Highly recommend this vendor

I interviewed several catering vendors for our wedding (over 10) and am extremely happy I selected Huntington. I can't say enough about their service and flexibility and I thought their overall pricing was very fair. Both Justin and Venessa were terrific to work with and they were very responsive and professional. We did a few tastings prior to our wedding and they were very flexible on the dates and times and accommodating of our requests for our vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free guests. Justin listened carefully to our needs and took good notes and they delivered on all our requests. We asked them to provide the cake and at the tasting, we selected 3 flavors to taste and they provided 6. This was one example of them going above and beyond. Justin previewed the site prior to the event (it was a backyard wedding at a private residence) and drew a diagram so everything was scoped out prior to the event. The day of wedding, they showed up on time with their crew and all the food tuned out awesome. Their service staff was very professional and did a great job of taking care of our guests. They were a big part of making our wedding day so special. I would highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

They're amazing! Book them now!

Huntington Catering is THE BEST! I've been using them for years (family functions, memorials, parties, etc, most recently my wedding. I had a whopping 250+ guests and they handled everything from start to finish. I had them cater the tray passed apps, 3 bars, buffet for dinner, dessert station and then fresh pizza to offer to guests on their way out. The staff are exceptionally professional, but never stuffy, they're extremely hospitable and friendly. Huntington's pricing is not only competitive, but when you hire them, you see that they're cheap for how amazing the full package turns out. Highly recommend them! You won't regret it.

What can I sayyyyyy. They're great!!

Huntington Catering Company was a preferred vendor for my venue, Millwick. I CAN SEE WHY. Hiring them was a packaged deal! Our venue raved about their service staff, and the fact that they provide rentals and bar staff, it was a no brainer for us. Plus, duh the food was great as well! We got to have two tastings, which I thought was great.

And just rentals again! I just thought that was awesome. I didn't have to search for other rental places, which saved me so much emailing and researching and signing of more contracts. We rented everything from extra tables, chairs, bar tables, linens, dinner ware, serving dishes, barware, heat lamps, just everything.

Justin and Vanessa were great to work with! I had SO MANY EMAILS! But they handled them all! Communication with them was awesome. We even requested late night snacks and wanted dirty dogs. They came thru with that!

Then the big day. The wedding. They were so awesome. I didn't give much direction on how we wanted place settings and napkins to go, but they made it look great. Everything looked so great. Service staff at dinner was awesome. I only had a few tray passed apps since I couldn't be there much for cocktail hour due to picture taking, but those tasted so good as well.

And the bar staff. YES. THEY WERE SO AWESOME. Our guests loved them. Whoever the french-candian dude was, my friends and family couldn't stop raving about you. And the guy at the inside bar, whoever you were, THANK YOU for putting up with my friends inside. My friends and family are pretty crazy. I only spoke to him for a bit, but he was real nice. Everyone was! Hope he enjoyed the strip show that happened.

Everyone loved the food as well! We had family style dinner, and everyone said it was more than enough.

The week of the wedding, they allowed us to drop off all our alcohol at their offices. YAS. And we got to pick up leftovers the next day with no problem.

We loved working with Mike!! He is one of the nicest guys! And his food is delicious!! We went with Argentina Style Flank Steak served with chimichurri sauce and Cilantro Lime Chicken for our 130 guests. Mike also had a kids menu for the kiddos at our wedding -- chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. Our guests were so complimentary of our selections and as I walked around taking photos, I noticed that a few extra vegetarian plates had also been served to guests who I didn't realize were vegetarians. Mike -- as always -- had planned ahead and was ready for anything. I highly recommend Mike and Simply Elegant Catering.

They handled our over 200 guest count like it was nothing. We wanted family style service, which they accommodated easily, and served more than enough food to fill everyone up. Justin, Barbara and their whole team were awesome from start to finish! Not only were they so pleasant to work with, but the food was great! Admittedly, we weren't the "easiest" clients as we had special requests, but they were so accommodating. After our tasting, we had some adjustments (e.g., less sauce, more crispy, things like that) and they executed those perfectly on the day of the wedding. Service on the day of the wedding was also fantastic. There was at least one dedicated server making sure that me and my husband were being taken care of. At one point before the ceremony and when the guests arrived, it was pretty hot outside and literally as I was just thinking I could use some water, Justin walks up with a tray of water asking if our wedding party needed any. You will not regret hiring them.

Mike and his team did an incredible job with the catering for our wedding. He was easy to work with and quickly incorporated our requests / changes following our tasting.

We had loved our tasting but we're curious to see how it might be different for 165 guests: Our guests raved about the food, and we definitely had some tough customers. Our guests loved how moist the salmon was, the variety of the appetizers and the great sauces for the tri tip. Mike was able to provide the food In a family style format which we really wanted and turned out great.

Mike was wonderful to work with and definitely surpassed our expectations.

SO wonderful working with HC -- Shannon and Justin were helpful at every step of the way, easy to reach by phone and email, and really delivered the day of. They were super flexible with our tastes and food preferences (hello churros!) and were able to adapt the reception menu to our budget. Waitstaff were professional and EVERYWHERE so that nobody went hungry or thirsty.

