Emily was absolutely INCREDIBLE from start to finish. Before our wedding, she took the time to interview us (not an interrogation, it was actually really fun) and realy get to know our story, our relationship, and what mattered most to us. She brought a polished speech to out ceremony that felt deeply personal and authentic. She shared our story sooo beautifully that our family and friends felt connected to every moment, and like pretty much all the guests commented afterward about how meaningful the ceremony was.
After that, Emily went beyond my expectations.... she proactively handled the paperwork afterward & detailing next steps. The value she provides is exceptional. I don't have enough to say positively: she's organized, thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely invested in making wedding day special. We are SO grateful she was part of our celebration and would recommend Smitten without hesitation to any couple looking for an officiant who truly cares :D -

Truly the best!
I don't have enough good things to say about Smitten State Weddings! From the first moment we met Emily on a virtual call, we knew that we wanted her to write our ceremony. She wrote a beautiful ceremony that captured my husband and I perfectly. She wasn't available to officiate our wedding, which we knew before signing a contract with her. Caitie did a wonderful job officiating our ceremony. We had a few last minute changes (like an unexpected thunderstorm), and Caitie was such a calming presence who adapted to the new setting so quickly. We're forever grateful to both of them for making our day so special and memorable! -

I CANNOT RECOMMEND EMILY ENOUGH!!! She made the ceremony the absolute highlight of our wedding. We laughed, we cried, we celebrated with ease because she made it so personal and tailored to our love story. She worked closely with us every step of the way to create a truly unique and special ceremony that impeccably reflected our love! She even worked with us to customize a tree planting unity ceremony.
We received so many compliments from our guests with comments like "That was the best ceremony I have ever attended!" to "Why haven't I met your best friend Emily before?" Her ceremony was so personalized that everyone was convinced she had been our friend for years! She is so warm, well spoken, thoughtful and I wouldn't have wanted anyone up there with us as we got married.
Emily took the time to answer all of our questions, calm our nerves, revise the ceremony whenever we changed our minds, and to really get to know us and understand our values as she ushered us into the next stage of our relationship. She made the wedding process effortless and anyone would be lucky to have her on their special day. -

We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Emily. She honestly was the best thing that happened to us during our wedding planning process and was a true bright spot in what can often be a stressful, emotional process. Emily is an absolute gem—her warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine kindness made every step of the journey enjoyable.
Emily made our wedding ceremony not only thoughtful and tear-provoking, but also engaging and fun for us our guests! She took the time to get to know us as a couple, adding those important personal touches so that our wedding truly reflected us as a couple. It was clear that she was invested in making our day special, and the result was a ceremony that left us and our guests in awe. We received sooooooo many compliments afterward, with one close family member even saying, “Everything else could’ve gone wrong, but as long as Emily was there, it would’ve been a great wedding!”
Emily also totally crushed our wedding rehearsal. She was kind, fun, and incredibly organized, helping to wrangle our large, chatty family and make sure everyone knew their part. I didn't even know what I needed for the rehearsal, but Emily did! So we were fine.

We weren’t sure what to expect during Emily’s process, but she makes it very simple! Emily takes the time to interview you and your spouse to get to know you as individuals & experience your dynamic. She then follows the interview with a written questionnaire, featuring a section for each partner and a section to complete together. Every question is curated perfectly, helping you narrate the story of you & your future spouse. Emily was there each step of the way, answering any questions.

Ceremony of our Dreams!
I found Emily from Smitten State Weddings through my online searching sometime last year. We really wanted someone who would handle writing and executing a ceremony that we felt would fit our vibe. We wanted something fun, romantic, non-religious and special. Emily delivered that and more! She was happy to accommodate our crazy requests for things such as a mid-ceremony peppermint schnapps shot. Her energy and enthusiasm were felt not only by Steven and me, but all our guests. Emily performed amazingly and greatly exceeded my expectations of what an officiant could bring to me and my wife's wedding! Originally, we were planning on just having a friend get ordained to help us save some money but I am 100% certain, after working with Emily, that me and my wife would have been missing out on a really great ceremony (which is a pretty important part for a wedding)! Emily had a meeting with us and got to understand why we felt our bond was so special and used various personal stories and information that we provided to orchestrate a ceremony that would compliment the night. She let us in on the creation of the ceremony as well to make sure that we would not have any issues but (except for a few major ideas) we completely allowed Emily to create away! During the ceremony, Emily allowed for us to take our first steps into marriage with smiles on our faces and tears in our eyes, and our guests shared the same emotions.
Hands down, if I were to go back in time and redo my wedding, some food/decoration decisions would change, but I would certainly be bringing my business to Smitten State. -

