We were aspiring to have a great Baraat and I knew DJ Rishi would deliver after speaking with him for the first time. He is kind, engaging, and interested in the particulars of each event and how he can illuminate those values and ideals. He works with the utmost professionalism, timeliness, and creativity. His knowledge of a broad array of music and his genuine interest in making a party thrive and enjoyable for all came through. His dohl players were exceptional and he is able to be flexible with different venues. Our baraat and dance party was a moment to remember thanks to the support of DJ Rishi.

Super fun fusion wedding!

Rishi and his team were incredible. We wanted a fusion Indian/Chinese/American wedding and Rishi's team did an incredible job, from the baraat (incredible dhol player), music for the multi-cultural ceremony, to the dance floor. Rishi kept the energy high all night, beautiful uplighting, and they were also able to accommodate a projector for a slideshow that my parents wanted to do. Incredible experience overall, 100% would recommend!

Such a fun weekend!

DJ Rushi rocked our wedding! Had a blast on the dance floor both Friday and Saturday nights. The team was able to set up all the necessary sound and light equipment without issue, coordinated directly with the planner/venue, and made sure all the microphones worked flawlessly. The mobile baraat with dholi was a ton of fun! Would recommend.

Thanks Silk Events for a super lit wedding reception!

Silk Events made our wedding reception the talk of the weekend with how wonderfully they hosted our event as MC and DJ. Silk Events also provided amazing uplighting for our venue which is a modern industrial loft style space. Rishi kept our guests dancing for over two hours straight. My husband and I didn’t leave the dance floor the entire night (minus saying goodbye to our parents)! He played a mix of hip-hop, Bollywood, bhangra, pop, and EDM to keep the party bumping. We’ve been gushing over the photos and videos of the dance floor because that was definitely a highlight for us. Our goal was to have a fantastic party to celebrate our marriage and Rishi brought just that to our venue. Several guests came to us after our wedding reception and complimented us on our DJ/MC team. We hope we get to attend another wedding with Silk Events because they kept our event literally and figuratively LIT. Thank you to you and your team, Rishi!! We are so happy with how our event turned out 😊

Incredible dj!

Rishi and his team were excellent. Their professionalism and skill are unparalleled. We were very much looking for someone who could blend both of our cultures throughout our multiple days of ceremonies. After speaking with several friends and family members who had celebrated multicultural weddings in the past few years, we learned of Rishi. He was highly recommended, and we were very pleased with his work. He took the time to get to know us before the wedding and understand what kind of music we liked. There wasn’t a song played that we didn’t love. He brought a level of energy that truly elevated our celebration. There was never a lull in the festivities. He knew exactly how to read the room, playing such a great selection of songs that continuously kept spirits high. He kept the dance floor vivacious all night long, really getting guests of all ages involved. We love a good dance floor and knew we had to have that at our wedding to make it a truly special occasion. He gave that to us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. The memories we made with our friends and family those nights will last with us forever.
As an emcee, he helped our wedding to flow so seamlessly between events. He had his timing down perfectly. The best man and maid of honor speeches, the father daughter dance, the cake cutting, our final song at the end of the night - he transitioned so seamlessly to each event. All our guests knew exactly what was happening and when, so we could all collectively focus on each special moment. He had a charisma and presence to him that really drew everyone in. He engaged wholeheartedly with everyone there, and we really appreciated that. Thank you so much for making our wedding the party we always wanted!!

Amazing party!!!

We just hired Rishi & his team for our wedding reception and they were unbelievable. Within minutes of the dance floor opening they had all 130 guests on the dance floor!!! And it went on for 5 more hours. They were so wonderful and easy to work with, really took the time to understand us as a couple and what our vision was, and executed flawlessly. Rishi did a fantastic job at mixing up the styles to cater to the different ages/generations/cultures and was able to pick up on the energy so well all night. Can't say enough about how wonderful this was!

Spectacular & Electrifying Music!

Rishi and his crew offered an excellent blend of music as per our taste and requirements. Rishi ensured that we had a DHOL player, which was essential for our wedding and I highly recommend having the DHOL ( percussion instrument). It truly spices up the occasion.

In addition to the novelty, we were treated with timely and situational oriented songs and music. Eg: Speech, dance, cake cutting, ceremony, etc.

Overall, it was a fulfilling day with some high octane bollywood music that ensured guest to present their best swashbuckling moves on the dance floor!

We highly recommend Rishi and his team for your event!

Helped make our wedding weekend perfect!

My older sister had a fantastic experience with Silk Events at her wedding a few years ago, and we didn't think it was possible but mine was even better!

Rishi and Silk Events were one of the very best parts of our Sangeet and wedding. Rishi was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond as we postponed our events twice from June 2020 and ultimately August 2021, which was tremendously helpful during a stressful time. He and his team did the music and lighting for our Sangeet on Friday and then the baraat, wedding and reception the following day.

Some highlights:
-- Our guests cannot stop talking about how much they loved the music and dancing both nights — it was nonstop fun and the lighting was excellent. He can really read a crowd and get people on the dance floor.
-- Rishi's dhol player is absolutely incredible...he added so much joy to the baraat and overall day and led a really fun call-and-response with guests in the last moments of the reception!
-- Silk Events seriously knows how to get a baraat going -- the car was a big hit! Definitely order the color bombs for maximum fun and super cool photos and videos.
-- Rishi helped us with songs for the ceremony and entrances and even made a Bollywood mashup with the Succession theme song upon my request which was above and beyond!

For a memorable, helpful, awesome and fun wedding DJ... look no further. Thank you, Rishi, for helping make our long-awaited weekend so terrific and special during a very, very busy wedding season!

Amazing Service!

