It was an absolute joy to work with Sidney for our engagement session. As a wedding photographer myself, I know what to look for in wedding vendors, and Sidney absolutely knocked it out of the park. She went above and beyond and captured such gorgeous moments between me and my husband. She was such a pleasure to work with too! You can sense how much she cares about her craft because you really feel like being photographed by an old friend. We had a unique circumstance where a family member's health started to fail, so my husband and I got legally married before our large ceremony (coming up still in April 2026) so that our family member could be present. Sidney dropped everything and came to our intimate legal ceremony on short notice. She captured extremely precious moments for us, and we will be forever grateful to her! We can't wait to have Sidney as part of our larger celebration in April 2026 -

From the very start, Sidney was amazing to work with. Friendly, energetic, professional, and obviously incredibly talented. By the end of it all, she wasn’t just our photographer—she had become a wonderful friend.
We had the joy of working with her for our engagement shoot, welcome party, and wedding day, and she exceeded every expectation.
Her eye for detail, her ability to capture genuine emotion, and the way she makes people feel comfortable in front of the camera is truly special. Our photos are everything we hoped for and more: timeless, artistic, and full of life. We’ve looked through them again and again, and we’re still in awe.

We truly cannot say enough good things about Sidney! She is so kind, encouraging, professional, and incredibly talented. Our engagement and wedding weekend photos are beyond anything we could have dreamed of. Choosing her as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made, and we’ll be forever grateful for these memories she captured so perfectly.
She has an incredible eye and will guide you through every moment and make you feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera. Our gallery is such a great blend of fun, romantic, and editorial shots in addition to classic portraits that we will cherish forever.
She also went above and beyond in every way for us. For our engagement shoot, she worked around nature’s timing and dropped everything to make sure we could shoot on the perfect day during peak cherry blossom bloom in DC. We shot on a 30-degree morning at sunrise, but she made it happen for us and the pictures turned out better than we could ever have imagined.
For our wedding weekend, she worked with our tight schedule to capture another portrait session in addition to the wedding weekend events. On our wedding day, she didn’t bill by the hour, but instead by the job, meaning she was with us from the early morning to the very last song, ensuring that every moment was captured. Our gallery is bigger than we could have ever expected – she truly didn’t miss a moment!
Beyond her talent and dedication, she is just a joy to be around—so kind, communicative, intuitive, and genuinely invested in her couples. She took the time to get to know us and our vision in order to bring it to life. I know she gives this same energy, passion, and dedication to every couple she works with because that’s the type of person she is.

I could write a novel of how wonderful it was to work with Sidney for our wedding. We booked our wedding almost 2 years out, and Sidney graciously opened up her books for our year so we could ensure we had her as our photographer (Sidney photographed an old sorority sister of mine and when I saw her pictures a few years ago, I loved her editing style and just knew when my time came, she had to be our photographer). She is the kindest soul, and it comes through when she was taking our pictures at our wedding; all of our family and wedding party had nothing but amazing things to say about her demeanor and how pleasant she was to work with. She made the process so incredibly easy to make sure we had all the specific moments we wanted captured on our special day. Our engagement session with her helped us so much with feeling comfortable posing that everything felt so natural and easy on our wedding day. I am beyond obsessed with all of our pictures, and it was truly such an honor to have her capture the beautiful moments and raw emotion on one of the best days of our lives. From the very first inquiry emails through receiving our (HUGE) wedding gallery, Sidney was not only the sweetest, most thorough, and amazing photographer we’ve ever worked with, she was our hands-down favorite wedding vendor! After booking, every email, call, and touchpoint was handled with genuine care and attention. Our engagement session with her was easy (especially given that my now-husband and I are both super camera-shy!), and it set the tone for the wedding day, giving us an overall air of comfort and excitement! Sidney’s personal shooting style is the perfect balance of emotional and fun, capturing both personalities and vibes – then wrapping them in light and airy editing that brought our day to life in photos.
Sidney is so talented and sweet, and while I know she has to be crazy busy with other galleries (I swear, when does she sleep?!) – she had an amazing way of making us feel like the only couple on her schedule! She brought a warm, comforting energy to our big day, and helped us slow down and enjoy the small moments. Also, I want to be her best friend! AMAZING Photographer
I first found Sidney by scrolling through Instagram looking for wedding photographer inspiration photos. When I came across Sidney's profile I was so impressed by her work and knew I needed to have her for our wedding. We first got to know Sidney during our engagement shoot and we knew we made the right choice. She, was so welcoming, thoughtful, approachable and did an awesome job guiding us through different poses and making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Fast forward to our wedding day. It was so exciting to see her familiar face and she jumped right into capturing our big day. She truly gave it her all. We just got our photos back and they are absolutely stunning, we can't stop looking at them. They capture every special moment, emotion and detail and we will cherish these photos for a lifetime. -

