Smolak Farms was the perfect venue!!!! The apple orchard for the ceremony and the rustic feel in the reception area was better than we ever could have asked for. The wedding coordinator was most helpful, most caring, and most understanding person to work with throughout the whole process. She constantly reassured us over following year any time we were worried about a step in the process and she helped so much keep us on track in our planning. On top of that, her recommendations for vendors were perfect. She went above and beyond at every turn and we truly cannot express just how much we appreciated working with her. SHE IS AMAZING.

On the day of the event, the wedding staff there were very communcative and kind. We loved working with all of them. The set-up inside of the reception area was soooo beautiful. The fire pit was such a nice addition for the kids too. We had a few add-ons too that were really nice, like the donut wall and ice cream from the venue, the staff arranging our flowers, etc. We could not recommend this venue enough. They made everything so much easier and so perfect for us. We love Smolak!!!!!!!!!!!

We just had the most magical, romantic, and beautiful wedding at Smolak Farms in their Barn!

From the very beginning Elaine was amazing to work with! Over the year, Elaine was always available for anything we needed! She helped us create the wedding of our dreams! It was a truly Happily Ever After experience!
Elaine and her staff worked together to allow us (my husband and myself) to let go once the planning was done and coordinated with all of our vendor’s, like a well oiled machine to have everything we wanted to come together!
Even though it rained on our wedding day, Elaine and Mara made sure our wedding went off without a problem! We felt so taken care of by her and the staff! Their expertise in event planning made everything Perfect!

We just had our wedding at Smolak Farms and could not have had a better experience start to finish. Elaine was a godsend throughout the entire process. Elaine has been available and accommodating since day one. Throughout the entire process, she constantly checked in with us to ask us if we need anything or had any questions. She was readily available to answer any and all questions and offered suggestions and feedback throughout, that was greatly welcomed by us. As we got closer to our wedding date, Elaine helped us feel relaxed and organized. The day of the rehearsal, Elaine and her team were ready for our rowdy bridal party, and kept us organized and on track for a quick rehearsal. Elaine and her team were extremely detail oriented and had everything organized and set up the day of - they not only received and set up our charcuterie, board delivery and pastry delivery, but the entire venue was decorated beautifully beyond our initial vision. We got so many compliments that we owe to Elaine and her team on the location, ceremony, and reception. Elaine and her team went above and beyond all of our expectations for our wedding day and truly brought our wedding vision to life, and then some. We had been told to expect things to not go according to plan, we did not experience that at all. Everything went more than perfect that day. We couldn’t be more grateful for them and recommend Smolak Farms more highly!!! Thank you Elaine and team!!!!

It has taken me 6 months to process how perfect our wedding was and write this much deserved review. Ashley and her team were so wonderful and helpful to work with, from the early planning all the way through the night of, they went so above and beyond. Ashley made sure things ran smoothly, helped with last minute decorations/details, and my family was so impressed by how wonderful she was at helping orchestrate what can sometimes be chaotic on the night of. I really cannot thank them enough. Smolak’s recommended bartender Deb also went above and beyond with lovely decor, amazing signature drinks our guests still talk about, and being a fun presence. She was more than just your average wedding bartender. We had the perfect early fall day and my dream of a quaint, elegant, rustic outdoor apple orchard wedding was seamlessly executed. I grew up apple picking at Smolak and having our wedding here was really special. Can’t recommend this venue, this team, and of course the cider donuts enough!

We held our micro wedding here in October 2021. Ashley and her team were great. We had cider donuts as part of our dessert and anyone who has been to Smolak knows they are the best donuts around. It was a huge hit with our guests. The wedding area is perfect for a fall wedding. Smolak provided additional decorations, lawn games and we added a fire pit for S’mores. Smolak is a hidden gem for weddings! Our photos were stunning with the orchards and trees as a backdrop. I highly recommend Smolak and their events team.

Smolak Farms was a wonderful and whimsical option for our annual client appreciation event. It was incredibly well executed and the team couldn't have been easier to work with! This event has been a home run and something our clients look forward to each year.

We had our wedding at Smolak Farms on 10/02/2021 and it was absolutely gorgeous. Ashley is wonderful and so easy to work with and the whole venue looked so much better than i could have ever even hope for. Our guests raved about how pretty everything was and how well set up it was. Couldn't recommend them anymore!

We were married on 10/19/19 at Smolak Farms and could not be happier with the entire experience. From the first day we met Ashley we felt like we made a new friend and could trust her to make our day perfect. She was very flexible, gave great advice when we needed it, and along with Meg and the rest of her team, took care of us from the first part of planning through the end of our reception and beyond. They also did an amazing job decorating for the ceremony and reception. Everything was exactly as we had hoped it would, beautiful, cozy, perfect! Thank you Ashley and Meg for giving us the best day of our lives!

