I loved working with Penelope from Shimmer & Spice for my wedding day makeup! Penelope always wanted to ensure that I was comfortable with my look from the trial to the wedding day itself. And I was so thrilled with the results - I truly felt so beautiful and like I looked like myself (but better!), and my bridal party looked incredible too! I love the custom lipstick shade she created for me that I now have as a keepsake and can remember my wedding day every time I wear it. Thank you so much, Penelope and S&S!! -

Very nice/professional company! I had two trials, and my make up artist Dani nailed it on the second trial, incorporating all of my feedback from the first trial. I have been in so many weddings and never liked my make up, so it was nice to have a few trial runs with a makeup artist so they could learn my features. I looked very natural and just like ME which is what I wanted, so I was so happy that for the first time I loved how my make up looked at a wedding! -

Shimmer and Spice was the best to work with for my wedding. My makeup and the rest of the women's makeup was perfect throughout the day! Penelope was my make up artist. Starting from the trial, she was so personable and made me feel at ease. We discussed how I normally did my makeup, what I liked and what I didn't and came up with the perfect look. When it came time for the wedding, it felt like I was meeting up with a friend to do my makeup. I'm so grateful for Shimmer and Spice for helping me feel beautiful and confident on such an important day. -

Briana and Maria did such a beautiful job with natural glam makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and important family members on my wedding day. Briana is the sweetest ever. Working with her was a dream! She nailed my makeup look, it was exactly what I wanted. I asked for a few slight tweaks after my trial, and she was super receptive to my feedback. She made me feel so comfortable and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for me. Briana did three generations: me, my mother, and my grandmother. We all looked and felt like the most beautiful version of ourselves! Maria was also super friendly, she did a great job on my bridesmaids and the mother of the groom. I was so pleased with Shimmer & Spice. Their professionalism, communication, and talented makeup artists were exactly what I needed on my wedding day. -

Briana from Shimmerandspice did an amazing job with my wedding makeup. I was nervous about wedding makeup since I hardly wear much makeup at all. Briana listened to all of my concerns and didn’t pressure me into any makeup choices that I didn’t like. I’m very pale with light blonde eyebrows and I was so scared of full glam looks, but Briana created a makeup look that felt true to me and I still felt/looked like myself on my wedding day. The shimmerandspice studio for makeup trials is so cute and clean, and their team is extremely communicative and easy to work with. Briana made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day and I would recommend her to any bride! -

Dani is an angel on earth
Working with the Shimmer & Spice team was nothing short of amazing. From picking services to contacting the team for a trial, communication was FAST! and very easy.
Dani is an angel in earth. Obviously she made me look stunning but, she really made me feel relaxed, confident (and sexy!) wedding morning.
I was able to do a trial with Dani (highly recommend). The studio is adorable but more importantly, Dani gave a through consultation to ensure I was getting the “look” I wanted.
Wedding morning, Dani & Yana showed up smiling and we’re able to tweak techniques depending on the different asks of my bridesmaids, moms, aunts to make everyone look and feel so gorgeous!!!
I will continue to recommend S&S (Dani and Yana) to any newly engaged bride. Thank you so much for taking care of me and my girls 🧡 -

I’m so incredibly grateful to Dani and Briana for taking such amazing care of me and my wedding party’s makeup. Everyone looked absolutely stunning, and all I heard throughout the day were wonderful compliments about the both of them. A special shoutout to Briana for going the extra mile with touch-ups—since we had so many first looks and portraits before the ceremony we were able to add additional time to our timeline. It was an emotional afternoon, and she truly saved us from worrying about our makeup holding up. She ensured we all felt flawless heading into the ceremony.
Dani was an absolute pleasure to work with. She listened attentively to what I wanted and created the soft glam look I was hoping for while ensuring I still felt like myself. I felt so beautiful and confident, and the makeup lasted all night. My entire wedding party loved working with them—they were both so kind and easy to talk to. I can’t wait to see the pictures from our photographer because me and everyone else felt absolutely beautiful!
I had a party of 10, and my wedding party included a diverse range of skin tones. Dani and Briana were incredible in ensuring everyone’s makeup matched perfectly, which is always appreciated. They were incredibly efficient, even staying ahead of schedule, which allowed us all to relax throughout the morning. There was no rushing or stressing, and we had the time to truly enjoy the day. I recently had the pleasure of working with Shimmer & Spice for my September 2023 wedding.
Hailey was our lead artist and Ashley was our associate artist. They were both great! They provided makeup for myself, my bridal party of five, my sister, and two moms, all of whom have different ages, styles, comfort levels with makeup, and skin tones.
From start to finish, Hailey and Ashley were professional, punctual, incredibly kind, and such a fun presence the morning of the wedding. They took the time to understand each person's preferences and comfort levels, ensuring everyone felt and looked their best.
Kristyn, the owner, is also wonderful! I was having some skin issues before the wedding and she went above and beyond to help me. The products she recommended to me have become staples in my routine. -

