I hadn’t originally planned to hire a party planner for my son’s bar mitzvah, but came across reviews about Smiling through Chaos when I started to research bar mitzvah venues. After our first meeting with Amanda, I knew I wanted to work with her because I immediately went from feeling overwhelmed to excited about the planning process. Amanda truly displayed enthusiasm, responsiveness, and flexibility every step of the way. It’s rare to find a person who is so creative, organized, and genuine which is what makes Amanda excel as an event planner. When we walked into the event space on the bar mitzvah day, we were beyond impressed at how perfectly every detail came together. Many guests told us it was the best event they had ever attended. This review for Smiling Through Chaos is WAY overdue. Our wedding was almost a year ago, and we are still in awe of how absolutely incredible Amanda and her team were. Amanda was first referred to us by friends, and from the moment we first spoke with her, we knew why. She is amazing! So full of life, beautiful energy, and extremely detailed. Her communication and professionalism is unmatched! To be honest, as a couple we didn’t think we needed a planner. We thought we could handle it all on our own. Looking back now, we truly don’t know how we could have done it without Amanda and her team. She and Adria thought of EVERYTHING—literally every detail, from the biggest decisions to the tiniest touches we never would have considered. And on the day of our wedding, Adria was simply phenomenal. She was hands on, supportive, and didn’t miss a single beat! Together, Amanda and Adria made sure that every moment unfolded flawlessly, and they handled everything behind the scenes so we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. Not one! What Amanda and Adria gave us was the greatest gift: the ability to be fully present, stress-free, and truly enjoy every second of our wedding day. Endless creativity and energy
There are not enough words to say how incredible Smiling Through Chaos is. Amanda and her team captured our essence in every way for our December 2023 wedding. Her communications were consistent, timely and informative. She spent countless hours on Zoom calls with us to make sure all of our ideas and feedback were heard and actioned.
It is not often that you can ask someone to create something unique in the wedding industry and they truly deliver something incredible. However, Amanda took our quirkiness and humor to create everything from our save the dates to our gorgeous paper flower ceiling installation from scratch.

This was our second wedding. It was relatively small. We got this…until we didn’t. I can remember the day my wife called me telling me she felt overwhelmed as everyone was calling her and needing her time to figure out the smallest of details. Our Florist, who was a nanny for my kids years ago, strongly recommended Amanda for a month of planner. I was skeptical at first until I realized this was the best decision we could make to relieve the stress from our big day. She is a true professional who has so much energy, experience, knowledge, understanding of the business and tremendous interpersonal skills. She quickly gathered the details of our vendors and began to take the lead. She literally saved our day and made it look so effortless. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. Our day of schedule or “show flow” was detailed so everyone (vendors and us) knew exactly what was going on. I think we have already recommended her 2-3 times…and when your vendors tell you that was the best planner they’ve ever worked with….its a sign. To say she made us smile through Chaos…is a sever understatement. She is absolutely amazing. If you’re lucky enough to find her where she doesn’t have a wedding already booked, book her immediately. -

Amanda was the best decision we ever made before planning a party. I don’t even know where to start on how amazing Amanda is and was during our entire planning process and day of the party for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary.
From start to finish she was always on top of the planning and so organized. She went beyond any expectation we had and was very patient.
She gave us many options according to what we wanted and helped us find what we were looking for as far as photographer, floral, music and DJ and Entertainment (we had a hula dance show). She made my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary party a dream and we can even say perfect! It was such a flawless planning experience that was fun and effortless. All I can say is if you have the opportunity to work with Amanda and Smiling Through Chaos do it! -

We knew from the beginning that Amanda was the top of the line wedding planner. We actually regretted not hiring her for her full package, and advise all couples to just go for it if they want peace of mind. Amanda took over a month before and helped us through all the little crisis moments. We literally couldn't have done it without her, she was on top of it and incredibly thorough and organized. On the day of, everything came together and it was the most magical day of our lives. She was a pleasure to work with and can't recommend her enough!! -

Amanda and her team were an absolute pleasure to work with. Going into wedding planning my wife and I didn't think we needed a wedding planner as we are quite organized and type A personalities however about 2 months before the wedding we decided it would be useful to have some extra help. Short story is I am soooooo glad we did because I do not think my wife and I would have been as relaxed and zen come the big day. Amanda paid very close attention to our needs really helped us figure out some of the smaller items we had yet to plan leading up to the day. We had multiple phone calls and emails to discuss everything from the agenda for the day of to table-card placements and Amanda made herself very accessible to us (which in the wedding world is not very common). Amanda made us a super detailed oriented spreadsheet (down to the minute!) detailing how the day would go. She helped us create a list of all the items we needed to remember to bring and while these things might seem minor they are super important because the last few weeks leading up to the wedding were quite hectic and stressful and having these items checked off was one less thing for my wife and I to stress about. Smiling Through Chaos allowed us to enjoy our big day to the fullest. Amanda also helped to review all of our contracts and communicated with our vendors to make sure everybody was on the same page in terms of deliverables and timing.
I cant thank her and her staff enough for enabling us to have the best day ever. I truly do not think we could have planned such a great event without her help.