Sidney was one of our favorite parts of our wedding day! Not only is she extremely talented and professional, but she is so fun and kind. She was such a joy to work with from the time of inquiry through receiving our wedding album. Sidney is extremely responsive and answered all of my questions/concerns very promptly. She even helped make recommendations on my outfit for our engagement shoot!
We are not very comfortable in front of a camera, and Sidney knew how to pose us so we felt natural and still had beautiful wedding and engagement photos. Her calm demeanor on our wedding day allowed us to relax and enjoy the day! She was phenomenal with all of our guests and went above and beyond to capture our day naturally yet beautifully. She was wonderful during our family and bridal party portraits by giving clear instruction but not being bossy. She truly captured every moment and the photos are simply stunning. I still can't believe these are actual photos from our wedding day! Sidney made our wedding day 1000x more special than it already was and I am so thrilled she captured our day forever! The time and effort Sidney spent editing our photos is definitely seen after receiving our INCREDIBLE album! I cannot recommend her enough to future couples and would book her time and time again! -

*I'm sorry in advance for the length of this, but Sidney Leigh Photography is just THAT good and I couldn't help myself!
If you are looking for a wedding photographer, or any type of photographer for that matter - just trust me and BOOK WITH SIDNEY!!! From the moment I reached out to Sidney back in 2020, I knew that I had to have her as a part of our 2022 rehearsal dinner and wedding day. It was important to my husband and I to book our photographer far in advance and let me tell you, we feel like we hit the lottery by finding Sidney. I originally reached out because I loved her stunning shooting style, but what I didn't know at the time was that Sidney is the SWEETEST, most genuine soul! She was patient with all of our questions, helped to create our wedding timeline, and truly took the time to make us feel important through the entire 2 year process.
We met Sidney at our venue exactly one year before our wedding day to take our engagement photos which turned out more beautiful that I could have imagined. Sidney has a way of making you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera - she will be your biggest hype girl! It was such a pleasure to share our wedding day with her as well. She has a calm and positive energy, even when it poured down rain and we had to change some things last minute. She also has the perfect balance of making sure she got all of the shots we wanted but was also very behind the scenes and made sure to not interfere with our day. We received our final gallery a few days ago and my husband and I spent hours looking over each image reliving the best day of our lives. I truly don't even have words for how thankful and appreciative I am for this incredible gift that Sidney has given us. Her talent is truly unmatched, and I cannot wait for another excuse to book a session with sweet Sidney. We can't wait to cherish these photos forever and share them with our kids one day. -

The best photographer - seriously
After too many horror stories from friends and family about not getting a quality photographer, we decided that photography to us was a top priority. Telling you that Sidney met all of our photography dreams, that would be an understatement. She is AMAZING!! She takes her time with you and makes sure to make sure you as a couple feel special. Sidney is truly such a gift to the wedding industry, she has a kind soul and love for her craft. This love shows through in all her photographs. She does an amazing job capturing the emotion on the special day (something I can’t imagine being easy to do). If we could hire her again and again we would have. I recommend her to everyone I meet who is looking for a wedding day photographer. Photographs are the one sentimental piece you have to remember your special day after the day is over. A True Talent!
Sidney is the real deal. Her portfolio speaks for itself! My husband and I are extremely thankful to have had such an incredible and kind person capture both our engagement and wedding pictures!
We first met Sidney in 2019 during our engagement shoot and right away we knew she was a beautiful person inside and out. When you first meet Sidney it is as if you have known her your entire life! Sidney made us feel so calm and comfortable in front of the camera. She truly cares about her clients and will work closely with you on every aspect of your big day.
Although our wedding day was almost 100 degrees, Sidney kept us calm the entire time. She made sure everyone was comfortable and hydrated during our photo sessions and even positioned us in shady areas to beat the heat. She is a true rockstar!
We received a sneak peak of our gallery and we were blown away. Sidney truly captures every precious moment on your wedding day, big or small! Stop your photographer research and reach out to Sidney. I highly recommend investing in her beautiful work that will have you smiling years from now! -