We had a fantastic experience with Smolak. Ashley and her team are consummate professionals who ensured that the event went off without a hitch. We were consistently impressed by the hard working Smolak team, and of course the venue is gorgeous. The one thing to note is that you should make sure your DJ is aware that he has to use Smolaks sound system - some DJs get upset about that. However, when we ran into that problem, Ashley very quickly helped us to find another DJ who did an awesome job (DJ Thrilla, who I also highly recommend). No big event is going to go completely smoothly - but you want a team that’s got the experience and the professionalism to handle anything that happens. Ashley, Meg, and the Smolak staff exemplified that attitude and we were SO lucky to have them on our team throughout the wedding planning process and the day-of.

We are so happy we chose Smolak for our venue. Ashley and her team were amazing to work with. We looked at several venues (NH/CT/MA), and this was the first one we found that had the rustic components we were looking for paired with modern amenities (indoor plumbing, fully paved/smooth dance floor, etc.). After meeting and walking the grounds with Ashley we knew with confidence that this was our venue. We decided to host our rehearsal dinner in the barn as well. The catering team that Ashley suggested we work with (Vinwood Caterers) did an amazing job on both rehearsal and wedding dinner meals. Our own wedding decorations were integrated seamlessly, and many of our guests commented that our personal touches added to an already beautiful venue. There are trying times throughout the wedding planning process and we can't stress enough how much better we felt after meeting with Ashley to go over final but important details (coordinating the vendors, order of events). We left her office confident that everything was fully taken care of. Our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all went smoothly and we were blown away by how well the decorations all came together in the space. This farm will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

My husband and I just threw a post-elopement party with ~100 of our closest friends and family at Smolak Farms. This place is unbelievably beautiful - it's like your own rustic forest oasis. The outdoor tent and area is in its own little cove on the farm, making it extremely private. Walking up to the venue, I was BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the tent, tables/chairs, bar area, and all of the extra little decorations (christmas lights, lanterns, flowers, lawn games, etc.) that I didn't expect to be included. It was above and beyond what I dreamed of.

On top of that, Ashley and her staff were so easy to work with. We communicated over phone and email, her responses always timely and thorough. My husband and I live in California, so we planned the entire event remote and didn't see the venue until we arrived the day of the party. I think it says a lot about a venue if they can help you do that, and make you feel confident about how things will run the day of.

The environment, service, and quality of the venue FAR exceeds what you'll pay. You will not regret booking with Smolak! (and be sure to get the cider donuts)

We are so happy we chose Smolak!! After looking at several out of state venues, my fiancé and I thought we’d check out Smolak and are so glad we did. We were looking for an outdoor, summer venue for a less formal, intimate wedding. When we met with Ashley, she gave us immediate confidence that she and her team would be reliable and would help us make our vision for the day a reality. And they went above and beyond! Ashley and her staff were very responsive and helpful throughout the whole planning process. The event manager Elaine was with us through the rehearsal and the night of the wedding, and was absolutely amazing taking charge of the setup and making sure the ceremony and evening flowed smoothly. My fiance and I were able to completely relax and enjoy the evening, knowing the Smolak staff had everything under control. The venue made for a beautiful summer night, and the lawn games, tiki torches, and fire pit created such a fun atmosphere. We weren't sure about working with Smolak's required vendors, but were so pleased with David’s Catering and are still receiving comments, 3 weeks later, about how good the food was. The farm will forever hold a very special place in our hearts.

I don’t even know where to begin! I went through nine months of pregnancy trying to plan the wedding of my dreams all while also taking care of three other small children. Ashley Piazza their head wedding/events coordinator was there with me every step of the way. She could not have been more helpful, informative and professional. But also she got to know me and my family and really understood what I was looking for out of my special day and went above and beyond to ensure I had nothing less. The day of the wedding Elaine allowed me to wait right up to my ceremony time to see if a rain storm would end , WHICH IT DID! Right in the knock of time. Her and her staff quickly brought guests back up to the pergola and wiped down the seats. The whole night she checked in with me, and honestly made sure everything ran smoothly with out a single bump! I enjoy every second of my wedding due to the flawless coordination of Elaine and her staff! The decor was more than I could have asked for and set up perfectly. They even used some of their own farm props! The sparkler send off which can be tricky was also handled flawlessly. I can not recommend the staff and location enough! I go to smolak farm with my family frequently through our the year. To now have it hold even more meaning, we can’t wait for some anniversary cider donuts next year ❤️❤️

