We used Shady Grove for our wedding florals and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. I told Courtney what I had in mind and she took it and ran with it! I honestly had no idea what to expect and when I first walked in and saw the bridal bouquet I was nearly in tears, the colors, the vision, everything was stunning. Our guests and even our other wedding vendors could not stop talking about how fun, beautiful and colorful our day was! Love looking back at photos and seeing all the pops of color for our end of summer wedding. Also so kind and wonderful to work with- she made everything so easy! -

Shady Grove absolutely nailed it with our wedding florals. It truly set off the night, and we were all thrilled with how long our bouquets and boutonnieres looked great (like a week later). Courtney was so patient with me during the planning phase, and I didn't see any of the flowers except my bouquet before walking into my ceremony, and when I did, they truly took my breath away. Also we had a very last-minute switch from outside to inside (it very randomly snowed on 4/9/22) and you would never have known that she hadn't planned the florals exactly that way all along. Just absolute perfection. Also- the photo of us dancing is just to show the greenery that was hung from the chandeliers at the venue. So perfect. -

For my destination wedding in Asheville, I purchased my bouquet, flower crowns, and boutonniere from Shady Grove. I sent a few inspiration pics to Courtney, who I mostly communicated via email and on the phone a couple of times. She was great to work with and listened to what I wanted. And her prices are beyond reasonable! Especially considering the HIGH QUALITY she produces.
When I went to pick up my flowers the day before the ceremony, I was blown away. Everything was gorgeous and my bouquet was stunning!
Highly recommend Shady Grove for your wedding or any of your floral needs! -

Michele Sent on 09/10/2018I was absolutely blown away with Courtney from Shady Groves! She did the flowers for my wedding that was two weeks ago, August 25th, 2018. I told her that I was using all sorts of colors to match lanterns that I was bringing from Hoi An. I wanted a 'magical' fairytale land and that is exactly what she gave me. She brought the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen and the vases that she used were stunning! She showed up early and did a fantastic job with the set up. She also worked closely with my cake vendor in order to make the most beautiful cake stand that I have ever seen. I would highly recommend her. Super easy to communicate with even though I was over 600 miles away while planning the wedding. I have only received my sneak peak photos but I can update review with more beautiful flower photos when I receive them.

Nicole Sent on 10/24/2014Courtney superseded our expectations! I knew nothing about flowers and told her what I was looking for! She NAILED it! Our flowers were funky different and AMAZING! We keep getting complements about them weeks later! The bar tenders even wAnted to take them home! Shady grove did a perfect job and I couldn't have chose a better florist for my big day! She listened to what I was looking for and made it happen! Great job- would reccomend to ANYONE! -

Shady Grove worked with my mom on a semi-last-minute bouquet and reception florals contract. They were responsive and kind and super easy to work with: we shipped bud vases to their studio, and they set up and made everything look great! I'd highly recommend working with this vendor. -

Courtney handled the flowers for our wedding rehearsal dinner and they were absolutely gorgeous and so fresh! She made us 10 small table centerpieces for a very reasonable price. She executed my vision perfectly from my fairly vague instructions and delivered the flowers to our venue on time and neatly organized for our coordinator to easily arrange them.
FYI - the flower picture was taken 2 days after the rehearsal dinner. -

Beware: Poor customer service and quality
We used Shady Grove flowers for a small wedding in Asheville in mid 2021. The woman we worked with, Courtney, would take days/weeks to respond to any emails and calls. We had a Sunday wedding, when they are not open, so we had to pick up the flowers on Saturday. She does offer Sunday delivery for a fee, but I’m an event producer and can keep flowers fresh for 24 hours so, we opted to pick up on Saturday, assuming that the flowers we were given would be able to hold up for 24 hours. We picked up the flowers and they were fine looking - kinda what the bride had asked for, nothing mind blowing, but nothing to complain about- they were fine. Unfortunately, 50% of what we were given did not hold up until the wedding. Individual stems in bouquets were dead (not the whole thing), we had 1 useable boutonniere, and no useable corsages. I would hope that if a florist knew that the flowers would be used later, they would be selecting the right flowers - sadly this didn’t happen. We were forced to re-arrange all the bouquets to salvage a few usable ones. We emailed Shady Grove and told them what happened, and the response was “we made beautiful flowers, you obviously ruined them overnight, our contract covers that”. Terrible customer service - they were completely inflexible in even hearing us out, and blamed us. I never even got a response from my last email. So we paid full price and weren’t able to use half of what we paid for, and had to re-arrange bouquets. I have worked with tons of florists and have never experienced anything like this. Disappointing. I hope they do better by other customers in the future, but I strongly recommend you find someone better than Shady Grove Flowers.Shady Grove Flowers's reply:
Context is imperative to understand this particular situation. Our flowers are bought within a day or two of each planned event, meaning they are always as fresh as possible. When kept under the correct cooler conditions (40-43 degrees), the flowers will always be fresh and beautiful the next day. With a small fee, we offer same-day delivery so clients do not need to worry about this often tricky piece of the process. We have coolers which maintain the exact temperature needed to guarantee the fresh design overnight. Our contract is specific in stating that we are not liable for anything that happens to the flowers once they leave our care.
This client stated in an email that the flowers were kept at 36 degrees overnight in three different refrigerators. This is too cold to guarantee overnight freshness, especially for more delicate flowers. As unfortunate as this situation was, we held up our end of the contract with creating beautiful custom arrangements (which were very well received). What happens once flowers leave our hands is simply out of our control. We cannot refund the price of flowers/labor/design for something which could have been avoided with delivery, in addition to it being clearly stated in our contract. We try our absolute best to hear and meet all expectation of our clients, but this particular situation went beyond what we were able to offer considering the signed contract.
