My husband and I hosted our wedding reception here and could not recommend it more! An incredible ambiance, a great selection of delectable food, and absolutely wonderful service. Excellent Venue in heart of DC
Excellent wedding venue! I had a winter wedding on a Sunday and it was beautiful. We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception for 160 guests all at Sequoia. The value was incredible given the prime location. The sales manager was incredible and accommodated all our requests, and the Sequoia staff are true professionals. Also, the fact that this came with one night in the Rose Suite at the Watergate was amazing and where I got ready. The food is truly outstandingd!!! To this day, I have friends and family coming up to me and RAVING about how I had the best food at my wedding. A few things went slightly wrong (kitchen got a little backed up and we were behind schedule) but overall I would definitely recommend this venue.

Gorgeous venue and great experience!
My husband and I fell in love with Sequoia when we first toured the venue. We loved that it was in Georgetown and the gorgeous view of the Potomac River through the floor to ceiling windows. We also loved that the wedding package included food, set up, take down, bar service, and basic table decorations- it made our wedding planning process that much easier! Lila Dougly was an amazing venue coordinator. She was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our planning process.
On the day of our wedding, Sequoia took amaxinf care of us. A small but great example was how they helped us out during our cocktail hour. It’s hard for bride and grooms to find time to eat when you’re trying to say “hi” to all your favorite people, but Sequoia put together a gorgeous platter of all the appetizers for us, so we could sneak away for a few moments and eat. They also always made sure we never went thirsty and always had a drink in hand.
Our guests were absolutely blown away by Sequoia- from the views, to the beautiful venue itself and- what we got the most compliments on- the food! Everyone said it was the best wedding food they ever had. Sequoia was also incredibly mindful of food allergies and dietary restrictions, making the right adjustments for each individual.
The only thing for brides and grooms to be mindful of is Sequoia doesn’t allow for any vendor deliveries before 4pm on the day of the wedding. It didn’t hinder our day, but be aware for planning!
My husband and I had a fantastic experience with Sequoia and recommend to engaged couples looking for a venue.

Beautiful DC venue
Sequoia was a great venue for my June 22 wedding. We ended up with 142 guests and the size and space felt good. Everyone has raved about all our food and how beautiful the space was. We did the duet entree (filet & sea bass) and they were perfect. All our appetizers (chicken tacos, beef sliders, tuna tartare, brie and apricot pastry. vegan potstickers) were delicious and guests loved them. The staff at Sequoia were incredibly professional and did great.
Our photos of the ceremony are gorgeous with all the natural light. I did not want a typical ballroom where I would need to pay for a ton of florals/decorations and Sequoia was absolutely perfect for that! I barely had to add anything extra because the space itsmf is already gorgeous. The view of the river is also spectacular. We got lovely sunset photos on the boardwalk. Lila was incredibly responsive and flexible. I loved working with her! We were incredibly happy with our venue selection and I cannot imagine any other location for my wedding. I would recommend Sequoia to any bride in the DC area!

Beautiful space, amazing food, perfect wedding
It took us six months to find a wedding venue. Once we saw Sequoia though, we knew it was the one. The space inside Sequoia is stunning and was the absolute vibe we were looking for. Lila, the events director, was a dream to work with. She was incredibly nice, super responsive in answering our many questions throughout the planning process, and truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. In addition to the beautiful space Sequoia offers, the food is AMAZING! My family is a tough crowd when it comes to food, and everyone loved the hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, and appetizers, entrées, and desserts during dinner. We plan to do an anniversary dinner at Sequoia every year now. :) Big thank you to the team at Sequoia -- we loved having our wedding there!

the most beautiful venue in DC
Sequoia was the perfect venue for our DC wedding. You have floor to ceiling glass windows that give you the perfect backdrop with the Potomac River, Kennedy Center behind you. The natural lighting is beautiful. And boy, is the food AMAZING. We have been for dinner before which is excellent as is, but wow, the wedding food is amazing. Many of our guests commented it was the best food they've ever had, let alone at a wedding. From the cocktail hour appetizers, to the delicious filet and seabass for guests, as well as a gelato station, we left stuffed. The service is also impeccable. The staff here clearly knows how to do large events. Sequoia should be booked every weekend for a wedding or major event because they are clearly THE best hands down. Not just as a venue, but for catering/food as well. Their staff including Michelle, who was our main point of contact, are SO easy to work with.

Sequoia's the Complete Package!
My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at Sequoia in mid-October and could not have been happier with our experience! Lila, Sequoia's Private Event Manager, was a delight to work with and was our point of contact from day one. Throughout the planning process, Lila and her team were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and helpful. Lila was present for our tasting and final walkthrough, and even provided us with an extensive list of vendors, from which we chose our fabulous band 24K.
As for the venue, Sequoia was a fantastic space for our ceremony and reception. For our wedding, we had access to the full dining room, indoor balcony, and a portion of the outdoor balcony, which provided more than enough room for our 140 guests, band, and a large dance floor. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided tons of natural light and made it feel like we were at an outdoor venue without having to worry about the possibility of bad weather. The views of the Kennedy Center, Potomac River, and Georgetown were breathtaking, particularly at night, and made a beautiful backdrop for our pictures. The dining room chandeliers also made great additions to our photographs.
We had a cocktail reception with several hor d'oeuvres and a seated dinner. For both, we got to choose from a large variety of food and drink options, which were prepared by Sequoia's in-house catering team. All of the food was delicious, and several guests told us that it was one of the highlights of the wedding.
All-in-all, Sequoia was everything we were looking for and more! Excellent staff, delicious food, and a beautiful and timeless space. We would highly recommend to anyone.

Sequoia DC What a venue!!!! Great for weddings!
This is on the Georgetown waterfront, and the location and space is stunning, modern, and romantic. It's fresh, and spacious and can be converted for any size wedding.
To work with Lila Dougly the Private Events Director, was the best experience in the entire wedding process. Her vast knowledge of weddings and the venue made it easy to navigate the needs of the bride and the family. She had genuine concern for the brides wishes and feelings about the experience. We were treated like royalty when we visited the event space, and any questions or concerns we had were handled promptly and carefully. She was there for all meetings and the day of the event. I cannot say enough about her professionalism and her kind character.
We had the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at the restaurant. The timing for all of these were perfect. The wait staff was excellent, flawless execution. The food was excellent, well beyond typical wedding food. We had a full bar, signature drinks, hors d'oeuvres for the cocktail hour, salad, main course, and as we danced into the evening, dessert bar and espresso martinis. Everything was wonderful. The staff also helped with the set up, and the room looked amazing. We had an evening wedding, the venue over looks the Potomac and the Kennedy Center, beautiful views! They were able to accommodate a live band and DJ, and live music for the ceremony and the cocktail hour.
If you're looking for modern elegance, smooth planning process, great food and drinks, this is it. Thank you, Lila and thank you Sequoia!