Amanda helped me realize my vision for my wedding and I cannot recommend her enough! She gave great suggestions and ideas for parts of planning I was unsure of, meanwhile supporting my decisions and wishes for aspects that I wanted to be included. She assisted both the wedding party and vendors stick to the timeline. Any time anyone had questions, we went to Amanda. There will never be enough words to describe how amazing Amanda and Smiling Through Chaos are. We worked with Amanda for almost two years planning our wedding. During that time she was not only or wedding planner, but our cheerleader, therapist, advocate, and friend. While I know she has tons of brides and events, she always made me feel like I was the only one, giving me her full attention. She goes above and beyond in all aspects of planning. She is accessible and available to you. I’m not sure she ever sleeps! Amanda gave us access to vendors we would have never found, who all executed our vision perfectly. She is so well respected in the wedding vendor community and was able to get us discounts and negotiate pricing and contracts for us. Within the first week she saves us over 7k. Amazing! We completely trusted her creative process, and the results were STUNNING. There was never a moment where I felt stressed or that Amanda didn’t have things handled. She allowed us to truly enjoy the process and our wedding day. Thanks to her we were able to be in the moment and not worrying about the behind the scenes stuff. Amanda is incredibly hard working, detail oriented, and organized. We had so many people who told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and that was all thanks to Amanda! Wedding planning is a full time job, don’t let yourself do it alone! Finding Amanda was the best thing that could have happened to us and I could not recommend her more!!! -

Truly Amazing!
Amanda was honestly the best decision I made while wedding planning. Her month of coordination was above and beyond what I expected. From going over details I didn't even think of to her day of attentiveness Amanda was truly incredible. Wedding planning is stressful and the day of even more but Amanda made it so I didn't even have to think about being stressed. Best Planner ever!
Amanda was such an amazing planner! She took all of the stress out of planning, especially in a pandemic, and made it the most amazing day! Pandemic Wedding Bliss
I found Smiling Through Chaos online shortly after getting engaged last September, my fiance and I wanted a wedding within a year in the summer, Amanda met with us and immediately got to work. We both have busy stressful jobs so we knew we'd need support if this was going to happen in a "short" timeframe. Amanda was literally a godsend for us! She was with us from a week after getting engaged through our rescheduled date this Sept. She helped us plan a June wedding and then was amazing helping us reschedule to a September wedding. We are a pandemic couple who literally went through everything you could imagine and more during this wedding planning and Amanda was always a light to talk to and a person in our corner. She becomes your confidant and your cheerleader and allows you to be who you are but brings the light to remind you it's always around the corner for when you're ready to see it. We wound up having a beautiful day with our friends and family who were comfortable celebrating with us and now everything else is history and doesn't matter anymore, but we would never have gotten here or enjoyed our day without Amanda's help, support, guidance, and love. I am beyond excited to see how much my body has changed after having two beautiful boys over the last two years. I lost almost 30 pounds in 6 months!! After her program, I am still continuing to lose weight. I lost so far all together almost 40 pounds. For the most part, everyone knows I am a vegetarian but even so I still had much to learn about eating the right foods in order to have a healthy lifestyle. Also, you can't forget to throw some exercises there too! I reached out to Amanda from Smiling Through Chaos to help me to achieve my goals. She is absolutely great to work with. She has an amazingly positive attitude and she is right there with you making sure you don't give up. She listens to you and what you want. That is huge! Amanda is a pro and exceeded all my expectations
I wasn’t planning to hire a wedding planner but organizing a NJ wedding from Denver (with the bride and groom living in England) was getting increasingly complicated as the day drew near. I had hired all our vendors but I became overwhelmed by all of the minutiae required for a successful wedding day.. When I spoke with Amanda initially, it became clear right away that she was going to be an outstanding person to work with. She told me that she would handle all conversations with the vendors, and I panicked as I wasn’t sure I could let her assume all responsibility. She quickly proved herself beyond capable and I began to relax and realize that I had found a gem 💎. She’s smart, easy to work with, and has a positive, can-do personality! We worked mostly through four way emails, with the MOB, bride, groom and her, to make decisions.
I am so thankful that I hired Amanda as I was able to completely enjoy the wedding day with no worries. But, I also had someone with a lot of experience working with me the month before, helping me source placecards and menus, preparing the goodie bags, bringing the wedding dress to be steamed, coordinating the transportation to and from the venue, and the list goes on. Dealing with all these details was fun, with Amanda! She is an outstanding person, and well worth the expense. -
