  Almost My Wedding Planner

  I felt so lost when I started planning my wedding. In retrospect, I realize that I should have hired a wedding planner. But my coordinator, Kayla with Simply Southern gave me so much insight since I didn't have a wedding planner. If it weren't for her, I would have not known the reason that cocktail even existed (don't laugh at me), I would have not gotten a box for the top of my cake, I would have placed the tables and chairs in a horrible fashion for traffic flow, I would have forgotten to purchase a special cake and knife cutter. Honestly, the list goes on and on. I don't know if Chef Ken attends all menu tastings, but he is amazing. The food was amazing, the decoration was amazing. I can't thank you all enough for helping to make my wedding exactly what I wanted.

  Such a blessing

  Although I have not had my wedding yet, I felt lead to leave this review now. Planning a wedding has been one of the most stressful things I've ever done. I've already booked them, but I called Simply Southern with a few questions and they ALWAYS seem so happy to help. I sometimes feel embarrassed for asking some of my questions but they are always so understanding and even tell me why my questions aren't stupid. So the reason why I'm writing this is because I broke down crying over family stress with planning my wedding. I was so embarrassed. My catering coordinator helped me SO much. She calmed me down and let me know I'm not alone in these experiences. She even offered to pray with me which I gladly accepted. I hope I don't get anyone in trouble sharing that, but I can say that Simply Southern Catering isn't your normal company. Some companies are obviously all about the money. They operate differently. Tough to explain. They weren't the cheapest quote I received, but I'm getting SO much more. Oh, and the food and service at the menu tasting was hands down the best from all the others.

  I couldn't wait

  My experience was fantastic from beginning to end. Chef Ken worked my event and he's a WONDERFUL character and worked the room checking on my guests. I mainly worked with Kayla during the planning process. Just listen to her, she knows what she's doing. My wedding planner expressed that Kayla and Chef Ken were some of the best that she's worked with. I had a huge wedding with a lot of moving parts. They handled it with care. I even saw the staff helping my grandfather who is in a wheelchair dance on the dance floor! What catering company does that? 10's all around!

  Just Amazing

  From the very beginning, Kayla was warm, kind and informative. My planner said that the entire team was amazing. I was told that the catering team helped my planner whenever she needed an extra hand during the wedding.
  
  I didn't taste the cocktail hour food, but people are still talking about all of the food a month later. The wedding was a blur... but the few things I remember was the process to get things set up (A+). Communication (A+). The food (A++). Oh, and the menu tasting far exceeded any other experience I had at any other menu tasting (A+++). I am totally please and plan to use them again in the future. Will be recommending.

  Wonderful Food and Service

  I went with Simply Southern for wedding planning when I wasn't please with my old wedding planner. I think she took on more than she could chew. After going to Simply Southern, I basically handed over all my problems and they took care of them. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Everything was wonderful. The service, communication and food! They recommended fantastic vendors for everything else. They even reviewed our budget and saw found places where we could save. This team helped me realize my wedding dream. I am a nature and animal lover, and they made recommendations for me to incorporate my hundred of dogs and cats into the experience. Thank you Simply Southern!

  Rare service and quality.

  Found this amazing team on Hernando Happenings. They are buying the restaurant where Junior's used to be. Since I loved Junior's, I tried them a few times for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and one or two other times. They are just the sweetest. I went to an event at the Landers Center where I got to meet the Chef. He's just the nicest guy ever. So full of energy and seemed to be really passionate about what he does. He took time to break down what it was I was eating. The more he talked, and the more I learned the quality of product and time that was invested, I swear the food started tasting even better. The macaroni and cheese was simply amazing. I think they are known for their several mac and cheeses. I can't wait until their restaurant open and they are officially my go-to catering company when I need one.

  So Far So Great!

  I actually found Shift Catering Company on TheKnot.com, but I ran across them here, so I decided to leave another review. They really are a great team! So far so great! I must say that the reviews aren't lying. I'm impressed enough with the service I've received so far that I'm leaving a review already. I paid my deposit a few months ago and I love how they send me these countdown emails to my wedding. It's sort of comforting because it let's me know they didn't just take my deposit money and forgot about me. They are actually thinking about me. I can't wait until my wedding. It's like a rustic cowboy theme wedding. I can't wait. They have mason jar glasses and everything! Only place I found that had those type of details.

  They made me feel like a celebrity

  When I called I didn't know that Shift Catering was located 2 hours away. But after speaking with Kayla, I really had a good feeling about them and decided to move forward with them anyway. They did my wedding tasting and honey... they treated us like celebrities. They also helped us with our wedding rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception. Sweetie, let me tell you... these folks are the real deal. I imagined that rich people or celebrities get the service and treatment like we got.
  When I asked Kayla why they do what they do, the answer was perfect for me. She said the owner is a strong believer in keeping God and love as the base for everything. The employees all seemed really happy. Thank you Shift Catering. If ya'll are thinking about using them just do it. You won't regret it.

  Got More Than I Paid For

  I can't say enough about Shift. They were the ONLY caterer I worked with that 1. answered the phone, 2. called me back, 3. ACTUALLY COMMUNICATED. I paid for a full service package where they provided a server, food attendant and one other person. I'm not sure if I should be sharing this or not, but I wanted a carving station but had already met my budget. At my wedding, I HAD A CARVING STATION!! Their decorations were so beautiful! For the price, I expected to be fair simple. NO! They had fancy trays at different heights. Beautiful flowers, and other decorations that coordinated with my wedding colors. While I was on my honeymoon, I actually had the event space to contact me regarding everything not being cleaned up in the ceremony space. I asked about the reception area, they said it was cleaned impeccably! They were the only thing in my wedding that I didn't have to worry about. I honestly couldn't have asked form anything better. My bestie is getting married next year. I am strongly encouraging her to use Shift Catering. Love you guys!

Apparently, most of them don't need business because they either don't answer the phone or take days and weeks to respond. When I called Shift, THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE! No one does that these days! Not only that, I had some specialty items I wanted to request because some of his family were coming in from India. Kayla included Chef Ken on our call and we were able to discuss specialty dishes that he could make for my wedding. When I wanted changes, I was able to call, email or even text. In a world where customer service has dwindled, Shift is a ray of sunshine. You guys ROCK!
