Candace was hands-down the best decision I made for my wedding, other than my husband :) I spent 10 months meticulously planning every detail and I handed everything over to her the week before and she absolutely crushed it. She took care of my family and my husband’s family. She was the glue for all the behind-the-scenes. I couldn’t recommend her more, she will be the best decision you ever make!! -

Brandy from Smooth as Butter Weddings was our day of coordinator and she was truly the MVP of our wedding day. Starting weeks out from our wedding, she was organized, down-to-earth, and so easy to work with. Our wedding day had a number of moving parts with a first look, ceremony, and reception happening in three different locations and Brandy handled it all with ease - coordinating a perfect first look, setting things up at our church for our ceremony, and then setting up our reception space PERFECTLY. Of note, on our wedding day Brandy was actually rear-ended driving from the first look location to our church and yet she arrived at the church early, made sure everything ran smoothly, and put us and our bridal party at ease. Rest assured that if Brandy is on your wedding day team she will be able to handle any hiccups thrown your way! -

We cannot recommend Candace and her team highly enough! From our first conversation, Candace dramatically lowered our stress about planning our wedding. She frequently checked in, and made sure our vision for the wedding was being fulfilled. Whenever we were discussing hiring or renting something, she provided sound council. Every decision was made with great respect and care for our budget and we never felt pressured to spend more than our budget would allow. Her guidance was greatly appreciated.
One specific example of why Candace and her team are the best happened on the day before our wedding. The forecast had suddenly changed, and major rain was now scheduled for our completely outdoor celebration. We had been nervously watching the weather all week, but we felt reassured that we were in good hands with Candace which allowed us to enjoy quality time with our family and friends. On Friday morning at 7am, we texted the team that we decided we wanted a tent, and within 2 hours Candace replied with a contract for a tent that was affordable, beautiful, and the perfect size for our guest count. We were blown away! As evidence of her incredible attention to detail, she knew that our venue allowed us to stake the tent instead of using weights, saving us a few hundred dollars. That’s just one example of the level of detail and perfection you can expect from Candace and her team. We cannot stress enough how much knowing we had Candace handling everything made all the difference.
When it did rain in the evening, Candace’s team onsite, Hayden and Macey started to dance in the rain outside of the tent, providing such an incredible and carefree energy that others joined them. Soon enough, we were all dancing in the rain. Frankly, after that experience, we were glad that it rained! It added such a joy to our wedding, and we think her team deserve credit for making that happen. Even when it was pouring rain, they elevated our event and helped make it better than we could have hoped.
The week leading up to the wedding, Candace and her team coordinated with all vendors and checked in with us frequently to make sure our vision was being executed. When we shared that we were using all compostable dishes, she made sure that our caterers disposed of everything properly without us even asking. Her team led the ceremony rehearsals, and setup all decorations exactly as we had envisioned. Some adjustments had to be made during the wedding day, and Hayden ensured we were informed and made great calls every time to ensure we were having the best experience possible.
The best way we can summarize our experience working with Smooth as Butter is that your only regret with hiring Candace and her team will be if you try to book them and it turns out they are unavailable. -

Could not reccomend Candace and her team enough. She helped us plan every step of the way, even a few out of the box things like throwing an entire welcome party at our home for 100+ people and how to bring in a chef, bartender, rental furniture, decor etc to make our vision come to life.
She has a great team of vendors for reccomendations, understood our vibe to translate into logistics and design choices, helped us source so many things, made the day of run seamlessley and truly brought the magic to life. Very well run with great energy every step of the way! -

We couldn’t be happier about our decision to hire Candace with Smooth as Butter for our wedding on 2/22/25 at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta. Thanks to Candace and her team, our day went perfectly! The timeline she created was super detailed and helpful. She did a good job helping us stick to it! Our guests had a great experience. It was incredibly helpful to have someone who knows our venue so well. Candace’s experience really showed.
Candace is not only incredibly sweet, but she’s also a total pro at what she does. Her team was responsive to emails, and I felt confident and supported throughout the whole process. She offered great suggestions but never pushed us to do anything a certain way.
We collaborated with her and our talented florist, Caroline Worth, to help us choose some of the design from colors to linens to vases, and the end result was absolutely stunning. They set everything up beautifully on the day of the wedding. We were truly blown away!
Everyone we talked to had nothing but amazing things to say about Candace, and we were so happy with all of the vendors she recommended. Our wedding would not have been the same without Smooth as Butter, and we can’t recommend them enough! -