Sequoia is a fantastic venue with great food
We loved having our wedding at Sequoia--the night was perfect and the planning process was so organized and easy. Tatum is amazing and super responsive and easy to work with. They were great about allergies and dietary restrictions, and all the food was delicious! A lot of our guests said it was the best food they've had at a wedding (appetizers were AMAZING--especially the pork belly sliders!). We had 135 guests and the cocktail hour space seemed like it would be very tight with more people, but there was plenty of room downstairs for dinner and dancing so I could see the space working well with a larger event too. Everything is wheelchair accessible except the mezzanine where we did cocktail hour.

A Perfect Night
We knew Sequoia was the spot for us the second we walked in, the space is absolutely gorgeous. Lila was our point of contact and she was an absolute pleasure to work with, her team was very responsive and helped make our day very special. Ruben and Lila managed multiple vendors and put on a seamless ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, along with a team of high quality servers and bartenders! All our guests were blown away with the quality of the food and drinks. If you are looking for a truly beautiful venue on the Georgetown waterfront where everything is taken care of by an exceptional group of people, please look no further than Sequoia! Additionally, the complimentary suite at the Watergate was stunning. They were also able to seamlessly manage a wide range of guests with allergies and dietary preferences.

I would come every weekend if I could
I LOVE Sequoia so much! I have been blessed to work with them for years and I Pray for years and years more to come. One of the most organized and kind event teams you could ever work with (Lila, Tatum , Ruben) know what they are doing and they make it look so easy (even thought its not). every time myself or my team come we are given the support we need to do our part. Anticipated Every Need
Tatum, Ruben, and the whole Seqouia staff ensured that we had the wedding of our dreams! They went above and beyond, accommodating numerous changes, running our rehearsal, rapidly answering dozens of emails, and on our wedding day they made sure that I (bride) never had an empty glass of wine! The whole event went seemlessly and our guests wanted for nothing. Seqouia anticipated problems before they could affect anyone, like light in their eyes during the ceremony. There was never a line at the bar, though there was competition to snag glasses of one of our 2 signature drinks (a Seqouia creation) because it was so popular!!!

Gorgeous location, professional staff and amazing food
Working with Lila and the team at Sequoia was wonderful. From our first walkthrough to our tasting to the big day, the service was exceptional. The food is REALLY why we said yes...virtually everyone said it was the best wedding food they'd had. Because the space is so full of light and elegant, we did not feel the need to go big on decor/flowers/linens etc. Could not recommend this venue more. Get on the waitlist!

Tatum helped us throw the perfect wedding
We had the best wedding we could imagine at Sequoia. The ceremony was beautiful with the natural light and our guests loved the balcony and waterfront views. We barely did any decorating because it was so beautiful. We worked with Tatum who was a god-send. She was so patient with us during the entire process and despite my many anxieties, never made me feel like I was being too much. We could tell her team truly wanted us to have a great night. We also loved our honeymoon suite at the Watergate and took amazing pictures in their lawn and on their rooftop. Our wedding was the best night of our lives and it was all made possible by Tatum and the team at Sequoia.

Beautiful Venue and Amazing Staff!
I would highly recommend Sequoia for a wedding. I got married in June 2020 and worked with Lila, the catering manager. She is amazing and I can’t say enough good things about the whole experience. Lila knew all the answers to my questions down to the tiniest detail and always responded very quickly, even on the day of my wedding. She honestly made my wedding day so much easier because I knew I could trust that her and that she would make sure everything at Sequoia ran smoothly. The manager for Sequoia, Ruben was also very helpful and so accommodating at our food tasting and wedding day. The food was amazing, everyone talked about how delicious the food was compared to other wedding and how good the portions were. No one had to wait at the bar for drinks, the staff was super friendly and attentive of all our guests. The restaurant itself is so beautiful, all the windows and lighting makes for very pretty pictures and view for guests. I am so happy I had my wedding reception at Sequoia!

Beautiful venue, with outstanding service!
When checking out potential venues for our wedding, my then-fiancé-now-husband and I had just a few requirements in mind (indoor, modern, with lots of windows). But Sequoia immediately blew every expectation we had out of the water. It's obviously an absolutely stunning place for an event, with lovely views of the Georgetown waterfront, and the food is outstanding. But the most incredible thing about our Sequoia experience was easily the service. Tatum, the Director of Catering, was always attentive to our every little question (and we had a lot of them), and we always felt valued and supported throughout the planning process. We feel very lucky to have gotten married here, and would absolutely recommend Sequoia to any couple checking out venues in the DC area.

Amazing venue for ceremony and reception
My husband and I married at Sequoia in May 2022 - we could not be happier with the decision on venue. From start to finish they design and entirely personalized event and are generous with their offerings and flexibility. They also handle the majority of activities in-house, so they cover the venue, food, staff, etc. We only needed to hire a photographer, day-of coordinator, and a DJ, the rest was covered!
Tatum, the event manager at Sequoia, is absolutely fantastic. She helped us with planning and was highly professional and a thought partner throughout the entire process (including helping us navigate the changing COVID environment). Her team and staff were wonderful and the events were smooth, seamless, and coordinated

Amazing wedding
We had our wedding in Oct, 2021 and cannot be happier to have chosen Seqouia. First off, the venue is beautiful and you can't beat the location. our guests loved having cocktail hour outdoors facing the river and staying close to Georgetown for pre and post wedding events. Lila helped with our planning and she was super understanding and helpful with every step of the planning process. She made the wedding more than what we had envisioned. We wanted for nothing!
Book Sequoia DC! It was the perfect venue for our wedding reception, for 150 guests, and our vendors’ conveniences and requirements. Lila Dougly, Sequoia’s Catering Sales Manager, is the definition of professional and thorough and a pleasure to work with. Once our vendors were all contracted, Lila worked with them directly, informing them of the terms we all agreed on and Sequoia’s requirements. There was no ambiguity as to what we were expecting or their delivery. The food (outstanding surf and turf), bar (open), indoor and outdoor setting overlooking the Potomac, was special for everyone. To Sequoia’s entire staff, thank you! You were there, it happened, never were we wanting!
As the Mother of the Bride, I have relived and retold many stories about our daughter’s marriage. It was one of the happiest weekends of our lives. The wedding ceremony was held at Dahlgren Chapel, on Georgetown Campus, and the reception was at Sequoia DC in November 2021. At the end of each retelling I close with, “I would not change a thing.” I must give credit where credit is due.

Great reception venue, still pinching myself
Sequoia made us feel special from the first time we sat down with Lila, before we had committed to having our reception there. After that reception, we looked at very few other options and decided on Sequoia very quickly, and I am so glad we did. The process was wonderful and easy, and our reception was the most fun evening of my life. Everyone we worked with was unbelievably professional and just wanted to make our experience the best possible.
The food was incredible, I can still close my eyes and taste it. My husband and I look forward to going back every year for our anniversary.
The setting is magical, and the dance floor was bumping all night. There is not one thing I would have changed about that day, and I am forever grateful to everyone at Sequoia for making it our perfect day!

