Simply Desserts was such a good decision!! The cake was DELICIOUS and so beautiful as well. It got rave reviews from all of our guests- especially the Ube flavor! A big reason we went with Simply Desserts is because of the variety of flavors available, and it was so fun to do the tasting and to pick out our favorite combos. We got a small wedding cake for a cutting picture and a few different cupcake flavors, including a gluten free dozen, for our wedding. Everything was delicious, we had 0 leftovers, and guests told us it was the best cupcake they’ve ever had! Ocean was easy to work with, prices are affordable (free delivery/set up too!!) especially compared to the quality and other vendors we tested out. The at home cake tasting was fun to do too, would definitely recommend

Four months later and we’re still talking about our cake!
Simply desserts made us a beautiful cake that tasted amazing! We went with the lemon champagne with raspberry frosting. Our guests complemented how nice it tasted. We are so happy we found them and are looking forward to getting an anniversary cake!

Beautiful and Delicious
Simply Desserts provided us with a gorgeous wedding cake and cupcake display for our 100 person wedding. We opted for the Earl Grey and Lavender cake with Buttercream frosting and couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
We personally found the cake and cupcakes to be absolutely delicious, but also received many compliments from our guests. We only had five cupcakes left at the end of the night so I think the results speak for themselves!
I also want to mention that Simply Desserts was incredibly flexible and easy to work with regarding our multiple date changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.

I picked Simply Desserts based off of how delcious they were when I would visit their job simply to spoil myself after a work day. Kim, the owner, was wonderful to work with and really took off with the flexiability I gave her when it came to designing my cake. She would always get back to me within 24 hours if I had any questions. Kim was also very understanding of my order continiously changing in flux with my dwindling guest count. I also used her for cupcakes, which after my wedding, there were none left which I think is a review within itself.

We knew exactly who we wanted for our big day after sampling Simply Desserts over the years! Kimberly McDonald is so wonderful to work with and she definitely has the professional experience to help make your cake dreams come true. I have worked with her for birthday parties to create custom, themed cupcakes as well as custom cakes and cake pops for my proposal party! She even suggested certain desserts that we added to our wedding dessert bar and even accommodated a last minute request from us. At our reception, so many of our guests came up to me to compliment the unique flavor choice and guests devoured multiple slices of cakes and desserts. It was really amazing. I highly recommend them and look forward to working with them in the future!

Many of our guests said it was the best wedding cake they had tasted! The cake was beautifully done and looked exactly like we were expecting. Kimberly and team were so accommodating and easy to work with and had lots of flavors to choose from (we picked Almond and White Chocolate). Our only complaint is that we were so busy on the night that we didn’t get to sit and eat enough of it! We will have to go back for our 1 year anniversary. :)

My husband and I decided to go with Simply Desserts for our wedding cake and we are so happy we did. Kim and her team were very responsive and flexible, as evidenced by our changing our minds on the cake’s appearance at least 3 or 4 times. The final product was exactly what we had hoped for – it looked wonderful and tasted DELICIOUS! To this day – nearly five months after our wedding – we still get people telling us how tasty it was. We’re looking forward to getting our one-year anniversary cake and have already decided to get our guests’ favorite, the chocolate cake. I can’t recommend Kim and Simply Desserts enough!

Our wedding cake from Simply Desserts was incredible! It was absolutely delicious and could not have been any better. We had a four tired cake with 2 tiers red velvet with cream cheese filling, and 2 tiers almond cake with honey lemon and raspberry filling with the entire cake frosted in swiss buttercream. Kimberly was fantastic and offered us a custom, personalized cake tasting experience prior to ordering the cake. The cake was delivered on time the day of the wedding, and Kimberly even assembled the cake flowers for us. I can not recommend Simply Desserts enough!

We're SO happy we chose Simply Desserts to make not only our wedding cake, but all of our wedding desserts!
In addition to the cake, we ordered a macaron tower, fruit tarts, and custom sugar cookies. The sugar cookies were made based off pictures we provided of cookies we found on social media, and the staff at Simply Desserts recreated them beautifully.
The cake itself turned out STUNNING!!! Kimberly, the owner of Simply Desserts, went back and forth with me via email, revising her sketch of the cake several times until I was satisfied. She even came the day of the wedding to help setup and put the finishing touches on the cake. The final product was beyond my wildest dreams! Most importantly, the cake was delicious. My maid of honor is a foodie who travels all over the world and is difficult to impress, but even she said the cake was moist and delicious.