The Silk DJ team was amazing! We had some very complicated requests and scenarios for our wedding and Silk DJ was able to exceed our expectations. The entire team was very professional and friendly. They were also very prepared and proactive with setup. The music selection was perfect and the DJ did an amazing job reading the room and shifting the playlist accordingly. Phenomenal!

My family absolutely loved working with Rishi and his team. As a blended family with Indian and West Indian backgrounds, music was very important to us. The Perfect DJ Team

Rishi and the Silk Events crew are second to none. We actually hosted two weddings, one in Boston, MA and one in Dayton, OH, and they blew both out of the water. Some reviews from our guests:

Exceeded our Expectations!

I was referred to Rishi and Silk Events by a friend. We needed a DJ for our large wedding that required services for a morning service, an afternoon reception, and an evening afterparty. Exceeded my expectations!

I just had my wedding and I felt compelled to leave a strong review. From the moment I first talked to Rishi I felt Silk events was a perfect fit for us. He understood right away what we were looking for and was very accommodating to our needs. We booked our DJ late in the process but felt that we were in good hands with Silk Events. You will see why people rate them so high.

At the reception we had Reet and Sakshi. They really helped make it a special day. We had an Indian fusion wedding and they worked in an excellent mix of English, Hindi and Spanish songs. They were very well-prepared with our list of songs, and even did an impressive job working in a song for our parents without losing the crowd. They knew I was pickier with the songs so they made sure to ask if they had questions or if they had any recommendations, and the crowd loved their picks. I had multiple people, including one of my guests who is a DJ himself, tell me that Reet and Sakshi were phenomenal. Thank you so much guys!

Top notch DJ & Lighting -- would recommend to everyone!

Exceptional!

We had an exceptional experience with SILK Events for our Sangeet/Garba and wedding ceremony/reception. Sakshi and Virag were very professional and responsive during the weeks leading up to the wedding. We had multiple phone calls to review everything together including timeline, music preferences, pronunciation of names, and overall "vibe" of our wedding weekend. We felt that our input was heard and they certainly delivered! They was skilled at "reading the crowd". The dance floor stayed filled the ENTIRE time for both our Sangeet/Garba and wedding reception nights. They found a perfect balance of both Bollywood and American music that kept all of our guests dancing. It was awesome to have Sudeep playing the dhol at the baarat and reception-- he even let our guests give it a try! We would highly recommend SILK Events!

Great pair! Danced all night long!

I hired DJ Rushi and Sakshi as my DJ/MC for my wedding and reception! Exceptional pair! They had EVERYONE on the dance floor! We had a Sri Lankan/Greek wedding and they played the perfect mix of Tamil, Greek, top hits. and everyone’s favorite throwbacks. I received so many compliments on how amazing they were and how their playlist was like no other! They followed my recommendations to a T and added their own song mix as well! The uplighting for the wedding and reception were beautiful! The lighting added so much to the space and tied in my whole vision! We also got a monogram designed with our names and elephants which I loved! They absolutely crushed it and I couldn’t be happier with their services! Highly recommend!

We could not be happier with the service that Rishi and his team provided on our wedding day. With so many decisions left unmade, we were worried about how the day would go. Rishi not only did a great job with the general audio and lighting of the event, he went above and beyond when it came to timing and making announcements so that the day went smoothly and without chaos. Couldn't have asked for a better DJ/MC pair!

My partner and I LOVE to dance, so music was one of the most important elements of the wedding for us. We have very different tastes in music and Sakshi made the perfect playlists to suit both of us AND get all our guests up and dancing. It was a dream come true. Sakshi and Virag were so responsive to what I wanted early in the process. They did exactly what we asked, and weighed in to help us improve on our plan. They did an incredible job using the playlist we gave them to come up with even more great songs and Sakshi did a fantastic job mixing and transitioning between songs. Virag gently guided our guests in between the events, so we didn't have to manage everything. They did a wonderful job, and we are so glad we chose them! They made the whole event! Thank you!!!

Low-key and professional for hybrid Western-Indian wedding

DJ Reet was really nice to talk to on the phone in advance and respectful of our unusual needs. He professionally managed a kind of odd venue set-up (different audio set-ups in different locations for ceremony, dinner, cocktails, and dancing!) and was open to the idea that we wanted a mix of Indian music and western music but wanted to avoid current top-twenty stuff. Both DJ Reet and DJ Sai were friendly and professional during the event and I felt confident knowing they were handling the music.

Amazing Wedding DJ!

We hired Rishi of SILK Events for DJ and Lighting services for our wedding ceremony and reception in Cambridge, MA. Rishi was both professional and personable throughout the entire process - taking the time to understand what we wanted for our big day while offering his expertise where appropriate. Rishi was fantastic in terms of creating a playlist that appealed to our mixed Indian/American crowd and had our guests dancing all night! He was a great MC throughout, especially when rain caused a minor delay, he kept the guests informed and engaged, ensuring that our ceremony proceeded as planned. The lighting was also beautiful and really enhanced our reception decor. Overall, we loved working with Rishi and would highly recommend him and the SILK Events team. Also recommend hiring his wife, Shruti of LoveDecor, for decor! Having them as a team was awesome.

Wedding and Reception DJ- high energy and super fun evening!

Cannot thank Viraj and Sakshi enough for an unforgettable wedding! Sakshi kept the energy going for 2+ hours and the dance floor was never empty! The bride and groom never left the dance floor! Even before the reception started, many guests complimented Sakshi playing music and how he is able to play both Bollywood and American Top 40 so well. He did such an amazing job in reading the crowd and altering the music accordingly. All the guests were so impressed by him and we all had a fantastic night because Sakshi kept that energy alive!

Above and Beyond!

