Talk about a party!
10/10 experience!!! David was our main point of contact during planning and was super communicative and easy to work with. When plans changed and we ended up with Douglas for our wedding, it honestly turned out better than we could’ve imagined. Everything ran smoothly, the vibes were perfect, and the dance floor stayed packed all night long. Communication was on point, the party energy was unreal, and we had SO many guests tell us how much fun they had. If you want a DJ company that truly knows how to throw a party, Shindig DJs is it. Amazing Experience with David from Shindig DJs
David from Shindig DJs was amazing and exactly what we were looking for in a DJ! He was super responsive and easy to work with! I had a last-minute change to the length of our first dance and he was accommodated that no problem. He was also super organized: his website was so helpful in establishing the flow of the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, which was so nice since I was planning everything myself and didn’t know what I was doing. When we met to discuss our final playlist, he had everything printed out, answered my many questions, and offered suggestions for how we could make everything seamless but also end the party with a hype song. David was super prepared and obviously knew what he was doing, so I felt so comfortable and knew we were in good hands! He also was fun! He was professional but also you can tell he loves what he does, and it translated onto our dance floor, which was super important to me (dancing is my favorite part of wedding receptions). He played all of our “love/must play” songs and incorporated music that went along with the vibe of our music selection. If you are considering Shindig DJs, specifically David, I would highly encourage you to do so! I had multiple friends say how much fun they had (and how they had never seen their husbands dance so much) and how much they loved the music. I had an absolute blast at my wedding, and I would highly recommend working with David and Shindig DJs!

Our Wedding
David and Shindig DJs absolutely crushed it at our wedding! My wife and I actually chose to use Shindig DJs after seeing how well the performed at our friend's wedding, and we were not disappointed. David even met with us twice virtually to walk through the entire day, and we could tell that he took his job seriously and was genuinely focused his customer service. David Smyth was INCREDIBLE as our wedding DJ! He truly exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. From the very beginning, his organization and attention to detail made the entire process as stress-free as possible. The online portal was incredibly user-friendly, allowing us to customize our playlist and timeline with ease.
David had some fantastic ideas that elevated our celebration and really showed us the benefit of choosing a DJ with years of experience and expertise. Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding in May, 2024
I used David Smith from Shindig DJs as my wedding DJ and do not have enough good things to say about him! When choosing a DJ for my wedding I was looking for someone who is fun, outgoing, organized, and knows how to keep the party going. David is all of these things and more! He made sure to listen to my every need and went above and beyond in helping create incredible custom remixes so that the special dreams I had about doing a mother-daughter dance and unique wedding party walkout came true! He's a wonderful collaborator and coordinated with my saxophone player so that the music and timing of my ceremony songs and walk down the aisle came out exactly as I envisioned. He has beautiful uplighting and an amazing sound system, which we couldn't stop getting enough compliments about from our guests. He was always punctual and made sure to arrive early to make sure he had plenty of time to set up. (This really came in handy when he helped us calm our nerves by letting us practice our first dance in my dress while the vendors were still setting up!) He was always quick to respond and available to chat when I had questions. His extensive background in this industry was greatly appreciated and apparent as he had many insightful suggestions on how to create a smoothly flowing reception timeline while keeping the dance floor going. He knows when to play the right songs at the right time and most importantly advocates for what you want on your special day. And may I mention--he has a spectacular deep voice that stands out in a room packed full of guests! I would recommend David Smith to anyone looking for a extraordinary DJ for you wedding and can't appreciate his hard work, dedication, and expertise enough! Thank you David!

DJ Shindij (David) DJ'ed our wedding in June and surpassed our expectations by going above and beyond for our day.
We'll start off with saying that guests obviously pay attention to the dancefloor more than any other responsibility a DJ might have. We have had MANY conversations with our wedding guests where they bring up the DJ saying things like "oh yeah and the DJ was amazing!" or "How did he just keep playing great song after great song!?" so that is OBVIOUSLY what you want to hear about from your guests afterwards as one of their favorite things because the dance floor is a big part of the fun!
All that being said, we knew we made the right decision when we were able to have multiple meetings with him leading up to our wedding. He did a great job in those meetings leading us in a way we were comfortable when we did not have all the answers for how we wanted our wedding day to go. It was clear he's done this hundreds of times, so he guided us through our decisions where we needed them on things we didn't even think about like what music to play during reception and dinner.
On the day of the wedding, we were blown away. My wife and I just didn't realize leading up how big of a role the DJ may play in our wedding (outside of the dancefoor). David did a great job with all of his announcements for dances and speeches and of course for all the ceremony music as well.
As for when it came to dancing from the bride and groom point of view: it was expected that he would get to all of the songs we listed as "must plays" but we obviously were not sure how he would mix around those. He absolutely killed it! He did an amazing job keeping people on the dance floor and playing other songs that people loved to hear that fit in with our provided set list!
He was incredibly professional, while at the same time he clearly was enjoying himself and took pride in making our experience the best it could be. And we had an amazing wedding day that David was a huge part in not only making it run smoothly, but really a fantastically fun event!

