    Yuuummmm - organized - professional!

    Smoke on the Water was definitely a crowd pleaser! They did a wonderful job catering our wedding. The food was delicious and there was plenty and more for everyone! They also made sure that our plate was made for us so that we could eat quickly before going to say hi and greet everyone. They also made us to-go meals in a cooler that had a slice of our cake as well. Mike, the owner, is so sweet and brought us a TON of food for our tasting!! Word to the wise- be hungry and wear your fat pants for the tasting!! I could have just eaten the Mac-n-cheese!! Thank you again Smoke on the Water for such fabulous service!

    🥘 AMAZING Southern Cuisine!

    After I did the tasting, I knew I had to book with Smoke on the Water! We ordered the pulled pork, brisket and the shrimp 🍤 & grits. One of our sides was the Mac n’ cheese which I heard from multiple people that it was the BEST Mac n’ cheese they had ever had! My sister loved it so much, she ordered enough for 50 of her friends and family two weeks after 😁 This company is very professional and easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend them.

    Smoke on the Water catered our reception of 165 people and it was absolutely perfect!! We had a buffet style dinner and everything tasted absolutely perfect. Our guests absolutely raved about everything, especially the shrimp and grits. SOTW thought about every detail and were so accommodating. They ordered our plate rentals from PPR for us, made our meals so we didn't have to wait in the buffet line, and even packed us a cooler for after the reception. Smoke on the Water was the perfect catering vendor for our reception!

    Almost four months later and people are STILL talking about how delicious the food at our wedding was! Seriously - the Smoke team was PHENOMENAL, the food was DELICIOUS, and they have a customer for life out of us. We slightly ran out of mac & cheese but I guess that's what happens when half your wedding is from up north and they've never heard of fried okra before. The catering team was a joy to work with and treated all our guests and other vendors with such courtesy. It was a true surprise at the end of the night when they (along with the help of our planner) sent leftovers to my suite at the hotel. At 2am I was stuffing my face with more mac & cheese and my husband was pulling bobby pins out of my hair. On top of everything, they were hands down the most affordable caterer we found and we could not have been happier with our decision to hire them.

    We decided to use Smoke on the Water for our wedding on October 1st and I could not be happier with my decision! They provided the hors d'oeuvres and dinner and everyone was going on and one about how awesome it was! Kelly was such a dream to work with.. she answered all of my many questions promptly and made me feel at ease with the entire process. The servers were so great and obviously, the food was phenomenal! My Grandfather even came up to me and said it was the best BBQ he had ever had! All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend using Smoke for your wedding or event!! They will not disappoint!

    We chose Smoke on the Water to cater our wedding reception this May and couldn't be happier with that decision. They were a pleasure to work with and their food is amazing! We wanted southern comfort food that everyone would enjoy and they truly outdid themselves. Everyone can't stop raving about how delicious it was! It was definitely not your typical boring wedding food and everyone loved that about it! Thank you so much Mike and to all of the awesome servers who helped make our reception dinner such a hit. Y'all rock!

    I wish i could give Mike and his team at Smoke on the Water 10 stars, because i would! First off, Mike was more than accommodating. He answered every single one of my questions (there were a lot) and never failed to meet my expectations! He wanted to make sure that my (now) husband and i enjoyed our night, and that we didn't worry about a thing. His staff was professional and beyond courteous! On to the food ... we had a tasting with Smoke on the Water back in January .. i knew immediately that this was the caterer we wanted to have cater our wedding. This was our 5th tasting, and knew from the start this was it. Every single item was southern and delicious, exactly what we wanted! We have had countless guests rave about how amazing the food was. Mike was hands down the best vendor to work with throughout this wedding process. You won't find a caterer with this great of food, at this great of a price. I will recommend him to every bride to be i come in contact with!

    I can't say enough about the team at Smoke on the Water. They were all so accommodating. During our tasting they treated us like royalty and the food at the wedding was to die for. We had so many compliments on the catering. I will definitely be visiting the restaurant more and I absolutely recommend this vendor!!!

    I cannot recommend Smoke on the Water enough. Mike Shuler and his team catered my wedding at the end of September, and they went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect . The food? Absolutely delicious! We frequent the restaurant a lot when we are in town, and the quality and freshness of the food for our 100+ guests was equal to what you get at the restaurant. We are still receiving compliments over 3 weeks later.

