When my husband and I saw the ballroom at the Sheraton, Garden Grove, we were in love. It’s a true hidden gem on what seems to be “hotel row” because of the Disneyland resort. We had looked at several of other hotels before stopping in to see this one and thought it was so small they probably didn’t have a ballroom. Boy were we WRONG!!!
I planned my whole wedding, design and colors around their whole ballroom. Being a graphic designer I have a tendency to think differently than others. Some would call it backwards but any designer would probably understand.
The room is truly beautiful and you don’t need anything to dress it up. That was the first thing I noticed so I was going to be able to save a ton of money by that alone. I was also planning a D.I.Y. wedding.
The catering manager on staff, who acted as our wedding coordinator, was Jennifer Morris. We cannot say enough great things about her. She went over and beyond to help us make our day perfect.
1. We were able to coordinate a day when our DJ was coming down to place the uplights in the room.
2. We also had a food tasting of our buffet that we had requested the same day as the DJ meeting.
3. She helped us out on obtaining a fire permit for our 367 candles.
4. She helped us out with a linen problem that happened last minute. Even suggested a vendor she’s used over the years.
5. She made sure we had enough time to set up our whole reception since it was a D.I.Y. wedding.
6. She answered every single one of our questions and concerns through both phone calls and countless emails.
The whole staff at the Sheraton were so accommodating, gracious and helpful. The day we were setting up we had management come in a couple of times to see if we wanted or needed anything. The guys helping set up the dinnerware were great too. We just had such an awesome experience having our wedding at the Sheraton. Not only was it beautiful but the whole experience was more than we could’ve ever asked for.