Simply desserts was local to me, so I stopped in to inquire about wedding cakes. They set me up for a tasting which was great, I had been to one before that didn't want to offer a tasting so I didn't trust that.. I ended up adding delivery a week out from our date and the owner was very accommodating. I also dropped off fake flowers from Hobby Lobby. When she delivered the cake, it was exactly like the photo I took in and the flowers looked real! Would definitely recommend Simply Desserts for any occasion!

I used Simply Desserts for our wedding cake and was super impressed! Kimberly made it easy to set up a tasting and we had so much fun doing it. I needed the cake to be gluten free and she had plenty of options. We ended up going with a lemon cake with raspberry buttercream and a raspberry jelly on the inside & a honey lemon buttercream on the outside. It was SO delicious!! Everyone at the wedding was telling us how good it was - and no one could tell it was gluten free either!
I would highly recommend this bakery for a wedding cake or any type of special ordered desserts - especially gluten free. Kimberly was awesome to work with and made the exact cake I envisioned!!

Kim and Simply Desserts was actually the third cake tasting we had and after the first two being similarly disappointing we were worried that we weren't going to be able to find something we liked. Kim wiped away any concern that we had, the tasting was phenomenal and she encouraged us to make a fun choice for one of our flavors of green tea cake and matcha cream cheese filling. When we first met Kim, we knew we found our wedding cake provider. She was patient and listened to all our needs. She was so accommodating to the point that she even made us Ube cupcakes (yes, we're Asians) as a special request AND they were amazingly delicious!!! We ended up with her earl grey/lavender cake as our main tier and the almond for the rest. We barely had any cake left over and the Ube cupcakes were gone even before we cut our cake. Not too boast, but that's the best wedding cake ever and I've attended several weddings myself. I can't wait to celebrate my 1st year anniversary so I can taste that lavender cake again!!!

My husband and I wanted a cake that was Gothic and elegant at the same time for our Halloween wedding. We got the perfect cake! It was three tiers, all different cake shapes. There were black and maroon flowers to match our colors and skulls around the cake to get the Gothic feel. The lace added the perfect tough of elegance to the cake! The cake came out more perfect than we thought it could be because not many people want skulls, flowers and lace. Also, the cake was beyond delicious! We went with a red velvet cake and chocolate filing which turned out to be the ultimate combination. Thank you so much for the perfect cake!!! We were so impressed and so were all of our guests!!!

Delicious and Beautiful!
Simply Desserts made the best wedding cake ever! Our wedding cake was a two-tiered almond cake with cinnamon filling and sheets cakes of green tea cake with matcha filling, and they were the best cake I have ever had! During the tasting my now husband and I were a little hesitant to try the green tea cake because we are not huge fans of green tea flavors normally, but it was subtle and perfectly complimented by the matcha filling! Since we had a fall wedding the almond and cinnamon seemed like an easy choice. When we ordered our cake, they also said they would make us a fresh cake on our one-year anniversary, which I am so excited about.
I also ordered a surprise groom’s cake for the rehearsal dinner and they did a stunning job, I couldn’t believe it was made of cake! They made a car to look like my husband’s 2018 Mustang that his is in love with and the cake looked exactly like his car!!! I couldn’t believe how well they did on that cake and it tasted amazing! The car was their cookies and cream cake and again it was delicious! I don’t think you could go wrong with any of their flavors. Everything about Simply Desserts is amazing.

The wedding cake was perfect! Exactly what we asked for - both beautiful and delicious! So good - everyone wanted seconds! The groom's cake was so much fun! Custom created from photos of my son-in-law's car. It was a huge hit at the rehearsal dinner!

Simply the best!
Kimberly and her team were amazing from beginning to end. During the tasting, she provided different cuts of cakes and dollops of icing that we could mix and match. She let us take our sweet time and gave advice according to how I wanted our colors and flavors. She was very patient when we switched guest numbers around and allowed us basically to do everything we were comfortable with. She offered rentals for the cake and cupcake stands in one flat price. When it came to the day of the wedding, the cake was more beautiful than I could imagine. She got my exact vision and it was DELICIOUS. I'm very picky when it comes to my cakes let me tell you. I chose a lavender earl gray with honey swiss buttercream - simply the best. I went to two other cake tastings that quoted a bit more and they were not even half as good. They put magic in these cakes because they were super moist and with the right amount of icing. Drooling writing this review - wishing I had some right now!