My entire wedding had a rock theme so Rishi and Rushi had to find a way to combine rock music, 90s throwbacks, classic wedding songs, plus bollywood into one night and oh, boy did Rushi deliver! Everyone was dancing the entire night - in fact, I don't think I left the dance floor once. With that said, the MC was amazing keeping everyone on track, etc. Rushi did a great job and you can clearly tell this is their industry as they knew exactly how to handle last minute changes and did it all so seamlessly and with a smile. Cannot recommend them anymore!!

Fantastic DJ - Highly, highly recommend Rishi!

We loved having Rishi and Silk Events as the DJ and lights for our wedding! He was one of our favorite, if not favorite vendor to work with. He was very professional, charming, creative, thoughtful and a great listener. He gave us an affordable package as well that was quite reasonable. As a same-sex couple getting married in a traditional Indian/Hindu wedding, but Rishi put as ease. He told us he had done gay weddings before, and honestly they are the same as straight weddings from a music/lights perspective. Most importantly, his dance music was AWESOME and our friends and family had the most epic time dancing to Bollywood and bhangra music from his playlist. I was so pleased!! He also did our background music beautifully for our wedding ceremony, cocktail reception and the dinner/cake cutting. Everything was just perfect! Very glad we went with Rishi and can't recommend him and his team highly enough. The uplighting he did was beautiful for Taj Boston and it gave us a really elegant and lovely look for our reception.

We had an amazing experience working with both Rishi and Sakshi for our reception! Both were extremely responsive during the process and gave us a great deal for the services we requested. We were able to borrow speakers for a more intimate event. We were even given an MC at pretty much the last minute and he also did great keeping the event organized. Rishi and the entire Silk Events team did a fantastic job with the music mixes, AV setup. MC'ing and lighting for all of our wedding events. We had an multicultural Indian-American wedding and we wanted a DJ who could cater to our varied tastes in music as well as appeal universally to Indian and American guests. Rishi and his team did exactly that for all of our events. Rishi was generous and flexible with his time in the lead-up to the wedding, listened carefully to our various requests and gave insightful and straightforward recommendations. His emceeing skills were great, he was very professional and responsive on email through the entire process. Rishi called us the day before to reassure us and go through our entire lineup to make sure no detail was missed. We couldn't be happier with Silk Events and highly recommend their services!

Rishi and his wife are an amazing team! While we only used them for their DJ/Lighting/Music services, the overall experience was great. Rishi was really helpful and familiar with DJing/MCing an interfaith wedding. From executing a Baraat with a great dhol player, to keeping everyone on the dance floor all night long and kicking off a hora--he kept the energy and vibe at 100%. Our families loved him, and several of our relatives even got his contact information at the end of the event to book him for their own weddings!

We hired Reet to play dhol for my husband’s entrance at the Mehndi. He did an amazing job. I requested that he hype the crowd up and he did just that :) Everyone was hyped and he brought such a positive energy to the entrance. Upon entering the venue, I asked him to play the dhol to a certain song and he did such an amazing job! It was on beat and people were dancing!! Guests told me he brought such an amazing energy to the entrance and they were very impressed by him! I later found that this was his first wedding gig! We decided to work with SILK Events for our Indian wedding in downtown Boston after having seen
them operate at other local events, and we were delighted with their performance. Rishi brings a personal
touch to his interactions with clients; he was very flexible in setting up our phone meetings leading up to
the big day in a way that was convenient for our schedule. As our needs shifted over the course of
wedding planning, Rishi was able to flexibly update our initial contract to include multiple projectors and
uplighting. He was very thorough in putting together a set list that fit our diverse musical tastes, which he
took the time to understand in our planning meetings. We had several performances on the day of the
wedding including speeches, songs, and dances – each with a specific background track – and Rishi
managed the entire program without a hitch. We requested multiple styles of music during different
periods ranging from classic Bollywood to modern Top 40, and Rishi delivered on all counts. He has a
tremendous ability to transition seamlessly between Indian and American music on the dance floor, which
was a huge hit with our guests. He was professional and a pleasure to work with at all stages of the
process. In addition, we were able to work with Shruti at LoveDECOR for decoration during the wedding
and the two of them were able to work together to provide a discount on a joint contract.

Silk Events couldn't have been more professional, reliable, and supportive while working through our wedding events. From our first conversation until the very last minutes of our after party, DJ Rishi and his group were incredibly thoughtful and treated us like family. From the onset, they continuously asked probing questions and gave great feedback and suggestions on various aspects of our wedding, in addition to music and lighting alone. Throughout our events, not only were they timely, they also assisted us in keeping everything right on track, and avoid any unexpected delays. There were moments throughout when we had gaps in communication between our family, and yet DJ Rishi was able to think on the fly and always keep the flow of our events going, and knew the right songs to play if we veered from the plans. They did a terrific job reading the audience and maintaining a flow that left every guest feeling involved. It takes talent to adjust the music to the crowd on the spot, rather than just play music they think would impress the guests. I respect and appreciate the experience this team has, and the effort they put in to ensuring quality events. They made our wedding events efficient and fun, therefore positively memorable. I highly recommend them and would eagerly hire them again for future events.

SILK EVENTS DJed our full day Indian/Italian wedding events. Rishi's professionalism and execution on our wedding day was more than we could have ever asked for. He had everyone dancing during the Baraat and both families dancing together all night during the wedding reception! His was responsive throughout the whole booking and planning process and we would recommend SILK EVENTS to anyone who is planning an event of any kind!

Our DJ Rishi and our Dholi Sudeep were both incredible! Three weeks after our wedding, my friends are still talking about them.

