We absolutely LOVED working with the SLOtography team for our wedding day! Blake and Robin were both wonderful and we had such a good time shooting with them throughout the day. They did a fantastic job of making us feel comfortable and at ease, and were great at directing us for all the posed shots (the ones we were notably most nervous for!) Blake even managed to wrangle together some huge family photos outside the venue, which we are super grateful for. Cannot recommend working with them more highly!

Magical Wedding Experience with SLOtography!
This thank you is a long time coming, however Blake was absolutely INCREDIBLE during our wedding week and engagement shoot! Blake has such a knack for making everyone feel at ease and capturing the most special moments of our most special day.
Especially with intimate moments, it is extremely difficult to feel comfortable with a camera pointed directly at you. From the second we met Blake, all our nerves and anxiety washed away as he helped us seamlessly sink into the scenery. The best way to describe Blake is being ever present with his calm demeanor, but completely invisible when capturing our most raw, genuine moments. That balance of energy and fluidity is hard to come by!
His ability to naturally blend in with the festivities, fully embrace our culture, and be everywhere at all times made sure we’ll be able to relive our cherished memories for a lifetime. Amazing experience at our Paso Robles wedding October 2023
We recently hired SLOtography as our photographer and videographer at our wedding in Paso Robles. I cannot recommend these folks enough. Their communication and professionalism was great, they truly listened to what we wanted and the pictures and video turned out amazing. Taking pictures at a wedding can be long and tedious but we did not feel that on our wedding day. They are true professionals. We received the pictures and video within three weeks of the wedding and they look AMAZING! Thank you SLOtography!

Great Team!
Blake and Robin from SLOtography were an absolute pleasure to work with! Although we had our wedding in 2020, we never got the chance to properly celebrate with close family and friends until late this summer. We settled on having an intimate event in Paso Robles, CA and needed to find a photographer and videographer team who could help capture moments from our belated celebratory event.
In came Blake and Robin - who were incredibly helpful from our very first conversations. They suggested ideas that we hadn’t even thought of (e.g.,. incorporating iPhone footage from our 2020 pandemic wedding into a highlight reel from our event) and were very diligent in making sure we provided them a storyboard of what specific photos / moments we wanted to capture so that nothing was missed.
On the evening of the event, both were great in communicating and helping coordinate the posed shots we wanted in addition to grabbing candid shots throughout. They also facilitated a special sunset photoshoot which turned out amazing!
Post the event, the service didn’t end - Blake and Robin reached out within a few days with some sample shots and questions regarding music we wanted for our highlight film. The turnaround time to receive final versions of both were very quick and we (and our family / friends) couldn’t be happier the end results!
If you’re looking for a team to provide a great overall end-to-end experience, SLOtography is the way to go!

Blake and Dustin Were Awesome!
My wife and I found Blake and Dustin of SLOtography a little over two years ago after we decided to get married in SLO. Working with both of them was an absolute pleasure. Blake was incredibly friendly and responsive. He was extremely friendly and outgoing when we did our engagement photos with him which made it feel less awkward and relaxing. Sadly do you Covid we had to postpone and rebook our wedding twice. Thankfully Blake and Dustin were as flexible as they could be and we ended up on a date that worked for all of our vendors. If I could I would post all the photos from our wedding day and shoot to show how great of a job they and their assistants did. Price wise I thought they were incredibly reasonable given the quality of our photos and the amount of time we booked them for. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a photographer or videographer in the SLO area.

Amazing photography - highly recommend!
We hired James through SLOtography for our wedding day photos and could not have been more thrilled with how everything turned out! James was wonderful on the day, both in capturing all the moments and the overall feel, and in helping wrangle us to always be exactly where we needed to be to capture everything we planned to capture (including the amazing sunset photos!).
You can see that James loves what he does and takes an immense amount of pride, both in his craft and in making sure his clients are beyond happy. Photos were turned around super fast! James was an absolute dream to work with and he bent over backwards accommodating us with edits and re-edits until we found the exact aesthetic that we liked for every photo. His skill, demeanor and drive to go above and beyond to ensure we were happy with absolutely every step of the process was unparalleled. I cannot recommend him and his work highly enough.