I could not be more pleased with my experience at Sequoia! Our guests stated it was the best wedding they had ever been to! The food is outstanding and the service matches it. Working with the coordinator, Tatum was an absolute pleasure. She is incredibly responsive and accommodating. She made outstanding recommendations for the band and other vendors. She even asked my coordinator how my mother was doing the day of because she noticed she was stressed out and wanted to offer her assistance! The value for the quality is unmatched. With many options for the food and open bar service you can't go wrong. The servers passed our signature cocktails to guests as they waited in line during cocktail hour so no one ever was left wanting anything all night. They are absolute professionals and go above and beyond from the moment you reach out to the end of your event. The venue itself is beautiful inside and out offering several locations for the ceremony and cocktail hour you can have everything all in one place! It truly was a magical night and I am so grateful to the Sequoia team for making our wedding so special!

We hosted our September 2021 wedding at sequoia in their state room. The room was exquisite with gorgeous chandeliers, but also still intimate. The food was outstanding. Everyone loved it! Service was great. Very professional. They made my husband and I feel very comfortable! Highly recommend!

Fabulous Rehearsal Dinner
We hosted a rehearsal dinner, followed by desserts and drinks for additional guests, at the Sequoia restaurant. What a pleasure it was to work with Lila Dougly, Catering Sales Manager. Lila made the process easy and enjoyable! What could have been difficult was not! Lila made sure to assist in numerous ways, and went above and beyond to make our event memorable and perfect. From the beauty of the venue, to the drinks, food, service….our experience was over the top!

Unforgettable Night
If you don't read the rest of this, just take this one advice: order the scarlet fog drink as your signature drink, it'll dazzle your guests. From the moment I walked up the stairs of Sequoia during our site visit, I knew this was our venue. The venue is modern, with a beautiful view of the river, and beautiful tall ceilings. As a bonus, since this is a restaurant, we knew the food was going to be incredible, compared to a catering company. We had to change our wedding date a few times due to the Pandemic, but Tatum was flexible with our changes. Tatum is awesome, and we couldn't have our incredible wedding without her guidance. When our date finally arrived, we were really nervous about the pandemic and wanted to avoid any outbreaks. Tatum assured us that their entire staff is vaccinated, and as a bonus, they also set up an outdoor bar for us on the patio with the beautiful river view during cocktail hour. They also helped us create a more spread out floor-plan during dinner for guest comfort. During our tasting, they helped us customize every single item to what we wanted. The food was delicious and plentiful, leaving our guests full and happy. I'm so happy we chose Sequoia for our wedding, I really feel like we had an unforgettable wedding and it was worth every penny.

Greatest night ever - thanks to Sequoia and Tatum!
Tatum and Sequoia were incredible to work with while planning our reception during the pandemic. Tatum was EXTREMELY flexible and understanding with constant changes to guest count & DC regulations, and she made sure we had the most amazing day. The food and venue were absolutely incredible, and our guests haven't stopped talking about how perfect the evening was. Thank you all again!

Best wedding with the best views of the Georgetown Waterfront!
My husband and I got married at Sequoia on June 19th, 2021! My guests are still talking about how amazing the food, drinks and views were for the reception. I started working with Tatum in September and she was absolutely wonderful to work with. Tatum made the planning and coordination seamless for me. I can't thank the team at Sequoia enough for making my special day perfect! We can't wait to come back to Sequoia this summer for some more blueberry mojitos on the patio!

Event manager Tatum made my daughter's 3rd rescheduled wedding date a breeze. The team gave 120%, the view and pictures on the water were stunning and every detail was covered. Plus, the food was perfection. Thank you to the entire team. Sequoia made the wedding memorable!!!

The most professional and unforgettable experience 🤍
I am a covid bride who was married this past September. Given that we were trying to plan our special day in such scary and uncertain times, everything about it was significantly harder than it should have been... but we were determined to be married! When we learned that our wedding venue cancelled on us exactly 1 month before our wedding day, there was no time to panic, we just had to jump right in and figure something out. That’s where Tatum Jelinek and Sequoia came in. We met with Tatum a day or two after receiving the news from our original venue. Upon the conclusion of our first meeting, my now-husband and I couldn’t stop raving about how innovative, driven, and organized Tatum was - she had a plan for EVERYTHING. Our original venue relied heavily on us to to tell THEM what they need to do to make a safe, socially distant and covid-friendly wedding happen... which felt totally backwards. But when we met with Tatum, she walked us through every single detail of how successful Sequoia was implementing safe, covid-friendly procedures. On top of that, she listened to all of our wants and needs and painted a clear picture of how she was going to make it all happen. This one meeting alone was all Tatum needed to execute our wedding day so beautifully and flawlessly. Looking back on it all, it’s amazing to see what Tatum was able to do in less than 30 days as opposed to our original venue (a much larger and well known establishment that will remain nameless), who had no plan. Tatum and her team at Sequoia brought to life the wedding of our dreams, during a time where we were losing hope that it would even be possible. Tatum is the real reason we were able to have the wedding we wanted. And Tatum’s plans for implementing a safe, covid-friendly wedding played a huge part in making our family members feel safe in their decision to still be a part of our wedding day. We are forever grateful to Tatum for her diligent work in making the impossible happen. She is a true professional who was in our corner every step of the way. Thank you Tatum and thank you Sequoia for showing the utmost care and dedication to us, to our guests, and to the most important day of our lives. We are so impressed by all of you and look forward to many future celebrations at Sequoia! 🤍

Dream Wedding
Planning a wedding during a pandemic is tough. My husband and I were originally supposed to get married on May 2, 2020 but had to postpone due to Covid. We were searching for a new venue and found Sequoia. We worked with Tatum Jelinek who is absolutely incredible. She made the entire process of planning our wedding so easy and fun. There were many challenges that came up as you can expect with a wedding during a pandemic but Tatum was always in control. She was flexible, knowledgeable, and very kind. I was such an anxious bride and she helped to put me at ease. We had the most beautiful ceremony outside while the sun was setting and our reception was held in the State Dining Room. Our wedding was truly a dream. It was far better than we could've ever dreamed of. The food delicious and the service was amazing. People would always tell us that you never get to eat during your wedding day but this was not true for us - Tatum made sure that our food was plated after we did our table rounds to greet our guests. We had the best experience with Tatum and the entire Sequoia team. She truly went above and beyond for us.

COVID wedding home run!
We had one of the best experiences with the team at Sequoia that I could have wished for. We decided to do a small wedding dinner instead of the bigger reception we had planned for Thanksgiving 2020 due to COVID. I reached out to the team at Sequoia, headed by Tatum Jelinek (director of catering), to talk to her about a possible event for Labor Day weekend. She told us the availability and held the spaces for us for a few days until we were able to decide what would work better for us. She worked with us on every detail of the menu and setup. She even did a group video call with my wife and I so we could see the spaces and decide which one was best for us. Tatum was really amazing and went above and beyond expectations. She even saved us at the last minute on the day of our dinner when the Bluetooth speakers we brought failed us, she swooped in with an extra set. We couldn't say enough good things about Tatum and the team at the Sequoia.