I'll start by saying Sidney is absolutely phenomenal in all aspects - a completely genuine person, extremely professional, and (what everyone wants to know) an incredibly gifted photographer. My husband and I did a lot of diligence on different photographers and Sidney immediately jumped out based on her previous work and amazing reviews. From the moment we spoke to Sidney she made us feel so special, not only expressing interest in getting to know us as individuals but also the backstory of our relationship. She didn't jump right into pricing or the packages she offers, but instead made us the focus. From that interaction, we knew she was the one. Full disclosure my husband does NOT like taking photos, but after finishing our engagement shoot we left with him saying "can we do this again..." given she made us feel so comfortable. From our perspective, this was imperative when choosing the right photographer for our big day. Leading up to the wedding day she was on top of everything! She made sure she knew what was most important to us to ensure all our special moments were captured. Not to mention she focuses on all the details, whether large or small.
In the end, what is special is that we gained a friend in all of this. We can't thank Sidney enough for being such a great person to work with and capturing beautiful pictures that we will be looking at for the rest of our lives to remind us of the most perfect day. -

Sidney is incredible. I received my wedding photos last week and I don’t think I’ve made it a whole day without going back through them multiple times. Sidney did both my engagement and my wedding photos and I’ll start with engagement. I knew I wanted something a little different but wasn’t entirely sure what that looked like and it’s like she took that vague concept straight out of my head and turned it into exactly what I wanted and more. I adore them. Sidney and I had talked over email and the phone before the engagement shoot and she is so kind, but meeting her in person is just amazing. She is so warm, so genuine and makes you feel SO comfortable during the shoot. She went above and beyond (even brought props) to make it look so good. We had clouds and rain during our shoot and I was so worried they wouldn’t be pretty and then I got them back and oh my gosh. A cloudy day has never looked better because she is pure magic. Now wedding day. I’ve been in the wedding industry for the better part of a decade and I went into this with high expectations and a whole lot of opinions. Sidney blew me away. They are genuinely the most gorgeous photos I have ever seen. I cannot believe they are mine. She captured every single moment that was important to me and made every detail look stunning. I keep looking through these photos in awe of just how talented she is and how she captured just the right moments for everything. Every facial expression, every emotion, every detail. You get so caught up in the nerves of the day that it feels like you barely remember anything and looking through these photos I get to not only see everything I felt I missed, but also feel all of the emotions all over again. I cannot tell you how happy I am that Sidney was my photographer. I wish I could get married all over again just to hire her again. There weren’t any moments that felt forced, even my shy husband who hates having photos taken kept talking about how comfortable she made him feel and how it was actually fun. Sidney gave me so many amazing photos she’s turned me into that person who overshares their wedding because I genuinely can’t narrow them down. They’re all SO good. Hiring Sidney was without a doubt the best wedding decision I made and I cannot possibly recommend her enough. -

Sidney was an absolute dream to work with. Before even meeting her for our engagement session she sent us a thorough, and beautiful, guide on what to expect from her services and ways to prepare for upcoming photo shoots. My fiance and I were nervous because we had never been professionally photographed together - but all of those nerves melted away when we met Sidney. Before properly meeting Sidney, she was outside studying the lighting of every area of the venue we had our engagement pictures so we could have the perfect light in our pictures. Once we were properly introduced she made us feel so at ease - and because of that our engagement picture sessions look absolutely great! We look relaxed and the lighting she captured was exceptional.
Since our wedding was a 'pandemic' wedding, Sidney proactively reached out to us to let us know the precautions her and her assistant would be taking - which just took the stress off of us. Leading up to the wedding she was very responsive and collaborated so well with our planner to get a timeline down to make sure we were able to capture important moments - but also, to capture the candid ones as well.
The day of the wedding Sidney and her assistant were such a calming force, which was great because I was a nervous wreck! She directed everyone precisely and effectively, which is tough with a gang of groomsmen & bridesmaids. But the best part about Sidney's method was that it was as if she wasn't there. Not once did I feel like I was being photographed - I was present in the moment of my wedding.
Now the absolutely amazing part about working with Sidney is getting the pictures back. Like I said previously, with her method it's like she wasn't there - so to see all the moments she captured, candid and not, they were breathtaking. After posting a wedding album I've had friends and family repeatedly tell me how stunning our wedding pictures are - and thanks to Sidney we have a lifetime to enjoy them!
If you're looking for an amazing wedding photographer that wants to get the perfect shot for you and is just an all around great person - go with Sidney! -

