Vonnie rocks!!! Her cupcakes are amazing, that is huge coming from me, I bake... gourmet cupcakes... I was truly considering baking them myself and a friend recommended Simply Delish for the sweetheart cake. Well... I'm so thankful for the recommendation as now I know our guests will get to enjoy the best cake and cupcakes (other than mine of course, hehehe) around!!! Her attention to detail (ingredients) is impeccable and her suggestions on how to accommodate our guest list as well as matching our color scheme were greatly appreciated. Needless to say we left Simply Delish with full bellies, high on sugar and relieved that we found the best!!! -

Vonnie is simply delightful just like her desserts. We got more compliments on her cupcakes than anything else at our wedding. All of the desserts were gone before the night was over. Everything she made was SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Lacy Sent on 05/23/2018AMAZING!!! When we went to taste, for our wedding, Vonnie brought out a bunch of different flavors. They were all so good it was hard to choose. She was so nice and helpful. She helped us choose the best options for a large group. She kept our cake topper so we had one less thing to remember on the day of the wedding. She to be a e communicated with our florist, Susan at Sweet Lilacs, so we didn't have to be a middle man. She delivered everything right before the reception and set it all up. Everything not only tasted phenomenal but also looked absolutely gorgeous! Everyone raved about the cupcakes! I could not have been more happy with her work! -

STAY AWAY! Just a warning for anyone planning a wedding and thinking of choosing simply delish.
We researched the greater Sonora area for a great cake and cupcake bakery for our wedding. We sadly went with Simply Delish based on the raving reviews we found online. We scheduled a tasting, picked our flavors, picked our look and provided photos of the 3 teired design of butter cream that we had in mind and include a few hundred cupcakes as well ( total estimate of $1,655) . We met several times between the tasting and wedding date with no concerns. When the week of the wedding rolled around, we recieved an email requesting the pictures we showed during the tasting. We happily responded with the pictures and got a response back that the pictures were not what was discussed at the tasting and that they would provide a design that was fitting of the price we paid!! (paraphrased). On the day of the wedding the cake was delivered/dropped off at the venue and we were suprised to find out that we basically got a 3 tiered walmart qulity cake. It was so upsetting seeing the cake that didnt follow the wedding colors provided, detail provided or any portion of what we wanted, that we neither cut nor served the cake (I know its a huge waste but we didnt want pictures or any part of this randomly made cake to be included in our special event and only used the cupcakes).
After the wedding we contacted simply delish and informed them that the cake did meet any terms of the agreement (color or design) and let them know we can deliver the unused cake to them or they can pick it up. She let us know that they dont except any cakes back and they actually insulted my wife calling her "childish" in her ability to communicate and choice of wedding cake design was like a "clown cake". (We had a fairytail theme wedding, what they made looked like a clown cake and looked nothing like we requested). I asked since we were not happy with the cake and that the cake look was not met, that we pay the full amount for the cupcakes and requested that the remaining $570.00 cost of the cake be fully or partially refunded. She refused to accomodate us on any refund for the cake and let us know her lawyer will be ready for us!! Very unprofessional and horrible way to do business.Simply Delish's reply:
We've been in business for over 12 years and enjoyed meeting you and Anna at the tasting. At the tasting, there were a couple of cakes that Anna showed me, but they were outside of the price range that she was willing to accept. There was a third cake that she showed me, with pearls on it that she said would match her wedding dress and I agreed that it would be doable. The tasting was November 25, 2023 and I asked her to send me a pic of that cake. She said her phone was broken and would send it later. The wedding was February 3, 2024. As of January 31, 2024, I had not received any pics of any cakes. I emailed Anna and requested a pic of the cake. Anna sent me pics of the cakes that she originally wanted, NOT of the cake that we had agreed on and was in the contract. I emailed again, requesting a pic of the cake that was agreed on. Nothing from Anna. Not receiving a pic of the agreed upon cake, I was forced to come up with a design, which drew from certain aspects of the cakes she wanted, but kept within the price of the cake. A few days prior to the wedding, she stopped in to drop off the seven dwarfs and cake topper for the cake, but still no picture of the cake we agreed upon. Again, her phone was "broken" and she would "send it later".
It's very upsetting that this bride was either unable to communicate properly, or attempted to force me to do a cake that wasn't within her price range. I seriously work very hard to make our brides very happy with their order, but do require good communication in order to do so. Had I received the pic that we had agreed upon at the tasting, this would have never happened.