Excellent venue and service
The pandemic has brought many challenges for those of us planning events. When COVID-19 hit, we had to scramble to identify a new location for our wedding events. Luckily, we found the Sequoia and Lila Dougly, the Catering Sales Manager. From the minute we called, Lila to control. It was a Friday afternoon and within 24-hours, we had a plan in place and could breathe. The outside space gives the feeling that you are on a luxury liner. It's perfect for mingling and cocktails. The interior is sleek and modern, but not ultra-modern. Coming from Florida, I loved the light fixtures! The food is delicious and what really impressed me is that the soup was actually hot and so was our main dish. This doesn't happen often! All-in-all, if you're looking for a lovely venue with many entertainment options and a person to help guide you through the entire process, head to the Sequoia!

Best venue ever.
I'm originally from the DC area, so I had always associated Sequoia with amazing food and atmosphere. When I first got engaged, I started researching venues and Sequoia came up - I hadn't been there since their recent remodel, and I was so excited to find that the modern, but still elegant vibe was 100% what I was looking for. The glass light installation is incredible and so unique- I didn't find any other venues with anything like it. I knew that my wedding would stand out and be extremely memorable for all my guests. I also cannot say enough good things about Lila Dougly - she went so above and beyond to make sure we had the smoothest, most comfortable experience. Lila and Sequoia have stood out, among all my vendors, as the absolute best to work with. Lila has been so warm, welcoming and responsive to all my questions. And what sealed the deal is the incredible food! Every single thing we tried was incredible, especially the Chilean sea bass and the crab cakes which were the best I've ever eaten! The scarlet fog with dry ice is also a really cool and delicious drink. I'm also a big dessert person and Sequoia really delivered with that too - the chocolate chip skillet cookie is unreal! Sequoia really took care of me and my entire family throughout the whole process. I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled to share my experience with Sequoia because it was just that great. Every step of the way I have been so impressed with Sequoia and give them the highest rating possible- they are an incredible place. Thank you Lila and Sequoia!

Dream Wedding! Sept 12, 2020
Words cannot express how thankful we are for Tatum and Sequoia. Tatum was BEYOND helpful in what should have been a much more stressful time with planning, replanning, replanning and more replanning. We were originally supposed to have our wedding in early June, but decided to postpone it to September... and even then we had to reduce our original party size multiple times from 100+ to 50 to 30 to 20 people. Tatum was so patient and helpful while we tried to figure out our plans, worked through every single detail with us and was in constant communication with us (answering 100s of my emails, phone calls...etc!!). My husband and my family told me that they were amazed at how relaxed I was throughout our whole wedding day and I remarked that it was because I knew Tatum was taking care of everything at Sequoia and I knew I had nothing to worry about!
Sequoia did such a wonderful job putting our families/guests and our worries about a group gathering at ease with their safety precautions and measures (this was essentially the first time anyone in our families had eaten out or been in any sort of group gathering since the beginning of covid).
The views at Sequoia are absolutely stunning, you can enjoy a delicious meal & drinks while taking in the beautiful sunset right on the waterfront. Our guests all raved about the food at Sequoia... and I even risked potential self-harm due to the constricting nature of my wedding dress but the food was so delicious I couldn't put my fork down!!
We highly highly recommend this venue for anyone who is looking to host a gathering of any sort!! The food, drinks, views were all wonderful but nothing can beat their customer service!

Beautiful venue/views, fantastic customer service
Sequoia is a beautiful venue for any kind of celebration with its waterfront views, high ceilings, delicious food, and impeccable staff. We booked Sequoia for our April 25, 2020 wedding, but unfortunately had to cancel the event due to COVID-19. Lila, the catering sales manager, was by our sides every step of the way and she was truly a joy to work with. From the second we reached out to inquire about our wedding date, to touring the venue, to signing the contract, to our food tasting, and our eventual cancellation, Lila was there for us. She handled our frantic emails and emotions with grace and care, and we always felt taken care of. We did have the option to rebook for a later date or receive a refund of our deposits and we chose the refund. We were so relieved to have been given the option to receive a refund because we have many non-refundable deposits with other vendors that we are unsure how we will be able to use. Sequoia’s accommodating policy and the absolutely delightful Lila has been the light in the dark time of trying to re-plan/postpone and eventually cancel our dream wedding. We are definitely considering Sequoia for a future event (vow renewal) and would feel so lucky to work with Lila again. If you want to feel taken care of, talk to Lila at Sequoia- you will be glad you did!

Review 2 of 2: Post-Wedding. Sequoia totally lived up to its expectations! The whole staff was on point! Food was amazing, which was very important to us, service was impeccable, drinks were also amazing, and the space speaks for itself. They really made us feel like the most important people in the world on our special day. If we wanted something, we had it. If there was an issue, it was handled. We were met with “yup, we’re on it” or “yup, already take care of” or “yup, coming right up”! And Tatum is hands down the best events manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I would book the Sequoia over and over just to work with her if I could! So my final review is: if you want a place with amazing views, amazing service, food to die for, and a magical event, then go rent out Sequoia! And definitely be prepared to be wowed!
Review 1 of 2: Pre-Wedding. Let me start by saying that their customer service is amazing! We worked with Tatum and she’s totally awesome, super professional, nice, has answers to absolutely everything... I really can’t say enough about working with her! We really wanted our wedding here so we decided to bite the bullet and shell out the $$$ (cause I’ll be honest, this place is NOT cheap!) This made us super nervous when COVID happened and it was clear we would have to reschedule our wedding. Ugh! what about fees?... would we get the same rate?... should we just cancel and see how things go?... WELL LET ME TELL YOU THEY WERE AWESOME! They are extremely flexible! There was no change of date fee, they made their cancellation policies more flexible, and they even kept our contract price the same! No extra fees of any kind, no revisiting of price due to inflation or change of day or time or anything (even though we shifted it out almost a whole year so normally the prices would have increased naturally due to inflation... but there was none of that!) It was REALLY AMAZING! So while we are still in the midst of being nervous at the idea of having a big wedding and everything that it will mean given the current state of the country, we do NOT regret reserving Sequoia, not for one second. We were met with “no problem” and “we can work with you on that”... and them honoring the contract and certain agreements we had despite the changes really solidified their credibility in our book and made us feel comfortable and safe at the choice we made of reserving The Sequoia. They really make you feel like they care about your big day in every way... kind of like you are VIP for them (at least until your wedding. Hahahaha). I will write another review once the wedding happens to give feedback on their performance and final thoughts but for now: BRAVO in every way!