I originally met Sidney when she was the photographer for my sister’s wedding last year. Having been a bridesmaid in multiple weddings prior to my sisters I had never worked with a photographer who gave such great direction and positive energy. I knew when it was my turn to get married Sidney was a must have for my big day. Fast forward to this year and I can’t speak highly enough about Sidney. Planning a wedding during a pandemic was beyond stressful at times; with the ever changing restrictions and unknowns. Sidney continually was putting me at ease, checking in with me and asking if I needed anything. She helped me navigate through the multiple different wedding scenarios that we had planned out just in case and was super supportive when my husband and I had to make changes. When the big day finally came on September 12, Sidney was early with positive energy and a perfectly planned out timeline. She coached myself and my bridesmaids all along the way and truly made us look like models. As a bride, we want to look our best on our wedding day and not have pictures from unflattering angles. Sidney was great with directing myself and our wedding party on proper placement and the pictures of course came out beautifully. Lindsey, her second shooter, was amazing with our groomsmen and you can tell how well they work together and love what they do. Sidney caught so many candid moments and we can NOT stop looking at the pictures. I can’t recommend her enough and I am sad that my wedding is over because she really became a friend through all this. My family adores her and if there’s a way we can ever work with her again in the future we most certainly will! -

I absolutely love Sidney. I could not have asked for a better person to be by my side all day on my wedding day. Not only is she an absolutely amazing photographer she is the most incredible person I have ever met. We first met her for our engagement photos that turned out AMAZING. She toughed through 100% humidity and did it with a smile on her face the whole time. Sidney has such an amazing personality that she made my not so photo-loving husband actually be excited for pictures. I don’t know where to begin. Sidney captured our engagement pictures and we were very fortunate to have her capture our wedding as well. Sidney is an absolute DREAM!! She is personable, responsive, knowledgeable and has such a creative eye. She shot our engagement photos a few months ago and we are OBSESSED with them. Our wedding has been postponed because of the cornoavirus outbreak but Sidney has literally bent over backwards to make sure our backup date runs as smoothly as possible and has continued to be gracious, helpful and encouraging. Sidney's work is beyond stunning. She is so charming and her presence is very calming and engaging, which made taking photos not only a breeze but so unbelievably fun. My husband and I can not recommend Sidney enough.
She was so helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process as well, assisting whenever we had questions, offering great suggestions and having awesome ideas about shooting at our venue. Working with Sidney was as easy as we could have imagined and her genuine affection for her clients is palpable.
We laughed constantly through all our portraits and group shots, as she helped make the 95-degree heat and the bugs disappear from our minds completely.
This is all not even mentioning the UNBELIEVABLE quality of Sidney's work, which is drop-dead gorgeous. Her dedication and passion for what she does even in the post-production process are completely evident in the final product. Our entire album gallery looked truly more beautiful than we had any idea it would. Her style is light, airy, crisp and romantic, which all resulted in absolutely stunning photographs. From our group shots, candids and portraits, she executed each and every one beautifully with such a keen eye and intuition for capturing every moment, to the point we have too many favorite photos to fit in one album. Sidney's work was a perfect representation of our wedding day... and we will truly cherish those memories and getting to work with her forever. -

Photography was something that was SO important to me-it's something tangible you have forever to remember your wedding day. I stumbled upon Sidney because she was my contact for my venue tour at the Granary. I looked her up online beforehand (because I like to know who I'm meeting) and when I googled her name, I found her photography page. I instantly fell in love with her work- it was the light and airy, romantic aesthetic that I love. I waited until after our venue tour to bombard her with questions about her photography, but I knew I wanted her to be part of our wedding day. Sidney is the sweetest person and so genuine. She made our engagement shoot so fun and took away the awkwardness of having your photo taken 1000+ times. She is professional and was incredible to work with. She worked closely with our wedding coordinator to develop a wedding day timeline and everything went so smoothly. Sidney captured our wedding day so perfectly and I couldn't imagine having anybody else there. I can't say enough wonderful things about the person she is and the moments she's able to capture! -