Our Boston based Turkish-Indian wedding party included 30 Turks, 20 Americans, 12 Indians, and 15 from other nations. So in principle we wanted a DJ who could please American, Indian, and Turkish guests. But we did not do an extensive DJ search or give Rishi a lot of pointers. I sent him a not-well-organized list of Turkish songs 4 days before the party; we talked on the phone twice going over simple logistics. With the effort we had put into it, we thought we would get a regular fun bollywood party, which we would have been ok with.

We got so much more. It was hard to believe Rishi did not know his Turkish music until few days before the party. He knew when to play which song from any background, and he was able to transition from Indian to Turkish to American incredibly smoothly. From the moment the party started till the end of the night, the dancing did not stop. On top of being an amazing DJ, he was also very accomodating to the requests the guests made at random intervals. He and his set up were very professional in terms of any criteria I can think of, timeliness, sound system, lights, MCing. I can't thank or recommend Rishi enough.

And Sudeep. He is a very skillful dhol player and party intensifier. He was able to join any Turkish, Indian, American song, and knew exactly when to jump in. We are very glad we decided to have a Dholi, and are extra thankful that he chose to keep on partying with us through the night even though we had hired him for an hour of his time.

Rishi was really great to work with. I gave him a sense of our background, what we were thinking on music and lighting, and he knew pretty much exactly what we wanted.

Sakshi was our DJ and Reet helped him with lighting, announcements, and dhol. It was all awesome. Crowd loved it and they worked with us to get all the details right.

Also really convenient that he works directly with Shruti for decor - everything was synced up and made it painless the day of.

Not only were they amazing during the weekend but Rishi was such a pleasure to work with leading up to the wedding. So nice, so accommodating and fun to work with!

Rishi and his team were definitely the best part of our wedding. We owe so much to them for making our wedding weekend so fun for all our guests and for ourselves!

We were so behind in wedding planning in the final month leading up to the weekend that we just went to Rishi and said hey, can you just pick out all the songs for us walking down the aisle for the ceremony and you have free range of options for music selection for both the sangeet, baraat and wedding reception. He even MC'd for our reception too!

He did amazingly and we could not be more happy with how things turned out. Everyone, and I mean everyone, loved the music at all parts of the weekend. We had all our guests dancing. Even my husband's 85 year old grandma was on the floor way past her bedtime! Rishi and his team even surprised us with having the dhol out for the reception and let our guests drum on it too.

Easiest decision we've ever made. You'd be silly if you didn't move forward with them for your wedding.

Rishi was awesome! Great music selection and definitely knew how to read the room to keep eveyone happy and dancing! We had him DJ our Sangeet and Wedding reception and he crushed it both nights. He even broke out the dhol and played us off to finish up the night. Would 110% recommend him for any event!

Rishi and his team were unbelievable for our wedding. We had received a recommendation for Silk Events prior to our wedding and I don't think we could have made a better choice.

From the first call we had, we felt at ease and knew we would be taken care of. We only had a few points about how we wanted the night to go, and Rishi took care of the rest. From an amazing blend of background music, Hindi music, and American music, Rishi knew exactly how to work the crowd, bring the energy levels, and keep people on the dance floor all night.

He also handled several of our last minute changes with ease and even met with us separately to help with some details of our ceremony (mobile speaker, dhol, etc.) that we needed handled.

I can't speak highly enough of Rishi and the team. This is one decision that really made our weekend a success.

Rishi and his team are amazing! We could not be more happy with how things turned out on our wedding day thanks to them. They are also very reasonably priced - you really can't go wrong with Silk Events!

From the very beginning Rishi was very communicative and answered all of our questions. He also came to a meeting with the hotel to help us make decisions for the big day.

Rishi had already been signed up for another wedding on our day, but he paired us with Rushi, who was absolutely fantastic. We wanted a blend of Indian and American music, and we didn't give him a lot of direction about what kind of songs we wanted. Even still, I loved every single song he played. I also had people come up to me and comment how fantastic the DJ was, and they counted him among the best they've heard! I definitely agree.

I highly recommend Silk Events for your wedding/ special occasion. They are without a doubt the best.

DJ Rishi and Silk Events added so much fun to our daughter's wedding reception at the State Room - April 2018.
The coordination of the introductions, the music during the performances and the dance time were perfect. We could not have asked for more. It was vibrant without being loud. Silk Events and the team Rishi, Navin, Amit, Rushin were absolutely amazing. If you want the kind of wedding or event where everyone is complimenting the music afterwards - go with these guys. They had our wedding party dancing for 7 hours straight with a mix of indian and western!

Rishi made our night come alive - he brought so much energy and love to our baraat, the dhol-playing, and the music. DJ Shakshi and his team was incredible. We had planned our wedding in Quincy, MA while residing in Tucson, Arizona so we had not meet the DJ team prior to our wedding. They were the best part of our event and recommend them without hesitation. Our wedding was a fusion of American and Indian cultures and let music represented both sides very well and kept the crowd going on the dance floor till the very end. Absolutely LOVED DJ Rishi and his team! He was so friendly and accommodating from the beginning to end, one of the easiest vendors to work with! :) From the baraat to the dance floor, he had everyone on their feet dancing and even went above and beyond to keep the reception party going despite pack up. You should hire him if you want someone who can set perfect lighting, play the right song at the right time, and have amazing dholi skills :) Our guests still talk about his musical timing and how fun the baraat was so definitely a GO!

Rishi and Rushi at Silk events were AMAZING. Rishi, the owner, was great to work with -- responsive, very flexible and adaptable to our complicated wedding schedule and needs, and affordable. Rushi was a GREAT DJ and MC the day of our wedding. He took the time to know our schedule, learn and verify the pronunciation of all the wedding party's names, and was on point throughout the night. As far as DJ-ing -- he was amazing. Many of our guests told us he was the best DJ they've ever had at a wedding. Music was spot on, transitions were seamless, and he adapted the music to what people liked to keep the dance floor going all evening. I could not recommend them more highly.