Candace and Brandy were fantastic in the month leading up to our wedding, as well as on the big day itself. The SABW team was responsive and attentive to details, often one step ahead of us as we emailed about questions or concerns in the final month. The morning of the wedding, SABW was on-site coordinating vendors and rolling up their sleeves to get everything in order far ahead of "go time." Candace even helped load very heavy boxes of alcohol from our car to the venue's kitchen. Beyond all of the prep, the actual wedding offered quite the curve ball: shortly after our ceremony, a flash summer storm resulted in the entire venue (a 1920s Tudor style mansion) losing power entirely. SABW assured guests the power would get back on, ensured the agenda continued, and worked closely with other vendors (e.g., catering) to keep the show on the road. They also contacted a generator company to provide backup power should the full block not resume during our reception. Finally, when alcohol was running low, Candace made a personal run to the liquor store to grab what we needed and replenish. To have a power outage during your wedding not really throw anything off track is proof of a fantastic coordinating team. We are very thankful! -

My husband and I had a courthouse elopement and once we came clean to friends and family decided we wanted to do something small and casual (and inexpensive!).
As this was my second marriage I knew how quickly expenses can get out of hand but I was candid about my budget and never felt pressure to go above it. Candance kept my needs in mind and managed to plan the most magical day. We picked a venue at Oakland Cemetery and a few weeks before the wedding she noticed that bell tower has not been rented out for the day of our wedding and convinced them to throw in the extra space for no extra charge.
I wanted the wedding to feel easy and casual and she delivered while still making it look anything but. Everything was so beautiful.
Her husband was our videographer and while I didn’t know if I wanted a video- I’m SO glad we have one. It’s so special and helps me remember all the little details I forgot in the busy bliss.
I cannot recommend these two enough. -

On our initial call, I told Candace about the vibe I wanted & she immediately knew of a venue (that I didn't) that was absolutely perfect, and I knew it was the right choice to hire her! The Absolute Best
My wife and I hired Candace Pre-COVID for our originally planned big NYE wedding. We ended up cancelling and rescheduling to a down-sized event at a venue that had never hosted a real wedding before.
Not only did Candace work with us through our crazy rescheduling, but she was with us every step of the way to make our new vision work -- she asked the questions that we didn't think of, worked with all of vendors in a professional and responsive manner and helped calm my wife through the process and overall just knocked it out of the park leading up to the day.
The day of the wedding she went above and beyond, I can't even explain how much better and relaxed our day went with having her there. She put in place all of the requests my wife had, managed all the vendors effortlessly, and worked through all the small hiccups that were to be expected (and some unexpected).
To put it concisely, she was the best decision we made for a vendor. Outside of being professional and excellent at what she does, Candace is just a kind and pleasant person to be around with and work with. She is worth every penny, and for anyone looking at this review -- book her now! -

I was recommended to Candace by my photographer, Authentic Collective. Candace truly made our day go so smoothly!
Candace managed all the details - from putting together a timeline and floor plans to ordering last minute high-chairs and executing our rain plan (which turned out better than I could have imagined)! She worked with all the vendors to make sure everyone knew when and where they needed to be so things were executed smoothly.
We even had one of those last minute problems you only see in the movies - we forgot our rings at the hotel!! ( This not due to her lack of reminding us, we were just distracted by a few too many celebratory drinks while getting ready.) Candace quickly and efficiently organized a plan to retrieve the rings all doing so without me even noticing or having a chance to worry about it! It was...smooth as butter.
I am so thankful to have Candace and the Smooth As Butter team support us on our special day. She's fun, thoughtful, dedicated and reliable. You can't go wrong with picking her to organize your wedding day. -

Absolutely fabulous
Candace IS amazing. Our wedding was absolutely spectacular and beautiful beyond our wildest dreams. My daughter, the bride, said it was the absolute BEST day of her life, and that was because Candace made her vision reality. Every detail was amazing, and Candace's creativity is off the charts. She took everything Emily said about what she wanted and brought it to life. She was always accessible, and made our day run like clockwork. Most importantly for me, as the MOB, she was CALM and ZEN and always cheerful and kind. She managed my stress gently and made the day effortless. I cannot recommend her enough. She is a delight and could charge 3 times as much as she does. We interviewed several other "big name" planners and are so very glad we chose Candace (which we did because we just meshed with her from the first second we met) because she gave us her EVERYTHING. We hired Candace in 2019 for Month of Coordination for what would've been our June 2020 wedding. While it got moved back twice due to covid, Candace was there all along the way. She went above and beyond in helping us navigate rescheduling the wedding two times, which was really not her problem at all since we hadn't hired her for full planning. We had a very unusual vision for our wedding, and she was always super enthusiastic about it and never once scoffed at our crazy ideas or requests. She is extremely responsive and organized, and somehow manages to remember every single detail you tell her, whether it was through email or off the cuff in person.
When we finally got married this March, it was everything we had been waiting for. We ended up hiring her to officiate as well, and she did a great job capturing our vibe as a couple. Her assistant on the wedding day was fabulous as well. I anticipated being very stressed and overwhelmed as this is how I usually am on important events, but this was the first time where I felt like I didn't need to worry and could just relax and enjoy the experience. Guests commented that it was the most relaxed, calm, smoothly run wedding they'd attended. Highly recommend Smooth As Butter to anyone planning their wedding. Even if you only hire her for partial planning, it's worth EVERY penny for the peace of mind. -