The food was delicious.. altho truthfully I was too busy at the wedding to enjoy much of it :/ All of our guests raved about their chicken and waffle appetizers and their mushroom ravioli.

FYI they offer full service rental eg you can get chairs, tables, linens, etc etc along with your meal and bar service. This was very convenient one-stop shopping!

Wow! Mike and his team at Simply Elegant Catering did an amazing job with our wedding. From the begging of the planning process to the end, Mike was able to handle any and everything when it came to catering our wedding. He worked with us to create a menu and food options we desired for our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner, giving us several options as well as giving us suggestions and the option of creating special dishes. Our venue was a blank slate and he was able to handle everything when it came to renting all the chairs, tables glassware and everything else needed for our ceremony and reception of over 120 guests. He was professional as well as personable throughout the whole process and was a text message away when we had any questions. After two weeks we are still receiving great reviews from our guests on the quality of food and the professionalism of his team. I would recommend Simply Elegant Catering to anyone and will be contacting them in the future for any catering needs. Thank you Mike and your team for making our wedding such a special day!

I could not have asked for a better caterer. Justin and team were cool from the start and super flexible, and nothing was ever a big deal, on top of that, the food was so good and the staff and service were on top of it. Three Cheers for Huntington Catering Company!

Simply Elegant Catering was one of the first vendors we signed, because we were totally blown away by their food. Mike, the owner, worked with us to give us whatever we wanted -- lamb kebab instead of chops? No problem. Caprese on a stick? You got it. At one point, my fiancé admitted that yes, he was looking forward to the wedding, but also to the reception appetizers!

Mike was very responsive and helpful, going above and beyond to give us a place to store our alcohol ahead of time, and providing "props" for our reception free of charge. He was always welcoming and enthusiastic, making us feel like he was excited to be a part of our wedding. We never felt like we were just "a job."

Mike's servers were friendly and professional, and the food they delivered the day of the wedding was just as good as what we'd experienced in our tasting many months before. We got a ton of compliments on the food from the guests, and the special cookies and milk shooters he provided were a wonderful end to the night. Seriously -- the cookies? Mike provides them when you come to meet with him. I think I may have scheduled more meetings than actually necessary to get more of those cookies.

We were so impressed with Mike's cooking that we also booked his storefront venue for our rehearsal dinner. Again, Simply Elegant did a great job of catering and keeping our party happy.

I heartily recommend Simply Elegant for your wedding, but make sure you sit down and eat that dinner on your special day, or else you'll just have to hear your family raving about it months after the fact without getting to enjoy it yourself!

My wife and I received rave reviews about the food that Huntington catered for our reception. Even the carnivores liked the all vegetarian fare. Huntington was open to working on a vegetarian menu and provided nice options for the appetizers and entree. They were able to give us two tastings and were accommodating with their decor and our requests for certain beverages and glassware. A couple of things we would have done differently and this is more on our end and probably not Huntington (but maybe Huntington can talk to the couple about in the future): Our reception was in a friend's lovely backyard and we asked our family to come about 45 minutes early for pictures around 5:15. We had the beverages starting at 6pm. We didn't think to have the iced tea, water and lemonade available for the the early guests (family) while they were waiting around. Also, I would have asked the caterers to make my wife and I a plate of all the appetizers and set it at our table. They were passed trays and we weren't able to partake on most of it (probably 2 out of 6 apps). Huntington made us plates from the buffet, which was great but having the apps would be great.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this caterer. Great communication via email and phone. We felt a great vibe and energy from them from the beginning. (note reception was on 7/26, about a week and a half after wedding)

Simply Elegant is the best option available for catering your wedding. They are SO flexible, SO nice, and SO helpful. From the moment I first met Mike Faulkner, I knew I wanted him as my caterer. He was very friendly, and obviously cared about giving me the service that I was looking for. He didn't try and sell himself, he simply did everything possible to give me what I imagined for my wedding reception. Then I tried the food, and it was over-the-top, incredible! We had the most pleasant experience using Mike Faulkner and his company, Simply Elegant Catering. The food was delicious and he provided an abundance of all selections for each guest. From the delicious salad to the tender tri-tips and flavorful salmon and sides, everything was perfect. The wait staff was very friendly and did all they could to respond to any and all requests. They never acted imposed upon, but always quickly and positively responded to every request. They charged very reasonable prices for everything and were flexible to offer any alternative that might help contain costs. I cannot imagine having a better caterer to work with or to take care of a special event.

All in all, the staff did a great job. I received many many many compliments on the food and the servers were very attentive in serving the appetizers and keeping the tables stocked with water. The family style serving also received a lot of compliments. The staff also did an amazing job with the clean-up in the short amount of time they had and everything was set up beautifully. I would recommend Simply Elegant for any large event in a heartbeat.

There were a few minor hiccups with some out of the ordinary special requests, but the guests didn't know any difference. We had a great time and his team worked really well with my coordinator so I didn't have to think (much) about the details.

Mike was very generous to let us bring two more persons during tasting. The food was very good. My guests really enjoy the food, and the staffs are very friendly. Few weeks after my wedding, one of my guests asked me for simply elegant's phone number to use for her sister's wedding. I and my husband glad to choose simply elegant.

