make sure I liked everything, and came to the Airbnb that I was renting with my bridesmaids to do everything there the morning of. I am so impressed with Smudge's professionalism and quality of work (thank you Lidia and Amber!). I highly recommend them for your bridal look! -

Would 100% recommend
I got married on 9/17/2023 and got to work with Kristy and Stephanie. These two woman were amazing! I did a bridal trial and immediately felt comfortable with both ladies. Last minute I decided to switch up my hair and emailed Kristy to let her know. She was so sweet and kind and I was in love with my look! With Kristy's hair and Stephanie's bridal makeup, I truly felt like a princess! I had a large bridal party, 9 bridesmaids as well as two additional mothers to get ready. Amber's team crushed it! Not only did my bridal party love their hair and makeup but Amber's team was very organized and efficient! I would highly recommend Smudge Makeup for your special day! -

I had difficulty finding a makeup and hair artist due to my thick curly hair and desire to go with a more natural look. Smudge makeup really went above and beyond to give me two hair trials and we're really flexible with appointments. On the day of my wedding I felt horrible bloated and just all around disgusted with my parents but these two stayed late just to make sure I was happy with how I looked. Such amazing girls and I'm truly grateful. -

I had Adrienne and Megan do make up and hair, respectively. They were amazing! I can’t say enough nice things about them. They were not only phenomenal with hair and make up but they were personable. All my bridesmaids loved them! It felt like we were all just good friends doing each others hair and make up. They gave everyone exactly what they asked for and they were kind, quick and CLEAN! When I asked for changes after my trial they asked for photos and asked clarifying questions to make sure it was perfect. They were the perfect choice for my special day! -

We had an amazing experience with Smudge Makeup. Amber was extremely knowledgeable and responsive to emails/questions. We had 10 girls to get ready and her and Sarah absolutely crushed it. Every girl AND mom were beyond pleased with their hair and makeup and the whole morning went really smoothly. We got ready in their new studio which was designed and styled to the T, with everything you could possibly need from a comfy adorable couch for pictures, champagne glasses, record/bluetooth player for music, and any emergency things we may have forgotten (Hollywood tape, tick tacks, stain removers, you name it!) We felt pampered and truly cared for during our experience with Smudge. The Smudge team is kind, professional, and fun to work with. I would definitely recommend and use them again for future events. -

Absolutely the BEST!
Amber and Megan were the absolute best to work with. It started with the initial contact via email and Amber was super responsive and got a quote back to me very quickly. I continue to email Amber throughout to add people to my bridal party and each time she was super flexible and understanding. During my hair and make up trial they both were so full of questions and made sure everything was done the way I wanted it to be. I was a bit hesitant with my make up because I usually don’t wear any but it definitely grew on me! The day of the wedding, Amber and Meagan were super prompt and really took their time to understand what everyone in the party wanted, they asked tons of questions, and despite my photographer, giving them a tough time about the timeline, they both remained professional and made sure we all looked perfect. Would not have wanted to work with anyone else. -

I recently got married on 10/14/2022 and loved every second of makeup with Amber and hair with Sarah! They both were amazing and did everything we asked! There were 9 of us and timing was perfect! I had a wonderful experience with SMUDGE!
I we not for a pre trial bridal makeup and hair session which was great to get to know the stylist before doing my hair & makeup for the wedding. Grace did a fabulous job. She was very professional, gave nice suggestions, styled my hair just the way I wanted it and my makeup session was just as good. The day of the wedding she came to the hotel where my matron of honor was staying and finished us both up in time for the wedding. It was almost therapeutic to get your hair and makeup done right before the wedding and calmed my nerves. Everything turned out perfect and my wedding was just as perfect. June 11 Wedding - A very, very happy bride
Booking was easy. On a day like this, you can't afford to have vendors mess up. Smudge Makeup (Amber) were on point with the booking and assisting with scheduling my makeup as well as my bridesmaids'. Best part was that they came out to where we were staying at. Stephanie did an awesome job on all of us and gave me what I wanted on my day. Something natural and not caked on. It lasted the whole day. The team was also very responsive via e-mail. Best experience
They were professional, on time (even when the road was unexpectedly closed) and great at what they do! Loved my hair and make-up and so did everyone else who had theirs done as well. During the trial, my hair looked great but just wasn’t my style and adjustments were easily made for day of successfully. Would 100% use smudge again. I like my makeup to look very clean and natural, but I of course wanted to be able to look like the best version of myself on my wedding day. I was finding a lot of makeup vendors were charging such high fees and I knew I wasn't going to ask for enough makeup to feel good about the cost. Amber delivered on both value and quality. She even ordered a special lip color for me after we had to do a lot of mixing to get the lipcolor I wanted during the trial. I wanted a fresh, bright/rosy vibe and I didn't want my lip color to look "muted" but I wanted it to look natural. She nailed it. My eyes look the biggest they have ever looked without feeling like I wanted to rip off my lashes or makeup. Amber did almost all of bridesmaids (I had 7) and I was very happy with what she did. They all looked beautiful and I wanted them to feel nice too, but nobody looked too "extra." I had my own hairstylist do my hair, but Amber also brought someone to do hair for the bridesmaids and they all seemed pleased. Everyone looked beautiful and classy. Smudge's pricing was also very reasonable in comparison to the other vendors I researched. I was just thrilled all around. -