Best photographer!
Hire Blake! We were so impressed by Blake and his second photographer, Becky. Blake was friendly and responsive leading up to the wedding and had different suggestions for things we hadn't thought of. He was also flexible and accommodating with pricing when we explained our budget. Blake was early to arrive, patient, and clearly knew the timeline and where he and Becky were supposed to be at all times. He was professional when posing everyone, noticed small details to help the photos look better, and was quick during family photos so we didn't have to stand around forever. Becky was also so friendly and helpful with dress fluffing and small aesthetic details. The day after the wedding, Blake sent over 25 sneak peek photos, which seemed like a lot to me and we loved so much! They looked absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to see the rest. Dustin was the best!
Dustin at Slotography was recommended to us by our photographer, and we are so happy we booked with him. We were on the fence about videography, and are so happy we went with it. We have watched our video on repeat, and are obsessed with the raw footage and both videos. Dustin was amazing. He made our wedding video fun, and also romantic and sentimental. He showed our personalities and vibe of our wedding so well. He also made sure he didn't disrupt the day, by capturing video naturally and in the background. We cannot recommend him enough!

Amazing Wedding Photos...and Go To for Our Expanding Family
James, Dustin, and Dylan of SLOtography were a great team for capturing our wedding. We first met James for our engagement photo shoot several months before. He was very professional and flexible, accommodating two locations and our puppy as well. He was quick to process the photos, much faster than we anticipated.
We met the rest of the team on our wedding day with them putting in a long day, including a very long church ceremony. James captured amazing photos Marisol (bride) getting ready, her dress, and bridesmaids. Dylan took photos of AJ (groom) and his guys getting ready, and he also captured the tender moment when he first saw the bride when everyone else was focused on her. Dustin did a great job with the video recording of the ceremony and reception. He put together a great highlight video (~5 minutes) that we could share with family and friends. Upon a special request, he also took the time to put together an hour long video just for us. James was there with us for almost 12 hours, until we left at the end of the night
The entire SLOtography team was great to work with and worth every penny to capture the moments of our big day. So many family and friends felt the team captured the moments and atmosphere that slipped by us as the bride and groom. We really enjoying working with James and the SLOtography team. Our family is growing and would definitely make the drive from LA to SLO to have James take our family photos.

Dream day in Big Sur!
Dustin Wise was our videographer for our magical wedding at Ragged Point Inn in Big Sur and he did an incredible job. From capturing the etherial mood of the venue to epic dance moves to the immeasurable happiness of the day - Dustin got it all and put together some truly stunning videos for us.
Couldn't have asked for a better, more talented person to capture not just the day but the overall feel and mood of it. We look forward to rewatching those videos for years to come!

We hired Blake and Zach for our wedding and they were so amazing, I cannot tell you how many people in our family and wedding party said "your photographer and videographer were so attentive and engaged they were amazing!" Some of the photos Blake sent us were unreal! We are so incredibly happy that we will get to have these forever and anyone who is getting married in Central California should use this company. He has a good heart, might be too deep for a vendor review but you can just tell. They made our day great and we have pictures to prove it!

My husband and I were so stressed about finding a videographer until we found SLOtography! They were very easy to talk to and very good at responding to all of our questions! They welcome feedback and do their best to accommodate your vision. For example, we were hellbent on picking our music and SLOtography had no problem with this. Their drone work was also super impressive and they worked great with our photographer.

We hired Dustin Wise to be our videographer for our Nov 18th, 2017 wedding. This review is VERY long overdue... but it is with an incredibly full heart that I write the below. Dustin is just flat out, the MAN YOU WANT FOR THE JOB. He was extremely calm (which can be tough with a crazy family lol), creative and wildly passionate about his craft. Example, our wedding song was copyrighted and could not be uploaded to Instagram for my 45 second sneak peak clip. So, he played our song HIMSELF on the Ukulele and then uploaded it as our background music. You get the "extra mile" when it comes to Dustin. We still watch our video once every few weeks because it just makes me beam. No detail or moment was left out of our special day. He thought of everything and even included drone footage that I didn't even realize was happening. He's a wonderful man with an incredible vision for your special day. He's the one you want, ladies! We could not have been happier working with James from SLOtography. We had him do both our engagement photos and our wedding photos. We were looking for very different things with both sessions, and he delivered way above our expectations for both. These were some of the most important moments in our lives and I don’t think anyone else could have captured them better. Beyond being an incredibly talented photographer — he has a lot of fun playing around with some more experimental techniques and his outdoor shots are stunning — he might be the nicest guy we’ve ever met. During our wedding he had a huge smile the entire time that was clearly infectious as it caused all of our guests to be smiling for photos as well. James was super flexible and ended up staying a little longer than we had originally planned in order to capture some photographs a little later in the night that he was really excited about. You should definitely work with James Lester and SLOtography.

