Need an officiant? Pastor Mark is your guy!
My husband and I contacted Pastor Mark Willis a month before our wedding, still in search for someone to officiate a non-religious ceremony for us. Mark sent us a response the same day we inquired his services, and three days later we were sitting down with him discussing the ceremony! We were surprised to learn that Mark has done over 400 weddings. From simple to extravagant, short to long, religious to non-religious... he's seen them all! He guided us through the whole thing-- all we had to do was tell him our vision and what we wanted. His transparency was refreshing, and the contract and pricing were laid out very clearly. After paying a deposit (half of the officiant fee), Mark worked with us in creating our perfect ceremony. He then coordinated and led the rehearsal a day before the wedding. His professionalism was undeniable and we saw that in so many ways, especially when it came time for him to perform the ceremony. He arrived early, coordinated with our DJs, and knew exactly what to do. It was a beautiful ceremony and after wrapping it up, he ensured the wedding license got all the correct signatures. He took care of mailing the license to the state too, and we got it back within two weeks. We felt so well taken care of by Mark, and all of our worries were immediately put at ease by him. Mark Willis was such an awesome addition to our wedding! I grew up Presbyterian in St Louis, and my groom grew up Catholic. Mark worked with us every step of the way to create a ceremony that combined both of our styles and was so flexible when we wanted to add/remove/edit certain parts.
He really shined at the rehearsal. He made everything so smooth, and has done a million weddings so he just gets it - and is so comfortable walking couples through everything (including how to get your marriage license).
Our ceremony was PERFECT and that was largely due to Mark!

I found Simple to Elegant via Wedding Wire and they did not disappoint. Mark was great! From the first Zoom call we had with him we felt confident we found the right officiant. He was very patient and helpful when it came to writing our ceremony. We changed our minds a couple of times about what exactly we wanted, but he always sent a new draft of the ceremony with no hesitations. He was prompt and on time. Mark Willis was our Officiant for our wedding on 7/17/2021. We found him on wedding wire while looking for an Officiant. We interviewed both Mark and another Officiant via zoom. We were very impressed with the thoroughness of Mark's questions that when we got off our other zoom call immediately called Mark back to hire him for our wedding. Mark gave us some ideas for the service and vows based on the service we wanted and emailed them to us. My fiance and I merged ideas together and sent them back to Mark. He worked his magic and then sent us the first draft with other questions. We then sent him the information back and we had our final email for approval. Mark was very kind, thoughtful
& patient during our process as we had a death in our family during our planning.... he offered assistance to us and let us know and feel like we had plenty of time to get all the details worked out. Mark was very patient as the night of rehearsal got started late because we lost our dog 😔 We had 2 great run throughs and the next was wedding day 😊
Mark was on time and hot hooked up with our DJ for his mike and it was off to the races. We were very happy with the way our wedding turned out.

We talked to a couple different officiant companies and they were all nice, but as soon as we got off the phone with Mark from Simple to Elegant, we knew we had found the right one. He was so easy to talk to on the initial call and made us feel at ease. During the process to put our ceremony together Mark started us off with a few different options and then after a couple back and forth's we all settled on our perfect ceremony. On the day of the wedding Mark showed up exactly when he said he would, walked us through the process real quick and then delivered a perfect ceremony, even with a bird going headfirst into a window right next to the alter. We highly recommend Mark from the Simple to Elegant team and can't say thank you enough for marrying us.

Mark Willis officiated our wedding on May 1, 2021. We had a short ceremony, but Mark made it feel so special and personalized. The Perfect Ceremony
Mark did a phenomenal job with our ceremony & big day from start to finish. He was very responsible, flexible, professional, and go with the flow. He was honestly our very favorite vendor choice for the day.
He helped us create a very personalized wedding ceremony and put us at ease on our rehearsal night and wedding day. His voice carried wonderfully and we have received multiple compliments on our ceremony since the wedding.

Mark Willis officiated our wedding this past October 2020 and he did a wonderful job. We originally met with him at a coffee shop months before the wedding, he then sent us a number of script/reading ideas, and from there we worked together to create a personalized ceremony based on our mutual ideas. We met with Mark a few times and 'told our story' over breakfast. We at first wanted our ceremony to be fun and quirky, but after thinking about it, went with a more traditional ceremony. We chose Mark Willis to be our officiant on our wedding day. Not only is Mark a caring, nice man with great ideas he is also very flexible. He met and talked with us whenever we needed him. We worked with Rev. Mark Willis for our June 8th wedding. He made customizing our ceremony so easy and he respected our wishes. He made us feel comfortable during the rehearsal and wedding. Even though we had only met him a few times; he felt like a trusted friend/advisor. Would recommend to anyone!