Could not ask for a better venue!
**Updated post-wedding review: We got married in October and it could not have been more perfect.
Everyone felt safe and comfortable with the safety precautions that were in place. They did a wonderful job with this.
The staff was incredible. They were professional, courteous, and efficient. Several of our guests commented on this throughout the night and the next day. We were very impressed with their level of service.
The food was SO good. Several of my other vendors expressed their excitement about the wedding being at Sequoia because of how good their food is. When our guests talk about our wedding, it usually starts with how beautiful the restaurant is, how incredible the staff was that night, and then a rave review about the food. The food, the drinks, and the atmosphere are unmatched.
I can't say enough about Tatum, the event planner. Her support and kindness during the process of moving our wedding (see below) meant so much to us. She was there the night of the wedding hand delivering me wine when my glass got low. :) I was continuously impressed with how kind, professional, flexible, and responsive she was throughout this whole process. She truly made our experience so positive and was my favorite person to work with in the months leading up to our wedding. She is very good at what she does.
Sequoia was the best choice we made for our wedding day. I pretty much want to plan any and every event in the future with Sequoia and Tatum. It was an unforgettable night!

I love this venue and the team that works there! My fiancé and I were supposed to get married in July; however, due to COVID-19, we had to postpone. Before we made that decision, I spoke with Sequoia to see what the process would be like to rebook. They let us put a soft hold on a date in the fall. A few weeks later, we made the decision to move the wedding from July to the fall date. Everything simply lifted and shifted to the new date--no extra charges or re-booking fees!
Sequoia, and Tatum in particular, have been amazing throughout this entire process. Realizing and coming to terms with the fact that we needed to move our wedding was upsetting and stressful, but Tatum and her team could not have been more accommodating, flexible, and kind. She has worked with us each step of the way. They even sent us some sweet treats to lift our spirits!
We did our tasting a few weeks ago, and we discussed the safety precautions Sequoia is taking during this time. I feel confident that our guests will be safe and taken care of during our wedding weekend.
Tatum and her team at Sequoia have gone above and beyond for us. I am continually impressed with their responsiveness, professionalism, flexibility, and kindness. I am so grateful for and so appreciative of Tatum and her team. They are SO wonderful, and I am so happy Sequoia is our venue!

Dream Venue and Service During COVID (& Before!)
There are a million venues in DC--and we looked at a lot of them!--but the second we toured Sequoia I knew it was perfect. We had the BEST experience with the events team, led by Tatum, planning our wedding. They went above-and-beyond for us in so many ways, including giving us a free dinner when my mom was in town so she could try all the food and wine after not being able to make the tasting. I joked that wedding planning was more fun than I expected and "too easy"... and then COVID happened. I heard horror stories about venues being difficult and I was nervous about the process when we decided to postpone our wedding. But, Sequoia could not have been more wonderful. Before we made our decision, they proactively communicated how things were going (and they kept their events staff employed so they were always available to communicate with!) and they let us reserve a free "backup" date should we need it. They also sent us the most amazing treats to lift our spirits during a difficult and stressful time! Once we decided to postpone, they immediately replied to my email and made us feel so at-ease. They locked in our new date (no extra charges, stipulations, or anything different than our original plan besides the year) and it could not have been easier. I was glad we chose Sequoia before COVID, but going through this experience of uncertainty and postponement with them made me even more sure it is the perfect place for us. Thanks to their easy communication, kindness, and flexibility I know our new wedding date at Sequoia will be better than ever.

What a view!
Quaid and his team at Sequoia were top notch! The view, the food, and the space were perfect. We were so lucky to find this gem of a spot as well a a gem of an event manager in Quaid. We truly had the best day of our lives and in large part it was due to Sequoia.

Best night ever!!!!
My daughter got married at Sequoia on 10/26/19. The venue was perfect, the food delicious, service was spectacular and the views were amazing. The light fixture across the dance floor is spectacular in photos. The caterer Tatum J was unbelievable. She is so easy to work with and accommodating. I don't think I heard her say no to anything. Chris our concierge for the night made sure every need or wish was taken care of. Our guests were blown away. You cant go wrong having your wedding here.

Best Decision We Made!!!
Choosing Sequoia as our wedding venue was the best decision my husband and I could have possibly made. Sequoia is absolutely STUNNING- our guests were blown away by the unbelievable waterfront views and twinkling city lights. They couldn’t stop exclaiming over it! The service was also IMPECCABLE. It was the quickest I have ever seen a large dinner served and our guests were NEVER waiting for a drink at the bar. Important to note, the speed did NOT diminish the quality. The food was absolutely incredible. Our guests were raving about it, saying it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding!! The staff was incredibly professional, as well.
I also cannot say enough about the Event Planner/Catering Sales Manager that we had the pleasure of working with- Quaid Coxsey. From the moment my family and I met Quaid, we knew we were in good hands. He was there, every step of the way, to answer questions, communicate with vendors, and SO MUCH MORE. He truly put my husband and I at such great ease from the get go. Our wedding day was stress free, seamless, GORGEOUS, fun, and all around perfect and I attribute MUCH of that to Quaid. His attention to detail, quick responsive time, and positive demeanor made working with him a true joy.

Outstanding Experience! Perfect Choice!
Sequoia is the perfect choice if you are looking for unbeatable views, white glove service, and top-notch professionalism. It is absolutely one of the best wedding venues in Washington, DC.
I worked with Tatum, who from the very beginning was extremely knowledgeable about all the necessary details, engaged, responsive, and personable. She was so organized and on top of everything that it allowed me to relax and not stress about cocktail hour or the wedding reception. Tatum is phenomenal to work with and her expertise truly puts you at ease.
The execution of all the details by her team on the big day made Sequoia the perfect choice! The level of service is top-notch. Even our guests were giving praises to the service throughout the night and even days after the event. We were even given a personal server, Chris, for the bride/groom. He was outstanding! Chris was extremely attentive, made sure we were enjoying each aspect of the evening, was there if we needed anything, and even made a to-go bag with food served throughout the night for us to bring back to our hotel room. Sequoia’s staff definitely goes above-and-beyond to ensure you have an unforgettable evening.
All of our guests are still raving about the outstanding food! We are still being told how delicious, warm, and timely the food/service was. During cocktail hour we had passed hors d’oeuvres, then a seated dinner service, and later in the evening late night snacks. Everyone left stuffed and people jokingly complained that they likely gained 5lbs that night. You even get a specialty cocktail that night for you and your guests, which we all loved.
Sequoia is so stunning on its own that you don’t need a lot of decorations. There are floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Potomac with views of the Kennedy Center, hardwood floors, and modern décor. Our cocktail hour was on the second floor balcony that overlooked the main dinning room and then we moved downstairs for dinner and dancing. Our guests are still raving about the views from both floors.
Sequoia as a venue and the team provide an unforgettable experience from start to finish that will leave you and your guests in awe. To this day, we are still being told by our guests that our wedding reception was the best event they have ever been to.

Amazing experience!
We booked Sequoia for our wedding and were amazed by the result. The weather cooperated and we had our ceremony outdoors overlooking the river for an amazing view. The food was amazing, and the staff took excellent care of our guests, including a few with severe allergies (meals were customized for their needs). All of the guests were happy, and we were too!