Over the last two years, Blake has photographed engagement shoots, rehearsals, and weddings for both my husband and I and my brother and sister-in-law. After having SLOtography shoot our family events on 6 different days, we can certainly say we know his work and that it's completely awesome! Not only was he able to capture every moment imaginable (we had multiple guests comment on how he didn't miss a single detail, which is so true!), but every moment was captured beautifully. It is obvious that Blake goes above and beyond to carefully edit his images making each a work of art. We are SO thankful we found him and will certainly have him capture any future family events!

Blake is the best choice you can make when booking a vendor. He was very easy to communicate with during the entire wedding planning process. He also arrived to the venue on time and immediately started taking pictures. He captured the little details that my mom spent hours making like our center pieces, the candy table and chair decorations. He captured the venue and the scenery, to include the seagulls, ocean, and sunset. He also suggested for us to break away for a little bit to run down to the beach for a small photography session with my husband. We decided to go while our guests were dancing and it was best decision because we got a whole different set of romantic photos of my husband lifting me in the air, walking on the beach and laughing. I think the best part about Blake was that he was very knowledgable of San Luis Obispo and he was easy to work with. My husband and I are a couple of odd balls and there wasn't an awkward moment. Lastly, he worked very quickly on delivering the final product. I received an email with over 500 finished photos before my honeymoon ended (1 week after the wedding!!!) very pleased with Blake and you will be too!!!

We weren't originally going to get a videographer, but were so pleased with Dustin at SLOtography! He was quick, very responsive and his work was absolutely amazing. We got married over looking a vineyard and Dustin used a drone to capture the entire ceremony/reception area. It was so cool and looked like a professional film! We love how we can relive our wedding day everyday with our video. Getting a videographer was the best decision we made for our wedding!

We had Blake take our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos! Really happy we decided to do engagement pictures with him first- we felt so much more comfortable with him afterwards since neither of us really love being in front of a camera. Blake was friendly, easy and fun to work with - from being flexible with scheduling, to making the staff feel comfortable in front of the camera, to getting us the finished product quickly and in perfect condition to add to my husband's lawfirm's new website. Blake is amazing! One of the best SLO has to offer! I have already referred him to two of my friends and will probably refer more! He is so accommodating and flexible. He responds to emails quickly and efficiently and really tries his best to honor all requests. You really can't beat the price for the quality of work that he does. Our engagement and wedding photos turned out beautiful and we had so many options to choose from. On our wedding day, he even stayed an extra hour to get some great shots. We were so impressed! The only recommendation I have is to be assertive with the shots and locations that you want. Blake is very easy-going and he does well with suggestions so don't hold back in telling him what your vision is. For ladies, I would also suggest bringing a girlfriend along for the photos. All of our vendors were men so it would have been nice to have another girl there to tell me when I needed to adjust my clothing, brush my hair, reapply make-up, etc. The guys didn't always pick up on small details like that :).

I can not say enough great things about Blake! We won his free wedding photography give away last year and we couldn't have asked for a greater gift. Having basically grown up with Blake, when my husband and I got engaged, we knew right away we wanted him to be in charge of capturing our wedding day. Blake is so talented and he blew us away with the many amazing photos he took that day. He is so laid back and flexible and went along with what we wanted and what he knew we would like. He is a fabulous person and fabulous at what he does!
When we were considering video, we knew we had to have it, and decided to keep it in the SLOtography family and boy are we glad we did! Dustin is another amazing talent and took some awesome video of our day. Blake was wonderful. I engaged him to do a family photo session for our birthdays. Before the shoot, he was organized, responsive, easy to talk to and coordinate with, and made the entire payment process simple. On the day of the shoot, he was professional and had a great sense of humor, which made things easier as we had our hands full with a very upset baby. He delivered the pictures very shortly afterward, and we were blown away! We couldn't believe what he had captured. They are truly memories we'll cherish for a lifetime. Overall, we had a fantastic experience; he earned my highest rating.