Absolutely Incredible!
We recently had our wedding on April 20th 2024. We used Shindig Djs and had the opportunity to have David himself as our DJ. Let me tell you David did not disappoint. The dance floor was electric the entire evening that we had him up until the very end!
Our venue was in the mountains just outside of Idaho springs. The drive to get to the is quite the trek and of course it was snowing. We never heard any issues from David on making it to the venue. When we arrived David was already set up and the venue was completely decked out in lighting and to make the atmosphere even more immersive.
During the ceremony there were absolutely no issues with sound or connection issues. The toasts went off without a hitch. For the dances I made it complicated and had David switch between multiple songs for my mom and I and he did it perfectly.
The dancing is where the magic happened. David did an incredible job with the song set and would read the room very quickly if there wasn't a good vibe with a song and would perfectly transition to the next song. This barely happened as he knew exactly what he was doing.
I highly recommend David and Shindig Djs to anyone who is having a wedding or really any event! I can see why they are so highly recommended and reviewed!

David made sure we had a great experience - start to finish!
We were introduced to David because the original DJ we reached out to was already booked for our big day. And we are so glad we got connected! David was very personable yet professional from our first call/email through our big day. During our introduction call we all were laughing and having a fun time – just on a video call! If it was that enjoyable to talk with David on a call, we knew he’d be even more entertaining in person for our guests. The planning stage with David was incredibly easy and he made sure all our favorite songs/requests were played during our reception! Throughout the entire process David made sure all our questions were answered and we were ready for our big day – especially for our dances. He helped us brainstorm how to handle the Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dance – something we had been somewhat dreading. Day of, David did his thing – he was set up where he needed to be throughout the event and kept the timing of the evening on track. We are very thankful for all of David’s help during our big day! Our guests enjoyed him as well!

The Best Experience!
If I could give David 10 stars, I would. Even prior to our wedding we were so impressed by his professionalism, promptness, and kindness throughout the process. Our music taste is a bit off from the norm, and he absolutely nailed it. We requested bluegrass background music for our cocktail hour and dinner, which wasn’t even one of his genre options, and he managed to put together an amazing bluegrass covers playlist that got so many compliments from our guests because it was so good. He kept the party and announcements running super smooth, and then for the reception, he played all of the songs we had requested and more, and kept the dance floor full with all of the music that we and our friends love to hear. Couldn’t thank him enough and would recommend him 100%!

Best Dance Party Ever!
I really enjoyed working with David for our wedding. From the beginning, the process was so easy, but also very thorough. David makes certain he know exact versions of songs that you want, has the entire timeline figured out so that he doesn't miss a single cue, and worked with our other vendors to make sure everyone had mics and know where to set up equipment.
On the day of the wedding, everything was seamless. All of our guests kept making comments about how great our DJ is and that he has the best announcer voice. He made sure everyone who made a speech knew exactly when and where they needed to be. When it came time to the dancing, it was truly the dance party of our dreams. It had all of our favorite party songs and I could not stop smiling the entire time. The songs were in the perfect order and mixed together so well. I would recommend Shindig DJs 100 times over!

Great DJ for Reception
David was such a wonderful DJ! We had a reception at Bigsby's Folly and he made the night so special. David kept the party going with fun music and cool lighting. Incredible Experience from Request to Cleanup
I truly cannot express in a written review how amazing the experience was working with David. He came highly recommended by our wedding venue and after I contacted him over email, we heard back right away and had a quick phone call about what we wanted. When we had to reschedule everything due to COVID, he was so prompt in responding and getting everything moved asap. They use a web portal to get all the information he needs (What introductions will they need to make? What setup is necessary? What songs are must play/do not play?) and then we had a quick video call a bit before the event to clear up everything on both sides. He was so casual and flexible with all our interactions and a professional through and through. Plus he has a quintessential DJ voice so he must have been born to do it! The prep work was outstanding but obviously the big question is how things went on the big day. I've had no fewer than 10 wedding guests tell me how impressed they were with the DJ. When do you ever hear that?! There was somebody on the dance floor for EVERY. SINGLE. SONG. No joke. David mixed it up so well for the different ages and kept the energy perfect all night.

