Wonderful 50th Anniversary Celebration!

When planning our 50th anniversary party, my husband was adamant about having a string quartet. We booked the Shrewsbury String Quartet and were so glad we did. It took our event at Heritage Shores to another level. It was so elegant and lovely. Our guests just loved it. Tony is such a pleasure to work with, so responsive and accommodating. A wonderful experience!

Brilliant!

Tony is just wonderful - kind, flexible, and talented! He was very accommodating to our plan changes due to Covid. We got married November of 2020 with just our immediate family and canceled most of our vendors (DJs, Photobooth) based on the change in our party size.We didn’t want to compromise on the ceremony and are so glad we didn’t. Toni & team learned two songs for us and because we didn’t have a DJ he also played for our first dances and through our small luncheon. It was a very special part of our day.

Amazing musical addition to our wedding for a really reasonable price

Tony Gizzi and The Shrewsbury Quartet provided the ceremony and cocktail hour music for my wedding on 9.13.19. These talented musicians were so easy to work with. They provided many music selections and honored our choices. They played each song beautifully. The quartet music really made the whole wedding unique and elegant. I found them on Gig Masters and saw a clip of them playing for a mini wedding on The Rachel Ray Show. It was so gorgeous, I booked that day without much more thought. In person, they gave me goosebumps.

Tony mailed us a flash drive of music for free. I love having it as a keepsake to listen to their music. I also found their prices extremely reasonable. Plan to tip because they are worth more than their fee!!They were very professional and we were thrilled to have them as part of the wedding team.

We hired the Shrewsbury String Quartet for our wedding and I could not be happier!!! They were so wonderful in accommodating every song we wanted played, and they sounded absolutely lovely! I come from a very musical family, as does my husband, so we knew we needed the best, and we absolutely got it with the Shrewsbury String Quartet!!

So pleased to see that this quartet is still active. I was married on April 2, 2005 (the calendar on this review site only dates back to 2007 - so please excuse the discrepancy in this review). These are the most professional and talented musicians I could have hired for my ceremony. They endured a storm the likes South Jersey has yet to see since, and were still punctual (even though I was not.) If you want beautiful music coupled with professional vendors- this is the quartet for you!

We had the Shrewsbury String Quartet perform both the Ceremony and Cocktail Hour for our wedding. They arrived early to The Desmond, performed flawlessly, and "wowed" our guests!! The contract process was quite simple, their website provided plenty of samples to help select the music for our wedding, and their performance was exceptional!! Our music selection was pretty conventional, so I can't speak to how special requests would go - but I don't think you can possibly find a better quality outcome!!!

The Shrewbury Quartet was a beautiful addition to our wedding ceremony. Our guests are still talking about them. Toni was very responsive and great to work with. When choosing songs for specific times in our ceremony, he knew exactly what we were talking about and was able to offer suggestions. We had a catholic ceremony outdoors and everything was amazing! We would highly recommend them for any type of wedding! Thank you for being a part of our special day!

Tony Gizzi at Shrewsbury String Quartet is THE BEST!! I have known him as a friend for years and was at a wedding he performed at (which I recommended him for). He blew me away! Everyone raved about how beautiful the string quartet was and how it added a special touch and flare to the ceremony. The only downfall is that because I was the bride I didn't get to see much of their performance.

Shrewsbury String Quartet played wonderfully at our ceremony and cocktail hour! They worked well with our vocalist from our family.

My wedding ceremony at Talamore Country Club was perfect, and a lot of that was due to this incredible quartet. We had two special songs we wanted them to play, one of which they didn't know, but we found the sheet music and they learned it just for us! It was a special song my mom loves and it honestly made her whole day when she walked down the aisle to it. Everything they played was perfect. Thanks you so much!

Shrewsbury Strings were great! They did our ceremony music and were incredible! They are extremely well priced for such an elegant addition for your wedding! They were a joy to work with, very helpful and accommodating during our planning, and could not have been better the day of the wedding! I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the future!! Tony was really great to talk with. He was receptive to the songs we liked, and shared his quartet's skills. He was always quick to respond over e-mail and made time to do phone calls as well.

He also went above and beyond, playing "Explosions in the Sky" for us, and working to demo songs. The song demos were interesting: he was able to record and play back a string composition of certain songs we had wanted. It was nice to hear and give feedback so they could give the best performance.