I had my wedding on 12/7/13 at Castle Green in Old Town Pasadena. Simply Elegant Catering was one of the many catering options I had to use for my wedding date at Castle Green and I could not be more thrilled with their service and food! They are a FULL service catering company. The did from all the set-up, food and clean up! They are AMAZING!! the food was super delicious, amazing friendly service and they are very wonderful to work with. Mike's entire team is wonderful. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for delicious food and super A++++ service!

Mike and his team are AWSOME!!! They made everything PERFECT!!! The whole team are very good at following the Timeline, but also, good at giving us advices if they think something will work better than the original plan. My husband and I used Huntington for our March 2012 wedding at the Los Angeles River Center - they were one of the preferred vendors, and we actually only did two tastings (one with HC, one with another vendor). They were very patient with us as we created our menu - first, we tried for low-cost options, then we had a few more additions, and then finally we said "let's create our dream menu!" Once we went into the tasting, we were sold - the food was fantastic and they also allowed my maid of honor to join the tasting for free (she represented the vegan taste-vote). Other catering companies wanted to charge us extra if we brought another person. The chef also came out to talk with us about substitutions and vegan options, which was much appreciated.

We used them for food and rentals (tables, chairs, plates, etc.), and the pricing was very reasonable. I even showed the quote to my coworker, who is the event planner for a major university, and she said that we were getting a great deal. We had our food served family-style; we also provided our own alcohol and they provided the bartenders and mixers. Another great thing about HC: they allowed us to drop off our alcohol a couple of days prior to the wedding (boxed and labeled) and held it for us for several days after the wedding so we could pick up the leftovers.

Everyone I worked with was very timely and professional - I agree with some of the other reviewers who wrote that it could be confusing with so many people to work with at the company, but no matter who it was they were always so prompt in their communication. When it came to the day of, everything looked great - I was able to try one of our mac and cheese appetizers on a tiny spoon, and it was delicious. I STILL crave the scallops to this day - it's very hard to get scallops cooked correctly, let alone in a batch, but I ate every bit of mine. I would recommend them to anyone!!

Mike and Laura made our wedding a dream come true. Not only was the food spectacular, Mike was willing to go the extra mile to personalize our wedding. He worked with us through several obstacles of having a wedding at home. The twice baked potato was the best thing I have ever eaten. We also recommend all people Mike works with, especially, Brian, who does lighting and is a class act. Between the ambiance of the lighting and the delicious food, we could not be happier.

Huntington Catering did an amazing job with my wedding on 7/21. A week and a half later, guests are still talking about the potato gratin! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and efficiently served. All of the staff were present but never intrusive. The planning process was enjoyable and I always felt like I was getting a good value. Working in Food and Beverage, it was important that I delivered in this area- and Huntington made that happen.

I would hire them again for another event!

This catering company is by far the best out of the 20 to 30 I researched before choosing them, as well as providing better service and food than any other wedding or event that I have ever been to, (I have been to many). I will start with the attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism of the the staff, from the bartenders to the wait staff, and chef's I have never experienced such sweet and helpful people. When you add mike to the top of that, you get the best service you could possibly hope for. There was no complication or hindrance that could slow him or his staff down, and always with a smile and a friendly tone would they quickly solve or answer any question or problem. My newlywed wife and myself can not possibly recommend Simply Elegant enough, they were one of the brightest spots on an otherwise rainy day.

Mike and Anthony and everyone at Simply Elegant were wonderful. Simply Elegant was one of our venue's preferred caterers, and while we contacted several of the preferred caterers, Mike and his wife Laura were the first to get back to us. We had our tasting with him and decided not to look any further. The food was incredible, and their responsiveness was great. Every meeting included cookies and coffee, which was a nice plus. But more important than anything, the day of went off without a hitch. I still have people complimenting me on our food, and I was personally really impressed by the service and the bartenders. I was also impressed by Mike's general approach to our event---everything is customer oriented. You want to go cheap? Mike will make it happen. Want to buy your own booze? Perfect, here's how much you'll need. Need a last-minute substitution or addition? No problem, we're on it. It all felt very anti-wedding-industry, in a really refreshing way. They also recommended our day-of planner (Samantha Sisk of La Bella Dia), who was amazing. Overall, Simply Elegant was incredible to work with, and I would recommend them without hesitation.

So honored to give this review (and recommendation) for Mike Faulkner and Simply Elegant Catering. Miranda and I started our caterer search last summer and were so happy to find Mike. He and his wife immediately responded to our us, providing all necessary info, and within a week we had scheduled our tasting. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the process was easy and fun. We really can't say enough good things about Mike.

Admittedly, we made a lot of changes in the months leading up to our wedding, and Mike rolled with punches. He made helpful suggestions and went above and beyond to find the things that would make my wife's vision of our tables come to life. Mike graciously allowed us time to come in and meet in person to discuss and view our different options. One day, he even drove around last minute to two different rental companies so we could see our complete table setting together. He always made us feel at ease and like his most important client.