Amazing DJ!
David was absolutely amazing! He transformed my venue with his lighting and floor monogram to have such a romantic ambiance. He walked me through the entire day and made sure that every moment that I wanted to happen came true. He hyped the crowd up and really did an outstanding job especially with planning having to happen over zoom and phone calls. He did a perfect job for our wedding. He was organized, experienced, no maintenance, made it personal, and so easy. After our meeting with him I said “Okay I feel better about all of it. I trust him to make sure it goes well.” We didn’t have a ton of opinions or ideas and he was able to guide us to make the right decisions for the flow without making us feel bad about the things we did want. We had game day shifts that we did and he made it happen without any stress. Our wedding planner is using her for her wedding...that is high praise!

Fabulous David of Shindig
David from DJ Shindig did an amazing job for our Daughter and our new son-in-law wedding, which was held on June 15th, 2019. David’s deep and radio talk sound voice made it more interesting and fun. With his signature sound he produced the most natural, authentic voice to the wedding guest I have ever heard. He kept in contact with us during the planning process and went over high-level details such as equipment needed for the venue and Chaplain, general playlist, and much more, this also included the final details such as wedding party introductions, toasts, first songs, etc. David walked us through the entire process and took care of ALL of the miscellaneous behind-the-scenes issues with the venue and wedding coordinator.
On the wedding day, David was all setup and ready to go well in advance before the start of the wedding ceremony. He executed everything to perfection and went above and beyond in helping to keep the wedding ceremony and reception flowing smoothly.
David followed through the list of songs and kept the dance floor pack and kept the wedding guest engaged. We’re 100% happy the way the music was played, very professional, lighting was perfect especially the up/lights and announcing what’s next on the agenda, he made everyone fell as if they were part of the family.
David went above and beyond our expectations. He made this a very special day for my daughter and new son-in-law. Many guests stated this was the BEST wedding they ever went to and the DJ was a vital part in this role. I would highly recommend David at DJ Shindig for any events and I do recommend the up/lights, this made the venue more elegant and the phots even more spectacular. My absolute FAVORITE part of my wedding was when I looked out from the dancefloor to 18 completely empty tables. Every single one of my 130 guests was tearing it up on the dancefloor, singing their hearts out and having the time of their lives—all thanks to David Smith. I have been to many weddings that were, well, boring. David’s vivacious personality, impeccable ability to read a room, and positively radiant energy made our wedding absolutely perfect! Guests are still raving about how amazing our DJ was! He made sure we were comfortable every step of the way, too—from booking Shindig to even weeks after, David is communicative, kind, and understanding. Trigger songs you don’t want to play? He’s got a no-play list. Crowd not feeling the vibe? He’s already got a better song cued up. He knows how to liven up a party like no one I’ve seen before (with the coolest voice ever, I might add) and Evan and I are so INCREDIBLY thankful for him and everything he did for us!

David was our DJ this past September for our 200 person wedding in Evergreen. He was very accommodating, professional and experienced! From making sure our every wish came true when it came to timeline, specific songs, playlists, etc to having worked our venue many times, he put wedding planning stresses at ease! He not only played great music and provided sound/audio, but manages your timeline and keeps the night moving just as you want it. I felt like he knew exactly what we needed it - when we needed it! We hired Shindig DJ’s at the recommendation of our caterer, and we couldn’t be more impressed. David was incredibly nice and professional. He was helpful throughout the whole process and followed up with several phone calls along the way to make sure we had everything we wanted included in the reception. I didn’t realize how helpful he would be moving the event along, dismissing tables to the buffet, corralling people for toasts etc. He was like having a second wedding coordinator! David was awesome! From our first meeting, he was organized, responsive, and so accommodating. He listened to all of our requests and even made recommendations! I loved his online planning site for music-it made everything really easy. We also did lighting through Shindig and it was perfect.
Most of all-our dance floor was full the ENTIRE night! People had to wait for other people to get off to dance. We had break dancing, plenty of dance offs, and even a conga line! Thank you David for making our reception such a blast and so memorable :)

We could not have asked for more from David Smith and Shindig DJs. David was AMAZING and executed all our hopes beautifully. His music choices for our cocktail and dinner hours were exactly what we were hoping for and our guests even took the time to stop us to let us know how much they enjoyed the choices. Additionally, his addition of up lighting at our event brought an added level to our venue that was incredible. With so many choices one has to make when planning a wedding, picking Shindig DJs was the easiest one we had and well worth it. Thank you David and Shindig DJ's!! You truly made our day!

