Selene is the absolute best!! From my initial appointment with her, she knew exactly what the dress needed and made sure every last detail was taken care of. She went above and beyond my expectations and truly did not miss any detail. She is thoughtful and kind and provides guidance and a calming presence during a stressful time. Run don’t walk to trust this lady with your dress.

The best of the best
I would give Selene 100 stars if i could! She did the most beautiful job, and was fantastic every step of the way. I brought my moms old wedding dress with the big huge 80s puffy sleeves in. I was pretty nervous because even though my moms dress looked great It was hard to have the vision of what it's actually going to look like. To be honest, I was semi regretting telling my mom I would wear her dress. BOY I WAS WRONG!!!! Selene meticulously altered the sleeves into the cutest cut ever. She brought in the waist where I felt like an actual princess. We had multiple fittings, each time Selene making it more and more beautiful, It came out better than I could have ever imagined. You could feel the love, it felt like my aunt was altering my dress. When I picked up my dress to bring it home I literally cried and thanked her. I didn't cry on the wedding day lol...but I cried for Selene. She knew how I wanted to look as a woman and was just so nice to work with. She also made my veil, which was also gorgeous. I would trust her with anything alterations, she will make you look fantastic, feel fantastic, and great customer service. I posted before and after pics, I wish i could wear my dress again, hopefully I have a daughter to continue the tradition. -

I worked with Selene for my wedding, rehearsal dinner and afterparty dress alterations, and she was amazing!! She did such a great job with the dresses and her customer service was also fantastic. She was so helpful, warm, and efficient. She did a truly amazing job and I would work with her again for any future alterations! Thank you so much for everything! :) -

Selene essentially saved my day and a lot of stress. Basically my dress was from Pronovias NYC, and they botched the alterations and gave me a hard time. I went home near tears, but found Selene. I went in (she took me like next day, two weeks before my wedding), she calmed me down, looked me straight in the eye and said she can fix it. It was so bad, we couldn't even zip it, we couldn't find the bustle, it was crooked - it was so bad that luckily there was no cut fabric. I highly recommend Selene - she got it right, my dress was perfect and I was expecting only almost perfect because the disaster she had to deal with. She was overall amazing and listened to how I wanted the dress to look, but also gave me realities and truth about the fabric, the corset and what she could do, the train and that I needed a three point bustle - just overall a professional and new her stuff. She turned around things so quickly and always made sure I was happy with it and comfortable at the quick fittings. Thank you Selene! -

Selene is such a sweet, lovely lady and I only have good things to say about her. She was my fairy godmother and did such an amazing job on making my wedding dress fit perfectly. When I did my final fitting, my dress fit like a glove and I had her add on off shoulder sleeves and they were exactly how I wanted. She even found extra lace for the sleeves that matched my dress spot on. She offers a fair price and is professional, accommodating, and really explains things carefully so you know exactly what she is going to do. I highly recommend Selene for all your altering needs!! Fantastic seamstress, great service
Selene works magic and is absolutely the person to trust with your precious, fragile, cannot-be-messed up clothes. My wedding dress looks amazing and fits perfectly. She is also fantastic to work with – warm, friendly, and has excellent professional judgment.
I was nervous about getting any alterations done to my Berta gown because it is so delicate, but when I spoke to her she reassured me and clearly knew what she was doing. She added in a lining, hemmed it and took it in and created the perfect bustle.
In addition to my wedding dress, she did an amazing job on a bridesmaid dress with a very tight timeline – I got my bridesmaid dress the night before flying out to the wedding, and Selene was able to take it the same day as my flight, hem it and take it in. I highly, highly recommend Selene! -

Selene did an amazing job altering my wedding gown! She is a very talented seamstress and is very accommodating. I was in a bit of a shock when my fully beaded Atelier Pronovias wedding gown came in significantly larger than expected. It felt like a complete disaster. At the time, I wasn't sure if my wedding gown had a chance of getting fixed.
Luckily, I met Selene, who immediately put me at ease. She explained the alterations process very thoroughly, so I knew what to expect. Her work was pure magic. Selene was able to seamlessly take off two inches of fabric on each side of my dress. She removed and reattached the lace appliqués in a way that I couldn't even notice. She fixed the built-in corset to fit me perfectly, and added beautiful custom made off-the-shoulder sleeves to achieve a romantic look. I couldn't be happier with how my wedding gown turned out. I didn't think it was possible, but Selene made it happen! -

My wedding dress was super fitted and delicate, and when I picked it up from the store I was devastated that it was almost 2 sizes too big. I read all of the great reviews about Selene and made an appointment asap. She reassured me that she could make it fit, but I never thought it would turn out as perfect as it did! She worked her magic and it ended up fitting me like a glove, and it didn't look like there had been any alterations done at all. She also took in the waist of my velvet rehearsal dinner dress, and again it exceeded my expectations. I'll be returning with any dresses I need to have altered in the future! Brides - you are in good hands here.

Jessica Sent on 08/17/2012I had my wedding dress alterations done at Selene's. Georgia is an extremely talented seamstress, and the dress turned out beautifully! I was nervous because I had to have alterations to the ruched bodice of the dress, but Georgia worked her magic and you could not tell that the dress bodice had ever been touched! Not only did the dress look stunning, but I was very comfortable the whole night - even after hours on the dance floor! I looked and felt great the whole day thank to my dress which fit like a glove. I highly recommend Georgia at Selene Alterations & Designers! -

Elena Sent on 10/27/2011I was having a lot problems finding a seamstress I could trust until I went down a street I normally do not go down on my way home from work. It was fate. I quickly made an appointment and was on my way! I met with them 4 more times and could not be happier!! My dress fit like it was made for me (and in the end it was thanks to them). I highly recommend them for any seamstress work AND they make beautiful dresses. After each visit I left asking my fiance if I could squeeze one more dress into our budget! :) -

Her work is high quality and she was friendly and professional. Her price was also substantially less than I was quoted at the big bridal store where I purchased my gown. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her! -

My crepe wedding gown had a draped open back that I was hoping to raise or find a solution for holding up my bust. She convinced me to leave the back open and expertly sewed a bra into the front and the results could not have been better (or more comfortable)! The shop is small, but I preferred the intimate experience because I knew my dress was the focus each time I visited. Highly recommend!