Our dinner was very formal, and Mike and his staff took care of everyone wonderfully. We received many amazing compliments on the food. Our guests were very impressed how the tri tip and the stuffed chicken were cooked and with their great flavor The biggest hit was Mike's vegetable wellington--it was a main vegetarian dish that he made into a side, and our guests couldn't stop asking about it.

The most important point in this entire review is that Mike is simply a wonderful person who genuinely cares that your big day is enjoyable and exactly how you want it. He is the type of person you want to have in your corner because you will always feel cared for and secure that your event will be amazing with Simply Elegant Catering. I don't give many referrals, ever. But, I was so impressed with Mike's business, attitude and genuine spirit that I'm happy to write this recommendation. We used Mike and his team at Simply Elegant to caterer our wedding at Castle Green and for an after party at our home the next day. I can't say enough great things about this experience! After interviewing 3 caterers and having 2 tastings our decision to go with Simply Elegant was an easy one. And now that the wedding is behind us, we know we made the right choice for catering! Mike provided great guidance on planning a meal that met our needs and yet was so open to our ideas/suggestions and feedback. He was very patient and responded so quickly to emails/texts which made our planning process go very smoothly. We selected all our rentals including chargers, and table linens etc. through them and Mike did a great job helping us find something that met our vision. Everything at the wedding was exactly how we had planned!
Mike allowed us to personalize our experience by using homemade recipes for one of the appetizers! We had some tough food critics at our wedding, given the bride's brother is an executive chef and everyone including him raved about how amazing all the food was. Weeks later people are still talking about the food at our wedding! His staff is so professional too!
The after party was a more casual event with BBQ food and once again the Simply Elegant team provided top rated customer service, amazing food and a fun party!
We are so happy we choose Simply Elegant for our special day, they really did an outstanding job. We plan to use them again for any catering needs our family may have in the future. Thank you to Mike and his team for filling up our guests with delicious and memorable food!

Simply Elegant Catering was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding reception! The team at Simply Elegant is extremely responsive, flexible and great to work with. My wedding coordinator and I worked directly with Mike. He made me feel as if he truly cared about the success of our wedding and that it was not just another catering job. Since June is a prime time for weddings in Pasadena, CA, it is certainly a busy time for Simply Elegant - however, Mike was on top of it all from beginning to end. Mike was a wonderful caterer. He and his team are so professional and were such a major help the day of my event. Throughout the whole planning process of my wedding Mike was there to lend a hand a offer help anyway that he could. Huntington was AMAZING!! Everything about them was top notch. The food was fantastic and all our guests keep telling us that it was the best food they have had at wedding, as well as some of the best service they have had! Huntington Catering was very flexible with working with our budget, and the quality and taste of their menu options were hard to beat when we were comparing options. We had many raving reviews from our guests about the food and service staff at our wedding. Not only was the food up to par, but we were so impressed by the courteous and efficient staff. Simply Elegant is everything we could ask for when it came to catering our wedding. We had so many compliments on the food, the service, and the table settings. The servers and bartenders were top notch and always very kind to all our requests on the big day. Mike Faulkner provided a great meal and evening!!! The food was wonderful and the staff was great. We could not have asked for anything more. We did food tastings with him months before the wedding and it was so much fun. They made a special holiday chex mix they had at each bar and they served milk and freshly made chocolate chip cookies at the end of the evening.

Out of all the vendors I used for my wedding, Simply Elegant was the best. My guests couldn't stop raving about the food. Mike was pleasant to work with and was genuinely excited for me and my (now) husband. Mike never made me feel like I was bothering him and since he knew the venue like the back of his hand, I was able to rely on him to answer questions about it. His staff was great and professional. And you just can't beat the price. Have you heard of the saying "you get what you pay for?" Well with Simply Elegant you get so much more than what you pay for. You won't have to worry about thing. Mike will take care of it for you. At my wedding it was "Adults Only." I even called my guests with kids to remind them "no kids." But you always get that one that brings theirs. Luckily, Mike had prepared a kids meal just in case this happened. I never asked him to. He was just prepared. How great is that?! You won't be disappointed if you use Simply Elegant.

We has HCC cater our wedding and we couldn't have been happier. Justin, the owner, helped us along as we planned the event, showing us a bunch of different design options for the rentals (Yes, the offer their own rentals which will save you a bundle) and gave us a great tasting, well presented menu that everyone at the wedding absolutely flipped for.

One thing to note- Nhgia Luu was the team leader for our event, and I have to say that he was awesome! There never appeared to be any hiccups in the operation and when my bride or I were ever without a drink, he was quick to act. The entire night was filled with little moments like that, holding back my bride's favorite beer just so she could have the last one, bringing us a special hours d'oeurve tray while we were taking pictures because they knew we'd never get a taste otherwise.

Seriously, I can't recommend these guys enough! A+++

Mike and Laura were wonderful from the very beginning of our planning all te way to the execution of our event! We started meeting with Mike a little over a year prior to our wedding day and he always made us feel like a priority! He is keen on detail and for me that was major! My highest regards for his customer service!

As for his product, well.....folks are still raving about how yummy the food was and it has almost been a month! His food was prepared the same day so was deliciously fresh! His staff was super friendly and very professional. Once again my highest regards on services rendered.