Candace and her team were the best planning team we could ask for! We signed up for partial planning because we had some vendors already in place. For the vendors we didn't have, Candace recommended amazing ones! She handled everything from top to bottom, including the little details like day-of lunches that we would've likely forgotten. We had our wedding during COVID, and she also adjusted flawlessly to our constantly changing plans. She was an absolute joy throughout the process. The Michael Jordan of Wedding Planning. Candace is a wonderful, kind, energetic person who created the most magical experience for my wife and I. Our Indian wedding was zero stress and had all the garlic naan. We were supposed to have a violinist play but they cancelled at the last minute with COVID but Candace sorted everything out and hired the most bad a** saxophone player in Atlanta. Where do I even begin??
Candace @ Smooth as Butter Weddings made our elopement the most magical day one could have hoped for. We gave her a ridiculously short timeline of 3 weeks to plan a pandemic - friendly backyard elopement for 10 guests and the result was absolutely perfect.
Prior to the event:
Smooth as Butter thought of everything for us. And I mean EVERYTHING. All we had to do was give them a few directions on how we envisioned our day to go and let their creativity run free! A couple of planning sessions ironed out the details and we had nothing to worry about.
Candace and her team came to our backyard to set up the event. The process was clean, fast, well planned and professional. Nothing was forgotten or half done.
During the event:
Event flow: Candace ensured our event cadence was seamless. Her subtle guidance helped our guests flow through the day without hesitation! All guests - from our loudest party animal friend to my quiet, serene parents - felt welcome and comfortable to enjoy the moment at their own pace. Isn't that what every couple expects from their wedding? It wouldn't have happened without Smooth as Butter.
Photo & Video: Smooth as Butter's video and photography peeps did an incredible job! We're still waiting on the final products and WE CAN'T WAIT. It was the perfect balance of getting enough pictures and still enjoying every moment of the event with our guests - once again, exactly what we asked for! Did I mention they brought a Polaroid and snapped the best candids with it?
Officiating: From a simple questionnaire we answered a week before our elopement, Candace crafted a lighthearted and beautiful speech to officiate our union. She observed the traditions we wanted to incorporate and brought so much of our personality to this beautiful moment. There wasn't a set of dry eyes among us.
Post event:
The following day, the Smooth as Butter crew came over to disassemble our setup and once again, they were as efficient as can be. Together we found new homes to almost all of our flower arrangements and leftover beverages.
TL;DR: If you believe in hiring talented people to bring you the best custom experiences, full of charm and personality, Smooth as Butter is for you. -

Candace and Courtney absolutely blew it out of the water! My first piece of advice for any bride getting married would be to get a wedding planner - even if it's a day of or month of planner. The second piece of advice I would give would be to choose Smooth As Butter Weddings as the wedding planner. They were amazing. Candance is so invested in making every dream you have for your wedding day come true. She is flexible, communicative, and above all esle, kind and compassionate. I felt so comfortable working with her and any anxieties or fears I had for my wedding were instantly put at ease after my initial meeting with Candace. My now husband (who is pretty independent and likes to do things himself) even commetned on how thankful he was to haver her there to help guide us through the wedding planning process. And did I mention how fun they are? Candace and Courtney were a total blast and constantly kept the mood of the day light and postiive. We got married right before shelter-in place laws went into effect because of the coronavirus and Candace (without me even needing to ask) talked to the vendors seperately to confirm their particpation and worked with the caterer to change the dinner buffet to a chef's line so that people would not feel uncomfortable touching plates and utensils. I could tell my guests felt taken care of and that meant the world to me. I can truly say my wedding was everything I hoped and dreamt it would be and I know for a fact I couldn't have pulled it off without Candace. -