Rishi and his team were so incredible to work with for our Nov. 12th wedding. We booked with him almost 1.5 years in advance and he was responsive and helpful from day one. We trusted him to make all of the decisions regarding music and we are so happy that we did. He offered us great packages for lighting and a dhol player which really helped make our vision for our wedding a reality. His dhol player was awesome and loved by all of the guests, really hyped up people to get on the dance floor. Rishi was flexible and easy going when things got chaotic and disorganized during our Sangeet. He made sure no one knew and did an excellent job MCing. He is great at knowing what the crowd wants as well. We were also lucky to book Rishi's wife for decor who is also absolutely incredible and has such wonderful taste. I highly suggest booking them as a duo to make your wedding planning that much easier.

We were so thankful to Rishi and Silk Events for completely managing and taking our minds of the entire DJing and emceeing components. From all the planning before and through the big day, Rishi was extremely professional and always one step ahead of us. This was the one part of the wedding that we did not have to worry about because Rishi did such a great job. It went absolutely perfectly, and it all felt completely effortless and fun -- as it should!

Rishi listened to what we wanted and made it happen. For example, as the bride, I had dreamed of walking into the ceremony to a particular Queen song for years and needed to have an appropriate version of "here comes the bride" sequence into it to make it all work. Rishi and Silk Events made this dream come true flawlessly! Sound levels were just right throughout the day, never overbearing, and we noticed how the team faded in and out appropriately during parts of the wedding ceremony to really "narrate" what was going on for the audience.

Rishi organized our wedding party to walk into the evening reception and introduced everyone with perfect pronunciation of names (and there were some really challenging ones!). He set a great tone for our evening reception. We and our guests had a great time dancing at the end of it all. The quality of the DJing was far better than most clubs -- it was professional, balanced, and FUN. Silk Events got every one of the songs I had requested in there, did an excellent job mixing both Western and Bollywood hits.

We would also highly recommend going with Silk Events for your lighting too. We asked Rishi to create an amber soft uplighting effect that mimicked evening candlelight. It was GORGEOUS.

If you believe that the quality of the sound and the execution of your wedding audio program matter, then you should definitely have Rishi and Silk Events manage it for your wedding day! Thank you, Rishi and Silk Events for making our wedding a magical event!

There are only two words I can use to describe SILK Events: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! May of 2016, I had a three day Indian wedding in Massachusetts, I had researched various DJ-ing services in the area and I am so glad that at the end of the day...I chose SILK Events. Throughout the process, Rishi was always 100% professional and committed. He constantly made time to answer our phone calls, meet us personally to discuss details and he is by far, the fastest email replier ever. Rishi was there whenever we needed him, that extra mile he was always willing to go stuck with me, and made me realize that we hired the correct team for the job. Not to mention, him and Jay reviewed my 3 day itineraries to the smallest detail to make sure everything on each day went smooth and as planned. I hired SILK Events for their DJ services, lighting, projectors and everything was exceptional, Rishi handled Day 1 of my wedding and Jay handled Days 2 & 3. Rishi and his team did such a wonderful job during our wedding weekend. He DJed, did uplighting, provided a custom monogram, and also played the dhol for the baraat. Leading up to the wedding, I emailed and chatted with Rishi numerous times to make sure we were on the same page in terms of what we wanted and expected. He was always 100% professional and clear. He delivered on every service. In fact, not once did I or anyone in my family have to go up to the DJ booth and ask him to change anything during the reception. Rishi and the Silk Events team were professional through and through. I'm a music junkie and was very particular about the music for the wedding and Rishi and his crew did a fantastic job! They absolutely rocked it with the lighting and music. We set a very high bar for our entertainment. Music is our passion. It was a cornerstone to our reception - was included in every little thing we did throughout including introductions, speeches, dance routines, funny videos, and of course late night partying and dancing. I can't tell you how many meetings and hours Rishi and I spent at my apartment and at his apartment going through exactly what we wanted. Every little detail was covered. We even timed a number of different things like what beat would drop when we got to the bottom of the stairs in our introduction, at exactly what time to start music to coordinate to fireworks, the order of the songs to play for the crazy dance hour...it was all done like a true professional.

We can't say enough about how engaged and easily accessible Rishi was, how nice it was to work with him, how enjoyable his positive can-do attitude was thoughout our entire experience. This is not the last time Rishi and my wife and I will party together, no doubt!

I can’t say enough great things about Silk Events and the work that Rishi and his team does! We initially found Rishi while looking for a DJ for both our Indian and American wedding and chose him for his great personality and energy. After seeing the amazing pictures of he and his wife’s lighting and decor setups of other weddings, we decided to use their decor services (loveDECOR) as well! Silk Events was detail oriented throughout the entire process and had no problem sitting down with us for hours at a time to make sure they got everything right for our complex wedding. They were able to not only listen to our ideas, but expand upon them and make our wedding more fun than we could have imagined. Silk Events was a part of every bit of our day; from the Baraat where Rishi managed to get an awesome party going at 9:30 in the morning, to music and microphones for both the Indian and American ceremonies and ending with the reception. We’ve had multiple people tell us that our reception was the most fun that they had ever been to and I give Silk Events a lot of credit for that. The music selection, lighting, and overall atmosphere that they created was incredible and we will never forget it!

He was our DJ for all our events, garba, wedding and reception, and did an awesome job at it. He kept our mixed Indian-American crowd dancing all night long. Couldn't be happier we chose him!!