From the moment we met Doug Willis we knew we had selected the right minister for us. He had a number of ceremonies to select from. Plus he encouraged us to customize a ceremony as much as we wanted. As it turned out we made only a couple of changes to the beautiful ceremony Doug had written. We had so many guests tell us how much they liked our ceremony and minister.

Just What We Wanted
My husband and I are not very active with organized religion and were having trouble finding an officiant since we didn't have a church. Mark Willis at Simple2Elegant Weddings really made us feel as if he had known us from the start and was more than happy to shape our ceremony to our wants and needs. Can't give more of a recommendation for couples that are looking for a ceremony that fits you.

Couldn't have been happier!
Gabe Combs was absolutely awesome! He's so easy going and flexible. This review was a long time coming as he actually married us back in January of 2018 - I've just been so busy but I've kept this in the back of my mind to do because he definitely deserves 5 stars.
My husband and I are easy going so it was priority for us to find an officiant that would just listen to us and offer advice based on what he gathered from our meeting - but not be pushy. As someone who wanted less stress and more cake on my wedding day, I appreciated that approach so much. Gabe is very professional and really understood that we wanted our ceremony to be sweet and quick - but mostly quick as it was cold and snowy.
If you want someone who truly takes the time to mold their officiating to you (and is also willing to stand in the snow for the ceremony and come out on cold icy days for your rehearsal with a smile) - then I full-heartedly recommend Gabe Combs !

Easy Custom-made Ceremony
We chose Mark Willis to officiate our wedding because he was genuine and down-to-earth and made us feel comfortable right away. Mark allowed us to completely customize our wedding ceremony and provided some great suggestions we hadn't even heard of!
Mark was quick to respond via email and made sure to do one last check in before the day of our wedding to ensure everything was ready to go.
The day of our wedding, Mark was on top of it. He was quick, professional, supportive and encouraging. He did a wonderful job leading our ceremony. Definitely recommended!

Mark did a fantastic job of working with my wife and I to create a personal wedding ceremony that both of us and our friends and family really enjoyed. He was quick to respond to all e-mails and answer any questions that we had. He met with us in person on multiple occasions, sent us an outline to use for our wedding program and was gracious enough to stick around for our dinner service to give a blessing. My husband and I decided on hiring Rev. Mark Willis to officiate our wedding. We were so pleased with our decision. We set up several meetings before our big day as well as exchanged numerous emails with him and he always responded right away. The first time we met with him, we knew he would be a perfect fit for us! Any questions we had he always had an answer for us. I didn't hire a wedding coordinator, so Mark ran the show for the rehearsal and day of wedding ceremony. He knew exactly what we wanted and executed with such ease. We received several compliments from guests at our wedding on how much they enjoyed Mark and the words he spoke. He truly made our day so very special! I absolutely recommend hiring Rev. Mark Willis!

My husband found Mark and I’m very grateful that he did. Mark was very helpful in the ceremony planning process and was open to our specific needs to not cater to one specific denomination. We wrote our own vows, but Mark was able to provide a lot of content that we could choose from to craft our own unique ceremony. During the ceremony rehearsal, Mark was focused and made sure to provide directions to the wedding party to help provide a seamless ceremony on the day-of. During our wedding ceremony, Mark was able to keep me calm as I completely blanked on one of my vows. He quickly repeated it for me as if we rehearsed this little hiccup. I would recommend Mark time and time again. Thank you Mark for being a part of our special day!

Mark was wonderful! He sent us sample reading and worked with us to combine pieces from them all into one personal reading for our special day. He was on time and always responded in a timely manner. Rev Gabe Combs was the best officiant we could have asked for. We are pretty laidback people and Gabe was an excellent fit for our style. We did premarital counseling with him as part of our work together and he had some excellent advice and a great ear. He was wonderful at our rehearsal and wedding. Many of our guests paid him compliments about his presentation and affability. We even ran into him at a Christmas event where he was performing and he was so glad to see us!

We had Rev. Gabe Combs as a part of our special day. My husband and I planned a wedding in less than three months. Rev. Gabe Combs met with us right away. On our first meeting, my husband and I knew he would be perfect! He knew exactly what he was talking about and helped ease my wedding day worries about how things would run, especially with our short amount of time. He suggested a wine box ceremony that was perfect for us. He answered all my emails right away to help with any questions I had. Our ceremony ran so smoothly. I got so many compliments about the ceremony. He kept it traditional and even added some humor. I was crying and laughing during the whole ceremony. I couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our special day!

