Best Ever!

We had an amazing experience using Janea for our elopement photos! From the initial booking process, to travel delays, weather updates, and anything in between, Janea was very understanding, quick to respond, and answered any and all questions we had. We wanted photos with the mountain scenery and Janea knew all of the perfect spots to go! We just got our sneak peaks back and words can’t explain how happy we are with the outcome! She over exceeded our expectations by a long shot! There’s no one else I’d rather use for future photography sessions! She’s a local to Estes Park and I would highly recommend choosing her to do any photography session!

We had such a great experience working with Janea and would 100% reccomend. She met with me over FaceTime several times during the planning process, was great about answering any questions/concerns we had, and was our biggest hype girl on the day of. Her personality and creativity make her PERFECT for this job! We love all the photos!

Incredible

Janea did an absolutely wonderful job with our wedding photography! She was very attentive to detail and made sure we got all the shots we were hoping for! Her personality make you feel at ease and helps you to feel comfortable in front of the camera. I would highly recommend her. I have gotten so many compliments on the sneak peak photos so far. She was able to coordinate with a tight schedule and allow for space between the wedding events to enjoy the moments. Thank you so much!!!

The BEST photographer!!

Janea is one of the best photographers I’ve ever worked with! We were lucky enough to have her shoot our maternity photos and our newborn photos. She took the time to listen to the style we wanted for each and matched her photos exactly with what we wanted. I am going to cherish these photos forever thanks to her. Our favorite vendor

Words can't explain how amazing Shutter and Stone is. We had them for both our engagement photos and wedding photos and they were so accommodating, so fun to work with, and are so talented. By far, our favorite vendor at our wedding. They know all the mountain shots and have an eye for the most beautiful areas, and were so professional. 100% recommend, you will never be disappointed. We love you guys!

Amazing Wedding Day

We had the wonderful good fortune of having selected Shutter & Stone Photography for our summer time destination wedding. We were traveling from Florida to Colorado for our outdoor mountain wedding. We began our search for vendors online followed by phone calls. Kate made us feel very relaxed on the phone and we favored her photos online over many others we had looked through. Her and Janea were fantastic. We selected the option of a pre-ceremony "first look" shoot earlier in the day located inside the RMNP. They were open to any suggestions or requests we had for specific photos of us and our guests. They were very professional and encouraging in their direction to achieve so many amazing photos we will cherish forever. They were fun, energetic, and creative. Would 100% use them again for any special event or occasion.

These women are so amazing to work with. We wanted to take pictures up in the National Park for our wedding and they knew right where those should be taken and they turned out amazing. Our pictures are beautiful and they were more than accommodating to any request that we had. I highly highly recommend that you make them apart of your big day!!!

From the beginning our experience with Janea and Kate has been beyond amazing! Our engagement photo session was more fun than I could have imagined and the photos were beautiful. The girls were so accommodating with our scheduling during the day of the wedding and made sure we captured every the special moment with our families before the ceremony. Our families loved them and told me afterwards they thought they were long time friends of ours lol, that is how amazing their service was and we could not be more grateful for all the wonderful memories we had that day and the gorgeous photos they captured!!

There are not enough words in the dictionary to convey just how absolutely amazing Janea, of Shutter and Stone Photography, is!!!!! I did a ridiculous amount of research, trying to decide on a photographer, from Chicago to Estes Park, and it paid off. Her prices are very reasonable. I dare say even too low for, not only the quality of work you receive, but also for the tranquility you feel. Not only is Janea incapable of taking a bad picture, but every one of them looks as though it’s from the pages of a high end magazine! She has a great eye, fresh ideas, and such raw talent! From the moment I first contacted her via Facebook, all the way until we received our finished product, I felt a sense of peace with her. I knew I was in good hands. She listened to EVERYTHING I had to say, and legitimately cared; She took the time to get to know us; She was very accommodating; She made suggestions, but didn’t make us feel obligated to go those routes; And this was all before ever meeting her! Such commitment!!! When it came time for the actual shoot, it couldn’t have been anymore perfect! Most women are ridiculously hard on themselves. I’m no exception. My self esteem is so low, it’s scary sad, which is why there are few pictures of me in the world. Janea made all of that disappear! She made me feel comfortable in my own skin, she made me feel relaxed, she made it fun...Honestly, it was like hanging out with an old childhood friend. Everyone was truly smiling (not those fake smiles), and you could see it in our eyes! Even my teenage sons!!! Anyone who has teenage sons, knows they don’t smile for anything...LOL. My “special” three year old son, she was beyond patient with him, and he ended up falling in love with her! She handled my crazy crowd with such ease, never breaking a sweat. Janea has such a beautiful soul, and I will forever be grateful and thankful for the priceless memories she provided my family!!!