The Shimmer and Spice Team far exceeded my expectations!! Starting with my trial with Megan - her and Kristyn were so lovely to hang out with and get to know while I had some champagne and tried out my wedding look. Their store is so adorable and I chose to add on a custom lip color to bring on wedding day. This team was so fantastic with communication, sending me a timeline for day of over a month in advance and making all proposal updates super easy through their portal! Megan and the team were such a lovely presence on wedding day and made all of the girls look STUNNING! I loved my makeup so much, it was so light but still glam and truly just looked like an elevated version of myself which I really wanted instead of a ton of makeup that didn’t look like me. I would recommend this group to any bride looking to have good vibes on her day, excellent/no stress communication and a beautiful look that’s tailored to you!! -

I found Shimmer and Spice on IG, loved everything I saw, and they did not disappoint! We could not have felt more lucky to have had Megan and Briana as our artists on my special day. They came prepared and stayed on schedule to get all 8 faces done on time and to perfection. We are a family that does not wear a ton of makeup, nor do we understand it at the slightest, which was a little intimidating. But these two took a natural approach with all of us and made us feel like ourselves but elevated to queen status! Not only am I completely confident in recommending these two based on their skills, talent and expertise, but we felt like we welcomed two long time friends into our house, which is exactly what you need and want on your big day.
Additionally, the communication leading up to the day, including some facetime with Megan, was beyond professional and comforting. THANK YOU! -

I'm SO glad we used Shimmer and Spice for our wedding! I don't usually wear much make up and knew I wanted a natural look, but was originally nervous because any other time I'd gotten my make up done in the past it never felt like "me". My trial with Kristyn was the first time I actually LOVED my make up and was excited about it! Kristyn was AMAZING all around - she also helped me with products since I was trying to learn, made a custom lip color that I loved, and continued to check in and offer help with the products I bought. In addition, my mom has very sensitive skin and Kristyn helped her over the phone too. My mom had gotten reactions to her make up the last 3 times she had it done but not at my wedding! Kristyn and the entire Shimmer and Spice team were great to work with. Of course my bridesmaids looked amazing too! If I need my make up done in the area again, I'll be asking Kristyn! -

The Shimmer and Spice team was superb to work with for my wedding! I wanted a natural look that made me feel like myself but that still had a bit of glam and wow to it, specifically a glam eye. Darian hit it out of the park. She was so easy to work with and knew exactly what my skin needed to look perfect. I also have a gluten allergy, something that phases a lot of makeup artists, but not Darian. She went above and beyond, researching to make sure each product was safe for my skin. The team uses a different set of brushes for each girl, which was also really nice. Maria joined Darian on the day of and between both of them, everyone looked amazing. My SIL gave birth 6 days before the wedding and Maria even took extra time to make her feel and look amazing, despite her exhaustion. -

It was very important to me to look like a subtly glamorous version of myself on my wedding day. Shimmer and Spice achieved this look not only for me but for all of my bridal party.
I had contacted Shimmer and Spice after endlessly scrolling through the Philadelphia area Instagram wedding inspo and realizing their company was the make-up artists for most of the weddings where I noticed the bride's make-up.
On the day of my wedding, Shimmer and Spice arrived on time and stayed on schedule. I was concerned that we would fall behind due to the number of people (10 of us!) requiring hair/make-up, but their professionalism and expertise made for an easy day.
I can't thank Kristyn and her team enough for making my wedding day extra special and highly recommend them for make-up services, especially if you are looking for a beautiful, elevated version of yourself.