We had Rev Tim Brooks officiate our wedding and what an amazing choice! Tim and his wife, Jan, met with us as often as we needed and hashed out all the details of the ceremony, including names of all family members and wedding party, wedding colors, music timing, etc. We opted for a civil, secular ceremony and Tim was happy to oblige. We weren't exactly sure what we wanted to include, but Tim provided us with numerous examples of civil ceremonies, and we were able to mix and match to formulate a ceremony perfect for us. Tim is an excellent speaker, he projects well into a large room, and his speaking style is impeccable. Many of our guests later commented on how impressed they were with the officiant. Tim's wife, Jan was such a great help during the planning process and the day of the event. She is super detail-oriented and she did all the behind-the-scenes work to ensure the wedding party looked fantastic before walking down the aisle. She straightened ties, ensured necklaces were in the right place, fixed hair, and sent everyone down the aisle at the right time. Tim and Jan truly go above and beyond to make your day special and perfect, and they make quite the team! The ceremony went off without a hitch thanks in large part to Tim and Jan. If you're looking for an easy-to-work-with, experienced, and genuinely kind officiant, look no further than Rev Tim! My husband and I had an incredible experience working with these two. I would recommend Tim to anyone and everyone needing an officiant!

My fiance and I had our original wedding officiant fall through a few months before our wedding. We found Mark Willis, online through reviews. He was very professional, organized, and had a lot of experience with officiating weddings. He reassured us that he had never missed a wedding he agreed to officiate. He helped us get started right away with determining what type of ceremony we were looking for and really worked to make it our own. He also gave us good tips on things that he had seen go well and how to get our marriage license. The wedding ceremony was perfect! It was everything we were looking for. Mark was great to work with and I highly recommend him to future couples!

My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about Tim, and his wife Jan. Tim is a wonderful officiant and really made our ceremony special. We enjoyed meeting with Tim and Jan at the initial meeting and knew right away we wanted Tim to officiate our wedding. He is very knowledgeable about all types of wedding ceremonies and allowed us to make ours exactly how we wanted it. He is very personable and created such a positive and engaging ceremony. His wife Jan, is so sweet and helped with the planning and making sure our rehearsal and ceremony went on without a hitch!

Gabe Combs is the best! Not belonging to a church, we dreaded the process of finding the perfect officiant who would be open to the various ideas we had for our ceremony and who we could get to know on a personal level. We needed guidance about what to include without being overly religious or too traditional. It was important for us to get to know the person who was marrying us and to have he/she feel invested in our relationship. Gabe was not only incredibly open minded to our ceremony ideas, but he offered very affordable “marriage-prep sessions” that were worth every penny and minute of our time. Gabe is kind, funny, professional, and was genuinely interested in getting to know us without pressure or judgment. He was an open book, quickly earning our trust and respect. My husband and I live back and forth between Omaha and KC and being active duty in the Air Force, he deploys quite a bit. Our schedules were always changing but Gabe was flexible and willing to work with us whenever we were available. The sessions were never rushed and we always left feeling positive and hopeful about our upcoming marriage, and always looking forward to next time. Gabe provided us wisdom while asking all the right questions about how we would approach the next chapter of marriage. When it came to creating our perfect ceremony, Gabe provided us with endless examples and ideas—we simply wanted our ceremony to be inclusive and inviting to all of our guests. Gabe helped us find the perfect balance. He provided us with a detailed outline so we knew exactly what to expect. During the rehearsal, he had a commanding enough presence to herd the large wedding party of 25 people but was also warm and welcoming throughout. Our family and friends really enjoyed him. Just as expected, he did a terrific job as our officiant, contributing to our perfect day. We are so thankful we found Gabe and will now consider him a lifelong friend!

My husband and I worked with Rev. Gabe Combs. We were a bit last minute with our wedding and he was able to accommodate greatly within just a few weeks. We were able to customize our ceremony to fit our wants and needs exactly and he was very flexible with our casual style. He gave us many examples of vows and readings he had done in the past which was how we felt comfortable putting together our ceremony. Rev. Tim Brooks was absolutely wonderful to have as an officiant for both of our ceremonies. We decided to have both a full sized ceremony for all our family and friends, as well as a smaller, intimate ceremony for ourselves. The events were several months a part, however, Rev. Tim was more than happy to do both. His services were exactly what they needed to be, and he is extremely professional and experienced. You can not go wrong to chose him, as he can really help your ceremony be exactly what you want it to be. Would definitely work with again!

Mark was wonderful. He sent me many options for ceremonies and readings but I wanted to personalize our ceremony so he met with us a couple times to learn more about us. He was always responsive and helped guide us to do a wine box ceremony. We'd never heard of it but our guests raved afterward about how cool and how special that part of the ceremony was and we agree. Eric and I wrote our own vows so we were basically bawling like babies during the whole ceremony! Mark found a couple of moments to lighten the mood and make us and our guests laugh. We received many compliments about the great job Mark did and how our ceremony was so romantic. I highly recommend Mark. He also never judged us when I said I didn't want a super religious ceremony. He was respectful, professional and fun.