    As for value, we offered our guests several appetizers (the fried green tomatoes are an absolute must!), a carving station with some of the most amazing steak that I have ever tasted, and two other entree choices with several sides and paid about HALF of what other local caterers were quoting per guest for significantly less offerings. The value just can't be beat.

    I would use Smoke on the Water for a catering event again in a heartbeat.

    One of my favorite vendors from my wedding! Smoke on the Water was the easiest vendor to work with, the provided delicious food for my reception, and all for an incredibly low price! HIGHLY recommend!

    Mike Schuler and his staff are wonderful! You get a lot of bang for your buck compared to other caterers, and if you have even tried Smoke on the Water, you will know that the food is delicious! It has been over two weeks since our wedding, and people are still talking about how great the food was. Mike is very flexible and goes above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. I really cannot say enough great things about Smoke on the Water!

    Smoke on the Water did a great job catering our wedding. The food was absolutely delicious, in fact, we are still receiving compliments from our guests on how good everything was!! Mike and his staff were all super attentive, friendly, professional and beyond helpful. I will definitely use Smoke on the Water to cater any future events that we might have--they are simply awesome!

    I would highly recommend Smoke on the Water for a reception venue. The service was AMAZING and the food was DELICIOUS. They were even able to accommodate us arriving early because our photos did not take as long as planned.

    Smoke on the Water did an amazing job at our wedding. Mike was wonderful to work with and super helpful throughout the planning process. The food was hot and delicious and the service was top notch. We received so many compliments about the food and service. It really was perfect.I would highly recommend Mike and his staff!!!

    Smoke on the Water catered our wedding of about 215 guests and the food was absolutely perfect. Everyone raved about how good it was and how it seemed like a meal you would have at a restaurant and not a buffet/stations catered meal. They also made sure it was set up in a way that made the lines flow quickly and no one had to wait long for food! That being said, it was a little difficult to get a hold of the catering manager because they are so busy. You just have to be a little patient but they are very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely choose SOTW again!

    Smoke on the Water's food was amazing! So many people told us how much they loved the food. They even packed up a cooler for us which we used for lunch the next day. We currently even have 3 full pans of food in our freezer that they packed up for us which is awesome. On the day of, they made up our plates for us (we had a buffet) so that we didn't have to get in line for food; during pictures, they brought us a plate of the cocktail hour appetizers that we were missing out on. The reason they don't get 5 stars from me is because of the communication leading up to the event. It took awhile to hear back from emails sometimes and one time I received no response until I called the restaurant over a week later. Other than that, their service and food on the day of was great.

    Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our rehearsal dinner at Smoke on the Water. A few years ago we attended a rehearsal dinner there and had a great experience. We love the food and they were very nice over the phone so we booked them.
    We booked the private room for the 5:00 dinner slot. People began trickling in between 5-5:15. They took drink orders immediately when each person walked in. People continue to trickle in. Everyone sits down, no water is on the table despite the fact that we are the first private party of the day. It is not until 30-45 minutes later the very first people who ordered drinks begin receiving their drinks and the wait staff begin to pass out waters. Everyone had walked from the hotels downtown on a semi warm night so they got a little impatient. At this point, family is getting up , going to the bar and ordering/paying for their own drinks. Mind you, the wait staff in the room is trying VERY hard but they were unable to keep up with the speed- There was 3 person wait staff for our room, which would be adequate if one of the three wasn't working their first night at the restaurant. Then, the food starts to come out- very sporadically. We have 4 tables, each with approximately 8-12 people, they bring 1/4 of the entrees to each table, followed by the sides, followed by the rest of the entrees. The sides are family style so by the time the last few people are getting the food the sides were cold.

    My biggest complaint: We went to the manager 3 times throughout the 3 hour period. He never once came to the private room to check with us on how things were going and seemingly never once made an effort to make any changes over how the night was run.

    Not Worth the Price

    I went to a wedding recently where "Smoke on the Water" was the caterer. While I think the goal of the meal was to be able to feed a larger crowd on a budget; I feel the need to describe what that actually looked like. Food was slopped on the plate in small quantities. The Cesar salad was completely saturated, limp, and consisted of more crouton than salad (I think I had 4 pieces of chopped lettuce). They gave me 4 sweet potato tater tots that were cold and falling apart. I will say that the macaroni and cheese was delicious! It took a long time for them to be able to open the buffet, and the cocktail hour ended up being extended as a result. If you're on a budget, it's one of the cheaper catering options. Just know, that the quality/service was not great.