I also want to mention, he is an incredible Dhol player!! He provided lighting for both our wedding ceremony and reception and both looked AMAZING!

Rishi is simply professional, friendly, responsive, well prepared and will have your party dancing all night!

We highly recommend DJ Rishi. He's a smart guy and did a great job. Our venue didn't have any audio equipment or speakers-- but we explained what we wanted to Rishi, and he not only set everything up but he provided everything himself, from microphones, to speakers, to extension cords. Our venue was challenging - we wanted the ceremony at the gazebo and need microphones for that, we needed microphones and speakers in the tent during the reception dinner, and we wanted music and lighting for dancing in the ballroom after dinner. he came and set everything up.

so that alone was worth every penny, but on top of everything else his music was great - he played a good mix of hindi dance and pop, along with songs that we requested.

he was even very patient with our disorganization. can't recommend him enough!

Rishi did an amazing job with our events! He was extremely helpful and was able to work with us with last minute changes. He played a majority of the songs I wanted, and probably would have played every one if we has more time. He was upbeat and entertaining as the MC for the night. He did a beautiful job with the lighting and my animated monogram was so unique! The pattern lighting was spot on and I was completely satisfied with his services! Rishi and the Silk Events team were awesome! We had a mixed American and Indian wedding at the Liberty Hotel in downtown Boston. Our ceremony was outside in the courtyard, and Rishi's equipment provided loud and crystal clear music for our wedding party's entrance. One main reason we went with Silk Events as our DJ was because we saw that Rishi can play the dhol (Indian drum). I'm not exaggerating when I say that I still get chills thinking back on how amazing it sounded when the music faded and Rishi started pounding the drum to announce our entrance!

We can't say enough good things about our reception (in the Liberty ballroom). Silk Events provided some of the best uplighting that we've ever seen, and Rishi's performance that night was off the chain - he kept our guests pumped up as we changed; he introduced our family members like a champ; even before the wedding night, he mixed several songs for us and our family members to dance to; I LOVED that he took our requests and interacted with the guests, but also didn't need any direction at all. They know what they are doing: he had a constant stream of excellent music - American and Bollywood.

Every single guest danced from the beginning of the night until they kicked us out ;) Since the wedding, we've gotten so many messages telling us that it was the most fun they'd had in years, and I know that a large part of that was due to the excellent services provided by Rishi and Silk Events. Rishi and his team come with our highest recommendation!

Dj Rishi is an absolute pleasure to work with. From our very first interaction, I was impressed with his professionalism and I knew he would go above and beyond my expectations to ensure everyone has a great time at the reception. I had a wonderful experience with Rishi Bawa and Silk Events! I had a fusion (Indian-American) wedding and he did an absolutely fantastic job of blending music and selecting songs that all my guests could enjoy.
Rishi was a pleasure to work with - he was always friendly and helpful and spent lots of time with me answering questions and brainstorming ways to make my wedding as fun and special as possible. He was flexible with scheduling meetings and was very organized. When I made changes to my program and ceremony site relatively late in the game, he helped me figure out how to make it all work.
He had a wide range of services to choose among. He is an incredible dhol player! My husband LOVED having the dhol music at the baraat - it contributed so much to the energy and excitement of the event. The music at the ceremony was perfect - tasteful and appropriate. The music at the cocktail hour and reception was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Every song was a favorite. Rishi did a great job of gauging the audience and striking the right balance with the music. The dance floor was packed the entire night. I got so many compliments about how much fun the reception was - several of my engaged friends asked me for Rishi's contact number to book him for their own weddings. I really can't say enough about Rishi and Silk Events. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!

My wedding was on a bit of a fast track (all wedding events including 2 wedding receptions was all planned with in 6 months). If I had more time I would have been more thorough and detailed, but for my time constraint and the essentials i wanted, Rishi did it and was awesome. He was flexible during planning and understood both my concerns, my parents and my husbands. Talking at 10 oclock at night after work and emailing at 1 AM night before my wedding. lol. I'm not sure but I don't think alot of people do that. He is down to earth person so you can really tell him any concerns and I felt like he was happy to help but at same time professional. My husband and his family is not indian, so Rishi was helpful is getting them going for bharat which was big concern of mine. Bharat ended up being fantastic. His prices were within our budget which is always great.

Rishi was our DJ and he also provided lightening to decorate our wedding reception. The up lightening he provided looked amazing and everyone loved it. Rishi was very approachable, professional, easy to talk to and very fun DJ. He provided us with good ideas about organizing the schedule of the event. He helped us with our questions and gave us great suggestions that helped make our event night even more special. We had about 8 performances along with many speeches which Rishi and his team made sure that everything went smoothly. He played great music throughout the night and kept the party going. His choice of music was excellent as he played lots of old Bollywood music as well as new ones. To this day, my friends and family can't stop talking about how great he was and everyone was on the dance floor the entire evening. My husband and I would highly recommend Rishi and his team to anyone who wants to host a party where they want all of their guests up and dancing all night long! Thanks Rishi and the team :)

From the beginning, Rishi was approachable, flexible, respectful, and easy to deal with. He was really helpful as we chose songs to play during various parts of the event and when we chose our uplighting colors. Rishi was also great about respecting any requests we had about how we wanted the wedding to look. During the event, he delivered everything he promised and was punctual. In the ceremony, he did a great job of playing appropriate music while still respecting the priest when something important was going on in the ceremony. For the reception, the uplighting looked amazing and he played great music that kept the party going an hour past its planned end time -- and the dance floor was packed throughout the night! Everyone loved the energy that he brought and the environment he created. We would definitely recommend Rishi to other friends planning a wedding or a party.