Shannon was a blast! She was great through the plannimg stages and always kept in touch, which was nice for me because when I get super busy I'm not the best at reaching out! Working with David and Shannon from Shindigs was such a stress-free, positive experience! Shannon worked our wedding. Before the big day, she met us in person to plan, she organized all the day of details in helpful emails and coordinated with the venue. She had a great personality which put our stresses at ease! During the reception, she played a great mix of music which kept young and old guests dancing all night! We were so impressed by this company and would happily recommend them to anyone!

We wanted a DJ that we could meet in person and not just some company that would send one of 20 DJ’s out to our wedding based on the online form. David with Shindig DJ’s went above and beyond our expectations. He drove out to our home in a blizzard for the first meeting. Then once we knew he “was the one” we were able to meet with him again in person to review our online profile. Our venue was not a typical Denver Metro venue and was well out of his way to provide services. He and his staff were spot on in every delivery from the lights to introductions (no names were wrong! Super happy about that after reading so many competitors reviews!) and not to mention the best wedding dance party ever. My family and friends still to this day say it was the best wedding they ever attended. Thanks to David and Shindig DJ’s for making our day remarkable and flawless! I recommend them to everyone I know planning their special day!

DJ Dave did an amazing job making my wedding an event that my guests are still talking about a year later. I've heard from countless people that my wedding was the best one they've ever been to. Having a good DJ was one of our top priorities for our wedding and David with Shindig DJs did not disappoint! He made the process so easy from start to end. He even met with us in person to ensure our song selections and timeline for the wedding were all in sync. Most importantly, his MC/DJ skills were AMAZING day of and our guests loved the surprise final song selection!

Fantastic DJ! He went above and beyond to ensure we had a fun night with our wedding guest and even stayed later then he needed as we requested a few last minute songs. Our dance floor was never empty! David turned out to be our last minute DJ as our original DJ was unable to attend. For him discussing details just 3 days before our wedding the word professional doesn't even come close. David even encountered a bad wiring issue before the ceremony (no thanks to our venue) but due to his calm demeanor none of the guests knew. David is fun, organized, detail oriented, and above all an AMAZING DJ!!!

David was the DJ of choice for our daughter's wedding reception. Our daughter mentioned that he was easy to work with during the planning stages. As for costs, VERY reasonable, and the payment process was very easy to take care of. Prior to the reception he showed up on time, quietly went about setting up, and was ready to go when the reception started. My wife and I found him personable and accommodating. Those in attendance enjoyed the music and the high energy of David's work. I can recommend him without reservation!!

AMAZING work. Truly a professional. EVERYONE complimented Dave! Seriously, from our wedding officiant to guests, we didn't expect people to be talking about the dj well after the wedding was over. One guest said, "It seems like the everyone just stayed on the dance floor and never left. That was the best DJ I have seen at a wedding!" Seriously, you won't go wrong; he made our day and we can't thank him enough. When planning, you learn quickly it brings joy to you when the guests have fun and the great comments kept coming for this dj.

David KILLED it!! He did an amazing job of selecting the right music based on what we liked, keeping the crowd engaged and informed. David was supposed to play until midnight and when the floor was still packed he was willing to keep the party going. David happily stayed until 230 am and actually left the site around 4 am. Dave was amazing! He helped us plan out the timeline of the reception which was a stressful experience for me before he got involved. He was early the day of and was able to adjust quickly when our ceremony had to move inside due to rain. He had all the songs we wanted and knew exactly what I was talking about regarding songs to avoid. He is exceptional at his job and I will recommend him to all my friends.

David was an amazing DJ. He made ALL of our wants a reality. He was patient with any changes or request we had. We had given very specific genre of music that was not typical for a wedding and he went and did all the research and made it spectacular! We received several compliments on our music not only from the guests but also from the Venue staff. They even wanted to get out and dance with us.. If ever we need a DJ again for any type of event Shindigs will for sure be our first call..

We are so glad we booked with Shindig DJs! We interviewed 6 DJ companies and Shindig was slightly higher in price than 4 of them, but it was for obvious reasons. Shannon was our selected DJ and she was so attentive. We met with her in person before our wedding date and she gave us telephone time, as well. Shindig's online planning system was super easy. The night was perfect and Shannon executed it like a wedding planner, in addition to a DJ! If you are considering Shindig DJs, we highly recommend them. You won't regret spending a little bit more for a lot better service!

Shindig DJs did a superb job at our wedding. Chris worked at our reception, and he was affable, professional and accommodating. Our ceremony started late, thereby carving into the allotted time for the reception. But, in his eagerness to please, Chris asked us if he could stay late and keep the party rolling, so he ended up providing dance music for an additional hour. We would recommend Shindig DJs for any wedding reception.