Blake is the best wedding photographer on the Central Coast. We only had 21 guests, all immediate family, and were highly selective on the vendors we chose to have there. On the day of, he was calm, funny, and connected with everyone from parents to small children. His presence at such an intimate gathering was not only seamless and organic, but a lovely addition to our family. I can't recommend Blake enough, who through this experience has become a good friend. He came recommended to us from multiple sources and I, myself, can't recommend him enough. Also, the photos: WOW. I can't even being to describe how fantastic the photos turned out-- luminous, unique framing, creative choreography, and personalized to our wedding and relationship. Everybody on both sides of the wedding praised what a great photographer we hired. The photos captured the moment better than I ever could imagine, and he delivered them fully edited quickly and painlessly. Blake is truly fantastic.

There was no question that Blake's photos of our friend's wedding would be gorgeous, but since it was a very small, elopement-type wedding, with only 11 people in attendance, the bride was concerned about a photographer feeling intrusive. Blake was extremely sensitive to this concern and was very respectful of the bride and groom's intimate setting. It was a perfect day, and the Mr and Mrs are so glad to have welcomed Blake in to record it all.

Blake created our family photos in a fall photo shoot that took place in Avila, at the Bob Jones Trail and the Beach. He is wonderful to work with, flexible, non-intrusive, thoughtful and the results are some very sweet, touching family candids. My husband and I highly recommend using Slotography to capture your wedding day!! Blake Andrews and his assistant were efficient, kind, professional, non-intrusive, and took hundreds of beautiful and artistic photos. Blake also did our engagement shoot. We drove around to our favorite places in San Luis Obispo and we had tons of great photos to share on our wedding web-site and invitations. In addition, Blake shot our rehearsal dinner and toured the venue to take photos in order to become familiar with the optimal photo spots and lighting for our wedding the next day. Blake made us feel comfortable taking photos, helped us plan our shots, and always responded to e-mails throughout the wedding planning process as questions arose. He took his time to look through our photos with me after the wedding and experimented with various effects if I wanted to see a photo with a different filter. He posted an amazing blog with links that I could easily share with friends and family. We also received all of the originals so that we have the ability to print photos when and wherever we want. Slotography is a great value for the quality of service and product. I researched a long time for an affordable and artistic photographer to capture our day, and I would highly recommend using Blake Andrews to capture your engagement and wedding day!! We are even planning to use Slotography for family photos in the future :)

We set up a family photo session with Blake for my son's 2 year Birthday. I loved his portfolio and knew immediately he should be the one to shoot this special occasion. I told him I had pinned some ideas on pinterest and he told me to email him to add him to the board so he could view them...what a great idea!
From the beginning he was easy to work with - the date and times were flexible and he emailed us back right away. We sent in a $100 deposit (check or paypal) and we were set. He emailed us to confirm on the day of the shoot.
He directed us appropriately throughout the shoot which is a big factor for me. Sometimes you feel awkward when you're having your photo taken and you're not sure if you are looking like a blob or posing in a flattering manner. To me, you want a lot of direction from the photographer as to what looks best.
Although many of the ideas I had on pinterest did not get shot, the pictures were incredible and I'll be calling Blake back for our next photo session!

Blake is absolutely amazing! My now husband and I are from the Central Valley, but we were getting married at La Cuesta Ranch in SLO. We had a budget in mind but many photographers in the SLO area are high priced. Blake is has very reasonable prices for the quality of work he puts out. He's very professional, but personable as well. He gets the job done, but has a great time with you too. Our engagement photos and wedding photos turned out perfect! He's creative with his work and the clarity is amazing. He's a perfectionist at was he does and is constantly improving with his work. You can tell photography is his passion and this was his calling. My husband and I recommend Blake to anyone who's looking for a photographer. We are extremely lucky to have chosen Blake as a photographer and in the end we also have a new friend.

Where do I even begin to describe how amazing Blake is? My husband and I hired Blake for both our engagement pictures and wedding. First, his shots are incredible! I have never enjoyed pictures as much as Blake's work. Second, he is a DEAR to work with. He is supportive and incredibly helpful. The SLOtography guys are super helpful, accommodating and kind with their photos. Their quality is wonderful in that they can capture intimate as well as crazy, even chaotic times.