On the day of the wedding, the trio assembled, and with my groomsman brother's help, put a platform on the beach together for them to perform on. It was really beautiful, and people thought it was a great touch to have string musicians on the beach. Really really classy and I highly recommend. If it's possible, get there earlier just to hear them play for a bit, and then do the ceremony.

I was looking for violinists that would be able to perform a catholic church ceremony and the fact that the Shrewsbury String Quartet website has a specific page that addresses catholic ceremonies and recommends songs was already impressive to begin with, but when you actually speak to Tony, he's even more helpful and impressive.

Tony was 100% responsive and accommodating, and I feel confident in recommending his services to all brides. The ceremony was beautiful and they were excellent performers - incredibly professional.

From the moment I contacted tony everything was great. He always go back to me in a timely fashion. He gave me a CD with some demos of the songs I could choose from and the website also had samples. I think they also do custom songs if you just ask. They arrived early for my ceremony and played beautifully. Everyone loved them!! I can't wait to get my video so I can hear them again

The most responsive and flexible vendor that I worked with for the whole wedding! As soon as I emailed, every time, Tony responded IMMEDIATELY (or almost immediately)! We selected Shrewsbury because it was very obvious that they're very familiar with the Catholic ceremony, and we come from a very up-tight Catholic church. They worked with our friend that we asked to sing during our ceremony, and were so accommodating with our music selections. Music was beautiful and the audibility was perfect in our XXL, carpeted Catholic church.

Shrewsbury also played our cocktail hour (30 minute drive from our church, with a 90 minute break in between ceremony and reception), to rave reviews. Though audible from everywhere in our cocktail space, we had guests who told us they enjoyed the music so much that they specifically hung out very close to the musicians, because they thought Shrewsbury was so wonderful.

If you're wondering if a quartet is worth the money for the added elegance, DO IT! And book Shrewsbury String Quartet. I PROMISE - you will not be disappointed.

We used the string quartet as ceremony music only. Tony was very easy to communicate with, quick to respond to calls and very helpful because I really felt like I had no idea what I was doing with ceremony music! Most importantly, they sounded absolutely beautiful on our wedding day. We received so many compliments at the quality of the music. They will also take requests outside of the typical- we used Coldplay for our recessional.

I am so happy that I went with the Strewsbury String Quartet for my August wedding! Tony was incredibly responsive and professional. Also, their website is so helpful! It allows you to listen to previews of the different songs to help you make a decision. It also offers insight on choosing music for a Catholic wedding (which I needed help with). They were also very affordable. I chose a string duo for my wedding to stay with in budget and was a little nervous that it might not sound like enough in a big Catholic church. Tony assured me that all the songs that I had picked would sound good with a duo and he was right! The music was beautiful and I loved being able to afford live music at my wedding that wasn't the typical organ. I didn't have any contact with them the day of the wedding, but they showed up early, rehearsed with my brother (the vocalist) and helped produce a beautiful ceremony. I can't thank them enough!

A perfect touch to a perfect day. My only regret is that I didn't get to hear very much of them as I was the bride. They arrived on time, played before the ceremony, during the ceremony (on request) for a song, and after while we greeted our guests in the recieving line. Very classy touch to our memorable day.

Tony and the musicians of Shrewsbury are amazing and play gorgeous music. They were friendly, down to earth, and professional. Their prices are reasonable and they get back to you right away. I highly recommend them for your wedding ceremony, especially if you are doing something outdoors like we did. It really adds a nice emotional touch to the day. Bravo!

Easiest vendor I worked with. Beautiful music...no hassles...and a great price. I shopped around quite a bit and some of the other groups in Philly are almost twice as costly and honestly...not as friendly and easy going as Tony from Shrewsbury.

I hired the Shrewsbury String Quartet to play alongside a pianist at my wedding in September. I hate somber organ music and love strings so I thought it this would be a good substitute. I couldn't have made a better decision. The music was absolutely beautiful. I'm not a corny person, but this music made my ceremony magical. Tony was really easy to work with. He sent me a demo CD, discussed some of the pieces the quartet could play for my wedding, showed me an outline and suggested selections for different parts of the ceremony. The quartet knew the Catholic mass parts, kept up playing before and after the ceremony so there was no "dead air," worked well with the church pianist, and played a strings version of Bittersweet Symphony while my new husband and I walked out of the church. There was an audible gasp and huge smiles from the guests. We received tons of compliments on the music. I didn't have the ceremony filmed but now wish I at least had an audio recording of the music. I highly recommend the Shrewsbury String Quartet for beautiful ceremony music!