Barbara and Justin from Huntington Catering were so easy to work with and such a joy. They put together an amazing fusion menu incorporating the Asian and Peruvian backgrounds of myself and my husband. They were so flexible and gracious with all of the menu and rental changes. They even went out of their way to track down the hard-to-find ingredients for the specialty drink I wanted (chicha morada)! I can't even begin to explain how much I appreciated that. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I made it a point to sit down and enjoy my dinner! The wait staff was so kind and helpful. Catering is such a big component of the wedding, especially when they handle your rentals as well, and HC was such a wonderful partner through it all!

Simply Elegant is simply awesome! Mike clearly is very passionate about food, and that enthusiasm carries over into every aspect of his business. The personal service and attention to detail he showed during our initial meeting convinced us we had finally found the right company. That meeting set the bar pretty high, yet he still managed to exceed our expectations. He worked with us every step of the way to ensure that we were happy with our choices. Picking Simply Elegant was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the first meeting throughout the whole process, we sincerely appreciated the personable service that we received from Mike and Laura. We didn't feel like another customer that needed to be "sold" on a service. They truly cared about our event and they were dedicated to working with us to make our vision come alive. Throughout the process, they made themselves fully available to us to contact them at any time with any questions or concerns. They consistently demonstrated commitment to responding to us in a timely manner as well. Mike made himself available to meet with us several times before the event to work through the many details that evolved throughout the process.
These meetings were invaluable! Early on, he also recommended other vendors whom we were exceptionally pleased with as well. Mike and Laura from Simply Elegant Catering are a class act. Our venue gave us 4 catering options to choose from and although they were not the least expensive of the 4, they had the best quality of food and service for the price. I say you can't put a number on ease of mind and let me just say that Mike and Laura exceeded our expectations. He offered us one tasting and it came down to them and another company. When the other company offered us prime rib, Mike was willing to give us a second tasting with prime rib at no extra cost. He didn't even charge us for our first tasting. He was very open to our wants and dislikes. The quality of food exceeded the other company and Mike's customer service was impeccable. And if you think they only serve meat dishes you are wrong. Mike gave us a menu for many of our vegetarian guests. At the end of the reception, all of them came up to us and said that was the best vegetarian menu they've had at any wedding. We also served salmon and prime rib that night, which everyone loved. On the day of the event, I have to admit I dropped the ball on a couple of items but Mike rolled with the punches and straightened out my mess without contacting me. I never learned about any of the problems until after the wedding because he handled everything and remained calm throughout. Everything ran smoothly and I saw no hiccups. Our guest and my husband and I had an amazing reception because of Simply Elegant Catering. Everyone loved the food, drinks, desserts, and service all thanks to Mike and Laura. I hope to use them for other future events. Thank you Simply Elegant Catering.

Mike and Simply Elegant Catering crew were absolutely FANTASTIC! Mike was able to take away all the stress of coordinating the tables, food and set up whilst simultaneously serving some amazing food. The list of compliments to the chef never ended. Everything from his salads to his BBQ ribs to the "gone in a flash" apple cobbler and chocolate chip and milk shooters were a total hit. He even packed us a couple to go boxes for our wedding night...the food was great the next morning too! Not only was the food delicious, the price affordable and his services top notch but he is also the nicest man. My husband and I could not have asked for a nicer or more helpful caterer. Simply Elegant Caterer Company was the catering company for my wedding. We met with the owner, Mike, and had our tasting. After our tasting, we knew that we didn't even need to meet with other caterers because Mike's food is SO good. He has reasonable prices, AMAZING food, and is extremely professional. On your wedding day, things are very stressful and chaotic. With Mike, you don't have to worry. He arrived to my venue early and took care of everything. Everything (tables, chairs, table settings, etc) was set up hours before anyone ever arrived. His wait staff was incredibly professional and sweet. They made sure I along with my groom actually ate during our cocktail hour and were well hydrated. I would highly recommend Simply Elegant for ANY event!

Where can we start with Simply Elegant Catering? For our wedding we went really outside the box in regards to our food choices. We wanted unique appetizers, different wedding food, specialty cocktails a unique ceremony seating layout - the list can go on and on. Mike and his team were outstanding - They took every one of our ideas and executed them perfectly. The pricing was great as the team at Simply Elegant worked to meet our budget needs while ensuring that our personal touches were there. The team was always responsive to our needs, got back to us quickly and most importantly were honest and willing to make our ideas come to life. Our wedding was a month ago and we are still hearing about how good the food was and how neat our ceremony seating was.
If you need a caterer in the LA area we couldn't recommend a company more. Use simply elegant catering you won't be disappointed.