Candace nailed it!
Candace & Amy were an incredible help to me throughout the process leading up to my wedding day. I never felt any shred of anxiety or doubt after a meeting with Candace, she was brilliant in suggesting solutions to any worries I had or alternatives to things I did not like (and also may have had to mediate certain things the groom and I didn't agree on!). When it came to the last few weeks before the wedding, I truly felt confident that I could just hand everything over to Candace and she had it COVERED- which she truly did!!. She was very professional, well organized, and exceeded my expectations. On our wedding day we had some unexpected weather that she handled with such ease that I actually was completely unaware of just how bad the storm was until I saw some videos of it afterward! I love this team, and can't recommend them highly enough. -

Candace is the wedding fairy godmother, nuptial queen, queen of beautiful celebrations. I was a bride with very specific tastes, a reasonable budget and a tendency to be indecisive. Add the facts that our venue was a completely raw space and I was planning from a thousand miles away, and you know the magic that Candace can work. Candace was so patient with my long emails and was able to interpret the exact vibe that I was going for. Candace was so helpful as a guide and sounding board before the wedding, but she was truly the engine behind our wedding on the day of. Our wedding venue was leaking and flooding on the night before our wedding, and Candace was soooo calm, cool and collected. On a day that could have been incredibly stressful, Candace was a source of peace and I am so happy that she and her team were part of our day! -

Hiring Candace was the single-best decision we made in our wedding planning process. We had the privilege of having Candace as both our month-of coordinator, as well as our officiant. Candace wrote the most perfect ceremony script that truly encapsulated us as a couple. I can't even begin to count the number of compliments we received on our ceremony from our guests. Not only that, but Candace made sure that our day went smoothly and that we did not need to worry about a thing. Wow! Talk about a coordinator that goes above and beyond! Candace was always just a quick phone call or text away. I hired Candace to be a three-month coordinator, as I had been engaged for almost two years and had already locked in most of my vendors. Living on the West Coast I needed someone to help also nothing is that fun to plan three months before the wedding as vendors are asking you a million questions. I was able to hop on the phone with Candace and tell her what I wanted and she would get back to all the vendors and make it happen. I spoke with about 4 - 5 other coordinators and the last one was Candace I knew before I got off the phone with her I wanted her! She is calm but gets things done, knows how to work with all your vendors, and is such a sweet soul. My wedding was at Swan House (at Atlanta History Center) and Candace made sure it was the best day of my life - by building a timeline for all vendors, bringing two assistance on-site, making sure the wedding party got to all the places they needed to, picked up late-night food for the whole wedding, and just made sure it was everything I dreamed of. I highly recommend, Smooth as Butter Weddings! -

Ellen was our primary coordinator and did a FANTASTIC job. We hired her as month-of and day-of support. I could text, email or call and she would get on it ASAP. She was a wiz at dealing with any fussy family and had our venue set up and ready to go in no time. She handled all of the vendors effortlessly and took so much off my plate! I am also a very detail-oriented person so she was very accommodating to my spreadsheets and many many questions : ) We seriously would not change a single thing about our wedding - everything was beyond perfect. Three cheers for Candace (& Butter)
From the beginning, Candace was easy to work with, friendly, knowledgeable, and interested in our vision (and us as people). She was responsive, flexible, and organized, and also was good at gently dealing with strong personalities, stress, and handoffs (like when it was time for me to stop trying to fuss over a timeline). Taking over vendor communications in the last couple weeks preserved my sanity! And she was such a fun, friendly face all during the wedding day. There were, of course, a couple of small day-of imperfections with our venue, but those were the fault of the venue and not Candace who took it all in stride (and kept me shielded so I didn't worry - ha)! My parents, spouse and I are so glad that she was on our team. Thank you Candace! -

Brides!!! I’m not sure what our wedding would have been like without Candace as our day of coordinator .She was the glue that kept everything together and was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Amazing Coordinator/Officiant/Videographer!!
Smooth As Butter was such an instrumental part of my big day (from day-of coordinating, to officiating, to viedographer services)!! Leading up to my wedding, Candace was always available via text or email any time I had a question and was super timely with her responses. When I was struggling to find the right floral vendor, she quickly helped me identify the perfect florist within my budget who exceeded my expectations! On my big day, she seamlessly coordinated my vendor load-in and executed a flawless setup of all of my small details. She made it so that I did not have to worry about a single thing, and I was truly able to enjoy every moment of my wedding day. She also served as my officiant, and did an impeccable job incorporating everything that was important to my husband and I into our ceremony script. She is super personable, kind, hard-working, and so enthusiastic about the weddings she plans. Candace really hears your needs and makes you so excited about all the possibilities for your Big Day.