Last but not least, Smolak Farms will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Growing up down the street, I had always dreamed to get married at the farm. From day one to crunch time, Ashley Piazza was a stellar coordinator and brought this dream to life. She has impeccable taste and the experience that it takes to help you strategize every detail. She recommends the very best vendors, has a plan for every contingency, and ensures that you will never feel stressed. At the very last minutes she performed miracles that saved the night. The weather could not have made things more difficult for the staff that day, between power outages and ponchos, extreme winds, you name it... they absolutely blew our minds with their fun loving attitude and made sure that the entire day went smoothly! They drove us around the farm in their own cars to keep us dry, managed to secure space in the barn (even with a kids' birthday party upstairs!!) for our first look photos, served us coffee and cider donuts, kept us warm in the bridal suite, and ensured that not a single one of us felt the stress that came with having to work magic when weather misbehaves! The storm didn't stand a chance. Inside that tent, none of it mattered. For so long I had envisioned walking through the gorgeous apple trees to the pergola at their orchard ceremony site. Little did I know that they would create a ceremony for us inside the tent, that was just as gorgeous. We ended up having such a spontaneously magical setting that was absolutely perfect, and all of our expectations were far surpassed. In addition to being some of the kindest, most wonderful people to work with, the pies, donuts, and ice cream were to-die-for. We will never forget cutting our pie together, and guests raved about the selection and their legendary donuts were a favorite treat as always. I was so excited that our friends from out of town could experience fall treats at Smolak! They are still raving. We are so grateful for the Smolak Farms crew and look forward to a lifetime of apple picking, anniversary pies, and hayrides. We love you!!!

We had our wedding at Smolak Farms in early October 2018 and it was absolutely perfect. Ashley was great to work with for everything leading up to the day. She was professional and had all the angles covered. We had to go off list for mist of our vendors, but Ashley worked with them to help them to understand the lay of the land. They were accommodating to all of our quirky requests. They run a tight ship, which makes everything run very smoothly, and as long as you understand that this is a working farm in a residential neighborhood, it’s a beautiful and amazing venue to have a New England fall wedding.

I am at a bit of a loss on how to fully express my gratitude to Ashley and Smolak Farms. My wedding day turned out to be more than I could have ever imagined. Ashley is smart, experienced, kind, attentive and fair. The venue itself has so much to offer that you pretty much just decide on details. Everything about the venue was rustic, lovely and I received a ton of compliments on how instagram/pinterest perfect it was. Smolak Farms is worth every penny. PS - Forego a wedding cake and get their cider donuts, you won't regret it and your guests will thank you for the best donuts they'll ever have.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Smolak Farms in North Andover. I highly recommend holding any event at Smolak Farms. It’s a beautiful venue that can hold large or small events that are rustic, elegant, or anything in between. Ashley, the director of events, was great to work with. She is patient, thorough, and professional. Our wedding reception ran smoothly and our guests had a great time. I can’t thank Smolak Farms enough!

Ashley, Lisa and their crew were miracle makers. We were dealing with sun, rain, sun, rain and they were all over it. From ensuring that our photoshoot went without issue to going back and forth between the tent and the pergola because of the scattered rain, they helped keep us at ease and the vent on schedule. What we got was a wedding that was beyond what we could have dreamed of. You are in good hands with Ashley and Lisa. Also, the apple cider donuts are great and the apple cider caramel donut ice cream may have been the attraction of the evening.

As a kid I went on field trips to Smolak Farms and so it felt nostalgic to me to come back as an adult. It rained on our wedding day 5-19-18 so we had the ceremony inside the tent instead of outside at the pergola, but it was lovely. Ashley was very responsive to me in planning the event but was not present the day of, which was totally fine because Lisa seamlessly picked up the thread the day of and kept us on timeline. The wedding went by so quickly! The bridal suite stocked with fresh lemon water, beer and wine which was appreciated upon arrival. I found all staff to be calm, excited, and present. The vendors approved here are limited, as there is no kitchen, but we were very happy with Butlers and Bars and Littleneck Clam Bake Co. Dessert included apple cider donuts from the farm which everyone raved about. The tent was a lifesaver and kept everyone warm and dry while we danced the night away on the patio flooring! I would highly recommend Smolak Farms!

I can't rave enough about how incredible of a venue Smolak Farms was for our wedding day! Between the setting/scenery, the staff, and the incredible vendor referrals they gave us, it was everything we had hoped for and more.