Rishi did a wonderful job at our wedding and we would highly recommend him for any future events. He DJed for our Mehndi event as well as our wedding and reception. At both the Mehndi and the reception, the guests would not leave the dance floor. Moreover, he is great to work with -- very professional, flexible, and full of great ideas but not too imposing. His lighting services added a great touch to our reception at the Museum of Science in Boston as well.

Our wedding was a blast and it was all thanks to Rishi and his amazing DJ skills! He brought ALL our guests to the dance floor and kept them there until the very end of the night. I have been to several weddings and its always a struggle to (a) get people onto the dance floor and (b) keep a critical mass there. However, our wedding completely blew it out of the water with regards to this! Moreover, Rishi provided excellent lighting for a very large venue. He was a pleasure to work with -- very flexible, accommodating and full of good ideas. My husband and I are fans, and would highly recommend him for any future events.

Rishi and Jay DJ-ed our Indian wedding last year. We were very impressed with their responsiveness, professionalism, and attention to details from our initial interaction. Having reliable vendors is so important and in comparison to a vendor or two we used who didn't respond to emails/ phone calls immediately - you become even more grateful for the ones that do. Also, they are fun! We are a mixed ethnicity couple and they played a range of music to appeal to the older Indian aunties and uncles and all of our friends from different backgrounds. DJ RSB is phenomenal. I would recommend him to anyone anywhere in a heartbeat. From the first introductory e-mail to the aftermath of our engagement ceremony, he is remained attentive and professional. I had the opportunity to work with him in many different capacities from college functions to my own engagement ceremony. I feel that uplighting creates the entire atmosphere of an event and because of that, I reached out to Jay/Rishi for uplighting for a high school graduation party. I knew that they've performed this service at numerous weddings/venues in the past, and for that reason, I felt confident that they would do a great job for us too. In addition to needing lights, they were able to recommend some good DJ's in the Boston area within a short period of time. If for any reason I wasn't able to get ahold of Rishi, Jay was available for any concerns I had.

I've worked with Jay several times before, including a 25th Anniversary party and a Sweet 16 party. When coordinating big events like so, it's easy for things to slip your mind of how else you want to make your events more memorable. But Jay was very helpful in this manner. He reminded me of any other "props" (projector/screen/microphones/dance floor) I might have needed for my event. He didn't just respond to my initial request for DJ'ing. He added value to his services, by making sure that all of the entertainment was taken care of! His efforts for enhancing my events each time are among the main reasons why I brought my business to him for the 3rd time in 4 years.

I was recommended to work with Jay Thakrar for his DJ services for my wedding weekend by a friend and I’m glad I went with him! He provided services for my Sangeet, Wedding, Cocktail Hour and Reception, essentially the whole weekend!
He brought everything he needed with him including wireless mics, speakers, LED’s and the music itself. He’s got some great music and he was able to play exactly the kind of music we had requested.

During the planning process he was entirely professional and timely, something I appreciated far more as a lot of other vendors seemed to take a very casual approach to something that meant quite a bit to me and my then fiancé. He also took the time to meet us at the venue to check out the hall, discuss where lighting would be, etc.

Wherever he was needed, he stepped up to take it on and did a very thorough job. While the wedding weekend rolled on, everything went according to plan. In fact I didn’t even realize some of the most incredible elements of the wedding till the photos and videos came out. When I saw the video of everyone on the dance floor, my jaw dropped. Uncles aunties and kids alike were ALL out on the dance floor. The LED lights were blazing and my reception was quickly made the event of the year for all our guests.
I’d attribute a big part of the wedding weekends’ success to Jay and his services, he brought the party to life and I’d recommend him to any of my friends getting married!

Selecting our DJ was one of the hardest parts of the planning process. This is something both of us really wanted to get right considering our crowd. Rajan and Sakshi made our reception the perfect blend of romantic and party! We requested that a lot of south Indian songs be put in the mix as we are both from Kerala (South India) and they were able to come up with the perfect fusion of top 40 American hits, south Indian and Bollywood music – a little something for everybody. Our timeline was way out of order than what was planned but these guys ran with it and no one in the crowd noticed anything was wrong . In fact, we got so many compliments about our DJ/MC! The lighting and special touches were perfect and transformed an otherwise “corporate looking” ballroom to a romantic, elegant set up (coupled up with Love Décor’s team).

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with SILK events. From the very beginning, brainstorming and planning with the owner – Rishi, we always felt good vibes and felt very comfortable bouncing ideas with him. He was always responsive and followed up to everything we discussed. Their team is professional, but still very personable. They go from being “just vendors” to friends who actually want to make sure your wedding is a blast. Shop around if you must, but know that you’re ultimately going to get the best deal and product from SILK events.

Silk Events DJ + Lighting made The Sumaira Foundation for NMO's 3rd Annual Gala a magical evening. The music was energetic, the dhol that Rishi and Reet had with them was incredibly on theme, and everyone had an amazing time dancing. Our Bollywood evening would not have been complete without the help of Silk. If you are looking for a DJ that will provide your guests with a night full of dancing, music, and fun you will not be disappointed.