We heard about Sidney from 2 different couples that used her as their wedding photographer, and considered her their favorite vendor. Sidney is such a sweetheart and is so passionate about what she does. My husband and I weren't comfortable in front of the camera at first, but she gave excellent direction. By the end of the engagement session, we felt like supermodels (thanks to her constant positivity and compliments). We received our engagement photos in just 3 days time. It was an
insanely short turnaround, which just shows her passion for her work! At the wedding, she got all of our requested photos taken (even with our delayed start time of 1 hour due to hair and makeup taking longer than expected). In the end, in addition to receiving beautiful photos, we made a beautiful friend! We were so happy with our experience, and highly recommend Sidney! -

Sidney could not have been kinder, more professional, organized, or skilled. Not possible. She was key to keeping the day running smoothly and on track and made sure to get all the shots that I wanted. If I had any questions or concerns, she was always prompt and thorough in her communication. Not only were her services a blessing before and during the wedding, her photographs that we received afterwards are absolutely amazing and impress everyone who sees them. I'm a tough critic with an eye for detail (especially when it came to my wedding) and Sidney met and surpassed all of my expectations. Years down the road, the photographs are all that will be left and choosing a quality photographer is important. I doubt anyone will find a wedding photographer like Sidney, who goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to make your engagement photos and wedding photos look BEAUTIFUL. I say this because (1) she gives great direction so that you won't feel awkward while taking the photos (2) she knows how to capture the light and the right moments (3) she listens to her clients and figures out what they ultimately want from their photos and (4) she efficiently communicates with and helps guide the people around us, like the bridal party, families, and the videographers, so that everyone's on the same page and we can actually enjoy the moment.
Sidney is a great photographer, but she also became a great friend and reliable source of support. She kept us updated throughout the year and came to our wedding with such great, positive energy. Sidney is one of the most talented people I have ever met. She is not only an incredible photographer, but an incredible person. My husband and I are not camera people and typically hate having our picture taken, but taking photos with Sidney was a blast. She has the ability to take the pressure off getting the right picture, and puts an emphasis on having fun as a couple. We were both incredibly stressed on our wedding day due to complications from a hurrican that passed through the day before. Sidney managed to calm us down and remind us that the day was about our committment to each other, not to having a perfect wedding.
In spite of the hurricane, we had a BLAST at our wedding, and she absolutely captured it. She somehow managed to get a great photo of every single one of our 120 guests, all of whom mean a great deal to us. To have the best day of our lives documented means the world to us. One of the most important things to me, was the pictures we would have to cherish forever. Embarrassingly enough, I can't count how many hours I spent searching for the perfect wedding photographer. Of all places, I found Sidney on instagram. As soon as I saw her work, I knew I wanted her for our wedding. Initially speaking to Sidney on the phone, I knew further more, she was the perfect match for us! Not only was she insanely sweet and easy to talk to her, she was also very professional and attentive to detail. Everything I wrote down that was important to me in capturing on our big day, she got and more! She exceeded everything I wanted. Not only that, she was there from the start of our day to the very end. Mind you, we started getting ready at 5AM and we left the reception a little before 11PM! Most photographers would charge an arm and a leg to be working that many hours, but Sidney was VERY reasonable! To this day, my family and friends still rave about her and the amazing photos she captured! I can't tell you how many times we've been told our photos belong in a magazine. You will not go wrong in choosing Sidney as your wedding photographer! We will continue to use her in the future!

I was excited as soon as she walked through the door at 8 a.m. and started gushing over our details. From that point on, her excitement only grew. She orchestrated our first look and captured it without being intrusive. Sidney stayed way past dark until most of the excitement died down, and even before she left, she made sure there weren't any other shots we wanted.
With Sidney, you don't get a series of forced poses copied from your Pinterest board. You get beautiful images that capture your unique relationship and personalities. Our friends and family have all been impressed by the pictures she took. They are natural and beautiful, and she truly made something special happen.