Amber's team was so awesome to work with start to finish. I'd already booked a makeup service but her hair stylists were booked. She recommended Smudge for hair styling and I am so glad she did!! Sarah was so accommodating for my trial. I wanted a couple tweaks post trial before day of and on the day I couldn't have been happier with my style! I could tell she really took my comments to heart. I didn't want any whispys, everything off my neck. Each girl wanted something slightly different, but everyone looked beautiful!
The moms are not typical girly girls so I wanted them to feel beautiful but most importantly themselves. Amber's team was just so kind and considerate of the individual style of everyone, moms included!
Our day of coordinator turned out to be a bit of a struggle to work with, not communicating the correct start times day of. Smudge ended up being an hour early (I felt SO bad), but they were so kind and understanding. I told them to grab coffee and breakfast at the island bakery. They couldn't have been sweeter!
Can't say enough about their professionalism professionalism skills! Definitely consider using Amber's team for your Big Day!! -

There are so many reasons that Smudge was the perfect hair and makeup team for my wedding day. They brought four artists, two hair and two makeup, so that my 8 bridesmaids and I didn't have to start getting ready at the crack of dawn, which was really important to me. They were flexible about the timing of my trial, and flexible and supportive when I changed my mind about parts of my hair and makeup after the trial. All four artists were right on time, super efficient, really friendly and professional, and did an incredible job on all of us! We all felt beautiful the whole day. Amber was kind enough to fit me in her schedule when I decided to get professional hair and make up at the last minute (my sister was originally going to do it!). Since I left it so late, we didn't have time for an in-person test run, but Amber and her team made sure to fit in a Zoom call to understand my vision for my wedding day. On the day, they arrived half an hour earlier than I requested which was awesome because it gave more time for me and my groom to do first look pictures. I really appreciated their punctuality, as well as their attention to detail fulfilling the look I wanted. It was exactly what I envisioned, and I was also so impressed with Mary's (the hairstylist) improvisation around a hair piece I had purchased. Great teamwork! -

Amazing Sister-Owned Company!
I recently had the pleasure of getting to work with Amber and Sarah on my wedding day. We got married on New Years Eve and they came to our venue to do my hair and make up, as well as all of my bridesmaids and my mom. From start to finish, including the trial and the day of, they were fantastic. Incredibly professional women who are good at what they do and more importantly, love what they do. They blended right into the wedding party during the wedding and I am so excited that one of my bridesmaids loved them enough to book them for her own wedding later this year! Amber & her team were absolutely AMAZING. I was a covid bride and had to change my wedding and she had no hesitation in helping me reschedule my date. From the start to the finish, Amber's team was so great to work with. I had reached out and researched many teams to accommodate my large bridal party, and we are so happy we went with them. I had a trial with Amber and Sarah and told them exactly what I was looking for, and was so pleased with the end result. They took into consideration exactly what I wanted (glam but still myself and curls that would last all day and night) and they delivered! On the day of, her team executed beautifully! I had a large bridal party, there was 12 of us who required services day of. Everyone was absolutely shocked when I told them they only had to be there at 9AM the day of for a 1:30PM ceremony. Amber had a great team to get each girl ready (and looking beautiful) without having them have to get ready at a crazy start time. Everyone was so pleased with how they looked and their hair and make up stayed in tact from 9AM to 12AM!
I've never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day, and it's all thanks to Amber and her team! I highly recommend using Smudge :) -