Rev Tim Brooks and his wife are amazing people. Very courteous, very friendly,very professional and very flexible. Everything we were looking for in a wedding officiant. We changed the timings 3 times with them and they were absolutely flexible, even though it was Valentines Day. The ceremony was very well done - everything we had imagined. An amazing couple to have had the honor of knowing. Thank you so much!

We chose to work with Rev. Laura Ann Phillips and she was AMAZING. Everyone is still talking about how intimate and perfect our ceremony was. She was so organized and on top of things. She is so friendly and easy to work with and I literally can't rave about her enough! There were so many people who were already married that said they wanted to go back just so she could be their officiant! She had the whole room crying and was always there for any questions we had. SO AMAZING!!

Mark Willis with Simple2Elegant was AMAZING. Definitely one of the easiest people to work with when planning our wedding. We live far from him so it was a challenge to meet in person, however, Mark made it work! He emailed, called, and kept us in the loop completely.
He provided us with multiple different types of ceremony/reading/vow ideas because we had no idea what to do; he can also give you ideas about where family should sit/what order people should walk in. It was VERY helpful. Once we had and idea of what to do, he took that idea and made our ceremony personal to us and what we wanted. Nothing about what Mark did/read for our wedding sounded scripted or standard. He tailored it to us completely! Mark made our day even more special because he was genuinely interested and really cared about what we wanted. If you are looking for an officiant that is fun, genuine, caring, and willing to work with you to make your date special, Mark Willis is the officiant to pick!

Reverend Gabe (Combs) was outstanding! He helped us plan every detail of the ceremony and was wonderful during the rehearsal and wedding. Gabe is creative, joyful, and will add some humor to your ceremony. My wife and I could not be happier.

Mark is awesome! He made our wedding ceremony so special and tailored it perfectly for us. It was exactly as we wanted. The ceremony he wrote, specifically the vows, were incredibly beautiful and meaningful. So many of our guests commented on what a wonderful job he did. Not only were we happy with the ceremony, but he was great to work with even before the wedding itself. We had an initial meeting with him and felt like he really took the time to get to know us as a couple. After that meeting, we had no doubt we had chosen the right person. We couldn't be more pleased with Mark and are so grateful we had him officiate our ceremony.

Reverend Mark Willis did an amazing job officiating our wedding at Longview Mansion. He was professional, personable, and consoling from the very first time we spoke. My then fiancé and I at the time were not very religious, and Reverend Willis was not pressuring or condescending when we decided to not include religious beliefs within our ceremony. He instead supported and embraced our idea of focusing on “love, family, and togetherness” as our ceremony theme with open arms. Rev. Willis even gave us the idea for both the rose and unity box ceremonies, which guests raved about throughout the night as “extremely unique and very romantic”. Thank you so much for being a part of our big day!

Rev Melissa was wonderful. We wanted a simple ceremony, at home, on very short notice. Rev Melissa was so accommodating. She agreed to come on a Thursday evening, just before a holiday weekend. She provided good guidelines and suggestions for the ceremony, was warm, professional and courteous. Our ceremony was beautiful. We highly recommend Rev Melissa. She is flexible and gracious. Mark was our officiant at our wedding and he did a great job. He was very nice when we first met him and gave us all the information we needed to know. He did not push marriage counseling on us and just gave us exactly what we wanted out of our officiant. He walk us through everything step by step to make sure everything was perfect on our wedding day. Thanks Mark for the great job!

Reverend Tim and his wife were so helpful throughout the wedding planning process. We ultimately chose Reverend Tim due to his sweet manor and how easy it was to get to know him. The rehearsal went well with him being accommodating to our schedule and having a good sense of humor with friends and family. Reverend Tim performed a wonderful ceremony and I am so grateful that we chose him for our wedding.

Reverend Tim was incredible! He let us customize our ceremony and helped us talk through the parts of it. We sat down and met him before our wedding to get a feel for how we were all together to make sure it worked. We didn't have time to do a traditional rehearsal so he made sure to help us out the day of since our family who was in the wedding came from out of town. His wife, Jan helped with the coordinating and the finer details and our day was perfect for us. I would recommend him and his wife to everyone.

We had our officiate back out last minute and mark stepped up and did a great job for us. He met us 2 days before and asked us good questions about our setup what we wanted in terms of length, religiousness etc.. With hat information Mark came up with a beautiful speech and it was exactly what we wanted.

Tim and his wife were the perfect pick for us. With our wedding being non traditional (lesbian couple), we needed to find an officiant who would be completely comfortable marring us. We were very happy with Rev. Tim and the ceremony. He was flexible, prompt, and professional. He made all of the right suggestions to make sure the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. I especially enjoyed that his wife, Jan, was by his side and helped aa a coordinator. I will recommend him to anyone I know needing an officiant.