My husband and I had been going to Smolak Farms for years to pick apples & pumpkins in the Fall so we already adored the setting, but seeing it "all dressed up" for our wedding was absolutely amazing! I felt like I was in a dream!

We worked with Ashley Piazza leading up to our wedding and she helped us with every single little detail, which was especially helpful since I was a clueless bride and didn't know where to even start. She gave solid, honest advice that not only came from an Events Director's perspective, but also from the eyes of someone who is working "behind-the-scenes" from the kitchen to wait staff to bar staff -- because she's had experience in all of those. It made me super confident that with her knowledge and background, the day would be executed perfectly and there would be no hiccups along the way. And I was correct!

From the time we arrived on property the day of, everything we had dropped off the day before in the way of decor and personal accents (which was A LOT of stuff!) was setup perfectly to our request and even more beautiful than we had imagined because of how the staff had executed.

Ashley was super attentive throughout the whole night, without being overbearing, and the Smolak staff members were INCREDIBLE! They were friendly, assertive, and "always there" without feeling like they were hovering. As our evening ended, our photographers had already left and one of the staff members (Colleen) was kind enough to take pictures of husband and I leaving the property through a sparkler exit. She said she knew our photog had left and "thought we would like to have that moment captured" -- how thoughtful!!

I would absolutely recommend Smolak & would do my wedding again there if I could!!

Absolutely amazing!!! I got married at Smolak Farms last weekend and I had to write a review as soon as possible! My whole experience with Ashley and her team has been amazing and seamless. My husband and I were engaged for 7 months and from start to finish Ashley has been accessible, communicative and super flexible. The actual day went by without any glitches and I didn't feel like I had to stress out about any decorations or logistics. It was all in their very capable hands! The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL. Guests loved the food from Little Neck, which is one of their preferred vendors and we also opted for the Smolak pies, which everyone raved about. Truly, a wonderful experience and I'd highly recommend. Thank you Ashley and team!!!

Wow, I don't even know where to begin. Our wedding at Smolak Farms was on September 16th and it was an absolute dream come true! We booked our venue in 2014 and worked with Ashley as our main point of contact. She was AMAZING, made everything feel easy and stress-free. The team was great, they did an awesome job with setting up all the decor I brought to them the night of our rehearsal. We used the barn for the cocktail hour which I highly suggest (it is optional and an additional cost and worth every penny!). The lights in the barn were breath taking and everyone had such a good time. We had corn hole and other games set up during cocktail hour and over by the tent reception as well as the firepit with smores for guests. Everyone seriously had such a fun time, danced all night and everything went smoothly! I couldn't thank the Smolak staff enough for making our day absolutely perfect. The venue is beautiful - especially for the fall. The apple trees were in full bloom and the pictures came out great!

Smolak farms was an incredible venue for our July wedding! I have been to the farm many times but my husband was new to the farm. We both found the farm charming, fun and flexible. We can not say enough wonderful things about Ashley, Harmony and the team at Smolak Farms. The grounds are beautiful and the team went above and beyond to make our wishes come true. This included a very memorable enterance on an old tractor. It was magical and fun! The farm was hands on, supportive and all around wonderful. We served cider donuts as guest arrived- a huge huge hit! Guests played lawn games in the pine grove as we took pictures in the barn. We had smores as favors and had a beautiful fire pit for guest to enjoy throughout the night. It was the best! The farm provided us with a beautiful setting and lots of options to help us make this the best day ever. Guest were very impressed and we were so pleased with Smolak.

Amazing wedding venue!

I had my wedding at Smolak farm on August 16,2015. We had our ceremony in the orchard and our reception in the Barn. It was absolute perfection. We got ready in the little cottege next to the barn ( pay the extra it's so worth it). They boys got ready over in the office. I never stressed the entire day. Ashley and her staff made sure everything was running smoothly along with the help of my amazing wedding planner ( my aunt). The food was amazing, we used Littleneck Clambake and it was Divine. We did BBQ and I had no complaints. The bar service was great. One complain I had was the Heat in the barn, IT WAS HOT. We had to postpone dancing and everyone was outside socializing but besides that it went all without a hitch!

Planing a wedding is a very stressful task especially when you are planing from out of state as I was (we live in Florida) Once we met with Ashley and saw the grounds of smolak farm we knew it was meant to be. Ashley made me feel comfortable and was very helpful through out the whole planing process. She made sure to find time to meet with me on days that worked with my schedule and each time made me feel confident that we picked the right venue. On the day of the wedding it was better than I could ever have imagined. It was truly my dream wedding and my guest are still talking about what a good time they had! Ashley and her crew are very professional and make sure you do not have to worry about anything come your big day! I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a rustic/farm type wedding... You will not be disappointed!