Do yourselves a favor and book emily!
There is nothing I can say that will truly put into words what an amazing and beautiful job Emily did for our big day. Not only is she a great writer, speech maker, and officiant, she is also the best person we could ever have asked for to walk us through our I dos. She puts so much time, thought and effort into creating a ceremony that was unique and tailored to us. I can say with honesty that ALL of our guests commented on what a wonderful officiant we had and asked if she was an old friend because she so fully put "our story" into words as if she had watched the whole thing unfold. She was not an old friend but we are hoping we can call her that 10 years or so down the line. Honestly a true delight and I would not book ANYONE but her. I promise you will not regret it. -

Emily and I actually attended grad school together, where she gave phenomenal speeches and presentations. She's so thoughtful and clever and has such a way with spoken word. As soon as I got engaged, she was the one vendor I already knew I wanted.
As expected, Emily led us in a perfect ceremony. She also has a very easy, streamlined process. We met and discussed the ceremony early on. She sent us questionnaires to fill out in which we reflected on our relationship and shared key facts, feelings, and moments for her to utilize in the ceremony. She is so helpful, organized, and good at what she does that she even sent our marriage license in to the county on our behalf!
Emily is fantastic, and will help you have the beautiful (and at times funny!) ceremony of your dreams. -

Working with Emily has been a blast! We found Smitten State Weddings on Weddingwire a few months ago and reached out to them through email. Emily was very quick to respond and answered all of our questions promptly. My then-fiance and I had a Zoom meeting with her to discuss our plans and to see if we were a good fit, and we hit it off immediately! Emily was very funny, warm and joyful. She is professional but also fun to talk to. Being a young couple who didn't know much about weddings, she made us feel relaxed and helped answer all of our questions. We filled out a questionnaire and Emily wrote a beautiful ceremony celebrating the story of how we met. We just got married last week in a small and simple wedding, and everything went perfectly. We're very happy to have hired Emily to officiate our wedding. -

When we first spoke to Emily, we immediately clicked – she is extremely friendly, funny, and easy to talk to. After our initial meeting, she gave us a questionnaire asking about our relationship, our shared interests and hobbies, personal anecdotes, and what we love about each other. Shortly after we returned it, she sent us a draft of the wedding ceremony that we were able to review and request edits for. Her writing is beautiful, had personal touches, and was so lovely that we already started tearing up just reading the draft! During the rehearsal and ceremony, she was professional, organized, and made us feel like we were in excellent hands. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the ceremony was written and how great an officiant she is. Overall, we are so thrilled that we chose her and cannot recommend her enough. She is amazing! -

Emily was so amazing we laughed we cried and we laughed some more. Emily ensured that we were great and the response time and reassurance was amazing. Once our big day came she kept myself and family calm when my wife was having technical difficulties. She knew we wanted everything original and not rehearsed at all just what ever happened would happen. We winged our vows and Emily was all for it. The encouragement she gave us along the way to our big day was great. It helped ease the anxiety. I recommend her over any and everyone on this app. -

I worked close with Emily who provided me and my husband Patrick with a great ceremony. The ceremony featured jumping the broom, vows, laughs, and cries. However, what prompted all these great events during my wedding was the lovely and profoundly informative program Emily presented. The way she took our experiences and wrote them into our ceremony was beyond beautiful. You'll get no better experience and the price is really too low for the amount of time and quality she puts into the ceremony. Loved my experience and now she's going to be a honorary member of my family! -

Biz and Emmy were both wonderful! Our vows were beautifully written, original, and really captured our relationship-and we received many compliments from guests on our vows! On the day of our wedding Emmy was a fantastic officiant! Very well spoken, and such a warm personality!