Beautiful work!
Amber, Sarah, and the Smudge team were the best glam squad for me, my bridesmaids, and the moms! We met them at our venue’s vendor expo, and knew right away from talking to them that they’d be a good fit! Amber was quick to respond to all of my questions. She and Sarah (hair) even traveled to my apartment for my hair and makeup trial. I didn’t have the best idea about what I wanted in terms of makeup, but Amber took all of my concerns into consideration and made me look and feel beautiful on my wedding day. Sarah was able to also make the changes I wanted from my trial. I had been super nervous that my hair wouldn’t stay curled for my wedding day, so she came earlier to set my hair and it stayed perfectly.
Before the wedding day, Amber sent over a detailed schedule with times for each of the bridesmaids. On wedding day, we had an extra hair stylist (Mary) and makeup artist (blanking on her name). Shoutout to Mary, who helped out my mom when she didn’t like her hair. She had styled it on her own, and Mary offered her the blow dryer and products to touch it up, and actually ended up working on it personally which my mom loved. We had 10 who needed makeup, and 8 who needed hair, plus me as the bride, and it took a little more than 3 hours total to get everyone done!
The girls looked gorgeous and the Smudge Team was a pleasure to work with! Great girls with great talents that are able to make changes when needed. Highly recommend! -

We used Smudge for our hair and makeup. From the start Amber was very communicative about what she needed from me. We added makeup on for everyone at a later time which she was super helpful about! We had Mary and Marisa who were fantastic! Amber gave me a schedule of the events. I did tweak it a little bit but she was so welcoming to the change!
One of my favorite things was I had my trial the day of our engagement shoot. Mary and Marisa came to me, beautified me, and adjusted the changes I asked for. I loved it even more the day of my wedding!
If I was to have another wedding or event I would absolutely go through Smudge again! -

Wedding and boudior session
I have had amber do my makeup for my wedding which was amazing!! She listened very well on how I wanted my overall look to be which was very modest and simple. Amber also referred me to a photographer for a boudior shoot which she did my makeup more than at my wedding and I loved it so much!! She gave me tips on how to do my own makeup, as well as being extremely professional and making the sessions fun! Since I have seen both modest and a little crazier makeup in my eyes, she does amazing work and I would highly recommend her for any of your makeup needs!!! -

Happy Bride !
Amber was AMAZING! She was very quick to respond to any and all of my questions. She came to my house with her entire set up for a trial run where we were able to
Test and change up some things. After signing my contract with her she sent me this adorable wedding day gift box filled with goodies for the day. On the day of the wedding she was right on time and wonderful with my wedding party of 6 women and 3 little ladies that she made feel very special without giving mom a heart attack! I would recommend her to anyone!! -

Amber and Sarah were fantastic. I had a vision of how I wanted my makeup and hair and they delivered and then some. I first had my trial done at their cute studio and had a few weeks to talk with Amber about what I would like to tweak a little on my makeup. When I decided to go for a bold red lip- she complemented it with more natural tones which I didn’t even think I needed but definitely wanted. Sarah did a great job on my hair as well- she gave me the exact amount of volume I was looking for and my hair stayed in the whole night! I’ve recommended this duo to my friends who are getting married next year, and anyone who sees my photos, tell me how great my makeup and hair looked. They were super flexible with my bridesmaids who didn’t know exactly what they wanted the day of, but matched some of my hues to theirs. They were also so fast that we were done before we thought. 12/10 for these ladies! -

Smudge Makeup is an excellent choice for your hair and makeup needs! I was lucky enough to work with Amber and Sarah and they are a true dream team. For my wedding in October, Amber did my make-up (plus my bridal party and Mom!) and it was beautiful and special, but also natural and didn’t make me feel like I didn’t look like myself. Sarah was able to transform our hair into beautiful curls and updos, and she made it look easy! We were so happy about our makeup and hair the day of and it looks great in the pictures as well! Aside from Amber and Sarah’s talent, they were also fun, kind, flexible, and easy to work with!! Mother of the Bride
My daughter got married in Sept in Rangeley, Maine. She and I drove to Mystic prior to to have a dry run. I was especially nervous as I wear very little makeup but wanted a natural look for wedding day. The girls were super helpful, down to earth and professional. Put me at ease. On the day of the wedding they travelled all the way to Maine and did a beautiful job on all the bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom and, most importantly, the bride. They fit right in with all the chatting and joking around all while creating beautiful makeup and hair for 7 women. Can’t say enough! -

Amazing & Fun
I hired Smudge to do hair and make up for myself (the bride) and my bridesmaids! We all had a great experience and loved our looks. Amber was amazing and helped tailor everyone’s make up to their personal taste. Sarah was just as amazing with our hair. Everyone looked so beautiful. They both were fun to talk to, flexible with some last minute changes, and just overall a great team!

Annie from Smudge was able to do the bride and 5 others on her own and did a fabulous job! She had all of us check several times to decide if we wanted her to add or change anything. This made me feel comfortable asking for more sparkle, or a darker shade to get exactly what I wanted! -