Everyone on the Smolak Farms team made our wedding day a dream come true. Ashley, our main contact, was incredibly supportive and responsive from start to finish. The venue itself is incredible. The apple orchards were in full bloom and the farm was the perfect backdrop for our families and friends to gather. There were many fun amenities, such as the lawn games, fire pit, hay rides, cider donuts, and a gorgeous gazebo. Smolak Farms was exactly what we were looking for...a beautiful rustic environment for our dream wedding.

I have been coming to Smolak Farms since I was a kid and I may be biased, but I think they have the best apple cider donuts in the world. I reached out to the Farm Stand about using their donuts as favors for my wedding this past Fall and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. Mary Stewart is the Farm Stand manager and she is lovely and a breeze to work with. I live out of state so almost all of the planning was coordinated by email and phone. They have many favor options (donuts, donut holes, other farm stand goods) and they will package them for you for a small fee. I had a personalized sticker made and they were able to accommodate that on the packaging. They also have a local delivery option if you can't make it to the farm on the day of your wedding to pick them up. The favors turned out perfectly: the packaging was beautiful and elegant and the donuts were DELICIOUS as usual. I'm still getting messages from wedding guests about how great of an idea it was. And it was all very reasonably priced. If you're looking for fun, delicious wedding favors that you your guests will love, I highly recommend you consider Smolak.

Our wedding was months ago and our family and friends still rave about how beautiful the farm was. Perfect setting for any occasion. Staff was very flexible thorough with every detail.

We got married in Las Vegas on August 30th but decided to have an post-wedding reception back at home on September 20th, 2014 for about 130 people. We decided to go with Smolak Farms because the venue was a gorgeous apple orchard. It was exactly what we were looking for. Ashley, our wedding coordinator was so helpful. The day came and everything went so smooth from the décor, to the DJ, fire pit, jumpy house to the food and most important the AMAZING Cider Donuts. We couldn\'t have picked a more perfect venue. If you like outdoor country theme then this is the place for you. They also have a small barn but we didn\'t use it.\r\n\r\nI would definitely host another party here.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with Smolak Farms! We knew right away that this was the perfect setting for our wedding. Our ceremony was hosted in the apple orchard, followed by reception in the pine grove. Ashley was our main point of contact and she was completely on top of the logistics and provided exceptional and competent staff for the day of the wedding. Even when obstacles presented, the entire Smolak team was flexible and accommodating. We can never thank Smolak enough for helping us create our dream wedding!

Our Planner was Sarrah Young. She is fantastic and available for my every whim. The farm was a perfect selection for us as it is very homey and rustic. We did both the ceremony (glad our Pastor agreed) and the reception there. Our ceremony took place at an heirloom apple orchard with a gazebo. Our reception was under a three peaked tent, surrounded by cathedral pines. It had a parquet dance floor. At the farm we arranged for a golf cart to get some of our guest up to the ceremony part which worked great. We also used their bakery for homemade pies (DELISH), their honey for our favors, and hay rides during our "merriment (cocktail) hour".

If you are looking for a child friendly, farm location for your wedding, then check out this venue. We had our wedding at Smolak in July 2016, having only started looking in March!!

The team there were really helpful (especially Ashely, the events co-ordinator) and flexible - they gave us options for caterers, florists, photographers and worked with us through the whole process to make it as easy as possible.

The day itself was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable time.

My husband and I were so impressed with Smolak! The team, and particularly Ashley our event coordinator, were the perfect mix of responsive but chill. We didn’t feel too pressured to do anything, and they definitely let us have free creative reign over what the tent would look like for our ~200 person event. Ashley was realistic and honest about her recommendations (e.g. she was clear that she felt we would like the tent extension so guests would have extra space, yet didn’t make us go crazy with renting other extra items) and we never felt like she up sold us on anything. She was also great at coordinating with all of our other vendors. Again, they were very professional and always got right back to us, but definitely had a cool attitude that did not feel as stuffy as other venues. This whole approach perfectly complements the beautiful New England back drop Smolak offered our guests.