We loved our delicious and beautiful wedding cake from Simply Desserts. It turned out so gorgeous and I couldn’t wait for the point of the reception when we finally got to dig in… it was amazing! Our guests raved about the cake, and a lot of people went back for seconds. There were zero leftovers, so I’m glad we have the option of a one-year anniversary cake!
Kimberly was really easy to work with and very responsive via email. Based on the tasting, we had high confidence in her abilities and we gambled on a unique-flavored cream cheese filling we hadn’t actually tasted. It turned out perfectly and was one of the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted. The pricing was transparent and was comparable to other wedding cake options in the DC area – I would say even a bit more reasonable. Thank you, Simply Desserts!

We met with quite a few vendors in the Leesburg area and were impressed by Kim's professionalism, and of course were sold after we tried her cakes! Couldn't have been happier with our wedding cake, delicious, and looked great!

From the cake testing, to discussing which pies we wanted and then adding in last minute shooter desserts- they were completely on top of everything. The wedding cake was absolutely beautiful!! Kim was very professional throughout the whole process! The cake tasting appointment was the best I've been to, and I went to about 5-6 prior to coming to this fabulous bakery! I would highly recommend Kimberly and Sinply Desserts! She was easy to work with and listened and recreated my dream wedding cake. The cake tasting was easy to set up and wonderful to try so many different flavor combinations. I chose the lavender cake with honey buttercream frosting along with the red velvet cake. We had originally planned to get our cake through our caterer, but about two months prior to our wedding their pastry chef quit. Thankfully we found Simply Desserts rather quickly! They were able to step in at the last minute and save they day. They offer a wide variety of delicious flavors, and are incredibly talented when it comes to decorating. Our cake looked and tasted amazing! Simply Desserts also offers to remake the top layer of your cake for your one year anniversary at no additional cost.

We decided to go with cupcakes and a small cake for us to cut into for our wedding. When we met with Kim, she was great! Very helpful with flavor pairings for the cake part and the icing and just overall wonderful. We ended up adding more cupcakes to our original order a month before the wedding and they were able to accommodate with no problem. The day of the wedding, they delivered the cake and cupcakes and everything was perfect. We wanted a simple rustic look and they knocked it out of the park. And everything was delicious! Everyone was talking about how good the cupcakes were. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend if you are looking for the perfect balance of a dessert table spread. The worst thing about Simply Desserts is that I would not have had the pleasure of having them make our wedding cupcakes if I didn't have a personal connection to them (coworkers' family). Even so, their cakes are delicious (personal favorite is the Almond cupcake!), the staff are incredibly helpful and personable, and they were just amazing all around! Definitely worth going out of your way for!

Kimberly made all our wedding cake dreams come true! When our pastry chef who was going to make our wedding cake contacted us a few months before our wedding to say she was pregnant, I spent a lot of time searching for someone else who could make a custom cake (a LEGO movie cake, to be specific) who was close by me, not too far from my wedding venue, and most importantly, wouldn't break the bank. We went in for a tasting and fell in love with the variety of flavors, the deliciousness of those flavors, and the fact that we could consult with Kimberly about exactly how we wanted our cake to look. On our wedding day, my fiance and I were excited to see everything, but most especially our cake! And the result was better than we could have hoped!! We had 120 people at our wedding and everyone loved the cake! They said it was delectable and the design was memorable and so us! As if that value for what we paid wasn't enough, we are SO looking forward to our anniversary cake! I love that it's free! (And it's a good thing too because we didn't get to eat any of our cake since it was already gone:))

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Simply Desserts! My husband and I have been going to the shop in Gainesville since opening week and we will continue to go for as long as we live here! It was an easy choice to have them create our wedding cake and cupcakes! The consultation was extremely helpful, the design (and re-design when we had to change our date and venue) process was easy and stress free! We decided to go with cupcakes and a cutting cake for our wedding and it all was amazing. Everyone loved the cutting cake and our cutting cake turned out beautifully. It matched our colors and design perfectly. Very low maintenance where they came and set up without much needed for us at an already crazy time. The display looked great and was just like I pictured.

