  So wonderful to work with!

  Silver Moon did such a beautiful job on my wedding dress alterations (taking the waist in, hemming, and adding cups and a french bustle). I would recommend them to every bride in the Chicago area. They also have a beautiful selection of art deco jewelry - perfection!

  Tailored a BHLDN gown

  Silvermoon tailored my BHLDN gown in a matter of weeks! They did a great job adding some extra boning to the gown, taking the hem up, taking the waist in, and creating a bustle. Plus, they also fixed a few buttons/rhinestones that fell off. The shop itself is gorgeous, so if you need a veil, hair accessory, or shawl/fur, be sure to look here.

  Detailed and Exceptional Work

  Liz and Colleen are amazing at their craft. I was worried about the fit of a strapless wedding dress but they put my anxiety at ease. I had a few extra visits after what we thought was going to be the final appt; and they were more than okay with it. They were patient and understanding and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable in my dress. They will always make sure your comfort is the priority! They are wonderful!! I felt beautiful and most importantly great in my dress on my wedding day!

  Had a lovely experience!

  First things first, I ordered a dress that was a size too small. I have no idea how I fell into such a cliche but alas... enter Liz and team. They were patient, realistic and most importantly made the little dress work for the big day! I couldn't be more grateful! (plus my bustle was so Beautiful!)

  Had my Hayley Paige Remmington gown altered here and it turned out perfecty! I only need two fittings and the pricing was fair. Highly recommend!!

  Getting my BHLDN dress tailored at Silver Moon was a breeze. After receiving outrageously expensive quotes from other Chicago bridal tailors, I researched and found Silver Moon because of their expertise in vintage and vintage inspired (i.e. BHLDN) gowns. The price quote was very reasonable and fittings were extremely efficient and professional. Highly recommend checking out their beautiful shop and services in Wicker Park.

  If you're a bride that loves vintage dresses, you need to go to Silver Moon in Chicago (Wicker Park). Your options will mostly be dating back from the 1950s and earlier, but the possibilities for the dresses are endless thanks to their amazing seamstresses. The ladies there know how to re-work/re-envision a dress like nobodies business. It was such a fun experience. I highly recommend them.

  I knew the second I started planning my wedding that I didn't want a 'typical' wedding dress. I had found a picture in my mind of a vintage dress that had been altered to be backless with lots of layers of tulle, and it was beyond perfect. But as I showed that picture to the sales associates at the bridal stores, each one of them told me that my dream dress didn't exist, and that it would be completely unaffordable even if it did.
  
  Discouraged, I started asking my friends where they found their vintage clothing, and one of them suggested Silver Moon Vintage. The second I walked in, I knew I was in heaven. This store was unlike any of the other three I had visited, and I became more and more excited as I browsed through the unique, vintage dresses. At the other stores, I had not found a single dress I liked, but at Silver Moon I found four. As I tried them on, I talked with Liz, the owner, about my vision and showed her the picture of my dream dress. Not only did she love my idea, but she was eager to make it a reality for me! Once I picked my dress, we began talking about how we could alter it from its original state (a strapless lace and tulle gown from the 50s) into what I had imagined, which included making it backless, altering the front, and adding straps.
  
  The entire experience was perfect. Liz made me feel at ease and special - and since she only takes one client at a time (you need to make an appointment), I never felt rushed or like 'just another bride.' In addition, she is incredibly talented and confident, full of creativity, and eager to use her artistic abilities to make your dream a reality. It was an amazing experience and at the end of the day, cost less than the dresses I had been trying on at David's Bridal. I absolutely loved my dress and felt stunning all day!

  Vintage can be difficult - but Silver Moon is a unique place that makes it very possible. They have a very large (and ever changing - vintage dresses are perforce unique!) selection of dresses from the 1890s-1980s, and they are very picky about what ones they select to sell; they're all high-quality, with very little to no age-related defects (yellowing, staining, etc.). The tailors who work there are excellent at alterations, and will work with you to remake the dress both so that it fits you and is exactly what you want. I got a gorgeous 1950s dupioni silk gown there. I provided some extra contrasting silk for remaking the bodice (I am not as vintage sized as the gown was...) and they worked with me to craft a bodice that showed off my curves very nicely.
