    My husband and I were looking for a reception venue that would allow us to bring in our own alcohol and and use a family friend as our caterer. At most venues, you have to use their licensed caterers and their alcohol, and they charge you an arm and a leg for food minimums, corking fees, etc. I was surprised when we found Shamrock Hall, which allowed us to do exactly what we wanted! We didn't have to choose from a list of caterers, there was a commercial grade kitchen for our caterer to use, and we were allowed to bring in our own bottles of wine, kegs of beer, and liter bottles of liquor. On top of that, the hall manager (Denise) was extremely helpful. She has clearly done this many times before, as she was prepared for every question we threw her way. She was also very helpful the day before our wedding when we were setting up the reception hall. She helped us set things out, ironed some of our tablecloths, and gave her opinion when I wasn't exactly sure what to do.

    It was spacious enough for our 250 guests, no one felt crowded, and there was plenty of room for the dance floor without having to move any tables. There was also plenty of room for a big head table up front (my sister and I had a double wedding, so we had 18 people up there!) The biggest perks were being able to hire our own catering, alcohol, and cake which allowed us to save quite a chunk of money. They were also very flexible and quickly responded to our questions. We mostly brought everything in ourselves to save money, but they had plenty of options to rent things through them as well.

    This hall is flexible. What I mean is you can bring in your own caterer, cake and alcohol. With doing this, we were able to afford to entertain 310 of our closest family and friends for our wedding reception. Bringing in your own food and alcohol helps save a lot of money. The woman who runs the hall, however, is a pill. She was rude to one of my guests who wanted water/pop during dinner when the bar closed. The groom was also not happy with her. Overall, we were happy with the hall, they just need to lose the hall manager and it would be the best place to have a wedding. Oh, and it has beautiful high ceilings and everything is completely redone, it is really a beautiful hall!

    It is also a one stop shop. They supply the pop, decor, cups and table linens if you would like and that is why i spent so much. I did it all through them for more convenience.

    Half way through our planning process we had a new event coordinator who ended up being an extreme issue! The only reason we stayed with this hall is because it had enough space for all our guest and we could bring in our own caterer and alcohol. After talking to the manager at the hall about the event coordinator, things got a little better. She added more stress than help.

    We try to go above and beyond the expectations of our clients. In this case, we are sorry that our policy did not allow our client to bring in an unlicensed caterer to prepare and serve food in our hall. However, we were happy that our client was able to hire an excellent licensed caterer of their choice to make their reception a success. We were also happy that we were able to open the hall early for this reception, at the client's request, giving our client 9 hours instead of the typical 7-1/2 hours for their event. Additionally, at our client's special request, we were happy to delay the removal of our outdoor Christmas lights, so that they could be left in place to complement our client's winter wonderland wedding theme. It was also our pleasure, at the client's request, to provide them with 2 fully furnished family room and bride's room at no additional cost. This was a beautiful well-planned wedding reception and we hope, that in some way, we contributed to the success.