I booked Shimmer and Spice over a year in advance for my Feb 2023 wedding - I knew I wanted a natural look, but still full coverage glam. Maggie did not disappoint! She was so helpful in my trial and even showed examples of how makeup translates into photos so that I was comfortable and able to make better adjustments. On wedding day we tweaked a few things and she DELIVERED! She and Megan made sure my whole group looked fantastic. They were both ahead of schedule all morning, and Megan was also incredibly responsive via email the entire planning process. Could not recommend enough! -

Meg, our makeup lead for our wedding, made sure everyone felt and looked their best - The team listened to exactly what everyone wanted and made sure to deliever a look that did just that! I seriously felt like the best version of myself, which is exactly what I wanted for my wedding day! There were 12 people getting our makeup done and we finished exactly when they said we would with everyone LOVING how their makeup turned out. Flawless makeup!
Kristen and her partner did an amazing job on myself and my girls! As someone who does not wear makeup very often I was really nervous to have my makeup done and not feel like myself. I also have a ton of freckles that I did not want covered up or cakey heavy foundation. Kristen listened to everything I wanted and my makeup was flawless! She was so sweet, everything ran on time and they did touch ups before leaving. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and my sister just booked the company as well for her wedding next year!

Great experience beginning to end with Shimmer & Spice. Kristyn, the owner, is so kind and talented. She unfortunately got sick and at the last minute sent us a different artist, Penelope, who ended up being incredible. I can not put into words how appreciative I am that Kristyn and Megan were the makeup artists on my wedding day. As someone with sensitive, dry skin they worked their magic and made me look completely flawless with my makeup lasting all day/night. My mom and bridesmaids were so impressed with their natural glam makeup looks as well and we all felt absolutely gorgeous. Perfect Natural Wedding Look
So glad to have been matched with Penelope for my wedding day! I was graciously referred to S&S by Emily Dimant, an artist no longer living in the area. Because I live out of state, I opted to skip the trial. However, Penelope was kind enough to set up a Zoom call to chat through what kind of look I wanted. Very quickly, after showing some Pinterest inspired photos, we were able to quickly align on the look--which she nailed on the actual wedding day.
She also did the makeup for my bridal party, and was very considerate to ensure everyone was happy with their look. For example, she made sure to double check with me that my mother was happy with hers, since there is a language barrier.

Simply the best
THE. BEST. I had the pleasure of using Shimmer and Spice when I was a bridesmaid in my best friend’s wedding in September 2016. Fast forward to 2020–I reached out to Kristyn March of 2020 for our originally planned wedding in October 2020, but because of Covid, we rescheduled for October 2021. If there is anything I’ve learned about the wedding planning process, it's how vendors handled Covid weddings, and Kristyn did not disappoint. She was flexible and understanding from the beginning. Not only was it such a stress-free process during such an uncertain time, but the end result was AMAZING. Kristyn has an amazing team–we were lucky enough to have Penelope and Darian for our day. It was a relaxing morning getting ready with them while listening to 90’s pop hits and everyone singing along–which was much needed with pre-wedding jitters. Penelope and Darian are true artists. They really made everyone LOOK and FEEL beautiful that day. Everyone (moms, bridesmaids and myself) could not stop raving about their work. Penelope slayed the glam look I was going for and it truly pulled my whole look together. My make-up was flawless the ENTIRE day. Do yourself a favor and book with Shimmer and Spice. I had a wonderful experience using Shimmer and Spice (Darian) for my September 2021 wedding. Darian and DeAnna did such an amazing job with all of my girls makeup. My bridesmaids and I tend to wear minimal makeup, and have been in weddings where we have had our makeup done professionally and have been disappointed. I had a trial with Darian and was so confident she would make me look amazing on the big day, and I was truly blown away. She was also so professional but also easy to talk to and made me feel super relaxed the moment that I met her. On my wedding day, some bridesmaids came up to me and said that they have never liked their makeup more when done professionally! Darian and DeAnna truly catered to everyone's requests. Shimmer and Spice is a must book vendor on your wedding day! They are so sweet to work with and made the whole planning process so easy. Penelope is amazing at what she does! She understood exactly what I was looking for even though I probably didn't really give a great description. My makeup was the perfect natural glam that they are famous for and held up all day and night. Both Penelope and Hailey did the makeup for the rest of the girls and they all looked gorgeous! Highly recommend them!! -

Maggie, Hailey, & Kristyn were absolutely wonderful! Especially among all the COVID craziness they were so easy to work with. I have nothing but great things to say about Shimmer & Spice! These girls are perfect if you are looking for a more natural and not too heavy makeup look for your wedding. Penelope and Megan were so much fun to work with. They made getting ready with my bridesmaids so exciting, we enjoyed all of the conversations and laughter that was shared during the makeup process. They are organized and have a great system running in making sure that each girl has a time slot for when to get their makeup done. I was highly pleased with how my makeup turned out and how it lasted throughout a night filled with rain, sweat and lots of happy tears. (P.S. Their false lashes are 100% worth it. Trust me, you will not regret it! -