My wife and I had a mini session done in RMNP with Janea in November and it was an all around excellent experience. Her professionalism, attention to detail (lighting/framing/poses/etc..), and overall personality were above and beyond my expectations. She carried on sincere conversation and my the experience much more relaxed (which results in much better pictures). And the turnaround time of the pictures was even more impressive. It's easy to see that she truly loves what she does and it comes through in her work. I would definitely recommend her for your future photography needs.

Janea is the best photographer, hands down. She traveled all the way to Utah for our wedding. She has amazing skills taking photos in the mountains! Even when we were hit with 15 inches of unexpected snow, Janea was able to capture the moment and got some of the most magical photos. Not only is Janea a fabulous photographer, she's also a genuinely sweet person. She spent time with me on the phone helping develop wedding plans, timeline, and was probably the most helpful person when it came to actually planning the day. Do not hesitate to book her for your photos - she is wonderful!

Janae was a godsend that made our wedding a magical day. She was flexible with us having to change the wedding date due to snow, and you all the best spots for us to take pictures. She was very helpful and cheerful which made everything go better.

Janea was an absolute joy to work with- she went above and beyond to make our family photos a great experience. We try to take family photos every year on vacation and these are still our very favorites (even after this year's in front of the Eiffel Tower! Still love Janea's more). The quality of work Janea produces is unmatched, her delivery is speedy, and she is the sweetest person to work with. Janea is amazing. We had never done professional pictures before and hadn’t met Janea until moments before we eloped in RMNP. It could not have been a better experience!! If you’re Googling random photographers in Estes Park like I was, you found your girl!! I was able to tell her the silly things about my body I’m self conscious about, and she made sure to pose me how I’d be happy. I LOVE ALL OF OUR SHOTS (and never in a million years thought I would say that!). She also made us feel super comfortable. We were expecting it to be so awkward, but nope! It was awesome.

After hearing about Janea Smith Photography through old friends from high school that we happened to run into on date night all the way in Michigan, we knew it was meant to be! Janea was absolutely AMAZING throughout the whole experience. Planning our elopement in the Rocky Mountains from across the U.S. was a lot hard than we thought it would be but with the help of Janea everything turned out so beautifully! She recommended everything from where to stay in Estes Park, where to elope and even the best places to eat on our wedding night. She drove us to the most beautiful places around Rocky Mountain National park and took absolutely gorgeous photos and even told us about some of the history there ♥ She went above and beyond what we ever expected and really helped to make our day special. How lucky am I to have found Janea Smith? Incredible experience and person. We came from FL to CO, having only seen her website through the recommendation of another Estes Park photographer whom was booked for our event. God thing? Yes! Janea photographed our private ten year vow renewal and she just has a perfect sense and balance that allowed her to really give us the space we needed to keep our moment sacred to us, yet beautifully captured. In the end I would recommend her to ANYONE and EVERYONE. Our photos were stunning, bringing me back to one of the most life defining experiences I have ever had. Giving me beautiful memories I will cherish forever. In addition, she has a keen eye for properly directing clients to natural poses for those that struggle (my husband). Janea is amazing! I absolutely loved working with her as did my entire bridal party. I received so many compliments about her both during my wedding and after. This is truly her passion in life and that is so evident once you work with her. Not only was the experience of working with her fantastic but the end result is just as fantastic, my photos are beautiful. Janea took out engagement pictures as well as our wedding pictures. From the first time she photographed us she made us feel at ease! Our engagement pictures turned out more wonderful than we ever imagined and I knew she would be perfect to photograph our wedding. Janea did an amazing job capturing our perfect day! She took all the pictures we wanted and so much more but did it in such a professional, timely way that it didn't feel like we were taking pictures all day. Janea is such an amazing photographer! We had so many wonderful pictures from our wedding it was hard to narrow them down for our album! She was very professional and efficient on our wedding day. She is knowledgeable and knows what shots need to be taken of each group and family. She was also able to direct our families in a professional manner which isn't always the simplest task :)
She also captured our engagement photos and exceeded our expectations. We planned to have them done in Vail Village. She spent 4 hours capturing more than 600 photos! All were beautiful. She lugged all of her equipment around (even went to the top of the gondola!) and didn't miss a single shot.
She certainly can capture the love between two people in photography. And most importantly, she loves what she does! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a professional photographer! Keep up the beautiful work Janea!