I booked a string quartet for my outdoor wedding ceremony with the Shrewsbury String Quartet. The price for their service was very reasonable. Shrewsbury String Quartet made the process very simple and easy. They were quick in their responses and open to my music suggestions and were very helpful in providing music suggestions to me. The music they played was beautiful! They sounded great and I was very happy!

The Shrewsbury String Quartet provided the music for my daughters wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on October 10, 2009. They are not only exceptionally talented musicians, but wonderful people. Tony responds immediately to phone calls, is extremely patient, knowledgeable and helpful. After meeting with him, I left the music in his capable hands, knowing it was the one wedding detail I knew I didn't have to worry about. His calm and professional manner, kindness and genuine caring nature, is just what every bride and her family needs on that very hectic day. If you have the chance to hear them in person, don't miss the opportunity. Check their website, it is very helpful and easy to navigate. Shrewsbury string quartet was a wonderful choice. They were very professional through everything. They really personalized our ceremony and worked with us to make sure everything was perfect. Tony from the Shrewsbury Quartet was quick with responding to my questions and very professional. My husband and I sent the Quartet sheet music and an MP3 of a song we liked to have as "our song". We sent it about 3 months before the wedding and to our surprise, the Quartet learned the song and even rehearsed it at another wedding (where everyone asked what it was because it was so beautiful). When they played at my wedding (ceremony), it was so beautiful, I was in tears walking down the isle! They were really great to work with and all my guests loved them! I highly recommend them!

Shrewsbury String Quartet provided our ceremony music and we were extremely impressed. We researched numerous musicians in the area and settled on Shrewsbury after talking with Tony. He was knowledgeable, responsive, provided song recommendations and let us know what he thought would or wouldn’t work with our outdoor ceremony. We eventually settled on a trio and the music was perfect! We received many compliments on the ceremony music and would highly recommend them.

They were a great vendor. They were very responsive to my needs and wishes. I was able to give them a list of particular music I wanted to be played and when and it sounded beautiful. Our ceremony was outside and they were placed in the back corner but was able to echo throughout and sounded great. Pretty good price for the time and they even stayed a little over until all of the guests have gotten up and moved to the back of the mansion for the cocktail hour.

They were extremely easy to work with, showed up on time, and sounded absolutely beautiful on the wedding day. What more could you ask for?

The Shrewsbury Quartet are beautiful musicians. They did a wonderful job playing at our wedding and we recieved many compliments about their performance. Some music was not played during the ceremony that we thought would be played. The ceremony was moving at a fast pace so we are unsure if they could not keep up or if their was some other reason the music was not played. Tony at the Shrewsbury Quartet has a wonderful personality and is a pleasure to talk to. Loved these guys and would recommend them to anyone. Their music made our day extra special! Thanks guys :)

The Shrewsbury String Quartet was easy to work with and did an incredible job. About two weeks before the wedding I picked non-traditional music for the ceremony and they were able to transpose the songs for me!!! As a very busy graduate student it was wonderful to work with such a kind and accommodating vendor! I highly recommend them!

I went into my wedding thinking I was very pleased with my selection for the ceremony music. Tony Gizzi was extremely nice and easy to work with, very helpful with suggestions, each to get in touch with, etc. However, during the ceremony they sounded out of tune and completely missed playing the song for my mom to walk down the aisle to. I was very disapointment and should have just gone with the music with my band (they have string options, too). Center State Entertainment is the company I used for reception music (their main band) - they were phenominal.

Please do not use them! Yes they get back to you quickly, work with you, and arrive on time but not worth it. They played just for my ceremony and messed up horribly . The Rabbi had to yell at them to even start playing, she litterelly yelled, JUST PLAY SOMETHING! Then they started my recessional song after I was down the aisle. They weren't paying attention to the first kiss and watching me get my flowers to know to start. For what I paid, and they played 3 songs, and they messed up 2 out of 3. I'm shocked they didn't offer to refund me money so I could avoid writing this in an effort to save face.