We were lucky enough to have been given a recommendation by a friend who had used Simply Elegant for her daughters wedding. We had our introduction/meeting with Mike and new right away that they would be our caterer of choice. Mike and his crew were spectacular. Always professional, accommodating, great ideas and fun to work with. I have honestly never attended a function where so many comments were made about the absolutely delicious food (and plenty of it) and service. Our guests called us for weeks after the wedding to tell us how much they enjoyed the food and the incredible service. The servers were attentive but very unobtrusive. Simply Elegant Catering is absolutely amazing!!!! We used them for our wedding at the beginning of the month and everything was great! They were accommodating, professional, always responsive and available, and sooooo yummy! Best wedding food I have ever had and all of my guests said the same thing. The food tasted exactly like it did at our tasting, which is always something you worry about. We were able to bring stuff to them early to take to the wedding and set up and they brought back all our extra guest gifts, alcohol, and table accessories and held them until we were able to come pick them up. We even ran out of beer in the middle of the wedding and they went and got us more!!! That was a huge help!! They set up our venue exactly like we wanted. The service staff was on it!! We never didn't have a full glass of wine or dirty dishes in front of us. I seriously couldn't of asked for more!! Everything was perfect and exactly as I pictured it and wanted it to be. I will definitely recommend them to all and for sure use them again!!! Thank you soooooo much Mike and Laura! You guys are the best!!!! :)

I looked forward to seeing him an discussing all aspects of the wedding. I'm not the girl who planned my wedding my whole life so picking out every little detail just wasn't what I wanted to do. I had an idea of how I wanted everything to look and Mike had the uncanny ability to point me in exactly the right direction.

We also had our rehearsal dinner at his space on Huntington Drive. It's quite, cozy and we all felt very comfortable there. His team had everything prepared promptly, on time and everything tasted amazing! He also was able to switch bartenders last minute for us. We had planned for it to be beer and wine only, but the week of my mother-in-law changed her mind and wanted to also have mixed drinks. She can be a bit indecisive (as I have discovered!) so thanks Mike for dealing with it instead of me!

The wedding day was just amazing. I didn't have a day of coordinator because I didn't really feel I needed to have one. With Mike there and my sisters helping out everyone knew where everything had to go and everything was in it's place. It was so nice to have this feeling that everything was being taken care of and from my many meetings and conversations with Mike, I knew I could put my trust in him. His team did not disappoint!!

There are not enough wonderful things I can say about Mike and his team! I need to have another party just so I can work with them again!

Mike and Laura were AMAZING in every sense of the word. Of the four caterers I contacted, Simply Elegant's prices were a few thousand cheaper and included everything up front (whereas another company would provide me a quote within my budget but fail to mention that it did not include any of the rentals). Two days before my wedding I realized I was missing something crucial and Mike called me within hours to let me know he would take care of it. The food was beautiful, fresh, and so so tasty. Our guests were elated and spoke of the food (that was not "wedding food-ish") for weeks after. Mike's staff made me feel like the center of attention the entire evening. Someone was in charge of bringing us appetizers, making sure our drinks were full, and served us first. Mike helped to make our reception feel effortless. Thank you mike and laura for making our day so so special!!

Huntington Catering was a delight to work with. The whole crew was awesome. We worked closely with Liz and Justin and they were very easy to work with and provided a lot of guidance along the way.

I loved the ease of having all the catering and our reception rentals through one vendor. Also, their expertise in working at my venue was so helpful. They knew what they were doing and knew what they needed!

We still get people telling us that the food at our wedding was the best wedding food they have ever had!

Mike Faulkner and the Simply Elegant staff are incredible. Mike assisted us throughout the wedding process from start to finish. He was extremely professional, reliable, attentive and responsive! Mike's food is incredible - from the empanadas, to the pulled chicken sliders to the BBQ brisket - people raved about the food. Mike embraced the challenge of catering a KOSHER wedding for 325 people and it was flawless and delicious. Not only were we thrilled with the food but they also made the desserts for our wedding - caramel apple wedges, frozen chocolate covered bananas and donut holes with dipping sauces. Our favorite part at the end of the night was walking by tables with empty dessert platters and sticks. Mike assisted in making our wedding everything we envisioned. Caterers often have a reputation of being difficult to get a hold of and not particularly nice - Mike is quite the opposite! I truly recommend working with Mike and the Simply Elegant Catering staff as they will make your wedding a dream come true!

We used the Huntington Catering Company for our July 2011 wedding, and we completely recommend them! They were recommended to us by our wedding planner, Trini from Nozza studio. Their pricing was well within our budget, and so the only other determining factor was the food. We were sold on the first bite at our tasting!

First, we should clarify, we didn’t have your typical wedding food. Our dream wedding involved the In-N-Out truck, much to a typical caterers chagrin. But, the Huntington Catering Company really stepped it up here. They were flexible and accommodating to our goal of an In-N-Out wedding, even helping us coordinate the food based on the whole In N Out truck experience. For instance, the truck doesn’t serve fries, so naturally they brought in a fryer to the site of our wedding! And, not only did they put out amazing regular fries but sweet potato fries, too! Burgers and fries-check! Now, how can we provide a more “sit down” dining experience? The Huntington Catering Company had the solution yet again with three different salads for our guests to choose from...their Herb Salad is a must have - unique and delicious (I wish I could get some more of that as I’m typing this)!

Another thing the Huntington Catering Company rocked at -- the service, the rentals, the setup, the cleanup. They had all the right people helping us man the bar (we served beer on tap and wine which we provided on the day of the wedding), deliver In-N-Out burgers to the tables, get the tables in place, organize all the reception area...and the not-to-be-overlooked-because-its-the-last-thing-you-want-to-worry-about: cleanup. We got our full cleaning deposit back from our venue because they said that everything was spotless.