Perfect Venue!
We had the best wedding at Sequoia! From the very beginning Lila, the wedding coordinator, was so sweet and accommodating ... she made planning a breeze. We even had a last minute food change and she handled it immediately. I can’t thank her enough for all her hard work and creativity. She even helped the florist set everything up and she even added more decor! The staff at Sequoia is so professional and made sure we had an amazing time. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and our guests got to utilize the outdoor space and enjoy all the views of the waterfront. I could not have asked for a better wedding venue!

Perfect wedding venue
The Sequoia is a perfect wedding venue for those looking to host a classic and beautiful evening. It was my dream venue to begin with and it exceeded expectations! The setup of the restaurant is great and it has unbeatable views of the waterfront and Kennedy Center. Our guests were very impressed.
Lila the Sequoia wedding coordinator was fabulous, she went out of her way on multiple occasions to make sure we were happy. She made sure our wedding dreams became realities. She is the best!
The food was delicious, we had many guests compliment the food. The portions were bigger so no one was hungry. The dessert bar was amazing too!

Lila Dougly orchestrated a beautiful rehearsal dinner for approximately 75 of our guests . She and the sequoia delivered on every aspect - the event was elegant , the setting spectacular , the food high quality , delicious and beautifully presented, the service top notch. Lila made the planning almost effortless and completely stress- free, even though we lived out of state. Everything that was promised was delivered. For the extremely high quality, the price was ver reasonable. Did not have a single complaint - it was a wonderful experience!!

Sincere thanks to Lila and her staff for putting together a gorgeous evening wedding. Lila was always available — very focused on whatever she could do to make the night just right — and we really benefited from her advice and expertise. Everything was well-done — from prompt passing of delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks — to seating 150 guests while leaving room for a large dance floor — to personal servers for the bridal party. The space looked just right for both the ceremony and the supper — lovely view of the Potomac — with access to outdoor terrace.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Sequoia and everything was absolutely perfect! We didn’t want to deal with DC summer heat so we were looking for an indoor venue – Sequoia was perfect because, while it is indoors, the giant windows allow for so much natural light and beautiful views of the river. From when we first inquired about having our reception there, to doing our tasting, to the actual day of the wedding, Andrea and her team at Sequoia were great to work with. We live in Chicago so we were a bit nervous about planning our wedding from a distance but Sequoia made everything so easy. Our guests raved about how good all the food was and how perfect the set-up of the reception was. We really wanted the band and the dancing to be the focus of the reception and at Sequoia we were able to put the band right in the middle so that everyone had easy access to the dance floor. Another plus was that the bar was right near the dance floor so people didn’t have to decide between getting a drink and dancing. Also, the service was amazing – our guests talked about how they never even had to wait at the bar for a drink. Sequoia assigned a personal server to my husband and me who made sure we always had a drink and that we actually ate food throughout the evening. At the end of the night, Sequoia even made a to-go bag of a serving of all the food that had been served throughout the night (appetizers, main course, cake, and desserts) for my husband and I to take back with us to our hotel room. We could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out – Sequoia was amazing!

Our wedding reception at Sequoia on 10.15.16 was absolutely PERFECT! We had the pleasure of working with Lila for the year leading up to our wedding, and she is simply wonderful. The entire process was smooth and stress-free!
We held cocktail hour on the second floor during sunset and our guests (approximately 160) then moved down for dinner and dancing in the main dining room. Guests raved about the view from both floors of Sequoia, the food (passed appetizers and seated dinner), liquor package (with high-end liquors included in the basic package) and the fantastic level of service from the wait staff. Our parents and wedding planner could not say better things about Lila. Her responsiveness, knowledge, attention to detail and love for her job made wedding planning so much easier for me! She kept the reception on schedule and delivered everything exactly as I wished. She worked so incredibly hard to make my vision come to life. Also, we worked out a payment schedule to help space out the payments. Even though Lila plans multiple weddings at once, it felt like we were the only one!
When I entered our reception for the first time, I was absolutely stunned - I could not even believe that it was my reception. It was so beautiful, elegant, and better than I could have imagined. Sequoia does not require tons of decorations to be beautiful – the venue itself is stunning with its view of the Kennedy center, floor to ceiling windows, hardwood floors and modern decor. We rented the gold chairs and decorated with gold as well – the entire venue just sparkled! The package included all sorts of extras – a signature cocktail, late night sweets passed to guests, a suite for the newlyweds at the Graham on the wedding night, just to name to a few! As Sequoia is on the water, we decided to exit on a boat that could pull up right outside! Sequoia is one of the best wedding venues in DC and the perfect choice! You can’t go wrong with the fabulous location, service and view!

We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner for 80 people in the State Room on September 23, 2016. One reason this venue was perfect was that in addition to the restaurant being located on the harbor in Georgetown, the State Room has its own private bar and terrace. The weather was very pleasant that night, so our guests really enjoyed being able to move outside for the cocktail hour.
The food was outstanding and the chef accommodated all of our guests who have various food allergies or food preferences. The serving staff were all very attentive and pleasant. We had many compliments on the entire event!
I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Lila Dougly, the Catering Director for Sequoia (Ark Restaurants), who was so endearing and fun to work with. She carried us through with attention to every detail and I never worried for a moment.

If you want ease of planning and a white glove service during your wedding, book Sequoia! We planned from out of town and when the tasting/walk through arrived, we were impressed. I cannot say enough positive things about Heather and her team at Sequoia! We were planning our wedding both from a distance and far in advance (we had a two-year engagement and booked the venue more than a year-and-a-half before the wedding) and Heather was extremely attentive to all of our needs and speedy in all of her responses - I felt like I had a lot of questions, but she never made me feel like the barrage of questions was annoying!! I weighed whether or not to hire a day-of coordinator, but Heather reassured me that her team could take care of everything that I would have hired a day-of coordinator for (setting up escort cards, cookie table, welcome table, etc.). Given how thorough Heather was, I knew that her team would be on top of everything, and she did not disappoint. We were escorted down to the reception by one of her team members, who made sure we had a drink in hand and a plate of appetizers before we went up to cocktail hour (they guessed - correctly! - that we would be too busy greeting our guests during dinner to eat). From start to finish, the Sequoia staff made our wedding reception absolutely perfect - I cannot recommend them enough!