We love our wedding cake. My fiance adores it. When we started thinking and making our cake with Kimberly, the owner, we didn't expect to add more items and change some stuff on it. She is so flexible in changes. We are also getting a complimentary cake on our first year anniversary. Since we didn't eat a lot of it on our wedding day, that would be great. It taste so good too. The only thing that went wrong is that in between the first and second tier, you can see a crack. But we really didn't thought about it during the wedding.

Kimberly is amazing! Everything from the tasting to the execution was absolutely perfect. She respected our budget (we talked to a few bakers who didn't), gave us options and was very flexible on the pastries we wanted in addition to the wedding cake. We got an alternating layers lemon and chocolate cake with her fresh raspberry cream in between - heavenly. She even did a last minute groom's cake! Kimberly was always available to answer my questions and talk me through the details of the day. She arranged the fresh flowers on the cake and it was absolutely stunning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wow what can I say...your cakes were AWESOME. I got lots of compliments on how great they tasted. Honestly that was the only dessert we offered and that was great choice. Your red velvet was great and adding the strawberry filling to the vanilla cake was also wonderful. The designs were perfect, just as I wanted. You did an excellent job on that grooms cake! The fireman helmet was perfect and the lettering, wow. We were ecstatic at how they turned out. Thanks Kimberly, I will tell everyone I know what a great job you guys did and of course I will be by for a cupcake soon! xoxo, Dana

I enjoyed working with Simply Desserts! Their cakes are absolutely amazing. It’s been a week since we got married and here we are still snacking on it – the cake tastes the same as it did on our wedding night. Best cake I have ever had! We also ordered cake pops as our thank you gift to our guests and sure enough, nothing short of incredible. So moist and delicious!
Simply desserts provides a cake tasting before choosing your wedding cake. It was easy and delicious. There was squares of cake and dollops of icing for us to mix and match and try out all the possibilities. They worked with our budget and provided foam cakes for decoration to help lower the cost. Highly recommend Simply Desserts for your wedding cake. We are looking forward to our 1 year complimentary anniversary cake.

Simply Desserts was simply amazing. Wonderful service and an excellent product. We ordered assorted desserts for a sweets table during our wedding reception. From cookies, to shooters, cupcakes, cheesecakes, and cake pops - every item was a hit. It was a pleasure working with the staff during the planning process and there were no issues during the delivery and set up. I highly recommended Simply Desserts for any event, especially for weddings!

Simply Desserts is a fantastic find! We went for a tasting, and signed right away. Kimberly is extremely accommodating and flexible. Other bakers we spoke with had so many rules and requirements -- Kimberly asked us what WE wanted and made it happen! She was so easy to work with! The week before the wedding, I saw they had this awesome new cupcake flavor, and I sent an email and she added ten of those to our order easily. And, when my husband returned the cupcake stand and told her I did not get a cupcake, she sent him home with one for me. She's truly nice, easy to work with, and the cake was beautiful and delicious! Kim and Simply Desserts are outstanding! I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. Our wedding cake was gorgeous and delicious. Kim and her team created exactly what I envisioned, including fondant models of our fur-babies! I have gotten complement after complement about how delicious the cake was. I am already counting down till my husband and I can enjoy it again for our 1 year anniversary!

We hired Simply Desserts for our October 2016 wedding. It was incredible and so delicious! We had many guests tell us it was the best wedding cake they had ever had (big compliment coming from people that attend lots of weddings). We were super happy with the cake and service and would highly recommend!

We had such a pleasant experience working with everyone from Simply Desserts. They worked with us to match the frosting with our wedding colors and the cake was amazing!! Us and everyone at our wedding thought it was absolutely delicious!

I can't say enough good things about them! Our guests LOVED the cake and many told us they went back for seconds. The cake was as beautiful as well and exactly what I wanted. They also had a quick response time and wonderful tasting. Highly recommend Simply Desserts!!

I came across Simply Desserts through a recommendation from one of my bridesmaids! I am so happy we were able to meet and taste their delicious cakes and desserts. We went with a small, semi-clad cake with raspberry filling and it was to die for!!! My husband and I were so happy with the offer for an anniversary cake because we couldn’t wait to eat the rest of the cake the day after our wedding. We also did a dessert bar with mini lemon blueberry cheesecakes, chocolate chip cookie shooters, and cake pops - ALL were incredible!!! I made it a point to try everything because I knew how good it would all be. Our guests loved how easy each dessert piece was to pick up and eat and enjoy. We were so happy with everything from Simply Desserts and cannot wait for our anniversary cake! Thank you!