Simply put--the Huntington Catering Company is the most amazing all-around catering company you can trust to make your event happen. And, they don’t make “wedding food” (you know, the kind of food that you don’t even remember eating the day after), they make delicious food. Many of our guests commented on the tasty food, excellent service and seamless service. 5 stars for the Huntington Catering Company!

Huntington Catering Co. is amazing. I had my wedding May 2011 in Culver City at the Smog Shoppe and these guys did an awesome job.

I initially found them because they were on the preferred vendor list for the venue and they lived up to my expectations.

I didn't have a huge budget so they offered some suggestions to help with the costs. I heard the tray passed apps were so good, and in plenty (I never liked when the food is sparce). We actually got to eat dinner and my husband kept talking about how good the food was, and he's picky! It wasn't the typical "wedding food" - it was actually delicious!

The flow of service was done well. You were never in need of a refill and were treated so well by the friendly staff. Last minute we decided we might need some heat lamps and they took care of it no problem.

I can't say enough about this group. Great service. Great food. Great cost. Great people.

Ask for Justin (son of the owner) or Liz. They are both awesome!

I really enjoyed working with Mike and Laura. They are both very nice people, very responsive to emails, and easy to work with.

One thing I was very happy with was the quality of the food--they used really high quality products and it showed.

I also really appreciated that the food on the day-of the wedding tasted the same as the food that my fiance and I got on the day of the tasting--we got what we paid for, in other words, and there were no surprises or last minute changes.

We were taking pictures during cocktail hours, but I spoke to my guests and they said that they were impressed with the number of passed appetizers--we had three different choices total, but there was more than enough to go around and everyone was happy with the taste and quantity.

Another nice thing about Simply Elegant was that it was a one-stop-shop for all of the equipment/furniture/china/etc. rentals we needed, and they also took care of a lot of the set-up of the reception (and the rentals for the ceremony) and the take-down clean up. This meant I didn't have to scramble to find other vendors to handle these things. I cross-checked their rental prices on chairs and other items, and found their prices to be fair or more reasonable than the major rental places in our area as well. This was really great as I didn't have a wedding planner and was having to do all of the organizing myself!

Overall, I am very happy with Simply Elegant and would definitely use them again.

Mike and his crew get 5 stars for our wedding on 4/30/11. Even though this date was his and his wife's anniversary, he was willing to take care of our wedding. The service he provided was amazing and the value for cost was unbelievable. He provided all of the rentals for our backyard wedding which included everything but the kitchen sink, even his own ovens to cook our food on site. His staff was unbelievably friendly during the event and even one of our guests wanted his info to hire him for another event. The food was wonderful and everyone remarked on it. He even brought the cake from the bakery the day of! I was a very specific bride and he pulled our wedding off without a hitch. He really went the extra mile and my husband and I are truly thankful. The most important quality in a vendor is their trustworthiness and passion for their work. Mike and Simply Elegant Catering possess both in abundance. From my first meeting with Mike he was down-to-earth, professional, and filled with great enthusiasm. Mike really wanted to make our wedding amazing, and he gave us great advice and tips. Mike is a true professional and you can trust him to work within your plans and budget.

Now, onto the food... It was absolutely fabulous! My favorite dish was the sea bass: Perfectly tender and moist, and packed with juicy flavors. The Moroccan style lamb chops were very unique and exquisite, and make the perfect hors d'ouevres.

All in all, my experience with Mike and Simply Elegant Catering was top notch and very positive. I highly recommend them to take care of your catering needs!

We chose Simply Elegant for our upcoming wedding in July because their food was delicious and left us wanting more. And more was there to fill our stomachs. Quality with Quantity. Simply Elegant Catering was simply amazing. We had our wedding at the Pasadena Museum of California Art and after looking at several places for a vendor who met the museum strict requirements and was within our budget, Simply Elegant came to our rescue. Mike with Simply Elegant ensured that the museum was happy and worked with us to ensure the price was within our budget and offered many suggestions. One of the many things I loved about them was there flexibility! When planning a wedding, it is great when vendors can be flexible and accommodating to your needs without charging you for all the extras. Mike provided us with a bartender and allowed us to purchase our own alcohol, this for us was a major help because alcohol can easily put you over your budget. The food, service and staff where amazing.

Mike and his team at Simply Elegant catered our wedding at Puddingstone Resort in May of 2010. They did an awesome job. Everyone loved the food! We used them for our rentals as well which were very competitively priced and high quality. He allowed us to bring our own alcohol as well which his bartender served, that saved us a ton of money. We also had our rehearsal dinner at his store front and he gave us a fabulous deal. I would highly recommend using his space for your rehearsal dinner if it is available.
Mike is an honest, straight forward guy who makes fabulous food. If we ever have another catered party we will definitely use Simply Elegant again.