We couldn't have possibly imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding day. The views and interior stunned our guests, the food was unbelievable, and their service was impeccable. We worked with Heather Garvin for our event, who was always responsive and helpful, fielding my countless emails and questions in the weeks leading up to the wedding without a beat. Sequoia even provided a personal server to make sure that our and our parents' needs were attended to throughout the night. We genuinely can't say enough about how Sequoia exceeded our expectations! Sarah and her staff were absolutely amazing ! They performed to perfection ! Our guests all commented that this was by far the best venue that they had ever attended and the setting was just perfect - with the water, boats, lights from the cocktail hour views - just magnificent ! The main dining room was Gorgeous !
This was without any doubt, THE best experienced that we could hope for - Sarah and her team exceeded all of our expectations and hit the ball out of the park !!!! Our August wedding reception at Sequoia was perfect in every way. The venue was ideal for our ~200 guest reception with 8-piece band. We could not have ordered up a better evening (or planned it) and we were lucky to be able to hold the cocktail reception outside. The views of the sun setting over the water were amazing and our guests raved about the appetizers and service from start to finish. The pigs in a blanket were a definite hit and the main course of braised short rib/crabcake combo with asparagus and potatoes was definitely on point and our guests were still talking about it after the event.
From the moment we signed the contract, almost a year ahead, we knew we had made a great decision. Heather Garvin was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. We never worried about a thing and the end result was outstanding. The service the night-of was exceptional and the staff was attentive and pleasant all around. Our families (and the two of us) were completely taken care of and never without a drink or water in hand - something you don't realize the true value of until that night!
A particularly special moment was right before the main reception began, my new husband and I had a chance to sit up on the mezzanine and raise a glass together (and enjoy a much needed plate of food). We had the chance to watch down over our guests enjoying cocktail hour and take in an incredible sunset over the water for a few minutes. To be able to have that moment together was a really neat addition we also credit Sequoia for making happen.
Overall, we couldn't be happier to have chosen Sequoia as a venue.

Heather was a wonderful coordinator and was wonderful helping us plan the wedding from afar. She helped me even up until the night before the wedding work out kinks and any anxieties I had. Our guests raved about the view from sequoia. The staff were professional and our personal waitress for the night made sure we always had a full glass and even packed us a box of our wedding meal to go that evening. It was a wonderful experience!

My husband and I celebrated our son's Bar Mitzvah at Sequoia this past March. I can not speak highly enough about the entire experience! Heather Garvin was our contact and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was professional, courteous, and on top of every detail. She contacted me as deadlines approached, followed through with questions and requests, and was always accessible. The actual party was nothing short of spectacular! The venue is of course beautiful, but that night exceeded my every expectation. The servers were phenomenal! Each was professionally dressed, very well mannered, and catered to each and every guest - including 95 teenagers! The "Captains" who were assigned to take care of both my husband and I treated us like king and queen. One even walked my parents to the front of the building (outside the restaurant) at the end of the evening and hailed them a cab! Everyone went above and beyond. The food was impeccable. Our tasting was incredibly fun, and everything was so delicious, we had a hard time choosing. Dinner on the night of the event was amazing. Friends and family gave rave reviews. I cannot speak highly enough about Sequoia. Every last detail was considered, and I honestly would not change one single detail of the entire night! Thank you for an incredible experience!

The event coordinator, Sarah Peterson, was amazing to work with. She was very responsive to all our questions. She helped us narrow down decisions and worked with us on the overall design of the floor plan and menu. She was open to all our suggestions and was very accommodating. I would recommend her to anyone looking to have their wedding at the Sequoia as the person to work with.
The food for our wedding was delicious and cooked perfectly. The servers were very helpful to all of the guests.

Sequoia is a total WIN for wedding receptions! Here's why: outstanding location and views, food and menu options, service/hospitality by the events and catering manager, Heather (and her staff), great ambiance, energy, flexibility in planning, and then some. Choosing Sequoia DC for our reception was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. There was very little that we asked for that could not be accommodated, and often at the last minute. This ranged from menu choice changes to accommodate vegan diets, to having a last minute deejay area, to having many updates to the seating chart and headcount. The team was so accommodating, responsive, and easy to work with, my spouse and I were so relieved. On the day of, we were taken care of from beginning to end. We didn't need to ask for much, but when we did, everything was provided quickly and with a smile and a glass of champagne. We lucked out with a gorgeous (albeit warm) day, and guests really enjoyed the patio area to mingle and look out on the gorgeous water and views of DC and Rosslyn. We also had a portable photo booth set up outside which added to the fun atmosphere. Inside the State Room, we had enough room for 85 guests, which included several children (Sequoia provided all of the booster seats) and room for some strollers. Guests raved about the quality and taste of the brunch offerings, and enjoyed the open bar with a variety of beer, wine, and brunch cocktails. We were also provided a dance floor and plenty of additional tables to set up a candy bar/buffet, our guest reception cards, cupcake stands, etc. Overall, given the location, amenities, and level of service, we felt the cost of our contract was very reasonably priced and would highly recommend Sequoia and its awesome team to anyone looking to celebrate such an important day with family and friends!

I chose Sequoia because out of the 4 or 5 other restaurants I made inquiries with, they were the ONLY one who responded quickly, courteously and professionally. Sequoia DC was everything we wanted for our Martin Luther King Weekend, 2015 wedding. From the beginning, the event coordinator, Heather, was professional and responsive to our planning needs. She fulfilled some special requests that made our wedding more personal. The venue was transformed magically into a winter wonderland by the floral arrangements; the sparkling lights on the skating rink; the sparkling lights on the trees; and the panoramic view of the Potomac River and the Kennedy Center. The appetizers were delicious and generously served; the surf and turf selection for the entree was perfectly done and delicious! The Sequoia DC will always hold a special place in out hearts for contributing to a beautiful wedding celebration for my daughter and son-in-law!

First of all, the venue is gorgeous. At night with all the lights, it almost doesn't need any added decorations. Secondly, the service is outstanding. All of the staff went out of their way to make sure our guests had a great time. They took care of my grandparents and brought them their own plate of appetizers and to-go boxes of dessert when they needed to leave early. They treated everyone there like they were the guests of honor. All of our guests raved about what a great time they had. The food was top notch, better than "wedding" food. Heather was amazing to work with in planning the event. She made everything we wanted happen. We didn't have to worry about a thing prior to or during the event.

We had an amazing wedding at Sequoia~ all thanks to Lila Dougly and her great team. From the tour to the tasting, to our wonderful reception, the professionalism was above and beyond. Honestly - Lila is not only lovely to deal with, but her knowledge was greater than our wedding planner's in terms of logisitics and best practices and her advice was invaluable. On the night of the event, the waiters and staff were amazing... eager to please with special requests and just a fun, fun team to work with. We are absolutely thrilled and would recommend Sequoia for its beauty, its food and its wonderful atmosphere for an event large or small. THANK YOU!!

We had our wedding reception at Sequoia and it was wonderful. We used the main dining room and the cocktail hour was held on the mezzanine level. The venue was beautiful- Sequoia provided the white linens and china and we added a few touches and centerpieces. The food was delicious, the appetizers were plentiful, and they accommodated some of our guests dietary needs. Many guests commented to us about how much they liked the food. The service was top notch. Food was delivered seamlessly and no glass was empty during the cocktail hour or the reception. We worked with Lila Dougly at Sequoia, who was a pleasure to work with and helped us plan the details of the event. Lila was prompt in her email responses and was very accessible. The staff during our reception was very attentive and helpful, including at the end of the night to organize the things we were taking home and bring them to the car. We would highly recommend Sequoia as a wedding reception venue!