Rishi and Jay are a dynamic duo! My husband and I were very fortunate to have them as a team for our wedding. They provided DJ services for our mehndi/sangeet party and for our wedding/reception. They also did some awesome lighting and designed a custom gobo for us to be projected in the ballroom. Rishi is an amazingly talented dhol player who added tremendous effect to the baraat as well as the dancing at the reception. Everyone loved it! He and Jay even coordinated a performance of professional dancers for our guests. Jay is efficient and responsive - he has endless ideas and took all my worries away, especially as stress set in during the last few weeks of wedding planning. Rishi and his team were great to work with! Finding a great DJ was one of the most important vendors for us. We wanted to make sure our family /friends had a great night and that is exactly what happened. The most compliments we received for our was that the DJ was great! RIshi had a prep call with us prior to the wedding and he goes through each and every detail of the wedding weekend. He knew exactly what we wanted. Rishi was the DJ/MC for the reception and Rajan played the dhol. They both really got the crowd going. Overall it was all awesome and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! Rishi was amazing! My husband and I were looking for someone with high energy and the ability to keep everyone dancing. Rishi met all of our goals from the barat to the entrances to the reception. He was really easy to work with in picking out songs and making sure they blended. Rishi and Shruti both made it very easy and stressfree to wedding plan! They were one of the few vendors we didn't have any major issues with and knew exactly what to expect.

Rishi did the lighting, DJ/dhol and MC services for my wedding in July 2015. We loved how flexible and easy to work with Rishi was. In addition, he was very responsive and got back to us immediately- which isn't always the case with vendors!

The wedding event was amazing and had everyone talking about Rishi's services for months and months! The dhol and music at the baraat was high energy, the music had everyone going crazy on the dance floor, the lighting was gorgeous and so were the monograms on the wall, and the MCing set the mood just right.

I hired Rishi and Silk Events for our wedding in May 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge. Rishi and his team did a phenomenal job and we could not have been more pleased! He did an amazing job with LEDs and spotlights that accentuated and highlighted the 180 degree view of the Charles and Boston skyline beautifully, in a way that I would have never imagined! He also DJ'd our event, which included several dance/singing performances. He went above and beyond in that he made several mixes for some of the performances. We traded a huge number of emails and many painstaking phone conversations, in order to get the timings exactly right!
For the Baraat, Rishi supplied a van with speakers and played Dhol throughout. The Baraat was amazing! My husband danced up a storm with his family and friends. The dhol complemented the music perfectly and added that extra energy which is needed for a Baraat.
For the reception, at the last minute we decided the lighting I had originally decided on would probably clash with the decor. I entrusted Rishi with the task of selecting a new lighting pattern and color, and the results could not have been any better! He also designed a custom monogram for us which looked awesome!
Rishi also DJ'd the reception and he did a great job announcing family and bridal party, with his high energy, clear and concise announcing voice! Everyone loved the music he played as well, which was a good mix of Bollywood and American music. The whole night was high-energy and people did not leave the dance floor. My one critique would be in the future to make sure that he goes through a couple's playlist (if they have provided one) so that he is certain about which songs they absolutely want played at some point during the night.
I would not recommend anyone else but Silk Events. Rishi is an amazing guy to work with- he is responsive, innovative, and easygoing. He will deliver nothing but the best results and make sure that you are more than happy!

Rishi was a terrific DJ and dhol player. He ensured that the event went smoothly, he was enthusiastic, and really knew how to get the crowd in a festive mood. All our guests had terrific feedback regarding his music.

Great for Engagement events!

My fiance and I had a pretty large engagement event (250+ ppl) in July 2024 in MA. Rishi and the team were awesome and super accommodating. We first connected with them about 4 months before the event and did more progressively closer to the date of the event. We gave them our song and lighting preferences and they ran with it. The uplighting was tailored to be as close to our lavender/pink pastel theme, and they even threw in some projectors to put our logo on the wall. The DJ, Dr. J (Jaskarn Singh), was fantastic. He did a great job with the religious portion and played the appropriate music with our provided timestamps. The dance floor was jumping after the cake cutting. He played all the bangers we asked for and more, with awesome remixes thrown in. We literally could not stop dancing! Overall, highly recommend this group to take your event to the next level.

Terrific Job by DJ Rajan

Rajan was our DJ and he was TERRIFIC! We asked him to bring high energy to the reception and he certainly did. It was electric from the get-go. He was a pleasure to work with, from the first time we chatted with him and all the way through the wedding weekend. Rajan kept us on schedule, but was also flexible when small changes to the schedule were called for. Related to that, he was great at checking in with us on the day-of. Rajan is also a dhol player and he nailed it during the Sangeet and Baraat.

The only criticism we have is communication from Silk Events (not DJ Rajan). They switched our DJ assignment without communicating that to us. We learned a month prior to the wedding because of communication we initiated. While we could not have been happier with Rajan, Silk Events could have done a better job communicating that with us.

Rushi is the BEST!

We had the best experience with SilkEvents especially having Rushi and Raj at our wedding weekend. Rushi was so flexiable with us as we requested various changes to the program. His calm demeanor and great attitude was all we needed to get through and have the most perfect weekend! Raj was also a great addition as our MC and dhol player! We couldn't have done without them! We highly recommend hiring SilkEvents for your next event - request Rushi and Raj - they were a dynamic Duo! Thanks Rushi and Raj!!! :)

Rishi was a great DJ! He was very friendly and easy to work with. He also customized all the songs to our liking and made sure we approved everything before the big night. Rishi, you're awesome :)

Rishi DJ'd our at home receception when we returned from our wedding in Mexico and he was great! He was very professional and took a lot of time to walk me through all aspects of the process. He had a detailed spreadsheet that I was able to fill out with details of the night and what kind of music we wanted played so I didn't have to worry about that aspect of the night at all. I would definitely recommend him for any future event you are considering!

Rishi and his team were marvelous at our wedding at Elm Bank!! He is professional, receptive, and very accommodating regarding music requests. We had an Indian fusion wedding that was on the smaller side, with an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. Rishi was on point with the ceremony music cues, and kept our guests dancing through the whole evening at the reception. He is knowledgable about music and was able to read our crowd perfectly - many commented that he was one of the best DJs ever, and I would totally agree! He and his MC were the perfect DJ duo for our wedding, we would highly recommend them to anyone!