We had the pleasure of working with Janea for our Engagement & Wedding pictures, and have to say that was the easiest decision we made in the process. She truly made everything effortless, and so comfortable for both of us. The engagement session was the first time I had met Janea, but immediately felt like I had known her for years. If you are at all nervous about being in front of the camera (as we were), look no further...this is your girl! Outside of the relationship we have built since, Janea's work is nothing short of stunning! Her attention to detail, and love for capturing EVERY detail, will have us back time and time again. Janea was awesome! We love the pictures she took of our day. We had an intimate courthouse wedding and she made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. The pictures came out great! Lighting, poses, and where she positioned us in the space were on point, as were the detail shots. We will treasure our photos for years to come. We had Janea take some family pictures of us with our 10 month old while we were visiting Estes Park, CO from St. Louis. We found her online and thought her example pics were exactly what we were looking for. She did not disappoint. She took the most amazing pictures we've ever had taken and she was awesome with our son. She had him smiling the whole session! She knew the best spots for pics and we felt so comfortable with her. Our house is filled with these pics because there were too many perfect ones to choose just a few. We are already considering another trip to Estes Park to see if we can book her again! I only wish we would have had her for our wedding a few years back. If you're looking for a wedding photographer, family photo session, or any other kind of pics, go with Janea, you won't be disappointed!

Janea was amazing! I first met Janea on a trip to Estes Park before she was doing photography full time. I remember hiking the mountains of Estes Park with her and talking about life and remembered her mentioning her passion for photography. When Alan and I first got engaged and decided to have our wedding in Estes Park using Janea as our photographer was the easiest wedding decision we made. She was so fun to work with and knows the area so well, when we were taking our engagement pictures she found the most magical place for our "cowboy style" pictures. And when it came to the wedding day I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be there with us. Janea has a way of immediately making you feel comfortable on what can be an exciting but at times stressful day. If your looking for a photographer that you can feel comfortable with and will take the most beautiful pictures of you and your future Mr or Mrs I would highly recommend Janea.

Janea did our family photos for us in October of 2015. This cute little family of four was LONG overdue! I don't like to be photographed and always close my eyes so I was nervous. Janea has a charismatic way of making you laugh and relax so this was so fun, she was awesome. She picked the most amazing places to shoot and her vision was perfect for the shots we were wanting. She took time and really had fun with our two little boys (ages 5 and 3) and she was able to get amazing shots of them, when normally they are pretty hard to keep still! We know that we have found our yearly family photographer from here on out, she is just amazing!

Although Janea didn't photograph my wedding, (though if she's still photographing when the time comes, I'm most definitely coming to her) she did do my senior pictures and I can tell you with the upmost honesty that I wouldn't have wanted to go to anyone else. Not only do I hate having my pictures taken, but I'm not the most confident person and she not only made me feel comfortable, but truly beautiful as well. Throughout the shoot she helped me understand in such a kind way what poses to do, how to do them, where to stand, how to smile, and the list goes on. Not only did I get some amazing senior pictures, but I also gained a friend. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else for any sort of photography I need done whether it's now or in the future. Ok, let's be honest. Janea is AMAZING! She photographed our engagement photos, as well as our wedding pictures! My husband was a little nervous to do the engagement shoot, but Janea made him feel very comfortable! It's very easy to see that Janea loves what she does. We got married at the Tapestry House last August, and she was there for every moment that needed to be captured. She took over 1,000 pictures and there wasn't one that I didn't like! We have her work blown up all around our house. Janea is a very sweet, experienced, smart, loving person and I would recommend her to ANYONE. The quality of work that she does is out of this world and we were very lucky to have her be apart of such special moments in our lives! We wake up to our wedding pictures on our wall everyday, and relive that special moment. Thanks to her.