Working with Mike from Simply Elegant Catering was great! Unlike most of the vendors we came across, Mike really cared about our wedding and wanted to make it the best it could be. No one expects good food at a wedding, but Mike and his catering team did the impossible. People are still talking about his rosemary masehd potatoes and sea bass with the lemon grass sauce. Hungtington Catering was AMAZING! We are so fortunate to have found them. They did a great job planning the menu and making sure things ran smoothly. We were recently married at Castle Green on June 8, 2013. Mike and Laura (and their son) are such kind, accommodating caterers! It was especially nice to work with a family-based business but make no mistake, this isn't a mom and pop shop. Simply Elegant Catering was recommended by my venue and it looks like they are frequently booked not only by Castle Green couples, but all over SoCal as well. I found their cost to be reasonable and while their choices are already plentiful, you are still able to make special requests. The one thing I would caution future couples about is to make sure that the bartenders not open more wine bottles than are needed. We had bottles that were 4/5 full and were bummed to pour them out, maybe request to open bottles as guests need them.

However overall, Simply Elegant Catering was easy to work with and quite responsive. We needed some stantions at the last minute for our film-themed wedding and Mike was able to get those for us in a snap! My recommendation for food: marinated tri-tip (guests raved about this) and roasted veggies (perfectly done). The pear blossom salad was delicious and unique with the purple basil and cranberry dijon vinaigrette, our requested addition of toasted almonds made it even better. If you get the flatbread, make sure that it's flat, as our bread(s) rose a little bit more to the consistency of pizza. Ahi tuna was fantastic as an appetizer! The chocolate chip cookies and milk shots were a welcome yummy addition at the end of the night.

I highly recommend Simply Elegant Catering! Oh and have the catering done "Family Style". Our guests loved it and it really got them to interact with each other over dinner. We even had a few guests hopping from table to table trying to find more tri-tip! Happy eating!

So glad we chose this caterer. So kind and genuine whenever we spoke. You can tell that they love what they do and it shows in every way. The staff is wonderful as well as the owners. We have gotten so many compliments on our food and servers. Everyone wants to know who catered our wedding. Our wedding was held at a venue that may have been a challenge for most companies (the eating area was long and narrow, with long rectangular tables) but not Justin and Huntington! All the food was spectacular, and the wait staff were super professional. It really was like eating at a five star restaurant with 110 of our friends and family. One of the best things about Huntington was the fact they handled the food, the rentals, the bar, the cake (OMG soooo good) and even the barista service which was a huge hit! I HIGHLY recommend getting the tuna apps and the tritip. Delicious! Just go in for a tasting and you will see how awesome the staff is to work with. We couldn't be happier. Trust me, ditch the "chicken picatta" type catering companies and give Huntington a call.

Mike and his team are awesome! Mike is very personable and easy to work with. My wedding was a huge success and my guests were very pleased with the dinner (salmon and beef tri tip).. He even provided a nacho bar at the end of the evening!

Mike and Laura at Simply Elegant were amazing at our wedding. First off, they made a fully catered Los Angeles wedding affordable in tough times. I felt like they understood our constraints and still gave it 100%. I'm sure they do much fancier, more expensive events, but I never felt like they were putting me second because of that.

They also handled many aspects of our wedding - rentals, food, linens, all set up and clean up at our reception venue, staffing, liasing with my day-of coordinator and site personnel, and they even have a baker they work with who makes delicious cakes! I had no involvement once we really got the ball rolling which was amazing. That said, if you want to do all that managing yourself, Mike is happy to keep you involved, but it was wonderful for me to not have to make 75 phone calls every time someone had a question.

The food was amazing. So many of our guests came of afterwords and said how delicious it was. Some people even said they couldn't really have cake because they had eaten so much dinner! The event ran incredibly smoothly, and we got our entire deposit back, and were out on time.

Simply Elegant gave us everything we wanted and more. The service was outstanding. Our guests had nothing but compliments. As the bride, my groom and I were busy during dinner saying hello to our guests. When we finally made it back to our table, the servers had brought us both dinner plates full of a little bit of everything from the buffet without us even having to mention it!

The responsiveness was outstanding as well. Emails, phone calls, menu drafts, and contracts were all properly and professionally delivered. They were also very flexible with the tastings.

Above having wonderful options for dinner ware, flatware, table linens, chairs, etc., the food was the best part. The presentations were clean, simple, but creative and the quality of food for such a large quantity of guests was more than what we hoped for. One of the true gifts of Simply Elegant is the peace of mind they provided us. We knew we didn't have to worry about anything with them and, as a former bride, that makes it worth it!

Huntington Catering went above and beyond our expectations. Justin and his team were fabulous to work with from the start. They worked with us on menu choices to fit our budget and were highly accomodating with any last minute changes. They also provided all of our rentals at a great cost. We provided our own alcohol at the wedding, and when we ran low, they hopped over to BevMo to replenish everything. We received many compliments from our guests that we had the best wedding food ever. Seamless and professional service on the wedding day resulted in zero stress for me and my husband. I can't recommend HC enough!

From rentals, to bar service,
To staffing and plenty of menu options if you want to make things easier on yourself this is the company to work with.

Mike was extremely helpful throughout our entire planning process. He was quick to respond and very helpful in suggesting alternative choices when we had to make changes to the menu/setup. Having a caterer with this much experience helped the wedding go smoothly with the rest of our vendors as well. I would recommend Simply Elegant to anyone planning a wedding or other party.