Besides continuing to comment on how laid back but professional (exactly what we wanted!) the group was, we would like to share one specific anecdote that may be helpful for brides/grooms who are trying to decide between Smolak and other venues. We were married on October 2nd, 2015, the day Hurricane Joaquin was hitting New England. Naturally, having a tented wedding with hurricane conditions predicted was starting to feel a bit overwhelming. Ashley’s team was just so unbelievable through all of this. Without us asking, they offered us the barn for our ceremony. It was perfect. Her staff and the owners of the farm were running around shuttling chairs, purchasing extra umbrellas, and making sure everything was going off without a hitch. Ashley, Harmony, and the rest of the Smolak team really made us feel special, even if we were content on being a low key wedding. We are looking forward to visiting again in the fall, and would certainly work with Smolak again in the future for other events.

Smolak Farms and it's staff made our wedding day the most magical day I could have ever imagined. If you are getting married, and looking for a place in a beautiful setting that feels down to earth, welcoming and warm - Smolak Farms is the perfect place. The tent is down by a pond by a beautiful lake in a grove of super tall pine trees (amazing for photos), and the old barn is strung with tons of little lights, making it really feel like a dream. Ashley and her staff are incredible - we had a few bumps in the road leading up to our day, and Ashley worked miracles, and went way out if her way to make sure our day was perfect, and it was. She truly cares about all of her brides, and so does all her staff. Thank you Smolak Farms!!

We loved having our wedding at Smolak. It was so nice and personalized. Our event was small but I can see them hosting larger events and doing as good of a job as ours. Great management and staff. Gorgeous spot! Highly recommend it.

My husband and I had a wonderful wedding at Smolak! It was great to find an affordable, rustic space so close to Boston to host our family and friends. Ashley and her team were incredibly available, detail-oriented, but also laid back (in a good way)as we worked through the planning process. Logistics went off without a hitch. The only feedback would be around the fact that Ashley needed to leave the venue early the night of the wedding without a lot of for warning. The staff she left in charge was more than capable and did an awesome job, I would just have liked a heads up ahead of time and to have met that staff before the day of the event. We also got talked into having sides on the tent for the reception even though I would have preferred to do without, but I was fine making the accommodation since events the night before and after needed the sides. Overall, an amazing wedding and I would recommend this venue to any future couple. Same-sex couple friendly as well!

We absolutely LOVED having out wedding at Smolak! It is such a gorgeous place to get married. The team there did a fantastic job setting everything up to look so amazing. I really can't believe that we just dropped a bunch of stuff off, talked with Ashley about where we wanted it to go, and when we showed up on the big day, voila! It was all done for us! It blew us away! I especially love that smolak already has so much cute decor already in place that we really didn't have to bring too much! They have great signs, lights, tables, and other rustic accessories. Sometimes I look at the photos and can't even believe it was our wedding that looked so cute and like something you would see on Pinterest!

Beyond just the looks of the farm though, the staff was great! They worked so hard to make sure everything was seamless on the day of the wedding...And considering there was a huge lightening and HAIL storm right when the ceremony was slated to begin, that was a tall order!! Ashley did a great job managing the situation all while checking in with us to make sure we were fine and still enjoying ourselves while waiting it out in the bridal suite. She stayed so calm and optimistic throughout. The second the rain subsided, a whole crew of people were up at the gazebo drying off the chairs and making sure everything was still ok and in place. They also did a great job drying off the dance floor so no one would slip!! It barely even seemed like there was a storm. At the end of the night, they cleared everything away and stored it all for us to pick up at our convenience. We didn't have to lift a finger and were able to just enjoy ourselves and our guests.

Overall we had such an unbelievable time...and so did our guests. They were raving about it for weeks! I'm so glad we got married there and are now excited to make apple picking at the farm and yearly tradition.

I highly recommend Smolak farms for both your wedding ceremony and reception.

My husband and I got married at Smolak Farms this passed Halloween and it was my number one choice for our venue, and I'm so thankful we got it! I will admit that in the beginning there were a few reservations we had, being that they are closed from early Winter into the Spring so it makes it hard to be in communication about planning, etc. and there was a bit of controversy about noise complaints regarding venues being held there but once we hashed out all those bumps, it was smooth sailing. It was the most perfect setting for our "rustic Halloween" theme. We had our ceremony onsite in the apple orchard and rented the antique barn for cocktail hour (the upstairs is just breathtaking all lit up with twinkling white lights and rustic barn decor), and then our reception was held in the three-peaked tent. I think I could go on and on about all the amazing little details, like the torches lighting the walkway, the fire pit, the vintage glass bottles with flowers hung from the giant pine trees and not to mention how the giant pines are laced with white Christmas lights which make the "woods" look like a scene straight out of a movie. Ashley, the wedding coordinator is amazing. She was like one of the girls every time we met and so enthusiastic about our whole day. She coordinated our whole rehearsal and was there from the early morning until mid-evening the day of the wedding. Her staff is also amazing! Harmony took over midway through the night and she made sure I ate, kept an eye on the groomsmen, and when I said I would walk from the ceremony to the barn for cocktail hour (basically a small hike when you're in a giant gown) she absolutely refused and loaded me up onto the golf cart! They were all really so sweet. Our pictures came out amazing with the beautiful scenery there. I would say our only small complaint is that events must be over by 10pm because of the music, but other than that minor detail it was the most perfect venue for our rustic wedding.