Hiring Shimmer and Spice was one of the best decisions I made throughout my wedding planning process! These women are INCREDIBLE. From our first communication, it was clear that customer service is a top priority. Like many covid brides, we postponed our wedding once before deciding to have a microwedding instead. Throughout that entire stressful process, Shimmer and Spice were not only flexible and willing to work with us, but they also treated us with so much compassion and understanding- it was appreciated beyond words. Despite having my original trial with Maggie (who was amazing!), I was lucky enough to have Penelope available on our new wedding date. Penelope is a master of her craft and a true professional. She truly listened to the preferences of each family member having their makeup done and was also able to provide her recommendations, and everyone looked SO beautiful. Not to mention, she was so much fun to talk to and spend time with on my wedding morning! She is so warm and friendly- we were all grateful to have her there with us. Penelope took safety/covid precautions seriously, which really helped everyone feel comfortable and safe throughout the morning. I would also recommend the unique custom lipstick feature that Shimmer and Spice offers. After talking with Penelope about the shade I was hoping for, Kristyn was able to produce a gorgeous, high quality lipstick for me that I can now wear and remember our wedding day!

Shimmer & Spice owner, Kristyn, went above and beyond for me as a bride. I had my first trial well over a year before my wedding, which to some is crazy. My makeup style is very simple & I knew I wanted to work with Shimmer and Spice because their content showed how they showcase and optimize someone's natural beauty. I have fairish skin with freckles and each makeup artist listened when I said "Please don't cover them." I had to shift makeup artists 3 times since booking due to changing dates because of COVID-19 and because of some exposures. With all the changing I never once felt like I was being tossed around. Kristyn genuinely cares about all of her clients and I could not have felt more beautiful when I had the pleasure of having Penelope do my makeup day of. My bridal party would say the same with Megan. Both women were professional and kind and made sure we felt our best beautiful selves. I highly recommend Shimmer and Spice and can say without a doubt that Kristyn has a team of incredible makeup artists and you cannot go wrong with any of them! -

Wedding Makeup Follow Up, Amazing!
I reviewed my experience with Kristyn after my bridal makeup trial back in September 2020 because I could tell then how talented she was, but I wanted to follow up now, after having my wedding!
As someone who doesn't wear makeup, aside from special events, I really wanted to find someone who could make me feel like the most beautiful version of myself, while still looking like me, which is exactly what Kristyn did! All of my girls and mother in law looked and felt amazing and our makeup held up all night, through moments of misty rain and sweating on the dance floor!
I also purchased a lip color from Kristyn which she made for me to wear that day, it was creamy and moisturizing, with a really lovely coconut scent to it! This came in handy for reapplying through out the night after eating and drinking!
Aside from being an incredible makeup artist, Kristyn is so sweet and personable and a calming energy to have on your big day! I would hire her again in a heartbeat! -

I could not be happier that I decided to go with Shimmer and Spice for my wedding makeup! Kristyn and my lead artist Maggie were so wonderful through all of the ups and downs of a wedding in 2020! They were in constant communication with me and I never felt like I had to worry about a thing. They had everything covered from creating a day of timeline to suggesting the perfect lip color . The day of my wedding, Maggie and Megan not only did amazing work on all of the girls, but were honestly so fun to hang out with! Wee have girls request all different types of makeup styles. From super glam to super natural to even makeup for my grandma's, they nailed it all and made us all feel beautiful! The makeup lasted all night long and looked flawless in pictures! I would 100% recommend Shimmer and Spice to anyone looking for the most beautiful, natural look makeup! -

Kristyn is the most incredible make up artist EVER. I have nothing but the most amazing things to say about working with her and the rest of the Shimmer and Spice team. From the second we started working with her she was friendly, warm, professional and informative. I knew from her Instagram her style was exactly what I wanted and was so natural looking. On the actual wedding day Kristyn was so sick but still came and did my make up and made sure it was absolutely perfect. Every single one of my bridesmaids said it was the prettiest they’ve ever felt. My wedding was 3 months ago and we still talk about how amazing Kristyn and Shimmer and Spice are. Cannot recommend them enough!!!!! -