The Sequoia Restaurant is amazing! My daughter's Bridal Shower was the beautiful party that I imagined. I planned this event with Scott Moon who is the Director of Sales and Catering. I also worked with an incredibly talented women named Katie Asprovski. Scott and I totally hit it off right from the start of our planning. He understood exactly what the feel and look of my party would be. The lunch was delicious and beautifully prepared. The serving staff was cheerful, helpful and professional. The room was dazzling from the sunlight. The party theme was sparkles since my daughter's "favorite color is sparkle". Scott helped with the menu choice of Salad, dual Entree and Ice Cream Bar. Our guests said it was the most fabulous Bridal Shower. I want to thank Scott and Katie for their amazing event planning. I would highly recommend The Sequoia Resturant for your most precious event. Sequoia was AMAZING! My husband and I had our wedding reception there December 28, 2013 and it was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. The place looked gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the service was beyond outstanding. Sequoia is one of the most beautiful venues and you can't beat the location (in Georgetown on the water). I was worried about parking but there is a garage right under Sequoia with an elevator that takes you right into the restaurant. We worked with Scott who helped us plan everything in such detail that there was nothing to worry about on the actual day. He was such a pleasure to work with and was always available to answer any questions. I have heard from so many guests how amazing the place looked and how great the food was. I really cannot say enough good things about Sequoia. Here are just some examples of how wonderful it was to work with them and have our reception there: They provide a special server to take care of the bride, groom, and their parents which just makes the experience even more special (our server, Chris, came by to check on us while we were outside taking pictures and even brought out some wings and fries because I joked I was hungry!). They will work with you to customize their plan so that it fits in your budget and with your vision (Scott helped us tailor ours so that we were comfortable with the price but we really didn't feel like we were missing anything!). They had someone there the day of to help us coordinate little things like the wedding party entrance. They serve drinks at the tables, not just at the bar (which most places do not do). Scott helped us find a great florist and recommend the best choices for room blocs. I know I already mentioned the food, but seriously it was incredible, and Sequoia worked with us to have great kids meal options and allergy friendly accommodations. I wish I could write more about how awesome Sequoia is but I am out of room.

I have arranged our Divisional Holiday Party for 5 years now, and by far, Sequoia provided us with the best experience and best value of all other facilities. Their private room accommodated over 100 guests perfectly, with ample low and high tables to facilitate dining and socializing. The view and ambiance were spectacular. The food was superb, and the servers and staff attended to all our needs all evening long. Everyone who attended said this was the best party ever!

We had our wedding reception at Sequoia, and I cannot even express how phenomenal the experience was. I'll have to use categories to try:
Planning: We worked with Scott. He was the ultimate professional: quick responses, super flexible about everything (including some picky family members who wanted their own special meals), very conscious of our budget, very up front about what worked or didn't work for couples in the past. I cannot count the number of emails we exchanged over the course of planning. From the initial meeting to the tasting to every detail -- we were made to feel like VIPs.
Reception:
The setting on the waterfront is breathtaking (our reception was at night, so we were overlooking twinkling, lighted trees, and ice skaters!), and the chandeliers and balcony really make Sequoia stand out from your run of the mill hotel banquet room. On the night of our reception, the staff at Sequoia really went above and beyond. Bride, groom, and our parents had a dedicated server who made sure we were never without a drink or a glass of water. Also, when my husband and I needed to hide out during cocktail hour, our server set up a candlelit table for two in a secret back room!
Service was flawless and everyone raved about the food (ESPECIALLY the potato croquettes as a starter! Don't miss them!). And the dance floor at Sequoia depends on where you set your tables, so it can be as huge or as intimate as you'd like.
Five hundred stars. Such a special, special night in a truly stunning setting with and awesome team.

Have your wedding at Sequoia!! The food- delicious. The venue- gorgeous. The service- super attentive. Plus, it all comes in one easy package! No need to decide on linens, or chairs, or silverware- all of it is right there for you. It made my life sooo much easier and took a lot of stress off the wedding planning. And the best part- our Sequoia event planner- LILA DOUGLY.
Lila is a gem. One of the sweetest, most patient, hard-working women I've ever met. You have a question, Lila has the answer. You want a certain detail, Lila can make it happen. You need to make last minute changes, Lila has got it covered. From our first consultation to the food tasting to the last walk through, I felt that Lila's main goal was to make me happy. And that is what every bride needs.
Honestly- I had the most amazing wedding ever and it is in large part due to Sequoia and Lila! THANK YOU!!

Our icy blue wedding was absolutely a winter wonderland dream! Anyone who has been inside or just outside of Sequoia knows the venue offers the most gorgeous riverfront views from the Georgetown Waterfront no matter what season. But what you should also know is that from the first emails looking for quotes to the last emails confirming late night snacks, Scott Moon was a pleasure to work with in every capacity. He and his team had many recommendations of menu choices and all the vendors which matched right up to my own rather extensive vendor research. Scott also notified us whenever there were weddings being held so we could watch the setup in action which helped calm a lot of nerves as far as the transition between the ceremony and reception (flawless and speedy!). We even met several of our vendors (photographer, day-of coordinator, lighting, etc.) there on many occasions during the normal dinner business times since I am a rather visual person and wanted it all to be perfect. Everything turned out exactly as we planned, if not more beautiful. It is still one of our favorite restaurants and venues in the DC area and we go back often. I HIGHLY recommend Sequoia as a wedding venue - spring, summer, fall, or winter! You will not be disappointed in the service and will have the most beautiful wedding photo album with photos in Georgetown. Book it now, they are ALWAYS busy and we booked them over a year in advance :o)

Sequoia was an absolutely fabulous place to have a wedding. We were assigned an event coordinator, Lindsey, who was amazing. Lindsey and the entire staff at Sequoia were professional, responsive, and creative. We were a bit overwhelmed by vendors, and Sequoia helped with recommendations - and we were thrilled with each vendor we met through Sequoia. Also, Sequoia gives you the option to use their chairs, linens, silverware, glassware, etc or you can rent your own - whatever you want! The event itself was gorgeous and my guests commented all night on how attentive and friendly the waitstaff was. It truly was an excellent location for our wedding (and great value!).

This is the 2nd experience I have had with Sequoia as a wedding planner, and both times I have been EXTREMELY impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the impeccable quality of the food and service. Not to mention that I think the main dining room of Sequoia is the prettiest room in the DC metro area. I can't say enough positive things about the venue, the staff, and Lila Dougly, the catering manager. We used Sequoia for a fantastic special rehearsal dinner. Everything was perfect, including the sound system, bartending and food service and quality. We were very happy and would go back in a second. Guests loved the views of trees lit up outside the state room and washington waterfront.

We had our ceremony and reception at Sequoia and couldn't have been happier with the venue. Lindsey was our contact, and she was fantastic through the whole process. The day of the wedding, everything was done perfectly, it was exactly, if not better than I had imagined it. We received so many compliments from our guests as well. I would highly recommend Sequoia as a wedding venue.