When we first saw this venue we knew immediately it was one that we loved. What solidified our decision was meeting Ashley. She was incredibly nice, professional and fun, which made it very easy for us to choose this venue. We are a pretty laid back couple and what we found at Smolak Farms not only provided our laid back style, but the classy rustic look we envisioned. Ashley was always attentive to our needs and always had answers to our questions.

From beginning to end we have to say we had a very memorable wedding day at Smolak Farms and Ashley certainly made that happen.

We had our wedding at the Farm. It was an absolutely beautiful setting and venue. The rustic Barn the scenery the tent by the pond. It was like a fairytale dream. We had a few hiccups along the way, but the day was beautiful and the Owner made sure everything was made right for us for our wedding day and took care of it all. Our pictures were amazing. Truly a fairytale.

I was a guest not a Bride or part of a Bridal Party. From the time I arrived and wasn't sure what Parking Lot to Park in, because there was no signage even acknowledging this was where the wedding was being held. To watching the father of the groom pushing his father, the grandfather up the hill in a wheelchair because no accommodations for the handicapped or elderly guest was made available. Let's not talk about the heat in the tent with not even a fan to circulate the air, just the sides open up for ventilation. It was not amusing to watch the top two layers of the Wedding cake slide onto the floor, due to the heat. The food, the wedding was excellent, the uncertainty of where, if and what we as guest are supposed to do now, no idea given, or signs posted, etc. Do we go up for our appetizers, do they bring them to the table? We are to go up for our food, then why do we have a place setting with what we requested for dinner. Why plastic utensils, etc., etc. Enough said because, for someplace that has had numerous weddings, they have a lot to learn.

The venue was beautiful, and we had a good time at our wedding. That said, the process of getting there was a nightmare. There was absolutely no organization or coordination. A few examples:

1) We were supposed to owe a 50% deposit in April. I followed up with the coordinator, Elaine, multiple times asking about the deposit and how she wanted to handle payment. The times I followed up, I either got no response or I got a "I'll have to get back to you" with no follow up. 2 days before the wedding I finally got a text asking if I wanted her to charge the full amount ($8200) to an old credit card she found on file

2) When we sat down our details meeting weeks before the wedding, Elaine's first question was "so do you have any idea of when you might want to have your event?" We talked through many details, but she didn't write down a single note. Not exactly confidence inspiring

3) The details kept changing. For example, we had originally wanted to have a dance floor brought in, as the floor in the tent is just cement pavers. We were originally told they had a vendor they could coordinate that with, and then just let us know the cost. When we got to the details meeting it was clear that no coordination had been done, and we'd have to figure it out ourselves. Elaine told us it'd be easiest if we had the dance floor delivered the day prior, and picked up the day after. I very specifically asked Elaine if that was okay, and she confirmed that they didn't have any other events going on that weekend. She said "oh no, I find that it's just too chaotic to try to have multiple events in one weekend." The next day I get a text from Elaine informing me that they had events scheduled the day before AND after ours, so we would have to have the dance floor delivered and picked up on the same day. We ended up forgoing the dance floor.

4) On the day of, things just didn't match up with what Elaine had told us during the planning process. For example, there was trash all over the ceremony site from the wedding the night prior that we had to cleanup. We were told that there would be a dedicated staff member in the parking lot directing guests where to go. This did not happen, and guests kept getting lost and walking by us trying to take pictures. We were told that when it was time to line up for the ceremony, the staff would escort us all to line up through the orchard using a golf cart. This did not happen. My maid of honor tried to ask Elaine where we were supposed to go so guests didn't see us before the ceremony, but got no helpful answers. Elaine had also promised that she would help direct our bridal party for walking down the aisle. She did not help with this at all, and just stood off to the side. She also said promised to stand at the back/side of the aisle to remind us to stop and kiss for a picture during the recessional, but did not do this either.

The venue is stunning, but if you want to get married here I would highly recommend hiring your own coordinator to avoid the headaches. Just be careful with that, because halfway through the planning process Elaine texted me that they changed their policies and would ONLY be willing to communicate with the bride and groom directly. The hourly staff was lovely on the day of. Everyone was very friendly and pleasant, and our decor looked great. We ended up having a nice time, and our guests were complimentary. Everything ended up working out fine, it was just unnecessarily stressful getting there.

My husband and I got married there last year. We booked with the original coordinator, but left the business and handed everything over to Elaine—assuring us that she had it covered. She didn’t. During the rehearsal we ran through everything being done outside. However, there was an incredibly strong chance of rain for the day of. We asked to run through things if they had to be done in the tent. She refused. Then she assured me she would be on site at 7-8am the day of to make things ready. I tell her myself and my bridesmaids are coming at about 8. I get there and she’s no where to be found, the AC in the bridal suite doesn’t work, the bathrooms are locked and there’s no toilet paper in them. She strolls in at 11am and keeps asking me if I want to do the wedding inside the tent or if I want to wait to see if it will stop. I tell her we have to do it in the tent because there isn’t going to be enough time for the grass to dry off enough for it not to be dangerous for older guests. She blows me off, tells my husband to decide because “I don’t care either way” and he says exactly what I said. No one set up the archway I bought decorations for. I found out my cousin (who was doing our centerpieces) got there at about 2:30/3pm (our ceremony started at 4) and nothing was done and ended up doing it herself with the help of her fiancé. Throughout the night, Elaine was unhelpful and rude. Physically pulling me away from guests because she felt the cake had to be cut right then. (If it weren’t for Hailey, our day would’ve been a total bust)
The absolute worst part was yet to come. I left my wedding gown and veil in the bridal suite overnight to dry hanging up. Because of the rain, there was a good amount of mud on the bottom of my dress. I was the last person out of that room as her cleaning staff went to work. Elaine calls and asks if I knew I left my dress. I tell her I know “I left it hanging up to dry off”. We come by the next day to get my dress and my heart stops when I don’t see it (and the veil) hanging where I left it. I look around and it is BALLED UP ON THE FLOOR ON TOP OF MY VEIL (THE VEIL MY MOTHER WORE ON HER WEDDING DAY). Mud is now on the entire dress and the veil and the headpiece attached is smooshed.
I’m seeing red, so my husband goes to talk to her and before he can finish saying how we found the dress, she cuts him off claiming “my people didn’t do it!” And continues with the most absurd excuse like “I don’t know what happened I didn’t see it” and contradicts herself “I thought maybe she left it a specific way and didn’t want to touch it”. Then texts me an hour later essentially saying “it’s too bad about your dress but if you had told me you were going to leave it, I would’ve put it in my office”. I did tell her. She knew. And she has the nerve to not apologize at ALL but also essentially blame me for what happened.
My mom called the next day and asked if she had seen a purple raincoat there (she left it there by accident. I asked the next day before finding my dress and she said she would look and call back) and Elaine said no and then changed her story to “someone on my staff found it and someone else said they knew who it belonged to and took it” clearly making it up on the spot.
So please, save yourself the headache and go ANYWHERE else

*Booked in June 2017 with the ceremony at the gazebo in the orchard, and reception to follow in the barn*
Arrived on July 9,2018 (for our October'18 contracted wedding walk thru) to find the Gazebo gone and brought over across the road to the side of the highway along the fence and steps away from the port-a-potty. This area did not have enough seating for our guests unless they were in the dirt driveway. The Barn was filthy with piles of bird feces , smelled horrible (that was "going to be cleaned prior") and stuff hanging on the walls, from previous events that wasn't going to be removed. BUT the biggest change was no guarantee of our reception time (10pm), that we had already contracted for. Due to the lack of the written request placed with the Town of Andover after multiple in writing and even at our walk-thru conversation with Ashley, requests and reminders by us we were told by the Town Manager the request was never submitted. So we arrive at August 8, 2018 and are forced to accept all the changes at the venue and to change the guests expected wedding event time, vendor contracts etc. to 9:00 pm, or to take our deposit back. Oh, they did however offer us a $500.00 discount for our trouble..what?!
Luckily for us we found an incredible wedding venue in Plymouth, NH (thebarnonthepemi.com) very last minute who treated us like a welcomed and important couple spending thousands of dollars at their establishment should be treated!!
We expedited a very quick deposit return from Smolak Farms (that they did do) and unfortunately for our guests had to send out new invitation for change of venue and RSVP demands immediately. We are sad that we lost out on some guests for the location, but NOT sad that we spent our hard earned money at a nice, clean, communicative and magical wedding venue. NO ONE should have to experience this after 14 mos. of pre-booked and a pre-planned event. Please seriously consider your choice here!
